Be like the Queen of Swords; she doesn’t mince words. She communicates her feelings, needs, and boundaries directly because she trusts herself first and foremost. You’re more capable and resilient than you may realize. It’s normal to experience doubt, but instead of falling apart, take a moment to reflect on your journey and how far you’ve come. Look around at what you’ve created and bask in that feeling of fulfillment. You’ve earned it. But this is only the beginning, so be excited for what’s to come. Animal Spirit Oracle: Hummingbird. A perfect animal to represent this time. You’ve laid the groundwork, but there’s still so much to learn in this life. Cyberpunk will always be a W to me because I have never had any game that continuously and consistently pulls me back to it. Bugs and all, I still get a thrill when V's theme music plays on the startup screen. I still love chatting with Johnny in between quests and finding tarot holograms on walls. I still love the endless amounts of trashbags covering the alleyways and the music playing on my motorcycle. I still love interacting with all of the characters. And, on my third playthrough, I'm still finding things I had no clue were there.

That means they did something super, super right, imo. And that's why I'll still probably turn on this stupid, buggy game a year from now when DLC finally drops

With just 2 days left to order the Revue Starlight Enactment Zine (order here!) and less than 10 orders left to unlocking the bgumi pin (which I also designed), I thought I would post my thought process behind the bookmark I made for the zine. It's long, so... more under the cut

starting with the arcana arcadia side - i wanted to try to depict the entire story so I split it up vertically into 6 parts.

act 1

pretty self explanatory - the magician summoning the devil, the hanged man saying he won't stop walking, high priestess being sent to hell

act 2 - is a depiction of these two moments in the screenshots

act 3

also self explanatory... the trial. hermit's eyes are closed, still in denial of the truth

act 4

this one i struggled with a bit initially - because conceptually they're also the wild pirates but Evolved in the "play part" of act 4, at first i wanted to include that, but i couldn't figure out a clear way to do so. the paper moon is aruru:

act 5

this was the easiest to come up with - i was just like OK. STAR WAR. (though i did mess around a lot with the directions they faced) the escape pod is taking star girl away from the battle.. the bottom 3 are cheering as they crash to their deaths. the effects on ai/hologram hikari were fun to do. it was inspired the most by this poster:

act 6

and so the girl arrives at her destination - the moon, a desert of bone and ash. where arcana go to die and be reborn. the fool sets off on his new journey, the world teaches the star of her identity, and the moon passes on her brilliance... ah... i can't put a succinct story screenshot in here. go read act 6.

I wanted to include some imagery from the star tarot card. here's a description of the jugs of water i just stole from biddytarot:

She pours the water out to nourish the earth and to continue the cycle of fertility, represented by the lush greenery around her. The other container pours the water onto dry land in five rivulets, representing the five senses.

instead of water, I wanted it to look like paper, like a long scroll overflowing from the jugs. and they're gold just to match the #aesthetic. the star, brimming with hope and brilliance, continues the cycle of death and rebirth by continuing to write stories. :)

now for the stage play side:

originally i just thought of this as the blue glitter side to include seiran - but then i was like what the heck, there are so many other stageplay characters and i want to draw them. but i think it's still representative of the plays as a whole because seiran were the school born on and for the stage exclusively.

i was thinking of the platform stages that you see in the anime, big round things. i didn't actually cross reference but that's how they were in my brain

the jhs are just jumping (diving) into this world of the stage (they did appear in delight first and foremost after all)

as follows from Diving, i was thinking of limitless when i drew this because i looove the lyric that goes "Limitless, into this strange phenomenon / The one who plunged in was me" and the whole underwater theme of seiran esp in the blue glitter manga. i considered replacing the three musketeers tagline with some form of that lyric, and playing with some underwater themes - but it proved to be too messy and difficult. but we still have this kind of jumping down feeling which is really one of my fav expressions in revue starlight

i think i wanted to have chizuru and ichika in these not necessarily linear ages because first of all it's the most recognizable, but also because you could say it's them in the point of their lives where they're the most invested in the stage. also I guess the teachers are not in the audience they're the . revue masters calling the curtains to open

Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon (美少女戦士セーラームーン) is one of the two most enduring fandoms of my life, but my partner has never actually watched the 1992 TV anime so lately we've been moving through them very slowly.

Of course, this is definitively a Heisei series, not a Showa series, but it's still very relevant to the topics of this blog so I thought one fun way to cover it here would be to show one frame from each episode, rather than several screenshots from each episode. So here we have one frame from each of the first nine episodes.

