Your body isn’t a thing. It’s a process. A cycle of matter briefly taking a human shape before returning to the ground.
You add matter to it through what you ingest, you lose matter from it when your cells die. Matter that was once part of your flesh is now part of another living organism.
You aren’t an individual, you’re a collective. The same way a lichen is composed of different fungus, algae, yeast, bacterias and other micro organisms.
You are more other than human. There are more micro organisms in your body than human cells. About 8% of the dna in your own cells come from other organisms. There’s cells from your birther and their own birther living inside you.
Your microbiome influences not only what you can digest, your cravings and your hunger but your emotions, thoughts and behaviors as well. They produce 90% of all of your serotonin.
You’ve never been a fixed thing. You’re constantly growing and changing. You’re a constant process, a community, dirt rising and taking a shape before settling down again. You are the world having a human experience. You are nature.

As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being.

The mystery of human existence lies not in just staying alive, but in finding something to live for.

You know what’s wild to consider?
That I as a modern person, who has an understanding of electricity and electron exchange, probably experience static shock in the exact same way people of the past did. Cause what the fuck am I gonna do about it?
Some medieval seamstress probably got static shock from her wool thread, didn’t know why it happened, but it didn’t really matter, cause what the devil was she gonna do about her string biting her?
That’s just kinda beautiful in a stupid way

Ok, for 2024 I'll try to post something every third day, just to get things moving ín this Central European post (sorry, posh) called Hungary. Today it is also a little look back, as I had the pleasure of attending an exhibition organized by the capital (Budapest) - Bienale 2023 - 'Queering Democracy' - an immersive digital art review exhibition during the Budapest Spring Fesztival.

It is i believe the small moments that make up life.
Please i want you to know that everything happens for a reason. It is all up to your actions only. I do not wish to convey that you should start worrying whether your action is bad or anything like it or if your action will result in some consequence. It will always will. That is why just strive to do good and just let it happen.
Face whatever may come. You are born as a human being who is certainly able to read this and can do amazing things.
Love all.
Love,
@magazinenerd

not having been born until the 2000′s, it’s so fascinating exploring other people’s nostalgia and what came before me, particularly millenials. i look at something as simple as the design of a nutritional facts label from 1998 compared to today, how it hasn’t changed, and how what’s “new” was never new at all. people were creating forum topics back then about things i didn’t even realize existed until 5-8 years ago. i see older adults talking about how the 90′s and 00′s felt like yesterday and even though i wasn’t alive to see the 90′s or old enough to fully appreciate the 00′s it does. it does feel like the 90′s were yesterday, the more i identify with a time before i was a concept, lol. i get why older adults have mid life crises, i would too if i was in my 30′s right now. it’s just interesting how so much has changed yet so much hasn’t.

Is it bad that I’m kind of tired of media presenting humanity as “special”?
To be more specific, presenting the human species as something that must be preserved at all costs, in the face of something that could possibly wipe us out?
Don’t get me wrong, human culture is special. Human thought is special. Human history is special. It is something that should always be appreciated.
But the human species is not special. It’s no more special than any other animal species on the planet. If humanity decides it gets a hall pass on extinction, why isn’t that same courtesy extended to other animals? How is that fair?
What gives us the right to dictate what is worth saving?

Did you know that scientists say dead people are aware they're dead because their consciousness continues to work after the body has stopped showing signs of life? That means that, theoretically, someone may even hear their own death being announced by medics [source]

Thoughts
“A penny for your thoughts?”
A ghost wondered near.
- Have you thought about the day? The sunshine spreading like cracks through your skin? Laying on your throat, burrying deep? The nerves and their chores? The fumes bleeding in your mind, consuming the sky and burning high high high?
Have you thought about their dreams and the pain that they bring? The hope and the screams and the hot and cold and high and down dancing in harmony?
Agony.
To feel it soaking your bones. To hear the clock ticking, unmercifully unaware about surviving and our politics and how its very existence pry you open and devours your life bite by bite. It clicks and works and your body fights, wanting to live, but condemned to die.
Alive.
The ghosts complains.
“How could you care about that?”
(Have it ever done anything else?)
“You have your flesh and the starry night, a sun bathing you every morning and folks who are alive. You are complete, your existence is finite. How could you care?”
It’s dry, it’s angry and it’s lively the answer that is pried from the whole human empire.
- I still care.
When the clock stops. When the dance ends. Or if the song will continue for another month and all of our weekends.
- I still care.
And turtles swim. Angels and demons walk holding hands underneath the sky. Happily aware of the moon, blissfuly unaware of the time.
- I still care. Repeats the human. Their voices are quiet. It shakes the entire universe.
But the world still walks by.
(There are feelings that are impossible to describe.)

I love humans as in i love the animal speicies known as homo sapiens, i love examining there behavior and how everything they do can be linked back to survival, i love how everything about them has a reason. Sure they do alot of bad but any animal would do they same if they chould, that doesn't mean its good but it does mean that since they know there flaws they can change and improve. If they just go extinct that means that all there beauty will be lost too.
