Private Eyes [S.H.]
Pairing: Steve Harrington x fem!Reader, platonic Robin x Reader & Robin x Steve Word Count: 2.1k Summary: You get a little protective (not jealous) when one of King Steve's old friends keeps coming around Family Video. Robin and reader are both protective of their boy. 😊 There are no mentions of reader's physical features. No spoilers. Requested. Masterlist.
Tumblr media
You were passing a stack of VHS tapes across the counter to a customer when the bell on top of the door rang, signaling that someone new was coming in.
“Welcome to Family Video!” Robin called out, her voice raising in your direction before she sidled up next to you and gently elbowed you in the side.” She whispered in your ear. “She’s back.”
By the time your customer left and you were able to look toward the door, Nicole had already made her way over to Steve. He was restocking while you were on counter duty and Robin was helping customers on the floor. It was a straight shot from the door to Steve before either of you could intervene.
Or even try to.
Nicole was quick.
“Shit. Should’ve let him have the counter.”
“You lost rock, paper, scissors,” Robin reminded you.
“How many times this week has she been in again?”
Robin lifted three fingers before heading over to the customer who walked in after the redhead in question while you moved across the counter to try to hear Steve’s conversation.
You didn’t make it a habit of listening in on everyone’s conversation on a regular basis, but you were unsure about the woman.
You were being a good friend by eavesdropping, you assured yourself.
A protective friend.
If it was anyone else, you would have tried to ignore it. It was just that Nicole was friends with Tommy and Carol and King Steve back in high school and she had been coming around the last few weeks to do this odd flirty thing with him. That entire group had dropped Steve during junior year, or rather he had dropped them and they had taken to treating him like the scum of the earth in return, and she suddenly showed up two years later like everything was hunky-dory?
Not on your watch.
Well, not on Robin’s watch.
Your other co-worker/friend was the one who originally brought your attention to the entire situation because, frankly, watching Steve flirt with every female who came into Family Video had gotten old real fast. You now had a new found talent for ignoring his voice whenever a girl was attached to his side.
It was torture to hear him make other girls laugh the same way he made you laugh, sometimes with the exact jokes he’d told you a few hours before. Even when they left without accepting a date with him, you couldn’t deny the sting of feeling like you were a Guinea pig for his flirting.
When did you become enamored with Steve Harrington? You weren’t sure. The day you met as adults outside of high school? That was the day you discovered he was nothing like his high school persona had led you to believe.
But you weren’t jealous.
There was just something downright suspicious about Nicole.
She seemed nice on the surface, but she still possessed the same judgmental look in her eyes that she had in high school. Usually that was toward you and Robin whereas she was all sugary sweet with Steve.
You were both wary of her intentions.
“We’re going to go to Indianapolis for the holiday and Tommy booked the nicest hotel they have. Two rooms. I really don’t want to stay by myself in, you know, a big city.” The pout on her lips could practically be heard. “Why don’t you come with us, Steve?”
Robin’s head snapped up and she met your eyes across the store. Her blue eyes wide with a blend of amusement and disgust on her face.
Nicole was good.
“Gross,” she mouthed before moving her hands toward you in a shooing motion.
You sighed heavily and left your post to walk closer to Steve and his ex-friend, stopping at a perfectly organized display in an attempt to look discreet as you closed in on them.
“Yeah, I mean, Indianapolis sounds like a cool getaway for the weekend, but you see -“
Steve raised a hand to the back of his neck.
“Are you always so busy, Stevie?”
Stevie?
Robin audibly gagged, but you ignored her in lieu of approaching the pair.
“Um, Steve?” You cringed at the level of your voice. Far too quiet for a simple coworker exchange. Clearing your throat, you tried again. “Can you help me in the back?”
“We’re making plans for the weekend.” Nicole sneered.
“Actually, Nicole,” he started, but you couldn’t take it any longer. At this rate, Robin wouldn’t be the only one to get violently ill on the already filthy Family Video carpet if Steve actually accepted Nicole’s offer of a weekend getaway.
You’d all be fired if that happened, so, really, you were saving your jobs by interfering.
“Steve,” you repeated, voice firm.
He met your eyes over Nicole’s shoulder.
“Yeah?”
