“thank you so much for being on the show,” hannah smiles into the mic. “i’m shocked to even receive the email from your pr manager, actually.”

“no, yeah,” she grins, nails pressed against her lips, biting down on the bottom. she’s never actually been on a podcast before. “we were talking about making an appearance somewhere, but i’m kinda - very - intimidated by men. i chose this podcast specifically.”

“oh, you know of our existence,” emma gushes, giggling slightly. “we feel so honoured. thank you so much.”

“honestly, i’m always around men,” she laughs, scrunching her nose. “i live with a man. so being around women is always a very nice change.”

“right, you recently moved in with logan sargeant in the uk,” hannah points out. “if you don’t mind me asking, how did that decision come about? because you’re really good friends with oscar piastri as well, how come he doesn’t live with you guys?”

“oh, that’s an interesting point,” emma frowns. “i never thought of that.”

“yeah, so growing up oscar and logan actually stayed with my family on and off just because they’ve got brothers and sisters that their parents would have to attend to back home,” she recalls out loud, remembering the sleepovers they’ve spend in the living room with her siblings. “i think when i was… like 15, oscar was 16, and logan was 17, obviously.

i think my sister and i had a really bad fight that turned the house upside down. i mentioned that i couldn’t wait to move out and never speak to her again — i was very overdramatic as a teen. and they were like ‘yeah, that’s a good idea! we should get a place!’”

“oh, so you didn’t even propose the idea of living together?”

“exactly! they just love inviting themselves to be a part of my life. they’ve got cars while i don’t, so that’s a big plus,” she laughs. “then, well, oscar met lily when he was 18 and they got an apartment together after oscar landed reserve driver for alpine. which then left logan and i to kinda figure things out. then, we both landed a contract to race in the 2023 season and both our racing headquarters are in uk, luckily. so we made the decision to move in together earlier this year.”

“so oscar bailed!”

“that’s okay,” she scoffs, waving off the host’s concern. “we live pretty close by, so lily and oscar are always at our place anyway.”

“so, i totally don’t wanna get into it. but like, girl to girl,” hannah grins giddily. “and i promise we’ll get into the racing stuff in a bit, but i’m just curious.”

“it’s okay because i like you guys,” she jokes. “ask away.”

“there’s a lot of speculation that you and logan seem to be too close to just be best friends,” hannah explains. “and it’s seemed to be a trend since you were in f2 together, so i just wanna ask you if… well…”

she smiles. this isn’t exactly the first time she’s heard that. while they preferred to keep their relationship under wraps for several reasons, her and logan aren’t very discreet either.

there are pictures on the internet, after races where they head to weigh-in together with logan holding her things, laughing as they walk, which is normal. but there are also a couple of pictures where they were caught with logan’s hand on her cheek, or of them walking in the paddocks with her hands wrapped around his arm.

she’s not shocked that people talk about their relationship, but more shocked that everyone seems to shrug it off as them being really good friends.

“we’re actually not romantically involved at all,” she lies, though her cheeks flush up at the thought of her boyfriend. “i think we met really early on in life so we’re super comfortable with each other.”

“so, you’re setting the record straight. you don’t have a man.”

she nods firmly. “i don’t have a man. not planning to get one — i’ve just been really busy with my career. if anything, logan is my stand-in date for every event.”

“that’s true friendship if i’ve ever seen one.”

Just Call Me Santa - LN

Request (asked to be anon): i was wondering if you could pls write something where the reader spends christmas with lando bc she has a bad home life? (this is my life rn and wish i had a lando). maybe he calls her on christmas eve and sees her crying or whatever and instantly drives to pick her up and despite protests, says she's going to have a good christmas with people that love her :') he spends all night and day doting on her and making her feel better. i love fluffy lando :')

For the record, I have literally chose to spend christmas' on my own away from my family because they're just not the easiest people to get on with a lot of the time, especially when all put in a house together. So this is going to be easy to write and thank you so much for sending this in. Since it's Christmas themed, I have prioritised writing it to try and get it up before Christmas (it's still the 24th where I am rn so hopefully I'll get it finished soon, if I've succeeded then you're reading this before the 25th)

Lando knows y/n wasn't exactly thrilled about going home for Christmas, her family is dysfunctional to say the least. Cram them in one room to open gifts where they'll not hide their judgement of each other's choices of gift. If they don't like it then they'll let each other know, that's for certain.

Hence why y/n was near to tearing her own hair out when it came to buying gifts for her family. The stress had gotten to her and Lando was hesitant about letting her go home at all, but she insisted she hadn't seen so many of her family members for months and it'd be wrong for her to miss the occasion.

