My Hazbin Archangels;
Asks about them are more than Welcome
These are very developed OCs so at this point I need to make masterpost for how my interpretation of them works
Listing I'm using is;
Lucifer, Michael, Raphael, Uriel, Gabriel, Jophiel, Zadkiel |__________________| |___________| |__________________| ^ ^ ^ Elder Sister syndrome, Forgotten middle children, family babies
I don't include Azrael mostly cause weirdly intense and underappreciated job are covered by Michael and Lucifer and I feel it would undermine both of their supposed isolation, you can only have so many outcasts and loners in a group of seven that are also a team.
Yes I did make up all the titles based vaguely on translations and mythological roles, it felt weird for just Luci to have something like "the morningstar"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Originally called Angels of Creation or Heirs of the Almighty; they were uniquely Imbued with powers of Creation and raised as His own offspring. (He kinda had to there was nothing else)
Each was hatched in tandem with a realm they were charged with overseeing the development of; in line with the Seven Days of Creation.
Later these seven were named the Archangels and designated the highest authorities within Heaven; however most their duties are distant from the rest of Heaven's hierarchy, the most involved they get is in delivering commands, as God is rarely willing to talk to anyone other than them.
While they were all hatched over the course of a single week, the order was still very important as it defined the chain of command; so much so that the oldest two were called twins just cause they were equal in power. (practically speaking, they're all septuplets)
They all call each other brother, only three have genders, only two are men and Luci's mostly doing it as a bit. They can be a child, a kid, a hatchling, or a fledgling of God but never a son or daughter, isn't gender fun?
Day 1: Lucifer
‘Let there be light’
Lucifer(he/him); the Morningstar, Herald of Creation. The fallen one the brother below Made to be incapable of worship so he could never be satisfied with God's perfection alone and would seek out other paths to take creation.
(which does count as a neurodivergency, angels are inherently creatures of worship)
He'd find flaws in his brothers' realms and expand them into something entirely unique. He was less in charge of anything and more excluded from the control of anyone else. He also regularly got into arguments with their Father for shits and giggles, giving his very reverent brothers fucking heart attacks. (they assumed he was allowed to do this because he was the favourite and not perhaps the other way around)
Day 2: Michael
"the Heavens are separated from the Earth",
Michael(he/it); the Divineblade, Archangel of Law and Truth, Highest of All Angels, Charged with the creation of the Heavens and all other angels.
Most devoted to the Father's will; Chronic workaholic and quite resentful of his own personhood, all he wants is to be God's perfect tool but he keeps having feelings. Well-respected as a leader by his siblings; relentlessly bullied by them (out of love) as a brother for being unable to comprehend 'outgrowing their first intended purpose'. Hes got a famous polite stoic demeanour that's equally infamous for being broken by Lucifer's anything and nothing else. He is getting steadily worse at his job and its going to break him any day now.
Day 3: Raphael
"the waters are gathered, the earth brings forth life"
Raphael(all/they); the Healingspur, Archangel of Life, Keeper of Balance, Charged with the creation of the seas and vegetation.
Mediator of the twins' constant arguments, most consistent voice of reason in any room; Michael's right hand and the only reason he remembers to eat(they don't need to but its good for them). Gentle and controlled but also quite stern. Very strong sense of empathy that is systematically destroying them as they face others on their worse days over and over again. They are the most aware of how Lucifer absence is tearing each of their brothers apart and how unwilling anyone is to even acknowledge it; they have pretty much resigned themselves to the approaching all-out breakdown, there's not much a healer can do before the injury.
Day 4: Uriel
"the sky is filled with signs of days, months, season and years"
Uriel(all/they); the Aflameword, Archangel of Knowledge, keeper of the sun, stars and archives, Charged with the creation of constellations and planets.
Likes things quiet and tidy. Ordinarily quite reserved; preferring to keep to themselves, focus on documenting and organizing and simply observe the others. But unwilling to be resigned, has stepped up as the only one willing to call Michael on his bullshit, like refusing to officially promote Raph to second in command despite them already taking up all of Lucifer old duties; and even hesitantly but directly questioning their Father on some things, which is a lot for any of them. Has an arrogance streak, doesn't enjoy reminders of what they don't know; especially that they are just as in the dark about God's big plan as anyone else.
Day 5: Gabriel
"the earth is filled with creatures"
Gabriel(all/they); the Herocue, Archangel of Order, Keeper of progress, Charged with the creation of creatures and their instincts.
Gabe is a somewhat of a Hermes figure, Michael’s left hand. Quick and always eager to provide their services to anyone who asks; especially known for getting last minute tasks down for Michael. Their wings buzz like a hummingbird at the speeds they fly. Always set on efficiency with a reputation for being deadly serious but is secretly bit of a prankster. A gremlin when they get their mind set on something and will regularly startle others out by clinging to walls or ceilings. In charge of most of heaven’s military and had A bit of a complex about being weaker than Michael despite being the soldier of the seven.
Additional; a Channel suited for Him also sometimes called a sockpuppet, they can be possessed as God's vessel to act as his direct body and voice (without the negative repercussions to their body and mind or discomfort to Him other angels or creations would cause)
Day 6: Jophiel
humans are brought forth as caretakers of the earth
Jophiel(she/her); the Gracespector, Archangel of Passion, Keeper of Beauty, Charged with the creation of humanity
Highlight of every room she enters, quick-witted and an equal to Gabe, even a challenge to Michael on the battlefield. Always up for a good challenge, puzzle or debate. An open prankster, Gabriel is her hidden accomplice. Will defend the potential of humanity to her last breath, a more and more controversial stand; she's pretty upset at never getting to finish her masterpiece since she lost a lot of control of mankind once free will was introduced, she still tries to influence them probably more than she's really technically allowed. Knows about politics.
Day 7: Zadkiel
creation was finished, and the day was blessed
Zadkiel(all/they); the Righteouspeace, Archangel of Grace, Keeper of the Holy day, Charged with miracles and blessings.
Detached, muted and kinda smug but well meaning. They try but they don't really know how to interact with those of their equals. Their devotion rivals Michael’s but they’re quieter. Insecurity about having such an unclear purpose next to the other seven has let them entirely give themselves over to faith. If it happens, Father means it. Spends by far the most amount of time on earth(Gabriel is a distant second) and has strong opinions on every individual sect of Christianity and how they build their churches. They are continually surprised by how out of touch their brothers and rest of Heaven is to the religion that worships them, come on guys at least Our Brother Down Under has an excuse.
Additional; also a Channel suited for Him
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The youngest three are very close on account of being shut up out of important arguments and being left to gossip upon themselves
Michael tries really hard to convince himself Lucifer is The Enemy (he can't live with the alternative) but the other five are of the opinion "He transgressed, he got punished, still being angry at this point is just petty" and still want to be in his life. However, they still don't really get what he was trying to do, Lucifer is also hung up on how none of them came to check on him.
He didn't see any of them for 5 000 years and when he did it was Michael holding a sword to his throat and demanding to know why he was on earth.
From Luci's perspective; the fall very nearly killed him and only didn't because the Sins found him before he bled out; it was then years of painful recovery that never quite healed right. It wasn't like there was anything in hell that could hold a candle to the power of an Archangel, he would know. There was nothing stopping them, he was always there for them when they needed him, but when he was scared and hurt, they just abandoned him.
From their perspective; archangels were, and still are, assumed unkillable, and practically indestructible. This was the first time Father had ever punished like this before and they were terrified. No one was willing to risk it now that Falling was on the table; now that they saw He absolutely was willing to sacrifice His children for the Plan, whatever it was.

Metatron's manipulation step by step
Part 1: The coffee
The very first thing we see Metatron do on Earth is order a coffee in Nina's shop. Which is very convenient, because I don't think I would be able to properly analyze the finale without discussing the role of the drink first.
No, I do not believe the coffee was tampered with in any way. It's just a regular coffee. But I do agree it's important, and the scene where Metatron places his order is in the show for a very good reason.
What reason is that?
Well, what do you think is the reason for any drink that we get to see this season? Because I don't know if you've noticed but there are quite a few of them.
Maggie asks for a skinny latte, which we learn is her usual. Then she comes back, but since it's too late for coffee she asks for a herbal tea but can't make up her mind between mint and chamomile.
Crowley demands the famous six shots of Esspresso in one mug.
Aziraphale asks for a large sherry at the pub and Crowley orders a large Talisker.
Job's children make a lot of fuss about their wine.
Mrs. Sandwich buys four drinks for her girls, one of which is double Americano with oat milk and hazelnut syrup (we don't know what the other three were but we can safely assume they were just as specific).
In 1827 Crowley influences Mister Dalrymple to offer him and Aziraphale some whisky.
And obviously, Gabriel Jim gets a lot of hot chocolate.
Oh, but let's not forget the less fortunate encounters with various beverages.
When Aziraphale is first offered wine in 2500 BC, he is repulsed.
When Muriel is offered tea, they have no idea how to hold the cup and insist they prefer to just look at it.
And finally, when Gabriel and Beelzebub go on a date in The Resurrectionist, the Archangel orders "two goblets of your intoxicating liquor, please" and when the bartender asks which liquor, he specifies "whichever one it is you humans usually orally consume". After putting the glasses of beer on the table, he calms Beelzebub with "you don't actually have to consume". And indeed they never do touch their drinks.
Do you see the pattern?
Humans drink things all the time. We drink to stay alive, but also to influence our bodies in certain ways (alcohol to get intoxicated, coffee to get stimulated, herbal infusions to get calmed, etc.), and as part of social rituals. What, how, and when we drink is a very important part of our lives. We follow certain customs but we also have very specific personal preferences.
In season 2 we see a lot of humans act normally about drinks, Aziraphale and Crowley pretty much assimilated in that regard but still sticking out on occasion, and supernatural entities unfamiliar with Earth completely lost and confused by the whole thing.
And the reason for showing it all is to provide context for the scene when Metatron asks for a large oat milk latte with a dash of almond syrup for Aziraphale.
The reason for that scene, in turn, is to let us know, that Metatron knows what he's doing. He's not like the Archangels - ignorant, incompetent, and easily fooled. He knows and understands Earth. The problem is, he also wants it destroyed. And stopping him would be far more difficult than anything in season 1 was.
Continued in Part 2: learning from past mistakes

Any recommendations for beginners? I recently binged seasons 1 and 2 and I'm looking for fic recs. I typically use ao3 but other sites are fine. I looking for something to ease myself into this fandom, so possibly canon compliant and fluffy.
Yes @prettypunkgeek , we have some suggestions for you. We got the most famous ones (however some of the most famous are Human AU, which we avoided. But if you want to know some of them, just ask us). Another thing that was avoided were 18+ fics, the ones in the list were mostly Teen and General Audiences.

“And that would, that would involve, what?” he spoke hesitantly, softly. “Holding your hand, telling you that you mean a lot to me, kissing you for them to see?”
Two great hands were constricting Aziraphale’s lungs. He fought back an undignified wheeze. “Yes, I think so.”
“I can do that,” he croaked.

