Whenever Isabella is sick, Phineas will devote the entire day to making sure she's okay in his own special way - he'll make her a broadway show, the best made foods, you name it. If PHINEAS is sick, Isabella will come over to his house with some of her mom's food and try her best to nurse him back to health. If they're both sick, they just do what they do in "Brain Drain" and they skype and play videogames together.
Aaaaaaaaaaah I’m SOFT🥺
(This just reminds me of “I Scream, You Scream!” when Phineas spent the entire day making an ice cream sundae for Isabella, it’s just the SWEETEST THING I LOVE THEM SM)

rant incoming about anti-perryshmirtz people
lol already seeing anti-perryshmirtz people mad at dan for acknowledging the ship and actually being supportive of the fans because "eww bestiality" (do i have to bring up the harkness test and how perry is clearly sentient everytime i bring this up lol)
the way perry is portrayed is more anthropomorphic than just a literal animal like a real platypus, just because he doesn't speak it doesn't mean he's not clearly sapient
the fact that i have to remind people to chill out over a cartoon that is clearly unrealistic and already has shit like a woman married to and living inside a whale is honestly absurd, no people are not going to go out and start finding platypuses to fuck
i'm also going to make this clear: YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIKE IT, everyone has their own standards and boundaries (like i even see people being anti-furry because "bestiality"), nobody is saying you have to like it
but to say that people who enjoy having an evil scientist be in a relationship with a sapient platypus (yeah we don't have to make it sexual guys geez) are promoting real, actual bestiality is downright insulting and ignores the actual reason bestiality is bad: consent
maybe i'm just open minded, but bestiality is not an issue because "omg different species", in that case i guess all monsterfuckers can get cancelled, the issue is that an animal cannot consent to a human being
but guess what, this is a cartoon with an anthropomorphic platypus who can clearly communicate with other people, he is NOT just some real ordinary platypus that doesn't understand humans
this whole "controversy" is stupid, if you don't like something just move on, no need to morally justify everything to feel secure in your own tastes, and more importantly don't fucking slander people over something as petty as cartoons kissing
anyway sorry for the rant, i try to keep quiet, but the fact that dan made it topical made me feel a need to speak out (i think something similar happened with ferbnessa actually, and hey i'm not crazy about them but well yeah i don't need to make a ruckus over them)
also if you want to argue with me about cartoon furries holding hands and kissing, i am not in the mood for people to start shit with me so please shut up and accept we just won't agree so the whole thing would be futile

Ferbnessa!!
i don’t know them enough | wtf | why | just NO | tolerable | they’re okay | cute | awww | babies | hot | I will go down with this ship | OTP
I've never been much of a ferbnessa fan; the older I get, the more the age gap makes me uncomfortable. I like both characters individually, not together.

I think Ferbella would have been a better ship to make canon instead of Phinabella and Ferbnessa. In my headcanon, Phineas is aromantic and that’s why he couldn’t pick up on romantic cues from her. And I don’t see why Vanessa would go for Ferb since she was dating Monty.
It is a preference of mine as well but the creators knew what they wanted. The good thing about fandom is that we can explore all the what if’s and alternative paths.
My best friend is a Ferbnessa shipper and we battle each other over our ships all the time. Our Twitter arguments can be funny when you know that it’s just how we play. Otherwise, to an outsider, it looks like a ship war.
As for Phin’s preferences. It could be anything. For all we know, he could just be super distracted or even see Isabella as an extra sister. Who knows what goes on in that genius head of his.
I do feel a deeper connection in Ferbella. They both get what it’s like to have their desires out of reach. Plus, I am a sucker for the Best Friends to Lovers trope.

Got a question, absolutely no malice intended. What, precisely, is so wrong with Perryshmirtz? I get Ferbnessa, given that it’s a very useless ship and the age gap is weird. But I don’t get Perryshmirtz. What’s the problem here?
Is. Is this a joke…?

(PnF) Headcanon #2 Montessa Break Up
Okay, so I just posted my first headcanon for the PnF Universe not a minute ago, but I wanted to post one more that I’m really fond of. This one pertaining to Montessa. Now, I don’t ship Montessa so apologizes if that isn’t the popular ship name, but it’s the only one I know. Anyway, the point of this post is that I’ve seen a lot of takes on how these two broke it off and why, and I wanna give my own two sense on it(because, yes I do ship Ferbnessa, it’s my OTP).
So, basically I imagine Monty and Vanessa broke it off a few month into the 2009 school year taking place after the series in summer 2008-just like Vanessa and Johnny, they did not last long. I don’t imagine they got into a fight or anything. I kinda see it as the same reason Charlene and Heinz broke it off. Monty and Vanessa just kind of drifted apart due to differing interest and finding themselves. I mean their relationship did kind of start as a rebellion against their fathers, and by the end of the PnF series Vanessa and Heinz are on way better terms, so it make sense she’d change her mind about wanting to rebel so fiercely. Of course, I do think one other thing played a major factor in their break up; Carl.
Yep, I’m a Carl x Monty shipper! And, I have fallen in love with the idea that Monty was a closeted homosexual when he was dating Vanessa. So, because Vanessa & him are hanging at OWCA headquarters more often, they are also hanging out with Carl more often, which means that Carl & Monty are hanging out more often.
My general point? Monty and Carl started hanging out due to the interning and their shared secrets-because remember Carl knows about Monty & Vanessa-which leads to them befriend and crushing on each other. This crush gets Monty thinking that he’s never felt this way about anyone-even Vanessa-leading to his realization that he is likely homosexual, if anything biromantic/homosexual. Due to their drifting apart-among other things-Vanessa confronts Monty about breaking up at some point during the school year. To which he agrees as he’s realized he wants to be in a relationship with Carl instead. The two go their separate ways relationship wise, but like Charlene & Heinz, are still on friendly terms.
