I have this Idea™ that maybe no one will care about and if you don't I need you to tell me before I put a bunch of effort into it, BUT since I've been getting a lot of asks about my old fics (which I still can't access because they have been deleted unless they're on ao3) and have been very nostalgic about my old interests and fandoms I was thinking of doing like a throwback week? where I post seven fics from seven fandoms I used to write a lot for back in the day and try to make them very typical N fics to kind of pay homage to my old blog (which I created in 2013 so it's basically the 10 year anniversary!!)
would this be of interest? like at all? I'm uncertain because I wrote for a few older fandoms for last year's tickletober and I thought they woud do better than they did, but at the same time everyone's dashes were being flooded with content so I'm sure things just went under people's radar. but also I'm afraid people care more about the old fics (which I get, they're part of a particular history) than me writing new ones and also I probably would only write that one fic for the throwback week and maybe that's mean to lowkey tease something that I won't give more of? and also I don't want to put effort into something if people don't really care because I'm not just gonna ASSUME they do. idk let me know lol

Request Guidelines/Masterlist
I wanted to organize more....
Request Guidlines? Idek if y'all want to request tbh:
REQUESTS ARE: CLOSED
Reader will almost always have gender neutral pronouns, but if I'm in a good mood, I might do gendered labels(boyfriend, girlfriend, etc). Most likely not though.
NO YAN! Y/N
I can write, angst, fluff, yandere, romantic, platonic, and AU's.
You do not have to request yandere, I love writing other stuff too.
I will NOT write NSFW, incest, child x adult(unless platonic), oc x character, character x character, abuse(can be mentioned), or sexual assault(at the most, it'll be a very BREIF mention). Please don't cross my boundaries.
I do not like writing a 'willing' reader x yandere character. It feels gross and like I'm romanticizing the toxicity more than I'm comfortable with. If you request this, I will either delete it, or make it stockholm/give it a not happy ending.
You can request up to 5 people in a fic/headcanon. If it gets too many, I start to struggle and then no one will be happy. if you request more than 5, someone's getting cut.(More than 2 will most likely be made into headcanons as they're quicker.)
If not stated outright, I will decide whether it's in headcanons or fic format. Please be specific if you want it a certain way.
Please don't be mean towards anyone. You can make fun of or yell at me all you want, but don't be a jerk to others.
Don't be scared to request. I love getting requests/asks.
I don't mind dark stuff or horror. I might cut down because it's public, but I will try to keep it as close to your request as possible.
PLEASE BE SPECIFIC. DON'T JUST SAY "_____ X READER", THAT MEANS NOTHING TO ME. If you're stuck, just give me a verb, or look through my prompt list, but please don't just say someone x reader.
Please don't request certain body types. I don't want to write about a skinny reader, or a chubby reader, or a reader with curly hair blah blah blah. It's really hard for me to think of ideas for it, and there's already hundreds of fics out there like that.
I usually won't write a mutant/non-human reader because of personal preference, but if you request like "drider reader who's lived hundreds of years and breathes fire . . . etc", I'm going to delete it. In my mind, that's probably just an OC, and I don't want to write it. Also I just hate writing non-human readers so if you want it to be a non-human reader, it's going to take me a while to get to it. And even then, I'll probably just write it and skip the non-human part.
I reserve the right to refuse any request, and can silently delete a request if I deem it necessary/just because I want to.
If you feel your request is taking too long, message me or send me a ask in my inbox. I'll reply as soon as I can.
What I will write for:
TMNT(all versions but the 1990's, I don't know enough about them. Bayverse and 2007 would probably be iffy as well)
My Hero Academia
The Disastrous Life of Saiki K
Undertale(All Au's, no Deltarune)
Creepypasta(Depends on the character, some I won't write for.)
Five Nights at Freddy's (All games, but not the books)
How to Train Your Dragon
Assassination Classroom
Avatar the Last Airbender
Welcome Home ARG
Danny Phantom
Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse/Across the Spiderverse
The Owl House
Garten of BanBan
Darkwing Duck
The Amazing Digital Circus
Avengers/MCU
Transformers(only seen Prime so far, but I can wing everything else)

20 questions for fic writers
thank you for tagging me @sequinhaze <3
1. how many works do you have on ao3?
16 but it's about to go up real soon lol
2. what's your total ao3 word count?
443,250 jfc
3. what fandoms do you write for?
mostly harry potter/marauders, though i may dip my toes into other fandoms if the itch needs to be scratched.
4. what are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. contrapasso 2. treat me soft (touch me cruel) 3. your rose and every thorn 4. summer's in the air and baby, heaven's in your eyes 5. sweet poison
tbh your rose and every thorn is a surprising one? it just sorta...shot up there all of a sudden. yeehaw, i guess.
5. do you respond to comments? why or why not?
i try to respond to all of them! i don't always, just because i am really busy and don't always have the time, but i like to sit down and go through each one. they all get read, though, regardless of whether or not i have time to reply.
6. what is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
it'll definitely be paint it black and all these terrible things. they're happy endings, but the angst to get there is very high. i used to think these violent delights belonged here, but it's just sad lol.
7. what's a fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
probably just all of my one shots. those always have happy endings, though i have a handful of angstier one shot ideas.
8. do you get hate on fics?
maybe, but i hid my bookmarks so i can't see those anymore. i've received shit sandwich comments, but i usually just mark them read and delete them from my inbox and forget they exist. i definitely don't respond to them, unless they're really mean.
9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?
ofc lol. but i write smut all over the roadmap, depending on the pairing. their kinks are specific and not universal. like jeggy kinks and wolfstar kinks and drarry kinks are not the same in my head.
10. do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one you've written?
probably these violent delights (titanic au) and paint it black (peaky blinders au). not quite crossovers, but they're vaguely there.
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
vaguely, but not enough to really care about it.
12. have you ever had a fic translated?
yes! quite a few of them are in russian, which is lovely.
13. have you ever co-written a fic before?
i am currently in the process of doing this and we're almost finished <3 it's been incredible, and i'm very excited to share what we've made!
14. what's your all-time favorite ship?
jegulus, always.
15. what's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
maybe the pirates au...? it's there, knockin' around in my head, but it's taking a backseat to a lot of fics i want to write more. but i'm sure someday i'll write it! just...not any time soon. also, plenty of abandoned one shots to go around lol.
16. what are your writing strengths?
god i want to say none so bad, but idk, maybe dialogue? scene descriptions? i hate white room syndrome, so i fight hard to make every scene feel immersive.
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
hmmm... large casts. i can do james, reg, sirius, and remus, but any more than that is too much. i prefer fewer POVs anyway, so i think i've made 4 POVs my strength. anything more than that would probably get too messy for me.
18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
i love it, if it's done in particular moments. a few lines here or there. if it's an entire conversation happening in another language, it's annoying. unless it's somehow being translated, or at least we have a vague idea of what's going on.
19. first fandom you wrote for?
supernatural (this is why damagecontrol exists at all lol)
20. favorite fic you've written?
it's going to end up being all these terrible things. it will probably be my least read fic, but that's entirely fine with me. i'm writing it for myself first and foremost, and i put m whole regulussy into every single word and line. i think it showcases what i can do more than anything else i've written, because it's extremely character-driven and plot-driven. it's also going to be long as fuck (500k+ words), so i think it'll be what i'm most proud of when it's finished.

