“Finally manage to bag someone, Nagi? ‘Bout time, I was starting to think you were going to be lonely forever.” The white-haired striker doesn’t even flinch when his best friend’s hand comes down as a harsh, congratulatory slap to his back, a little too focused on the picture—the first picture that wasn’t a screenshot or a meme, really—that you sent him. He only offers a half-hearted hum in response.

Genuine question, how did you figure out or realize the whole being butch thing? What does being butch mean to you?

idk if it was like… figure out? more so just putting a name to something i’ve always felt or known about myself. i came out as a lesbian, then i came out as nb, then i was like well i want gender affirming care so that must mean i am Trans™️, & it’s like… none of those words or kind of… vibes (lol sorry) quite fit? i don’t feel like a cis lesbian, & i actually kind of despise non-binary as a concept (don’t send asks abt this i won’t answer them lol, do ur own thing if u love it that’s cool); i think for me personally Transness is a little too serious & intense & limiting to how i feel. & im a white afab person in a smaller body, & honestly…….. we are often the wooooorst demographic of trans ppl lmao so i just didn’t even rly like some spaces i was in. i got the most important gender affirming care i wanted, i moved & i got married, i got to work remotely etc

& so just sitting with all of that it was like. ok well a lot of neoliberal queer spaces piss me the fuck off; i’m not cis, but i’m not TRANS in the way a lot of ppl (very validly) feel; i do Not like nb. i’d read stone butch blues before, i have a degree in critical theory where i worked a loooot w queer theory, obviously i’ve written abt queerness for ages lol. so then i was just like ah. butch. dyke. YAH! sweet. 100/10 feels amazing i love it

& i think for me i love those words most bc they’re rooted in really radical belief that i have. they carry an ethic with them that, at its best & most intersectional ofc, i want to act on, all the time. i want to show up for people & be protective & tough & strong but i also so deeply want to be nurturing & nourishing. i want to allow myself to be nourished & cared for. i think it feels rly wonderful to have a word for transgressive gender that sums it all up bc people lived it before me. they made that very specific & particular space to experience femininity in a way that doesn’t feel like a noose.

i think also butchness is so expansive! something that never sat right w me abt the way we talk abt transness in the west is that i don’t think there are ‘pre’ & ‘post’ transition selves. like… i’ve never been Not Me? like i came out of the womb a dyke. all i did my entire childhood is run around in the mountains, catalogue leaves, play w my dog, read nancy drew, & avidly watch + play any women’s soccer i could. i loved to fish & mountain bike, i grew up in the desert so gardening to me was a miracle. i never cared abt gender at all beyond like ‘well i guess i’m a girl & the women i admire just won a world cup, they’re badass’ & that was it. i liked boys clothes bc they were practical & felt better, but i just. didn’t think about it. ppl called me a tomboy which was fine, i liked scout in to kill a mockingbird so whatever. but i never felt “non-binary” & i certainly never felt like a boy.

& i am… still just like that lmao. i hated my boobs, point blank day 1 lol, but that doesn’t have to mean i’m trans, or that i’ve somehow changed in a way that requires separation from who i’ve been my whole life. i HATE the language of ‘dead/lived’ name; i hate the weird expectation that u should allow the state to have all of ur gender stuff on record (no fucking thank you, y’all can keep my legal name & i will be flying under the radar lol). so i think western transness rly just. irritates me. doesn’t fit. hasn’t ever fit.

so butchness is like. i am 8 year old jude, i’m just older now. if this makes sense ur butch lmao but. it’s this rly free space to play w masculinity in a way that doesn’t necessitate western transness, & also doesn’t necessitate a separation from maternalism, which i fundamentally believe in. i don’t even rly think of my own care as “gender affirming” & more just like… essence affirming. i didn’t want top surgery so my body could be read as male; i wanted it so i could look like me. i want my clothes to feel & fit in a Very particular way bc that’s how i like them. it’s abt practicality, efficiency, comfort.