“The back? I need help. New, uh, new shipment.”
He clearly didn’t believe it, his face twisting in confusion, but he stepped around Nicole anyway, coming to a stop in front of you. You inwardly relaxed at having his attention away from Nicole.
Okay, maybe you were a little jealous.
“We got a shipment yesterday. You did the inventory.”
Lying was clearly not your strong suit or maybe it was just hard to lie to Steve.
You stalled.
Your silence was long enough for Nicole to step forward and grab his arm with both hands, sending him the most perfected set of puppy dog eyes you’d ever seen. Thankfully he was still looking at you in confusion and missed them.
“Since you clearly can’t do your job and don’t need his help, we have plans to make.”
At the sound of her voice, Steve’s head snapped in Nicole’s direction.
“That’s not true.” He pulled his arm out of her grasp and took a step away from her to stand next to you. “She’d be employee of the month all the time if Keith didn’t just give it to himself.”
The confidence in his voice faded off near the end of his statement, but you still felt yourself flush at his words. It was always nice to be on the receiving end of Steve’s appreciation. It gave you a reason to believe, even if it was unlikely to be true, that he returned some of your feelings.
Steve sighed and brought a hand up to rub between his eyebrows.
You watched on as he spoke to the other woman.
“By the way, I’ve been trying to be cool with you coming here, but I wasn’t making plans with you. I have no interest in going to Indianapolis with you or spending any of my time around Tommy or Carol.”
It was Nicole’s turn to flush at Steve’s words, her cheeks turning a soft shade of pink. She rolled her eyes and it was obvious by the way she couldn’t actually make eye contact with him anymore that she was trying to save face.
“Bite me.” She gritted out the words.
“Hey! I don’t think you should come here anymore.”
Steve’s hands were on his hips and you had to stifle a laugh at the scene in front of you. You truly hadn’t meant to start that, but you couldn’t deny that you were relieved.
Nicole stomped toward the door as you both turned to watch her retreat.
“Ding-dong! The witch is dead!” Robin sang out once the door was firmly shut and the redhead made it to her car.
“Rob!” You halfheartedly tried to chastise her, but it fell flat when you let out a soft laugh.
“What?”
“Hanging out with Tommy and Carol when they’re constantly all over each other probably gets annoying and lonely.” You tried.
“She’s always been a little in love with both of them,” Steve said behind you and you turned to see his unbothered shrug.
He moved over to the counter without another word and busied himself by working on a stack of movies that had been returned earlier in the day, popping one out of its case and checking if it was rewound all the way. You watched him place it in the rewinder and push the button. It clicked into place and you moved over as he waited.
“Hey, Steve?” You spoke up quietly and leaned against the counter, getting lost in watching him remove the tape before repeating the action with the next one.
It was silent until you realized he wasn’t moving. You slowly moved your eyes from his hands up to his face.
“What?”
“I didn’t say anything,” he replied, smirk fully in place on his lips.
“Oh. I was going to say something, right?”
“Yeah, I think so.” He nodded, but who could focus when he was looking like that, like he could tell exactly what was going on in your head. Damn hands. “We didn’t really get a new shipment, did we?”
He turned back to the stack of tapes and your eyes grew wide. Robin giggled behind you and it took a lot of inner strength not to run away from both of them at that moment. It was all playful, of course, but you were suddenly feeling a little attacked by the best friends.
“Well, no,” you said, twisting the bottom of one side of the Family Video uniform vest between your fingers. “I was trying to rescue you from Nicole. It was Robin’s idea.”
“That is unequivocally false.”
You both ignored her.
“I appreciate it, honestly, but did you really think I was going to agree to go out with her?” His question was directed toward both you and Robin.
“It’s not like you’ve been going on any dates lately,” Robin answered.
Steve sent her a glare before speaking. “For your information, Buckley, that is because I haven’t been asking anyone out. I’m interested in someone and I was waiting for them to send me some clearer signals, okay?”
“No need to be so defensive.” Robin threw her hands up and the two stared at each other in what appeared to be a silent conversation before Robin walked to the break room door where she slipped in without another word.
Steve’s attention turned back to you.
“I hope everything works out with them,” you said.