20 questions for fic writers
I was tagged on this by @unexpectedstormy ! I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to respond like it was a chain or make my own post, so I just went for it
1. How many works do you have on A03?
Two. There will be more coming, because Blood Drops on Roses is just arc one of this story, and there's a lot of snippets for Prologue floating around.
Blood Drops on Roses: Linked Universe
BDOR Prologue: The Yiga and The Sheikah
2. What's your total A03 word count?
51,493 words since mid-August, when I finally got an account XD I've been a lurker for YEARS ya'll.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Linked Universe only, so far.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
See above XD I hope to get enough fics out there that I can sort my work like that, but for now it's just those two.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes, I respond as soon as I can, they are like crack to me. Maybe because I'm new to sharing my work or something, but I would die for each and every one of you that leaves even as much as a <3
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
NONE OF MY FICS ARE FINISHED YET AAAAAAAAAA. Arc 1's ending is going to be pretty angsty though.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Hm, I see that this questionnaire is not meant for me. There is a Prologue section "The Trap" that I'll be putting out soon through, its ending is pretty sweet I would say.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not yet. I am afraid that it's gonna happen, but so far everyone has been so nice, so I hope not D:
9. Do you write smut?
Nah. Don't really read it either. Just not my thing.
10. Do you write crossovers?
I mean unless you count LU as a crossover between all the Link's respective fandoms, no
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Gosh I hope not. How does one steal a fic?
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope. If I ever get good enough at Spanish, I would like to take a crack at translating my own fic once its all published, but it would probably be laughably terrible. Eh, practice is practice.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Not yet. Hey @needfantasticstories, I think Clippy Wind and Pug Sky need to go on some adventures together, don't you?
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
Tbh I don't really ship. I do think Malon/Time and Legend/Ravio are cute though. I'm just not really interested in exploring the romantic side of stories, even in published literature.
15. What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Geez I hope that I finish all of Arc 2 at this point. But I may be too early into the game to answer this.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Heck if I know. I had someone say in my comment section that they liked how I characterize people, so we'll go with that.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I write too much and probably in too much detail. Sometimes it would be better to say "They crossed the bridge and set up camp" but nooooooooooo lets add 7,000 words to this already bloated fic.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Italics. I was about to whip out my decade of Latin for part of this fic, but I decided against it because I'm pretentious but not that pretentious. Also because I still don't understand word order at ALL.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Now that I'm thinking about it, I think I have some fanfic from the dog series of Warrior Cats lurking somewhere that I wrote when I was like 12. Survivors, or something? I should probably go delete it, I'm sure it's trash. I'm scared to even look, it probably hasn't seen the light of day since I wrote it.
20. Favorite fic you've ever written?
Well I've only got one big fic out right now so let's go with BDOR
@needfantasticstories and @somer-writes I'm kicking this your way.

I'm sure someone's asked you this before, but I'm thinking about writing another short fic and I'm wondering what your process is for plotting out your writing? every time I try and write something I always struggle with knowing how to move the plot toward what I want. I'm wondereng if you have a structure you tend to follow? if you've answered this before feel free to tag me in that post or something, but it's been so long since I've written something and I want a good structure to start from. and you're one of my favorite authors so I figured you'd be the best to ask
ideas take time. I'm sure there are some people out there who can get an idea and then spit out a short fic immediately after and it's great and wonderful and amazing but personally, I can't do that. I gotta sit on my ideas and build them over time. even the short ones!
it's just not enough for me to want to write something. i gotta be into it, and i'm not going to get into it unless i've spent considerable time thinking about it and developing it in my head. whether that means building up plot or backstory or just witty banter, I need to have a good feel for the story before i can start writing it. most of the story ideas i come up with never get written. i come up with an idea that i'm into but then i can't brainstorm enough meat in the middle so i either tuck it away in my notes to try and salvage later or i forget it and move on
And that's okay! not every idea is a winner. but it's not a waste of time to come up with them. several of my stories were once ideas that i scrapped because i couldn't motivate myself to get into them. Summer Rain was an original story idea i came up with when i was a teenager that i stuffed into the very back reaches of my brain until years later i got into Haikyuu and dragged it out to rethink it into a fic idea instead. GMB too. Hard Times was a fic I started years ago and then abandoned because I couldn't bring myself to think up what should happen after the initial deal is struck.
when i am actually plotting out a story, i don't really have a structure that i follow. I just think of individual things and jot them down in my notes, then change or add to them as i continue to brainstorm. I mainly focus on the BIG parts, working them out in my head until I like them, and then write the little in between stuff as I go. I am one of those writers that prefers to write by the seat of my pants and it's worked well for me so far but I understand how some people prefer not to do that.
none of my stories come quickly though. For many of the long ongoing ones, i'm coming up with new stuff all the time. I've got a big thing planned for ATEGT that i didn't think of until I was like 15 chapters into it. Summer Rain is nothing like what it was supposed to be when i first started it. Ideas are supposed to change and bulk up over time, so if you give them the time they need, you can think up some really fun, amazing stuff!
Don't rush. I understand the need to write something and post it as soon as possible. There are times that i wish i could just bust out a fast one shot and shoot it out there for people to read but it's just not my style. the people who can do that are awesome and i admire them! but it's just not for me. I need to bat an idea around in my brain for weeks, months, or even years before it becomes anything concrete.
other than that, i don't really have much useful advice for you in this area, unfortunately. Just... take notes. Write down your ideas as soon as you think of them. It's not a contract. You don't have to keep them. I'm constantly jotting an idea down in my notes and then deleting it later because i changed my mind. It's fine! Get loosey goosey with it! it's supposed to be fun! don't stress yourself out with trying to force something thats just not coming. let it come to you freely and you'll be pleasantly surprised by what you think of.
i've also found that it helps for me to write my thoughts down as if i'm telling the idea to a friend. Just working through the plot on the fly from beginning to end. "I've got this new idea. So there's Character A who works at the airport and what they does is this and that. then one day as theyre doing this or that, someone comes through the line and then this thing happens and Character A is like what the heck? but they're cool so they're like hey it's no big deal and Character B is cute so Character A is like hey let's see where this goes, so anyway Character A does this and Character B is like that and after that Character C who is Character A's ex and a total douchenozzle shows up and Character B is like yo i'm gonna help you out and so-" you know? Just... write it out. If you don't know what happens next, say you don't know what happens next. "Some other stuff will happen and their bond will grow you know, like fun romantic and silly things where they learn some stuff about each other but it's clear that Character B is keeping a secret but Character A doesn't want to push them into talking about it so they just pretend like they don't notice and-" etc etc.
Walk yourself through the stuff you HAVE figured out and you might think up some others on the fly too. It helps to see it in a linear fashion. "And then and then and then and then". At least it does for me. Especially since my brain doesn't like to be organized and constantly jumps around to whatever is most interesting at the moment. my friends have gotten long strings of messages from me over the years about story ideas i've come up with and just want to get out to see if they have any real potential. and those are the ones that usually do!
sorry i don't have any real tricks or tips about this stuff. i really am just a sloppy disorganized writer and people probably shouldn't try to emulate me because it's a mess over here, take my word for it 🤦‍♂️
anyway, i wish you luck! You can do it! just make sure you are having fun. your writing should be indulgent and exactly the kind of thing you would want to read. don't think about what other people would want. You're not making a product to sell, you're creating art 🌈