& lastly to me butchness has a remarkable space for tenderness that masculinity on its own just cannot hold. like. it’s abt being protective & strong, sure, but it’s in service of others. always always always. so sometimes that looks like communicating calmly, sometimes that looks like infinite small acts of service for ur friends or ur partner. when i think of settling into myself it’s more about returning to who i knew i was when i was a kid, when i was the only person my dog liked & how it felt to sit on the swings when the sun was setting after the monsoon; it’s allowing myself to love like that — caring, & quiet, & full.

ultimately to me butchness is about devotion, more than anything in the world. devoted to safety, devoted to community. no one is devoted the way dykes are bc it’s how we survive. it’s how we have always survived — the steadfastness, the faith, the joy, even thru suffering, to not be boxed in. to help each other. to be funny & kind & thoughtful & not reject the absolute best parts of womanhood for the sake of a western box. to demand care. it’s so beautiful. devotion.

hii it’s ‘🪦’ anon. i wanted to come back for a quick second and share some stuff. recently, i’ve manifested so much stuff since i first sent an ask and even before that with only being in this year for two months.

month of janurary in order:

- my parents divorce being over after years (everything working out how we planned). this was also the reason i had got into LOA all those years ago, so i did cry for like a day straight, it was really my wakeup call.

- 2 week vacation to my favorite tropical area for the month of feburary (i just got back from traveling and i enjoyed myself sm)

- i tapped into the void state about two times that month as well. i affirmed for always being aware of when i’m in it.

- a healthier relationship with my family. the past few years i did struggle with feeling close with them but we’ve grown so much in a short amount of time now.

- 300 dollars worth of clothes + a skims dress (the package was gonna be way more and i had already spent a lot of money for the vacation in advance)

- three new pairs of desired shoes

- this was random but, my mom always gives me money monthly to spend freely or to save but i had already gotten that months worth. so i was like my mom is gonna give me more money, not even 30 minutes later she’s asking how much i wanted?? 😭😭

month of feburary in order:

- over the years my family has definitely gotten more lenient especially since i’m damn near grown LMAO but it feels nice to do stuff without feeling like there’s going to be consequences, so i manifested for my family to be more lenient with my desired things.

- to get rid of my cold/flu a few days before vacation. i had gotten “sick” (like a common cough and runny nose) from a family member. i haven’t been sick in years so i was genuinely pissed about it. i affirmed one night when i was sleepy to wakeup without the sickness, and when i woke-up it was gone.

- my sister got paid earlier than she expected. and the amount was a few more thousands than she normally would get. it was funny when she came to tell me because she always has to make a joke out of everything. 😭

- my mothers approval for more piercings and maybe even a tattoo? (probably not, i’d def pussy out LMDAOO)

- so this was the biggest one besides the divorce but we got offers for two homes. the same homes that we looked at years ago and it honestly freaked me out. i genuinely did want to move again so i could be closer to my friends house to hangout more (we both met through LOA about three years ago and just so happened to live almost an hour away). i glanced at both house listings online after talking to her and i believed that i was gonna move. NEXT DAY, MY MOM AND SISTER GOT TWO CALLS BACK TO BACK. so now we’re moving into both homes because of something that happened 😭 it’s not bad but it was funny. i’ll be there in less than a week so i’m excited!

- another thing that happened was earlier this month. i tapped into the void for fun through this guided hypnosis video post made by gorgeouslypink and i was curious. i didn’t have any intent on manifesting anything there nor did i actually think i was gonna go through with it. i laid down right after and i tapped into it immediately while following the last speaking. personally, i don’t feel the need for the void because at the end of the day, ts is a deep meditative state inside of me. manifesting in the void is instant, and so is manifesting any other way. i also texted my friend right before and after. she thought i was gonna do it another day by u disappeared for like an hour or two and she was shocked. i was gonna send proof of everything but idk how to do this shit through anon but changing the font tbh this is sad.

all of the stuff that i mentioned within these two past months were all manifested without using the void. i hope that this can bring more positivity and enthusiasm for a lot of people who’ll see this post. ofc you can use the void but realize your power, it all starts with you and ends with you. don’t forget that you promised yourself these things so give them to yourself. sending love 💓 i’ll check back in monthly probably bc this is fun sharing my experiences and using the pink font color 💟 see you next time!