“What?”  “The person you like? I hope it works out with them. Maybe now that you don’t have to deal with Nicole anymore, you’ll have more time to figure them out. Unless she tells Tommy and Carol everything and they come up here and we have to have a brawl outside in the parking lot.”
You were rambling. It was actually an amusing image, but Steve didn’t seem to think so considering he was just staring at you with a furrowed brow.
He shook his head.
“Are you doing anything Saturday night? I have the night off and I saw that you did, too.”
You nodded slowly as you tried to digest his question along with his earlier words. Imagined him checking the calendar in the break room to make sure you were both free that night. Wait - was he trying to ask you… was he asking you out?
“I’m not busy,” you said softly, eyes wide as you looked at him.
“Then I would really like to take you out, if you’re interested. I didn’t want there to be any tension here if you didn’t feel the same, but I think practically forcing Nicole out of here was a pretty solid sign.”
You let out a laugh and relaxed.
“To be fair, you’re the one who told her she shouldn’t come here anymore.”
“I just asked you out and admitted that I have feelings for you and you want to argue about who sent her out of here? Are you serious?”
“Communication is everything,” you said teasingly, catching his amused eyes with delight shining in your own. “I would love to go out with you on Saturday night, Steve.”
Steve leaned across the counter and you did the same from the front, hands pressed against each other before he took one of yours in his. His hand was warm and firm against your own, the skin of his palm soft. He played with your fingers and you followed the movement as he spoke. “If you’re not tired of movies, we could go to the drive-in.” “It sounds like you’re trying to park with me.”
He slotted his fingers between yours and squeezed.
“Or - or we could go to the roller rink where there are tons of people around. But I may lose you on the rink.”
“Not if you hold my hand like this,” you said, tilting your head down where they lay against the counter. “I don’t mind where we go. The drive-in sounds nice. Being alone would be great.”
“We can go to the drive-in this weekend and the roller rink next time?”
“Next time? How much have you planned?”
“Everything,” he whispered as you met his eyes. “I was just waiting on you.”

galahadsrpboy (Ariel/Tim)
@galahadsrpboy continued from (x)
Ariel and Tim had met through work. Ariel had needed back up dancers for one of his concerts and they had been bad. Tim had come in and whipped them into shape and Ariel had been impressed by both the mans skills and his body. He had been visiting him ever since. Ariel stripped and walked in. “were you expecting me or just hoping that it would be someone who’d join you in the shower?” he asked leaning against the sink naked.
Tumblr media
Tim grinned a little as he turned just a bit to see Ariel, the sight of the muscular redhead always put a smile on his face but that smile was extra big whenever the hunky man was naked "Both actually... I've been hoping you'd come in here sometime while I was getting cleaned up" he playfully gestured to Ariel's cock "And look, you brought something I can hang a towel on... how generous" he gave his partner a flirty little smile, leaning back against the wall of the shower and just fondling himself a little "You know, it's so much nicer under this shower head... maybe you should get that ass of yours in here, help me clean my back... or make it dirty"

kghn // omegaverse
omega tobio who gets hit on constantly because they think he's an alpha with his physique. he turns them down by saying he's an omega—an answer met with doubts.
"no omega is this hunky", a girl says, her fingers outlining tobio's clothed chest that made him shiver in disgust.
but tobio was too polite to swat her hand away, so he opts for a warning instead. "please don't touch me, my alpha will get mad."
the girl snickers, still clearly not believing him but decided to play along. "oh yeah? and where is this 'alpha' of yours?"
tobio points to a group of people seated at a booth in the restaurant. the girl turns to look, and she sees a tall, blonde man with glasses who was also quite handsome.
she turns back to tobio. "well, why don't you and your blonde alpha friend come with me and play?"
tobio's brows furrow. blonde? his alpha was /not/ blonde. the description sinks in and tobio realizes. did she think—? tobio fights the urge to make a face. hell would have to freeze over before he even considers being mated to that alpha.
he shakes his head at her, but before he could shoot the assumption down, an arm snakes around his waist and pulls him close to an all-familiar body. immediately tobio's hit with the scent of honey and citrus, and his nerves calm down.
"is something wrong?" his alpha asks.
the girl sees a short, tan redhead next to the tall ravenette.
