Because people had to push it, didn’t they? President Biden had to see for himself how passive and limp Congress gets, with regards to the eviction moratorium. I guess because he “forgot” about the last time around. And Speaker Pelosi had to see, for herself, just how disingenuous Biden gets when he insists on “being naive” when HE doesn’t want to get a spine against a Republican either, regarding the eviction moratorium (needed during a pandemic that shows NO sign of ending, ever) and regarding student loan forgiveness (which should happen during a pandemic, disaster or other Act of God).

Here’s a few words about that: Big Business is already pushing the narrative of “just go to bankruptcy court (and spend money) to talk to a judge (about spending money) and see if you can apply for undue hardship yada yada” and I’m just like “DURING A PANDEMIC YOU INVITED TO OUR SHORES FOR YEARS AND A DISASTER NOBODY SAW COMING?” Not to mention the Undue Hardship Process demands you have a spotless record of keeping up with payments on student loans--it would do NOTHING for anybody who had defaulted, ever.

So no, absolutely the fuck not. One CEO equals No Vote on this issue. It’s got to be forgiveness and waiver. That’s the process because Big Business has neither a clue or a conscience. They’ve forced us to pursue globalism, in the name of “not being racist”, until it’s all gone off of a cliff called Pandemic, which is a few steps away from a bigger drop called Societal Collapse. No, seriously, if we didn’t have people from India and the Middle East shoved down our throats, bedbugs would NOT be a thing in the United States--we got rid of those during the DDT Era. And likewise, if Nixon hadn’t sold us out to China, there would be NO pandemic issues because THEY wouldn’t be HERE at all, never mind the PET CLIENTELE of back-biting Johnny Reb Corporate Landlords from Hell.

I hate being that blunt about it. I’m a failed man. I have no business being cruel. But this pandemic has no business being here either. Bedbugs have no business being a problem in the 21st century, in the developed world, either. Evictions and criminally negligent SSI payments for (and restrictions on) the disabled and poorest of our poor, these have no business being issues in the 21st century, during a fucking crisis.

No, really. Half of these problems we have are problems we could and should have addressed in the 1990s, but nooo, nobody has enough of a goddamn spine to stand up for people and TO a goddamn rich-wing conservative. Nobody has the nerve to lynch a conservative and to hang a redneck traitor “republican’ by his red neck until he’s no longer lily-white and is red fucking dead instead. Nobody has the nerve to say no to money.

Yeah, I want to choke a bitch right now but there’s too many bitches and I only have two hands and more health problems than hands currently. BAGONG YUGTO. New Chapter. This is Hope SG Filipino's 24th Anniversary theme. And while I just marked my 7th year with Hope this January, and now I am on my journey to 8 years, which is also the number for "new beginnings", I have been asking myself, what does this mean to me personally? What is my Bagong Yugto? "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." ~Isaiah 43:19 BAGONG YUGTO: A NEW FIRE Early this year, my core team member lost her job and had to go back to the Philippines. And so all the more I had to stretch myself, empower the life group and lean more on His leading - not mine but by His Spirit. This is still a work in progress but I claim new wineskin, new core team members, who would be on fire for God, and then eventually as we enlarge ourselves, fruitfulness will follow.

I pray that God continue to work in us, individually and as a life group, so that all the more we can experience how good, how loving and how faithful our God is! In the same way, the Lord has been stretching us in the ministry for the past year amidst this pandemic. He has done great things in the ministry and in how He is using social media as His platform. Day by day, we are learning and exploring new things on how we can make Him known all over the globe with this ministry He has blessed us with. I am just blessed and humbled to serve Him with all my heart, mind and soul, both in the ministry and in the life group. He is my fire! And all these is by Him and for Him! BAGONG YUGTO: A NEW PERSPECTIVE The past few weeks before the conference, I've been thinking a lot. I've been asking God what's His plan for my life. What's next for me? Should I move to the States too, when one by one my ward friends are leaving for US and a family friend's actually offering to help me should I decide to move. Besides, US was the original plan. Singapore was supposed to be just a detour. Almost 10 years after, I am still here. Plus that infamous question: Will I ever have my own family too? So, I was really praying that in the conference, I will receive a word from God or a clear direction where He wants me to go. The answer came fast. On the first day during worship, I heard it loud and clear:

