Episode 33!! LET’S GO HIKARIII

Knowing that we meet Tailmon in this episode... Yeah I do miss the 8th Child ard from Adventure... It’s a really iconic storyline, like it’s not complicated but it’s simple and that’s what makes it great and, yeah, I miss it... Gonna try to keep myself from rambling about Adventure tho, LET’S GO EPISODE

Pictures taken during our first afternoon in Lyon, Thursday 25 May. We picked Vieux Lyon based on advice from several sources, including the hotel desk clerk and @silvernatto.

Here’s a sample of the exhibits in the Museum of Miniatures and Cinema. There’s more of course, but I chose to skip some for convenience (and also to incite everyone to visit for themselves)

Reconstitution of the killer’s lab in The Perfume. The whole basement level was dedicated to this one classic, which I’ve never seen but my mother told me about.

Moving on to the upper levels of the building now...

Dashboard of the spaceship in Space Cake, which (again) I’ve never seen or heard of, but it seems cool enough.

Trial model of a hippo-mammoth hybrid used in RRRrrrr!!! a French comedy about the investigation of the first murder in recorded (pre)history.

Concept art of the spaceships and exoskeletons from Independence Day. I have both the DVD and the book for this one.

Wanna play “name the superhero”? To be honest I only recognize Robocop and the Thing + Batman’s left side.

Props from various movies, all of which I think I’ve watched at one time or another.

Rifle from Star Trek: Enterprise... I actually haven’t watched any ENT episodes, but as a Trekkie I couldn’t let it pass me by.

The following props were in a special area behind curtains, forbidden to sensitive people and kids (but I think these are rather mild)

I’m sure most of you recognize Chucky from Child’s Play. The faceless head in the back is a ghoul from La Meute, a low-budget French horror movie I have on DVD.

The torso from The X-Files motion picture... I do think I’ve seen it, but it was a long time ago (if I’m not mistaken, we have it on VHS...)

Let’s get to the small-scale models now.

The Lewis And Clark from Event Horizon, another movie I might check out if I get around to it.

The roof of the fortress run by Mama-something... I forgot her name, but I remember was dealing a drug called “slow-mo”? I watched Judge Dredd when I made a solo trip to Köln to meet up with @furriesforlife, if I recall right.

Model of an airship from the Three Musketeers, which I also haven’t seen but I liked the ship’s design.

Model of the Runaway Train’s locomotive; I vaguely recall watching this one.

Shuttle from 2001: A Space Odyssey, yet another movie I haven’t watched even though it’s a classic I’ve been hearing about for a long time.

Next up was a small area dedicated solely to the Alien franchise.

The fearsome queen animatronic with a facehugger egg! Check [here] to see a video clip of the animation.

And there, right outside the queen’s cage, is the Predator guy from Alien vs Predator.

More aliens... they just keep on comin’ outta the woodwork!

Here are a few other animatronics from various movies.

One of the giant-ass spiders from Jumanji. So many childhood memories, I even have the book.

One of the creatures from The Mimic, which I haven’t seen but I thought this creature looked cool.

The martian and mech from the comedy/scifi/horror classic Mars Attacks! Been a while since I’ve seen that one.

I’m ending this with some small-scale décors; most of them were 1/12th.

Workshop of a stamp collector (philatéliste), made by a certain Bernard Lefebvre.

Various instruments, I especially like the chords in the center (they look like Turkish instruments called “saz”).

Sculpted egg shells, not miniatures of anything but still amazing of course.

More mini-sculptures; the right one was sitting on a walnut shell, there also was a tiny boat carved into a tooth (an actual human tooth!) but it’s not in the frame here.