I've heard of ppl complaining about ur writing speed and posting schedule but it's honestly ridiculous. like you actually write insanely fast. it is incredible that you have managed to write over 150,000 words (in very high quality writing might I add 🫶) in like 10 months !!

thank u lol honestly i feel like i’ve had relatively little bs 2 deal w compared 2 the flack i’ve seen some other fic writers get etc but i have def like. had conversations w some other fic writers abt how strange it feels 2 get people immediately commenting on chs like “when will the next ch be out?” or sending messages etc asking abt posting schedules…idk i have conflicted feelings bc on the one hand im like well maybe i just did this 2 myself by having unusually fast & consistent posting schedules at various points w past fics but on the other hand i do try 2 make it v clear when like. my posting is gonna slow down…& also i v much do not think it should be considered standard 4 people 2 be updating wips weekly or monthly etc like when i was writing a fic 4 a different fandom before i joined this one i took like a four month break in the middle of posting w no warning & no one complained abt it lol.

& it’s also like. i do understand that none of those comments/messages etc r ill intended & usually people will tack on a little ‘no pressure!’ but unfortunately i am going 2 pressure myself regardless…which i have had 2 actively work on bc i was like. i cannot keep stressing myself out over arbitrary deadlines i set for something that’s supposed 2 be a hobby!! so i might just be extra sensitive abt it now & if one of those messages catches me on a day where im stressed abt other stuff etc (frequent occurrence recently lol) then like. no matter how nicely it’s phrased it still doesn’t feel nice. & i understand wanting 2 know but i also don’t think u should read a wip unless ur actually prepared 2 a) deal w the story however it goes [separate complaint that i’ve been discussing w my fic writing friends lmao] and b) wait however long it takes 4 chs w no expectations abt regularly-scheduled posting. so!

anyway not sure 2 what extent this is like a new phenomenon or expectations have actually changed…one friend who’s been like. writing fic way longer than i have told me they do feel like there’s been a sort of shift across various fandoms w this new expectation that fic writers r posting regularly quickly & consistently. like maybe bc fic has become more ‘mainstream’ etc there are an influx of people who r bringing in new standards that sort of echo what they’d expect 4 other forms of media but like. when u take a step back & think abt it it’s a little wild 2 want or expect some random guy 2 be providing u w weekly entertainment for free…have seen a few people being like “ugh we need a new big wip that everyone’s reading & talking abt” & im like. oh so u want someone 2 kill themself lmao like everyone i know who’s had their fic treated like the fandom’s ~tv show~ that they tune in for every week has had a horrible horrible time lol

was NOT expecting a sequel (or I guess a prequel?? Haha) to no matter what I do. I also was literally logging in to tumblr to reread it because I needed a Soobin fic for my Soobin feels and I couldnt find any good ones in the tags. But I saw this! And I read it all last night which I kinda regret because I felt bad after like I always do when reading angst LOL BUT IN A GOOD WAY!!!!! Your writing is so immaculate it had me feeling a type of way……. The love triangle, the fights, the drama, I loved it all. I felt sick when y/n felt sick, and I felt mad when y/n felt mad….. I’ve said this before lol but ur writing is very much like a published novel, it’s SO GOOD. I’m like tired rambling rn but I just had to tell u before I forgot to send an ask. The character dynamics were great, the jealousy between tae and Beomgyu over y/n, and the guilt y/n feels at the end for liking both gyu and tae, and then beomgyus whole personal story with adhd and his dad, you gave them so much depth!!!! I love it!!!! Also that tease at the end of the next part with tae and his baby mama SUCH GOOD WRITING SKILLS I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!! Anyways I am excitedly anticipating the next part 🥰🥰 no longer in my Soobin feels bc of this LOL now I just want Beomgyu to be happy (and yn too). Actually one more thing before I end this off LOL but in nmwid I kinda didn’t like yns character (though I did sympathize with her for her past), but this backstory really made me actually feel for her. She just wants to be happy with taehyun (and gyu lol) and she is trying to change her life for the better. Despite their relationship break, I am glad she did get her happy (somewhat) ending with Soobin in the future. I’ll be rereading nmwid with a different perspective now! Haha

By all means, Vernon adding love songs onto your playlist shouldn’t have been as out of nowhere as it had been. But you knew Vernon, and you knew he didn’t just make a playlist for anyone (an admission he made to you when he asked about where his other friends’ playlists were), so you knew something had to be up.