And all throughout the conference, I was just reminded over and over again. God is faithful, so be faithful. Keep sowing. Keep planting. Keep reaching out. Keep loving. And He will take care of the rest. Besides, He never told me to move. It was just me. You see, comparison triggers jealousy and so never compare your life to others because God has His own story for you and me. Look unto Jesus. Fix your gaze and thoughts upon Him. “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Each day has enough trouble of its own." ~Matthew 6:25-34 BAGONG YUGTO: A NEW HEART The first half of the year has been very painful for our family. I praise God that He has blessed me with a very loving and closely knitted family, and so the sudden loss of two of my Uncles in Papa's side, both I am close with, has left us bewildered, broken and very hurt. Early in April, Tito Erick, Papa's youngest brother, was hospitalized for COVID. In just a few days, he was transferred to the ICU because his oxygen level wasn't picking up and his biomarkers were all deranged. His wife, Tita Mitch, was then quarantined on another facility. Everyday we would all do video calls to check on Tita Mitch and get updates on Tito Erick. We would always encourage everyone in the family to keep on pressing on in prayer and keep believing that these too shall pass. That we've been through so much in the family before and we would be able to withstand all of these. I knew that God is a good God and He will never forsake us. I was anticipating that this will be our family's testimony of healing. But then one night, as if in a movie, there was a plot twist. Uncle Ahwee, Tita Shei's husband had a heart attack. He was pronounced dead on arrival. We were dumbfounded. I couldn't understand why all of these is happening, all together, at the same time. It felt like a dejavu. It felt like we were in 2014 all over again when Papa had an accident and he needed to go for a surgery and the next day Lolo Ama, Papa's father, passed away because of cancer. I questioned God why do our family had to experience all these pain again. Did I not pray enough for Him to hear my prayers? There were so many thoughts running on my head but we had to press on for Tito Erick. To still believe and keep praying that he will be healed. We kept Uncle Awhee's passing from Tito Erick. We even blocked him on Facebook so he won't see any post on Uncle Awhee's sudden death. During Uncle Awhee's wake, we were just amazed on how God poured out His love and provision through the help of the many people who loved Uncle Ahwee. Tito Erick's condition then was getting better. He regained some strength, enough to reply to us in our family's group chat. Every morning he would send some selfies to us to let us know that he is getting better. He found out about Uncle Awhee's passing when he saw a post from his high school batch mate but thank God during that time he was already able to take all the news in.

He then had a reswab and we were hoping that if it turned out to be negative, he will be transferred to a regular room. But the next day before dawn, on Lolo Ama's birthday, Tito Erick's oxygen levels dropped which then required him to be intubated. After two hours of being in critical condition, his heart stopped beating. The doctors tried to revive him but to no avail. It was so painful seeing his body lifeless through a video call. The whole day we were on iyak-tulala-iyak-tulala mode. We were so devastated. It felt like the enemy knew exactly where to attack me, that it found my Achilles heel, and it is succeeding. I already had thoughts of giving up and turning away from serving Him. He must have been punishing me for not being bold enough to do more for Him. But then I never heard my family questioned God. Yes, they couldn't understand why all these are happening, but they never once turned away from God. I thought I have the strongest faith, but theirs were stronger. God is still good, because despite of all what happened, He has made everyone in the family stronger in faith. He has reminded us how He has blessed us with a family that is so full of love, and that we are loved not just by Him but by the people that He has surrounded us with. I praise God for my spiritual family, ministry and friends who have helped me to stand when I couldn't, reminded me that I am not alone, and that God sees our pain and He is the only one who can turn it to joy. This wasn't the testimony I was hoping to share but God's thoughts are higher than mine. He has a different healing testimony He wanted me to share, not just for me, but for the whole family. Healing does not come in an instant. And until now, we are all still healing, slowly, taking it day by day. There are days that I still find myself dazed as if everything was just a dream. And same goes for them in the Philippines, in and out of loneliness and what ifs. But praise God we have each other to constantly remind ourselves that God is a good God and in Him, our broken hearts can be made whole again. As God promised in Revelations 21:5, "Behold, I make all things new," He is giving us a new heart. He is renewing our spirits day by day. He is making us lean more on Him, trust Him that all these are for our good, and draw closer and closer unto Him. He is our refuge and strength. At the end of day, He is a sovereign God. I may not have control on everything but He has. And He has me and my family on the palm of His hands. Here's a spontaneous song when I was pouring and crying myself out to God. It is only in His presence that we can find healing.

