AO3 is down and so is my Wi-Fi so I’m writing Nimona headcanons to cope
When Nimona is in a bad mood she usually wants attention and affection so she’ll shift into her cat form and sit on Bal and Ambrosius
She knows they would never move her even when she’s in her human form but she feels like being a cat is just a bonus
The first time she sat on Ambrosius' shoulders when she was in a bad mood he cried for like three hours
When Bal has a bad day he goes nonverbal and collapses on the nearest comfy area
He doesn’t care if it’s his bed the couch or a pillow on the floor he’s laying their face first and not moving until he feels better
It’s not uncommon for him to come home and just plop down on the couch even when Nimona and Ambrosius are sitting there
And they won't move him either they kind of just accept their fate and continue what they were doing to the best of their abilities
When Ambrosius has a bad day he cleans
Like obsessively
He won’t stop until every surface in the house is spotless and there isn’t a single dust particle in sight
The only room that he stays out of is Nimona’s (half out of respect for them half out of fear of what he would find in that room)
Most of the time when he feels like the house is up to code he’ll be too tired to move let alone think
And that’s when Bal and Nimona set up their super secret evil plan
Bal forces him to get comfy on the couch while Nimona plays his favorite movies and gives him his favorite snacks
It’s truly diabolical but it’s also what Amrbosius does for them when they’re in a bad mood so they feel no guilt
Sometimes when he’s feeling especially shitty Nimona will shift into a dog and let him cuddle them like a big stuffed animal
So I was just reminded sometimes cats will sit on your injuries and purr because they think it makes you feel better (and as a cat owner I can confirm it does)
When I remembered this I was thinking that Nimona would subconsciously shift into a cat and lay on Bal’s arm or Ambrosius' shoulder when they’re in pain and just purr
And they swear that it helps every single time (kind of like a mom kissing her kid's injuries)
Ambrosius will always use people's full names when he’s pissed at them
I don’t know when this idea popped into my head but I’m just imagining Bal and Nimona chilling outside until they hear “Ballister and Nimona Boldheart get your asses inside now!” from their house
And their neighbors watch as some of the most powerful people in the realm scramble to run inside
Most people would assume that Nimona would either stay where they are out of spite or fly away
But they’re so caught off guard because Ambrosius always calls Nimona “Nim”
Plus he’s made Ambrosius mad enough times to know that if he apologizes enough times and makes Bal give him the patented “Puppy Dog Eyes™” he’ll fold like a lawn chair
Nimona calls Ambrosius “nemesis” for two reasons
The first one is he thinks his name is stupidly long (and Ambrosius agrees) and the second reason is he thinks it sounds cooler (he agrees again)
Plus it’s also hilarious to imagine Nimona yelling “Nemesis” while running full speed at Ambrosius and then tackling him
Sometimes they knock him on his ass and sometimes he picks them up and puts them in air jail

This could be a stretch, and I am putting my clown makeup on (hesitantly though)
So during the ladynoir scene in Exaltation, where Ladybug said that it’s clear Chat Noir doesn’t have feelings for her anymore, to which he replied that it’s not exactly that, he still loves her, but as a friend now.
But what if that’s all a lie?
I know that scene has one of the prettiest colour schemes within the whole episode itself, the red and black contrast with the orangey light from the fire that was caused by Glaciator himself.
And Chat Noir has half his face in the shadows, while the other is brightly lit
Tumblr media
compare that to Ladybug’s
Tumblr media
where the left side of her face is lit up in the orange light too just like his, but her right side isn’t concealed at all.
I don’t know about you, but while watching this scene, my eyes were guided specifically to the half of chat noir’s face that’s brightly lit (which bravo, I’m sure that’s the goal of this scene).
But more importantly, I can’t help but think that having half his face hidden within the shadow, he’s hiding something, he’s not being true to himself. In dark places, we cannot really see what’s going on, and for this effect to appear on Chat Noir’s face, I believe he’s hiding something from Ladybug, from us the audience, he has something that he isn’t willing to share. Specifically, he’s hiding/concealing the fact that he still loves her romantically.
And note that they squat at the same place throughout, from their talk to the point where Ladybug summons her Lucky Charm, and look at the difference in lighting on Chat Noir’s face after Ladybug told him that he’s going to need to trust her on this
Tumblr media
The shadow is gone, there is nothing to hide, because it’s “like always.” Chat Noir wholeheartedly trusts Ladybug, that part is never going to change, it’s the same in the past, it’s the same now, and it’ll be in the future.
No matter what might have changed within their dynamic from here on.