The whole reason he had made you a playlist was because that was essentially the reason the two of you met: he’d been eyeing the record you were looking at and decided to pipe up when you started deciding between it and another one. He’d very politely asked if he could give you his opinion after watching you stand there for almost five minutes, gave you the lowdown on the two albums, and the two of you seemed to click when you realized how much you both loved music. It started with you two trading numbers so you could send song recs to each other whenever you felt like it. He’d send you a Spotify link sometimes to a song, following it up with a “thoughts?” which you typically threw a paragraph back at him. When you did the same, he’d either send you a thumbs up or a thumbs down emoji. The first time you’d been a little off put, worried that maybe your taste didn’t actually match up with his as much as you thought it would.

Then he called you an hour later with a “sorry, I had to relisten to it like ten more times,” before talking to you for almost half an hour about things you hadn’t even noticed when you listened. That became your thing: you’d send each other song recommendations, and typically talk them over later on either over the phone or in person. You liked the way his eyes lit up when he was really invested in a track. Even if he wasn’t a fan, he always found something cool to focus on.

That was how you found out he was working on his own music. You had asked him to listen, and he had just grown flustered and shook his head saying that he wasn’t sure yet. He hadn’t finished anything yet. So you accepted that and let it slide. He’d show you when he was good and ready, and if he never showed you, that was fine, too.

You didn’t expect, however, for him to send you a cover he did with a few of his friends. They were all talented in their own right, but you felt the heat rush to your face as you realized how in his element he is when he was rapping. You’d heard him sing a few times--usually just when it was the two of you, sitting in either your apartment or his, talking over music because he’d be talking and then he’d try to point out a lyric and he’d sing it softly just so you knew exactly what he meant by what he was talking about.

Frankly? You were a little whipped.

It was somewhere around there that he made you the playlist, saying he’d stop clogging up your texts with song links and that he’d just let you know when he added a few songs. You marveled a little at the idea and sought out to do the same, simply naming the playlist after him like he had done for you. Sometimes it was music he thought you’d like, sometimes it was songs that he said reminded him of you (a fact that made your heart swell), other times it was literal meme shit that he threw on there to tease you. It was sweet, honestly.

Then you got hit with the link to something he was working on, and you immediately spent the next hour on call with him hyping him up. You could hear how flustered he was from his voice alone, and you’d honestly kill to see his cute face then. You tried to bribe Seungkwan for any pictures he might have taken without Vernon knowing, but he didn’t budge... even with your bribe of money, treats, iced Americanos because you KNEW he liked them, SEUNGKWAN. You’d have to tell Vernon sometime that his best friend really was solid. Yours would probably sell you out for a single corn chip.

It was after that that the love songs started popping up. He vaguely mentioned adding some new stuff to your playlist, you asked if you could call later on, and it was set up.

“So,” you dragged out the word, “heeey, buddy... Did you mean to add a bunch of love songs in there?”

Something got knocked over on his end. A cup, based on the quick, “ah, shit, no, fuck--”  you heard afterward, followed by a profuse apology to you since he needed to grab paper towels. When he came back, you restated your question, and he cleared his throat. “You don’t appreciate a good love song?”

(Truthfully, he’d bought himself some time with that accidental spill and proceeded to fight himself mentally because he’d made a second, private playlist for you.)

“I mean, yeah,” you said. “Do you put love songs on all your friends’ playlists...?”

“No!” He paused, “I mean... You know I don’t make specific playlists for them. You’re special like that.”

“Oh.” You felt the heat rising to your face. “So...”

“So?”

“Are you saying... that you like me?”

He said nothing at first. Then you heard it, his voice quiet as he admitted a small “Maybe.” Then another pause, “I mean, I just thought you’d like the songs. If you don’t like them, I can take them off--”

“No, leave them,” you smiled. “We can talk about them when you come over next.”

“And if that’s tonight...?”

You hummed, glancing over at your planner. You had an essay due on Sunday, but you could put it off. “Then I guess I’ll see you tonight.”

