smth smth rambles that are entirely my opinion and i could be wrong (so dont attack me) you know this chapter made guda, fuijmaru ritsuka with already Many Issues worse is because of "mash" or rather kyrie's death but ultimately comes back to mash...that dantes did for them.

we even see a while back how guda was already shaken by not knowing whether mash is safe during lb6 after that fog like their priority is mash. mash.

they were already frantic as soon as they remembered mash almost questioning everyone about her whereabouts and immediately got reckless just trying to reach her at norwich. and when only when they were together did the "narrator" emphasize on the sheer relief guda felt like-- wow the obvious signs in OC chapter 2 makes you realize furthermore that guda's sanity hangs on a thin thread named 'mash' asdfgh

yes guda loves mash!! yes they care about her!!! but look and read at how guda tells absolutely nothing to mash- and that applied the same to kyrie!

kyrie wanted to know and ask her senpai about the situation like we see her really wanting it but ultimately backtracking in the end because she trusts guda and she's even supportive. and guda was grateful/relieved that she stays innocent about the weird things going on in their tokyo.

they do compromise at one point that if kyrie really demands on explanations, guda would tell her but...

guda doesnt tell her anything, (kyrie believes in her senpai so even when faced with death, kyrie didnt break under pressure) keeps her in the dark so no one comes after her. for her to be ultimately safe. so she remains...innocent, normal who stands alongside "mama" and "little sister" as they arent involved in the first place about whats been happening. and guda wants to keep it that way for their family. not a real family, but a family nonetheless that cared about guda. an epitome of normal- which mash kyrielight has attained.

and now you see guda, who, upon waking up asks mash kyrielight if she was okay. if she was alright. guda doesnt stop their questions until mash answered. and so mash answered.

"I'm okay, Senpai. My vital signs are normal... so I'm completely okay."

all the while guda had just dismissed being in pain literally one minute ago and just hugged her tight. they "save mash the trouble" to tell her about the pains they went through in the singularity so as not to burden mash. so they stuff their pain inside the corner of their heart again, completely satisfied with mash's safety and disregarding their own health. (you also see in section 23 that theyre cherishing the normal and small moments with mash.)

mash is normal. mash looks pure to guda, her heart filled with "color" in comparison to guda whose heart has become "transparent". an inverse character development which will ultimately destroy them both.

for mash, who sees her Senpai as strong and unwavering, the image of kindness and strength when they held her hand during part 1 crushed by a coffin which she continues to believe them to be that way until now.

for guda, who sees mash as someone who's become normal. one last remnant that reminds them of a past life lost, mash with that purity and normalcy becoming an ideal to protect (as if she was glass) because they no longer have their own. (and mash is also literally the only one left close to guda, who remembers all the events of part 1. which... adds more to how losing mash would break guda even further.)

(also we see guda say 'tadaima' coming home to an empty house, the loss of kyrie and their family still in mind, and a little later, the Avenger mindset comes back and settles in as they're plagued by bloodlust. then when guda comes back to mash, their home, mash is their home. do you realize that? do you realize what im saying? mash says: "welcome home, senpai." and that was enough for guda. that eased everything in guda's tumultuous heart.)

i remembered guda avoiding on telling "mom" that they and kyrie were near the "gas leak site" / britoalter's battleground so like.....of course their lying to medical staff about getting back to the battlefield would carry over here.

deliberately making sure the "normal" components of their fake high school life remain untainted is what we see guda do. they shouldered everything, terrifying as it is, just to protect them but ended up inevitably losing them in the process.

there's also that contrast in seeing a dead body between kyrie and guda. kyrie still stood strong against dantes and remained rational and calm while telling "ojisama" that this wasnt good for guda. meanwhile guda, while still able to think about calling the ambulance after seeing the da vincis absolutely lost their mind when it came to kyrie which their mind thought of mash- and i think guda thought of both as 'one' person so they went absolutely insane right then and there

during the conversation with amatsuka, thats the part where guda became finally stable. because its implied guda's mental state really broke at kyrie's death which their mind automatically thought it to be "=mash is dead". but ukelele-senpai saved the day by reminding guda where they are, if mash and kyrie were the same person, and helping guda calm down and think of seeing that blue sky with mash during the part 1 epilogue.

and augh guda you shit!!! you need therapy!! dont put mash in a pedestal!! dont treat her as if she's fragile!! dont treat her like porcelain meant to be protected while you take on everything for the sake of keeping mash safe because she is the only remnant of your past left, because she is the only "normal" person you have left!!! guda you need to understand that if ever mash gets hurt someday or dies and its out of your control, you need to understand that it wont be your fault!! you need to understand that because someday you will part ways with her as well and you need to be able to be ready to lose again. if you lose mash once and for all, what will you do!?!?!? this is not healthy guda!! gudaaa you hear me!!?? gudaaaaaaa

Doodles || Silver Trio 💚

Drew this on my sticky notes at work during my free time.