I honestly even love the idea of Vanessa suspecting Monty of having a crush on Carl being one of the driving forces to them breaking up. She starts to notice her and Monty drifting apart and Monty hanging out more with Carl. She puts two and two together when Monty is confessing that he two isn’t that into her anymore, and that something has come up in his life-the experimentation of his sexuality-that has been taking precedent over their relationship.
Vanessa in the show is shown time and time again of being a philosophical person. She likes looking in on herself and needs to to grow. So, I can see her becoming more aware of people like she is with Candace in the beginning of CATU(which I canon takes place at the start of summer 2009), and that leading to Vanessa learning to become more aware of herself. And, I personally think she’d do that best by being on her own for a bit instead of jumping from boy to boy. I know when I got big into dating it was, because I myself was having troubles coming to terms with some things in my life just as Vanessa was having trouble coming to terms with her fathers evil ways. And, that once things settled down-like for Vanessa with Heinz turning a new leaf and leaving evil-I lost the desire to date completely. I was honestly overjoyed for the chance to be independent again without the stress of everything crumbling around me, making me feel desperate and like if I didn’t depend on someone I would be lost at sea.
In summary this headcanon comes very much from my own personal experience as I can truly see the parallels to them and Monty & Vanessa’s relationship. I was even dumped by one of the boys I was seeing during the situation I got this inspiration from, because he had fallen for someone else leading to use drifting apart. Life makes you think and grow in funny or even sad ways sometimes, but the important thing is that you do grow from it, and I think this is a perfect chance for both Monty & Vanessa to grow!

Candessa? ☕
If Ferbnessa didn’t exist (which I actually have an ask about I will answer after this), these two would be my OTP. I’m serious.
Cander/emy (which I say like that bcuz I don’t wanna interrupt people who are searching for that only) is hella cute, but like, imagine Jeremy being Candace’s wingman. And like, you can’t tell me Candace NEVER had a crush on Vanessa - you see how excited she was to get invited to the sleepover?? And you’re telling me it was just because she got to hang out with the cool “girls (plural)”? Pffff there was only ONE girl she wanted to hang out with!!!
And also I may or may not be preparing to post a fic about these two so :DDDD
In conclusion, Candessa is so valid and one of the cutest ships out there. :)

[yes i shall do another: i hope you don't mind!!] vanessa doofenshmirtz
Absolutely! XD Vanessa needs some love on this blog anyway.
1. Sexuality Headcanon: She’s a bisexual who mostly just prefers guys. She gives me that vibe more than Candace does, actually.
2. OTP: Montessa. I like Ferbnessa, too, but Montessa is just so...sweet. I really like all their interactions and stuff, and kinda wish they did more with the Montessa arc as a whole? Monty’s a good character imo, but just doesn’t get the chance to mesh with everyone else. The show kinda changes a bit when he’s around, which is both very interesting, but also something I can see being a turn-off to other fans - which makes sense. But like...Vanessa goes well with a lot of people, it’s insane how compatible she is. But ye - Montessa steals my heart.
3. brotp: I already talked about her and Candace, so let’s talk about her and Perry’s very wonderful little friendship they got going on. Perry’s always got Vanessa’s back and stuff, and Vanessa seems to understand Perry on a similar wavelength to Doofenshmirtz. We should’ve had an episode where Vanessa and Perry REALLY teamed up, and the episodes where they could have were such missed opportunities, because I feel like Perry and Vanessa would be unstoppable.
4. NOTP: Hm...I don’t really have one for this. Gonna have to go on my phone for this one...hm...okay...cool...
...THEY SHIP HER WITH HER DAD?! Oh, gosh, WHY?! WHY?! WHYYYY?!
5. First Headcanon That Pops Into My Head: Vanessa becomes the first female president of the United States - prove me wrong.
6. Favorite Line From This Character: “Curse you, unknown rocket-helmet-transportation thing! (the Inator drops her at her house) Oh, sweet, I'm home. Never mind, unknown rocket-helmet-transportation thing!”
7. One Way in Which I Relate to This Character: I get annoyed with my dad, but ultimately hold him very close to my heart because he’s an awesome human being.
8. Thing That Gives Me Second Hand Embarrassment About This Character: So...you know how the only time in Milo Murphy’s Law that she shows up is to reprimend her dad for not talking to Perry? Trying to tell her dad that Perry can’t apologize because he can’t talk, even though Perry literally wrote to him saying that he misses him without actually apologizing for wronging Doof? Telling her dad he’s being unreasonable when Perry legit was in the wrong in this situation and, again, didn’t bother even saying/writing that he was SORRY, which honestly would’ve saved the tone for that little arc? Yeah.
9. Cinnamon Roll or Problematic Fave: Neither. She’s too badass to be a cinnamon roll, and is the least problematic character in the whole show. I’m guessing cinnamon roll fits her more in this case, but like...she’s a badass. She’s her own category.

