Now both Radi and Pale King are afraid of Ghost lol. They both had good reason for it, I think. Ghost may be baby but there's a lot they can do and a lot they have done. Their relationship to the void is... Difficult to explain, and trying to do so in a comic would make for a very boring and exposition bloated comic? So I won't try to.

The Pale King knows that something is up, though, because no one should be able to touch him.

Going through my animal communication class notes has me thinking about wyrmbology again and hmmm heavily thinking about making the reason why PK has almost zero visual body language cues going on for him other than his defense pinecone and his angry tail lashing is bc wyrms are blind by nature so intraspecific communication is focused more on sound/touch/scent while the only interspecific cues are hostility and defense. Which means that put that thang into a society with eyes, ears that can't catch the frequencies of most wyrmcalls, and the inability to smell his pheromones, a society and a situation where he is keenly aware that he is the most dangerous thing in the room and thus feels utterly confident in both his territorial standing and safety, and you've got a being that looks basically like a statue and moves like a robot. Utterly unnerving to any not in the know.

I doubt Grimm has seen something like this before, but he's clever and he can guess. The Pale King could not escape his fate forever, just delay it long enough to save what little remains of Hollownest. Just long enough to dethrone the Radiance.

Did he know it would last that long? Maybe. Supposedly he had foresight... Perhaps he didn't see this outcome though, and this is just penance for his experiments with the void...

Sorry for the delay, folks! this page gave me a LOT of trouble for some reason & ended up taking nearly 2 weeks to finish. p sure you can also pinpoint the exact moment I gave up on the backgrounds, lol. these guys are less heavily based on their irl references since only one of them will ever show up outside of flashbacks (and we never see Hegemol outside of his armor, so there's not much to work with… based on the shape he might be a scarab/dung beetle like Ogrim? but who knows…). FINALLY made a proper reference sheet for him for my AU

Mostly took inspo from beetles and centipedes, with earwig pincers on the end of his tail, the elytra and wings were based on the monarch wings (duh), and he's got fur just for fun✨️ Finally gave him a pink tint to his blush and flesh, I figured it'd make more sense since I always drew his blood red (I also tried to include the other side of legs on his tail but his reference looked so crowded with them, just pretend they're there)

The small scar on his right side is from WL, the big one on his left is from The Radiance, and the claw marks are from PV/THK :]]