I first started sketching Pansy out of boredom and, in the middle of it, got the idea to draw all three of them. Blaise was second (had fun with him) and finished with Draco earlier today.

Somehow I work best on smaller surfaces. My brain goes whoosh when I used a normal a4 paper but immediately got to drawing the moment I pulled out my sticky notes. Probably because there's less pressure to make it /good/.

I didnt include Theo because, to this day, no matter how many hp fics I've read up to this point and even with him as the main love interest in several of those, I still don't have a clear fixed image of him in my head. Personality and appearance wise. And anyways, the Draco-Pansy-Blaise tandem have always been the clearest to me. Their dynamic is just *chefs kiss.

Pansy having to wrangle in her boys while also being a wild, out of control character herself is a fun image. I can see Theo being Draco's bestfriend but not a part of the trio (dont ask me why; it's a dynamic that makes sense to me). He can be the overall handler of the three and oversee their goofiness until it gets to the point that he has to do damage control. Almost always happens when they're in the same general vicinity with the golden trio.

Note: It's my first time drawing Pansy and Blaise so what you're seeing here isn't really my final image of them. I know what I *want* them to look like in my head but I'm still figuring out how to show it properly through my drawing. There might be changes if I draw them again in the future.

okay so goo . goo is like the silliest little goofball ive seen on a web series . he dances with PINECONES and makes and says weird wacky analogies and keeps all of them in little notebook for later use and also made a 3-5 hour film for his best friend bot after they said they wanted a new identity BUT he single-handedly spent like 30mil dollars or something for that but it’s okay hes trying his best !!!!! also he did NOT deserve to be voted out for that i really hope goo and bot reunite btw because they didnt get to talk much right before goo’s elimination and not ONLY that but literally goo got eliminated BEFORE he got to see bot’s transition he doesn’t even know that their name is bot he still thinks its tbd (…like literally. he still thinks their name is literally “tbd” because they said their name was tbd. yeah he’s kinda dumb like that but it’s okay i love him for it/p) as far as i know anyways their silly little meaningful conversation before his elimination that made me cry "yeah,, i liked it !! but.. it was,,. a lot :[ listen goo,, i-i dont need this new identity to be such a big grand spectacle , i just want you to treat me like. llike me . with all the uncertainty lately, it helps everything feel just a bit more,, normal , yknow .?" “oh,, ohfor sure ,! i get it !! it’s like,, you just wanted a slice of cake, and i went and gave you the whole bakery ,:D !!” “hehe, yyup, nailed it !! ,:)” UWAHHHHHHH😭/LH/POS and also he’s apart of an alliance with his bestie called the cheer factory !!!! and they focus on cheering people up and theysure as hell do well at it !!!!! they cheered up clover and the floor ithink yes the floor is a character ssshshshshhsshh / and goo literally lost one of the challengesbecause he laughed at the floor’s joke in order to cheer him up AND HE DID NOT CARE he was just glad he got to cheer somebody up !!!!! “another satisfied customer at the,, CHEER FACTORY !!! :D” LITERALLY HE WAS SO HAPPY and also when goo and bot were separated into two seperate teams goo is IMMEDIATELY sad when he notices bot isnt with him “sigh… i guess the cheer factory has become the.., cheer llc. :[“ I FELT SO BAD FOR THE BOTH OF THEM / but ahemem anyways goo is a silly little goober and that’s why he should be in this competition !!!🎉🎉 also a few extra bonus facts about him (sorry not sorry/lh/silly) 1 . he doesnt have limbs but like he also doesnt write with his mouth . his voice actor said he dances on top of the paper until it leaves a smudge 2 . did i mention he dances with pinecones/silly 3 . he likes fudge sundaes 🎉🎉 4 . his voice actor has made him diss subway before due to a request on one of his livestreams ( “lalalalala- SUBWAY⁉️eat fresh my butt‼️>:[[” ) 5 . hes blue