Wait since I know we both love us some good Vanessa ships here's a concept: Ferb trying to suppress his crush on Vanessa by just trying to be her friend and do fun things normal friends do with her, only to amplify his feelings in the process. HeheHEHE-
WAIT THAT’S SO CUTE FDSHFJSDHFJKAJSKD gonna put the rest of the answer under the cut bc I know a lot of ppl don’t like Ferbnessa and would rather be salty than just filter out the tag
I lowkey feel like that’s what happened 👀 like obviously Vanessa liked him even when he was a kid, but I don’t think the crush aspect was mutual and Ferb knew that. I love the idea that Ferb was just kinda hanging out with her and Vanessa was just like :))) and Ferb was basically the epitome of heart eyes the entire time. This lowkey also fits really well with my headcanon that they got together at Ferb’s senior prom because Vanessa was volunteering to look after the kids and hand out food or whatever because her dad was a teacher at the school and they needed some extra hands, and they were dancing to the upbeat music together and then the DJ put on a slow song and they were like 👀👀👀 and they danced together :,) if aya hadn’t existed i would have said they got together after ferb was out of college but since aya does exist this is my headcanon what no of course i didn’t come up with this headcanon bc i was sad i missed my own senior prom because the school closed for covid what are you talking about

My Top 10 Ships
I’m not a very romantic sort of guy, I’m not real forgiving to departures from canon, I get easily annoyed at inconsistencies, and I don’t watch much television and movies, so in order for me to ship something, it has to be a GOOD ship. I default toward rejecting ships, so to impress ME, it must be built on logic, and evidence, it’s gotta be something I can suspend my disbelief far enough to accept. And it’s gotta have story behind it, something deep, some hefty emotional weight; if it doesn’t tickle this man’s cold reptilian heart with strong beats and excellent writing, it goes straight to the trash. I absoLUTELY will not stand for any of these weird little cute, pretty, pandering, trashy crack ships that everybody seems to be clumsily throwing characters into. Most ships are trash ships. They are not good ships.
You think your ship is good? You like your ship?
You ship it?
No you don’t.
Get out of here.
You will listen to me. I will tell you. Look at me. I’m the Captain now.
Here are the 10 good ships.
10. The Rocinante, The Expanse
Tumblr media
A resoundingly excellent ship. Unlike most ships you see out there, this thing was actually designed with realistic space combat in mind. It’s got 6 computer-controlled gatling turrets covering every angle, it accelerates in whatever direction it’s pointing, its bridge is right in the center to put as much armor as possible between enemies and crew, overall a much better-designed vehicle than most everything you see about.
That being said, I didn’t have much connection to this ship. Its crew weren’t really interesting, the aesthetic was kinda bleak, and I basically stopped watching after the phazon showed up. And the Rocinante itself has pretty poor redundancy. Enemy bullets can literally just pass through it (as is realistic for a ship this size) so how about multiple main engines huh? Absolutely tragic oversight. And its interior looks too much like an Apple product. How are you supposed to work on it? Where are the wires and pipes??? The handholds?????
9. Ares IV M.A.V., The Martian
Tumblr media
Almost more of a symbol than a ship. A symbol of freedom, of escape. A beautiful symbol. This is what Mark Watney spends the whole movie trying to reach, with an entire world backing him up, and an entire world trying to stop him. It’s the goal of the movie, and it just looks so beautiful when he finally reaches it and sees it sitting there in the middle of the desert, ass down, nose up; a tall, proud symbol. This ship has a special significance for me because the author of the original book really did his research on the scientific requirements and details of a Mars Ascent Vehicle, and it was actually inspired by the E.R.V. in another book, ‘A Case For Mars’, which I read when I was younger. “Makes its own methane-oxygen fuel on-site by using nuclear power to break down CO2 in the atmosphere and combining it with stored hydrogen, don’t you know.” I say as I adjust my spectacles and puff my pipe.
The M.A.V. in the movie does have a few issues, such as hallway and rooms running straight up through where the fuel tanks ought to be (instead of a lift/ladder on the exterior) and a rugged, industrial aesthetic that looks too heavy and cumbersome for a ship of its type. (And you’re seriously telling me he couldn’t have used the capsule’s RCS to literally bypass the movie’s entire climax? WHY NOT? The book never mentioned him having to drain the monopropellant!!!) But I’ll let that slide. Great movie.
8. Biggest Boy, The Greatship
(I don’t know the ship name so I had to make up a name. You know what, I think it’s actually just called the Greatship.)
Tumblr media
So it’s a starship the size of Jupiter, empty, unmanned, perfectly mysterious, that comes gliding into the galaxy a couple million years into humanity’s future. Where did it come from? Who made it and how? Good questions. It’s powered by matter-antimatter annihilation reactions from within planet-sized internal tanks, and its engines use hydrogen and fusion exhaust as reaction mass, and its hull is made of hyperfiber, a super-strong fictional material with a 4-dimensional lattice structure, able to weather impacts by spreading them out over various dimensions where the impact occurred in a different place.
I hope that after the first few entries, you didn’t get the impression that I am somehow against futuristic, far-out, impossible technologies. Quite the opposite! I love me some hyperdrive and anti-gravity and A.I. and stuff. However! Ships must be well-designed for the technology available, and must take no creative liberties except those explicitly allowed by the difference in the setting. The laws of physics don’t disappear when the magic crystals come out, the magic crystals are merely a different tool to combat them. Engineering will always exist, should start with the tools and work outward, form follows function. Star Wars ships, for instance, are trash because they don’t mount their repulsorlift arrays consistently, they’re not aerodynamic, and their engines aren’t aligned around their center of masses.
So I like the Great Ship. Although the story is pretty far-fetched, and a lot of crazy, out-there scifi events transpire deep in the ship’s depths, the book always strictly kept its own rules in mind, and never broke those rules, no matter how outlandishly crazy things got. Thanks for comprehending something so incomprehensible, Robert Reed. You inspired me miles in my own work.
7. The Ghost, The Sea Wolf
Tumblr media
The story may be fiction, but the Ghost was as real as ghosts can be.
