Charles and Carlos are so sweet together, and the humour throughout is on point. The both of them are just completely clueless, but the author has written this in a way that clues us, the reader, into the reality of the situation - it's so fun, and so well-written, and such a great start to what I know is going to be an amazing fic!

People Will Say We're in Love by @unabashedlycasualangel | T | 7.1k Charles and Carlos through the eyes of their friends. I love outsider perspective fics - and this one is fantastic! The relationships here - platonic and otherwise - feel so organic and so well-developed. One thing that I really love about this author's writing is their dialogue. It flows so beautifully, and it is a real pleasure to read.

'Pierre turns around. He thinks about friendship. How easily it can turn to love. He thinks about pasta and chess, gasoline fumes and karting under the Normandy sky. He thinks about victory. Everything they write is fantastic! There is such a beautiful build-up of feelings in this one, that feels really natural and really exciting, and it's so much fun to read! This fic is also very, very hot. 10/10!

'Seconds ago, he would’ve kicked Carlos out of his room. He also would’ve lied in bed all night, eyes closed yet mind spinning like it has been for months. He would’ve shown up at the track tomorrow, brain foggy with exhaustion. He might’ve wrecked the car and put everyone on track in harm’s way. He doesn’t know what’s wrong. To say that this fic is beautiful would be an understatement. This story is pure poetry - sun-soaked and golden and gorgeous. I read this in one sitting, paused, read it again, and then shared it in every single Discord server I'm in. The development of Charles and Carlos' relationship is also really beautiful - serious soulmates vibes, in a very ethereal kind of way. I cannot say enough how much I loved this story.

nsfw: what we felt by venerat | E | 14.3k Following a high-intensity moment, Carlos imprints on Charles - they deal with it together. I have never read a story like this before. This is a really lovely fic - it is structured in such a way that you really feel Charles' internal spiral. The tension builds beautifully, and the emotions are so visceral. The world-building is, as always for this author, sublime. Gorgeous.

'Carlos is being so careful. Even when Charles nods, and he moves forward, sliding his arms around Charles—Carlos is being so careful. As if Charles is precious porcelain. Carlos’ arms tighten around his middle, and then loosen. Carlos’ body tenses and relaxes. There is a whoosh of breath against Charles’ hair, as if Carlos is exhaling.'

nsfw: win or lose (it's how you play the game) by @f1-stuff | E | 18.3k Going into the new season, Charles and Carlos make a bet. This story is so much fun. Very much 'Idiots in Love', which is how I like my Charlos! This author's writing style is beautiful, and very easy to read - I loved the plot development here, and the pacing was just perfect. A really great read!

'Now, though, he notices other things, like how Carlos smells like sweat and fuel and something else - coffee? He notices the press of fingertips against his chin, more of a reminder not to squirm away than a proper hold. He feels the steady heat coming off of Carlos from hours spent in the car.'

nsfw: last night by venerat | E | 24.2k Charles attends an American University, and meets Pierre's roommate - things develop. Anything by ao3-user venerat is an insta-recommendation for me, and this is no exception. The world-building and character development here is fantastic - so rich and so unique, with just the most gorgeous chilled atmosphere. It perfectly captures college life. I really, really loved this.

'All of it. Like, love. Take the whole alphabet of any language he knows, and make words that mean the same thing: he and Carlos. Charles, circling him like a moon, hoping that one day the pull of gravity fails.'

In The Reflection by @effervescentdragon | E | 43.8k (wip) Charles is an Engineering student on praxis at Ferrari; Carlos meets him at Singapore, and things spiral. This story is stunning. Carlos and Charles are just completely gone for each other from the outset, and it is so fun to read. This author has the most beautiful writing style, and their characterisation of Carlos is some of my favourite in the whole fandom. Beautiful!

'They cut off at the same time, and after a moment of pause, they both started laughing, and Charles’ laughter was wonderful to Carlos, because it was a bit silly and very honest in its silliness. Charles ducked his head, and the light hit him, and the realisation hit Carlos that Charles wasn't just pretty, he was beautiful.'