THERE IS MORE. Every year, I would always have a bible verse declaration for myself and just before 2021 entered, instead of a verse, He gave me a whole chapter, Ezekiel 47. And it dawned on me, how it is unfolding before my eyes, that all these things that has happened on the first half of the year is teaching me and molding me to lean more and more on Him so I could go deeper and deeper into my relationship with Him. I look forward that after everything, I will receive my inheritance! That all these is for my good and a preparation for what is ahead. This is a beginning of a new chapter of my life and my walk with Him! What a great and loving God He is and I will forever praise Him with my life! Oh praise and glory be upon Him, the King of kings, Lord of lords, Lover of my Soul, my Lord and Saviour, Jesus! "As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep. I. Executive Summary

Fast-food is a staple in any country or city. As what the name implies, it is served fast to accommodate those who are in for a quick but fulfilling meal. In the local scene, there is one fast-food chain that dominates the market, even beating other chains that are more popular internationally. This fast-food chain is called Jollibee, it even comes with its own mascot called by the same name as the company.

Jollibee is a multinational fast-food chain under Jollibee Food Corporation that operates over a thousand branches nationwide and has recently opened branches internationally. The fast-food chain currently operates in at least 30 countries; some of these are the US, Canada, Hongkong, UK, Vietnam, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia. They serve quality food for a cheap price that is sure to be affordable for everyone, from the budget-bound student to the well-off businessman. A few examples of the food they serve is the famous “Chicken Joy”, the “Yumburger”, the “Jolly Spaghetti”, burger steaks, desserts, and some breakfast meals like beef tapa and longanisa. They also offer delivery services to bring your favorite meals directly to your homes. The chain was started by Tony Tan Caktiong who began his journey by acquiring franchises of an ice cream company and then going on to start his own restaurant brand. The vision of Jollibee is to be a world-renowned fast-food restaurant chain and be a top competitor in the global food industry. The Mission is to serve affordable meals to the community, promote Filipino food, bring pride to the Philippines, and serve quality food that patrons are sure to enjoy.

Whenever we hear of birthdays or special occasions, selecting a venue for the party to be held is a must, and we cannot miss out on having Jollibee as our caterer for the event especially for a children’s party. We grew up loving the fried chicken dubbed the “Chickenjoy” that Jollibee serves, and it is now being recognized across the globe.

The History of Jollibee

Tony Tan Caktiong, the owner of Jollibee Food Corporation, graduated from University of Santo Tomas with a degree of Chemical Engineering. His parents took the whole family and emigrated from Southeast China. They settled in Davao where they opened a restaurant. A trip to an ice cream plant when he was 22 inspired him to pursue a Magnolia Dairy Ice Cream franchise and he opened two—one in Cubao and another in Quiapo—using P350,000 of his family’s savings. During that time, Ice cream was not in demand to the public, so he decided to add new dishes to serve the public and these became so popular that by 1978, he ended his franchise and converted his restaurants to the first iteration of Jollibee.

As of now, Jollibee is the largest fast-food chain brand in the Philippines, operating a network of more than 1,400 stores. A dominant market leader in the Philippines, Jollibee enjoys the lion's share of the local market that is more than all the other multinational fast-food brands in PH combined. With a strict adherence to the highest standards of food quality, service, and cleanliness, Jollibee serves great-tasting, high-quality and affordable food products.

