So I've been rewatching season 1, and remember how when Cheng Xiaoshi enters a photo, he still carries his original physical abilities? He is not at all limited by the body of the person he's acting as.

So here's a new theory:

I used to think that when Cheng Xiaoshi enters photos, he possesses the body of the one who took the photo. Like, it's just his spirit entering and the body is still the other person's

But i realized this might be wrong.

If it's really just his spirit, why would his body disappear in the present timeline and why would his physical abilities carry over in the past?

It can only be that he doesn't "possess," he literally becomes that person. His body also enters the photo, somehow replacing the client's body and looking like it.

This also explains why when he enters videos, he can enter with his original appearance

Maybe photos don't have enough power to project his appearance, but videos do

Edit: okay wait, this doesn't hold up when you consider how his heart also throbs when the client's heart is... That's the one thing that doesn't fit

selfishly, i wish there had been more actual mind control in the fic because i have problems in my brain and the horrors attack me nightly, but otherwise this is just really great. i love the focus on sam's emotions and the fear and horror of what he's been doing. the paragraph spacing is all kinds of wonky and honestly really off-putting, but once i pushed past that, it was an awesome read.

deadass i think this author lives in my brain. i can't believe they wrote my exact kink, wrote it well, and gave it a satisfying ending all in one fic. i love how they executed their incest headcanons and developed the background for their relationship, and jesus christ i can't even stress how good this soulbond is. i can't be normal after reading this. author has a tendency to skip over words on occasion, but otherwise it's really well written and i'm so impressed with it.

As some know i am replaying Bloodborne.

I was wondering around Cathedral Ward and i just discover something… something a bit dark that i never noticed before. Wow i gained insight.

For everyone who played the game, you might be aware there’s a lot of tombstones, urns with bones and coffins in Yharnam right ? There’s even bones everywhere who are being moved.

We really arrived at the worst time 💀 everyone was really dying or trying to run away but failed (abandoned horse drawn)

Also it seems there some sorts of crematorium in Cathedral ward here in addition to Hemwick (i wont re tell all the theories on Hemwick but it’s were corpse are send to have bone marrow ash)

So i noticed this « box »… i never really took the time to pay attention to it until now.

it’s not just a box. But a small coffin. A child’s coffin.

I took a closer look at it. And look what’s inside 💀

Do you see it now? The hand with the claws ?

I guess one big mysteries in Bloodborne is explain now. At least more clear. Children can contract the beast plague.

(+ there’s a messenger head on it. Something associated with children kinda)

Loran bastards are stillborn and contract it before birth but it wasn’t clear if they could be infected and how children were impacted by it. So do they die naturally because their body can’t support it ? Or.. does someone have to put and end to them? I don’t want to think too much about it…

An other child corpse we saw is where we found the beggar. And oh some of the Mensis corpse are children too 💀 (they’re not small foreigners) It’s complicated in video games to show graphically children deaths, that would cause problems. Fromsoftware always need to come up with way to integrated it astuciously so the world stay coherent. (That’s also why we never saw Gascoigne daughter… the player could have the choice to kill her and it’s a no no)

Update : ok there’s 2 skull in it 💀 (nothing in an other one) so yeah i guess it could be to deplaced bones like the the chalice dungeon (there’s small wood box with bones but they are differents) + that doesn’t explain the hand ? And well it make sense i guess…

Look I am STILL not over the fact that, if reviewers are to be believed:

...in eight episodes of Season 3 there is not one single instance of discussion about/revelation of Tech dying.

Not.

One.

That's absurd writing if he's not coming back. It makes zero sense and diminishes the loss substantially. Know how you convince me he's coming back? You do not let me see the emotional fallout in realtime. You rely on social media reminding me non-fucking-stop because the show itself is not once going to actually make it a character moment, it's just going to show everyone being Very Sad and occasionally mentioning him in aside.

Those are not the same thing as actually giving the reaction and consequences of someone dying. They're not!

We don't get to see how anyone takes the news! Which of course is a mark under 'he's coming back' but also it means there was no reason at all to have the audience think he's dead too. If you're not even going to make it an emotional journey we see on screen then why are we doing this? Why not just badly injure him and end the season with him in a bacta tank/coma somewhere? It's the same result: he cannot help them, might be lost for good.

Don't get me wrong if/when he returns I'll be over the moon but I also do not understand the point of this exercise if we do not, in the first 3 hours of the season, talk about THE BIG FUCKING THING that happened at the end of Season 2 and what it did to everyone. Was that not the whole point???

If you kill a character and leave it as a minor side item making people existentially sad I am going to call that bad writing. Period, end of discussion. If you bring them back I'm going to be tired but happy they returned. There's really no middle ground here.