You could hear his soft chuckle. “It’s a date.”

after a tough day of contributing absolutely nothing to the greater good of society, jay decides to do what men like him choose to do to relieve stress: by playing a high-stress game.

what he wasn't expecting, though, was to get a snarky partner who would actually reciprocate his angry chats (as a result of his bad temper) and shit-talk him back. like what they're doing right now.

jay was pissed. there's no way he's losing this duo match. it's down to three teams and he can't risk losing more points for his rank when he's so close to reaching crown four, so he breathes in and out, trying his utmost best not to let the arrogant demeanor of his partner get on all of his nerves. notursniper heals him and fends off two players while he heals, leaving just one more team. 

you got this. you got this. jay internally chants before a barrage of shots echo from his phone's speaker. he's too busy to look for the enemy to notice his partner's been knocked down. the motherfucker's proning. the circle's getting smaller and jay's getting anxious over the constant request for healing when all of a sudden:

"what?" his own intrusive thoughts snaps him back to the real world, to see that she actually removed him as an in-game friend. what the fuck? in a span of panic, he tried to add them again. 

a few days pass by but alas, no response from her. jay does not know why he's itching to check on his phone every now and then. heeseung and sunghoon don't even want to question why he's been staring at phone with his brows furrowed for hours now.

it's only because they're a good player and they can help me rank up. that's it. 

soon enough, jay's routine has become waking up, going to school, and checking if user notursniper has accepted his request at every waking second of the day. the same goes for the following morning when jay anxiously opens the game again and finds one new message from a friend.

It’s really fascinating how you chose chifuyu as the one having a moral dilemma in dealing with restraining his feelings for the reader. Well imo, it’s very genius of you to have chifuyu portray the role seeing how his canon character in tr has a kinda similar drive to save the ppl he cherishes just the way takemichi does to everyone + he’s got that “good boy” kinda vibe (even though he’s a delinquent) like those really cute coffee/flower/petshop owners who’s all smiles once you enter their store (and you’ll later on know that they’re actually not who you think they are)???

Going back to the story, did chifuyu, in his time leap to “save” reader, instantly kidnap reader and explained his agenda to baji and kazutora, or was it a long process of gaining reader’s trust while the other two oblivious of chifuyu’s newfound ability, and their yandere tendencies towards reader just slowly manifesting the more they got to know them?

Lmao I made that post and then two hours later I was like… wait, did that come across too mean?? I was only joking 😭😭😭 shdhdjdkdllflf but yes, thank you for both asks my love!

The thing I love about Chifuyu is when you put him against characters like Baji and Tora, Mikey even, he comes across as a much milder option – the voice of reason, the friend you turn to. But there’s that scene where he talks about stripping people naked and beating the hell out of them because they were disrespecting Baji and like… that boy has issues <33

And that’s sort of reflected in the fic, I think? At first he paints himself as more of an enabler than anything else, letting horrible things happen to you because that’s what Baji and Tora want/need, and then it slowly comes out that he’s just as fucked up as they are, and wants you equally as bad.

As for what happens when he jumps back, Chifuyu’s terrified of losing her, so while he sets up on his little stalking mission, he also sets about making sure they have somewhere safe and comfortable to keep her, and figuring out how he’s going to take her and when. There’s no slow easing her into this, there’s really not much point.

That’s for the reader’s side of things. With kazutora and baji, it’s more… he doesn’t just come out and announce it, but he also doesn’t make much of an effort to conceal what he’s doing from them. It’s a waiting game – how long will it take before they notice he’s acting weird, and follow him one night to her place? How long before morbid curiosity wins out? By the time he’s ready to bring you home, they’re more than happy to help :))

Besides, he has the benefit of hindsight on his hands. He knows they’re gonna love her, and they won’t lift a finger to stop him from keeping her locked away and safe.