"oh, you must be his friend," she says, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "i was hoping i could borrow him for a while, for a date."
shoyo looks up at him, eyes wide. "a date?"
tobio could feel a drop of sweat trickle down the side of his face. he just wants to end this already, but shoyo being shoyo, he can't help pull the dramatics.
 the girl nods. "yeah..."
"is that so..." shoyo hums, and tobio has to fight his eye roll.
shoyo's so bad at acting. deep down he knew the alpha was amused.
"well okay!" shoyo exclaims, removing his arm around tobio that made the omega upset.
the girl's eyes sparkled in delight. "really?!"
shoyo grins. "of course! i'm not against my omega having more friends!"
tobio could feel a drop of sweat trickle down the side of his face. he just wants to end this already, but shoyo being shoyo, he can't help pull the dramatics.
the girl's smile falters. "y-your omega—?"
"but you have to bring him back to me soon, okay? or else i'll miss him so much." shoyo turns to tobio and starts rubbing his scent gland around his neck.
"sho, what the heck are you doing?" tobio whispers.
"just a little parting gift for my lovely mate", the alpha grins mischievously. "speaking of mate..."
he pulls on the collar of tobio's shirt and exposes the mating mark in full view. the girl's eyes widen when shoyo starts rubbing on it and tobio subconsciously purrs.
"oops, it's starting to fade. we'll have to take care of that on your next heat." the alpha says loud enough, smirking as he side eyes the girl who flushed in embarrassment.
"i—i have to go." the two watched as the girl left the restaurant in a hurry.
tobio smacks shoyo upside his head. "dumbass, you didn't have to go that far. you could've told her you were my alpha from the start."
"aww come on, where's the fun in that?" shoyo was laughing as he rubs his head. "and do you really think she'll believe i'm an alpha? get real!"
"but i believed in you."
"yeah 'cause you're weird!" shoyo hooks his arm back around  his waist, a gesture that makes the omega feel secured. "but that's how i know you're my destined one."
shoyo grins at him and tobio averts his eyes away, a small blush creeping on his cheeks.
"you're so corny."
 "but you love it, right?"
 "shut up."
they go back to their table and were showered with complaints and questions with why they took so long. shoyo exclaims that his boyfriend is so popular, and tobio flicks his forehead for it, but there's a small smile on his face as his hand makes its way to shoyo.

for @carlosreyeswrites continued from here
Lyndon was so done dating boys. Immature, dull boys that were useless boyfriends and barely knew how to satisfy themselves let alone someone else. Lyndon had decided older men were what he wanted and who says he couldn't get them looking the way he did? He'd assumed he'd have some older, rich gentlemen by this point that would of caught his eye...but apparently his taste had gone in a different direction. Older definitely, but less of the refined academic type and more of the hunky, works with his hands type. A firefighter of all things and truth be told the thrill of all of this was so much better than anything he'd had with his ex Jackson.
That's how Lyndon found himself dragged into a firetruck, manhandled in a way the young redhead wasn't used to. Feeling those strong hands all over him, trying to boss him around. Just feeling the heavy weight of that muscular body on top of him, pinning him in place no matter how much he moved. The danger of being caught, but more than that...it was how he was being treated. His ass slapped, his throat squeezed as if remining Lyndon who had all the power here...it was new, it was dangerous and it was addicting.
"Now what part of me made you think that I would just behave on command?" He retorted, trying to ignore the way his body reacted to the phrase 'good boy'. "You're going to have to do better than that if you want me to behave and...obey" He hummed, eyes fluttering. "Besides, I think part of you wants your fellow fighters to catch us...the idea of showing me off thrills you doesn't it?"

