As per usual, I am LATE.
But I have posted my newest Durgetash brainrot fic.
And it's a multi-chapter one, so...
I imagine I will try to be consistent with how often I update it...I imagine I will fail.
But I have every intention of at least updating either every week, or every two weeks, should disastrous things happen, or if I simply need a break to think of more disgusting ideas.
Sooooo.
With that being said.
MIND THE TAGS AGAIN PLEASE. THANK YOU.
Link:
Pairing: (Trans male) Dark Urge x Gortash
Warnings: Sex and swearing. Also, mind the tags on AO3. Not present yet, but I have every intention of being disgusting.
Summary:
The Dark Urge does not remember Enver Gortash, but the lordling refuses to accept that. He will force him to remember what they were to one another, before his memories were carved out. Whether he wants to remember or not.

I don't care how "Poetic" and "Age Old" it is the term "Fire and Ice" don't make sense no matter how much mental gymnastics you do, water is arguably the opposite of fire.
If you still want an equally extreme opposite of Ice try electricity, it's just just even hotter plasma.

Day Eighty-Three
Today was so weird. It's nearing the end of the semester, and usually that means students get super focused because they're trying to get their grades up. Instead, most of my freshmen lost all ability to focus because there's a storm coming and they might have a snow day tomorrow. And then there was a fight in the cafeteria, and they couldn't stop talking about that.
Tumblr media
I did manage to teach a lesson, though! I had to stop to redirect students entirely too often, but I still made it happen.
First, I went over yesterday's assignment about different types of governments and economic systems. Then I showed them some maps indicating where those systems are found, and which countries are the most fragile. We also revisited a map they've seen before, which is the map of countries currently experiencing armed conflict. I backed up Mr. F's lessons without meaning to (but we will absolutely pretend I meant to, heh). He was teaching about correlation and causation; I was asking students to tell me whether there was a correlation between the type of government or economy a country had and its fragility (no), or a correlation between conflict and fragility (yes). So, y'know, that's some unintentional awesomeness right there.
In APGOV, I taught the last lesson I had to teach, which was about the media as a linkage institution. I'd been telling my students it'd be today (the remaining days are for working on their final projects, and taking one last vocab quiz and one last practice test), but it really sunk in when we wrapped up and I said we'd covered the whole AP curriculum (and then some). There was a collective "whoa," and a few smiles and nods of accomplishment.
After school, we had a faculty meeting. The Principal went over the expectations for remote learning (which we'll transition to after we have three snow days, if necessary), gave some updates about next year's budget, and then sent us off to various locations to meet in our advisory groups. Ninth grade advisors met in my classroom, so I ducked out quickly to get up there and get set up. Mr. N's reaction to that was to call me a wizard, which is COMPLETELY ACCURATE.
Heh.
We set our agenda for our PLC meeting on Thursday, and then- much like our students had been doing all day- talked about whether or now we're going to have school tomorrow. I said I wouldn't mind a snow day, or a delay, but I would mind having to drive into work in messy weather because I'm an awful driver. All my colleagues know this except the new ones. It got a laugh out of Mr. C, which- if you've been following along at home- is always a goal of mine. Life is better when folks think I'm funny!

someone asked for my interpretations of the characters prismo and scarab wouldve made at the end of fionna and cake,
so here we have Sīdus the Fallen star and The Carmine Cavalier (also regarded as Carma (like karma))
im proud of scarabs character name simply cause cavalier used as an adjective can mean someone who doesnt care for others. also really proud of his sickle thing- its like the mandibles of a beetle but it acts like a guiding weapon rather than attacking, so he can just hook people and completely displace their movements but it can also be used for punching like brass knuckles

listen I expected literally Nothing from the D&D movie okay, like I can't make it clear enough that I expected the most soulless money grab with a good cgi budget imaginable, I went in having already gone through every stage of grief and landed on acceptance and LISTEN
I fucking CRIED during this dumb RPG movie. it wasn't just "not terrible" it was objectively good with a clever plot and compelling characters and sincere emotional beats. this movie loves D&D so fucking much and it NAILS the "a bunch of goobers try to be cool and accidentally discover The Power Of Friendship And Also Great Violence" classic D&D party vibe. their barbarian's last name is fucking Kilgore and my entire family cried in the theater.
I hope they make twelve of these motherfuckers.

Day Twenty-Seven
If you've been reading what I write long enough, you'll know that I'm very serious about my job, but I'm also a giant goofball, and I like making people laugh.
Current target: Mr. C, the new English teacher.
English and social studies classrooms are in the same wing of the building, so he's usually at his door when I swing through the hall to see my people before the morning bell. Today he got to witness all the loud and gleeful discourse about how we teach unprecedented historical events (VERY CAREFULLY). Naturally, I was going on about how fun it is to be the only APGOV teacher around here, it's totally not any pressure at all, no big deal even when we're in uncharted political territory because I'm a freakin' wizard who can do anything.
That earned me a chuckle.
Tumblr media
In all seriousness, it IS fun to be the only APGOV teacher even if there is pressure that comes with that. And it was pretty epic to start APGOV by watching some news highlights and discussing the situation in the House of Representatives before returning to our regularly planned lesson (which was about how to write FRQs, and they picked that up super fast).
Global Studies was less epic since students were still drafting projects, or maybe I should say it was epic in a different way. This is their first major assessment, and they're doing really well. I spent a lot of time during each section giving feedback, so I got to take a close look at several students' work, and it's excellent. Drafts are due at the end of class tomorrow if I haven't seen them yet, then students will have a bit of a fall break (early release day, teacher workshop day, long weekend for the holiday), and they'll revise when they come back. How's that for solid timing on a unit plan??
Oh, and a funny thing to end this entry with: the student day ends at 2:20 here, so if you're wondering if it was ridiculous and funny when the emergency alert went off on every single phone just before the afternoon bell, can confirm. It definitely was. Thankfully, The Principal had gotten on the PA a couple minutes earlier to remind students it was going to happen, so it didn't freak anybody out.
Know who reminded him to do that? I did!