Welcome to my Blog!
━━━━━━ ⊙ ❖ ⊙ ━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⊙ ❖ ⊙ ━━━━━━
NOTE: I AM STEPPING BACK FROM TUMBLR FOR A LITTLE BIT SO I WON'T BE AS ACTIVE HERE.
If you've stumbled along this mess of a blog, welcome! And please, feel free to stay and take a look around! Below I have linked my Masterlist and Request rules, so I would really appreciate if you take a look at it if you feel like sending in a request or getting caught up on my current Au's. Also I have two secondary blogs if you so desire to take a look at them.
@ask-the-thirteenth-and-co where I run a little ask blog for my most popular fic, The Many Lives of Optimus Prime.
@lets-try-some-writing-draws where I will now be throwing most of my art to keep it from clogging up my main blog here. Drop by over there if you want to request a drawing please :) I like my workspace organized.
(Updated 12/9/2023)
Regarding Tags
I have one personal tag: lets try some writing mumbles. I use this tag for my personal thoughts outside of my writing.
If you need me to tag something, I am likely to oblige unless I think its niche enough to not warrant it. Sorry, but if you have issues with a subject I include regularly in my work, you just need to block me and move on.
I like to chatter in the tags when I am particularly fond of an idea. Be wary of that if you are not pleased with such behavior.
Communication
By all means, feel free to reach out to me! DM's, Inbox, or through tagging. All of it is more than fine.
I love being tagged so please don't hesitate if you think I might be interested in something. I may not always respond, but I will see and likely be rather pleased.
Be nice if you would. If you are going to reach out to me, please be civil. If you cannot do that, especially in my inbox, I am likely to drag whatever you are saying through a logical deconstruction because I find any sort of hate humorous.
Characters
I focus a lot on Optimus and have many different iterations of him. Some are closer to canon than others. Don't get uppity about it.
Ratchet comes in as a close second fav so one day he will have more stuff focused on him too.
I DO ship, I just don't like to make it too obvious since this blog I largely made with the intent of keeping the shipping subtle or not even present.
Occasionally I will do some ship writing, but it will largely be meant for an au or something. It won't be my big thing.
Regarding ships, no I will not tell you my favs. I have a select few that I love and the rest I respect for the most part.
I am well aware of the warcrimes committed by characters I love. Yes I will coddle them. Yes they will suffer for their sins. I am an evil writer, but not an unfair one.
Random
For all that is good and glorious, if you want more for an Au, please tell me. I have too many au's and too few hours to write to keep track of them all. If you enjoy something I have made and would like to see more, by all means, alert me.
If you have not seen your request answered, it means I either deleted it or am storing it away like a squirrel until the inspiration strikes. Either way, it is not personal.
I live overseas at present so my time online is wonky compared to anyone on the West Coast. Just be aware. (。・ω・。)
I have stuff to do (coughschoolcough) so I may not be able to write for extended periods of time. In which case, I will warn you lot if I can.
As always, stay safe and hydrated!!

Fic Author Interview
Thank you for the tag @hils79!
How many works do you have on AO3?
270 (as of right now)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
2,888,650 (as of right now)
3. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Wait, We're Married?! (The Devil Judge, Kang Yohan/Kim Gaon) - 1,543 kudos
Succulents and an Overprotective Kang Yohan (The Devil Judge, Kang Yohan/Kim Gaon) 1,243 kudos
Kang Yohan's Relaxing Day Off (The Devil Judge, Kang Yohan/Kim Gaon) - 844 kudos
Protect You (The Devil Judge, Kang Yohan/Kim Gaon) - 817 kudos
Kim Gaon Is Mine (The Devil Judge, Kang Yohan/Kim Gaon) - 761 kudos
I'm honestly still kinda surprised my Devil Judge fics are doing well, considering that I don't write for the fandom anymore
4. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I always do, unless they're rude, then they're just deleted. There's no point in fighting/arguing with someone who doesn't understand the story I'm trying to tell
5. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Oh, my Chinese Paladin 4 fic Promise to Keep. It's one of my only fics that has Major Character Death, which is INCREDIBLY rare for me, but it's the only fic I've ever felt comfortable writing an MCD for because I was actually okay with the ending of the drama. But it won't ever happen again because I cried while writing this fic and I don't think I can go through it again
6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?
All of them but Promise to Keep
7. Do you write crossovers?
Yeah. I mainly do crossovers between Killer and Healer and S.C.I., but I've done crossovers with other dramas too
8. Have you ever received hate on a fic?
I did, yeah, and made a whole fucking post about it because the person was really fucking rude and not only came for me, but for my readers and if you come for me, fine, I'll just delete the comment, but the moment you come for my readers I will fucking end you
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Nope
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I did, back when I wrote for the Untamed. Someone had took my The Untamed Moments and started posting it, word for fucking word, in Spanish over on Wattpad. Thankfully a reader told me about it and I got it taken down but to my knowledge, none of my fics since then have been stolen
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Oh yeah, a few. It makes me really happy/honored
12. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Waaaay back on AsianFanFics...haven't since then
13. What’s your all-time favorite ship?
Tumblr media
It's been almost 3 years and I'm still not normal about them
14. What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I always finish my WIPs, for the most part. It's very rare that I don't
15. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue and anything that has to do with describing crime scenes or forensics. Or anything mafia related
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
Run ons, maybe. But sometimes, you just gotta
17. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
I never write full dialogue in other languages, but I will use words, like "gege" or "hyung". Sometimes, I'll curse in another language, if I know what it is (mainly in Japanese)
18. What was the first fandom you wrote for?
First proper fic was either for Dragonball or Black Butler
19. What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?
I don't know, no new fandom/ship has like...caught me and made me want to write. If I watch a new show, I mainly just like...want to make an au out of it for my current ships
20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written
My baby, my beloved, my Killer and Healer rewrite, right here: 恨君不似江楼月 | Killer and Healer.
It's a fic that I don't think I can ever top. The amount of time and effort and tears that I put into this fic...I just love it a lot. And I'm super proud of it. I mean, I love all my fics, don't get me wrong, but nothing can ever probably beat this fic
Tagging: @sunriseverse @clawbehavior @godotismissingx @fourth-quartet @ahhhnorealnamesallowed and any of my other writer friends who wants to play

I have seen one of your recent answers and
1. I would love to see that comic where Catherine and Caleb argue about what marriage is
2. About that, it could be said that Caleb expected Catherine to be submissive and obedient to him?? 😭😭
Tumblr media
This is a bit ooc for Caleb (another reason I cut it) but here you go
--------
Cat: What was that all about?!
C: I protected you from some creep! You're welcome!
Cat: That "creep" was a friend I haven't seen in almost 10 years! And even if it as a stranger who makes me uncomfortable, I am able to protect myself. I don't need you for that!
C (after a small pause): You are not talking to him again.
Cat: Excuse me?
C: ?
Cat: How dare you?
C: I- What are you upset about?
Cat: Who do you think you are to tell me what to do?
C: Who I am to tell you what to do? I'm your husband! You are my wife!
Cat: Yes, your wife. Not your servant.
C: I don't think you understand me here.
Cat: Be a dear and enlighten me, then.
C (hesitant): As my wife it is your responsibility to, well, serve me. I provide for you and in return you obey me. You belong to me now and so you do what I say.
Cat: What? Is that your concept of marriage?
C: Well... yes.
Cat: Alright, let me make myself clear: I married you and am now your wife because I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I did not marry you to be treated like a maid or some subject to a king. My husband or not, you are not my superior and never will be. In this marriage there is no hierachy. I am your equal. I'm not your possesion, I'm not your servant, I'm not going to mindlessly obey you and I certainly am not going to be submissive to you - not unless I myself want to be so.
I am your wife and I am still my own person and you are going to treat me as such. You are going to treat me as a person and not like some accessoire. I know this roots in the human realm and you can't just let that go... which is why I will be patient with you on this. But if you can't let that go... this marriage will not work.
[They're both silent for a while, avoiding the other's face]
Cat: Perhaps I can help a bit. What about me is different from you? Aside from the human and witch thing. What does a human woman differenciate from a human man? And do those differences really mean I - or any other woman for that matter - am of less value and do not deserve to be treated the way you expect to be treated by me? Do those differences really mean I cannot have the freedoms and a voice in this marriage as you expect to have them? Why should I obey you? Why not the other way around? Think about it, Caleb.
[Cat leaves]
-------
I only wrote this far before throwing it in the "deleted scenes" folder. Like I said it didn't move anything along and would've just taken up more time.
They resolved this the typical Caline fashion. I would've ended the comic on a hug or kiss.
Depending on my silliness, I would've written out a fic where Caleb would ask what she meant with "not being obedient or submissive to him unless she herself wants to be so" to which Cat just smirks and replies "Do you want to try it out?" and well, they do ;)