c-sections in history are always so visceral i love them 🫶 alyssa velaryon murdered by rogar i LOVED that i loved adapting that to viserys/aemma. childbirth is such a violent act in westeros it really comes across as gendered domestic violence at times, the way it is simply expected for women to destroy their bodies/die in the process of producing an heir for their husband who doesnt daf about them beyond their ability to do this, and then the dismissiveness that men will consider this with. like how tywin is so uncaring about how he has set this up for cersei's life. and c-section is such a fun horror when u dont have epidurals lol so i jst HAD to do c-section<3 plus i didnt want to think about the mpreg reproductive system lol

there's a certain horror too with how close births are in westeros. it's mostly a plot thing but having children every year without modern medicine is so evil... jae/viserra/daenys are all born within a five-year timeline starting from when vis is 15(sorry baby<3) years 44, 47, and 48. i think maegor did try to have more after that but a combo of fate/destiny/dragon has three heads/destroying vis' body it ended after that and maeg was like well if one dies there's two more. plus i think while he would value a son>daughter for Society reasons he respects viserra more than jae cos power>social norms. so he's ultimately fine with the three heirs he has, though he def enjoys tormenting vis with the thought of having to go through another birth ^_^ also i figure after the double whammy 2 daughters in 2 years rhaena is like Put your dick away or i chop it off.

and yee vis picks the names mostly<3 i think he doesnt ask maegor for ANYTHING cos no doubt maegor will use it to fuck with him but when he has a son he's like please please please can i name him after jaehaerys. plus it'll be comnfusing if there's two viseryses. i think maegor would want to name his son aegon as a power play (after his father + to spit on aegon the uncrowned's grave) but he's like damn u actually asked something of me instead of pissing yourself and crying, Ight fine but the next one has to be named after visenya. which makes viserys go a little crazy cos if there's one thing he knows the gods will love its a maegor kid named VISENYA. they compromise on viserra (aww<3 normal marriage!). then its daughter #2 and maegor's like yeah idgaf anymore. if it was a boy he'd name it aegon but its a stupid girl so he's like god idk name is aegelle for all i care. so vis picks daenys after the dreamer.

oo and whenever vis snaps and gets pissy about maegor treating him like horseshit maegor is like well i let you name the kids didnt i. arent you grateful for that lmao i let you name my HEIR. i give you everything... and vis is like sigh might kill myself about this. and it's all part of maegor's grand Make Viserys Insane plan that he's not even doing consciously he just thinks its funny that viserys cries for months after giving birth to jaehaerys cos lol YOU chose to name him after your dead brother! i said aegon YOU chose jae!

canon maegor was really focused on having an heir cos it was like the one masculine ideal he couldnt achieve but i feel like once he's had the kid he doesn't care about them beyond that. his parenting strategy is that kids should just be swole from birth and if they arent that's their problem its not his job to raise them. as The Mother it is viserys' job to raise the kids into mini maegors/visenyas and if the kids dont turn out that way it is viserys' fault.

oh my god i fucking LOVE tick tick boom. like. i waited for months for it to come out and watched it w my family the day it came out and they all watched me ugly cry the whole time. it was such a moment in time. honestly i was so nervous i wouldn’t like it bc of how much i adore rent but lin manuel miranda was the only person id trust to do jonathan larson’s story justice and BOY did he exceed expectations. if we’re talking musical biopics, god i LOVED rocketman and bohemian rhapsody when they came out. that was such a good year for movies.

i also adore when harry met sally. god i just. romcoms. yknow?? strangely though despite my film buff status i didn’t watch it until like a year ago, it had been on my list for ages and def did not disappoint. i love the classic romcoms too, pretty woman, notting hill, love actually (did i mention the holiday in my original post?? pls tell me i did i could write essays abt that movie) like i shit you not i have a full spotify playlist with movie scores and i constantly say im like miles (jack black’s character) from the holiday bc he’s a composer and score buff (im only the latter lmao but still)

i’ve been wanting to watch babylon for the LONGEST time now you e def given me an excuse to get around to it!! and my friend has told me about bones and all saying it’s incredible (she and i have like this cannibalism inside joke it’s hard to explain without sounding weird lmaoo) and it’s also on the list!! and the before trilogy sounds right up my alley and i’m v curious to check out sanctuary also!!

i’m trying to think of other movies to suggest hmmm it depends on your tastes like my top five are def inspiring/heart wrenching but also comfort romance/ romcoms but i love all diff types of movies. like space movies as a category, the martian and interstellar as my top two for example. (also basically anything w jessica chastain in it i will watch bc im in love w her) and okay i also love the classics like the truman show, dead poets society, also horror movies too like the original scream is def my favorite horror film bc its hilarious, and i also (not in a toxic film bro way) rlly do like tarantino. like. inglorious basterds my beloved and also reservoir dogs, so good.