My partner asked me which of these shots is my favorite, which is a very difficult question to answer. The first one is a restaging of a scene from the Japanese folktale, Urashima Tarou (浦島太郎), so that's very exciting to me. I am a big fan of the Tarot so seeing it in the second image is very fun. The shot from episode seven is fun for me because Umino is crossdressing and I have a deep interest in LGBTQ themes. But I think my favorite is Usagi's disguise in the sixth episode where she looks very '80s, very much like something from a Seika coloring book or a Studio Pierrot (株式会社ぴえろ) magical girl show, or even maybe like Jem and the Holograms.

Also got an Eren Yeager Final Season Hugcot mini figure, which I am very happy with. All these figs I am super glad I got. The FFVII keychains, the Sasuke stuff. The Byakuya look up figure is adorable! The only thing I am pissed with, is the freaking extra-mega-large shipping box. For absolutely no reason whatsoever! *sigh* There went over $100USD thrown down the drain, for literal no reason. I'm super angry at that, I probably won't recover from it soon enough in a literally sense, and monetarily.

Thinking about my Saren/OC Darling getting recruited by Cerberus during ME2 since they have intimate knowledge and abilities related to the Reapers. Rambling incoming

After the end of ME1 when she gets rescued by Shepard and co, she's brought to the Council to testify but all of her abilities are waved away as a unique form of advanced Biotics and any mention of the Reapers is ignored or denied. Udina wants to use her as leverage against the Council and Turian government, arguing that she is a victim of Saren's unlimited access and immunity as a Spectre and his grudge against humans. Fed up by their refusal to see the truth and hating the attention the public gave her on the Citadel, she managed to use her minor Indoctrination to be allowed to leave.

Her nightmares and visions of the Reapers, Collectors, Protheans, and something...older, deeper, leaves her desperate for a way to find out how to stop the Reapers. She uses her influence over the Geth Indoctrinated by Sovereign to her advantage and decides to hide out in territories under their control. In her travels she also interacted with the Rachnii and did her best to train her mental abilities. When Shepard finds her in ME2, she's working as a travelling fortune teller. Her deck of hologram tarot cards is more of a smokescreen for her real abilities, and she hides her face since she was publicized in the media. Once recruited, she is a support companion that reluctantly works with Cerberus on the condition that she speaks to The Illusive Man via the quantum entanglement system Shepard uses. The whole point was to see if she could use her abilities to "read" him even in a projection, but it turns out she doesn't have too--she recognizes him from Saren's residual memories, and is suspicious of him being indoctrinated somehow. If you recruit her after recruiting Jack, there's a special cutscene where upon seeing TIM's face, she starts laughing and can't explain to Shepard what's so funny.

"I just...Jack, she hates Cerberus, and her name...it's...she chose it randomly, but...she didn't! What a small universe!"

She has some unresolved trauma that leads to her having a misplaced discomfort (and subservience) when she's around Garrus. Until you complete her loyalty mission, she will be nervous and constantly prioritize Garrus in battle instead of Shepard when both are in the party. After her loyalty mission, she is less anxious around him and comes to see him as a friend--and also will awkwardly give fem!Shepard advice about how Turians and humans...practice biology.

Upon recruiting Legion, she is delighted to see a Geth that's capable of acting more independently than ever before. And she's overjoyed that the Geth can potentially turn against the Reapers even though they're synthetic, and is happy to share any "data" Legion wants to learn from her. Legion is somewhat cautious of her passive ability to Indoctrinate, but eventually concludes that she is likely unable to corrupt Geth code when she is an organic. There's an added benefit that Darling can provide insight on Indoctrination from an organic perspective, which Legion cannot possibly understand. There are a few hints here and there at an odd romance between the two if you complete both of their loyalty missions too!

When the Normandy crew is kidnapped and Shepard and the gang do the rescue mission, Darling instantly recognizes the Human Reaper from flashes of her nightmares. Throughout the game, Harbinger has been hinting that once their plans are complete, Darling is somehow vital to their plans to invade. Once the plans for a human Reaper are discovered, it's revealed that Darling--the only synthetic able to Indoctrinate due to the Prothean's experiments--is going to become the "central processing unit" of the Reaper. She would sort of be an AI like a reverse EDI: instead of a human creating a synthetic personality and gaining freedom, the Reapers are uploading a human personality into a synthetic body and shackling it.

If you completed her loyalty mission, Darling is able to be yanked out of the Human Reaper as it starts to fall apart and is rescued. If you don't, she isn't and dies along with the Reaper.