20 questions for fic writers
sorta tagged by @antivanruffles
How many works do you have on ao3?
130 excluding the the podfics I'm listed as a co-author on
2. What's your total ao3 word count?
230,000. I'm a very succinct writer!
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently OFMD. I have written a lot of (in descending order) Star Wars sequel trilogy, Good Omens, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Critical Role, and MCU.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
we wore the jacket for the longest time (Star Wars ST, Finn/Poe/Rey, 3200)
well you laughed baby it's okay (it's buzzcut season anyways) (nsfw; Good Omens, Aziraphale/Crowley, 1100)
human sacrifice and mass hysteria (nsfw, DA:I, Cullen/Dorian, 1080) This one has a weirdly long tail. I still get bursts of kudos on it every now and then.
balance theory (The Old Guard, Joe/Nicky foe yay, 660)
taste the stardust in my mouth (Star Wars ST, Finn/Poe/Rey, 560)
5. Do you respond to comments?
I do not. I don't have enough energy to write and respond to comments, so I'm sure people would rather I write. They are all appreciated though <3
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
a knife on the things that held us together for sure. It sets up the rift between Han and Leia after Ben's attack on the Praxeum and it's the last time Leia sees her brother. I was so emotionally wiped by it I couldn't even think about writing for two weeks hahaha
7. What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of my fics have happy endings, or at least hopeful ones.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
If I do nobody has ever told me.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do! I'm not sure what "what kind" means.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
I've written exactly one, the Will Graham/Aziraphale one (I swear it makes sense in context). ngl it's pretty weird. Plenty of AUs set in different universes though!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I have. Somebody plagiarized "but you laughed baby" beat for beat. When I confronted them about it they said they must have subconsciously regurgitated it. Binch, I had to reread my own fic to compare, don't give me that shit. (They deleted their entire account afterwards. I'm not sad.)
12. What's the longest you've spent working on one fic? And the shortest?
Shortest is drabbles, and those take anywhere from 15-30 minutes. Longest? I still have a Mass Effect fic that I've been picking at on and off since 2012. I should just finish it up.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have not.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
I refuse to pick.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
The Good Omens While You Were Sleeping AU is my only actual posted WIP. There are Reasons I tend not to post unfinished stuff.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'm really good at nailing character voices and dialogue. I think I'm decent at striking a balance between pretty language and making sure it still moves things along. I have been told I'm very good at intimate character interaction.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
What the fuck is a plot?
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Unless you're going for the half-remembered vocabulary because diaspora kid vibe (which I did in my Shang-Chi fic), get somebody fluent to translate for you. The amount of horrific Spanish I've seen in OFMD fic is... not good.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
X2! I thought I was very clever making puns on "le petit mort" in a Rogue fic
20. Favorite fic you've written?
I have a series! I love the extremely weird ones I wrote just for myself that nobody else seems to like, although the Ed/Blackbeard/Stede one is an exception.
I am where memes go to die, so if you want to do this, consider yourself tagged.

Fic Writers Tag
got tagged by @daisyishedwig, thank you :))
and I'll tag @vrt77 and anyone else who wants to do it!
how many works do you have on ao3?
I only have 10 on ao3, I originally started writing on fanfiction.net in like 2011 or something, and no one will ever get that username out of me lol I would've deleted the account but I don't want to be the kind of fic writer that deletes things just because I'm not proud of them anymore.
I used to cross-post everything from ao3 on there because it's the roots of why I enjoy fanficiton, but I don't anymore, mostly because it's a lot of work and I get frustrated with not being able to tag things + having to write super short summaries.
2. what's your ao3 word count?
currently at 345,703 & will be at about 400k when I finish posting my wip
3. what fandoms do you write for?
Glee, and it's surprisingly always been Glee. That's taken different forms over the years, like there were several years where I wasn't posting anything and was just doing some silly little instagram rp with some great friends I made. But Glee is how I discovered fanfiction in the first place, and it's consistently been the one fandom I feel connected enough to write this much about.
I have dabbled in other things over time - wrote a Girl Meets World fic I never finished, got really into some teen shows like Pretty Little Liars, 90210, Gossip Girl, etc. when I was a teenager. But I've pretty consistently only posted glee fics.
4. top 5 fics by kudos
For Real This Time (280), Something More (180), How Bright We Burn (178), slipped away like a bottle of wine (120), and invisible string (102)
5. do you respond to comments? why or why not?
Yes, I try to respond to every comment unless it's super short/I have nothing to say. I usually try to avoid spoilers, and I generally like to treat comments more as my opportunity to make friends/chat with readers about the characters/the ship/the plot.
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Definitely 11:11, it's a canon compliant one shot about slushy-gate which basically just involves Sebastian and Blaine both independently being angsty about everything that went down and wondering what went wrong in their friendship, and by the time Sebastian comes around and apologizes, it's too late.
Some of my other one shots don't necessary have happy endings, but they do have optimistic endings, so I think 11:11 is the only one that counts as straight up angst.
7. what's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I think Something More - don't wanna spoil it, but I think that's the nature of writing a fic where the characters are a little older and you can just feel that the happy ending is permanent, rather than when they're teenagers and happy endings can be very short lived.
8. do you get hate on fics?
Not really, and I can be kinda sensitive lol so I'm glad I don't.
Most of the time if I do get hate, it's not criticizing me as a writer but rather criticizing the way the characters are behaving (which I guess is a reflection of me as a writer because sometimes it's because they don't like the way I've written characters), but I can move past that pretty easily because I realize everyone has different head canons, especially for characters like Sebastian who get like less than 10 episodes of canon screen time.
9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?
Not really? I mean, some of the things I've written toe the line between smut and fade to black (like How Bright We Burn, For Real This Time, & The Way I Loved You, mostly) but I like to think I do so in a way that is way more focused on feelings and emotions than what body part goes where. Even in How Bright We Burn where sex is like a very big part of their arc, most of the way you know what's going on is from Blaine's inner monologue or Sebastian's jokes, not so much from me just like describing the scene.
I mostly don't think I'm great at writing smut, and I've found I really like the style of writing about sex that like Casey McQuiston uses in "Red, White, & Royal Blue" where it's not smut but rather indirectly describing what's going down with a huge focus on the emotions at play. If you've read the book, I feel like you'd understand what I mean, but I don't know how else to describe it.
10. do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one you've ever written?
I do not, mostly because there's not really a fandom I'm as passionate about as Glee that I feel like could go well together. I do hope some day I find the inspiration to write a Flash/Glee crossover fic, but who knows. Back in like 2011 when I first started writing fanfiction, I would sometimes include like one or two characters from other fandoms, maybe as like a roommate when a character went to college or as some background character, but nowadays I prefer to write OCs for those purposes.
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of, but who knows honestly. I did have some writing I did on a fandom Instagram at one point + some edits stolen, and it was crazy because they blocked me so that I wouldn't find out but didn't bother to block any of my friends.
12. have you ever had a fic translated?
nope :) I feel like someone asked me once if they could, but I never heard anything back from them after I said yes.
13. have you ever cowritten a fic before?
No, but I did some Instagram RP back in the day that felt very much like co-writing. I had this Klaine RP that really helped me develop the way I write Blaine, and I think I had a Blam one too. But I enjoyed writing the friendships a lot more. I was Blaine and really close with someone who played Tina & someone who played Brittany, so those friendships became super important to me.
14. fave all time ship?
I mean,, my favorite to write is Seblaine and I'm obsessed with them. Their relationship is so special to me and I've never enjoyed writing about anyone as much as I do with them. I've been a Glee fan since I was in middle school when it was still on air, but I never really shipped them to this extent until I rewatched for the 800th time during the pandemic. Since then, they've been my OTP. They're both just very dynamic characters with infinite writing potential, and I love that neither of them is perfect, and there's so much from canon left unsaid that I get to explore. I'm also a sucker for friends to lovers and enemies to lovers, and Seblaine has elements of both.
But some other favorite ships include Wolfstar (Harry Potter), firstprince (Red, White, & Royal Blue), Gallavich (Shameless), Shara & Chloe (I Kissed Shara Wheeler), Evelyn & Celia (The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo), Nick & Jess (New Girl), Barney & Robin (How I Met Your Mother), & Jake & Amy (Brooklyn 99).
15. wip you want to finish but doubt you will?
I honestly don't have many of these, mostly because I tend to write entire projects at a time then move onto something else, at least with fanfiction. But I do have this little spooky halloween one shot au I started like two years ago and haven't felt motivated to finish because I'm just not good at writing spooky things.
I also have this sort of longfic I worked on for a really long time as a way to deal with something going on in my life, but I doubt I will ever finish it or post any of it because it's lowkey traumatic (deals with like car accidents & the death of a child) and I doubt anyone would be interested in reading something like that. It's Seblaine but involves a lot of Glee characters I haven't written beyond brief scenes in like 10+ years, like Finn, Rachel, Quinn, etc.
16. what are your writing strengths?
I like to think I'm good at writing like anxiety and very detailed internal monologues. I sometimes feel like I include too much of it, but it's always come very naturally to me. I also think I've gotten a lot better in the last year or so at writing funny side characters and dialogue in a group setting.
And I think I've gotten a lot better at writing chemistry and building that chemistry over time instead of skipping to the good part right away - the evolution of that skill to me is very apparent in how I wrote For Real This Time vs. How Bright We Burn.
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
lol smut
I also think I tend to not trust myself enough and end up writing exactly what's going on instead of like implying it. I just want readers to understand so bad that I sometimes feel the need to explicitly say what a character is thinking or feeling, which isn't always what you want, especially when it's a character whose POV I'm not writing.
Also I think my sentence structure can be kinda not great. I write really long wordy run-on sentences too often when it should probably be reserved as a narrative device.
18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
I know a lot of French - I took it for five and a half years and keep up with it on Duolingo so I don't forget anything. I wouldn't call myself fluent, but I can generally understand it in reading and writing. That's the only language I'd be comfortable writing in other than English, which is SO convenient because you know who else is fluent in French? Sebastian ;)
19. first fandom you wrote for?
glee! nothing has changed lol
20. fave fic you've written?
How Bright We Burn! It is my nature that whatever I'm working on at that moment is my favorite thing. I'm really proud of the slow burn in that fic and the character development work I've done for Blaine and Sebastian but also for the side characters like Nick, Jeff, etc. and even my OCs like Ethan. But I'm even more excited about the sequel because it's something I've never really attempted to this extent before, and that's the thing that I'm actively working on since How Bright We Burn is done other than some minor editing.
also gonna shout out 11:11 because I think that is the best job I've ever done with writing angst, and it was both challenging and rewarding for me to write