Why? Aziraphale wanted to ask him, why millennia of the way things were, and now this?
But while Crowley seemed to have little issue upending every unspoken rule they’d ever written for themselves, Aziraphale was not so flexible, and they had spent thousands of years never quite addressing whatever it was this had stemmed from. Words, Aziraphale had always felt, were for bickering about where to eat for lunch, or hashing out ontological debates, or other trivial nonsense; there was no need to trifle with the imprecision of language, with phrasing and the possibility of being misconstrued, when it came to important matters if the other person simply understood, without needing it said. Six thousand years ago, when Aziraphale had met Crowley on the wall of Eden, watching the first two humans set out to begin the rest of history, something deep within him, more central even than his Grace, had thought, oh, it’s you, and that had been enough for him--for both of them, he assumed--for three millennia.
However much he wanted to ask, he didn’t know how. The words simply weren’t there.

where the heck is Raphael
I assume we all agree that the narrative is strongly implying that Crowley was but a common angel (the 25 lazarii miracle, the high rank clearance, what he says to Gabriel about knowing how it feels, how he does not tell Aziraphale his name when they first meet during the galaxy creation scene, the fact he knows The Metatron -an angry and flame surrounded versione of The Metatron, Saraqael having worked side by side with him, and also maybe some too powerful miracles here and there like in S1 when he was able to froze time for himself, Aziraphale and Adam in a sort of Heavenly space in the middle of a Very Important Moment) ...so the point is which not common angel was he.
From my very personal point of view the main thing in favor of him being Lucifer is that I would love that sentence in S1 to be the opposite of what we thought it to be. I'm referrinf to: "I was just minding my business one day and then, oh lookie here, it's Lucifer and the guys"; the last part would therefore be not something Crowley said, but something that was addressed to him. Someone came there, took a look at him and went "ohh, it's Lucifer and the guys" and started to complaing about the food. I appreciate this kind of 'irrelevant subversion' of how you first pictured a told (and not yet shown) scene in your mind. Also it would be fun for Lucifer to be, in this universe, not the mind behind the rebellion but someone who was just minding his business and someone else saw as the right person to go to to give further resonance to some minor issues about the food.
But.
But from the same very personal point of view, I'd love for Crowley to be Raphael because I would love for the Great Raphael to be a fallen angel in this retelling of christian mythology. Lucifer is THE fallen angel, everyone knows he was the first to cast down the pearly gates; most christians associate him with Satan, call him the first sinner, consider him inherently baaad.
But Raphael? One of the greatest angels? One of the saints? To be one of the fallen?
Just. Lovely.
Also I recognize the story has an important hole here:
Where the heck is Raphael?
At least Lucifer was mentioned, also Hell has so far not had the same amount of screentime as Heaven has, so I don't see the absence of Lucifer (given that in this universe Satan≠Lucifer) as deliberate as the absense of Raphael.
Everyone is familiar with Gabriel, Michael and Raphael as they are familiar with Lucifer. Yet Raphael is never shown nor mentioned.
Everyone is familiar with Gabriel, Michael and Raphael, almost no one is familiar with Uriel and Saraqael and no one is familiar with hecking Sandalphon. Yet they chose not to use the famous trio Gabriel-Michael-Raphael to straightforward let the audience know 'this is Heaven's Small Council'. No, they get rid of Raphael like he was a barely known angel, like he was an angel no one knows the name of before reading about angeology, like he was a Sandalphon.
Listen, this is deliberate.
The absence of Raphael is deliberate.
And I would love for him to be the 'angel who fell because he was asking too many questions'.
I would love for him to be the powerful Supreme Archangel that was just minding his business when Lucifer and the boys reached out to.
May I add.
...even if Crowley is not Raphael, I'm sure Raphael would pop up somewhere else, because the narrative has strongly pointed in the direction of a fallen Great One.
I refuse to believe The Metraton said
"For one Prince of Heaven to be cast into the outer darkness makes a good story. For it to happen twice makes it look like there is some sort of institutional problem." about some hecking Sandalphon.
--
Little addition because I have never seen this Very Valid Point mentioned:
Crowley gives away a lot of younger sibling energy when interacting with Gabriel and Middle Child Michael 😌

METATRON: or an explanation about why his inclusion in the S2 and S3 narrative is fascinating and weird, actually
Originally, this was going to be a stupid, unlikely, and mildly cynical theory about what I think is going to happen in S3 and how it might compare to my third least favorite TV show finale.
But while I was writing it I went down a Metatron rabbit hole and honestly? It's pretty crazy. Like, really crazy.
Part 1: Metatron
So who is Metatron, anyway?
(This gets a bit detailed but I promise it pays off!)
I think a lot of people, because Metatron is in the book (which is a Book of Revelation parody), assume that he was also a figure in the New Testament- or barring that, in the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible. But he wasn't! In fact, Metatron isn't in Christian scripture or early literature at all.
Metatron is really a (very nearly, he's also mentioned in Islamic texts) Jewish figure. The exact origins are a bit fuzzy to me, as while I'm a scholar of Jewish history this isn't my era (it also gets pretty mystical and my worst grades were on mysticism-related papers), but essentially you're not seeing the name until a century or two after the Common Era at the very least. In antiquity, the name is largely found in the 3rd Book of Enoch (and later other Merkabot/Hekhalot literature) and in the Talmud.
The 3rd Book of Enoch is a work whose origins date back to anywhere from the 1st to the 5th century CE and it continues the themes of the 1st and 2nd books which discuss Enoch, the seventh generation from Adam in the Book of Genesis. In Genesis, Enoch is noted as having been taken by God rather than dying, and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Book of Enoch expands on this idea of Enoch being a massively powerful figure in Heaven (keeper of treasures, God's right hand figure, leader of the archangels, etc)- and even potentially being a lesser/dual version of God. In the 3rd book in particular, the word Metatron is used to describe him.
For those who are aware of Jewish theology, it might have occurred to you that the idea of there being a duality of God in any way is a pretty fraught one; Enoch is largely non-canonical in Judaism*, but it was still cited reasonably frequently by Jews in the early Common Era. In the next few centuries, we start to see more mentions of Metatron (at this point, not explicitly identified with Enoch) in Jewish literature, and this becomes a pretty big deal.
We then have three Talmudic mentions of Metatron, and one of them (Avodah Zarah 3b) is relatively minor, but does suggest, importantly, that God deputizes Metatron to do tasks that God would otherwise do. The other two are more interesting here. In Sanhedrin 38b, we see a debate between Rav (Rabbi) Idit and a heretic, who suggests that perhaps Metatron, which Rav Idit has mentioned as a representative of God, should be worshipped on par with God; Rav Idit makes clear that this is not correct.
The most interesting, though, is the story in Chagiga 15a, which tells the story of Rabbi Elisha ben Abuyah, otherwise known as Acher (the Other, signifying that he is a heretic). The story of Acher is a quite famous one, but here it's told with a particular twist that didn't make it into the versions that I learned in Jewish day school- the involvement of Metatron and its influence on the precise nature of Acher's heresy.
Rabbi Elisha ben Abuyah was a 1st century rabbi and teacher who was one of the leaders of his generation who is described as having been one of the four rabbis who entered the "Pardes," or orchard- and he cut down the saplings, becoming a heretic. This is usually interpreted to mean that he was exposed to deep, fundamental understandings of God which caused him to turn away. In this particular version of the story, what he saw was a vision of Heaven in which Metatron was sitting in God's presence. To Elisha ben Abuyah, this was a massive affront to God- surely one should stand in God's presence! This led him to believe that maybe there were two powers in Heaven, and thus led him down the road to heresy and the epithet Acher.
The story continues that as a result, Metatron was beaten with fiery rods to make a statement that he was not parallel to God, contrary to what Acher believed. Metatron was also asked why he hadn't stood up when Acher arrived, to avoid the conclusion. The answer is that the Metatron had permission to sit in order to "write the merits of Israel."
And, because of this heresy by Acher, Metatron is given permission to erase Acher's good deeds. There is a voice from Heaven saying that all sinners may return- except for Acher. This leads to Acher's purposeful slide into heresy more broadly (his first stop is literally to a sex worker, something that would be unacceptable for a rabbi, to PROVE that he's now gone bad).
(Also worth noting- in the Jerusalem Talmud, an entirely different reason is given for Acher's heresy- not that he believed in dualism but that he was angry about unfair human suffering.)
The story of Acher is interesting, in this context, for two reasons:
it's another indication that Jewish tradition is going to absolutely reject any possibility of duality and
it gives a clear indication of what Metatron's power is
So... we know all that. Now what? (You may already have some inkling.)
Part 2: Cosmic Megatron
I've called this section by this name because everything I'm going to say should be foregrounded by my belief that most of this is likely coincidence.
Metatron is a character in the original book of Good Omens, and as far as I can tell is there to fill two functions- to have a heavenly representative and thus avoid having to write dialogue for God, and so that they can have a joke where Pepper confuses him with the Cosmic Megatron, apparently a toy made of plastic, which features laser cannon and can turn into a helicopter.
(He's also called the Metatron- I'm not 100% sure why.)
We know from what Neil Gaiman has been saying that he and Terry Pratchett wrote the book in a pretty casual way. Obviously, the book is written with a certain amount of knowledge about the Bible and Judeo-Christian** religion, which from things that Gaiman has said I think he attributes to their being two bright, well-read men who were educated in a Christian-majority country but which I'm sure also included a decent amount of research- hence the bit in the beginning with different calculations for the year of creation. (Gaiman is of course Jewish but I don't get the impression that he had any formal Jewish education, though I could be wrong.) But it seems to be written largely as satire of some pretty well known Christian concepts, for the most part, though nicely detailed.
That's why my assumption is that Metatron must have been included as an offhand joke, by one of them who had heard of him as a spokesman figure in some other context. Because despite the fact that the Book of Enoch is known within Christianity, that's largely the 1st Book of Enoch, not the 3rd, which is the one where the name Metatron is identified with Enoch. If there are any scholars of Christianity reading this, please correct me if I'm wrong, but- I don't think that Metatron would be a familiar angelic/heavenly figure to the average person given a cursory de facto Christian thinking in purely Christian terms. Therefore, presumably the name was one that either Pratchett or Gaiman had heard in another context and that one of them (possibly Pratchett, as he was apparently the one who mostly wrote the kids) thought would make for an entertaining joke about plastic toys that turn into other plastic toys.
We then know that in a hotel room, after they wrote Good Omens, Pratchett and Gaiman plotted out a potential sequel, tentatively titled 668: Neighbor of the Beast. We know that this was going to feature more of Heaven's side, as Gaiman said in the run up to the expanded S1 (which of course featured the new-to-us characters of Gabriel, Uriel and Michael) that the angel characters were already part of the plan for the sequel. We also know, of course, that S2 is meant as a transition to S3, which is the actual plot to the sequel book.
Obviously, we don't quite know yet what that plot is going to be- but presumably, at some point in it Aziraphale was going to go up to Heaven. But presumably Gabriel, who we can now be quite confident was written out of S3, would have been part of that story in the book! The fact that we AREN'T getting Gabriel in a S3 that's based on a sequel idea that specifically included Gabriel (or so we're told) means that that role must be filled by someone.
It seems very likely that
what would have been Gabriel's role is being filled by Metatron and
Metatron wasn't necessarily supposed to be in the sequel, and thus (in theory) S3, at all.
Now Point 2 is only a guess, and it's entirely possible that it's wrong. But I wonder (and this is a totally separate theory, in some ways) whether the role that Metatron played in S2 is one that would have been played by Gabriel if Jon Hamm had wanted to stay. The casting of Sir Derek Jacobi in S1 was not one that implied to me that this was a character who they had plans for- it was a one-scene role in a show with a decent number of minor cameos for well known actors. His return this season was honestly a pretty big shock to me- and seems to be setting him up as a significant figure in the upcoming season. (Which, incidentally, seems like one that can be pretty easily acted in voiceover/green screen, making it a good role for an actor who may not want a full six episode season of a show.)
So- whether we accept my above hypothesis as true or not- why Metatron?
Part 3: Cosmic Metatron
So mostly these are questions. I obviously don't know the answers any more than anyone else does. I could even be wrong about some of my basic assumptions as far as the timeline.
But regardless, I think that the use of Metatron will be incredibly interesting this season for a few reasons.
First of all, let's discuss the Book of Life. It is, unlike Metatron, actually in the Bible- both Hebrew Bible and Old/New Testament. (In fact, the Book of Life is mentioned in the Book of Revelation- the main source material for the book/S1!) In Judaism, the Book of Life is actually something that is still part of Jewish tradition to this day. On Rosh HaShana, the first day of the year, our prayer for a new year is so that our names can be put in the Book of Life due to our good deeds.
We already know, from Part 1, that Metatron is God's scribe, who writes down people's good deeds- and while the story of Metatron and Acher above is never directly connected to the idea of the Book of Life, the thematic similarities are undeniable and it seems pretty clear that they're talking about the same idea. So we have a potential connection between Metatron as a potential character in Good Omens with the Book of Life as a potential concept in Good Omens- along with the fact that a person can be erased from the Book of Life with eternal ramifications.
It seems pretty clear that, whatever reason Pratchett and Gaiman may have had for including Metatron in the book, he now has a pretty solid reason for being here in the show, based on what we already know.
Also relevant is the status of Metatron. In the 3rd Book of Enoch, we know that he is God's right hand, head of all the archangels, and even is given a title that connotes him as a "lesser God." Which is, as noted, pretty theologically wild for Judaism, and a big reason why Metatron and Enoch don't get a lot of play in contemporary Jewish theology (besides for mysticism). We also know that it's the idea that there can be TWO powers behind the throne that led Acher to be eternally condemned as a heretic.
Someone posted a VERY interesting meta here- I can't find it right this moment- which suggested that God is no longer really around in the world, and that the Job minisode- the final time in the show's chronology when we hear God's voice as anything but narrator- Heaven is bathed in golden light, whereas afterward it has a more sterile and empty white light. I find that to be an fascinating idea- that Metatron is actually serving in some kind of parallel-God role in God's absence.
I'm not going to pretend to know WHY this is. There are lots of interesting potential plot angles- you could have Metatron deposing God, you could have God purposefully withdrawing from humanity/the bureaucracy of religion (maybe something similar to in Pratchett's Monstrous Regiment, which would actually make quite a bit of sense if this was part of the unwritten sequel as he could have recycled the idea), you could have some kind of a power struggle, etc. But it does seem clear- we have Metatron as what is essentially a Godlike figure, with enough power to completely depose Gabriel, shut down the other angels, and elevate Aziraphale (if that's indeed what he does- he is at least able to convince Aziraphale that he has that power, which is something).
We have a Metatron strong enough for someone to, potentially, question whether maybe HE'S the one exercising Godly power. And potentially face the worst of consequences for those questions, consequences that we know Metatron is able to deal out. Consequences which were already threatened in S2.
Now that would certainly fit in VERY well with the kinds of plots we might expect from a Good Omens 3...
It also could lead to a fascinating dynamic if they give Metatron an origin story of being Enoch. Having the big cheese in Heaven be someone who used to be human? That's a fantastic concept, just like how S2 centered a character for whom so much can be explained by the fact that he's a demon who was once an angel.
Basically, I think there is the potential for some interesting stuff here.
Caveat
None of this answers a separate question that I have- why bring in a Jewish angelic figure for a story as intensely Christian as the Second Coming? I have a feeling that the answer is going to be "because it's fun"- regardless of how Metatron is used. That said, if there ends up being a narrative where there's Metatron representing the vengeful God of the Old Testament and Jesus as a nice dude who represents something more forgiving then... Idunno, I'm not gonna be super thrilled.
And also- I'll put it out here now- I didn't love S2. Among other things, I think it was pretty simplistic and I don't think that it developed its ideas to their full potential. I don't know that I trust S3 to be as interested in these details to have ANY of this show up in the plot. It could totally be that Metatron is only there because he's in the book, and the Book of Life is only there because it's in the Book of Revelation. Obviously, I don't know.
But I do think that, whatever Gaiman does write if the show gets renewed, there's a lot of material here for him to work from, if he wants to.
*with the exception of among Ethiopian Jews- in fact, the only extant complete version of the 3rd Book of Enoch is in the Ethiopian religious language Ge'ez
**this is a terrible term and I use it only under protest