Y/n was determined to have a good time even if it'd be hard.

What she didn't expect was that in her absence of travelling around with Lando so much and sort of focusing on herself through the year, she'd missed out on knowing about all the drama and internal family arguments which have apparently continued into the holidays.

Y/n sits in the living room, watching her cousins on one side of her family scream at her aunt and uncle about some wedding or engagement? She's not even sure, but some earlier event in the year, that she must've ignored the invitation to attend, where apparently her aunt and uncle were out of line. Her grandparents have even got involved in the screaming match.

It's not till her phone rings that she notices the time, they started the pyjama gift opening. Quite a common tradition in families to get new pyjamas on Christmas Eve ahead of Christmas morning. All of them matching so they can take pictures and pretend to actually be a cohesive and happy family.

Y/n's mum used to try and endure the holidays sober for the benefit of her children, but now they're all adults, she allows herself the numbing haze of alcohol. Her dad and a few other men (ones that haven't been pulled into the drama by their female counterparts) have escaped into the conservatory to drink and smoke with the shouting slightly less deafening from a distance.

Seeing the call is from Lando who promised to call before his Christmas Eve dinner. Since his family are significantly more well off than her own who only just make it into the middle class territory thanks to their postcode more than anything else.

She manages to weave her way through the overcrowded living room, going unnoticed thanks to another cousin making a comment just to add fuel to the flames and the reactions are explosive.

"Hey-what is that noise?" Lando questions still being able to hear the noise as y/n grabs her coat, ready to step outside.

"Extended family bickering about something."

"Bickering? Baby, it sounds like one of your neighbours might call the police on you guys." Lando states with worry heavy in his voice, and that just triggers some sort of ache in y/n's chest as she sniffles. "Baby? Speak to me. What's going on?"

"It's just...I just wanted to come home and enjoy seeing my family." Y/n sniffles then sighing. "I don't know why I ever expected it to be better. It's not going to get better just because I want it to be better...the police probably will be called on us tomorrow. Christmas Day is only ever worse than Christmas Eve. More alcohol and more judgment."

"I'm coming to get you."

"No. No. I wasn't even invited-"

"You are always invited." Lando states almost as if he's angry at the mere suggestion and maybe he is. "I'm coming to get you. I'm leaving now."

"No. I promised-"

"Y/n, get off the phone with your fucking sugar daddy. You're my sister, you're supposed to be on my fucking side!" Y/n's sister screaming as the door flies open. "I'm being fucking attacked in here by a pack of rabid dogs-"

"Don't you dare call me a dog!"

"I'm sorry, baby. Enjoy your dinner. I'll see you on Boxing Day. I have to go. Love you."

"Jesus are you crying?!" Is the last thing Lando catches before the line cutes and he nearly growls standing up.

"I'm really sorry, I have to go." Lando states jogging down the stairs and into the family room where his parents and siblings are sitting, along with his brother's wife and nieces.

"Is everything ok?" Adam frowns making Lando shake his head.

"I'm going to get y/n and bring her here. She's in tears over there and I can't just leave her there." Lando states earning some sad expressions. His family have loved y/n and treated her as family since they met her, t the point that they didn't think it was needed to invite her for Christmas because they were sure she knew how welcome she is.

Nearly all of them have spent time with her without Lando having to be there, sometimes not even in the country. His sisters joke about preferring her company to his. The idea of her being miserable because she's at home with her own family who don't know how to just enjoy each other's company.

"Go get her. She's going to spend Christmas with a family who really love her. Go on." Cisca nods shooing at her son who smiles lightly, leaning to kiss her cheek before he rushes off.

Y/n begins to wonder if the police might actually show up when it hits midnight and her family seem to have only gotten louder. Nearly 9 hours of arguing. Surely someone has the courage to call the police on them.

It happened last year and nothing came of it.

The year before that, some members of the family called the police on other members of the family. You'd think by now they'd have learned to just not involve themselves in a "family" Christmas.

She should call Lando back. Apologise to him for the abrupt ending to the phone call.

There's banging on the door and the family falls silent for the first time in hours. Finally the police were alerted and they'd all be told to shut the fuck up which would ultimately end in everyone finally going to bed.

It's already Christmas officially but god knows when they'll actually get Christmas morning. If anyone is awake before midday tomorrow it'll be the team of family on cooking duty or people who haven't slept at all anyway.

"Oh well if it isn't Santa here to save the fucking day." Her sarcastic cousin states, the only one at the ready to probably punch a police officer in the face for daring to interrupt their tirade.

"Where's y/n?" A voice that perks y/n up from the seat she'd balled herself up in.