i was writing a fic about gadreel & sam & gadreel's original vessel and i know i posted some of it here but i either deleted it or didn't tag it with anything so i am just going to share the two unconnected pieces of it i actually wrote in full sentences here in case i don't ever finish it. hi @adirotynd
Levi Carpenter hadn’t been a religious man, Before. That was how he thought of it: Before. Thirty some odd years of his life, thirty some odd years of relationships and friendships and school and dropping out of school and bartending to make ends meet and ends never meeting. Thirty some odd years of being a person who was just a person, just a man, trying his best. Thirty some odd years of sometimes trying his best and sometimes just trying and sometimes not trying at all. All of it boiled down to Before, hazy enough he couldn’t remember it unless he gripped it tight in his hands, blurry enough he couldn’t even quite recall how old he’d been when he’d said yes. Thirty some odd years. Some odd thirty years Before.
Levi hadn’t been a religious man. His parents had raised him in a peculiar absence of religion— his mother Catholic, his father Protestant, neither practicing, neither passionate enough to argue with the other about the proper way to bring him or his sisters up and so they simply hadn’t. The kids hadn’t been baptized. They went to public school. They’d never gone to church. Levi’s youngest sister had gone to Sunday School with a friend from class for a couple years, and sometimes retold stories the preacher had told them while Levi got her ready for bed, but he had always taken the second-hand sermons from a seven-year-old with a grain of salt.
“Is God real or is he made up like Santa?” she’d asked one Sunday night, mouth drawn in a tight little bow like she was preemptively dissatisfied with the answer. This was a familiar expression in the literal sense of the word, but Levi thinks it probably started with her.
Levi had only been ten or eleven at the time, and he’d shrugged, but picked his words carefully before he spoke. “I don’t think God is like Santa,” he’d said, “because the people who tell you about Santa know he’s not real. The people who tell you about God think they’re telling you the truth.” His sister had looked up at him, eyes bright, ready to absorb the truth from the gospel of big brother, and Levi had cracked a smile, rare for him even then. “I don’t know if God is real, but I don’t think he’s made up either.”
His sister had nodded. “He’s both until you die,” she’d summarized, “and then you get to find out which one he is for you.” Levi hadn’t known the term at the time, but now he thinks of Schrodinger’s God, trapped in that box, and he thinks his sister might have been right about that after all.
But his sister had eventually stopped going with her friend to Sunday school, and Levi had stopped answering questions about God, and eventually he only ever really thought about the guy at funerals. He never had much reason to otherwise, besides in passing, besides casually reading signs on the sidelines of parade routes and steadfastly fixing his gaze straight ahead.
Levi hadn’t been a religious man, Before. He hadn’t been praying to have the chance to touch something holy. He wasn’t like some of the others he’d met, who wanted to talk to angels, who felt the call to serve God, who had been on their knees in supplication when they were approached by the hostless Heaven. The night of the Fall, Levi had been cleaning the bar, singing along to some old Dolly Parton tune playing over the shitty speakers he kept meaning to repair, but delaying it, because to him the speakers had taken on some sort of metaphorical meaning. He never wanted to bother fixing them, because he always felt like he was on the precipice of moving on, and why should he bother to fix the speakers when he wouldn’t be sticking around to hear what came out of them? In reverse, if he fixed the speakers, it meant he would be sticking around to hear them. It was the worst of both worlds that kept Levi stuck at the bar, listening to the shitty staticy stammering sound of the music, skipping around like an old walkman someone kept knocking into. He was the one in the box this time, alive and dead, here and gone, and he thinks maybe that was why he was picked. He used to think that the angels had come to shake the box hard enough to snap the neck of whatever chump happened to be inside it, but now he thinks – well, he can’t speak for the other angels, but he thinks his angel was looking for a box to hide in. He thinks his angel was one that didn’t know how to exist if he wasn’t trapped in a box. Was he real, or was he dead? Like Father, like son.
Levi had been humming along to Dolly Parton, wiping down the bar and singing about a 9 to 5 job somewhere south of 1 in the morning, when he’d felt it. Warmth and light, shivering around him, until he couldn’t see or hear or feel anything else, and a voice. It was a nice voice, Levi remembers, although now when they talk he only hears his own, or sometimes the nervous timber of the taller man, the second vessel. But it had been nice. Honeyed, virtuous, repentant. “Levi Carpenter,” the voice had said, and Levi thought it sounded like a sentinel at a post, announcing the presence of an intruder. “I seek your consent to use your vessel.”
“What?” Levi had responded, which wasn’t eloquent or poetic, but you try to do better when one minute you’re scrubbing at a nacho cheese stain that might be older than you are and the next you’re gaining an audience with a holy celestial being. What a way to make a living, ain’t that right, Dolly?
“You are a kind man,” the voice said. “You are just. I am an angel of the Lord,” and on this, the voice seemed to waver, and the haze of light clouding Levi’s vision tinted dark with shame at the root. “I seek your consent to use your vessel.”
To be honest, Levi thought he was having some kind of episode. Something twigged in his brain and bent the wrong way. Hear an angel, smell burnt toast. His first yes, his first “yeah, okay, sure,” was done out of morbid curiosity for where his freshly-lost mind was about to take him.
That wasn’t his second yes. His second yes, he meant.
---- (many scenes and much undisclosed time later)
“Yes,” Sam says, and as soon as he does, he feels panic bubble up inside of him, but it’s too late. Gadreel is leaning forward towards him, eyes piercing, but if he notices Sam’s fear, he doesn’t bother to slow down. He reaches out, rests one warm hand against Sam’s cheek, and Sam closes his eyes at the contact, relief flooding through him that Gadreel’s touch isn’t cold. It helps, more than he’d have thought it would, but Sam figures Gadreel has been him once already. He knows the fears that live deep inside Sam’s veins and knows how to calm them down. He must have done it quite a lot without Sam even realizing it. It’s not quite enough to put out the hot-fire panic burning under his skin, but it backs him off the edge, and he steadies his heart rate before opening his eyes again. When he does, Gadreel is close, close enough that Sam could have felt his breath if he had been breathing, and Sam has one nonsensical second to think, is he about to kiss me? before light and warmth and grace bursts from Gadreel’s eyes and pours into his own.
It’s immediate. Sam feels grace wrap itself around him, and can almost follow its path along his nervous system, from somewhere in the very back of skull down along his spine, reaching out with wispy tendrils to twist itself along his muscles, slide into his veins, fill his lungs. With Lucifer, it had been — an explosion, like belly-flopping into an ice bath, a total submersion knocking the breath out of him. This doesn’t feel like that. This is like — Sam, for some reason, thinks about his dad. Sam thinks about John, when Sam was just a kid, pouring little cups of motel creamer into his coffee. Sam had gone through a phase of being obsessed with the action, always wanting to watch and follow the path of the liquids as they mixed together. John would humor him sometimes, if he was in a particularly good mood, and let Sam stir. Sam would do it as slow as possible, trying to keep the colors separate as long as he could before they combined. It reminded Sam of the swirls of stars in the galaxies in his picture books. “There’s no galaxy in my coffee, kid,” John would grumble good naturedly, and Sam would laugh. Sam wants to laugh now, a sudden urge striking him and filling him alongside Gadreel. There’s no galaxy in your coffee, kid, but maybe there’s an angel in your bloodstream. It’s all celestial in the end. Pick your poison, and try to stir slow.