Eugene: Harbourtown's Hollow Protector (A Meta Analysis)
Tumblr media
The night is dim, awaft with the scent of sea-salt spray and crushed autumn leaves. A nearby cafe jingles with the sound of clinking cups, and it's heady aroma envelops the people with laughter and dance, untouched by the vastness of the sky and the sea. All but for one. His name is Eugene. He wears a neon pink jacket. He has a strange fondness for the word momentous. He's the sole "Protector of Harbourtown~!" But a hero complex-- and the insecurity beneath it-- doesn't spring from nowhere.
Not dissimilar to the melancholy ambience of New Wirral, the concept of emptiness and uselessness plagues Eugene throughout his adventures, and this comes to light in the archangel fight with Mammon.
Tumblr media
Eugene reacts-- for an otherwise bombastic, enthusiastic guy-- quite poorly. He initially pushes back and gets defensive-- 'You don't know a SINGLE thing about me', but one can't keep up the charade of denial forever, and he begins to break down. Somewhere in his heart, he seems to read these words as true. Eugene comes from a post-capitalistic society, or at least the start of one. There, life was 'slowly' changing in emphasis from being 'rich and famous' to being generous to one's community. But even though Eugene states that it was a sudden shift in society's ways, such change never is so instantaneous. With billions of people on the earth, with a spectrum of political opinions, the hard-coding of capitalism is something that is difficult to undo. The ideal of getting a good job has been going on for decades, for instance. So to a bunch of children caught in the midst of it all, in the beginning of new change, indoctrinated into a capitalistic world that was bursting at the seams... it's daunting. Engulfing. And that's clearly what's happened in Eugene's case. He states that he was 'never very good at' the new way of life. This, combined with his reaction to Mammon which he holds to some truth-- 'I want order because you do. I crave structure because you do' shows that this new way of doing things has left Eugene feeling rather... useless. Especially since, truth be told, he doesn't see much in himself in the first place. Within the Gramophone Cafe, there's a bit of optional dialogue between him and Kayleigh. Kayleigh inquires that, with Eugene's desire to benefit Harbourtown, why doesn't he go join the rangers himself? To which he goes:
Tumblr media
Besides the point that he is clearly putting up a front, when Kayleigh teases that he wouldn't be up to complete their challenge, we get this instead:
Tumblr media
But! As Kayleigh tells the player after they acquire their ranger challenge, it's specific to the person applying. Kayleigh went around doing errands because that's in her nature. The player undertakes a combat challenge because that's in their forte, or at least the game assumes so. It's a bit suspicious, then, that Eugene reacts in this way. But after all, capitalism does take time away from personal development, it's no wonder that this boy doesn't understand what value he brings to the table innately, by breathing, by being alive and a good spirit, and trying and failing and trying some more. He needs to be told, multiple times, assuaged of it really, that 'You don't need to be a hero to have value'. That he doesn't need to go around heralding some grand cause to be something in the world. That niggling insecurity of his is further implied in the Aldgrave Tomb Station, with the gravestone text. The archangel for this one, Lamento Mori, as the pun also implies, is as much about death as it is the fear of being unable to live a meaningful and fulfilling life before it. The text changes for each of the party members to reflect their internal struggles, whether it is Kayleigh's people-pleasing, Felix's embarrassment over his past art, or in Eugene's case: 'All talk and no action'. And it is because of that Eugene is wrapped up in an unfulfilling hero complex. A hero is a strict role. They're defenders of justice. Chivalrous. Selfless. Brave. A far-cry from the open-endness, and thus emptiness, that Eugene sought to bury within him as he fought the landkeepers. It's a comfortable act to play, and that feeling of stopping the bad guys does well to console the ego and mind in the moment. And you know Eugene is really trying to play into it, because when he's caught in the heat of the moment, he reacts with embarrassment, as if he knows it's childish:
Tumblr media
Which brings us to his series of relationship heart events. Because though insecurity is like a gaping hole in the heart, and Eugene has so far been trying to cover it up with the cling-film bravado of heroism, the cover can always be removed. It can be filled with something much more nourishing, like soil, which is precisely what happens. Eugene finds a new comfort in starting a community garden. And though it might initially read that he's still trapped in that cycle of constantly needing to help others, the truth is, he's beginning to liberate himself from the idea that he is useless. He takes pride in his little garden, and shows genuine confidence in it and it's potential, rather than snapping up under pressure like with Mammon, being tentative as if with the ranger challenge, or fawning over in embarrassment when the player first encounters him.
And the day is bright, and the scent of flowers and mulch lingers in the air. A nearby cafe jingles with the sound of clinking cups, and it's heady aroma envelops the people with laughter and dance, untouched by the vastness of the sky and the sea. And this time, everyone is there.

Thanks for reading my meta take on best boi!!! I highly recommend this other speculative opinion and it's addition by my friend @hungrydolphin91 and @millipedish, which I think is absolutely wonderful and very supplementary to mine :). I just didn't want to regurgitate the same stuff because. y'know. academic honesty and plagiarism ^^;

Hi, I can Alastor, Husk, Cherri Bomb, Loona, Striker and Agent 1 (separately) in a secret relationship with an s/o angel and someone covers them (like some archangel or more important demon)? I need some anxiety in my life.
Headcanons Angel
📻 Alastor x angel!Reader🎙
In all your years of life, you have seen a huge number of very different people. Being an angel, you often wandered among people, watching their lives. That's how you met Alastor. You quickly realized that he would never go to heaven, but what he did fascinated you. There was something about his cruelty that attracted you. That's why you took a chance and, assuming human form, got to know him
Alastor was an interesting conversationalist and the fact that you knew that he was a murderer did not spoil your impression of him. You fell in love with him. You understood that this was unacceptable for an angel, but you couldn't do anything about your feelings. Even when you revealed that he was killing people, you didn't condemn him and swore to keep his secret. You have become a frequent witness to the murders committed by him. The fact that you found out his secret brought you very close and led to your romantic relationship that you hid from other angels
Despite your love for Alastor, you couldn't protect him from everything. He died and his soul, as you expected, went to hell. For months you've been looking for a way to meet him again. During your search, you met a demon who helped you go to hell. You hid your true identity from all the inhabitants of hell, but you could not take human form. However, finding Alastor turned out to be much easier than you expected. He became famous in hell for his cruelty
Alastor wasn't too surprised to find out that you were an angel, but he was glad that you followed him to hell. He missed you and didn't want to let you go again. You doubted that you could remain an angel. You understood that if someone found out about your relationship with Alastor, you would be cast into hell, but you were ready to become a demon if it meant that you would spend the rest of eternity with him
🃏Husk x angel!Reader 🥃
Gambling was banned in Heaven, but it was always interesting for you to watch how people play different card games. That's why you decided to go to a place where gambling was everywhere, namely Hell. You were forced to hide your identity a lot, which was helped by one of the demon princes. You didn't know exactly why the demon prince would hide your presence in Hell from others, but you decided to take this chance
You found a casino where you met Husk. You watched his card game with interest and you decided to talk to him. He was rude and uncommunicative, but you were persistent enough and quickly realized about his addiction to alcohol. Husk was expecting a trick when you brought him a drink with a friendly smile and asked him to tell you about his passion for gambling. Husk was surprised by your request but he didn't see any reason not to tell you a little about card games
You and Husk began to communicate often. You spent almost all your free time in his casino, only occasionally understanding Hell so that other angels wouldn't suspect something was wrong. However, the closer you and Husk got, the less often you left his casino. You started dating after his confession made on emotions after winning poker. Husk didn't care that you were an angel. You were his angel that he fell in love with
Despite the fact that you carefully concealed your relationship so that other angels would not find out about it, you understood that without the help of the demon prince, your secret had long been revealed. You constantly felt like you were walking on the edge of a knife. You were waiting for the prince to tell you what he wants from you or that the angels would find out that you visit Hell and are in a relationship with Husk. Only next to him did you forget about the threat hanging over you. You didn't know what was waiting for you in the near future, but you hoped that you would be able to stay with Husk as long as possible
💣 Cherri Bomb x angel!Reader 🍒
As an angel, you often went to the human world to help people get on the right path. Many people ignored you, but among the humans there was one who wanted to talk to you. She was a young girl with a rather audacious character. She began to meet you quite often and, not knowing about your true nature, she tried to liberate you, showing that there are a lot of interesting things in life. However, the main thing you learned was love. You fell in love with her. Next to her, you felt really happy. However, your happiness didn't last long. Your beloved died and her soul went to Hell
You couldn't get rid of your feelings for her, so you decided to take a desperate step. You went to Hell to find her. You understood that it could be risky for you, so you had to ask for help from one of the high-born demons. You understood that if someone found out about it, you would be punished with the harshest possible punishment, but you could not do otherwise. You spent a lot of time to find her and found out that in Hell she calls herself Cherri Bomb. When you met again, she was surprised to see you, but her surprise quickly turned to delight. She was happy that you were together again
You were forced to tell her that you're an angel, but she wasn't put off by it. She liked to watch you look away from a lot of things in Hell in embarrassment. She was showing you her new life in which she had no more restrictions. She has enjoyed every day of her new life and your appearance has only made her cling to today even more
You both didn't know how long you could stay together, so you appreciated every moment spent together. Sometimes you even wanted other angels to find out about your relationship with Cherri and then you could be thrown into Hell as punishment. However, while you were together, you were not afraid of any punishment
🐺 Loona x angel!Reader📱
You and Loona met when she, along with Blitzø, Millie and Moxxie, went to the human world because of work. You were in the same place at the same time. You tried to stay away so as not to get involved in the conflict, but Loona noticed you and thought that you were spying on them. You had to convince her for a long time that you had no such intention and that all you wanted was to avoid conflict. Loona wasn't sure that you could be trusted, but she let you go, even though her image was firmly fixed in your memory
You quickly realized that you had fallen in love with Loona and that you would not be able to get rid of your feelings. You were an angel and you couldn't afford to feel that way about hellhound, but you couldn't give up on your feelings. That's why you went to Hell to meet her again. You understood that your presence could be found out, so you had to turn to Stolas for help. You turned to him because you knew that he was in a strange relationship with Loona's stepfather in your opinion. He agreed to help you hide your presence in Hell if in return you would sometimes do his little errands. You knew it could end badly, but you were willing to take the risk
When you came to get a job at I.M.P. Loona was very surprised. Blitzø didn't see anything wrong with you working with them and, doubting your combat skills, decided that you would work together with Loona in the office. You didn't see anything wrong with that. You had a lot of time to chat. You treated her with care and understanding, which greatly surprised her. Loona has been waiting for a trick for a long time, but eventually she came to terms with the fact that there is a caring angel next to her who looks at her with a loving look
Loona perfectly saw your feelings for her. Her feelings for you began to get stronger thanks to your care and tenderness, even though Loona understood that it would be difficult for you to meet. You were from completely different worlds and your relationship would be constantly under threat, but Loona was ready for it. You went to Hell for her and she understood that you were ready to sacrifice your essence for her, so she was ready to take the same risk so that you could be together
🐍Striker x angel!Reader👢
In Hell, weapons that were made in heaven and used to kill demons often appeared. However, some of these weapons were provided directly from Heaven. You were the one who sold these weapons in hell for a lot of money. Initially, you were supposed to just leave caches of weapons, but you decided that nothing bad would happen if you got your own benefit from it. It was thanks to your business that you met Striker
Striker was surprised that he met a real angel in hell, but decided that this acquaintance would be useful to him. He often stayed with you and talked to you on a variety of topics. With each of your conversations, mutual interest and sympathy was born between you. After a couple of months of dating, you started dating, although you understood that if one of the angels found out about it, you would not be able to avoid trouble
When you came for a new batch of weapons, one of the archangels called you to talk. You understood that the reason for this was your machinations with weapons, but the archangel raised the topic of your relationship with Striker. You couldn't lie to your superiors, but to your surprise, the archangel didn't get angry. On the contrary, you were ordered to continue to supply him with weapons and monitor him, because he was useful to the archangels, only with this condition did your boss agree to hide your relationship with imp
You knew that you were in a desperate situation. You were forced to follow the orders of the archangel to keep you and Striker safe. You understood that you would not be able to get out of the trap you fell into so easily, but as long as your superiors fulfilled their part of your deal, you were ready to continue to supply weapons and hope that Striker would not suffer
🕶 Agent One x angel!Reader🕴
Initially, angels were not supposed to interfere in the affairs of people. You could only watch them. Those who violated this rule were severely punished, but when you saw that the person you had been watching for a long time was in danger, you could not stay away. You protected him and healed his wounds. You understood that you were going to be punished, but for all the time that you watched him, you fell in love with him and could not let him die
As you expected, you were forced to appear before the court of the archangels. You assumed that you would be punished, but when you heard that the person you were in love with was the one who investigated paranormal cases, one of the archangels suggested using this to get rid of such a problem as demons. You didn't want your feelings to be used for selfish purposes by others, but it was the only option so that you could remain an angel
You were forced to appear before Agent One in your human form. You were forced to lie to him that you had been studying demons for years and wanted to help him. After long conversations during which he tried to find out if you were lying, he still believed you. You asked him not to tell his colleagues about you. You began to spend almost all the time in his apartment telling about demons what you knew yourself and what you learned from your superiors
After a few weeks, you didn't care at all about what the archangels were planning, because Agent One kissed you. Your feelings, which you tried to put an end to, turned out to be mutual. You were ready to give up all your responsibilities and devote yourself to your beloved. You were ready to protect him not only from demons but also from angels, if there was such a need, but you were no longer able to leave him