Unfortunately, I have been struck with writers block. Yes. Apparently churning out long chapters week by week is too much for me now (ADHD is also a funny thing. Especially unmedicated) Which means I'm extremely fucked. Hopefully my brain will not knock up even further as this easter celebration comes, since it would be a busy time for me and my muse isn't available rn. Plus that chapter is heavy and I don't want to fuck it up AT all.

Hi there! I'm Matthew/Dean/Incubae and my pronouns are He/Him. I've been roleplaying for 5+ years, and roleplay only in literate style on Discord. My responses range upwards of 2 paragraphs, though I really prefer long, detailed posts. I am 18, and only rp with people also 18+. I'm an aspiring novelist and love to talk about my characters and WIPs, but will also greatly invest myself in roleplays. I am interested in both fandom and oc rps. I'd like to mention that, even though I don't want the plot to revolve around it, I prefer my roleplays to have smut/nsfw elements and if that makes you uncomfortable, please don't start writing with me. BEST EXPERIENCE : i've rped on three different platforms before and tumblr rp is the most gratifying. I also like to roleplay on closed groups, i know that this is not common for anime rp but it guarantees that there's always someone eager to thread. Other than that, so far this experience has been quite nice!

RP PET PEEVES / DEALBREAKERS : jealousy/shipcasing- I don't mind people coming to me and immediately asking to ship however don't start preventing me from plotting with someone else, it's immediate blocking. This has happened to me several times in the past where as soon as the ship would be in the plans the person would start bombarding me about threads with other people out of jealousy. If your character is jealous keep it IC please and please avoid godmodding. If we discussed it it'll happen, but i'm not writing exclusively with you please understand that.

ghosting- It's ok if you take your time replying but if you're not feeling a thread anymore or don't really feel like plotting i would rather you tell me this than just leading me on. I will be madder to be left on read than to be told the truth. It's ok if you're no longer feeling like writing with me, it happens but don't leave me talking to the wall.

this is more of a closed rp thing but bubble rp-this is mostly when a group of people only rp with each other exclusively without interacting with the rest. i know that in the situation of indie rp that's not exactly an issue but this is a big deal for closed groups. everyone deserves a chance to write with you as much as you with them, respect those who put effort to reach out to plot with you and actually do it.

MUSE PREFERENCES: oh boy... i tend to write edgy, apathetic, rageful characters a lot. I don't know what that says about me but honestly it's the ones i feel most comfortable writing.

better known as jamie (not james) kim, kim yubin's a california boy who's found his way to seoul with lukewarm dreams(?) of becoming a kpop idol.

quick tl;dr of his relevant journey: joined lgc in july 2021 by sheer happenstance. it's been two long years and he's still not sure if this is what he's allowed(?) to do, but for now he's trying to dabble in a little bit of everything to figure out what he likes, and works his ass off regardless of what he does bc it's in his nature. he doesn't have a self-declared focus, but his (current) penchant is for rap.

vs. what he'd put on his hinge profile: fluent in english and korean, the proud owner of two on-and-off dimples that may as well be a craters, and his t-shirt's made of boyfriend materi—

family bg: born to an affluent family of doctors. literally. all doctors, all successful, all brilliant. he's the youngest of four (three older sisters) and the black sheep of the family because he's... well, not exactly studying for the mcat right now. he's smart and hard-working, but certainly doesn't think he is - growing up in the shadows of steep expectations will do that to ya.

for as critical of himself as he is, however, he likes to keep most of his neuroses strictly to himself. you will not get him to be vulnerable without an ample amount of kicking and screaming.

self-inflicted mental saw traps aside, yubin comes across as remarkably... well, unconcerned on the outside. he's a flippant person who has zero issues making small talk with complete strangers. he's candid, straightforward, and he's got a wicked sharp wit and a penchant for dramatics. he's a funny guy! sarcasm is his crutch! and he'd much rather you laugh at or with him than see him cry.

