So i did some Reference sheets of SnapDonnie!

lots of during and after the infection drawings.

I didnt end up drawing the stages before the infection fully takes hold. but its mostly just the vines dont yet have the flytrap heads. and instead of the big split down his face, Donnie just has the teeth (ish things) growing, or nothing at all

wait i can explain that better

So the infection goes like this:

- small viney growths on shell

- vines grow and spread up his shoulders with four distinct larger ones forming on his shell

- now the mental stuff starts to happen, with Donnie becoming hungrier and hungrier (for raw meat, ew)

-(brothers find out)

- Donnie gets more and more unstable, tuning in and out of clarity, starts to have violent episodes.

- spines/teeth start growing down the centre of face

-face splits open and he starts going fully feral, attacking (and trying to eat) everyone (as seen in above picture and comic)

ive been playing a lot of stardew valley to cope w sttess and just yesterday and the day before i found out it kinda has canon polyamory sorta.

so for ppl who dont play the game, theres heart events as ur friendship increases with each villager, lil cutscenes or sometimes gifts. Each villager has a total of 10 hearts to fill, but dateable characters cap at 8, the final two being locked behind actually dating them. You *can* date more than one character, but that's very much cheating and they will get mad.

Except - i'm sure a lot of you already knew this but I only found out recently when a friend told me - if you have a rabbit's foot in your pocket. With that item in your in your inventory ur allowed to date all of the bachelors, get all their 10 heart events and a bonus group one where they don't get mad at you. I'm not sure how the scene goes cause I never got it, but I thought it was interesting that you can do that.

The reason I said kinda sorta is you don't really get to properly discuss the relationship so it's more like the player still cheated but they don't get mad than a proper relationship, but I still think it's pretty neat, cause I've always wabted to get all 10 heart events but I didn't want to make them mad so I never tried... Also, unfortunately, you csnnot marry multiple bachelors without a mod, but I did see a few polyamory mods in nexus! Haven't downloaded one myself, cause I feel weird about dating siblings and I wouldn't know how to choose between haley and emily or maru and sebastian, I love them all dearly 💖 I also saw one that allowed you to marry a villager AND be roommates with krobus without making it romanceable (him? they? does krobus hace pronouns?) which I think is great!!

Anyway I just wanted to talk abput the rabbit's foot thing here cause I thought it was interesting! Not quite polyamory but the closest you can get to without mods.

i was a bit unsure before, but now that i saw this concert meme made by chinese fans, chengling definitely has aroace vibes

to understand the meme, basically:

the “cheng” (成) in chengling’s name (成岭) is the same character as one used in an idiom: “cheng shuang cheng dui” (成双成对), which means to be in a pair/in pairs, which can refer to couples.

the meme-makers have taken the idiom apart into two, “cheng shuang” (成双) and “cheng dui” (成对), which still makes sense in chinese.

in each pic, they put these two words above wenzhou and caoxiang, and then put just “chengling” (成岭) above chengling. so each pic reads (in different orders):

> cheng shuang (in a pair), cheng dui (in a pair), cheng ling

so basically this is a meme using a pun to mock how single chengling is compared to everyone else around him, like being the lonely one in the group. it would be the equivalent of if you put something like “in love”, “in love”, and “ingrid” in english.

I'm just curious - you're set on reclaiming the f slur but don't want to use the q? What's the difference to you (other than who's being targeted)? It always felt to me that the former was more violent, but perhaps that's a byproduct of the environment I've grown up in, so I'd like to hear your perspective

It's not a matter of extremity, a slur is a slur--I wanna get that out first. Just because I reclaim the f slur doesn't mean I think of it as any less of a slur. That doesn't really have much to do with someone's choice to reclaim a slur-- also, arguing about slurs in measures of "extremity" is kind of pointless, some slurs will hurt some people more than others, we all have our own unique experiences with them. Regardless, all that matters is that these words Do have hateful origins and bring harm and trauma to some people, and as fellow lgbt people, we need to respect and acknowledge that. Reclaiming is meaningless if we are forcing it on and actively harming our lgbt siblings with it.

Anyways, on that point-- reclaiming at its core is about taking a word that would be used by your oppressors to dehumanize and hurt you, and turning it on its head into your own word. Taking that power away from them and instead empowering yourself with it. It is a choice made by you alone, otherwise, well, it's not really giving any power to you, is it?

And that's why I feel uncomfortable reclaiming the q slur as opposed to the f slur-- It wasn't ever really.... my CHOICE, to reclaim it (the q slur). News articles, school clubs, random tumblr users talking about our entire community, politicians, celebrities-- they all decided this for me, that suddenly this slur is okay to refer to us with. People who aren't lgbt at all suddenly decided that this slur was okay to become the academic term for me and the community, completely out of our control. And I despise that. That wasn't their choice to make for me, and while some people embrace it, I personally can't feel any pride or enpowerment in it.