Shrimp

Ok so Shrimp is public enemy #1 and I love him. He's the funny little guy you see on your loading screen during the game who you don't think much of until eventually you find an asylum on one of the floors of the Upturned Inn and oops! Shrimp is there! And you need to free him to progress, which Ik is alarmed by even though you can also just tell him you didn't see/free Shrimp. You can put a collar on this little guy to make him look snazzy, despite how little he's with you. On the floors where he's friendly he kind of just follows you around, so you get to have a little buddy for parts of the game! He's basically just your pet dog who may or may not be severely dangerous. And by may or may not I mean a definite yes he is, because he turns aggressive when he gets especially hungry. He can eat the food objects scattered around, though, so that's avoidable! He can also stay with you for nice little elevator rides, which does concern Ik, but it works out! until he starts trying to attack you but if you don't feed your dog then I don't care if it attacks you [additional propaganda 1]

my immediate (well its been a whole day and then some, so not really) touhou 19 impressions for all the new characterbelow the read more so beware spoilers!

for context, all my knowledge and understanding of the plot and dialogue comes from a scattered mix of the translated omake, official profiles, a pal explaining this or that line, various different snippets of online talk i saw, and general me absorbing vibes through the screen after playing the game for over seven hours. if i got something wrong, oh well, there will be plenty of time to come to get a clearer picture of everyone!

its neat how the three new animal girls on the cover are all associated with one of the leaders from the animal realm. Although at first i assumed that meant there wouldnt be much to think of them beyond that because i also assumed they came from the animal realm to work with their respective leader. But actually they all come from Gensokyo, and the animal leaders got them to join their cause! That's way more interesting to me, and makes me wonder if all those three's posturing about taking over gensokyo might not just be hot air after all...

All three of them also have either direct or indirect connections to the final boss but i'll get to her later. for now my thoughts of all the newcomers one by one...

son biten 🐵 : okay so when i first saw an image of her, i went 'oh its sun wukong. okay...' and didnt think much of her beyond that, but her story is a lot more funny than that. she was (is) in fact just a normal monkey girl (normal by gensokyo standards) who got into big trouble but was 'saved' by Yachie, who convinced her that she's the legendary sun wukong. Now she proclaims herself as a hero and thinks Yachie, who only wants to use her as a tool, is her best friend. That's a lot more endearing to me than i thought and maybe i am more than a little invested in this bizarre dynamic between monkey and tortoise.

mitsugashira enoko 🐺🐺🐺: pretty similar to Biten's story albeit more straightforwardly charming. she was a regular animal who turned into a monster and was well on her way to becoming a really nasty one at that, but then Saki came along, showed off her back muscles, and was like 'join my gang', and then Enoko calmed down and was happy to do so! its funny but also kinda sweet? but really the most i have to say is that the bear traps on her wrists are funny. the profile and ending images make it seem to me like they do Not come off and those may as well be her hands. I know for sure Saki offered to shake her hand and did not regret it 🤠

tenkajin chiyari 🩸: what a freak!!!!!!! just some lanky, hunched over creature that literally nobody even knows what species she is, who lurks in the deepest depths of hell who loves doing nothing more than gulping up pools of cursed blood in her free time. I thought Momoyo, who lives in a cave and eats rocks was a freak, but Chiyari is on a whole other level. I love her. it's so easy to see how she and Yuuma beccame friends due to their 'common interests'.

yomotsu hisami 🍇: she's so cool!!!!!!! i can't believe she's probably the least revelant out of the newcomers 😂 great design and concept, and her whole thing in nearly every route she appears in is trying to drag you to hell, offering a sweet deal and then happily resorting to force if refused, its so good. Hisami is also technically subservient to the final boss Zanmu (because she's hot) but will also just do whatever she wants and Zanmu just has to deal with that... Speaking of!

nippaku zanmu 👹: i think she's neat 🙂 I mean, like a lot of touhou final bosses, most of their meat comes from their elaborate backstory and someone else will have to comment about how its a cool intepretation of this or that myth. as mentioned, she has at least some form of role whether minor or direct to the backstory of every other newcomer, which is cool and lends a more connective tissue to the cast as a whole, and she's also a big authorative figure in hell! all the different profiles like to emphasize how Zanmu is a planner type who controls everything with guile and information, and the plan she sets in motion in the game's plot mostly goes off without a hitch, even with so many different characters butting heads with one another. The most interesting bit of all this only really comes in at the very very end, where she calls off her plan to take control of everything herself, instead choosing to trust Reimu because she sees her as a kindred spirit. fun to think about the implications of that...

alright [possibly] very long text post incoming! [there will be a handful of pictures maybe]

So! file-583 [stylized as FILE-583] is a webcomic I've been working on for like.... almost 3ish years? It'll be 3 in january :3

It follows the lives of Feck Yaker and Coco Fields, two very different individuals who have been friends for about a decade!