WANTED CONNECTIONS

in desperate need of: friends. and specifically: friends who will put up with him whipping his head around dramatically every time you whisper "look at the hot person behind you but don't make it obvious" (he would be such a good wingman fyi)

best friends! but just a couple, max. he's a closed off person so if he did have any best friends that might have a better grasp of the inner workings of kim yubin, it's a limited number, and you've probably known him since he joined lgc (or longer—he's not a seoul native, but he was in town most summers). fair warning that he will be calling you his work wife/husband (it's a show of affection).

at the back of my mind, he is very loudly like "i would rather die than have feelings for someone" so naturally i feel inclined to write out a terrible ex plot. or a crush plot. or both. any breakup with him was probably messy and might be accompanied by some resentment (at least from his end), and any crush he could possibly have will be saddled with internal conflict. let's give it up for being unlovable!

no one's seen him cry except maybe a close friend or his sisters but you happen to catch him at the worst possible time and he is now avoiding you like his life depends on it. even if it means hiding behind a potted plant the second he sees you down the hall.

someone go on a perilous hike with him where you end up terribly lost and start to think you may have to spend the last moments of your life in each other's company so you might as well dish out all of your regrets and dashed hopes, right? it's not like you're just meters away from the path you were supposed to be on, right? good thing neither of you are drama queens, right???

if you would like to entertain the idea of having an inconsequential crush on the most charmless guy alive, please do so because he'd be so so uncomfortable with the concept of it and it'd be funny.

familial connection — he joined lgc back in july 2021 with his cousin (female), and she is 100% the reason why he's here. he's all about tough love and being mister sass pants so no one figures out just how much he cares about them, but he would do just about anything for his family and he's especially close to her.

Now, when it comes to the roleplay: I am looking to mainly play as one of the KFC crew ( kris, frisk, chara ). I typically play as Frisk, but I also can take up Kris or Chara if needed. I’ve been writing for fun for the past few years, it really helped me through the pandemic and I got to meet so many awesome people through it! I have to be honest, the major reason I’m not comfortable writing on tumblr anymore is bc the rp community here is so lost to the culture they’ve created. if I know you and I follow you I certainly want to write with you (again, hmu for my discord!) but I just can’t do it anymore, man

I’ll put this under a read more bc it got way longer than I meant for it to, but I also want to be very clear: don’t read this if you’ll get upset. DO NOT READ THIS IF YOU’LL GET UPSET. I need to vent about this but I don’t want anybody to stress themselves out over it. this isn’t about anyone specifically, it’s about… honestly, almost everyone I’ve interacted with on here.

there is an outstanding a mount of purity culture here, even more than mainstream tumblr, which is wild.

people should’ve have to share personal info in order to write on here. you shouldn’t have to share your age, your name, your pronouns, your time spent rping, in order to be considered ‘legitimate.’ if someone has never rped before and they want to get into, they should be just as welcome as someone who’s been here for years. discriminating against teenagers because you feel guilty talking to teens is weird. it’s one thing to not want to write smut with somebody under eighteen, it’s another thing to block anybody under 21 that tries to interact with you in any way. that’s weird! why are you doing that! they’re just interested in your writing!

I mean, how did you guys start rping? all of the people that say they’ve been doing it for years? did you pop up suddenly with all the experience, or did you follow blogs you liked? did you make cringey threads and bad writing choices? did you daydream about your characters when you were in class? I’d be willing to bet you did. and acting like they can’t handle the violence or the deep subjects in the content you write is insulting.

again, putting your smut threads under a read more or asking them not to follow if you mostly write smut is one thing, but I have ABSOLUTELY seen rules pages talking about not feeling comfortable writing with anyone under 21 about suicide, violence, drug abuse, etc. do you think the movies they watch don’t have all that in it? (do you think they suddenly pop up at 21 with all the knowledge of the world?)

and don’t get me started on the ‘they’re just so much younger than me it feels uncomfortable’ thing, which is MUCH more valid and I understand it, but teens aren’t going to learn anything if they don’t have older friends to teach them.

most of all, over anything else, what really prevents me from returning is the blocking culture here. it’s horrible. blocking somebody you don’t like or feel weird about is totally understandable! what’s Not understandable is doing that to a FRIEND. if you’ve been talking to somebody ooc, talking to them daily about unrelated things, if you’ve been hanging out for weeks, why the fuck would you block them without saying anything? just hit the button and leave? why is it acceptable to just… not do any communication whatsoever? if they made you angry, hurt your feelings, broke a rule, whatever, fucking TALK to them. don’t block somebody because they annoyed you one time, what the fuck.