David Tennant, Michael Sheen had a hell of a good time making Good Omens season 2
n Good Omens season 1, Aziraphale and Crowley saved the world. Now, they might just have to save each other.
David Tennant and Michael Sheen return for a second season of the hit comedy, premiering July 28 on Prime Video. Originally, the show was only intended as a six-episode miniseries, adapted from Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's beloved 1990 novel. But before Pratchett's death in 2015, the two authors had brainstormed ideas for a potential follow-up — ideas that Gaiman later adapted into Good Omens season 2.
Speaking to EW before the start of the SAG-AFTRA strike, Tennant and Sheen opened up about reprising their roles as everyone's favorite grumpy demon and fussy angel. Originally, both actors assumed the series would be one and done. But they became fast friends on set, and in between shots, they would chat with Gaiman about ideas for a potential season 2. Little by little, Tennant says, the second season "crept into existence."
"Neil would often tell stories of how him and Terry had dreamed of a sequel, and there were some ideas they kicked around that they never got to explore," Tennant, 52, tells EW. "But there was no sense initially that would actually bear fruit."
"They even had a name for the sequel that never got written," Sheen, 54, adds. "It always used to make me laugh so much because the name they had come up with was 668: The Neighbor of the Beast."
Now, that second season is becoming a reality, once again centering on Aziraphale (Sheen) and Crowley (Tennant) as they find themselves in the middle of a celestial crisis. (Last time, they teamed up to help prevent the apocalypse. This time, they find themselves in the middle of an angelic mystery.) Season 1 took a deep dive into the pair's unlikely, millennia-spanning relationship, stretching from the Garden of Eden to Shakespearean England. Tennant and Sheen say that season 2 will go even deeper.
"That was one of the most exciting things, being able to explore that relationship," Sheen says. "It's the most simple relationship — and also the most complicated. On the simple side, they're two beings who love each other. On the complicated side, they're about as opposite as possible. So, there are all these obstacles to their relationship, both without and within."
Season 2 also sees the return of Jon Hamm's glowering archangel Gabriel — who appears suddenly at Aziraphale's bookshop, having entirely lost his memory. The Mad Men star gets to show off his comedic chops as the amnesiac Gabriel, puttering around the bookshop and smiling blankly. "He sort of became famous as this matinee idol, but I always think that Jon is naturally a clown," Tennant says of his costar. "He's a very funny, witty man, and he's got that comic sensibility."
"He's such an aficionado of not just American comedy, but British comedy as well," Sheen adds. "He knows the most obscure British comedy things. It's always ironic that the character that he became best known for and that brought him into the public eye was this very serious character, when everyone who knows him knows how funny he is."
Tennant and Sheen say perhaps the biggest surprise has been how fans have embraced their versions of Crowley and Aziraphale. Tennant notes that Pratchett and Gaiman's book has been "beloved for decades," and while filming the first season, he felt "terror that we would break it." But about six months after the show premiered, he attended a fan convention, where he started to notice a heavenly trend.
"I've been to Comic-Cons over the years, and I often meet people dressed up as a character I played on the BBC — and I still do," Tennant explains. "But increasingly, I was meeting people dressed up as Crowley and Aziraphale. And one of the loveliest things is that you always meet pairs. You don't really meet someone dressed as an Aziraphale, or somebody dressed as a Crowley. You meet an Aziraphale and Crowley. They always seem to come in twos."
"You started to see people reacting to it online, and people starting to respond with their own artwork and their own fan fiction, and you saw it all starting to blossom and grow," Sheen marvels. "I'd never experienced anything like that before. David, of course, had gone through the whole Doctor Who experience, but it really blew me away."
Season 2 relocated filming to Bathgate, Scotland — about a mile from the hospital Tennant was born in, he notes with a laugh. The new cast includes Quelin Sepulveda as a newbie angel named Muriel, Maggie Service as a local record shop owner, and Nina Sosanya as the proprietor of a local coffee shop. But Aziraphale and Crowley are the season's emotional heart, and much of the series will focus on their friendship — or might it be something more?
Returning for a second season also meant that Tennant and Sheen had to slip back into their otherworldly guises. Sheen was thrilled to be back in Aziraphale's bookshop, but how did Tennant feel about donning Crowley's contact lenses and wigs again?
"It's rarely a wig!" Tennant says with mock indignancy. "I mean, that's my hair a lot of the time! Obviously when it gets a bit longer, there are bits added in. But there was a lot of bleaching and dyeing going on before we started shooting. That was probably when I knew there was no going back, when I got the flame-red hair put back on my skull."

Kim Hongjoong : Angels And Demons
Pairing : Kim Hongjoong (Ateez) and named character (Helena Ford)
______________
A/n : suddenly got some inspiration??
_______________
Tumblr media
Helena looked down at the families that were laughing at each other's jokes and eating food from their picnic baskets, clearly in their own worlds. They were all supernatural creatures, warriors, who hunt down demons and killed them, protecting the humans who knew nothing about demons and other supernatural beings. But even they had families, even they had people who loved them. People of their own kind.
While helena didn't. but that, she supposed, she could give to the fact that she was Lucifer's daughter. The fallen archangel people were usually afraid of. She wasn't supposed to be walking on Earth, let alone stare at a bunch of familes that were comprised of people who were born to kill people like her. Maybe not her, but demons that usually worked under the commands of other higher demons like helena, and her father.
Helena's ears perked up as she realized someone was climbing up the hill she was standing on right now, a someone she needed to avoid. But before she could so much as turn around, the someone was already standing right in front of her, his brown curious eyes staring into her violet ones.
??? : you have purple eyes.
Helena : violet.
??? : isn't that exactly what I said?
Helena : violet is a true color, part of the natural spectrum of light. Purple isn't.
??? : so, what, you're a light-enthusiast who can see people you aren't really supposed to even know about?
Oh, right. The Families, bore marks on their bodies that differentiated them from other humans, so these warriors were usually unseen by normal humans. And helena bore none of those Marks. Once again, because she was Lucifer's daughter and descended straight from Hell. So of course, the someone would certainly assume she wasn't one of the supernatural.
Helena : I'm not a normal human.
??? : you mean you're not a mundane.
Helena : yes. So scurry about and just have fun with your little picnics, warrior.
??? : you make me sound less like a warrior and more like a little rat, miss. What is your name, by the way?
Helena : you need not know.
??? : let's strike a deal then. You tell me your name, and I tell you mine.
Helena : I never wanted to know your-
??? : Kim Hongjoong. Now tell me yours.
Helena : oh. So you're the son of the infamous Kim Family, then.
Hongjoong : infamous? We're famous for good reasons, just as I am.
Except in hell they weren't. If they were known for good reasons on Earth and among angels, then they would definitely be considered infamous in hell. Except hongjoong wasn't supposed to know that.
Hongjoong : I thought you'd recognize me just by seeing me, but apparently not. Are you not from here?
Of course he would expect helena to know him. He was hongjoong, he was known to have slain a demon ranked just right below the higher ones at the mere age of 20, which had been 4 years ago. Everyone in hell and heaven knew him.
Helena : my name is Helena.
The Families knew lucifer's daughter, they knew lucifer had had a half-demon, half-warrior, half-faerie daughter with a lady residing on Earth. Except the families knew her as Normani, the one who bore the Necrosword, not Helena.
Hongjoong : helena what?
Oh, shit. She had to make up a last name. not hard.
Helena : ford. Helena Ford.
Hongjoong blinked his eyes in confusion, one that helena had expected.
Hongjoong : you're a descendant of…Maria Ford?
No, she was her daughter.
Helena : Maria was only one of the 5 other children of Henry Ford. And we do not accept her as family anymore. She is long dead.
Hongjoong : aren't you supposed to be in Italy, then? What are you doing in Korea?
Helena : I escaped from my family.
Helena supposed that was half-true.
Hongjoong : and crossed an entire continent by yourself?
She portal-ed herself here.
Helena : always this curious?
Hongjoong : yes, if you noticed.
??? : KIM HONGJOONG!
Hongjoong's eyes widened as he realized his bestfriend was screaming for him, a bestfriend who would probably tell the entire world about this strange lady in front of him. And so he turned to helena, saying quickly
Hongjoong : stay…right here or hide behind that tree. I'll be back within a few minutes.
Hongjoong didn't wait to hear what helena had to say and ran down the hill, rushing towards his bestfriend with a convincing smile on his face.
Hongjoong : Hi! So…where was I? ah yes, the girls being all over me the other day-
Seonghwa : joong, where the hell were you?
Hongjoong : what, can a man not do his things in private?
Seonghwa : ugh, joong-ah! There's…bathrooms.
Hongjoong : it's 1910, the bathrooms are not yet developed to handle me yet.
Seonghwa made a disgusted face and was about to say something when hongjoong chuckled and led him forward hastily, hoping he wouldn't notice hongjoong's lies. Because he needed to go back to the lady up the hill.
Except when he did go back to find her, she was nowhere to be found. But hongjoong had not seen anyone creep down the hill at any time within the hour. So if not by climbing down the hill, how the hell did she get out of there?