This is them btw! [Feck on the left, Coco on the right]

Basically, Feck went to college for art stuff about 3ish years prior to the plot of 583. But, he drops out and moves to Consdale; where Coco lives! Things are going fine for a while, but after a bit of time goes by Feck seems to have reverted back to his very agoraphobic antisocial tendencies of a few years prior.

Coco, being concerned, asks if he's doing okay and if something happened while he was away at school. He keeps saying that it's fine, but she's still worried. However, her husband, Mono [who is also town mayor], doesn't like how worried over Feck she's been. She says that she'll try not to be so worried, but to little avail.

At some point, she goes to visit Feck and make sure he's still like- alive. Which he is [thankfully]. He seems very apathetic and kind of out of it, but she's just glad to see that he's alive. So she leaves.

And Mono, after finding out that she went to go see Feck, gets very very mad. They get into this big fight, but Mono wins in the end.

Because he fucking kills her.

And he almost instantly realizes what he's done and he's like "oh shit oh fuck" and basically stops functioning entirely. But he has a plan. You see, he's gonna Frame Feck.

And eventually, after a whole mess of hiding evidence and twisting narratives, Feck is framed for Coco's murder. But they can't really... death penalty him. Because he's seeing ghosts.

Or- a ghost.

Who is Coco.

Because she is haunting him.,

And at first he doesn't believe it at all. He's gone crazy- Why would he be haunted, right? But... after a while he just rolls with it.

But he also like. has to go to prison now. and get electroshock therapy bc he is seeing ghosts and that's not normal [mind electric reference].

this is them now !

Anyway so like a bunch of shit happens and like 3 tumblr sexymen are introduced [which are Moth, Mr. E probably, and Sparks]

Who are these 4! [added Mono, since I didn't supply an image earlier]

[im 100% certain on mono and sparks, not so much mr.e and moth].

But the main two im focusing on for this next segment are Moth and Sparks.

Moth is the head of the... asylum? prison.. thing. its a very vague building. He runs the place basically, but he's also a doctor there [mainly for therapy].

Sparks is Feck's electroshock doctor. He's this awkward as fuck british man and... almost immediately upon seeing Feck, knows somethings up. He sorta sees himself in Feck, which eventually drives him to stop giving him electroshock therapy and start actually treating him like a person.

And honestly at this point, Feck will take any shred of decency that someone's willing to give. His whole life he's been made out to be a monster, so for someone to treat him even with the bare minimum is better than nothing.

So Sparks and Feck start forming this sorta bond, and Sparks is starting to lean more into his suspicion that something is up. Feck didnt seem like the type of person to even know how to kill someone, so why would he be here for murder?

And eventually he brings this up with Moth, saying that even if Feck wasn't allowed to leave the prison, he should at least be able to go outside and not be in isolation anymore. And, while Moth agrees deep down, he can't let himself fall into attachment to Feck. So he continually postpones letting Feck out of his treatment, but eventually Sparks and Moth get into a fight and Moth finally caves in.

So things seem to be looking out for Feck! But... something happens. Sparks is forced into a situation where he has to electroshock Feck one more time, and due to his anxiety and overlooking a detail, he ends up injuring Feck.

Because Feck bit his tongue off. Or at least some of it. And he gets very angry at Sparks, almost completely ditching the bond that they had built over the past year or so. And he isolates himself from almost everyone after that. And Sparks feels awful- he feels the absolute worst. He hurt the one person he cared about in this entire facility and they completely abandoned him.

And he gets angry. Slowly. And while he's busy getting angry, Feck is busy trying to figure out an escape. Which, he eventually does.

Once he escapes, he finds Sparks outside. Oooo rain and lightning and dramatic scene at night time.... yeah baby.

Sparks goes on this big monologue about how Feck was gonna leave without saying goodbye, or how he didn't get a chance to apologize. How he was the first person to treat Feck like a person, and... well, yeah Feck agrees.

And Feck apologizes, saying that he feels bad for leaving without apologizing or saying goodbye. He doesn't wanna fight Sparks, he sees no reason to.

So Sparks tries to kill him lol.