"Y/n! Prince Charming is here to save you from your big bad horrible family."

All eyes turn to her, some with a rage, some void of emotion and some filled with jealousy that she has another place to go.

She gets up, moving through the room and disappearing out the doorway where her cousin is standing with Lando who looks like he might be the reason the police are finally called for. At least if his reads as a book for just how violet his thoughts seem to be.

Y/n doesn't say anything, instead pushing her cousin with little regard out the way of the door and closing it behind herself as she steps outside with Lando.

"I told you-"

"I don't care, if you think I'm letting you stay here when there's a real family waiting for you who love and care about you enjoying Christmas like you deserve to. Then you are mistaken. Now go inside and get your stuff because you're coming home with me."

Y/n wants to be upset by the tone Lando is using on her, but honestly she can't. It's nothing on what she's heard from the people she shares blood and a last name with.

"Or you can just come with me and we can leave right now."

Y/n looks at her for a moment easily at war with her promise vs putting herself first.

"Ok, let's go." Lando states since it's a few hours of driving and it's already very late.

Lando tried to get y/n's mind off of her family and what she just left behind but she eventually fell asleep. By the time they arrive at his family home, it's nearly four in the morning.

"Come on baby." Lando whispers as he picks her up from the passenger seat.

"I can walk." She mumbles still very much completely asleep.

"I know you can." Lando smiles lightly as he kicks the car door closed and manages to press the button to lock it.

He gets her up to his room and kisses her softly as he places her in the bed. She was in her pyjamas from her family, so he just undresses and climbs in beside her. Pulling her to cuddle in with him.

The rest of the family leave them to sleep as long as possible, Cisca waking them up only an hour before midday so they don't miss too much of Christmas but are also as well rested as they can be since she did hear them come in and checked the time.

"I'm so glad you're here, we all bought gifts for you that we were going to have to wait to give you. Seems wrong for you to not be here with us." Cisca states earning an agreement from the family as Y/n sits on the floor with Lando taking a spot behind her.

Y/n gets just as many gifts as Lando, who insists on her helping him open some of his gifts just so he can make her as involved and feel as big as part of the Norris family Christmas as possible.

They sit down for dinner and while at first y/n was pretty visibly uncomfortable and looked like she wanted to hide away even with everyone making it obvious how much they wanted her there and how happy they were she was there to be apart of the family celebration. She settled into a more comfortable mood while eating.

Seeing y/n really in her element with his family, Lando just sits back eating and watching her. Admiring her in silence because he is just so in love and he knows this is going to be the first of many Christmas' that she spends in this family. And one day she'll be a Norris among the rest of the Norris', that he's almost certain.

Eventually they've eaten themselves into some food comas and shifted over to the living room where Lando's nieces are the only ones who can move without groaning.

"I'm glad I kidnapped you." Lando whispers making y/n turn her head from the tv where The Grinch is playing.

Everyone else beyond the kids have fallen asleep and she was only just awake.

"I'm glad too. I'm sorry I tried to fight you on it."

"You thought you were doing the right thing. But you know this is your family even if it's not by blood...and we all love you more than you realise." Lando states making her tear up, but he's wiping at her eyes quick enough to catch them before they've fallen properly.

She sniffles before moving her fingers up to her lips, kissing them and then moving her hand to pass the kiss to him. Still too full to try and move. He just kisses her fingers earning a grin before she yawns a little.

"We should nap like everyone else."

"Yeah, recovery nap." Lando hums twirling her hair around his fingers which is already making her drift off.

It might not have been the Christmas she had gone into the holidays wanting but it surpassed her hopes and she'd not go back to change anything, aside from maybe just not bothering to go to her family's house at all and instead come straight here.

after this incident she definitely stops calling you her gf.

gives you a really pretty ring she got one of the hephaestus kids to make, starts calling you her wife

and nobody better have a problem w that lol or else they got two ares killing machines, one feral attack dog, and a literal mother who is not afraid to drag you by your ear.

☆ The only reason why he only brought a lightstick was bcs, he treats your concert like its his monthly/weekly routine

☆ Youre having a 2 day concert in seoul? You know damn right he'll be there despite his busy schedule

☆ hes a bit dissappointed when he founds out that he wasnt the first one to arrive at the venue, he was like "2 hours before the concert starts, and theres alot of people waiting..." poor him, he thought he was the first 😭

☆ he'd show up with his mask on and a cap as he didnt want the fans to know he came to see you

☆ but that kinda failed as your fans started to notice his famous boba eyes in the crowds

☆ this made him open his mask, since theres no point in using it 😭

☆ he'll do anything to get noticed by you, even tho he knows youre his lover

☆ before the concert, he texted, 'i'll be on the middle row, 3rd line from the front!!'

