“Kanato, ya can’t just appear out of nowhere like that. I nearly had a heart attack ya know.” He grumbles, rubbing the back of his head. “I swear. Make a noise or somethin’. Step on a twig if ya got to.” But despite his grumblings, he is happy to see the vampire again. It had been sometime since they had spoken, so his usual angry disposition is softened and he’s a lot less guarded than usually. “I got brought ya a candy. It’s supposed to be cinnamon flavored. If ya like that.” He tosses the small bag his way.

@hysterickanxto​ asked: "Teddy gave me an idea. Teddy thought you would like someone like him too so we went and got you a friend." Kanato turns to face a dark red bear with white paws and feet, the inside of the ears were white as well and the bear had round glasses as well. - for Kabuto

Kabuto reaches out, carefully cradling the plush bear in his arms. It might have been unintentional on Kanato’s part (on Teddy’s as well), but a memory resurfaces. He remembers the first thing he’d ever purchased with his orphanage allowance: a stuffed rabbit, whom he’d called Usagi. (For if he could be named after the helmet his new family had given him, why not give his new toy a similarly fitting name? - such had been his younger self’s rationale.)

He keeps her hidden away, now - but sometimes, when everything is too much, he pulls the worn doll from her hiding place for a hug. 

Such surprised, but comforted, silence is soon transformed into vocalized gratitude, and Kabuto offers a warm smile. “Thank you so much - Kanato, Teddy. Her glasses look just like mine ... And, you know, the color of her fur reminds me of red velvet cake, with white accents for frosting! That means I’ll definitely think of you two every time I look at her ~ ... Hey, maybe that’s a good name? Velvet?”

       when the rum tum tugger discovered something new, there was no doubt that his innate curiosity and need to know and understand everything going on around him would lead him to explore. of course, cats in the neighbourhood had told him --- nobody goes NEAR that human abode - no cat nor human, and the ones who did.. did not come out again. 

     of course he needed to investigate! ----- jumping up onto the wall of the large home, tugger tilted his head, lifting one ear up to listen to anything suspicious. upon recieving nothing, the maine coon decided to take his chances --- and he jumped down into the garden, observing the area with thinly veiled interest. 

           this didn’t seem so SCARY.

Just to see if the papers got here safely.. whatever that means…..”  Kanato smiled at him from behind Teddy. “But now I smell something inhuman and you have my full attention!” 

The paperwork had arrived as intended, and was currently laying on Ciel’s desk in his office. It was curious to find that Earl Sakamaki had sent his own son to check after it. Did he not trust couriers? Or was the brat too big of a hassle to have around, and was therefore sent to perform menial tasks? 

On top of that, the younger lord Sakamaki seemed almost old enough to overtake, at least partially, his father’s business, yet he was still standing there with a teddybear in his arms. He was aware of this particular family’s strange reputation, but as a Phantomhive Ciel had little room to judge. 

However, both the bear and the following statement offered a possible answer to Ciel’s questions. The young lord was a little slow in the head, left behind, so to speak. 

“You have a sharp sense of smell, lord Sakamaki,” Ciel replied. “Perhaps it is deer you smell. My cook is preparing dinner, although I must admit I cannot smell a thing. Do you wish to see your father’s letters with your own eyes?

The same semi-squinted eyes and tilt of his head as he had come out of a store, a few bags filled with fresh clothes, mostly t-shirts and pants. "I still got plenty though. I think I'll be okay."

“…Something’s burning.” (and he definitely started the fire)

“Huh? Something’s….burning…?” The statement caught her off guard. It took her a moment to catch the scent of the burning. “SOMETHING’S BURNING!” Quickly she shot up, heading to the source of the smoke that begun to waft into the room. It lead her to the living room, the curtains up in flames. 

I need to get the fire extinguisher.

“How did this happen?” Hurrying to the kitchen, searching every where for a fire extinguisher.
