Fanart

A lot of people my age and a bit older were drawn into art through anime. We really were. It was cool and fun and simple to draw, and we would mostly draw the characters we liked, drawing our first fanarts in fifth or sixth grade, maybe earlier.

A lot of people drift from fanart, or just art in general because no one pays it much attention. That’s not why I’ve drifted.

I’ve drifted because of how fucking politicized everything has become. My first exposure to this was with the Undertale fandom because I dared to say I thought a main character had a biological sex. Because I dared to speak my mind and have an opinion on a character. Some of my followers may have seen that and may remember it. (Funny enough, I got attacked by someone I felt a great amount of pity for until they showed their true colors by getting pissed at me for talking about biological sex.)

Steven Universe, Undertale, Homestuck, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Dragon Age... All things I enjoy/ enjoyed at one point but no longer do entirely because I’m ashamed to associate with their fandoms. Homestuck was the only fandom I can think of that was politicized but no one save a few popular artists got attacked.

A good portion of my followers followed me for art, and I apologize to them for my blog now being a political/shitpost/Dragon Age blog. But I can’t draw anything and post it anymore. I do still draw, but I rarely post anything because I don’t want a hoard of identity politic feminist chuckle fucks descending on me and screaming about how I need to die because my art isn’t what they like. 

And now, Dream Daddy has been ruined for me before I’ve even played it because of political fuck heads claiming an artist (who didn’t do anything wrong and is a lovely person) is transphobic, racist, and fatphobic for drawing some genderbends of the Dads. I wanted to draw Damien, but now I doubt I ever will.