Jack London did his research. No, not research, he LIVED this. The Ghost is a seal-hunting schooner much like one that he served aboard during his rollercoaster of a life, and he captured every detail of its operation, of its requirements, of its mechanics, and of the incredible toll it took on the people that lived such a life. The boat is made to feel as oppressive and claustrophobic as a prison, as if it were an extension of the monster that commanded it, directly in contrast to the expansive beauty of the sea around them. My goodness, what a beautiful book. What a moving, interesting, challenging book, with such a story! This book is one of the climaxes of fiction, and one of the inspirations for Shifting Sands, if I remember correctly. I would recommend this book to anybody. Beautiful.
6. Ferbnessa, Phineas and Ferb
Tumblr media
Okay, so I hope we can all agree that Vanessa is nothing but bad news. But that being said, Ferb knows exactly the relationship he wants, and by golly, he goes for it. Most male characters would stutter or get nervous or lose confidence around their crush, especially if that crush is about a hundred miles out of their league or if they already had another boyfriend, but Ferb? No. Not my man Ferb. He’s slighly too much of a legend to fall for such childish pitfalls. He doesn’t posture, he doesn’t creep or flirt or try to sabotage the other men in her life, he doesn’t even speak a word, he just maintains his blank expression, cranks his own already-inhuman levels of confidence and competence up through the roof to borderline olympian levels, and continues being himself. These rare moments of Ferbly passion are some of the few open windows we get into the grandiose machinations of his mysterious mind, and he uses it to bring out the best in Vanessa as well. And in the future episode, set years down the line, wouldn’t you know it, they’re a pair.
All joking aside though, this whole ship is basically comedy. It’s a super small part of the show, it’s only in like 5 episodes, it’s a running gag, it’s hilarious. It’s great. And it fits right into the tone and the feel of the show, because P&F’s entire world really is a comedy about going for it and living your dreams. So this is just the best thing ever. It’s been about a decade since then, and I still burst out laughing at how much of a pristine picture of ideal masculinity Ferb is. Become like Ferb, boys, and you will become men.
Legendary.
Eat your heart out, Dipper.
3. Shunk, Voltron
(I don’t know the ship name so I had to make up a name)
Tumblr media
Huge props to the voltron team for making a female alien character (even a romantic interest) with NO BOOBS. Do you have ANY idea how sick and tired I am of artists throwing a big ol’ pair of balonkadongs onto lobsters and snakes when almost everything in the real world besides folks and cows have either 0 or 8+ of them? Everything’s gotta be traditionally sexy and recognizably-feminine and GREAT now you just canonized all the porn! Disgusteg
but now look at Shay. She’s a rock person. She’s got silicon-based biology, she probably weighs 500 lbs and bleeds sand. She’s got enormous hands and weird knees and no nose and lumps everywhere, AND YET STILL the show plays all the tropes 100% straight with her being a fair young maiden and a sweet princess. And it works because Hunk is just this great guy who’s exactly as sweet and caring, and he’s not the most attractive of the Paladins either, so he probably lives his life looking past appearances. He doesn’t care that she’s an alien rock, he cares about her as a person, and she obviously worships him right back. Even though Shay is shown in season 1 and then never again until season 7, Hunk still avoids alternative romantic entanglements, citing ‘a rock I know’, and it just adds to his persona as this infinitely loyal teddy bear. I tip my hat to this, the single ship I know that’s 0% sexy and 100% wholesome.
And Hunk is the best Paladin. He’s just the greatest. I revere him. I salute him as he walks past. This man among men. Look at this guy. I don’t even care about any of the other ships in Voltron (I mean, the Castle of Lions is okay, but it’s outriggers are kinda spindly) but Hunk and Shay deserve each other.
4. Wendip, Gravity Falls
Tumblr media
So Dipper’s 12/13, and Wendy’s 15. That’s a pretty giant age difference. Maybe you fans have fooled yourselves into thinking it’s not, but it is. She knows it. He knows it. His sister knows it. Your mom knows it. So halfway through the show, when he finally got around to confessing his feelings to her, she told him no. Sure they’re still friends, sure they like each other, and sure they have a lot of chemistry and they still have a movie night every Friday, but at the end of the day, he’s a smelly little midget who has to go back to California at the end of the Summer, and she’s a older girl with approximately zero romantic feelings for him. So the notion that it could work out is pretty obvious to everyone, and especially to him, pretty much hopeless. And he really did handle it all pretty poorly and immaturely too, he objectified her and stalked her and simped up a storm and sabotaged her boyfriend, so perhaps he deserved what he got. Perhaps it’s better this way.
And yet.
And yet Wendy never really got a happy ending in the show. And Dipper never got a conclusive romance either. So after everything, it’s easy to think about it how he thinks about it, by wondering how things could have been, if everything were just so slightly different, if she’d said yes or if they united again. She wishes she could be younger, he wishes he could be older. She’s more dominant, he’s more recessive. She has a lot of serious issues in her life, and could really seriously use a driven, heroic, intelligent friend to help her out, give her purpose, and steer her right. And Lord knows he could use somebody with street smarts and actual muscles to have his back now and again. They complement each other perfectly. They make up for each others’ weaknesses. They’re everything they ever wanted from another, and if you do the math, their children would be actual literal supersoldiers.
Or at least that’s the way a lot of people see it. There’s been immeasurable mountains of fanfiction and fanart from people who are just so sad that in a show full of happy endings and dreams coming true and old regrets being resolved and children growing up, that one ending would never be happy, one dream would never come to pass, one regret would stick with you forever, one child would never grow up. Maybe if you extrapolate out the story they’d end up together? Or maybe they’d find other, better partners? Maybe romance isn’t all that important in the grand scheme of things, and this is the best ending there could have been? Perhaps, perhaps not. But in any case, there’s a lot of very rich storytelling potential for the untold journey before them, and for the paths that could have been.
Stop drawing fetish art of Wendy, you insufferable heathen actual donkeys.