While we're at it, maybe we authors can do more to encourage commenters. But to do that, I have to address what I feel is a very concerning trend in fandom lately.
I cannot even begin to understand what the entitled assholes on r/fanfiction are thinking when they complain about the comments they get. Like, what is going through their head when they bitch on Twitter because someone said something about their fic that wasn't glowing praise? Take this entitled holier-than-thou attitude and dispose of it immediately in the nearest waste receptacle.
Please.
I'm begging you.
You can't have lots of engagement without being open to different interpretations of your work. Sometimes that means someone will leave a comment that isn't to your taste. I see so many people on that damn subreddit whining that someone commented something just slightly "off-kilter." "Wahhhh they said they love my story but didn't care for the way I ended it!! HOW DARE THEY!!" "I'm so angry I had to vent because someone left a comment saying I rated my story wrong!" "It's so rude that commenters ask for more writing from me wTF!!!"
I personally don't care if people criticize the hell out of my fic. It's posted publicly and I love it when people engage with my work to such a degree that they can tell me what they didn't like about it (and sometimes how to even fix it). To me, this is the holy grail of fanfic writing, when someone is just completely honest about my work. I don't take every criticism into account (sometimes commenters are wrong or I just like to do things my way), but I value the commenter's "take" for what it is: knowledge about my work and how a real person reacted to it.
That said, the current trend seems to be "don't criticize unless the author asks you to." I think this is fine; it's better to be safe than sorry, it's better to not hurt someone's feelings if you can avoid it. I no longer critique 'fics unless asked because of this.
That said, everyone's line in the sand is drawn in a different place. Some people can't even stand receiving a comment pointing out a typo while other people would be upset if you didn't point out a typo you noticed.
And in a world where none of us are mind-readers, if you really want feedback on your fanfiction, you do sometimes have to accept that sometimes you'll receive the kind of comment that you don't like. Maybe it's just not to your taste, the commenter wasn't nice enough or didn't word things well—whatever the case may be.
Getting bent out of shape over it and crying on a fanfiction subreddit is just embarrassing. Delete hateful comments that are not constructive, don't reply to something that upsets you, and consider just saying, "Thank you for reading!" or even, "I appreciate the feedback!" if it's somewhere in the middle. It really is that easy.
Because when you start getting picky about what kinds of comments others are "allowed" to leave on your work, you'll find nobody wants to leave one at all. (And r/fanfiction has enough posts crying about lack of feedback, lmao.)

