Someone posted ref pics of Tang Xuan and, like, I just now realised the dude has an extra set of sleeves hanging around his waist.

While I can understand, logically, that this is a hyper-futuristic fashion aesthetic game and everyone has some pretty wild outfits, I also can't help but draw a connection to Li Ling.

Ignoring fashion choices for a hot second, the jacket is clearly too large on Tang Xuan (check the hoodie and extra length past his torso) and the belt seems to be one (1) long belt wrapped twice around him OR at least two (2) belts connected to each other tightened around him.

For Li Ling, notice his pants? The style specifically, baggy, with a bunch of excess belts hanging around? Also notice his complete lack of any sort of cloth on his upper torso and those four extra arms?? Yes, we all know where this is going... I'm not saying Tang Xuan (probably) stole one of Li Ling's jackets nor am I saying that Li Ling forewent his modesty in order to cover up Tang Xuan's (Side Note: has anyone noticed how tight his body suit (?) is on his body?? It's, like, painted on. His bulge is so defined and I swear in some of his poses/angles the graphics team actually made impressions of his damn nipples). What I AM saying is there is definitely some kind of connection and I'm 👀👀👀

Looking at the wiki, the official art of the two depicts the jacket as even larger on Tang Xuan AND makes Li Ling's extra arms look more proportionate to his body.

Please dni if you're just gonna be a Debbie downer. This isn't a "look, guys, they're canon!" moment (I specifically made this as platonic sounding as I could), it's simply some fun speculation between the two. I'm aware that the chances of these two being an actual couple, canon-wise, is slim to probably never gonna happen, due especially to where lillithgames is headquartered,

But

I also would like to mention that, until very recently before they got closer to the official release date, Tang Xuan was a girl which would've made any romantic relationship with Li Ling good to go...

Either way, make do with this seed for thought as you desire. I, for one, think it is intentionally designed to link the two, romantically ✌🏽

Something that bothers me about the untamed is how politically unrealistic it is. In the later half of the show none of the sect leaders have married or had kids???? That's crap and not how any of that would work. I mean if JC doesn't procreate that leaves Jin Ling as the sole heir to both Jin and Jiang Clans and no way would anyone allow him to rule both

But given that that's how it is set up...I propose a solution that could technically work! Jin Ling obviously gets the Jin Clan. NHS will have to marry and procreate since he has 0 family members. Those are easy

The Jiang Clan is screwed because JC is an angry ace who really couldn't be bothered to deal with courting or marriage. His only sister had one child who is already leading another sect and so can't inherit the Jiang. BUT WAIT! JC has a brother! Who has a son! Both adopted but hey when you're desperate...

So JC would have to officially recognize WWX as his brother and officially recognize Sizhui as his son but those are formalities and then JC and the Jiang would finally have an heir! (Aside from the part where canon set this up as legit the only option I love the idea of Lan "perfect Lan" "actually a Wen" Sizhui inheriting the Jiang)

Except where does that leave the Lan sect?? Because the last members of the main family are gay af and won't have their own kids and now the adopted son of one of them (the only child between the two of them) is heir to another sect. Which leaves them with the option of either LWJ or LXC adopting a child to be the heir or the Lan clan accepting a branch family member/(distant) cousin to be the heir instead. Which, after the war and the attack on Cloud Recesses, leaves them with...Lan Jingyi.

So based on the fact that none of the heroes of the Sunshot Campaign had kids (and are all too gay to bother) the future of the cultivation world will rest in the hands of:

A Nie clan led by a child borne of and raised by NHS

A Jin clan led by a man raised by Jiang Cheng

A Jiang clan led by a member of the family that destroyed it/the perfect Lan/the son of the perfect embodiment of the Jiang motto

A Lan clan led by the un-Lanest Lan.

So just days before the Shiguang Dailiren/Link Click season 2 premier, I caved into pressure and managed to watch and finish all of s1.

First of all. Pain.

Secondly, I have Theories that I must get out before s2 comes out as a measure of coping and possible deluding myself. There will be big spoilers so I'm just gonna put it under a cut.

So far, I have three-ish theories that could possibly be canon-compliant. But note that I have only watched s1 once and in the sub (which, had some odd subtitles, I won't lie, but I don't know any Chinese so that'll have to make do) and might have missed something key.

Anyway, my most hopeful theory among these three that says a happy ending is possible is the theory that these events happened when someone messed with the nodes of time. Specifically when Cheng Xiaoshi caused Emma's death and then tried to save her. By that I mean that Emma was not supposed to die, not at that point in time, anyway, and that perhaps the possessor manifested when he once again tried to change the node of her death. It doesn't have to be that the possessor was created upon that attempt to reverse her death either, just all the events following Emma's death were not meant to be. By inadvertently leading Emma to her doom, Cheng Xiaoshi changed a node of time, so the only thing that could fix it would be if he goes back again to that time period somehow and stops Emma from responding to those texts from her mum. If he manages to fix the initial change that caused all those murders (and Lu Guang's demise *cue me weeping*), then it could be that the possessor either never existed (where were they before these happenings, anyway?) or that at least everything doesn't explode so tragically.

Buuuuut, as much as I want that to happen...we did in a sense see Cheng Xiaoshi take the "let's try and stop Emma's death" route, and I think they just might take the Lu Guang dies permanently path, which is my second theory-ish which ties into the third.

In s1, Cheng Xiaoshi was blind to the death he caused and almost succeeded in saving Emma...and failed. So if s2 follows that pattern, he'll either almost succeed in saving one of his best friends and then fail right at the end (maybe it will be bittersweet where Lu Guang tells him to let go, that it's all right, and at least the narrative will let the boy have a say in his death). OR that, because he's coming in with eyes wide open (to the deaths he caused, to the possessor's existence, to the real consequences of messing with the time stream), he'll almost fail and then succeed saving Lu Guang in the 11th hour.

That said, manifesting a happy ending for our trio because haven't they been through enough??

I reblogged that “which moment from the untamed is the most tragic” from someone who said Jin Zixuan because that’s the moment where it’s clear there’s no coming back from this, and I said I agree that’s exactly what I was going to say, and so far two people have reblogged from me also being like “yeah it’s the death of Jin Zixuan”

Considering that option is only at 11% right now I’m kind of impressed that we’ve all managed to create a little pocket of fandom that’s so ~*~objectively correct~*~ lol