and it all makes me so sad because like… this is where I’ve made so many of my friends. I have friends I’ve had for a decade that I met through rp. I wouldn’t have those friends if these rules had been in place. the reason these things upset me so much is because they didn’t used to be here! people used to rp with non-mutuals, even! nobody ever formatted anything, aesthetics didn’t matter, it was just about having fun. and now it’s more about making sure you’re performing all the right little rituals so you don’t get pushed to the side.

anyway, if you feel like blocking me or making a callout or whatever you’re welcome to do so, I truly cannot think of returning to tumblr rp anymore

divorce arc my beloved

finally got the first 2/3 arc of my hangster divorce fic outlined. Here's a sneak peak at act 1 scene 1 & 2 & Act 2 scene 2 (my fav angst - ie the actual convo that leads to the divorce)

ACT 1 Scene 1 

from when they meet to when they fall in love

they meet in a bar in Tennessee when they were both running away from their pasts and towards something they wanted to be

They seduced each other and somehow it was an instant connection even as strangers.

then they hooked up and became vulnerable, telling each other their secrets not knowing they’ll be seeing each other again

they meet again in flight school. WHOOPS - now they know more 

they fucked around and fell in love 

they decide to say fuck it and be who they are, who they could be both in flight school and in their own personal lives (Renegades) Bradley being himself vs Goose Mav clone, Jake being someone other than a Seresin, the perfect son he left behind

they were great together in flight school. they didn’t mingle with the rest much, they only cared about getting through and getting deployed and being with each other

ACT 1 Scene 2

Jake takes Bradley home to meet mama seresin and sis + B proposing in malibu during vacation + small wedding + honeymoon somewhere 

first time Jake brings Bradley home is after flight school before deployment. He brings B to the Seresin farm. B gets Jake's sister to help him propose to Jake 

he proposes at Malibu on vacation (a couple of days), they get married next week in a chapel (only them and momma seresin and sis)

Jake tried to get Mav and Ice for the wedding but he didn't mention it properly and so it didn't even get to them personally, it just stopped at Ice's secretary who told Ice some random naval cadet sent an invite (this was pre TOP GUN so pre-Hangman being well known, before they were lieutenants)

B doesn't know Jake invited them. They get married.

They honeymoon wherever they get stationed (they get stationed together for a while and it doesn't matter if they’re in carriers a lot cuz like - they get days off on shore and they’re together so it’s fine)

And im going to skip a few parts (because Im not giving everything away) and go to the divorce hehe

ACT 2 Scene 2

the breakup and divorce

Jake comes back from deployment ready to talk but finds B drinking. Angry. Not talking. (they had a fight before this)

Jake asks what’s wrong, B doesn’t reply. Doesn’t say shit. 

They get into another fight. B throws out things like Jake can’t even be a good husband and be there for him, not be there for family

Jake tries to explain that he lost a wingman and he was not ok and that B wasn’t there for him either. That Jake needed time to fix himself first

Then B says something really stupid: that he should have known to expect Jake to not be there because ofc what else is he known for if not leaving people hanging out to dry. just like how he lost his wingman. 

“Too busy chasing a kill to be there for those that need you and it kills them. Why did I think you’d be here for me” (he’s projecting bc he just was so angry)

That was too far. “Then if you always knew you couldn’t trust me, then why did you marry me?” 

B can’t answer. He knows he can tell so many reasons, but he doesn’t know if all that applies to Hangman. Not now. 

Now they were trying to stay still in one place and build something and neither knows how to do it while still figuring out their careers.

J: Why did you marry me Bradley?

B: because it was easy. Don’t know if that’s true anymore. 

I have 2k outline done for everything pre-mission. please give me encouragement cus idk if I will actually end up writing all this o my own (motivation is hard to find lol) but ya if anyone wants to know more just hmu here or on discord :)