And he almost succeeds, he's got Feck right on the brink of death, but... Feck doesn't let him win. He drags Sparks right down with him and they both die.

jk they live [unfuckingfortunately] and volume 1 ends!

thats about it so far! theres some abridged parts and i skipped over some details, but thats because i want those to be revealed when i actually make the comic.

1. When I watch Rainy Days, for some reason I feel like it's super Boy Blue-coded (?) Like idk, the ambiance, the moodiness, the yearning. What era / mv BTS you associate with Boy Blue characters (if any)? Or you can also answer for Collateral, whichever you want!

2. When you write a story, do you begin with like knowing how it's gonna end first or do you build a rough outline of events and then decide the ending? All the endings (if you can call it that) in Boy Blue and Collateral have been so unpredictable (literally I could NOT guess how it was going to end) so I'm just interested. Btw I'm not a writer so I'm sorry if this is a weird question!

this response will contain spoilers, for anyone who hasn’t read these fics!

1. i get such big Boy Blue vibes from Rainy Days Tae!!! both in the way he is burying himself in the art (idk i get this obsessive vibe tbh) and also with how 😐 stoic and serious he seems through a lot of it. i see Boy Blue Taehyung trying so hard to distract himself but all he can see is someone’s face/likeness and he needs to paint it and carve it and build it somehow. and yes, definitely the ambiance and yearning!!! i will definitely be making it his personality in White Lies haha.

originally, i wasn’t really associating their personalities with any era, but Boy Blue Taehyung maybe had hints of Stigma performances (especially with blue hair, of course.) Yoongi and his boys i just imagined in like a Velvet Goldmine crossover almost, and Jungkook was if My Time were a little more punk (and a little more whiny haha.) (Namjoon and Seokjin didn’t really have development lol sorry boys!)

for Collateral, Yoongi was originally from That That, and the others came from any number of eras (Butter maybe, Proof at times.) but because these roles don’t really fit the guys normally, it’s all kind of all over the place and i don’t really imagine them from specific eras (i have been more or less keeping Yoongi current throughout Collateral and using more recent descriptions and images every time, with the exception of some mood boards.) sometimes my mind goes to Weverse magazine shoots, especially 2020 and 2022.

2. i almost never plot things out when i start, which was the case for Boy Blue and Collateral lol. i did sort of plan the ending of Boy Blue by the time Yoongi was introduced but i was still playing around with various ideas. (glad you didn’t trust him tho bc i made him obsessive and weird like immediately and it felt like nobody really caught that??? there were hints of his involvement throughout, tho, because i always loosely wanted that to be a plot twist. In the basement, when Yoongi says, “This wasn’t supposed to happen” what he means is “This isn’t how we planned it.” and even in earlier chapters when they are first captured, his behavior is erratic because he is upset with Taehyung, especially for having a gun.)

i finally wrote an outline for how i wanted to end Boy Blue somewhere around chapter 40. i was like “ok, we need to end this fic, it’s been going on for a long time now.” i think around 42 is when i had the ending completely figured out. most of Boy Blue was the product of me just logging out of class and creating chaos.

Collateral got an outline in chapter 12, and boy howdy, has it changed a lot. i don’t think think i had the actual ending set in stone until chapter 15. i think that was the point when i decided that in order for this story to get the ending i wanted, i needed to plan a sequel, and i slid Balming Tiger into the story.

Once you over came your embarrassment, you made sure to watch beetlejuice put the sheets in the wash, and show him how to run the machine, and again with the dryer, as the dryer rumbled he chuckled "bet it would feel real good to sit on top if it huh babes?" Hed nudge you, you only have him an awkward smile.

You werent exactly mad at him, just a tad upset, it was a violation of your trust, though beetlejuice was practically on his hands and knees begging you to forgive him, saying your bed is the most comfortable place in the house ect, and how he'll make it up to you, anything you want, now he's stuck on chore duty.

But as you lay in bed that night, alone, beetlejuice took the couch as punishment, you couldnt help but think back to walking in on your friend, and seeing him in such a state, gagged, drooling, an absolute mess, and his package, you didnt expect beej to be so thick down there, you shiver at the thought, the idea of being stuffed by him made you legs weak, and seeing him finish? He was like a fucking firehose, you werent going to be sleep tonight with those thoughts bouncing around your skull.

I was wondering what Hikari's parents are like, since we don't know much about either of them. What I'm mainly interested in is what their personalities are like, and what are some of their notable traits. I'm asking since I want to do some more writing, but I'm also really curious about them.

formally introducing hikari's parents and a little more insight on why she's so well-known!

