Thanks to Curieously for finding this wonderfully quaint 1830 artist's home and art gallery in Bristol, ME. Just look at that little pink windmill. 6bds, 2ba, $625K.

The entrance to the home is so pretty, I love informal gardens.

Love that everything is so original. The fireplace is wonderful and so is the wide plank floor with a worn path to the next room. What a cozy living room.

Lovely dining room. The vintage fixture above fits perfectly. It's a simple home, no need for a fancy chandelier.

The kitchen has just enough modernization and those floors!

The simple cabinets and worn finish make it look as if they might be original.

Original hearth, but I wonder if they put a wall over the original fireplace.

This is a beautiful room with the little turret-like bumpout.

They are focusing on the fireplaces in the home. Maybe this is a bedroom

And, this room is lined with wide plank knotty pine, although I suspect that it's fairly recent.

The wood in this 1849 home is insanely gorgeous. It's in Vicksburg, MS, has 8bd, 8ba, $749,900.

Inner doors open to the entrance hall. Look at how tall the doorways are and the crown molding is still intact.

The details on the stairs are stunning. Look the intricate carving on the newel post and the way it fans out. The floor was replaced and they chose the 2-tone look to tie in with the gorgeous woods.

The reception room is being used as a pool room. It has a lovely original fireplace.

The sitting room has a beautiful alcove, floor-to-ceiling shelving, and a lovely oak fireplace.

The sitting room shares the space with the dining room.

The kitchen renovation is cute. I like the creamy color of the cabinetry.

Went to the Peter Wentz’s farm today, which was Washington’s HQ before and after the Battle of Germantown! Washington actually paid back the invoices given to him by the Wentz family, which is very kind of him considering he and his army of twenty somethings ate their food and slept in their house for several days. More importantly yada yada battles cool yeah there were POLKA DOTS. POLKA DOTS EVERYWHERE. The original wall even shows that the polka dots are historically accurate and were original to the house. They also have sheep and cows and it’s very scenic. Visit if you can!