Having been in lockdown for quite some time there are a lot of fast-food chains trying to dethrone Jollibee. Jollibee may be the largest fast-food chain in the Philippines, but that does not mean other competitors cannot catch up. There are plenty of other fast-food chains that can serve the same type of food and service.

There are plenty of suppliers in the market ready to give out their products for huge restaurants like Jollibee. This is because Jollibee purchases huge quantities of stock for all their franchises. It is a well-known brand that could possibly attract more consumers to them as well.

The ongoing lockdown in the country has pushed more people into ordering food online or takeout for food. Consumers are now encouraged to stay home to keep safe and to only go out when needed. So, this enables fast-food chains to optimize their delivery services and they can provide better service since the consumer is one of the biggest sources of profit. Customers are also able to give feedback in case of faulty service or what not.

Rivalry Among Consisting Competitors:

The competition on who survives during this pandemic is alive and it is stiff. The number of businesses trying to just make it out are too many to count. However, Jollibee has managed to survive and gain what it lost during the year 2020. They differentiate themselves with their brand loyalty.

While IFE’s main purpose is to assess the internal environment that can influence the business. The solutions are more categorized by targeting audiences in residential, institutional, commercial, and industrial areas. Twenty potential solutions were identified and collectively agreed upon. Each solution was assessed for clarity about the opportunity, purpose, and measurement. Time and resources for implementing were also evaluated. The COVID-19 pandemic is altering the market dynamic. As a result, Jollibee is looking for students who want to work part-time and have no experience. They simply have to submit their portfolios and medical history to learn more about their health status. People who have been out of work for a long time due to the pandemic can also apply. This extends to people aged 18 to 40 with no case of coronavirus infection.

Indicator: Students and people who lost their jobs.

Means of verification: survey and posting through social media.

Objectives:

This action plan of Jollibee wants to improve their food services by conducting a card such as a Jollibee card, this card contains the points they've not used. Converting their peso to a point. This action may lessen the work of the crew plus avoiding the spread of coronavirus disease. Having Job Opportunities posted on social media may help the food services to spread the information given on the post. Many people will apply such as students and people who lost their jobs because of the pandemic. The technological environment may help the whole Jollibee team to work well and fast because of the new instruments or devices given to them. Thinking about how they can compete with the competitors to increase their sales even after a pandemic. Conveying a survey may help the Jollibee team to increase their sales and to know their weakness upon may change it.

I. Conclusion

Jollibee is a successful fast-food brand; they were able to dominate the market despite having heavy-hitting competition. They have survived because of the loyalty of their customers who consider them a staple brand. Even during a pandemic, they have adapted, as they always have, to continue serving their patrons the same quality of service that they have been providing.

II. Financial Projection

In the second quarter of the year Jollibee Food Corporation lost 10.2 billion pesos of revenue according to the article written by Almazan, the results had flipped after only a year. It also cost the corp. 7 billion peso planned business transformation program. They stated that the revenue decreased by 6.6 percent to 23.3 billion from 43.7 billion pesos in the same time period last year. They also released a system wide sales from april to june slid by 48.4 percent to 30.7 billion pesos from 59.4 billion peso per year as quarantine measures became more strict to stop the spread of Covid 19. According to the article Jollibee stated that they closed 50 percent of their stores at the beginning quarter of the year, although on the end 88 percent of the stores were already open and they are mostly relying on takeout orders and dine in operations was very limited. It was also reported that the recovery of stores varied from different places. Despite this drastic change it is stated in the article that the fast food operator expects its financial performance to get better in the next months of the year and sales will begin building up again. They also stated that positive earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization by fourth quarter of the year with countries including Philippines, China, Vietnam, Europe, Middle east and other parts of Asia. According to the article Tanmantiong said that his company will open 338 stores worldwide this year. “We expect sales and profit to increase significantly in 2021 to a point closer to the levels of 2019 and to grow at least at a historical growth rate of 15 percent annually by 2022,” he said.