☆ but he decided to go extra as he thought you'd forget to see him so yk what he did? he brought glowing light sticks with him to make him more noticable 😭😭

☆ when you noticed him, you gave him a heart and him being a fanboy of yours, he started giggling and bragged to his sisters, "did you see that? they definitely gave that heart to me"

☆ after the concert ends, he'd ask one of his sisters to take photos of him doing cute poses whenever youre on screen, like him doing a big heart whenever you show up on the screen

☆ fans found this cute as they started uploading his leaked pictures doing those poses

been thinking a lot about how to organise fic recs into some sort of sensible post, 'cus there are so many (great!) pairings and (delicious!) driver combinations, not to mention so many varying styles of fic and SUPER TALENTED WRITERS!!111!!

just gonna list a bunch in no particular order, with accompanying pics, so you can get a sense of the vibes.

LISTEN! charles to rbr is one of the best premises ever and i will read it in like a thousand iterations. but this fic. this fic series in particular cleared my skin, made me want to cut my hair into a bob out of sheer emotion. i would be remiss not to start with this one because its impact on my f1 rpf trajectory should be studied by science. you know when a story just jumps off the page and it's so real that it becomes your canon. a kind of meteoric inevitability. plus, i almost never cry at fics. but by the time the third act of this one hit, i just went -- damn, am i rly about to tear up at a f1 rpf fanfiction rn? (yes.)

max as a f1 engineer? for CARLOS at FERRARI? sign me the fuckkk up. first off, awesome premise. there's always going to be something so heartwrenching about "what ifs", especially in any universe where max isn't a racer. despite the change of circumstances, just... the sheer poetry of two characters who just inexplicably find their way to each other in any universe... 🤧 also this story nails racing scenes in a way that's so visceral, i feel like a fly on the damn halo with them. and, aside from the gourmet lestappen, carlos's whole thing in this fic is joyous! spicy! he's so unapologetic and vaguely annoying! hilarious! + the swimming pool scene lives rent-free in my head.

this fic is magic. literally and figuratively. (MERMAID LANDO???? MERMAID LANDO.) the kind of story that makes you gasp and melt a little bit. and made me want to throw my phone at the writer, 'cause it's really that good. the yearning, the metaphor for all that's monstrous, a boy who is lost (and the boy who he finds, is equally so). this is just beautifully written and a little quirky and so well executed. i think i put it in my bookmarks as "what if lando was a mermaid and it was filmed by a24" or something. pearl of a story.

BUT. the hockeyyy one my GOD. the barely restrained violence, their mutual desire, the theme of finding your place... *wails uncontrollably*

max is a governess(govern..lad?) and daniel is the mystery man at the manor. this was a response to a request i made in the kinkmeme! (if you haven't read those fics go check 'em out, there are so many great ones, and not necessarily all rated e). this is a criminally underrated little story that has my favourite repressed feelings + people dancing around each other + gothic vibes + "what the hell is wrong with y'all in this tale" combo that i really adore. it's really well written and captures the atmosphere so well.

i LOVE, LOOOOVE a sci fi concept alright. love that shit, will inhale it like moon dust with zero regrets. and what a fantastic one this one is!! the premise is that the FIA can now statistically show the compatibility of drivers on the grid and it's very pacific rim-y drift compatible, mixed with the surreal vibes of eternal sunshine or HER or some such. it should be outrageous, but it really works. that's the beauty of a great fic right there.

also one of the fics i first read when i hopped on board the f1 rpf train. the pain and poignancy just gets worse the more i learn about brocedes. you know when you're like "there's no way this was reallll" and then you're like "fuck, it was so real". then you get a fic like this that just encapsulates all that rage and loss and grief and upset, set against the starry vista of endless space. *clutches tablecloth* god.

a/n: i spent maybe 5 mins brainstorming abt the summary :’), but reblogs would help and im literally too embarrassed to read this so i could proofread it but enjoy lol, but check the hashtag #xavizgirl so you can see all my works there ahaha

you and xavier had a fight last week and you haven’t talked to him ever since because he was jealous of a guy he saw you walking to class with,

though it was really stupid, you have to admit you did miss him a lot, you missed his stupid face, how he peppered you with kisses, how he handed you paintings of yourself or one of your favorite things you told him about, cuddling with him almost every night, you just miss him in general.