3. Kataang, Avatar: The Last Airbender
Tumblr media
Now HERE’S a serious relationship. Not just a romantic ship, (though it is that,) not just some cutesy, funny thing or some ship-war fodder, (though it is cute and funny and did spawn a ship-war,) not just a matter of certainty and destiny, (though it is certain and was destined,) this is a real, TANGIBLE relationship, that these characters built together over a solid year of on-screen adventuring and fighting. They’ve helped each other through trauma, they’ve been there for each other in their darkest moments, they learned martial-arts together, they’ve fought back-to back against grown men, they’ve worked front-to-front sawing through steel girders, they’ve saved each other’s lives, he once ACTUALLY DIED and she brought him BACK. They end up respecting each other, and valuing each other in the intimate way that only true friends do.
And they’re shown working through all their imperfections and mistakes too. Aang sometimes oversteps boundaries and says stupid stuff because he’s a kid, and Katara sometimes scolds him and controls him because she’s motherly and orderly, they get jealous of each other, but none of those things drive them apart, and they deal with them, and they conquer them, and they keep a very legitimate and multi-faceted friendship going, and that’s the key to it all. The fact that this friendship becomes romance is just proof that it was a friendship of quality.
I think people tend to overlook or forget this ship because the last few episodes of the show found them in a pretty dark place, needing to deal with matters of life and death and justice in very different ways, and unlike all their other issues, we don’t really get to see them reconciling these differences before the story ends, which kind of leaves a sour taste between them. And Katara goes on a couple missions with Zuko around the same time, so now half of all people want Zutara, when in actuality, Zutara is a trash ship, which is a true science fact.
2. Serenity, Firefly
Tumblr media
Only reason this ship isn’t #1 is because it isn’t constructed using a proper aerospace philosophy; it’s made of bulky machinery and steel beams and chunky plates, it looks more like an ocean vessel from the inside, and is WAY too big for its 6-12 person crew and light cargo capacity. Plus it doesn’t have any room for fuel and its got no wheels on its landing legs and no downward-facing windows and its reactor is just too dang SMOL and its engines are attached too flimsily. This all wouldn’t be too much of an issue if they were going for a far-future aesthetic, but if you’re trying to do something grounded and semi-contemporary, you need to lose some weight girl, I’m sorry.
But by gosh does it make up for it in heart. The entire inside of this ship was mapped out and made on set, with so many homely little decorations and touches to make every room feel like the person who inhabits it, sterile professional blue for the doc’s medbay, warm happy red for Kaylee’s engine room, all-serious-business-but-also-plastic-dinos for Wash’s cockpit... It hit me hard when this baby it crashed in the movie, and it felt almost real when River pretended to mind-meld with it. This ship has more soul in one buffer panel than most shows have in the entire cast, enough to make it seem like its own character, even in a show crowded with charming characters. I love this ship intimately, even if I would have built it differently.
1. Colonial Vessel 46.18′\, Gravity Falls
(I don’t know the ship name so I had to make up a name)
Tumblr media
You didn’t think I’d leave out this one, did you? After all the fanfiction I’ve written? This is basically my ship at this point. Anyway, enough about me; the vessel beneath Crash Site Omega really is the quintessential alien ship; its perfectly cliche flying-saucer design taps into all the audience’s pre-existing fanciful notions and imaginings and disbelief-suspension, meanwhile its presentation isn’t cliche or fanciful in the slightest.
There’s not much to say about it from a technical standpoint, besides personal musings: it would need anti-gravity to stay airborne without thrusters, it would need a FTL drive to cross the distances it did, its drones would need to be made of some kind of semi-liquid to move like they do... But these sort of out-of-the-box, never-before-seen, world-expanding brain-knocks are exactly what makes this ship special. It’s an alien ship, built with technology unknown to people, forged from materials that people don’t possess, and inhabited by beings we will never meet. For all we know, this ship could be perfectly sound from an engineering standpoint, and no engineer in the audience could claim to prove it otherwise, because unlike something like the T.A.R.D.I.S., they never try and fail to explain it away with science buzzwords or canonize its details or show off some fancy glowy reactor. This ancient husk is left as a yawning pit in reason, and that’s beautiful.
Moreover, this ship is an amazingly powerful narrative tool, and a mind-blowing surprise to drop in as a setpiece during the show’s final episodes. This ship embodies everything that made the show’s mysteries special: the evidence presented so early and so consistently, the creativity in creature design, action, and worldbuilding, the yawning depths of unknowable lore, and most of all the burning, unquenched desire to know more... The imprint this ship made in the cliffs over the town has been hanging over the characters’ heads the entire series, and its hull was below their feet from day one, so when they finally revealed it, and explored it, it felt invigorating. Rewarding. This ship, and the glorious feelings and thoughts it represents, have inspired to no end, and haven’t ended yet.
Honorable mentions:
Westley and Buttercup, The Princess Bride
Tumblr media
Ooooh man I tell you what, it was really hard trimming this down to 10 for the list, and this one just barely didn’t make the cut, and that mainly because I have a sweet spot for animation and for warrior women, and this sweetness ain’t animated, and this damsel is as distressed as they get. And they don’t have a whole lot of chemistry? I don’t know how to measure that, but I feel like there was a lot of friendship stated that was never shown? Is it sacrilege to say that about True Love? I guess I’ve never exactly had True Love, so what do I know?
The entire plot centers around his devotion to her, and her love for him, and the lengths they go to for one another. He studies fencing and wrestling and wits and tactics for years on a pirate ship as he tried to return to her, and she refused the advances and the offers of an actual prince for as long as she could, even though she thought him dead, and was ready to kill herself when she knew him to be alive and not to be hers. And just such excellent action and characters and humor and story in the entire book surrounding it. Possibly an even better movie, somehow. Happy happy happy happy. They don’t make movies like this no more, why is that? Sad.