So Fuse TV has been showing three-hour blocks of Buffy lately, much to my delight.  But after today's block ("Teacher's Pet", "Never Kill a Boy on the First Date", and "The Pack"), I can't believe people were out here showing their whole ass with the NERVE to say Buffy was the show's worst character, when Xander was right there.   He's passive aggressive.  He's possessive.  The epitome of the fake "nice guy."  His bad behavior is shrugged off because of monster of the week reasons (Fandom decries any attempt to make Spike a good guy after the events in "Seeing Red" [a debate for another post], but everything Xander said and tried to do to Buffy "The Pack" was totally hunky dory because "Hurr Durr Hyenas?"). Meanwhile Buffy is actively saving the day and trying to live her life while forgiving her friend for his shitty behavior.   (Including, but not limited to trying to throw off Buffy's date with another dude by both insisting Buffy wear a parka, and saying that red lipstick will make her look like a whore, AND telling the dude that Buffy doesn't like to be kissed or touched?)  I have even less sympathy for all his whining about being single when he didn't have to be.  Buffy may not have noticed you, dude, but Willow is there and wants a piece.  Hello, hot redhead is into you, you idiot - even though you don't deserve her, either.   (And this isn't even touching the Joss Whedon of it all. The entire time, Joss Whedon was saying that Xander was the character he was most like.  Maya Angelou had it right - when someone tells you who they are, you should listen.)

Rants!
Natsuo/Shigaraki:
(1) its not so rare now with 553 fics on ao3, but i was there when there was only THREE and i was in paon. Just natsou bandaging up tomura, helping him defeat his dad, DOES HE KNOW ABOUT TOUYA/DABI or NOT?? Just sooo many possibilities, plus at its core, its twink (and dumb) gamerboy/hunky (and smart) jock. . . I just love it.
(2) they totally would have met through minecraft discord servers
Yowamushi pedal and wind breaker high school bicycle racing club polycules alliance:
yowamushi pedal: so you've got ur first years triad; the chaotic redhead, the cinnamon roll, the calculating grump who's probably sportssexual, right, and they're besties and rivals.
THEN you have the other members of the Onoda fanclub, too!
And you can't forget whatever Makishima's got with his three boyfriends...
Wind breaker: I just think. The boys of the hummingbird crew. Are kinda like... 👀
They all sleep at Vinny's house... Dom's LITERALLY slapped Vinny's ass before (they slept next to each other??)... Jay wakes up early and wears a cute apron and cooks breakfast... Vinny makes the best ramen... Jay wore Vinny's jacket... Minu is like the glue that holds them all together and had been staying with Jay and was PRETTY BOYFRIENDY OK and I mean . The parallels between jay and Minu and Vinny OUGH
Mostly. I had just shipped Jay and Minu and then we got more development for Vinny and I LOVE HIM and they're all guy gal pals in my heart. These boys are girlfriends
I should probably take a break from the internet. But I won't.
I literally binge read (and am currently reading) the wind breaker webtoon like last night, so idk if they're rare, but! I put up a poll for it, and y'all agreed to let me get away with it <3

(as a sucker for red heads and looking respectfully i am very intrigued by your character so may i ask you to talk about what you like about him and his character as the mun so i may rise the temptation to attempt indulge further?)
Tumblr media
send me questions you have about my character
oh boy, this is a super loaded question because i could talk about mithra for daaaaaays... he's probably one of my ultimate favorite characters of all time as of late... i'll put this under a readmore just for the sake of everyone's dash, because this feels like this could get pretty long!! LOL;;
i think what really drew me to mithra at first was his design- i'm someone who plays a lot of gacha games and is pretty well-versed in joseimuke/otome games, and characters in those tend to be... well, not super diverse design-wise. so i was surprised: mithra, who had black painted nails, and stitches/scars covering his body, and deep eyebags, was totally unlike the usual 'prettyboy' archetype that joseimuke games try to fill their rosters with!!
when it came to his personality, the game really makes it clear his flaws: he's not very smart. he's extremely violent and quick to irritation. he's as selfish as they come and only thinks about moving about in the world on his own terms. i really love crazy megalomaniacal guys like this!! it makes me want to go "wtf is wrong with you i love you" LOL;;
but i think besides his appearance and his nasty personality, what really was the hook-line-and-sinker for my mithra adoration was how the game wrote him and explained those flaws: mithra isn't very smart because he lived in near isolation and oppression for thousands of years. he's violent and quick to irritation because he grew up having to kill- other people, other wizards, strong beasts- in self-defence almost every day. he's selfish but he has his clear vulnerabilities, namely the loyalty he has to his sister/mother/mentor figure and her two children.