HISAKO KAMINO

Hisako is the illegitimate child of retired pro hero Amaterasu, and super villain Necromancer. Her family, especially her mother and herself, was under fire for the shocking scandal between hero and villain. Although her younger half-sister Hikari had no blood relation to the villain, she ended up going to UA to protect their mother and Hisako. She met Hiroyuki through Hikari's internship, where they eventually fell in love. Because of her hardy and confident nature, Hisako often taunted and challenged those who wanted to try hurting her family, unafraid of death. She was involved in a bigger incident because of her blood relations, unfortunately getting others involved and others killed. The scandals surrounding their family have toned down in the recent years, especially after both Hikari and Hiroyuki aided in arresting Necromancer.

QUIRK: RESPAWN

Hisako’s quirk allows her to come back from the dead, waking up from the place she last died without any injuries or complications. She inherited one drawback from her father, though. The more often she respawns, the more her body will rot away. Because of several incidents in the past, her left arm and lefthand torso have been reduced to a skeleton’s. Doctors say that she isn’t immortal, and that she’ll just die a normal death at old age.

HIROYUKI KAMINO

Hiroyuki was born in Cairo to an Egyptian mother and a Japanese father, and they were immediately blessed upon his birth. Born with a quirk that framed him with the spitting image of the ancient sun god Ra, it was not hard for him to gain power and popularity with dreams to be Egypt’s number one hero. Both parents realized being in favor of the people might blind him, so they brought him to UA as a transfer student to humble him. This toned him down, but it didn’t change his boldness and self-assurance after graduating from Japan’s top hero school. He continued his dream and eventually became the rising hero ablaze, Ra. Years later, he took an intern from UA named Hikari and was infatuated by her older sister, Hisako. While courting her, he had to face her demons alongside their family and swore to help them regain their honor. Getting involved earned him a spot in the scandal, but he and his intern were able to capture Necromancer in exchange for losing his upper beak.

QUIRK: SUNFLAME

Hiroyuki’s quirk is manifested through the orbs of fire he can create, resembling a small sun with rays. Unlike fire, which is a type of hot gas, his suns are made up of a blazing combination of gases in the form of plasma. The plasma is a state of matter similar to gas, but with most of the particles ionized, and he can make these suns as small as a pinball or as big as a person. He’s only ever made one as big as a building once, but it takes a huge toll on him. Because of his quirk, he also has a complete and total resistance to fire and heat.

hisako is very VERY strong personality-wise

she's very confident in herself to the point that she challenges people who are stronger than her or better than her

very cocky when it comes to those things, and is barely affected by anything bad against her 0% damage, she's used to it

would probably give the BEST GODDAMN PEP TALK TO ANYONE WHO IS A VICTIM OF BULLYING (watch the victim sock their bully in the face the next day after talking to her)

was the one who protected hikari the most, not wanting her to go through what she did

extremely honest and has unwavering optimism to the point that it's a bit scary how easily she can brush anything off

hiroyuki is also confident in himself and his abilities, but he's a much more toned down version of his vain self as a teenager

no one can stop him if he wants to do something or get something! he pursued hisako even if she kept ignoring him at first

definitely the one who spoiled hikari the most as a child, especially since he came from an upper class upbringing

total dad who thinks hes super cool no matter what he does, likes looking cool and hip while his wife looks formal

both of them still act like they're still high schoolers dating so its a bit embarrassing to watch them flirt

"you had a crush on me..? thats embarrassing...." "I know, im so embarrassed I think of kissing you everyday...." [literally married]

I would say theyre girlboss and malewife personality-wise, but hisako is actually a housewife and hiroyuki does the hero work

if you didnt know who they were (esp hiroyuki being a hero) one could easily assume hisako was the breadwinner

hiroyuki doesnt mind! he's absolutely in love with his wife and he loves having her in the spotlight and bringing his wife to formal events to absolutely wow everyone with how charismatic she is

hisako on the other hand was never the type to want any protection, so at first she always rejected hiroyuki's pursuits but eventually her husband is the only person she lets her guard down with

Clones did get to see colors. Not really, anyway, just the muted, modulated ones their buckets provided - not the ones that brought grown men to their knees.

The ones that made elation run through a person's veins and completion paint the world in light.

The soulmate colors.

Clones didnt get to see them, because clones weren't supposed have soulmates. Why would they? Their very existence was specifically curated not to encourage them to find themselves, not to go on adventures, or develop dreams, and certainly not to fall in love.