Endurance, Interstellar
Tumblr media
Actually a pretty realistic design, all considering. They nailed the aesthetic, and the cinematography, and the feel.
It does lose points though, firstly because the shuttlecraft require a booster stage to make it into orbit when leaving Earth, but for the rest of the movie, whenever they’re landing on planets with similar gravity and atmosphere, they can just fly away like it’s no big deal, which is a big inconsistency, both with real life, and more importantly with itself. And how did an under-equipped and struggling space program put this thing in orbit in the first place, anyway? And why don’t their ships land on their asses like proper rockets? And why not tell the crew members the full plan before leaving? See, it’s little things like that, little inconsistencies made for the sake of fitting with story beats and simplifying it for the audience’s sake, that sours this ship for me. I don’t mind creative liberties, but actual plot holes? This thing has a few plot holes, and plot holes are absolutely yucky. So although most of this ship is very yummy, the yucky parts make it all yucky.
Yucky.
Plus its heavy cargo shuttles are about the least-aerodynamic things imaginable, and that’s also yucky, and there’s porcelain tiles in the stasis bay, like what?
Couldashouldawoulda been yummy.
The Hermes, The Martian
Tumblr media
This ship. This friggin’ ship.
A beautiful ship. A well-conceived ship. A mathematically sound and engineered ship. It had so many many good ideas behind it. So much math went into calculating its thrust and orbital dynamics for this movie, so much work went into making it fit a contemporary space aesthetic, the panels, the heat sinks, the tanks, so much PRESENTATION I could KISS IT HMWA, but taken as a whole, engineering-wise, the whole ship falls flat on its face, because it just doesn’t fit together. It doesn’t make sense. Look at all those countless modules along its length. What do they do? They don’t do anything! It’s a quarter mile long, and it’s built for only 6 people? It’s meant to carry a lander? Where does the lander dock? Why are the useful airlocks so far off the center of gravity? Why does it have a cockpit? Why is the forward airlock so looooong? Why is the entire ship so loooooong? Why is the ring spinning so slowly? It’s not hard math to figure out how fast it needs to spin! You’re telling me you did ORBITAL DYNAMICS but not the SINGLE physics 101 equation needed to figure out how fast the ring needs to spin??
Btw, let’s talk about that rotating section in the middle! Think about the rotating section! That rotating section means that the front and the back of the ship aren’t actually connected! There’s just a pair of ring-shaped slip-slidey bearings bridging the ship’s middle, slip-slidey bearings that electricity, computer signals, and water and air pipes can’t cross. Why did they design it that way?? In the book the entire ship spun, which makes so much more sense! Why does it have solar panels when it has a reactor canonically capable of 40 times their output? Why are the fuel tanks so small? Why is it always facing prograde even when canonically burning retrograde? Why? WHY? BLRRRRGGGGGRGGGRGGG
In Conclusion, Ships Are Neat

Decided to I'd let you know all the P&F and MML ship names cuz why not (or at least the important ones/ones ppl ship the most) Phineas and Ferb ships: Phinabella- Phineas x Isabella Ferbnessa- Ferb x Vanessa (yes this is a real ship, as far as I know noone ships then when they are young just when they're adults you'll see why when you finish the series) Candremy- Candace x Jeremy Candenessa- Candace x Vanessa Perryshirmtz- Perry x Heniz Bujeet- Buford x Baljeet (1/?)
Milo Murphys Law ship names: (these aren't as important seeing as you aren't watching this show right not and you probably don't know most of these characters names)  Dakavendish- Dakota x Cavendish (also knowns as the pistachio protecters and the pistachio gays) Milomanda- Milo x Amanda Zalissa- Zack x Melissa Milissa- Milo x Melissa Zilo/Milack- Milo x Zack Bardlissa- Bradley x Melissa Bradilo- Bradley x Milo I think those are all the main ones (2/3) P&f and MML ships (3/3) Ok for this last one i just wanted to mention there ofc other ships but I couldn't find the ship names for them (suck as Candace x Stacy or Vanessa x Monty) or I don't see them as important or don't really want to mention those  Also I feel like I should mention that in Milo murphy's law there is a character (the before mentioned Bradley from the last ask) that falls in love with an ice cream machine. Two others are in love with a desk and a milk carton.
Phinabella is VERY GOOD TO KNOW I LOVE THEM. *^*
That second one, I am... aware is a real ship. Eh. Guess they can’t do everything right, but I digress.
Candace and Jeremy is actually, ya know, not bad. It’s not a thing I am invested in, but far as “heteronormative ships I will have to sit through because canon” go, it’s pretty okay.
But Candace and Vanessa are Candessa, not Candenessa; like, one of those is the tag where I found all the shiny ship art, the other is literally empty on here. xD”
I won’t even pretend to be surprised that people ship Heinz and Perry. *snorts amused*
I have very mixed feelings on Buford in general, like... it’s weird to see a bully and his victim be... in the same friends group?? Very, very strange. xD
And yeeeah all of those MML ones I have literally no sense of recognition at all yet and won’t be for a while considering there’s like 200 more episodes of P&F to watch first... xD”
I’m not even gonna ask about the inanimate objects...
Thanks for the list! <3

My shipyard - post version
The following is a post version of my subpage, since apparently, on mobile they cannot be accessed (because why would they, it’s tumblr...). Always refer to that page for the latest updates.
This is a collection of ships I ship (English is a wonderful language…), listed by the show they’re from.
Bold ships indicate pairings I not only ship, but I have written for in the past (i.e. I have put words in sentences, and then mixed those sentences to create what some people insist on calling “stories”)
Italicised ships are those ships I haven’t written for, and I would like to, if someone, say, requests it when I open the prompt floodgates.