i know we talk about this episode all the time because it really does foreshadow the end in a horrifying way but i am just feeling so sick about the fact that we see this before chuck writes his first ending:
Tumblr media
and then we see this after he rewrites it to be even worse:
Tumblr media
like how is this not just a blatant call to attention of network meddling

the luxon is such an interesting god for so many reasons. it's fascinating. its the only god who's followers do not primarily wield divine magic. in fact, it's worship is defined by a school of arcane magic and some characters even say the luxon is the source of dunamis, which is distinctly arcane. it's also the only god other than tharizdun that has an amorphous/non-physical appearance. it is the only god to have such a large following but also have so little historical prevalence and not have a prime or betrayer title. it is the only god who's religion has a proper creation myth. the luxon beacons are totally unique and no other gods have anything like them. it is the only god that is connected to genuine rebirth and reincarnation rather than a more traditional afterlife. like what the fuck is up with that ? what is the luxon actually?

Smth I REALLY wanna say about scarlet and violet though. Epic ship/polycule headcanons aside, I think it's REALLY visible just how much gamefreak are improving at writing realistic and fleshed out friendships between characters, with actual depth and soul to them. These aren't just random npcs who the game outright has to have a professor tell you 'this is your friend!' and who you have a few nice conversations with while you occasionally battle and compare your dexes. They're much more realistic to what friendships are.
These are characters you get to know, aid the arcs of, visit for idle chitchat, witness bickering and working that out and being silly and overall? It's just like yeah. That's a real friend group right there. While there's SOME characters in older pokemon games they've kinda achieved this with, they did it for so many in sv in a way that's truly charming.

so. The Incident has run its full course now. grian and scar blew up a tunnel bore and now-- now they, and the server at large, have removed Doc's base. this isn't an apology for The Incident, Grian and Scar. this isn't going to make up for The Incident. this is potentially worse than The Incident. what have you done to yourselves and the rest of the server. The Incident Two.

I feel like people keep telling me that men don't have any capacity for making good decisions or being kind or having morals or being a decent person until they're at least 25. I don't think this is true or at least I don't want to believe it is but I don't know enough to say?
#and looking for an argument against this because i do not think i believe it#the age keeps getting pushed back but I've been hearing this my entire life. oh they just make bad decisions and they're immature#because they're boys. they're just like that.#i also feel like saying this excuses it?? the bad ones will see this and use it as an excuse not to put any effort into doing good#my mom says this to me if i ever have any sort of complaint against one. she said it when i was a kid and they'd bother me#that boys my age are just immature and that's just how they are. and now she's saying the same thing#I'm an adult. i don't feel like they really have an age excuse here. but now it's moved up to 25 apparently#they apparently can't have morals and intentionally be good to people until their brains are fully developed#i brought up what my mom says to my friend who's in a long term relationship recently and she laughed and agreed#she has a boyfriend she's been dating since high school and wants to marry. they're not 25 yet. and she agrees with this about him?#counterpoint: my sister's ex boyfriend was always very polite. and he's like 15 or something#he would open doors for her and apparently when his mom buys groceries he helps her bring them in unprompted#i think there were other things like this about him but i don't remember what#anyway I've been thinking about this. clearly because I've been hearing about it but also i guess because when i was in high school#i decided not to date until i was out at least. and now i am out. and I'm not really looking but i think about that sometimes#but what I'm hearing is that guys my age are all just rude and inconsiderate and give no thought to morality or kindness#which i don't feel like i can reasonably believe!#like there are people my age in relationships and getting married. being intentional about things and being adults and such#you'd think logically they can make good decisions and be good enough people for someone to want to marry them#i just don't feel like this can be right. but i don't know enough to disprove it 😂 it's very discouraging to hear though#thoughts? true or false? i do not personally know enough men to know this. i have no brothers or even really male friends#my post

