congrats on 1k!!! 💙💙🌻🌻 I would like to request Eddie and my favorite song of the moment which is 'House Song' by Searows. it's kinda sad but cozy, so feel free to go easy on my heart and not write it angsty. or do. 😭🥰

thank you bluey <3 oh my word, this is my first time hearing this song and it is so terribly cozy and yet so sad in such a familiar way. i chose to focus on the lyric "something inside of me is rotten, i have to find it and cut it out", and also was inspired by the line from Euripides in which Orestes says "it's rotten work." and Pylades replies "not to me. not if it's you."

also, totally unrelated, but if i could lock this piece away in my soul until my days end, i would. i got way too carried away and made a fool of myself i fear.

People do not make good homes.

It is a hard lesson Eddie has had to learn in his twenty three years of life. 

Wide, innocent eyes are not open windows with billowing curtains. Caressing limbs are not bed sheets to wrap you up on wintry mornings. Pursed lips are not crackling speakers bleeding out familiar tunes as a record turns against a needle. Soft kisses aren’t the scent of clean laundry, tired yawns aren’t creaks from the attic, and ribs are not enough to build up the four walls to make a home. 

It happens every time; Eddie lets someone in, he opens himself up and lets the vulnerability drip from him in waves, until the fatal day comes in which suddenly the front door is closed on him, never to open again. The locks have been changed, the windows have been slammed shut, the sheets have been tucked under mattresses to grow cold. All the familiar, comforting old vinyls lay to rest and gather dust in a crate in the corner of abandoned rooms. 

People do not make good homes. He has come to accept this. Until she came along. 

Maybe her soft eyes weren't open windows to let in a summer’s breeze, but he swore he could still see the sun pouring in through their freshly painted panes. Maybe her steady arms weren’t clean sheets from the dryer, but they still blanket him in warmth all the same when they’d wrap their way around his waist. Whenever she’d open her mouth and give him a glimpse into her mind, it didn’t sound like his uncle’s old albums. It was something new, an unfamiliar melody he could neither tune out nor hum along to. She was a labyrinth of possibilities, a new shiny two-story house with the picket white fence. Bare feet against wooden floors that didn’t creak with protest, shimmering light fixtures that didn’t flicker with uncertainty, a front door swung wide open as if to say, come in. Make yourself at home. 

And when he made no move to come inside, when he stayed planted in the pristine front yard clear of weeds and verdant with hope, she had simply left the porch light on for him. She shut the door, but she never turned the lock. A reassurance that her offer still stood, in soft smiles and understanding nods, until he was ready. 

People should not make good homes. But then again, people like her existed. 

Eddie kept up the battle long enough. But eventually, the war inside his mind had raged long enough, and he walked up those front porch steps. He reached out for the unlocked door, and it was a breath of relief when it opened for him with a gentle click. She never locked him out. She had kept her promise of an offer. And when he finally arrived in the entryway, when he finally breached the threshold, she was waiting there, eager and gentle and beautiful, already reaching for his coat. She had been waiting. Always waiting, always patient. Just for him.

Her walls were fresh with paint, layering over any imperfections left behind by previous tenants. All scuff marks left by kitchen screaming matches had long been buffed out of mahogany boards. There are no ticks in door frames to account for the change of her height over the years, no frames of the ones before him she had let in. No signs of anyone having made her house a home before him. He couldn’t see her history in the way she could see his. Instead, he had to listen to it. Over cups of lukewarm coffee made just the way he likes it, over photo albums she describes that sit in a box in the attic, left to rot but never be forgotten. He learns of her past as she speaks of it as if it didn’t happen to her, as if it had been some movie she’d seen on late night television. And his heart aches. Because as she tells him all this, as she hands over a key to her heart and shows him how to unlatch her bay windows, he can see what her eyes beg of him. 

This has never been a home before. Please, make this house a home. Please.

But he’s terrified. His past is a conglomeration of abandoned cookie cutter homes, void of the warmth he feels beneath her surface. A doom town waiting for the atomic explosion. That’s what he is – the atomic explosion. He is the chaos and the destruction, the thing to burn down all that he holds sacred. It wasn’t hard to figure out; he had always been the common denominator in his own rotation of his own tenants. He’s terrified to add her home onto the end of the street, to lay in wait for the day he ruins all that they are. All that she is. 

But then she’s kissing him. She’s kissing him, and she’s holding him, and she’s reading her favorite books aloud to him in the afternoon lulls, and he can’t help but indulge. Because she’s home. She’s baked cookies and framed photos of better days. She’s hot chocolate and white Christmas mornings. She’s strong oak trees in the backyard and fresh cut flowers in the kitchen. 

People do not make good homes. But she is more than a metaphor.

