Idk if someone has pointed this out already BUT I just realized that not only did Revenant most likely went and got his cowl/loincloth on his own but he also got himself those little bag things he wears on his waist

I really don’t believe anything Rev said in his story to Path about his first death. It was overly grandiose, and half the story was full of plot holes. He’s also an entirely unreliable narrator. I do believe he died in sewage, but I don’t believe it happened like that at all. Some big scary assassin who’s calculated and observant enough to be able to slip into a guarded safe house unnoticed didn’t notice that a man (who had no former stealth training) was IN HIS HOUSE??? How did the man even know Rev drank scotch at the end of the day??? How did the man know where Rev lived?? How did he even get IN Rev’s house??? I’m convinced Rev told this big elaborate story to scare Path, and try to hide the embarrassment of drowning in poop. Mf probably was chasing a mark through a sewage plant, took a hard right (you know that bitch can’t corner well), and skidded directly into sewage.

He would insult you, but like in a nice way, if that makes sense. Like "That shirt looks ugly on you, you should change it to something more nice, your face is nice to look at but your clothes aren't."

Definitely would not do PDA, but in private, you probably still wouldn't get much, but you could get a hug and a kiss from him if you are very lucky.

He's definitely a cat person, or I guess cat robot, so if you have a cat, you bet your ass he's gunna like it (unless it's a clingy cat) he thinks dogs are annoying and have to much energy. But his favorite animal is probably a hyena.

He feel would find little things like key chains and think of you. He'll then take it and give it to you. This is one of the nicest things he'll do for you.

If you're short and you need help getting something or if you're too weak to open it, he'll insult or comment on your height or strength (not in a mean way), but he will help you with what you need.

If you are on a team together in the apex games, he'll protect you at all costs, especially in duos. It's the best way he can show he cares.

If you cry because of someone else's doing, he will kill them once he figures it out who it is, and if you don't tell him, he'll find out somehow and still kill them.

No one knows this, but sometimes, he does have hard days. He wishes so hard to be human agian and knows he can't anymore, and sometimes it will fill him rage or sometimes sadness. He'll actually let you comfort him after some convincing.

If you go out in public, most likely because he'll scare people and he just doesn't want to go. But if there is a place he can go without scaring people off, then he sometimes will.

He's the type of person to be like, "I can insult you, but others can't." If someone insults you in front of him, they can say goodbye to life. The same goes for flirting.

If you are in the drop ship and you are tired, too tired to even tuck in yourself, he'll do it for you quickly so that nobody sees him do it. He'll still do it somewhat quickly at home, just not as fast if they were in the ship.

Hope you are ok with bickering, cause you'll have to deal with him and loba bickering all the time, and it will be annoying very quickly.

He is a very jealous robot. He will indeed fight anyone he is slightly jealous of whether they flirt or just talk to you normally, and they make you laugh. And if it's another legend, he'll tell them to back off if an ally and if they just so happen to be so unlucky to be on and opposite team he'll make sure he'll get to them first to kill them off.

SHADOW SOCIETY. What a joke.

Romanticizing the reality of the Syndicate. Clean suits and dirty hands. An underground world where corporate shook hands with killers. He had lived all that once.

Maybe that was why he'd felt compelled to dress up. It wasn't the first time, but the occasions Revenant had shown up to a red carpet Apex event were few and far between, and the occasions he had bothered to come dressed even more so. Tonight he was in BLACK: black suit, slacks, vest, shirt, tie.

But with a deep hood lined in GOLD, and other little gilded details like metal tips on the collar of his shirt. Modest gold cuff links. A short, delicate chain necklace. Golden soles on his shoes. The simulacrum's jump kit and pauldrons had been stripped to lend to a slim and far more human silhouette; his slacks, however, were fitted around his open inner thighs, exposing the metal and wiring there. That and the hood were the norm for ALL of Revenant's suits.

He had skipped the red carpet entrance and slipped silently into the event fashionably late. Now roved the room's borders in the dimmed, moody lighting of the space, PEOPLE-WATCHING, no doubt keeping an eye on the other Legends or otherwise scouting for an opportunity to make trouble. Sometimes Revenant's attendance went by without incident, seemingly without his having even uttered a word to anyone.

On at least a couple of occasions, though, he had picked a fight with one of the Legends. In another incident, there had been a CASUALTY.

Revenant rambles - potential fic worldbuilding? - canon typical violence

- Sometimes I wonder about fans of the Apex Legends in universe. Obviously there would be fangirls, fan blogs, etc etc, I wonder how Revenant specifically would feel about them? He does tend to be a bit vain and egotistical, but simultaneously has a strong distaste for others. I can easily imagine him hating the attention, believing it to be stupid and annoying, but also, maybe he’d like it? Knowing he has adoring fans supporting him and fawning over him would definitely be a power trip, but I’m just not sure if he’s all that egocentric.