A week later :
Hongjoong had just stepped out of his room for a midnight snack when seonghwa rushed right into him. Something was wrong.
Hongjoong : okay hwa, what the hell.
Seonghwa : oh god, you're awake. There's been a demon attack.
Hongjoong wasn't on night duty today. And so he yawned, rubbing his eye as he said
Hongjoong : there's demon attacks every day, what's so special today?
Seonghwa : this one's happening at the graveyard.
Hongjoong's eyes slightly widened as he looked at seonghwa in confusion
Hongjoong : wait, our graveyard? The one where-
Seonghwa : our ancestors are buried yes, hongjoong please. Come along with me, right now.
Hongjoong nodded as the both of them walked towards the meeting room in the Institute, which was where hongjoong and his parents lived. It was the center for all the Families living in Korea. And the Kim's were it's heads, which was why they ran and resided in the Institute.
Seonghwa opened the door to the meeting room as the both of them entered, the discussions that were going on between the other people in the room immediately ceasing at the sight of seonghwa and hongjoong.
San : finally, you're here. Couldn't you get up a bit earlier when the emergency alarm rang, hongjoong?
Hongjoong : I needed my beauty sleep-
Seonghwa : can we not joke and get into the matter?
San sighed and nodded, walking over to the table as seonghwa gave hongjoong the look that he already knew well by now. Hongjoong and seonghwa were warrior partners, they were two people who balanced each other out completely. Both in battle, and in real life. Hongjoong was the sarcastic one, always getting himself in trouble. And seonghwa was the more serious one, who bailed hongjoong out of trouble. The classic.
San : this demon attack, we do not know why it's happening right now, like this. Especially in the graveyard, because it's supposed to be protected from demons. Warded against it.
Yeosang : there have been no casualties as of now, as the mundanes haven't really woken up yet-
Hongjoong : yes it's only 3am, give them a break, yeosang-ah.
Seonghwa : hongjoong.
Hongjoong threw his hands up in the air, letting out a breath before sitting back on a chair.
Seonghwa : we need to understand why this is happening. Hongjoong and I will go.
Hongjoong : and what ever of my consent?
Seonghwa : you're my partner, if I agree, you do too. Do we have a warrant, then?
Seonghwa looked at the others in the room, waiting for approval. The people in the room nodded, making san sigh as he stamped the seal of consent onto a piece of paper before handing it to seonghwa. Hongjoong sighed, getting up from his seat as he said, sarcasm lacing his tone
Hongjoong : well then, partner, shall we slay some demons to start the day off on a bright note?

Hongjoong : seonghwa! Throw me my axe, will you?
Seonghwa slashed his blade across a demon and threw the axe that had been earlier stuck on a tree trunk back to hongjoong, making him catch it as he buried it right onto another demon's chest. It stepped away from hongjoong, spasming before vanishing into plain air.
Hongjoong : did those bastards send us on a death mission?
Seonghwa chuckled before kicking a demon away from him, turning to face another one as he said
Seonghwa : don't flatter them like that, joong. We both know they all want you dead so they could acquire the power you would get from your parents once of age.
Hongjoong : you're the one who proposed this bullshit of an idea, hwa!
Hongjoong threw his axe at a demon that was right behind seonghwa before sliding up to it, taking a hold of his axe before pulling it away from the dead demon's body.
Seonghwa : I want them to know you're not going to die so easily.
Hongjoong : well! Now I think you're going to prove them just right. We're bloody outnumbered.
Seonghwa : you're literally the slayer of Basilius. Stop talking nonsense.
Hongjoong : Basilius was killed one-on-one! I didn't have to kill an entire graveyard of demons while fighting him.
Seonghwa : you did have to kill a graveyard of them before fighting Basilius anyway.
Hongjoong groaned as he killed yet another demon, it's ichor falling right onto his gear.
Hongjoong : it was a garden.
Seonghwa chuckled, using his mini blade to slash through the neck of a demon. But what he didn't realize was that hongjoong was stepping farther away from him after each kill of his, unknowingly. There were too many demons for either of them to notice.
And when hongjoong finally had noticed, seonghwa was nowhere to be seen. Instead hongjoong was now fighting a few other demons in the forest right next to the graveyard, the Mark that allowed him to see clearly in the dark coming to his advantage. But it wasn't for long, because soon enough hongjoong had tripped over a stone on the floor, falling on the floor as his axe fell away from him. Hongjoong reached for his weapons belt, hoping to take out a blade. But there were too many demons near to him, there was no way he could do any of that in time.
Before he could process things, three arrows flew straight past him, each arrow thrusting into the chest of three demons that were right in front of hongjoong. Hongjoong looked behind him with widened eyes as it landed on a figure of lady that was now running at a fast pace towards hongjoong, all while shooting arrows straight at the demons. Damn, she had good aim.
She threw her bow away as she had exhausted her arrows, leaning down and picking up hongjoong's axe before starting to fight the nearby demons with it. And she was swift in her moves, faster than any other warrior hongjoong had seen, and killed all the demons near to him within seconds.
The lady turned around as she threw the axe back at hongjoong, her face finally coming into hongjoong's sight.
Hongjoong : helena.
Hongjoong caught his axe from the air, flipping himself over as he slashed a demon right across it's waist, making it vanish. And soon they were both fighting together, killing demons quicker than ever. At least, helena was. Hongjoong was half killing the demons, half awing at how good helena was at fighting. She was definitely a Ford, it was evident in her moves.
But soon enough, hongjoong noticed in shock, the demons were retreating away from them, away from helena.
Hongjoong : what-
Hongjoong cut himself off as a mini blade flew right through his side, crashing into the arm of a demon right behind him as it died with the blade. The ichor splashed against hongjoong's cheek, making him stare at helena as she said
Helena : focus, warrior.
Hongjoong let out a breath and pulled a demon away from helena, kicking it away before stabbing his axe right into his chest. And that was the last of them, the rest of the demons had just vanished, back to where it came from.
Hongjoong breathed heavily as he stared at helena, who was now wiping the ichor away from her blade nonchalantly.
Hongjoong : who are you.
Helena : do you people have short-term memory loss? I told you-
Helena cut herself off as hongjoong walked up to her, taking his axe before slicing through helena's arm. Helena frowned, looking at hongjoong with furious eyes.
Helena : how dare you-
Hongjoong : I thought so.
Helena stared at hongjoong who was watching the earlier cut on her arm fade away in amusement, the skin repairing itself.
Helena : what are you doing?
Hongjoong : you're not from here at all, are you-
Helena : I am a Ford, I told you. We have special powers.
Hongjoong : what, Lucifer gave all members of your blood the power to heal from any cut almost instantly?
Again, helena supposed that was half true. Lucifer did give helena the power to heal from her cuts almost instantly. The Fords did not really have it. But how would hongjoong know?
Helena : yes, after he took Maria Ford as his wife.
Hongjoong stared at helena in half-scrutiny, contemplating on whether to trust this lady. But she had saved his life after all, hadn't she?
Hongjoong : fine, then so be it. But that does not excuse the fact that you ran away from me. From the hill, that day-
Seonghwa : yah! You betrayer!
Hongjoong shut his eyes tightly as he turned to face seonghwa who was now walking towards hongjoong, a cut on his arm and another on his temple.
Seonghwa : those creatures literally vanishe-
Seonghwa cut himself off as his eyes landed on helena, who just stared at seonghwa. Hongjoong walked towards seonghwa, inspecting his best friend's cuts with worried eyes. The warriors did have something like what helena had, they healed from their cuts too. Although not instantly, it took them a day at maximum. A few minutes being the minimum.
Hongjoong : these will heal soon. Thank god.
Seonghwa : joong, who is she?
Hongjoong : oh! Meet Helena Ford, from the family who holds powers that allow them to heal their cuts almost instantly.
Seonghwa eyed helena with suspicion as he asked
Seonghwa : the Fords can heal their own cuts like that?
Helena : have you met any Ford?
Seonghwa : no.
Helena : then don't ask stupid questions.
Seonghwa : I don't like you.
Helena : lucky for us, I don't like you either.
Seonghwa : I-
Hongjoong : okay! Don't be toddlers now.
Helena : I am not a toddler.
Hongjoong : then don't act like one, simple enough.
Helena opened her mouth to say something but was cut off as hongjoong tapped seonghwa's arm and said
Hongjoong : let's go back to the institute.
Seonghwa : but hongjoong, those demons, they retreated-
Hongjoong : we'll talk about those once we reach the institute, alright? It's dark outside and there can be other dangers. Let's go back.
Seonghwa sighed and nodded, giving helena one last look before turning back to go to their carriage. Hongjoong turned to face helena, her purple…violet eyes almost glowing in the dark. She wasn't normal, hongjoong knew that.
Hongjoong : come with us?
Helena : you literally cut through my arm, you expect me to trust you now?
Hongjoong looked away and walked towards helena, lifting the blade that was still held tight in her hand before slicing his own arm with it, making helena stare as blood dripped down his arm.
Hongjoong : equal now?
Helena : so you're sick in the brain.
Hongjoong : I'm a warrior, an eye for an eye, is how it works for us.
Hongjoong turned around and walked towards the same direction seonghwa had walked through, his axe dangling loosely in his hand as he said in a sing-song manner
Hongjoong : come with me, little demon. I hear the Fords love a good tea.

Headcanon: the angel who became Crowley.
Crowley, this guy is kind of...well, VERY important. Like, he had a hand in the creation of the world, which is supposed to be God's own feat, and when he became a demon he tempted Eve as a serpent, which is mostly attributed to Satan himself.
What a guy.
I know, a show needs to be dramatic about the characters, but Azi didn't get all the glorious deeds. Crowley did.
It was widely believed that Crowley used to be Raphael, but Neil Gaiman made it clear that was not true in an FAQ. Also, Raphael never fell from heaven. Doesn't make sense he becomes a demon. I know GO is creative about what the characters do or who/what they are, but at least until now, it sticks tightly with the real-world canon (whatever that is) about who is an angel and who is a demon. I personally think either archangel Raphael will show up later in S3, or simply because Azi's name is derived from this one so they avoided it.
Another theory is that he is Gadreel, who, as described in The Book of Enoch, "led Eve astray". Considering Gadreel is also one of the five satans or five lesser satans (satan being a title rather than a specific entity), it sounds promising. The only problem I have with this theory is that he is not that important as an angel. Like, he was not mentioned being an archangel but merely one of the Watchers, and the reason he fell was having sex with human women, which, of course, can be ignored for the purpose of creativity; but still, not a very famous angel.
Essentially, nobody has heard of him. From the perspective of a scriptwriter: if the identity of Angel Crowly is to be revealed, it's better to give him a name more known to the audience than just make him a random dude buried in the mountain of apocalyptic literature.
(If you want to be all nerdy about it, the "led Eve astray" doesn't even make sense, since it was sandwiched between all the other things Gadreel did: teaching humans "all the blows of death" and showing humans all kinds of weapons and war stuff, etc. By its contextual logic, if "led Eve astray" shows up as the first deed/crime of his, then it is likely to refer to the temptation in Eden; but in its current context, it sounds to me like he taught Eve something about killing or death or something to that nature.)
Anyway, I don't think Gadreel is the answer. Of course, I am not against this interpretation--I'm not against any headcanon and/or ideas about his identity; I just personally don't find it satisfying.
For me, the question is as simple as "Who has appeared in various texts and lore as both an archangel and has fallen to become an archdemon?" (Other than Lucifer/Satan himself.)
The first one that came to my mind? Samael.
And yes, in some lore he assumed the form of the snake and tempted Adam and Even--it was also he planted the Tree of Knowledge before his fall, which sounds close enough to say he participated in the creation of the world itself.
Sometimes Samael is identified as Satan, or at least largely functions as Satan, the accuser, the adversary. He leads the fallen angels, goes about to attempt humans, and creates demon children with Lilith.
On the other hand, in a lot of ancient literature, he is depicted as an archangel who rules over a significant portion of God's realms, sometimes even one of the Seven Archangels of God. Even nowadays you can still find Archangel Samiel (a variation of his name) shown in a few churches.
The significant role Samael plays as both a demon and an angel, as well as his duality presented in various traditions and literature, convinces me that he could be a good candidate for Crowley's hidden identity. Of course, Samael's fame as the "angel of death" doesn't fit Crowley, but, well, it's GO we are talking about. Gotta take some liberty.
I wish there was a fallen angel with a proper angel name--all the fallen angels have names that appear to be against God, indicating that their names might have been changed after the fall. It's really hard to find one. But I think Samael can pass this one: his name means "venom of God", kind of indicating he is not really a bad guy but just serving God in his own way, which is believed true in some traditions. (And, in the book of Job, Satan is not an enemy but the accuser who got God's permission. In GO it was Crowley who messed with Job--he is essentially doing all the Satan things.) Also, since even the churches are alright with archangel Samiel, I don't have anything to complain.
Btw, Gadreel passes this one too. His name means "wall of God", even better.
I also like the idea to use some characters like Raphael, an archangel who's never fallen, to emphasize his glorious past and to avoid a hidden demon identity (which is tricky but can be explained as he got beef with Hell and didn't want to be seen as the prominent demon anymore so he just uses an alias). I just have a hard time finding a fitting character like that and somehow Raphael doesn't feel right (also rejected by Gaiman himself, but that's only secondary).
Samael is the closest I can get. I am curious to see his angelic identity revealed in S3, if it's ever going to be.
PS: I was wondering why they didn't give Azi a typical angel name, something ends with "el", meaning God. I thought it was indicating that he is not within the high-rank angels or he is going to fall or something in S3, but in the FAQ it seems...that's just a random decision? Well, I know I'm always looking into these things too seriously lol