Financial Times: Five world leaders: No time for geopolitical turf battles

31 March 2020: The Financial Times on Tuesday published an op-ed co-written by King Abdullah II with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Singapore President Halimah Yacob, Ethiopian President Sahle-Work Zewde, and Ecuador President Lenín Moreno Garcés.

The article called for united international efforts to contain and counter coronavirus disease (COVID-19), describing it as a global threat that transcends borders, ethnicities, and creeds.

“We can contain and counter COVID-19 more effectively by knocking down the barriers that hinder knowledge exchange and co-operation,” the leaders said. (Source: Petra)

King Abdullah and the leaders of Germany, Singapore, Ethiopia, and Ecuador commended those working around the world to save lives or maintain vital services, writing that “they give us hope and offer inspiration that our societies may not only weather this crisis but also grow stronger and more connected”.

Faced by the same enemy, they wrote, the world stands to gain by bringing the full force of humanity together to fight it, as no country alone can win this fight.

“We all have something to contribute regardless of the size of our economies or populations. A global solution is in everybody’s self-interest,” the leaders said.

They called for a new global alliance to accelerate research and development of treatments and vaccines; ensure rapid production, procurement and fair distribution of testing kits; step up production and ensure the fair distribution of future therapies and vaccines, including to vulnerable populations such as refugees; and highlight the benefits of a coordinated global response to the crisis as an exemplary global public good.

The leaders concluded by reaffirming that no country is immune to the COVID-19 pandemic, “no matter how advanced its economy, capabilities, or technology. Before this virus, we are all equal and must work together to beat it”. They expressed confidence in human ingenuity, calling for solidarity to save lives and build a better tomorrow.

The daily moisturizing cream comes with a pump dispenser and it is very easy to use & store. The fragrance is again a winner for me and it totally screams spa. The consistency is quite thick but still it blends well onto the skin. Since the cream is thick, it takes a while to blend well into the skin and adds a bit of greasiness to the skin.

I usually apply this cream after I have done my cleansing, toning and after spritzing with some face mist so that the HA in this cream helps my skin to absorb the moisture better and keeps my face hydrated for longer hours. I prefer to use this at nighttime due to the greasiness factor and I feel the skin tends to rejuvenate better when we sleep.

For those who have really dry skin or are living in arid weathers, this moisturizing creams can do wonders. For Sg weather & as per my experience, I would rate it a 4/5.

Bangkok, 9 provinces restrict movements to curb rising cases (AP) Faced with a sharp rise in coronavirus cases, the Thai capital on Sunday announced a ban on indoor dining and gatherings of more than 20 people, in addition to the closure of construction sites and the sealing off of workers’ quarters in Bangkok and nine other provinces. The measures will remain for 30 days. The situation has become critical as the number of hospital beds in Bangkok for seriously ill COVID-19 patients is running short despite the creation of several field hospitals. Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha said Friday that a proposal for a seven-day curfew for all of Bangkok has been rejected for the time being.

Senior Singaporean ministers have said it is the “new normal” of “living with covid”. “The bad news is that Covid-19 may never go away. The good news is that it is possible to live normally with it in our midst,” wrote Singapore’s trade Minister Gan Kim Yong, finance minister Lawrence Wong and health minister Ong Ye Kung said in an editorial in the Straits Times this week.

Riots in Lebanon over economy injure 10 soldiers, protesters (AP) Lebanese troops deployed in the northern city of Tripoli early Sunday taking positions around major state institutions after a night of protests and riots against worsening living conditions left several protesters and 10 soldiers injured. Sporadic protests were reported throughout Lebanon on Saturday as the country’s 20-month economic crisis worsened. The World Bank described the crisis as one of the worst the world has witnessed in 150 years. It is coupled with a political deadlock that has left Lebanon without a government since August. Lebanon has been suffering severe shortages of vital products including fuel, medicine and medical products, angering the public.

Most of the victims were women and children, said a doctor who treated people at the scene.