van palmer is first and foremost a survivor. if we think about how young van started off s2 not being able to see her purpose or the reason why she survived and ended s2 essentially being the antithesis of survivals guilt (re: convo with young trav) which i'm guessing becomes her way of dealing with staring death in the face on three separate occasions—— it's quite literally a complete juxtaposition to us being introduced to adult van who is terminally ill and also just trying to survive .. except now they are just surviving to get through the days leading up to her "imminent death" because that's all they've been told they have left. add in the people who van originally survived with and .. yeah:
it makes sense how being so close to death's door would spur an inner battle between van's rational logic and van's deep, primal urge she's always had to survive when she's once again bestowed the chance to interact with the very thing (in this case "the wilderness" and in her own right lottie herself) that she so deeply believed saved her in the past. sure, it might be delusional and sure, it definitely has notes of selfishness because van isn't perfect, but it speaks so loudly to their own personal trauma response. they've never denied being a survivor. not even when they didn't understand why they survived. they have also been pretty notoriously open about where they stand with things. AT LEAST IN THE MOMENT- which is an important takeaway of van's character as a whole, and a big part of why her choice to engage in the ritual/the hunt IN THE MOMENT IT'S HAPPENING doesn't erase the fact that van didn't think committing lottie again was the right answer. because again, just like we saw earlier when they told tai they might be curious but they wouldn't be joining her .. just to ultimately end up joining the group at lottie's .. van's cognitive ability to not get sucked right back into it all isn't very strong. she is desperate to believe in something while she still has the chance to. and as we've seen with each of the yellowjackets time and time again, desperation and trauma are not good mixes.
#headcanons ‚ nostalgia rears its ugly head / 003.#sickness mention /#terminally ill /#trauma /#if anything else needs tagged- lmk.#otherwise:#i needed to get this out because ..#i am not under the impression that van is an 'uwu innocent bby' by any means and i think they are just as tortured as the rest#and i think her intentions do not always come out the way that she would like them to in the WORST of moments#which is not great.#but i was reading on red.dit about how people think van purposely used 'not wanting to commit lottie b/c it's their fault she's like this'#as a way to get what she WANTED:#which was the hunt.#aaaaaaand i just don't believe that in such a bland sense.#i don't think van wanted the hunt.#at least:#they didn't know that they wanted the hunt and they definitely didn't want nat to die or any of them for that matter#unless maybe if the theory that van would have been okay pulling the queen because at least death would be on her terms holds any value#(not fully dissecting that rn that's not necessarily what this is about)#nonetheless. van is dying?? and she's desperate?? and we have all seen what the yj's are capable of when they are desperate and it is#a direct response to their trauma that comes out in all different ways#so maybe van did subconsciously want it (i'm not fully dissecting that either) but she CONSCIOUSLY did not want lottie to be committed agai#because of them#either.#re: van doesn't have survivors guilt but they sure as fuck feel guilty when they can't do something to protect one of them#which i think nat's death will spiral van to some degree. how much? who knows#anyway:#i'm rambling#i've forgotten something surely#idk

I supported this account because fiction is fiction and I'm very anti censorship...
But you keep entertaining weird questions about the actors who are REAL people, not imaginary concepts like Mike and Will are, so I think you need to stop that.
I don't "need" to do anything. This blog doesn't draw lines in the sand about what questions can and can't be asked. It takes a staunch anti-censorship position across the board. If people are interested in certain topics (re: the actors) that relate to Byler, I don't see any problem with "entertaining" them, as you put it. And I've gotten many asks related to it, so people are interested. If you don't want to engage with those questions, please scroll on by or click see results.
I do agree that probably more questions should be about Byler rather than the actors since we should keep the main thing the main thing, but I don't see the harm in asking these kinds of questions in general. There's a big difference between harmless, quiet speculation and actually harassing/bothering actors about your theories IMO. Humans are curious creatures by nature, and so it's natural to speculate. We all do it. So why is it taboo to say that we do?

Wait a second... hang on im making connections....
Katabasis is a descent into the underworld done by heroes of greek/roman epics. A crucial moment in the hero's journey often to seek guidance from the dead or to attempt at bringing someone back. Nostoi is a homecoming, a narrative specifically abt returning home.
Gregor falling into the underland (unintentional) and bringing his father back to the overland, spending the entire time just trying to get home. The prophecy doesnt really matter to him, he just wants to get his dad and go home.
And he does! But he chooses to go back down over and over again, going to a place full of wonder and danger and war and becoming a hero, losing his way home even tho he finds his way back to the overland in the end. The underland being so connected with death that when he chooses it and the people within in, he struggles to live in the overland (and struggles to live at all without ares).
Im barely coherent im just thinking abt the influence of these narrative devices in this series.

