imagine that you're having one of those nights. those nights where you've been bottling everything up even though you didn't mean to, even though you've been trying not to-- and you just can't stop crying. you don't even know what's wrong anymore. you don't know what you're upset about, only that you're upset and sad and hurting.

copia will hold your hand. it's warm in yours and radiating with gentleness as he lets you cling. he's sitting on the bed and you're curled around him as you cry. your head resting on his thigh and turned in hide against it. his pants are wet with tears and snot by now but he doesn't mind.

he's soft tones and quiet murmurs as you let it all out and you can feel yourself trying to stop yourself from feeling. each time you feel your crying stop abruptly, copia will gently squeeze your hand and remind you that it's okay to cry. and so you do until it's all out.

it could take a few minutes or a few hours, it doesn't matter. he sits with you and loves you regardless. he'll grab a box of tissues and a glass of water for you. he'll even help you drink by holding the cup for you if you're having trouble doing it yourself.

he brings a soft wet towel to help you wipe your face and kisses above each puffy eye. he tells you how proud he is of you. how you're doing good and while it doesn't feel like it, you're healing.

he will promise to be with you every step of the way, and you know he will. before you both drift off to sleep, he asks what he can do to help tomorrow be a good day. to be more bearable. you tell him you don't know and he asks if you would like him to make breakfast and you quietly nod. he tells you that he'll make your favorite and you manage a soft thank you. words are still hard but that's okay. he tells you he will protect you while you sleep so you can rest easy.