Still, when he stood at the corner of the mess hall, and watched his brothers quarrel and laugh, with their uncontrollable hair and skin spattered with scars, Rex wondered.

Because the more time he spent, the more he saw new painted patterns and heard annoying inside jokes, the more he thought somewhere in all those calculations, they got it wrong. They were individuals, they went on adventures, and had different dreams.

So, like scuffs collecting on shiny plastoid armor, a new determination scratched a mark somewhere deep inside him. If his brothers could be and do all that they already had? Love, even, was not quite so unrealistic.

He didnt talk about colors much - none of them did, and he of all people rarely had the time. But he thought about them more than he should, ached for them during quiet nights alone in his bunk.

The feeling was frusterating, something unreasonable to share, impossible to explain, so as time flew on, he learned to bury it. It felt like a lifetime ago when he learned to guard his mind and control his thoughts around his jedi generals. Still, there was a time when he - his friend and jedi - had been distracted, gazing into his certain someone's eyes, that Rex had watched. And just for a moment, his mind had slipped.

Another scratch in his chest, wanting - wanting - what? Just someone to look at, to really see, and... someone who would see him, too. That's all he wanted. It was a selfish thought, hot and fierce, seering his careful facade, branding another scuff before he could shake it away.

When he first saw you, even through his aging helmet, you were the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.

You were walking, talking to someone, not relevant to his mission, but important and he wanted to walk after you, to be the one you were talking to, but... then you were gone.

Someone else asked who you were and he felt suddenly possessive, a strange feeling immediately followed by confusion. It was an illogical response, by all accounts, you had never even met before.

And then someone else answered - a trusted friend of Senator Amidala's, and he felt relief, that he hadn't been forced to choose looking foolish by asking or the much worse option: not knowing.

And it was another illogical response.

Weeks went by, stealing glimpses of you floating through the hall, and pondering his responses in his meager free time. Was there a reason he wanted to smooth the line between your brows? Or have his arm be the one you tucked your hands into as you climbed the stairs in your heavy robes?

There shouldnt have been. But when you appeared in front of him, your lovely eyes wide and thoughtful, here shouldnt have been a reason his brain short circuited, either. But it did - images of you appeared before him: you kissing his cheek lashes fluttering as you made him promise to stay alive, your head against his chest plate as your breaths thickened with peace and his own were full of pride. You, gasping his name as your hands grasped desperately against his skin, holding onto him as he took you for his and his alone.

Rex had never been quite so dysfunctional in his entire life. But before he could collect himself, you ducked your head and ran.

There were conversations Rex had never indulged before, at the bar, or between his brothers whenever they had a moment. Conversations about love and colors and... soulmates. And it had seemed selfish to listen, selfish to participate, like it would only add to his ache, and steal from his duty. Until you.

Each time he turned to see you watching him, before your eyes would widen guiltily and you'd turn your head in embarrassment, his resolve slipped away. He was already indulging, by stealing his own glances at you, and through the intentness at which he listened beyond your educated opinions for your laugh.

And when you tripped, walking quickly through a corridor opposite of him, and grabbed his arm, holding him like he could keep you steady, it snapped.

Then those conversations became like water - they were everywhere and he craved them like he needed it to survive.

"What, really?" As always, he tried to seem only politely interested.

"Honest, we only talk for a bit -"

"And admittedly he'd been drinking, but -"

"Yeah, they seemed in love. Way more than just fucking, he was acting stupid and happy."

"It was nice, you know? A vod looking like a normal dude -"

"- kept kissing and -"

" - talking about colors - "

Rex nodded and slipped away.

After long missions, his muscles would ache with scrapes and bruises, but he always told the shinies it prepared himself for the next one. He was done collecting aches - he wanted it. Soulmates or not, he wanted you.

The opportunity came sooner than expected, in long moments after a meeting had dissolved sooner than expected.

The two of you were left alone looking over a projection, and the convenience spurred his bravery.

"You do well, with all those idiots." Brave, certainly, but smooth? Not as much. You looked surprised and pleased at his praise, and pride shot through him.

"Thank you, I..." You glanced at him, and he watched your eyes trace over his marks, along the lines of his armor and then into his visor. Hands fiddling with a little dark grey pendant around your neck, you seemed like you were building courage.

"I'm sorry I've been avoiding you."

His head tilted. You had been avoiding... him? Him, specifically? Maybe Rex shouldve felt upset, but the definitive proof that you knew who he was, lit his whole body on fire.