Another fun theory: Bionis's ecosystem is held together by fate and duck tape. By removing the passage of fate, Shulk inadvertently caused multiple ecological crisises at once.
Evidence:
- Ponios, Laias, and Fossil Monkeys all canonically went extinct in Xenoblade 3. You can find their fossils as collectibles.
- Most of the life from Bionis uses the designs of their Alrest counterparts, implying that their Bionis versions couldn't sustain themselves. View Ferrises, Gogols, and Ignas for the most obvious examples.
- a lot of the stuff from Bionis that didn't explicitly go extinct is still not visible in Aionios. Such as Dienos, Hillns, Lexoses, etc.
- While there is stuff from Bionis that survived no fate, it's few and far between, especially considering that the stuff that did survive consists mostly of wildlife with identical counterparts in Alrest, which makes it indescribable whether their Bionis variants actually survived or not.
- none of the plant life from Eryth Sea appears to have survived Aionios. The plants from the floating islands are different and also it's a wasteland, while the life in Erythia Sea is completely different from what existed in Eryth Sea.
- Erythia Sea mostly consists of enemies introduced in Xenoblade 3. Considering the nature of Zanza's world vs Alrest, there are a few lore explanations I can image to explain this.
These guys could have existed in Alrest and Rex and Co. just never encountered them (which is probable since they canonically did not see the entirety of Alrest and the only Archipelago or Sea-like place they visited was Leftheria). Which means stuff like Gulpins always existed.
They evolved from their Bionis variants. Which has some basis in the Merfray closely resembling the Ignas that inhabited Eryth Sea. My only question here is how they managed to evolve so quickly. That kind of evolution should normally take millions of years. While it's unclear how long Aionios has existed, it's somewhere in the realm of thousands of years, not millions. So something's up if we were to assume this option.
Alvis edited the biological make-up of lifeforms in the new world, which would permit Gulpins and Merfrey to exist. I have not played Future Connected, so if there is any explicit evidence for that idea, it would occur there given that it's the only instance of gameplay between Shulk's world and Aionios.
Somehow the merging of worlds caused new species to be invented. Unless 3's story dlc ends in a way where someone temporarily assumes godhood, this seems unlikely.
Aionios only took parts of the Bionis and Alrest. So the creatures from Bionis that didn't make it into Aionios are happy and alive in Shulk's World.
Alrest's wildlife is simply built different. So, when Aionios was formed, Alrest's life acted like an invasive species and decimated the life native to Bionis. But these creatures wouldn't be extinct if the worlds didn't fuse.
- a lot of the life on Bionis doesn't look even remotely sustainable, especially factoring in their location. Like, take the Gogols in Bionis Leg for example, where the fuck are they securing the food required to sustain a group of apes that are literally larger than any other local wildlife. Rotbart in particular is unsustainable. Where's he getting his food from? My poor boy is gonna starve to death. How dare Zanza do this to Rotbart >:(
- a lot of life on Bionis looks like a mistake. Like, why tf do Deinos have a second head lodged into their neck? High Entia being able to fly with their wings would realistically result in their necks snapping, especially considering that they lack any visible muscle around their necks to prevent that from happening. Nebula literally just kill themselves as a self-defense mechanism. What the fuck? Also what the fuck is wrong with the Ferrises in Makna Forest? Like, why'd Zanza do that to their face? Fucking rude. Why are there so many creatures in Valak Mountain that do not look even remotely adapted to the concept of the cold?
- Zanza didn't give a crap about the sustainability of his creations without the Passage of Fate to keep them in check. The whole point of Alvis rebelling against him was that Zanza created an unsustainable world. So, creating an ecosystem that wouldn't immediately self combust without Fate keeping it in check would've taken a lot of effort that Zanza had no incentive to make. Alvis also doesn't exactly have a given reason to care if the ecosystem in Shulk's world implodes. And Shulk wouldn't have had a reason to create something to keep the ecosystem in check because he's not a biologist and he'd have no way of knowing about how evolution actually works since he spent his entire life experiencing biology under Zanza's framework (basically, he never thought to question how removing the concept of Fate might affect random wild animals).
- the one instance of an invasive species occurring on Bionis was the Leone Telethia in Makna Forest. We can see that a single animal going somewhere it shouldn't resulted in multiple areas of the forest being utterly decimated. We could assume that this is a Telethia thing, but without Fate keeping every species in its designated location (and Telethia still existing in Shulk's world), there's nothing really stopping random animals from going places they weren't designed to go and bulldozing the food chain.
- the same thing as the previous point could be applied to Alrest and Aionios for different reasons. In Alrest, you're looking at a ton of different island ecosystems and then they suddenly get gracelessly mashed together to form Elysium. There's nothing stopping, say the Gogols native to Gormott from migrating to Uraya and decimating the ecosystem that wasn't adapted to Gogols. Meanwhile Aionios even less gracefully mashes unrelated worlds together while spontaneously imploding. The Tirkins from Gaur Plain perhaps died off because of the giant ambush predator plants ported from Alrest. Which would explain why there are no Tirkins in Aionios's plains areas.

The first time he went down, it was thinking of his husband, his father. He had failed them, but he would see them soon. They were where it started, his life, his reason, and they would be what he thought of last.
The second time, it was his friend. Blue, and kind, and scared. He only managed to get the stone half out before he was gone again.
Then, there were fingers in his hair, warm compared to the cold ground beneath him. He thought this was it, he’d passed. He hadn’t avenged anyone and he hadn’t left a message for the future, but he was here, now, with the people he loved.
Orym opened his eyes to a red latticework.

I find it really funny when people draw or make posts about c!Q and k!Q where c!Q is the 'evil, sneaky, scary and cruel' one to k!Q's 'innocent, doe-eyed, kind, and good" self, because like I feel rather confident in saying that k!Q is the worse one of the two LOL