And in ME3, she's vital to the Leviathian DLC (as that's the older, deeper source that has been disturbing her with its far off presence) and her relationship with Legion gets more developed. There's even a Citadel mission where you can be Legion's wingman/woman and help them get together, and if it goes well you can unlock a bonus scene of them on a "double date" with EDI and Joker.

That said, I'm still exhausted and crying every day because of the stress and trying very hard not to off myself from it, and it's so rough man. My mom spent all night yelling at the voices and then went outside and claimed that they put holograms of dummies in her car and that they're on the roof and I'm just...

I don't know what I'm going to do man. I feel like I need to find a place to live away from her, but moving out on my own when I've not been able to really work because I've been taking care of her for so long is terrifying.

God the worst parts of me are coming out too. the parts of me that just want to do bad things to myself and start a sports betting grift or a tarot card grift or something. which would be immoral in the extreme.

I got the written letter of eviction today too. Mom doesn't know yet. and of course last night she decided now was the time to start unpacking when we literally have to repack everything...

Hologram Tarot 2024 - First Quarter

Happy New Year! 2023 was a year of big internal shifts for a lot of us. The first quarter of this new year is asking us to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. "yes? What is it?" I say a bit concerned, I've never seen her act like this before

"I think we may have a problem" soon enough we went into the meeting room everyone was already there,

By everyone she meant Noah: crazy scientist half demon, don't mess with him, a total physco

Tarot: a literal God very kind though

Night: the bringer of fire and chaos that has a soft spot for nature and animals

Laureen (duh): loves mythology and everything about it, possessed by a God (sometimes)

Alex: hunter of the shadows, normal human, distant relative, has anger issues.

I quickly got worried and say down the last time we had a meeting like this it didn't end well

"so, what happened?" I said looking at everyone

Noah stood up and pulled out a hologram

It looked like a portal, a active one

"we suspect that in less than an hour a portal like this will be appearing somewhere in the castle, it seems it will bring something strong or powerful so we need to be on lookout." said Alex explaining the floating image infront of them

"Ohhh~ imagine the data we could collect, it sounds amazing-" Noah was saying but got cut off by a loud BANG!

everyone stood up and headed towards the sound

I got my daggers out, Noah transformed in his demon self, tarot did some kind of spell, laureen let her godside take over and her eyes were now a bloody shining red with sharp teeth, night set fire on his hands and Alex got her bow and arrow out pointing it at the source of the sound

We all just stood there our guard still up as we all glared at the space where shadows took over, waiting.

"alright enough of this!" said the God side of laureen and launched herself at the shadows hitting something.

It looked like a boy, he has brown hair and a mask on his face, he had blocked laureens strike with an axe which was slowly bending at laureens hit since again she is a god right now.

There seemed to be more people behind him

Death quickly remembered one of the spells on her book and recited it under her breath her eyes turned a bright purple and she lookee straight at them

Her eyes turned to brown again and she looked at them then at her team who still had their guard up while laureen came back to the group after attacking one of them

She signaled them to stand down and everybody put their weapons down or turned into their normal selfs

"it's okay we won't hurt you, Toby I'm sorry about your axe, if you let us take a look at it I'm sure we can fix it" said death with a sturdy tone and voice to calm them down yet it only seemed to spike their anxiety even more

"How do you know who we are?!" spoke the stranger now known as nico.

"I have have a ability to know that but I can assure you if you do not harm us we will not harm you" I said but I was not quick enough as I though as I said that a blade was thrown at us by one of them I doged but Noah, who was behind me, didn't get so lucky.

He looked down at his now heeling stomach and pulled out the blade his blood a deep black color

He look at the group infront of him as his eyes turned red and a shadow consumed half his body

"NOAH! DON'T-" screamed Alex but she wasn't quick enough as the shadow completely covered Noah and in the split second she blinked Noah was in a fight with the killer Natalie.

The others plus me ran to get Noah off her but were stopped by the others

I signaled at tarot and felt their voice echo on my head after a second

'their weary and a but scared, they don't know where they are and who you guys are, they can be very hostile so proceed with caution especially after this.' tarots godly voice echoed around in their head and they nodded.

I have to break this up, now.

Quickly I made a shadow portal and stepped in the middle of the fight grabbing Noah by the waist pulling him off Natalie.

