Name: Artemis/Arty. AO3: ArtemisMoonsong
Fandoms: Primarily Skyrim, occasionally Mass Effect and Dragon Age. I am planning a Baldur’s Gate 3 long fic, though, as well as a Hobbit long fic!!
Most popular oneshot: I lost my heart on Voeld -- Where it's really f***in' cold (Mass Effect: Andromeda, Jaal x male Ryder). Well that really surprised me! It has 247 kudos which is more than most of my multichapter works. This really goes to show you that sometimes it really is all about writing a popular pairing in a fandom that’s hot at the time... I don’t even ship my Ryder with Jaal 😂 But I’m glad people liked it!
Most popular multichapter: The Slightly Tragic yet Very Inspiring Story of Casien Yedlin, Orphan, Scholar, and Mage No contest, I’m not even going to check to make sure. The first book in Casien’s story is without question the most popular thing I’ve written, ever. It has over 4,000 views and about 300 comments and kudos which, hey, for an OC-led fic written in first person for an old fandom isn’t half bad. Shoutout to Laurie’s fic, which has 327 comments BECAUSE MY READERS ARE AWESOOOME (but half as many views because it is the fourth book in a series and it’s an OC-led fic and it’s in first person and the main love interest is an obscure NPC 😂).
Actual worst part of writing: That’s tough. I’m going to go with self-doubt. The constant self-flagellation I do over worrying whether my writing is good enough and if anyone even really enjoys it (this is not based on logic or empirical evidence) is a constant drain on my psyche. I think that will always be part of writing for me. And it’s frustrating for a variety reasons, one of which is that it has literally ended friendships because apparently this trait of mine is so annoying people just can’t put up with me anymore. 😬
How you choose your titles: I don’t even think about a title until I’m literally posting the work on AO3. At that point I usually go for some reference to a poem, novel, or song. Otherwise the title might be a little self-deprecating and silly and probably some kind of play on words.
Do you outline: I do not.
Ideas I probably won’t get around to, but wouldn’t it be nice?: I would like very much to write a Dragon Prince long fic, but I’m pretty confident I’ll never have the time to do so. The same goes for Horizon Zero Dawn. There just aren’t enough hours in the day, days in the year, years in my life. It takes me approximately 8-9 months to write a book, and as it is I need to drastically slow down that pace so I don’t burn out. I’m about to attempt to write three at once. I apologize to any potential readers in advance.
Also, let’s be honest: I want to write Casien forever. I just want to write basically every year of his life up until he croaks and goes to Sovngarde. This is unrealistic, though, and I’m already considering stopping the entire saga after Laurie’s story finishes. At some point I have to be strong and tell myself, enough is enough.
Callouts @ Me: There are tropes that I’m drawn to and that’s a simple fact that I don’t see changing anytime soon. I like to write in first person. I don’t know if this produces my best writing but it’s the most fun for me, and writing fanfiction has to be fun, first and foremost. My OCs are always going to be (loosely) boys, always elven or something similar. Call me out for that if you want, but I am surrounded by beautiful female OCs 👏👏 here and on AO3, so I really don’t see why I’m also not allowed to write my wish fulfilling self-inserts. My OC will always fall in love with a good, handsome man (probably with a beard). Probably older than him. I’m sorry. Shame on me. I am so soft over good, handsome men cherishing their beloveds. Disgusting, I know. Send me all the hate anons, I deserve it.
Best Writing Traits: Character voice, dialogue, point-of-view, friendship, and romance.
Spicy Tangential Opinion: Fanfiction is inherently, radically subversive and there is no other medium like it. It’s marginalized people writing their own fantasies because no one else will. If you’re thinking about calling someone out because they don’t write fanfiction the way you think they should - don’t. When you do that, you belittle yourself and your community.
Tagging: @tishinada @wardenari @themushroomqueen-ao3 @vtforpedro and @ahufflepuffhobbit!! Well and also anyone who sees this and wants to do it!!! I mean it!!!!!