I cannot believe I am doing this, but it's just driving me fucking crazy. This is about the utterly exhausting and circular and goddamn endless discourse about AO3, and I simply cannot take it anymore. The hyperbole, bad faith arguments, and deeply strange interpretations of what is going on are..... Why. Don't we have enough problems?
Recognizing that this is exhausting and stupid (it was trending on Twitter???? GUYS??) I'm putting this under a cut to not clog up people's dashes. I just feel like there really are solutions and people keep talking around each other and lobbing wild accusations. Come on- CP apologists? Pro-censorship? Let's take a breath. Apologies, per usual, I talked way too much.
First- let's get some perspective. Fanfiction is a hobby. That is all it is- it is not, at its core, more moral or less moral than crocheting. That isn't to say that you can't be a remarkably talented fic writer or that fic writers are never professional writers (though when professional writers are writing professionally, they are not writing fic. Therefore they are not engaging in the hobby of fic writing. They're engaged in the vocation of writing.).
Just like any other hobby, people who do it often get better at it and begin to hone their skills in much the same way that any other hobbyist does in any other skill. But at their core, the point of writing fanfiction is to have fun doing a creative activity with people who are interested in similar topics to you. It is not going to solve racism or cure wealth inequality, or usher in a new shining dawn for gender equity. It, because it is written by very normal people, will always reflect the real flaws and virtues of real and normal people. To suggest otherwise is self-aggrandizing and nonsensical. I'm glad people find joy and pleasure in writing fic (I am one of them!), but we have got to stop saying things that deify fic above other forms of art or writing. AO3 is basically a hobbyist forum and that is okay.
Now- onto my actual point: whatever happened to nuance?
"These freaks will do anything to defend child porn/racism." Okay- well, that is a pretty incendiary thing to say. What is actually being said? People who oppose bans are typically looking at the censorship on TikTok, Tumblr, Facebook's attempts at monitoring, and fanfiction.net and see nothing but colossal failures. So when people suggest potentially banning or deleting erotic works with minors, others who have never seen it done well and have only ever seen it backfire for basically every other tech company are understandably skeptical. Why would it work on Ao3 when it hasn't worked anywhere else? And if these people are still going to write it, except untagged, now we have an even bigger issue because you can't avoid it.
The typical solution for this is "okay, well, hire moderators or build an algorithm," which is expensive and will almost certainly lead to more backlash because they'd need to fundraise for even more money that people already resent having to do at all. Not to mention the backlash when they do/don't decide that something is harmful that other people might/might not. This is especially true of issues regarding racism- unless everyone they hire has a Ph.D. in the topic, I doubt taking the problems to a random committee will solve anything. And maybe I'm insane, but I REALLY do not want a computer taking charge of issues as sensitive as this. As a general rule, I do not want an archive to be making moral decisions about anything. As even more of an aside, I just refuse to describe a dead person as "unalive" in a fic because an algorithm went too far.
Okay- but does that mean we shouldn't do anything about those problems? Do I think the people who sincerely believe we need to fix things are "pro-censorship"? Of course not. There really are existing solutions that are common sense and broadly popular that would put the power in the hands of the readers as opposed to censoring the writers. Instead of focusing so hard on regressive policies to punish or try to eliminate the problem (which is pernicious enough that a simple ban wouldn't work anyway), why not focus on progressive policies that people agree on and can actually work to make people's lives better? People are capable, smart, and thoughtful- when given the tools they absolutely can manage their own online experience.
Author blocks: People should absolutely be allowed to block authors. This one is easy and obvious- it doesn't do much by way of protecting people before they see content but it does help protect themselves from ever seeing it again.
Saved excluded tags: Create a system where you can input certain tags that you always want blocked no matter which fandom you're looking on at the site. This one is another great way to put power in the hands of the reader.
Community fics: Allowing authors to select a group of people that they want to share their particular fic with. If you want to write your cannibal mermaid fic about Hamilton and you don't want to face backlash? Just set it to only be accessible to selected users.
For ideas that go a bit further*:
Stronger age restrictions: If the concern is that young people are being groomed, maybe a solution here could be to have members (I really can't remember how this works because I signed up so long ago) give their birth year. Then just automatically filter out any E or M rated fics for people under 18, similar to how they filter out member-specific fics.
Member-specific fics: On a related note, an option could be to have fics that include an "underage" tag and are E/M are automatically member-restricted.
*Caveat: these two face a similar unintended consequence that would restrict minors from interacting with erotic content at all. Now, for little kids that is fine but for a 16 year old... I mean, there really are teenagers who write porn and there really are young people who are going through puberty and... well. This restriction would obviously be a burden specific to them, but would protect them. Also- they can just lie, lol.
Anyway- as with all policies and all problems, you are always going to deal with unintended consequences of any new policy you put out but you have to be willing to accept that and at least think them through. It drives me CRAZY when people act like we either decide to do an ineffectual ban or we do nothing at all. I am begging you to be at least willing to LOOK for middle ground.
But at the end of the day, remember: This is a HOBBY. It really is not that deep. There are about 5 million users, and even if you say that the real number is closer to 8 million that is still .1% of the global population. I am BEGGING you guys to stop calling each other CP apologists and freaks and pathetic losers and pro-censorship weirdos and purity culture losers. There IS a real problem here and everyone is a little bit right. Just, like, chill a little.

(REPOST) Anon's Ask Box Advent Calendar Prompt: Grass Chuunin Exams in Down Every Road
(I FUCKED UP. I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED THE ORIGINAL ASK POST AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET IT BACK. BUT AT LEAST I STILL HAVE THE TEXT OF IT? AHHHHH)
Anonymous asked: Grass Chunin Exams in Road One? Man oh man, to say Sasuke (and the rest of the Uchiha clan) did not take Shikako’s kidnapping attempt well would be understatement of the century.
Yoooo anon, I don’t know if you are the same anon from many many moons ago (ie 2016) but apparently my inability to write a Down Every Road!Sasuke reacting to the Grass Chuunin Exams has been ongoing. Like. I think this is the third prompt for it. Which means I’m going to have to face my fear(?) and go for it O_O
I had to do a quick reread of the later chapters of the Grass Chuunin Exams because while it will always live in my head and heart rent free I didn’t suuuper remember what Sasuke was up to during them. (To be ENTIRELY HONEST, the GCE is why I first even started writing DoS recursive fic and it was because my Shikaara feels were overflowing, so it was really hard to make myself focus on Sasuke, lol sorry) But I was surprised to see that he is specifically mentioned and with dialogue often and significantly enough that I have something to work with?
Sasuke should have been there. He should have been with her.
Why wasn’t he there? Why didn’t he go with her?
Because he wasn’t interested in the festival? Because he wanted to conserve his strength for his match the next day? Because he didn’t want to put up with Kiba and Ino’s commentary on every interaction he had with Shikako?
Or maybe he should have convinced her to stay, to rest. He knew she was exhausted, knew she had run through all her tricks, used up all of her chakra—thrice! Two soldier pills and still running on empty at the end—if he had asked her to stay in, maybe she wouldn’t have felt pressured to go.
… but why did she go in the first place? Yes, Shikako is fond of festivals, and the chuunin exams in minor villages tend to be more celebratory than cutthroat, but she was clearly weakened after her match with Gaara. She’s usually more paranoid than this. She was definitely more paranoid during the Konoha exams and that should have been safer given the home advantage.
(But can it be called paranoia if she was right about it?)
So why was she so careless this time around in literal enemy territory? (Or, maybe, the question is: why is she more paranoid in her home village?)
He should have seen the signs. He should have covered her back. That’s what teammates (and future spouses!) do. And because he wasn’t there, because he didn’t tell her to stay, he has to live with the sight of her, barely conscious, singed, covered in dirt and vomit, propped between Kiba and Ino. He has to watch other people defend her, comfort her, because he’s too busy trying to catch up in the what happened rather than focus on solutions.
As he sits next to the mountain of blankets that is her sleeping form—an unofficial guard along with the rest of their retinue—he has to wrestle with aimless regret, futile anger, and a growing sense of inadequacy.
And then the next day he loses to Gaara.
Of course he loses to Gaara. If Shikako couldn’t win against Gaara using everything she had—which is certainly more than everything he has—then it’s logical that he wouldn’t win either.
But it still burns, a little, because some part of him hoped…
… because he couldn’t protect her—the past is past—but he thought, maybe, he could bring a victory back to her. A small consolation prize, to be sure, but anything to make her smile just a little bit.
And he couldn’t even do that.
He couldn’t even win (or lose?) at cards to be the one to carry her home.
And then! Kakashi-sensei comes back and pretty much confirms that they can’t do anything. Absolute bullshit about different Grass factions, the political ramifications of Shikako outmaneuvering the Kantokusha’s jutsu—as if she didn’t outmaneuver more intricate and impressive technics all the time—and how, unless they wanted to start another world war, their hands were tied.
Now that burns. Worse than a flubbed Grand Fireball, worse than his early attempts at learning the Chidori.
Because he couldn’t be her protection and he couldn’t bring her victory and now he can’t even get vengeance for her.
He has to do better, he has to be better: his brand new chuunin vest is a vow.
A/N: Ahhh, I’m so sorry anon, this was a struggle—primarily my ongoing writer’s block, but also me circling around and rereading DoS led me to reading some recursive fic that I had missed over and then I was just… reading recursive fic and not writing at all. Which is a mood.
I also realized that there isn’t much different between a Road One GCE and a canon GCE except Sasuke gets to internally think “My (future) wife!” heart eyes whenever she does something cool? But given the tone of the ficlet, it was not conducive to “My (future) wife!” heart eyes so… whoops.
Anyway, I did try to think about other Uchiha’s reactions which are under the cut.
Ask Box Advent Calendar 2022
The problem is that one of my favorite parts about Road One of Down Every Road is that the Uchiha clan are still alive and not evil which means Itachi and Shisui are there to tease Sasuke, but I couldn’t really come up for a reason why they’d be at the GCE. Because, okay, the mentioned jounin who accompanied Tsunade all have students competing which neither Itachi nor Shisui have. I also vaguely headcanon that a non-kin-slaying/pushed-to-the-point-of-breaking Itachi would be in line for Hokage and thus one of Tsunade’s apprentices (either officially or unofficially) which means that BOTH of them wouldn’t be going to the GCE and it’s pretty important for Tsunade to be there. (Like, not just because she does revive Shikako from near death yet again, but because if all the other Kage are there it would be a huge snub if she sends her heir)
So okay no Itachi. Not that big of a deal, my (and the fandom’s) favorite is Shisui anyway. And, okay, ANBU guard would be an easy way out buuuuuuuuuuuuut it would be cool if he was there as like… a rich client’s bodyguard. But then I realize… like… as much as I would love that, he wouldn’t really be able to act without being unprofessional, so he wouldn’t be changing anything plotwise which means to bring him in would be to just get his reactions which then detracts from Sasuke’s very understandable reactions so I decided to go with just Sasuke…
But I do love the idea of Shisui just running the most scathing PR campaign against Grass in general amongst all the other ninja as well as all the wealthy clients. Like really overselling the official line of “if they can’t even keep infiltrators out, why would you ever trust them with your missions” etc etc And low key bringing up how easily/boringly Shikako took out the Muku, like that’s the pride of Grass? Pathetic.
And author’s notes continue to be as long/longer than the ficlet. Whoops