Regular ships are, well, regular. I don’t plan on writing for them, but I do let out the tiniest of “aww”, when I see them.
If a ship doesn’t exist on this list, that doesn’t mean I don’t ship them - I might have forgotten about it. I do not ship incestuous ships at all.

This case is a bit different here: while I certainly enjoy the games, I have stopped watching the anime a loooong time ago, and only caught random episodes here or there. So, while I could attempt, say, write Pokeshipping, I would need to BS my way around various plotpoints or so (the again, Ash seems to be immortal, so nothing really develops). I’d be much more willing to try some game-verse stuff, like ships between protagonists, or protagonist/gym leader, etc. If you are curious, just ask :)

Ferbs
Ferbs ‘Ferb’ Fletcher… I may have done him before, but may as well do it now even if so.
favorite thing about them: Probably the fact that he’s able to be quiet and introverted and not have a huge deal be made out of it.
least favorite thing about them: Nothing comes to mind?
favorite line: I enjoyed when he basically was trolling for the whole episode in Operation Crumb Cake.
brOTP: Hmm, I should have a super obvious answer, IDK who though… okay fine Phineas, how can you not? I also really love whatever we get with Candace, and I appreciate him and Baljeet hanging out and sharing nerdy stuff.
OTP: I don’t really have one big Ferb ship, amazingly. :v
nOTP: Don’t really have anything?
random headcanon: I think I’ve discussed this before but I like the idea that when he’s in England he not only speaks to Phineas frequently, maybe even more than that, but that he ends up meeting up with Mishti since I like the idea of having someone his age he can still hang out with in England.
unpopular opinion: I’m not crazy about Ferbnessa like many fans seem to be. I just don’t really see much reason to pair them together when they’ve only had like three episodes of proper interaction.
song i associate with them: insert song sung by ferbs here
favorite picture of them: Courtesy of a friend of mine ;P

(PnF) Headcanon #5 Main Cast Shipping
This post pertains slightly to the prior post #4 & #3. You don't need to read those to understand this post, but if you want some extra background info, then I suggest you check them out. Anyway, as the title implies, this post is all about ships involving the main cast and side characters in their age group(8-12). I have plans for a similar post involving the older characters; both teenagers(13-18) as well as the adults(19-Onwards), but those will come at a later time. For now, I am going to cover the who, when, and why of the main cast-relationship wise-, please enjoy! Before we get started I just want to make two things clear: First, these are my personal opinions as is true of every post I make. I respect that your opinions may differ, so please respect mine. I would thoroughly appreciate it :>! Second, I find AYA(Act Your Age) to be an atrocious episode canonicity wise, and so I have completely thrown it out of my personal PnF Universe timeline. So, while reading this post, I highly suggest you ignore that episode as well. Starting with the most popular and well-known ship, Phinbella(also known as Phinabella): As most are, I am absolutely in love with the canon ship Phinbella! I feel like Isabella & Phineas balance one another out really well, and you can just tell their feelings run deep! When(Referring to Age/Grade): [12/Seventh grade] In my timeline Phineas & Ferb permanently regain their memories of the events of Across the 2nd Dimension when they are twelve/thirteen(2010). With that of course comes Phineas remembering that Isabella kissed him revealing her feelings for him. So, with that knowledge, Phineas asked Isabella out. Why(Referring to Why I Ship the Characters): Through re-watching Phineas & Ferb several times, I honestly get the vide that Phineas has been just as in love with Isabella since the very beginning. I won't insert my list of reason here or anything, but as a small example; The boy straight up tries to get Monogram to halt the mind wipe after happily exclaiming Isabella's name AFTER being kissed by her. Need I say more? Anyway, my point is that I believe that kiss sparked a revaluation in Phineas that he was in fact in love with Isabella, so when he remembers it he remembers his feelings, and immediately reciprocates her feelings by ask her out. Ferbnessa: It's only appropriate to cover the duo one after the other, so next I'm gonna talk about my ship for Ferb which is also my OTP; Ferb x Vanessa! When: [16-21/High School Sophomore-Fourth Year of College] As the show clearly portrays, Ferb has a severe crush on Vanessa, and that proceeded through his life. As for Vanessa, I very much enjoy the idea of her being a close friend of Ferbs after the events of Vanessary Roughness. As the two get older and hangout more, their feelings obviously grow as well. Eventually, when Ferb is sixteen-*legal age of consent in over 30 states*-he ask Vanessa out. To which she agrees having grown close to him over the last couple of years. Why: For Ferb, I honestly get the feeling that he's never actually fallen for anyone before Vanessa-despite his claims of being a ladies man-, considering the flowers and stuff that are special to HER. So, I picture him at first being scared of them, as he calls himself weak when referring to them. But, eventually being so unable to ignore them that he gives in, to the point he doesn't even try to hide his intentions. Doing whatever he can to gain a positive relationship with Vanessa, and being willing to just enjoy her company. As for Vanessa, I think at first she was just impressed by Ferbs' talents and genuinely thankful when he offered to help or hear her out. But, as they hang out more and more, I picture her getting more used to this special kind of attention that Ferb provides, and deciding that she doesn't want to let it go and regret it later-leading to her accepting his feelings. * Disclaimer: I want to make it VERY clear the age of consent does not legally apply to pedophilic(adults romantically/sexually pursuing minors)relationships! It is merely mentioned as the logic of the characters. Do not, and I mean, do NOT engage in a relationship with a minor if you are an adult and vise versa. That is ILLEGAL. Laws against pedophilic relationships exist to PROTECT minors from dangerous adult predator's. If you(a minor)have romantic feelings for someone eighteen or older WAIT to pursue a relationship, if you or the adult in question can not wait you do NOT/can NOT be in that relationship. These characters are purely FICTIONAL. They do not abided by the rules of reality and only suffer from such relationships if written to. In FICTION, they are as safe as I write them to be. We as people are restricted to reality, and must remember laws exist to PROTECT us from dangerous people, objects, and substances. Thank you.
