I can't get the idea of a Badger shifter reader out of my head. Like 141 read their file (or whatever) and are expecting a cute European badger but instead they are the feral rattlesnake eating American badger that will fuck you up

Okay okay I had to do a bit of research but!

European badgers are social creatures who live in family groups, and they hibernate. So their weight fluctuates but looks like 15-29 pounds in spring, and 33-37 pounds before the winter sleep. They're cute! Excellent animal

The American badger, on the other hand, has bigass foreclaws. They apparently do not hibernate, but do become less active in the winter. Males are slightly bigger than females, averaging 19 pounds for a male and 14-16 pounds for a female. American badgers have also been recorded hunting with a coyote! Which leads to more successful hunts for the coyote. Badass.

So it looks like in terms of size these guys are pretty comparable. I think the big difference is the diet. The American badger will eat ANYTHING: rattlesnakes, ground nesting birds and eggs, small mammals, insects, small lizards, and some vegetation such as corn, sunflower seeds, and peas. The European (or Eurasian) badger by contrast is also technically a carnivore, feeding on small mammals and birds and carrion, but also feeds on a wide variety of plants.

So the 141 is expecting a social mostly peaceable little badger buddy... and they get a no-fucks-given will eat rattlesnakes American badger. That would be absolutely hysterical. None of them intimidate badger in the least.
