Does SpringDad have a current/favourite hobby? Something to occupy any time he might have to himself when the kiddos aren't around?
He loves cooking! But as a parent, he doesn't have the energy even when the kids aren't around, so he sleeps lmao

Do you find this fandom almost underestimates Ian and Mickeys progress and how they really are just a normal couple. Not saying they are a picture perfect pair with no faults but I think sometimes this fandom makes a big deal about things that are perfectly everyday things for them now…like affection. I don’t think Mickey would be shy tell Ian to be careful on his morning run because it’s icey and I don’t think Ian would in response make such a big deal about Mickey showing he cares. Stuff like that. If this makes sense.
haaahah i mean?? sometimes i do take a good hard look at myself and say "mel. mel, did you really have a meltdown over the idea of them buying groceries together? did you truly have to romanticize mild PDA in the cereal aisle?"
and like. yes i did sfdakh i think it's because they worked so hard for it? and what feels like everyday affection was never guaranteed. plus... as viewers, we didn't really have the time to get used to their domestic married life before the show ended. so we're still like imagine if tHEY KISSED WHILE FOLDING LAUNDRY???
so i think it's less underestimating it and more that we are never going to stop celebrating it. the fact that it's casual to them is MIRACULOUS to us, ya know? it's not that we don't think they are capable of it, just that the thought of it is fucking awesome! every time!!!

I used to think my house was alive when I was a kid. When I was told off and sad and sent to my room, I’d lay on the stairs in an act of defiance… a bad one because as long as I was out of mums sight she didn’t care where I went. And I’d press my ear to the floor and I’d hear my house humming.
Obviously I know now that it was probably the boiler or something. Or maybe even peoples voices in the house. But back then I was convinced my house was humming to me.
And not only that, I also thought my house’s heart was located in my room with me. You know when you lay in silence with your ear to your pillow? And you can hear that rhythmic thumping? I know now it was my own heartbeat, but back then I thought it was my house’s heartbeat.
And I think there’s something beautifully innocent about it, believing an object is not only alive but is compassionate enough to comfort me when I was feeling sad and neglected. And I thought my house had a heart, and that that heart was located in my room. And every night I’d lay awake and listen to its heartbeat thump away.
And I think there’s something beautiful about the fact I was listening to my own heartbeat in my ears and that I found comfort in the fact that it was still beating and keeping its body alive.
I made songs out of the groans and creaks an old house made.
I took comfort in the sound of my own heartbeat.

What if we gave "Cesar" some catnip?
Alt!Cesar's version of catnip is the taste of Mark's affection so make Mark genuinely laugh at something and you'll immediately start hearing that silly static humming noise lmao

Whims - Loretta House (1984) Born Loretta Houston in 1953, Loretta House was already a household name by the time she released her 6th studio album, “Whims.” It was a sort of rebirth for her and signaled a new stage of her career, where she felt freer to experiment artistically. She had already found critical and commercial success, most notably with her duets, such as 1979's “Whenever I’m in Sulani (I Think Of You)”*, and her 1982 solo effort, Glitter & Denim. Featuring a unique blend of pop and traditional soul, combined with the technological innovations of the era, “Whims” became her most successful album and quickly shot to the top of both the pop and RnB charts. She is usually credited with being the first female sim to ever accomplish this. Some critics at the time described the album as "busy" & "directionless," but many of those same critics have since changed their minds. One of them, in a 2013 revisitation, wrote: "Loretta House and the then young Logan Saint, were simply leap years ahead of all of us. "Whims" somehow sounds better now than it did 30 years ago." At the 1985 VMAs, Loretta Houston slipped and fell during a performance for her song, "Grilled Cheese." She unfortunately broke her foot. Many have speculated that it was an intentional act of sabotage by her rival Krista Monday. However, insiders and witnesses deny it, and assert that it was most definitely an accident. Since her injury, Loretta decided to take a break from music and turn to acting. She starred alongside Jessica Nash in the 1986 film "Crumpled Sheets Of Paper" and most recently in the 2016 comedy film "Humming Wasps."

since i started testosterone in february i have been reading a stanza of andrew marvell’s poem ‘the garden’ every month to track the way my voice has changed. today i finished it :-)
#my voice#does it belong in that tag given that i am speaking and not singing. ah well in it goes#andrew marvell#it is exciting to finally be able to post this! given the nature of the project i've been working on it for a while#i can't remember if i was initially intending to post it but i think it's neat so you guys can see it too :-) a questionable gift unto ye#it's one of my favourite ever poems which is why i picked it. partly because it's a cracking poem but also because the garden in#question is very likely fairfax's garden given that marvell wrote it whilst he was living at his house to tutor his daughter :-)#i love the line about melons. i love the idea that fairfax was growing melons. his melonship#also 'the luscious clusters of the vine upon my mouth do crush their wine' is such incredible imagery i think about it all the time#stopping myself now before i start explaining all my favourite parts of the poem because then i would just be reciting the whole poem#sorry the audio quality changes quite a bit by the way i kept changing where i recorded#oh also i skipped a month because my voice hadn't changed at all (between the first and second stanzas i think) which is why the#number of months doesn't quite match up to the number of stanzas#i do wish i had recorded a stanza when i was one month on T given that my voice barely changes in the last few verses. ah well#anyway i hope you enjoy it my dear friends :-) holding you all in my arms#also as usual i have a few messages and things to answer so i will do that soon! i have been enjoying being active again after so long :-)#ive got a song to post soon too. he he ho ho ho. hum hum hum

William Russell popping up as the politician and friend and mentor to Benjamin Disraeli, Wyndham Lewis, in ATV's Emmy nominated mini-series Disraeli (1978)
#fave spotting#william russell#ian chesterton#doctor who#classic doctor who#disraeli#disraeli: portrait of a romantic#as it was titled in the US#1978#classic tv#atv#i must admit i know very little about this particular era in british political history#and as such when William turned up as a mentor figure i thought oh goody he's got a big role#alas.. not to be. Lewis died suddenly‚ shortly after Disraeli succeeded in being elected as an MP#and his wife ended up having a much greater influence over the future prime minister (spoiler: they married)#so yes‚ Bill has a few brief scenes in ep 1 and then keels over offscreen in the first act of ep 2. ho hum#such is the lot of the character actor#still he's good fun whilst he's here and provides some gently subtle advice to Disraeli about curtailing his verbose speeches in the house#lest he baffle his own party as well as the opposition with his intellect#it's a good series and very well written‚ altho does simplify some relationships and events in a... questionable way#mainly it depicts Bulwer Lytton (he of 'it was a dark and stormy night' fame) very sympathetically and his wife as unbalanced and vengeful#whereas the truth is much bleaker (he had his wife‚ the writer Rosina B L‚ institutionalised when her complaints about his treatment of her#became inconvenient...)#likewise Disraeli's passionate stand against the Corn Laws repeal is presented as a david vs goliath moment within the houses of parliament#without ever really interrogating the motives of those opposed to the repeal‚ nor the impact of its failure

i feel like it's the obvious answer that st5e1 will open w will in the ud singing should i stay or should i go
but also because it seems so obvious i'm thinking. what if it Isn't
give me henry post-creel murders in the lab, perhaps several years down the line, stuck in an isolation room after misbehaving, curled up on the floor murmuring the song to himself as a form of comfort, and because it's been seared into his mind after that night
give me henry visiting victor through the void, wandering through whistling wind and creaking trees until he finds his father and sings the song to him to comfort them both