additionally, i'm a sucker for characters who have this insane charged rivalry which im sure as a chuuya roleplayer you cant understand at all noooooo and mithra's is with another character named oz- the strongest wizard in the world, who mithra wants to surpass. both of these characters- mithra and oz- are socially isolated, inept and selfish but have to learn how to deal with suddenly caring for children, and i find their parallels in their character arcs FASCINATING. i could write a million posts all about mithra and oz on their own
mithra's entire character is "what if the cartoon disney villain who could destroy the world at a snap of his fingers was a sleepy himbo who was really just struggling with understanding his own isolation and loneliness, and also he just like, eats rocks sometimes"
(plus, despite him not being a very popular character in the western fandom, he's the yumebait option in the east, meaning he's pretty much THE popular ship character with the main character of the game he's from. ultimate weirdboyfriend)
this is already getting so long, but that's basically the tl;dr: i find him a fascinating character with a really interesting design in a genre (joseimuke/otome) that really makes him stand out compared to the usual genre typicals. plus, he's a beautiful hunky redhead goth boy. what's not to love

Been procrastinating on Picrew while I should be doing other things, making paper dolls of various TES:V OCs. I never play through all of the faction quests with the same character, so I end up with a whole stable of different characters who go on to join and/or become the heads of each faction (and who may or may not exist in the same timeline). From left to right:
Thieves Guild - Maja (Nord/Imperial), Riften native, plucky street urchin, co-head of the Thieves Guild in Skyrim. Likes: redheads, fine clothes. Dislikes: people who are mean to kids, horseback riding.
Companions - Ulla (Nord), good-natured, strong-willed fighter. Grew up hearing stories of the Companions and eventually sets out of join the illustrious company. Likes: moonlit walks, big hammers, hunky werewolves. Dislikes: early mornings, cowards.
Dragonborn/Civil War - Gytha (Nord), itinerate huntress who gets thrown into a situation that is way, way over her head. Likes: snowberries, bareknuckle boxing. Dislikes: liars, coffee.
College of Winterhold - Koritha (Altmer), nerdy trust fund kid from Alinor who, much to her family's chagrin, turns down the chance to be an acolyte at the College of Sapiarchs and travels to the College of Winterhold instead. Likes: alchemy, cats. Dislikes: being cold, dried fish.
Bard’s College - Nephethys (Dunmer), aspiring bard who gets recruited into a Solitude spy ring. Likes: dancing, gold jewelry. Dislikes: Nord mead, love poetry.
Dark Brotherhood - Relie (Breton), vampiric assassin, wine connoisseur, Listener. Likes: dirty jokes, killing people in ironic ways. Dislikes: silver, guilt trips.

Nothing ruins an ocean view like a body on the beach! Plum Lockhart went out on a limb when she ditched her corporate job in New York City and moved to the Caribbean island of Paraiso. Now the head of her own villa broker agency, Plum spends her days chasing down clients and lounging on white sand beaches. But the sweet life turns sour when a publishing heiress is found dead at the mansion of an eccentric tycoon, Dieter Friedrich. Even worse, Plum's old colleague cashes in a favor and asks her to investigate. It looks like she'll need to fit a murder case into her already jam-packed schedule! Friedrich is known for his shady dealings, but he's not the only bad apple on the island—Plum will have to contend with a scheming millionaire, a sleazy rockstar, and devious B-list celebrities. And joining Plum once again is Juan Kevin Munoz, the distractingly gorgeous Director of Security. Despite the sparks between them, they'll need to stay focused on the case—there's a murderer hot on their heels! Dollycas's Thoughts Plum Lockhart took a big step leaving New York for Paraiso, a Caribbean island overflowing with tourists. Now she takes another big step by starting her own villa brokerage agency. In the midst of finding the perfect tenants for her clients, renovating villas, and trying to get in a little beach time she finds herself in the middle of another murder investigation. A young publishing heiress runs into a little trouble in paradise and an old employee from New York, someone she fired right before she was let go, Gerald Hand, begs Plum to help the girl, his new boss's daughter out of it. Plum does but then the next day she learns the heiress was found dead on the private beach of Dieter Friedrich, an eccentric fat cat with a crazy theme park-like estate with a group of bizarre friends and staff. Soon Gerald arrives on the island and moves into Plum's guest room to help her catch the killer. Gerald gets more caught up in island