“You brought me to a fucking bar?”
Childe lets out a sigh at that statement, assuming it’s because of the effects of the teleportation affecting the angel.  Although, if he knew that it wasn’t actually affecting Scaramouche at all, he may be a lot less understanding.  “Trust me, okay?”
Scaramouche stares at him as if wheels are turning in his head before he just shakes it, brushing off every warning sign blaring.  “Alright, take me to Albedo.”
“That’s the plan!” Childe says with a grin, holding the door open for Scaramouche in the process. “You should be able to see him.”
The angel pauses, staring at Childe as if he had brown two heads.  “Should?”
“Depends if the witch in charge of him lets us talk to him.” Childe mutters before forcing an overconfident smile.  “Oh, and this bar caters mostly to the supernatural, so go ahead and speak freely if you want to.  Kaeya!” He yells out, waving at a man at the bar.
Kaeya is a fairly tall man, with dark long hair.  His appearance is odd for a human.  Yes, he could be considered fairly attractive by human standards, but he wears an odd eyepatch.  By witch standards, he is also peculiar.  His aura tells Scaramouche that he is strong, but it feels ancient somehow.  And, based on the fact that he looks around Diluc’s age, he highly doubts that Kaeya is old enough to exude that kind of power.
“Childe, it’s early for you to pop in,” Kaeya says, taking a sip from his glass.  “What’s the celebration?”
“I need to talk to your demon,” Scaramouche says at once.  Every second wasted is time that can be used for his own advantage.  Although, he does realize that he could’ve been a tad bit nicer, so he decides to add, “please” after his original statement.
But Kaeya just stares at him for a moment, as if just realizing that Scaramouche was standing there.  But a visible light bulb brings a newfound twinkle in his eye as he grins.  “You’re the angel I’m assuming?”
“Am I famous now or something?”
“Quite,” Kaeya narrows his eye, looking over Scaramouche so closely that it makes him uncomfortable.  “It’s not every day the heavens casts one of their own out.  Not to mention, you already made waves just due to your status.”
Scaramouche finally sits down, staring at Kaeya intently.  “What do you mean?”
“An archangel creating a new being is strange as it is, but one that’s such a low rank?  Now that’s unheard of, especially if it’s Baal.  Think of it, one of the most powerful angels existing in this moment creating one of the weakest…” Kaeya trails off, chuckling to himself.  “It’s hilarious really.”
“Well aren’t you lovely…” Scaramouche mutters, already disliking the man.
“I really do try,” Kaeya says, leaning back so that he can stare at the ceiling.  “Don’t you think it’s dangerous?  If you’re here for what I think you’re here for, I’m afraid that
you wouldn’t be able to defeat Pantalone by yourself, especially if Dottore’s with him.”
“I’m plenty strong.”
Kaeya snorts, not even looking at Scaramouche.  “The only way for you to possibly defeat him is to make his job harder for him.  He’s terribly lazy when he needs to be.  If you’re not interesting, he’ll just not wish to engage anymore.  But I’m afraid you’re far too interesting for that.”
“What if I hurt Dottore?”
Kaeya finally graces Scaramouche by looking at him again, an evil glint in his only visible eye.  “That could work.”
“Great,” Scaramouche says at once, putting his hands on the counter.  “I need Albedo to find them.”
“Yeah…I don’t know,” Kaeya says in a grating voice.  “Albedo is very dear to me, I wouldn’t want him to cross anyone and get hurt.”
Childe clears his throat, finally saying something since the conversation has started.  “I can convince your brother to meet with you…if you let Albedo help him.”
“You really think Diluc would even show?”
“If I didn’t tell him who he's meeting, he would.”
Scaramouche looks between the two, the puzzle pieces finally coming together.  He had heard Childe talk about Diluc’s brother before, but he never thought he’d actually meet him.  Kaeya stares at Childe, as if waiting for the demon to flinch, before groaning.  “Albedo!”
In an instant, another being appears.  Shadows merge together, twisting into a gruesome sight before revealing a rather short male.  He has blond hair pulled up, obviously to keep it out of his face.  He turns to Kaeya, a bored expression on his face, seemingly waiting for what the witch is going to say.
“Can you help me whip up a tracking spell?”
“It shouldn’t be too difficult.”
Albedo sighs, extending his hand out to Kaeya.  The witch grins, reaching into his coat pocket and pulling out a small bottle.  It pulsates a deep purple, glowing in a way that Scaramouche never even thought was possible.  When Albedo pours it onto a napkin on the counter, it softly falls.  Actually, the contents of the vial were not liquid, instead being far closer to gas.
Albedo reaches to the gas, the purple fog twisting around his hand as if welcoming him.  His hand flexes, extending out before he begins circling it.  The gas swirls rapidly, decreasing in width in seconds.  As the swirl becomes tighter, Albedo raises his hand, touching the top of the swirl he has created.  Steadily, he lowers his hand, pressing it onto the napkin.  He closes his eyes for one moment, the purple fog disappearing in an instant.
When he finally lifts his hand, the napkin is revealed.  In purple writing, numbers are scrawled out in flowy writing.  Albedo gains a small smile, clearly proud of his handiwork.  The demon looks at Scaramouche for a moment before silently handing over the napkin, clearly upholding his end to the bargain.
“What am I supposed to do with this?”
Albedo stares at him for a moment, face fairly neutral.  “Those are coordinates.  What, did you expect me to give you a whole picture on where to go?  Grab a magical orb and show you a vision of where your human is?  That’s not how my magic works.”
Scaramouche finds his eye twitching at such words.  Sure, he is fully aware that there are limits to what someone can do, but a random string of numbers isn’t going to help him.  “How do I figure out where these coordinates go?”
“Well, I could send you there myself,” Kaeya says, sipping on whatever alcoholic drink he has in his hand.  “But I’m afraid our current deal isn’t going to cut it.”
Childe sends a glare toward his friend before letting out a sigh.  “What do you want?”
“I want a guaranteed conversation with Diluc.  No him walking through the door and then immediately leaving.  I want him to actually sit down and talk to me.”
Childe forces a smile.  “I can make that work.”
“Then I can do the spell,” Kaeya says before extending out his hand, Albedo then placing a small piece of chalk in it.  “Alright assholes, I need these tables moved!”
The surrounding customers, mostly witches, don’t even complain.  If Scaramouche knew any better, he would assume this is an average experience at this bar.  Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise him.
And, for a man who looks like he spends his entire time sprawled across a bar counter, Kaeya is pretty nimble on his feet.  For the first time since Scaramouche has met the asshole, which has been admittedly been a few minutes, Kaeya actually looks engaged with what he is doing.
The chalk glides across the cement floor, Kaeya drawing symbols that even Scaramouche cannot decipher.  Soon, these symbols take over a large portion of the floor, intricately drawn masterfully.  Kaeya stands, hands on his hips, clearly proud of his handiwork.  “Albedo, think you can lend me a hand?”
“Of course,” Albedo says, extending out his hand expectantly.  Kaeya stares at it for a moment with a grin, grasping the demon’s hand before pulling him closer.  He quickly kisses Albedo, backing away after only a few seconds.  Albedo just stands there, his face scrunched up.  “You taste like alcohol.”
“So?”
“You know I don’t like the taste.”
“Sorry, forgot.”
Albedo just sighs, kneeling down so that he can access the runes that Kaeya has drawn.  The witch in question is already at this level, seemingly eyeing every rune to make sure that everything is perfect.  Wordlessly, the two place their hands palmfirst on the runes, Kaeya muttering a few words in a language that Scaramouche does not have the pleasure of knowing.
Light blue light erupts from the circle first, blinding anyone who dares to look at it.  Then, yellow light follows, intertwining with the blue, yet not mixing.  Both are bright, yet neither one overtakes the other.  Slowly, the lights dim until there is nothing being emitted whatsoever, the only proof of the spell that just took place being the area where the circle was drawn being slightly…off.
The floor almost ripples, as if being made of water.  Honestly, if you didn’t know what you were looking at, you wouldn’t even notice anything different.  But Scaramouche cannot help but stare at the strange sight, not quite being used to this.
“Well!” Kaeya says, brushing off the small bit of dust on his hands when he stands.  “That went pretty well, didn’t it?”
“And it’s safe?” Scaramouche asks, eyeing the portal.  He doesn’t think the witch would try and kill him, nor does he think that Childe would introduce him to someone who would kill him, but he still cannot help but feel wary.
“More or less…” Kaeya says before noticing the horrified reaction from Scaramouche.  “Kidding.”
Scaramouche rolls his eyes at the antics, honestly not in the mood to be dealing with all of this.  “So what do I have to do?”
“Step in, Albedo and my magic will do the rest.”  Scaramouche doesn’t really want to wait any longer.  So, he stands up abruptly, heading straight toward the portal that will get him to Heizou.  However, before he can, his shoulder is grabbed, forcing him to stop in his tracks.  “Scaramouche, do know that there is a good chance that if you go in there, it might result in both you and the human dying.” Kaeya says, his expression serious.
“I know.”
Kaeya just stares at him, clearly conflicted but knowing that he can’t really do anything.  “Don’t die.”
Scaramouche grins, happy once Kaeya lets go of him.  “No promises.”
And then he steps through the portal.
He expected the trip to be odd.  He expected colors to bleed together in a way that gives him a headache.  Yet it isn’t like that at all.  One second he was staring at the bar, the next a dingy warehouse.  The setting sun casts an uncomfortable glow along the building, looking almost peaceful.  But Scaramouche knows better.
He steps forward, glancing at the ground so that he can make sure the spell is still activated.  Luckily, it is still up and running.  However, he doesn’t know exactly how long it will last so he picks up his pace.
It almost feels like the building is mocking him.  He is forced to walk by quite a few locked doors, yet every time Scaramouche tries one, he feels like it isn’t the correct one.  But perhaps that’s due to those doors being locked and that he is already discouraged.  In fact, the moment he finds an unlocked one, he almost yells out in joy, surprised at his luck.
The door opens, and he is greeted with the sight of exactly what he was searching for.  There Heizou sits, clearly unconscious, but seemingly otherwise unharmed.  Scaramouche doesn’t even think before he’s rushing toward him, ready to get the human out of this place.  He doesn’t really look around, not even noticing the liquid on the ground before he comes in contact with it.
And the moment he does, he regrets it.  Scaramouche feels his body collapse, landing face first on the cement floor as he convulses.  Thick, black veins appear on his face, moving so that they can cover every inch of his body in one way or another.  He can’t see, he can’t feel anything other than the pain, but he can hear.  He can definitely still hear.
He hears a dark chuckle coming from above him, coming from where Heizou was sitting.  And just as quick as that chuckle being produced, it’s gone, leaving Scaramouche to just groan as the pain continues to hit him at full force.  “It’s wonderful what demon blood can do.”
Scaramouche feels his blood run cold, but he can’t move.  He can’t scramble to see who is talking, not in his state at least.  He’s stuck facing the floor while simultaneously being in the worst pain he’s ever been in.  A hand grabs his chin, forcing him to stare at the perpetrator, and seeing Heizou’s face looking back at him truly is a sight.
Heizou sighs, shaking his head at Scaramouche.  And then, his features blur.  For a moment, Scaramouche questions if it is due to the sheer amount of pain he is in, but when the hair color changes, he knows that he has officially screwed up.  “I truly doubted Dottore when he said this would work.  Glad to know you angels are still fairly stupid.”
“Where’s-“
The strange man groans, dropping Scaramouche’s head so that the angel can once again just stare at the floor helplessly.  “Your human is still alive.” the man says, causing Scaramouche to perk up slightly.  “We need a few things before his sacrifice anyways.”
“Telling our scheme to everyone now?” Another person asks.  Scaramouche can’t even identify this one, only able to make out footsteps so he assumes the newcomer is walking.  “Pantalone, that’s the kind of thing some marvel villain would do.”
“Yet you’ve done it already.  Quite the hypocrite, aren’t you Dottore?”
The second person, who Scaramouche assumes is Dottore, grabs his face.  Dottore narrows his eyes, looking over the angel as if he were on display.  “He should work.” And Scaramouche’s face is dropped again.
Scaramouche’s leg twitches, his body finally able to feel again outside of the excruciating pain.  But he still can’t move, far too afraid of the pain flaring up again to a point where he will be oblivious to the world around him.
The third time he is grabbed, it’s by the wing, causing him to wince in pain.  Angel wings have far too many pain receptors for him not to feel it, even if he were in complete health, he has no doubt that it would hurt.  “And he’s right for it?” Dottore asks.
“He should be.”
“Pantalone, I swear…if this ends up being a bust because you don’t know how to help me-“
“I know how to do this, don’t doubt me.”
“I don’t want to,” Dottore says, pulling Scaramouche closer to him.  “You're our ticket to success, you know that?  After tonight, everything will be ready.  Aren’t you excited?”
“What…”
“It’s really a shame though-“
Dottore is cut off by a bullet piercing his hand, causing him to drop Scaramouche.  The man yells out in pain, but Scaramouche is unable to see much more.  Scaramouche feels someone softly holding his face before he actually is able to see them.  There Heizou stands, a little banged up, but overall physically fine.  “You shouldn’t have come.”
Scaramouche cannot help but frown at those words.
Heizou whips his head around so that he can stare down Pantalone, his hand grasping his handgun.  “Let both of us go, now.”
Pantalone tilts his head, a grin on his face.  Do you really think you’re in a spot to make demands?  I’m afraid your weapon doesn’t quite harm demons.”
“I’ll shoot your fucking witch right in between the eyes,” Heizou threatens, refusing to let go of Scaramouche.  “I’m an amazing shot so don’t think I’m bluffing.”
The demon does genuinely look thoroughly amused at Heizou, and Scaramouche doesn’t think it’s particularly a good thing.  “You can have a two minute head start while I heal up Dottore.  After that?  I’ll crush your skull myself,” Pantalone says in a smile that is not meant for the words he uttered.
Heizou doesn’t say anything, instead forcing Scaramouche to stand.  The angel winces, resulting in silent apologies from Heizou but they cannot stop moving.  Heizou begins practically dragging Scaramouche out the door, clearly determined to keep both of them alive in this situation.
“Heizou…”
“We’re getting out of here Angel, trust me.”
But Scaramouche knows that Heizou isn’t confident.  “Heizou!” Scaramouche yells, attempting to stand on his own but instead causing both of them to fall.  When they are both able to look at eachother, Scaramouche cannot help but think back to everything that has happened the last few months, smiling softly.  His expression turns grim, the situation weighing on him, as he stares at Heizou.  “There’s a portal.  Keep going this way and you’ll get there.  It leads to a bar, Childe should still be there.”
“Angel…”
“Kazuha needs you, Heizou.” Scaramouche says, already regretting his words.  He can’t lose Heizou…he can’t think of the potential of Kazuha waking up to find out both of them have died.  But if Heizou lives, at least Kazuha has someone to support him.  Both of them can move on and Scaramouche can become a distant memory.
But Heizou doesn’t seem happy, nor does he seem grateful for the obvious sacrifice.  “We need you.  Scara…they’re going to kill you.”
“They’re going to kill both of us if you help me.  I’ll slow you down…”
“Scara, I don’t want you to die,” Heizou interrupts, pulling Scaramouche closer to him.  “I can carry you, make a run for it.”
“We’d never make it in time.”
“Well then we’ll hide or something.  Fuck!” Heizou curses, letting go of Scaramouche.  “This is all my fault!”
“Heizou…” Scaramouche trails off, the hairs on the back of neck standing straight up.  “They’re coming.  You need to run.”
“And you need to live.”
Scaramouche stares at Heizou desperately, searching for something in Heizou’s expression that will tell him the human will cave.  But there is nothing.  “I have a plan.  Stay behind me, alright?”
“Will the plan work?”
“Maybe.  But if it looks like it’s going south, I need you to run.  Run as fast as you can and stay in the light.  Avoid shadows.  Don’t stop running until you get to the portal.”
Heizou visibly bites his lip, clearly not a fan of the idea, but he nods.  Both of them know they don’t have many options anyways.  But Scaramouche didn’t expect to have Heizou grab the collar of his shirt and pull him closer.  He didn’t expect to feel lips pressing onto his own.  He didn’t expect that feeling to leave him just as quickly as it came, the only thing greeting him being a determined looking Heizou.  “Don’t die.”
Scaramouche swallows some saliva, nodding nervously.  “I’ll try.”  And then, he stands.  Well, he does as best as he can anyways.  He sways, but otherwise stands tall, ready to greet the two assailants.  And when they do appear, he lets out a breath, ready for whatever is about to happen.
“I’m surprised you can even stand.  Most archangels stay out of commission for at least twenty minutes.”
“I’m not an archangel.”
“Well that much is obvious,” Pantalone says snidely.
Scaramouche attempts to glare at him, ignoring just how lightheaded he feels.  “Let us go, this night has already gone on long enough.”
Dottore cackles, grinning wickedly at Scaramouche.  The angel glances at his hand, noticing that it is completely healed.  “Don’t you get it?  We need a dead angel.  This opportunity is once in a lifetime.”
“Well, I tried,” Scaramouche says, letting out a breath.  Wordlessly, he flicks his wrist, the light coming from a nearby window now bouncing along the walls.  What once was a dim hallway is now covered in thin beams of light, with gaps far too small for either to get through.
Pantalone whistles, looking over Scaramouche’s handiwork.  “This,” he gestures toward the angelic light, “this is fairly impressive.”
“If this can harm a demon, who’s to say what it can do to a human?” Scaramouche threatens, glaring at Pantalone.
But Pantalone just grins at such a statement.  Well, he grins, and then starts laughing.  He chuckles, shaking his head at such a statement.  “You’re funny.”  But his grin melts away before he basically disappears, reappearing in front of Scaramouche, his hand around the angel’s throat.
Scaramouche claws at the hand, gasping for air, but his attempts are futile.  “This has been going on far too long already.  Do you know how much I crave being rid of this world?  After you and your human die, I get to leave this shithole and watch the chaos safe in hell where I belong.”
Scaramouche continues to gasp for air, hoping that he gets enough to actually breathe, but sincerely doubting he will be able to.
“It’s quite a shame you’re the spawn of Baal.  You had potential,” Pantalone mutters, tightening his grip around Scaramouche’s throat.  “But you were born as nothing.  It really is a shame.”
“Fuck…” Scaramouche spits out, barely even able to speak.
Pantalone leans forward, intending to whisper in his ear.  “Just die already.”
“You,” Scaramouche mutters, grabbing an item stowed away in his back pocket.  He hears the noises before actually registering what he has done.  The explosion-like sound erupting from the small item he…borrowed from Heizou without asking echoes in the hallway.  And then, he hears the gurgling.
Pantalone stares at him with his eyes widened, looking behind himself to see Dottore grasping his throat, blood coating his hands.  The demon tightens his grip, gritting his teeth at Scaramouche.  “You fucking asshole!  Why the fuck would you even try this shit?”
“Better…go…help him,” Scaramouche mutters, still struggling to breathe.  “That can be fatal.”
Pantalone looks at Scaramouche and then at Dottore, clearly going through the scenario in his head.  He groans, letting go of Scaramouche’s throat, the angel tumbling to the ground.  Heizou rushes to Scaramouche, attempting to sit between him and the two assailants.
The demon kneels toward Dottore, inspecting the wound.  He lets out a breath, sending a glare toward Scaramouche.  “I’ll be sure to break your hands next time.”
“Looking forward to it,” Scaramouche spits out, flipping off the demon.
But Pantalone says nothing, and soon, both the witch and the demon are gone in the blink of an eye.  Scaramouche can only assume it is to get Dottore healed, because the moment he dies Pantalone is screwed.
“You stole my gun.”
Scaramouche shrugs, coughing a little.  “It was the only way both of us could survive.  You didn’t run.”
“I didn’t want you to die alone.”
Scaramouche smiles, resting his head on the wall behind him.  “I’m so tired…”
“Then sleep,” Heizou says, gently moving Scaramouche’s limbs so that he can be more comfortable.  “We can wait a bit.”
“Diluc…he’s supposed to show up soon.”
“And we can wait.”
Scaramouche nods, his eyes closed.  It doesn’t take much effort to actually doze off, the events of the day catching up to him.  And soon, the reality of his life, the noises of the world, slowly fade so that Scaramouche is greeted with complete and utter bliss.
Heizou smiles when he realizes that his angel is sleeping.  So, he sits up a bit, pressing a small kiss onto his forehead before shifting so that he can rest his head on Scaramouche’s shoulder.  “Goodnight Scara.”