Hey, could you do cis Yoshikage Kira Mpreg headcanons??? If you want to that is. Pre or post Kosaku body swap, idc, can be any point in the part 4 storyline, if not multiple points in the story. Can include dark or angsty stuff like how he’d react to pregnancy loss. Thank you so much and I love your Kira fics btw!
Hi!! Sorry I took longer than even I expected lol
I ended up just going over most of the points you gave me, bc it just gave me more to talk about. And, given that I've written a LOT of Kira mpreg, I don't wanna sound like a broken record lol. That kind of made this more of a series of ideas rather than strict storylined hcs. I hope that's okay lol. It's still not too different from my usual headcanons, dw.

Cis Yoshikage Kira Mpreg Headcanons
So, how did it happen?? Cis mpreg is interesting because you gotta think a lil bit more about how babby is made (unless we're going abo/"it just works" here lol). Most understandable but also most interesting way it could work here is just a stand attack. I remember seeing a (vv likely now deleted :( ) fic where Kira killed a girl who was actually a stand user and got preggers which I think is 👀
HOWEVER it happens Kira... isn't happy that it did. Sure, he's a little less suspicious now – no-one would ever accuse a pregnant father of anything. But he's likely either a single father-to-be or, at least, got pregnant out of wedlock, which makes him stick out and not even for good reasons. And he can't STAND children. This is not a good time for him.
His obsession with his fitness and health means he is obsessed with "glowing" and staying fit during his pregnancy... It doesn't work. He is cranky, tired and large. Don't bother him, he does bite (and cries sometimes).
He says he's making an early start on the nursery and folding up baby clothes and all because he likes to be organised, which is true... but there is an odd tinge of ecstacy to it too, that he prefers not to think about.
He also started keeping an ultrasound picture in his wallet, simply because it was an easy go-to for small talk he didn't want to go through but had to. But, sometimes he will catch himself staring at it.
He does that thing that most pregnant people do where he talks to the baby in utero, and it sounds really sweet because he says it in the typical lovey-dovey tone... until you actually listen to him.
"You have made me pee three times today and I'm only four hours into the work day. You better not be even more of a bother when you come out, because you have ruined my life and body ENOUGH... Aren't I so lucky to have you? ^_^"
To kind of continue this plotline, and since I've already made a post about Kira getting pregnant after the faceswap, what if he got pregnant before the faceswap and had to pretend he wasn't to avoid suspicion. Obviously, Shinobu is oblivious at ever and thinks he's a bit under the weather at most. Hayato might pick up on it, though I'm not sure if he'd fully piece it together or not. Especially if we're going the "Kira gets pregnant from a stand attack" route and cis pregnancies aren't normal, because how could his DAD be pregnant??
Obvious pregnancy loss/miscarriage/stillbirth warning
As for the pregnancy loss... his actual reaction and feelings towards it depends on how early the loss is in the pregnancy. As discussed before, he's not thrilled at being pregnant, especially not at first. So, if it's an early miscarriage, it's pretty much just a relief for him. Luck being on his side yet again. A later miscarriage, or worse, a loss that results in an actual stillbirth... He's a little torn. He still somewhat believes it's for the best, that it makes his life easier and he'd probably not be the best parent anyways. But, perhaps, he didn't mind being pregnant as much as he thought he did. And he does miss having his little one more than he'd like to admit. He finds himself muttering to his stomach for months afterwards still, for a start...

20 questions for fic writers
technically my sideblog @youthereader was tagged by @indulgence-be-thy-name - thanks bb ❤️; and like Em I'll be answering for both accounts
Tumblr media
How many works do you have on ao3? youthereader - 4 grimeysociety - 171
What's your total ao3 wordcount? youthereader - 17,245 grimeysociety - 2,299,669
What fandoms do you write for? MCU - almost exclusively Darcyland, a teeny bit of Stranger Things and RPF (Cillian Murphy characters mostly...I've barely begun though)
What are your top 5 fics by kudos? I can only answer this from grimey so... The Comeback Kid Among Wolves Damn, I'm In It I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm Heart to Break
Do you respond to comments? Why/why not? I always reply to comments unless they're the rare dickish one (I delete those, that's always fun). I reply to everything to thank people for interacting in the first place. I like it when I get a reply from authors, too. I'm very grateful.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I think it was one with Shieldshock and hacking, post-Infinity War, so everyone was dusted except for Steve and Darcy. It was kind of Schrödinger's ending because it might have been happy? I left it open (and I won't ever tell the 'real' ending).
What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Most of mine do. I can't help it. Especially since the 'happy ending' tends to be because of sex. I mean...
Do you get hate on fics? A couple times but it was really insignificant and swiftly deleted.
Do you write smut? If so, what kinds? I write it all. Kinktober was kind of my 'thing' for a few years, as in, some followers looked forward to it each October. I rarely don't have some form of smut in a fic. The filth is fun, and so is the intimate erotica type of stuff. The fluff is great, but I have actually written one that had no response whatsoever and I think it went a little too far for my regular readers.
Do you write crossovers? I think some of my Darcy fic count so I'm going to say yes. I've written her with most Chris Evans characters, like Ransom Drysdale to name one. It counts, right?
Have you ever had a fic stolen? Yes and it's still up lol
Have you ever had a fic translated? I've had a couple translated into Russian but can't recall which, it's been a few years.
Have you ever co-written a fic before? I had someone ask me to ghostwrite their fic ending and then when they weren't happy with what I'd written they said 'no thanks' and haven't spoken to me since, does that count?
What’s your all time favorite ship? I will never be able to decide this, sorry. It's been years and I can never pinpoint it. Literally hundreds of thousands of words written over the three particular ships I'm thinking of and there's no way. There's just no way.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? The Americans. It's been nearly 2 years since I updated and I think it's been forgotten about anyway, so that's me off the hook.
What are your writing strengths? I can't answer that. I have no idea.
What are your writing weaknesses? My pacing is the worst. I repeat myself. I don't think I'm consistent in any way. I get impatient and hardly edit sometimes, which bites me in the ass later. I am bad at a lot of things.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I've done it and it's fine. It's my average high school level French, but it's passable. Literally I passed high school French.
First fandom you wrote for? Kingdom Hearts
Favorite fic you’ve written? The Comeback Kid because it seems to be everyone else's favourite, too.

I will tag @sarahbeniel & @aimmyarrowshigh