life while Plum deals with Dieter Friedrich, his employees, some B-List Celebrities, a rundown rockstar, and other assorted island residents as she works with the hunky Director of Hotel Security, Juan Kevin Munoz, to catch a killer before they become victims themselves. _____ Paraiso is a zany island if you live there, hopefully, the tourists can avoid all the drama. Feuds between families, jealousy, greed, lust, envy, heck all the seven deadly sins are apparent on this island of paradise. Sadly our protagonist, Plum, a tall redheaded American, gets caught up in it all as she tries to find her place and solve a murder. Her new friend Lucia, a small sixty-year-old grandma Paraison, accompanied her to start her own villa broker agency Plum Lockhart Luxury Retreats. Lucia knows everyone and the ways of the island. It will take both of them to make the business a success. I wasn't really a Plum fan when reading the 1st book in this series, It Takes Two to Mango, but I liked her much better in this book. She is still adjusting to island life but still has a lot of New York attitude to work through. It is Juan Kevin Munoz, the Security Director that I really enjoy. His laid-back way of life is just so comfortable. He grew up on the island so while he takes things like murder very seriously he understands how to handle danger on Paraiso. His interactions with Plum are filled with romantic tension and are very entertaining. He is doing his best to keep her safe while the murder investigation unfolds. He knows she can't keep her nose out of it and that knowledge is half the battle. Of course, having Gerald tagging along in his leather pants on a tropical island adds to the chaos but sometimes it is pretty darn funny. Yes, there are a bunch of secondary characters but they all have unique traits, good and bad. Some live on unique estates too. The author's descriptions really brought the people and places to life. Let me tell you, Dieter Friedrich has some outlandish tastes and weird things on his estate and I easily envisioned it all from her words. The mysteries are very well-plotted and Ms. Doyle sets a quick pace. There was a slew of suspects to work through and again Plum isn't always the best amateur sleuth, she needs to work a little more on her questioning and eavesdropping techniques but that just adds to the fun for readers. There were several twists and turns too but all the clues do come together setting up a very satisfying reveal. Something's Guava Give was a very amusing cozy mystery. Heavy on quirky characters but set on a delightful island paradise. The mystery was complicated and kept me guessing the whole way.  I am looking forward to reading The Girl With the Dragonfruit Tattoo soon.

axxmused (Chad/Marc)

axxmused:
“Me, a badass? Come on” Chad wasn’t one to blush often, or ever, he was too cool for that but after hearing those words? He couldn’t settle on where to look to avoid that embarassing feeling. “Maybe I am a badass.” He straightened his back to come off larger than he already was. It was so nice to be felt up again, questions and backstory aside, it took him back to before all of that had happened. “You’re not wrong there, I do trust you but also” He spoke through that peck on the lips, his fingers already hooked up Marc’s shirt. “I kinda wanna see what’s under here” Those were his first steps on showing his attraction to a man’s body, which was turning easier than he expected. He liked the redhead, a lot, Chad simply couldn’t help himself. He lifted up that shirt and tossed it away before his arms snaked around the other’s waist to pull him closer. He buried his face against his chest, lovingly kissing and teasing his skin.

“I promise you, not nearly as badass as what I found” Marc said softly with a playful little smile as he lifted his arms up just a little so it was easier to get his shirt off, flexing his pecs just a little when Chad pulled him close and he had that flawless face buried against them. He wrapped his arms around Chad, running his finger’s slowly and sensually along Chad’s back being careful to avoid the scars that he saw there. “God, you are just a fucking wall of muscle, aren’t you Chad?” he whispered in a low lustful moan, kissing the top of Chad’s head as he enjoyed the way that the other man was touching him. He knew a lot of this was so new to Chad and he was loving letting the man explore, getting to share this with someone so hunky and sweet was absolutely everything that Marc wanted “Hmm, you like that babe?” he whispered, flexing his pecs again “Maybe... hmm... maybe we need to move this somewhere with a little more room than your couch... somewhere easier to explore each other... and maybe with a few less items of clothing on” he whispered between pressing loving kissed against the top of Chad’s head, pulling back a little to look into those eyes “Wanna carry your boytoy to bed Chad?”