Fanfic Stats
Tagged by @curiousartemis (I just copied the format you used, so I probably stole some bits from whoever you stole them from xD)
1. When did you start writing fanfiction: 2012 I think, but I don’t think I posted anything until a little while after that. My first post to AO3 was in 2015
2. Of the 24 works I have on A03:
1 is on hiatus
1 is abandoned (and hidden from my profile)
19 are complete
19 are stand-alone one shots (but some might later be incorporated into larger stories)
0 are collections of one shots (I use the Series feature for each pairing)
24 are ship fics (that’s, like, all I write tbh)
0 are general fics
5 are multi chapter
24 are part of a series (for a total of 10 series, but there is some overlap for writing groups)
3. I have written
14 fics for Elder Scrolls (12 Skyrim, 2 Oblivion)
9 fics for Dragon Age (8 Inquisition, 1 Origins)
1 fic for The Arcana
4. My longest completed fic is: Piercing Lullaby at  2953 words (lol, I never finish anything D:)
5. My most popular works (by kudos / comment threads / hits) is: Blood Oaths (my Hiatused piece :/) at 146 kudos and 34 comments,
The Better Replacement at 2750 hits
Conclusion: My older stuff appears more popular, but that could be a result of TES fanfiction not being as sought out (because I certainly feel my writing and story skills are better now than they were when the old pieces were written).
6. My most common additional tag is: OMFG I don’t use additional tags -_- I completely blank over those for whatever reason, and I NEVER FUCKING NOTICED UNTIL NOW
But boyo it would be Romance because I’m a slut for some swooning.
7. My A03 user name is: alxxiis
I mean... it’s basic. That’s my name.
8. Bonus Fact to get to lucky number:
I waiver between undeserved arrogance and undeserved self-doubt
I love writing canon x OCs
I mostly write in third-person, something that was pretty instilled in me when taking writing courses in college. Now writing in first-person feels mediocre because my professors were sometimes shitty about that- it’s something I’m trying to get over
I prefer New Adult (because I like when things are close-ish to my age)
I have the attention span of a squirrel when it comes to my writing, and even planning shit out doesn’t always get me to write. And sometimes I abandon plans half-way through and wind up retconning some of my stuff

Right! Second time’s the charm!
Tagged by @tishinada !! ❤ (EDIT: Realize as I’m filling this out I’m using some unique wording from Tish’s friend @cinlat; I hope you don’t mind! I’ve added a bit of my own, too)
1. When did you start writing fanfiction:  2007 (I think)
2. Of the 17 works I have on A03:
0 are on hiatus
0 are abandoned
16 are complete
9 are stand-alone one shots
2 are collections of one shots (1 collection per pairing)
17 are ship fics (e.g. tagged pairing)
0 are general fics
6 are multi chapter
5 are part of a series
3. I have written
9 fics for Skyrim
6 fics for Dragon Age
2 fics for Mass Effect
4. My longest completed fic is: Love's Labor's Never Lost: The Third Part of the Story of Casien Yedlin (132,729 words)
5. My most popular work (by kudos / comment threads / hits) is:  The Slightly Tragic yet Very Inspiring Story of Casien Yedlin, Orphan, Scholar, and Mage (266 kudos)
Love's Labor's Never Lost: The Third Part of the Story of Casien Yedlin  (133 comment threads)
The Slightly Tragic yet Very Inspiring Story of Casien Yedlin, Orphan, Scholar, and Mage (3847 hits)
Conclusion: Book 1 garnered a lot of attention (hits/kudos) but readers were most engaged with Book 3 (133 comment threads). I don’t know, this just makes me happy!
6. My most common additional tag is: Romance (9)
Acknowledging that I enjoy writing romance (in conjunction with other genres) and that it was OKAY to enjoy writing romance has been the best thing ever; I’m so proud to use a tag that gives people such joy!!
7. My A03 user name is: ArtemisMoonsong
Don’t laugh -- okay, you can laugh; I came up with that name when I was 15, then used it for my FFN account, then figured I should keep it for AO3 in case any readers crossed over. Now I can’t change it because all my links would be broken 🤬
8. Bonus Fact to get to lucky number:
I struggle with crippling self-doubt
I write canon x oc
I write predominantly in first person, but I like to write in third person, too, and I have one fic in second person
I write bildungsroman
So, big surprise, I write YA/NA
My series can be read fandom blind and is essentially a fantasy/action/adventure coming-of-age story about a boy who falls in love with a king, makes lots of new friends, and goes on adventures.
Tagging: @alxxiis @smolpocketmonstercoffee @knightdawn @maraleesquill @wardenari @fandomn00blr and it’s 11pm; I can’t think of anyone else off the top of my head who’s a writer but please if you want to do this, do it!