- I know this has been said before but I’d love to expand on Revenant’s voice lines sometime, especially the ones where he says things like, “Smell that? First blood,” or “that’s the sweet aroma of fear,” or even the one where he straight up just sniffs? I’d love if the game itself would expand on that but for now I plan to implement it in future fics. Like, if he can smell fear and blood, who’s to say he can’t smell other things? Like stress, anger, sadness, etc.? It’d be a great tool for him, being able to tell what they’re feeling without being able to see their face or read their expressions. Pretending to be stoic wouldn’t work against him. He’d probably get really cocky about it, too, being able to read someone so easily.

- I thinks it’s really interesting how human Revenant still is. In his introduction trailer, one of the first things we see is him attempting to shave. He didn’t quite realize he wasn’t human anymore yet, but in terms of Revenant lore, realizing he isn’t human is a fairly recent revelation. Loba is 36, and her parents were attacked when she was 9, and if that really was the instant he realizes he’s not human, he’s only been aware of his circumstances for a little over 20 years. There’s so much about this that’s so interesting to me. It gives us really interesting insight on what his mind must have been like. For example, did his programming prevent him from questioning the passage of time, or maybe it prevented him from questioning how he had lived for so long? He complains about dying over and over again, what did he assume was happening before realizing he wasn’t human anymore? Did he believe it to be a bad dream, or maybe he just ‘got lucky’ and wasn’t beyond saving? I wonder what he was capable of as Kaleb Cross, did he question his abilities he has as a simulacrum, or was he programmed to believe he always had these powers?

can we talk about how revenant from apex legends’ story feels like a black mirror episode. a man discovers that he is simply a projection of a corpse’s own consciousness, kept blissfully unaware of his own inhumanity for centuries. a man realizes that he has no free will of his own, and is simply just a robotic husk being used as a pawn for an entire corporation. a man’s identity is shattered and he questions how much of himself was ever real or human. a man is brought back time and time again. a man is given false ideals of hope like in “men against fire,” where they show him exactly what he wants to see in order to keep him working. a man is stuck in a living hell he can never escape from, with how advanced the technology keeping him trapped is— it will continue to replicate him in a cruel cycle of destruction and production. idk just a thought

I am so in love with Revenant Apex Legends.

I was really sad about the reveal of his new form, but I've grown as a person in the past 24 hours and have decided that I don't care. I still love him and will always love him like I have for the past 3 years. His new form will not stop me, I will continue to adore him in every form, human, robotic, and robotic 2.0. I will not let 3 years of brain power used to think about him go to waste over a simple design change even if I don't like it a whole lot. I will learn to like it quickly.

He still has his skull motif. He's still creepy as shit. He's still gonna say his sad, angry voice lines and I'm gonna squee at. each. and. every. one.

I love him, and nothing will stop me. I'll only stop when the game is literally shut down. Then I'll make an OC and he will live in my head until I die.

Buckle in, this is a long one

Unpopular opinion but I hate character reworks

Redesigns? Ehh its 50/50 as long as its cosmetic

But full reworks that change the fundamentals and play style of a character? I hate it

This isn't my autism hating change either, i don't mind changes when they're done right but im yet to see a character rework done right

We'll take Revenant for example, I never played him myself but I've played alongside a lot of Revenants, his changes not only shook up the feel of the game for those playing him but those playing with him - which i know was the point but his kit no longer works with the kits of other characters, its become selfish (some might call mirage's kit selfish too BUT mirage's whole thing is using decoys of himself to distract from his teammates, to put himself under fire while his teammates heal/reposition) in a way that makes him better at lasting solo than in a team

And with conduit's release, revenant feels like playing alongside a more expensive conduit, his ult feels like her tact but with a longer cooldown and less utility (his tact feels like a knock off of vantage's too but you didn't hear that from me)

I get that it had lore significance but they didn't need to change his kit to portray that significance, a visual redesign and a few kit tweaks could've done that. Ash has had 4 different bodies (human, titanfall2, arenas announcer (legacy launch trailer, for non arenas players that don't know what version of her this is), apex games) yet when you look back she still feels the same all the way through and you can see similarities between Reid at the beginning and Ash as she stands now; Revenant hasn't kept that individually, he has the same voice and colour scheme but past that? He has the feel of other legends, he doesn't feel like Revenant anymore

And maybe that's the point, to disconnect him from himself, but it just doesn't work. I've run into far less Rev players now than I used to, roughly 1/5 of my games used to be with a Rev on my team and now I sometimes go a whole day without seeing one as a teammate; by disconnecting him from himself for the sake of a plot line, it's disconnected him from players that can no longer enjoy his play style