Something With Simeon
The mystery from season 3 continues with Simeon and the human world and I’m going over it briefly so spoilers for latest lessons and ones from 43+
I will be analyzing Simeon’s non-angelic-stereotyoe side and all reasons he could be in trouble based on evidence in the series.
The Cafe Mystery
Tumblr media
So Simeon and Luke were supposedly placed in the human world by Michael—at least that’s what the brothers were told—even though it’s not in their job as a training-angel and an archangel (former seraph)
Simeon’s Mystery Demotion
Tumblr media
After visiting the celestial realm illusion with Simeon it is noted that Simeon was a seraph once but is now an archangel which is a MUCH lower position than seraph as technically it’s only one rank above the average angel even though archangel is a famous title to hold. We still do not know why he was demoted from such a high position but it’s often said he was very different from other seraphs and more relaxed and easier to approach. His demotion happened sometime after the celestial war or perhaps during so it likely has to do with the celestial war in some way (perhaps he wouldn’t kill his friends)
Visit From Raphael
Tumblr media
At the end of season 3—the very last sequence of events—Simeon is in the cafe and gets a visit from Raphael who comments how human his brother appears. Simeon smiles but it doesn’t seem like a genuine smile.
Raphael is later revealed to be a hitman for the celestial realm which makes the interaction more suspicious.
Worrying Text
Tumblr media
Diavolo asks Lucifer to come to the castle the moment he returns to the Devildom as he’s rechecked troubling news from the celestial realm regarding Simeon specifically.
Back in the Devildom
Tumblr media
Simeon dodges directly answering every question option MC asks regarding him and the celestial realm. Clearly Simeon’s celestial realm status has changed or is hanging by a thread. Luke doesn’t appear to know or he’s be far more worried but Diavolo, Lucifer, Barbatos(assumably), Michael, Raphael, and Simeon are in the know. Solomon might also know due to knowing almost wveughung thanks to his ring of wisdom, his bond with Simeon, and his intense snooping.
Breaking the Commandments/Sinning
Theft
Tumblr media
Even though it was to save MC and/or Lucifer (a demon) he stole property from Michael the assumed leader of the celestial realm under God. When confronted with this he played it off and was even sarcastic as he saw no problem with what he did.
Although it was ethically correct there were other options and Simeon resorted to theft (it was the best option but in the eyes of angels not so much)
Jealousy
Tumblr media
Simeon is shown discreetly becoming jealous when it comes to MC and wanting to spend time with them as well as playing down how attached they are to others.
In chapter 63 Simeon repeated multiple times that what Solomon and MC had was strictly a teacher and student relationship. Even when MC has the option to say that it’s more Simeon says they’re just being polite, choosing to ignore/deny MC’s feelings.
Deception
Tumblr media
In one story he resorts to trickery to spend time alone with MC and though he apologizes to MC he lies by omission and never lets the others know what he did.
In lessons he’s also been okay with lying by stating some are okay even though this is biblically incorrect.
Affections for a Human
In the Bible it states more or less that an angel being with a human is akin to a human being with an animal. This however doesn’t stop Simeon in the slightest as he has kissed MC in the lessons, stories, and events. He has clear attachments to them and on some occasions is somewhat physical or alludes to his desires.
As an angel these things are extremely taboo. (Though in-game these things might not be taken as seriously as they would in the real world)
At the very least he is still prioritizing his emotional attachments to MC over angelic duties and his position.
Does Questionable Things For Personal Amusement
In one story (Make Solomon Cry!) he attempts to make Solomon cry for personal amusement and curiosity. Though it’s nothing malicious it’s still out of character for an angel.
“Scary”
The brothers have stated multiple times to be scared of Simeon. Even Diavolo said Simeon is the last person he wants to upset.
Simeon has shown his strict side when directing a play which seems normal for a director but he’s also stated harshly that he finds Mammon useless when Mammon failed to help him dispel a rumor about the cafe.
Tumblr media
Luke and Solomon have both had to point out to Simeon when he’s been too harsh on others as it’s a side of him that sometimes slips out.
For a human this would be normal but for an angel a strict side that sometimes is insulting or rude is not in line with angel etiquette. Although Raphael has shown to also be insulting when speaking to others his was more in line of correcting angelic behavior where as Simeon has personal interests in mind.
Emotional Detachment & Conflicted Personality
Regarding Simeon’s personality he’s shown to be very different from stereotype angels as he immediately becomes comfortable in both the Devildom and human world as he’s rather laid back.
Tumblr media
He’s fallen for MC in events, stories, and in lessons which is forbidden by angels and even once tells mc he’d be okay becoming a demon if he could be with them. This is clearly far from a typical angel.
Simeon appears to not be overly concerned with the celestial realm (at least currently) and seems to have an emotional detachment to it perhaps because of the mystery demotion or because he’s being run ragged by Michael whom he complains about to Lucifer often.
Unlike other angels Simeon also has a human world career and human world money which angels have no use for. Assumably this job—as evidenced by the TSL series—means Simeon has written some not-so-angelic things as well and distributed this content to humans which probably didn’t go over well with authorities on his part.
Simeon’s personality is contradicting on many levels to that of an average angel and it seems the other angels in high positions aren’t totally okay with this. Simeon probably knows this and doesn’t make a point to be too close to anyone.
Simeon being appointed the guardian of Luke could also be a test of character and responsibility on some level. Given Luke’s strictness for rules he could also be an unknowing spy on Simeon’s behavior and “unusual” decisions.
Simeon’s Attachment to the Brothers
While many other angels, Michael included, miss the brothers for one reason or another, Simeon seems most attached. This may not be okay with some of the higher ups.
He has the most history with them and while he was never “one of the brothers” he was still very close. The younger brothers saw him as being kind and “chill” and he often spent days with Lucifer, even napping together. They have many fond memories and Simeon is anxious to spend more time with Lucifer and reminisce of the old days.
When speaking about the current celestial realm he does not seem as happy as when he mentions any memory involving the brothers, Lucifer especially.
Despite thousands of years passing Simeon and Lucifer still have an unspoken bond and can immediately go back to old habits as seen when they more or less telepathically communicated in the card The Joy of Doing Nothing
To Summarize
Simeon is an angel who is little too carefree in the eyes of the other angels. He’s adapted well to the Devildom and human world and clearly shows to favor what the celestial realm was like when Lucifer and his brothers were still there. He went through a demotion of sorts without being kicked out, but he may be on very thin ice and based on the current mystery situation with him and the human world that ice may have broken.
All this isn’t to say Simeon is not a kind and angelic person has he definitely has that side to him this is just an Analyzation of what is not typical of angels when it comes to him as well as a deeper look at his desires and connections to each realm.

So! Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint X Hermitcraft X Evolution SMP, a crossover that absolutely no one thought would ever happen, myself included.
Spoilers for ORV under "Read More"!
First things first!
What is Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint?
It's a Korean light novel-- but not just ANY Korean light novel! It's one of the most popular webnovels in Korea, and for a good reason! It's a masterpiece of a story, with intresting characters, engaging dynamics and relationships, fascinating worldbuilding, and an action-packed plot! The main character is an ordinary office worker named Kim Dokja-- meaning either reader or only child. Kim Dokja is the last reader of a 3,000+ chapter webnovel called Three Ways to Survive a Ruined World (Ways of Survival for short), with all the other readers dropping out early on. One day, the apocalypse begins, completely out of nowhere. And what's more, the situation is the exact same as the webnovel Dokja had read, with the same setting, characters, and everything. There are these creatures called dokkaebis, creatures from Korean folklore, who are basically magical Twitch streamers. And the viewers are these godlike beings called constellations, which are individuals with stories that have been told throughout history, ranging from famous war generals to literal archangels. They watch the apocalypse through the dokkaebis' channels as a form of entertainment, and can choose to sponsor a human, giving them their powers and aid. The humans-- now known as incarnations-- have to complete scenarios like quests in a video game, both for the constellations' entertainment and for their own survival, because there will be consequences for not completing a scenario.
There's a lot more to the story than that, and I do mean a lot. Although it's not nearly as close to 3,000 chapters, it's a good over 500. I'm currently on chapter 184, (and there's a Webtoon as well-- the art is absolutely stunning!) and totally hooked. If you haven't read it, I seriously recommend it. It's amazing. But I don't want to spoil anyone yet, so moving on, onto:
What is Hermitcraft?
It's a Minecraft server, an absolutely awesome one! It's been going on for a long time, about 10 years now, maybe? It's made up of 8 seasons, each lasting about a year. I'm actually a relatively new fan, since I started in Season 7.
Now, I could rant for hours upon hours about how awesome Hermitcraft is. How fun each of the members are. How much impact the creators themselves have had on the Minecraft game itself. How inspiring they all are. How beautiful the server is. It's an amazing series, and it truly deserves recognition. There's a reason it's lasted for 8 seasons, and I believe that the fandom and community will keep on running even after Minecraft itself falls out of the trends.
But I'm lazy! So, here!
What is Evo SMP?
*deep breath* I have a confession to make.
I never actually watched Evo.
All my knowledge on it is from Watcher!Grian AUs and fanfiction-- namely And The Universe Shifted.
I'm sorry. Take these cookies as an apology. 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪
So! Uh, this is what I know about Evo:
It's a Minecraft server where everyone starts on the oldest version of the game, and these entities called Watchers make portals for the players to go through and get to the next Minecraft update.
One of the more notable members of Evo was Grian, who is now on Hermitcraft. After defeating the Ender Dragon, he was taken away by the Watchers, and I believe it was implied that he became one himself?
There's a lot of fanmade lore about the Watchers, like whether they're good or evil, their powers, the reason they took Grian, ect. It's assumed that in-universe, the timeline goes like Evo -> taken by Watchers -> ??? -> Hermitcraft. (And Yandere High School, but I'm even less qualified to talk about that.)
Additional little detail, one of Grian's friends from Evo, PearlescentMoon, also joined Hermitcraft in the latest season, so there's that.
Now, what does all of this mean?
It means that Grian became a constellation!
:D
Finally, the actual freaking AU:
So in this AU, Grian and his friends are in the apocalypse, and they've all made a party, like in video games. The name of their party is Evolutions.
They've been surviving for a long time, and have gotten a lot of achievements under their belts. They're pretty well-known in the area, Grian in particular, who is infamous for starting "wars" between other groups.
One day, they go to slay this big, scary, high-ranked dragon. It's a tough battle, but they push through and they win. Great. The dragon is dead, the constellations are giving them coins, they got cool rewards, and everyone's alive, except-- hey, where's Grian?
So, MAJOR SPOILERS for Omniscient Reader, but an incarnation can become a constellation if they have 5 "legendary" stories. So Evo didn't know that-- but it's cool! I mean, they're pretty famous, but nothing that noteworthy, and it's not as if slaying this dragon would result in a "story", right?
Right?
So Grian's a constellation now. (Irrelevant to the story, but just imagine the chaos he would cause as a literal god. I mean, he started entire wars just as an incarnation!) And there's the question of why he can't go back to Evo. In ORV, Kim Dokja was still allowed to participate in the scenarios after he became a constellation. I haven't really worked that out yet.
So Grian's stuck, but not all hope is lost! After moping around for a while, watching his friends and companions deal with his disappearence, so close yet so far-- he gets an invitation to a famous nebula. (A nebula is a group of constellations.)
[The constellation 'Winged Seeker of Chaos' has joined the nebula 'Hermitcraft'!]

(Angst for Simeon. Slight spoilers for lessons 39, 52 and 55)
"I assume you know why I called you today, Simeon." A warm voice laced with faux kindness spoke from above him. The ebony angel looked up at Micheal the Archangel, who was leisurely sitting on a throne completely made up of Celestial Gold. The most precious metal in the Celestial Realm. Though his expression remained calm as it always did, the way his wings tensed up revealed how nervous he was truly feeling right now. Still… Simeon wasn't willing to back down now. Despite Micheal's status, Simeon saw him as a regular angel rather than his superior.
"I'm not quite sure. What is it this time, Micheal?" His soft voice hid a layer of sarcasm. The platinum blonde angel breathed out a disappointed sigh. "I'm concerned about you, Simeon." The famous starter of yet another lecture… Micheal was still so similar to Lucifer, whether he wanted to admit it or not. "You have the potential to be a great angel." Somehow, Simeon doubted that, but he didn't voice his concerns just yet. "Yet you refuse to behave how a proper angel should. First, you steal my ring and give it to an ordinary human without telling me." At the words 'ordinary human' he felt his feathers ruffle up even more.
"I couldn't just let them die. They needed the ring more than you did." Simeon couldn't hold back this time. Normally, he stayed out of conflict, but… he couldn't bear the thought of losing his little lamb. "I thought I told you before, Simeon. That matter didn't concern the Celestial Realm. Angels aren't allowed to interfere with human lives. The destruction would have been severed with their death, would it not?" The angel's blood began to run cold at the cruel thought. "I wasn't willing to let an innocent human die, Micheal." Simeon snapped angrily, slowly losing his composure. Luke saw you as a parental figure, nearly looking up to you as much as he did Micheal.
Your death would surely devastate the little angel… and Simeon hated the thought of you dying, even if you did end up in the Celestial Realm. "You seem quite fond of that human." Micheal noted as a subtle threat hung in the air. "I… They're important to Luke, that's all." The transparent curtain of his lie let the Archangel see right through him. "Is that the case? I wouldn't want us to have another Lilith… You know what would happen to them…" Simeon's heart clenched as he was momentarily stunned into silence. His eyes followed Micheal's movements as he descended the stairs of his throne. "I've spend countless years building the Celestial Realm back up to perfection, repairing the damage done by those seven brothers."
Simeon's shoulders tensed as Micheal wrapped an arm around them. "I've granted you the privilege of seeing them again, but I can easily take it away. This exchange program is a threat to the entire Celestial Realm…" He trailed off for a moment. Despite the venom in his words, Simeon knew he missed Lucifer as much as he had. "I'm not afraid to take drastic measures to keep you in line, Simeon. Demotion didn't work… but I figure this would." Micheal dangled a delicate golden bangle in the air and Simeon felt his heart drop. "Do you understand what I'm saying?" As the blonde retracted his arm, Simeon quietly spoke. "Yes, Micheal."
"I'm only doing this because I love each and every angel Father has created. In order to keep this place peaceful, I will take any measure necessary to cure that doubt of yours." Was Micheal listening when he had confessed his doubts to you? When you had comforted him through it all? He began to long for your warmth and kindness, your reassurance that he was a good angel. "I've let you off with a warning after stealing my ring, but if I catch word of you getting any closer to that human, I won't hesitate to eliminate them. I simply can't have another Lilith. You understand, surely!" Suddenly, the eternal warmth of the sun's rays felt alarmingly cold.
The cool breeze nearly made him topple over, and the once comfortable silence felt suffocating. His silence was enough of an answer. "I'm glad we could finally have this talk. Rapheal will be happy to know you'll be focusing on the reason you came to the Human world in the first place. You're dismissed." Micheal's smile returned, though it resembled more of a sadistic grin. At the moment, Simeon was sure he didn't want to be an angel any longer. He longed for the days before the war, before those awful bangles were introduced. The days that only existed in his memories and the world of TSL.
Simeon returned to the café silently, where Luke was nervously fiddling with his hands. Simeon couldn't help but smile, genuinely moved that the small angel had stayed up late to wait for him. "Simeon!" Luke greeted him with a hug. "How did your meeting go?" Simeon gave a shaky laugh in response. "Everything went fine, Luke. Were you worried?" He asked, trying to force his tone to be calm. "Of course I was worried! You didn't want to meet with Micheal, and Rapheal stopped by looking upset." Though that was normal for Rapheal nowadays, it must have been upsetting for Luke. "There's no need to worry, Luke. It was just a check-in is all." Although he hated lying to Luke, the last thing he wanted was to upset him.
"I'm glad that you're okay. I want to meet with Micheal next time!" The Archangel was much warmer, kinder and patient towards Luke, likely because he was so young. It would be many centuries before he would be introduced to a bangle… "I made cupcakes! Do you want to try one?" Simeon chuckled softly. "I'd love to." He followed the energetic angel, although his mind was on you rather than the cupcakes. Your comfort seemed much more appealing than dessert.

Not sure if you've been asked this or not, but why are the big 4 archangels (Uriel, Gabriel, Michael and Raphael) depicted to be so powerful when archangels are only one step above ordinary angels in the angel hierarchy? Also, why uniquely distinguish those four if you're gonna reduce archangels into a single generic demon anyway? Isn't that just redundant?
Well, you can’t let yourself get caught up in power levels when it comes to mythology, especially mythology as literature. All that matters with Michael and power is that he can/will vanquish Satan. And I would assume quite easily. Good will generally win and when/if evil does instead it’s usually to dramatically present a moral failing or explain a cultural assumption. Level-wise, Michael would be Lv. Better and Satan would be Lv. Lesser.
Angel hierarchies did not exist when either half of the Bible was written. Archangel just means “chief” angel. The higher up you go in the hierarchy, the closer to God the angels get. So archangels being after the normal angels seems right since they have earth-related duties. And if cherubim and seraphim are closer to God that doesn’t necessarily mean they are more “powerful,” because they have no associations with combat. A seraph really isn’t going to cast Megidolaon at you. On the other hand, Michael is a martial angel of demonic combat who is guaranteed to win every time in the very specific situations created for him by the biblical authors. And should you interpret angels as extensions of God, rank might barely matter; each angel was created for a specific role in the grand scheme.
But yeah, this doesn’t exclude the generic angels that the hierarchies are assumed to have created. The canonicity of named angels is all kinds of mixed up between Christian denominations, where Uriel and Raphael would be barely known to most American Christians. Like most mythic texts, there are many different versions with distinct interpretations that ensure a consistent, comprehensive canon is basically impossible to render between them all. SMT chooses to have the generic angels exist side by side with the famous names and, honestly, it works well!