Buford/Gretchen: This ship just seems like it would be so wholesome in the future after Buford gets over his bully lifestyle, and becomes the soft-hearted, mama's boy we all know he is. When: [16/High School Junior] Basically, Buford makes a bet with Baljeet that he can get a date to the Junior High Dance before Baljeet can muster of the courage to ask Ginger. He then proceeds to turn around and ask the one girl known for going with the flow; Gretchen. Gretchen accepts, because again, she goes with the flow. The two have a great time at the dance, and Buford decides to ask if she wants to try dating. Gretchen accepts and the two date all the way up to high school graduation and into college. Why: Truthfully, this ship started because of that one time Buford gets slapped by Gretchen, and says he's 'so in love with her right now'. But, the more I thought about the two's personalities the more I realized that they were honestly pretty good for each other. Gretchen being a go with the flow kind of girl, while also being collected and down to earth. And, Buford being a dramatic, coward with a hard shell. It just made since to be, and I think as they mature, they make that connection as well. Baljeet/Ginger: I hate how this ship was portrayed as manipulative in AYA. It is neither a healthy relationship or accurate to either of these twos character. I mean they're two misunderstood scholars from demanding family backgrounds! They would sympathizes with each other, not play with each other's feelings! When: [13/Eighth Grade] Ginger ends up asking Baljeet out after the two participate in a spelling bee and tie. It would just be adorable! After Isabella starts dating Phineas, the fireside girls start working on helping Ginger, and make her enter the same spelling be a Baljeet to impress him. Then when he comes up to congratulate her for winning, instead of returning the praise. She sees her friends thumbing her up, and overwhelmed, she just spurts out; "Take me to dinner?!" In nervous confusion Baljeet agrees, the two have a wonderful time, and start going out! Why: I've been in love with this ship since the bee episode where Ginger showed true interest in Baljeet's knowledge of bees. It was like the only time anyone showed genuine appreciation for his intelligence instead of finding him boring. And, the whole thing was only made cuter by how he seemed not only happy to share, but pleasantly surprised by her positive reaction. Django/Adyson: The fandoms versions of these characters would be so fun together! I mean the open-minded hippie artist, and the drama-loving tomboy? It's comedy gold if you ask me. When: [10/Fifth Grade] Django and Adyson started hanging out more back in the summer of 2008 after the carnival incident, and by the end of the summer they were official. Though, no one in their friend group knew until their Freshman year of High School. They weren’t keeping it a secret or anything. Adyson just usually causes so much drama for others they rarely have time to bother with her ‘drama’, and Django is always somewhere doing something that the other boys don’t know about so they don’t question him much. Why: This ship was inspired by some fanart I saw a couple years back of Adyson helping Django out of his human pretzel form after his act in the episode Jerk De Soleil. It was like the first ship I saw for Django, and when I started seeing the headcanons of both of them being pansexual, well the combination made the ship look so fun! Balthazar/Holly: These two are the straight men of the PnF Universe. Things more happen to or around them, then things happening in conjunction to their actions. They bond over asking themselves 'is this real life' on a daily basis. When: [11/Sixth Grade] I imagine Balthazar has a pretty bizarre friend group akin to the fireside girls, and much like Holly, he's the straight man who doesn't want to be involved in their shenanigans. So, one day when both their friend groups are doing something bizarre, they sit out. While watching their friends try their hair brained schemes, they run into each other, and start complaining to one another. One thing leads to another, and they agree to hang out again. By the end of the school year, this hanging out eventually evolves into a relationship. Why: I mainly ship these two, because back when I was looking for popular ships involving Holly, Balthazar was the only one that showed up. He doesn't have much of a characters, so I gave him one I thought would suit Holly. Brigitte/Katie: A Parisian flower with an American flower, sounds utterly adorable, and looks that way too! When: [15/High School Sophomore] Katie and Brigitte started having feelings for each other in Sophomore year of High School when they participated in a collaboration program once more. Brigitte helped Katie accept herself when she admitted that she was afraid of telling her parents that she was homosexual, and returned the blondes feelings when Katie confessed to having a crush since the first time they met back in the summer of 2008. Why: Honestly, I saw this two and immediately thought of that one trope; Where one girl is a closeted lesbian until some super pretty, super hot proudly lesbian, foreign girl shows up and takes the closeted one under her wing then BAM they a couple. Irving/Milly: Milly's such a sweet sugar cookie, I think she's the only person who COULD be in a long-lasting relationship with Irving. When: [21/College Graduates] While the two bonded during their time on the High School newspaper together, Irving was pretty stand offish about dating-He didn't know he was asexual yet. Milly did have a tiny crush on him, but his dismissal of most things outside of the club kept her from attempting anything. It wasn't until the two graduated from their respective college that Milly finally felt comfortable enough to try pursuing a relationship. Irving was aware and comfortable with his sexuality at this point, and when it didn't bother Milly, he agreed to going out. Why: Milly is just such a kind-hearted person who looks like she could love anyone, and Irving deserve love too, even if he is a bit of a stalker-he mellows out! So, I think they would be good for each other whether it be as friends or partners. Milly being accepting of Irving, and Irving learning to tone it down as not to scare Milly. In summery, I could go on forever about most of these ships, but I won't for everyone's sake-at least not right now. As usual, if I write about these characters then I will use these ships. If you have any questions or comments feel free to leave them on the post, thank you!