“hey, do you wanna hang out today? maybe go shopping?” bianca asks

you were too busy staring at a picture with xavier and you in it,

“huh?” you asked cluelessly as you heard muffled noises from her mouth

“let me guess, xavier? you’ve been ranting about the fight between you two for about a week, ya know?” the siren stated

“he’s just so stupid, he didn’t even let me finish what i was trying to say after he pulled me off the fucking guy!” you explained

“well, maybe you should just try confronting the boy. who knows you two just need to talk?” she answers

“well maybe i could do that, but what am i gonna say to him? it’s gonna be so awkward” you whined

“just explain how you’ve been feeling about the fight, how you barely know the guy, and stuff, but it has to be sincere and it has to come from your heart” she advised

“i’ll try my best, thank you bianca, i really owe you for this one okay?” you gave her a smile

“goodluck, y/n!” she gave you a thumbs up

you pulled out your phone go text xavier,,

y/n: hey can we talk?

xay: uh sure? why?

y/n: can we plz just talk

xay: ok, when and where

y/n: like rn, and maybe our spot in the woods

xay: ok be there rn

you hearted his message and put your cellphone into your pocket, you were walking in the forest so that you could meed up with xavier and make things right until a large, hairy, grey, big eyes, bloodshot monster stumbled you over, it looked like a beast or some sort of creature. it trapped you and before you knew it, it’s claw’s scratched your skin through your clothes twice and you were a literal bleeding mess. you tried to run as fast as you could and tried to grab your phone so that you could call an ambulance or xavier but realized you have dropped it while running, and that was all you remembered.

xavier was still waiting for you and he was starting to get impatient and think he was getting pranked, he has texted you nonstop and sent you calls but it kept going to voicemail, eventually.. he gave up and tried to go back to nevemore but he saw your unconscious body and you were bleeding.

“y/n? what the fuck!” he screamed as he saw you

“everything’s gonna be fine, everything’s gonna be fine” he said running to your body panicking and immediately called the ambulance

once they have arrived they took you into the truck, while xavier was so awfully worried and kept blaming himself while pacing, bianca and ajax walked up to him and asked what happened,

“it’s y/n.. she got fucking attacked!” the artist cursed

“hey, it’s gonna be alright, okay? the nurses and doctors are gonna make sure she’s gonna make it” ajax calms him down

“and besides, we can also visit her. dont worry, we’re all here for you xavier” the siren added

it has been 3 weeks and you still haven’t woken up, xavier was so stressed, his lips are so dry, he looked like he hasn’t eaten in about a week, and he has very dark eye bags, it was the weekend and he decided to go visit you.

he opened the door and saw that you still haven’t woken up, he sighed and put one of his letters on the table.

“i miss you” he muttered while grabbing your cold hands

“it’s all my fault” the blonde boy sighs

you opened your eyes slowly and saw him tearing up a bit, “xavi..?” you say

“y/n! you’re awake!” he looked up and saw that you were awake so he quickly wiped his tears with his sleeve.

“were you crying, xavi?” you asked and tried to sit up and but felt a pain in your stomach and hissed in pain,,

“fuck!” you cried

“hey, hey, hey, the doctors say your stomach is still not okay, so they don’t recommend sitting for now, yeah? but they say it will heal a bit fast, so you’re gonna be okay, alright?” he dodged your question

“xavi.. you’re ignoring my question” you gave him a frown

“i’m not crying, silly. and even if i was it wouldn’t matter, we need to focus on you right now, bubs” he points to you

“and i kinda want to apologize, for you know.. being jealous and overprotective, i’m the reason you got here..” he says

“don’t blame yourself, i should’ve waited for the next day” you chucked reaching out for his hand

he held your hand and kissed your forehead, “i won’t let anything happen to you, i promise i’m gonna keep you safe, okay?” he assured

I decided to keep affirming no matter what, exactly like you told me to do. i affirmed when i didnt feel good, i affirmed when i feel like it wasnt working, i affirmed no matter what and kept trying every night, when i failed i'd still affirm, yesterday was no different day i mean i didnt feel extra powerful or anything i just affirmed for a while and then i slept, after a while i woke up to see myself in a completely black place i couldnt even feel my body and i realized instantly that i was in the void so i affirmed for my desires and decided to come back. and when i got back i felt like crying because after all this time i finally did it!! i was gonna check for my results but i felt exhausted so i decided to sleep when i accidentally knocked something down and when i saw what it was it was THE PHONE I MANIFESTED KDJCBUDHDB!! i literally wanted to scream, but i didnt even check it because idk i wanted to keep it all as a surprise for the morning lol. anyways i woke in the morning and as soon as i did i went to see my face and I STOOD THERE IN SHOCK BROO LIKE THAT IS ME??