"Why have you been avoiding me?"

"You're so admirable! And capable and," you turned away, shoulders raising a bit as you confessed - "and there's something about you that's just..."

He'd never wanted someone to finish a sentence more. It seemed impossible how much he ached for you, how right you seemed for him, how it seemed like maybe you agreed, but he had defied a world of impossibilities.

"I didnt want to seem too eager," your voice was but a whisper. Hope fueled his heat, filling his armor until it felt too much to bear.

Pulling off his helmet, Rex reached for you, saying, "You couldn't -" before his words cut off.

You looking him face to face and his whole world changed in a single moment.

"- Mesh'la."

The pendant was... a color that matched the way rain felt, and the paint on his armour, brighter than he'd thought. You were his.

And you were wearing it, looking like a dream, staring at him like you'd never seen a man like him before. And... you hadnt.

As he grabbed your hands, and your fingers fit inbetween his own, Rex knew you hadn't. Because he as in color, and he was yours.

Okay my thoughts on The Batman. This isn't like a review or anything just the ramblings in my brain while I watched the movie.

1. Selina Kyle chews too much bubblegum

2. I like The Riddler a lot more before he got caught. He was still fine but they perhaps tried a little too hard to make him unhinged. But I liked the ominous air he gave the movie. The real villains for me were the mob bosses and corrupt city officials. The drama of them was the highlight.

3. There were two moments of acting really stuck out for me for Robert Pattinson's Batman. The first was after he punches Commissioner Gordon and gets to the roof of the precinct. He runs up on the edge of the roof and he stops suddenly and gasps. It's weird to be so thrown off by a superhero character reacting to almost falling off a building as scary, but I think most cool mysterious type supes are usually portrayed as above that kind of stuff. I would image the scene would go with Batman getting to the roof and immediately jumping off and activating his sugar glider suit thing. But they show him hesitating instead and having to think about what he does. Hes not some prescient godlike character that's always 10 steps ahead of everyone everytime he is on camera. The next one is when they find Annikas body in the car. He looks genuinely shocked and horrified. Again, this seems like a normal response but it's not what I expect from a superhero movie. If I was trying to guess the reaction based on the script I would've said he would see the body, close his eyes and bow his head. A cool measured response that still shows sympathy. But he does something different! It just stood out to me.

4. I like the amount of Commissioner Gordon that we got. I like Jeffrey Wright a lot as an actor and I liked his interactions with Batman.

5. I'm sure like a lot of people, I liked the detective angle of the movie. It feels like a real breath of fresh air from other Batman movies despite him being billed as the worlds greatest detective, the movies havnt given us too much of that yet. The gothic architecture was beautiful. The film noirs beats were great, especially the "he's my father" reveal. And I liked the sound design as well.

6. Penguin car chase. Loved. Also the makeup they did for the penguin was amazing. Do I think they could've just cast someone that looks like The Penguin? Absolutely. But regardless, I'm always excited to see good practical effects makeup. It moved so well with his face. Ve Neill would be proud (if she didnt have a hand in it, idrk)

7. I think the Joker tease was a little unnecessary, but I may just be tired of movies so blatantly setting up for sequels.

8. I liked the progression of Batman going from someone who hurts bad people, to someone who helps people. That's the batman I love and it's good to see him helping out in such mundane ways at the end.

9. I liked that they allowed the melodrama to just be. Is the "I am the shadows" line a little corny? Sure. But they dont apologize for it, or try to meta humor their way into making a joke of it. This movie is earnest and sincere in the ways I wish other blockbuster superhero flicks were. This didnt feel like it belonged to the DCU. Maybe in the same universe as Joaquin Phoenix's Joker, but it doesnt have to be. And I like that. I dont think that DC should focus on having a U. I think Marvel has already cornered that market and in doing so has made all of their movies so tonally similar that they run together and have little distinguishable about them. DC could be different. Tell standalone stories in tones and genres that highlight the character or story they're telling. Detective Batman movies, keep the funny Suicide Squad, a Booster Gold character piece, a horror/thriller movie with The Question. Just my opinion DC.

10. And finally, this one is short but I liked that the city of Gotham felt like it's own character in the movie. I think that's a big reason why I felt like this movie could tie into The Joker movie if it wanted too because the Gothams they portray feel like the same place to me, just years apart of course. Gotham in the Christopher Nolan movies might as well have been New York, but this was Gotham for sure.