"I'm terribly sorry for his behavior, my names dancing death, pleasure to meet you" I said bowing a bit at the end of my sentence

"what's your real name?" said Leo

"Athena" I said, I know I have the name of a Greek goddess, yet we're nothing alike, people tend to make that assumption when I tell them my real name

Yet some of them looked shocked at that

People were suprised but never shocked

Hmm how curious.

"please lower your weapons, we know you don't mean any harm" said night extinguishing the flames he had.

"how could you know that?" said the killer Toby

"if you did" said Alex

"you'd be long gone" finished laureen

It's true, even though they probably couldn't kill them

They could certainly harm them

And we knew they could too

That's why it's better for all of us to calm down

They all seemed to calm down and we all just started at the other

As if we were slowly figuring out who the other was

"please follow me" I said as Noah led the way to the main common room

"so, who are you exactly?" I said as I sat down

"why should we tell you?" said will

"ok, I'll go first then" I already intreduced myself but for the formalities

"I'm the dancing death or death whichever is fine"

"the blonde guy who attacked one of you is called Noah, he's a scientist"

"the tall platinum haired person is called tarot their a god"

"the black haired boy is called night, he has the gift or fire and destruction"

"the light brown haired girl is called laureen, she's half God half human long story"

"and last but not least that's Alex a regular human that has an enchanted bow"

Signaling to the person I'm talking about whenever I start a new presentation

"are you willing to tell us your names now?"

They all stayed quiet and looked at the floor

"Alright then."

Well not the reaction I was expecting but I can't say I'm suprised

"well this has been lovely but sadly we can't just have you waltzing about in here,

Who know maybe you'll tell someone our location

Or our identities" said night standing his eyes a bright red

All of them looked shocked for a second

But only for one, they got to their feet and got on guard

"the quitest guests we've had in a while" said Noah

"I'm sorry it had to end like this" I said as I pulled out a giant scythe and my eyes turned purple as shadows surrounded me and then covered everything around us

Noah went ahead and attacked the guy named Will and the rest of us soon followed each targeting one of them

They were powerful to say the least

They put up a good fight

All of them

Time passed and passed and all that could be hard was the sound of magic wooshing together and the sound of weapons being hit together

Soon a portal appeared behind them with a quick flashing light.

When we opened our eyes nothing was left but some ahshes in the air

I took down the shadows and started at everyone

"I really hope that won't come back to bite us in the ass" said Alex beside me

My mind suddenly flashed with all the opportunities that could happen now that we let MULTIPLE people go

"Oh god" I said outloud

I love Lil Naz X. Their music challenges the norm, and so do they. When I heard that the creators of the Superlunaris Tarot had created a Lil Naz X Tarot trumps deck, i was thrilled! I love Lil Naz X and Superlunaris Tarot, so I ordered a copy right away. I figured that it would be a promotional gimmick as the title of the deck is a play on the albums name and song by the same title. It's also his real name, which I didn't know. What I got was so much more than a promotional item. This trump deck is beautifully done with gorgeous matte cardstock and silver edges. I love how the cards also play with gender roles and ask you to go deep within yourself. Lil Naz X is on every card, and I love how this trump deck asks you to go beyond the gender norm and really see yourself. The art is incredible, and the cards are a joy to shuffle. My only tiny complaints are the fact that the cards come in a hologram bag instead of a box, and on some of the cards, the title is difficult to read, but those two concerns don't get in the way. Don't let that stop you from getting this beautiful Major Arcana deck. 1.I normally would take Ella's words,but like acting cocky about not needing them and Ella would go mad and bother me about it.

2.Ella is smart,I admit, she's like a Dr Eggman but female,but she has compassion and love for everyone.

So when the TrueBlack tarot 5th anniversary edition restocked on Friday, at 9pm, I ordered it immediately.

And today, Monday, like, a single business day later (less than a whole business day?), it is here.

Which is incredible, and also the least incredible thing about this deck.

The packaging makes it an enchanting experience to open, the cloth on the box it not only beautiful but the texture is wonderful to hold. The deck itself is gorgeous, and the holographic foil stamping has an incredibly dramatic effect on the major arcana. The black foil details of the standard edition fade in the background, until they subtly catch your eye and reveal a hidden depth; the rainbow hologram foil of this version makes these details pop out dramatically and inescapably, sometimes dominating the design of the card. I feel like this is an effect that would be best appreciated after spending some time with the standard edition, but that is just my own opinion.

Okay, some background on this deck, it's a 200+ card mismatched tarot deck and there are 9 death cards I believe, unfortunately none of them seem to be shiny. (Forgive me I haven't had it long 😅)