The key to her hangs heavy on his keyring, but it is worth the weight on nights like tonight. Nights where he watches the rise and fall of her chest as her cheeks presses to his bare shoulder, her hand still curled around his even in her sleep. She loves him, she waits for him, she makes him feel more at home than anyone has in his twenty three years of life. Even after she had discovered the rot deep inside of him, she stayed and persisted as she digs it out and places down new baseboards, prepared to stand by his side as he makes the necessary renovations to himself that have been years in the making. She’s everything to him. She’s his home, his past be damned. 

People do not always make good homes. They are nothing more than houses, and just because the lights are on in the windows does not mean they are meant to be the place you lay your head to rest. They do not come prefilled with the love and warmth that is needed to be good homes. It is a process, aching and terrible and hard enough work that most people will not bother. But with her in his arms, Eddie thinks he is finally learning what it means to make a house a home. 

It was never about him making her house a home. It was about him finding home in himself, with her picture on his bedside table and her breath on his neck as she rests easy beside him. This lesson, as it turns out, wasn’t quite as hard to learn.

louis' character in It's Fine To Fake It Til You Make It is soooo good, I keep thinking back to that fic and to him and I feel like he's so singular, the characterisation really sticks out, you did such a great job!!

ANYWAY in the meantime I've read "down the line" (I finished a few weeks ago) AND I LOVED IT (perhaps I just really love everything you write). THE SLOW BURN WAS SO GOOD like sisksksk the way that Harry has a crush on Louis so early on is so cute compared to how Louis is like "I 😡 dislike 😡 this 😡 man 😡 that 😡 I 😡cannot😡take😡my😡eyes😡off😡and😡who😡so😡PURPOSELY😡hit😡my😡knee😡SOOO😡MUCH😡😡 also 😡 have 😡 i 😡 mentioned 😡 he 😡 has 😡 dimples? 😡 DIMPLES😡" sjsjsj also I loved Louis SO MUCH??? I want to be his friend. And I REALLY WANT TO GO TO CLEVELAND. your description of places/locations always makes me want to go to visit them. it's insane but everything seems so idyllic and has a certain stillness (or sadness?) that makes me want to DIVE!! into them. and that's that on your great descriptive skills.

Something that I reaaaaally loved about this fic though was the side characters! The team definitely felt like a little family (I loved Micah and James) and their dynamic was so heartwarming plus THE PRANKS AND FAB FIVE AND WATCHING AVENGERS IN HOTEL ROOMS 😭 i just loved loved reading this. 

i havent started the extra innings (yet!) but I'm really excited to see some things from Harry's pov, he was probably my favourite character (I loved Louis A LOT and I related to him so much sometimes but there was something about harry that was so amusing, he's a comfort character for me).

Anyway, I actually started writing this now because I JUST SAW THAT YOU POSTED WRITE THIS DOWN (FROM THE VAULT) AND I'M SCREAMING. I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES WHEN I SAW IT. I'M STILL SMILING WHILE LOOKING AT AO3 TO CONFIRM THAT IT'S NOT A DREAM CAUSE LIKE. AAAA. I'm so excited to read it. I still haven't but like. Well, you see, to me it's like what's the point of me 'kinda' knowing these languages, if I cannot communicate. I can't consider being able to read as an achievement :( English is my only pride even though I make probably tones of mistakes, but I can freely speak on it. So you are, bestie, incredibly cool in my books knowing Spanish and English!! And Spanish is such a beautiful, melodic and lyrical language. It is also the one I want to learn someday and often I beat myself that I didn't choose to learn it at college meh. I'm planning on seriously to take up French, when I'm finally out of college, which is luckily soon.

When I thought I couldn't appreciate you more, you've proven me wrong... I deeply love and adore people like, who want to bring something good and prosperous into educational system!! There should be more teachers like you, who want this job, who understand the depth and value of this tough profession and who want to encourage children to seek knowledge. You are amazing! I know that you will achieve it all, you will do such awesome things, I believe in you💙

No hate to Australia, it seems beautiful really. But definitely ruled off my list.

Don’t sell yourself short bestie. You’re a badass in my eyes. English isn’t all that easy either so the fact that you can communicate so well is enough to be proud of. Spanish is harddd, even I sometimes will be like ‘no I said it wrong let me try again’ but I encourage learning it to add to your list! And YES don’t give up on French. I can tell it’s something you want to learn for yourself. If we give up on things we love them what else is there to do on our time on earth!

Thank you bestie! You’ve managed to put a smile on my face yet again. It’s not an easy profession for sure but to me it’s definitely worth it. I feel as though it’s one of those that you get home exhausted but part of you feels fulfilled no matter how your day went. I’m excited for it truly.

Yikes tough question.. see angst is really draining for me to write even though I think I’m better at describing heart break or just sadness in general. But I think I have to be in that state to actually write it. Smut is fun and I enjoy writing it but there comes a point where it sounds too repetitive. So I think my answer is fluff. Fluff can be very corny and cheesy but it’s amusing seeing what I can come up with. After all, I’m just a delusional girlie who is projecting. What’s your favorite to read?

   We rolling deep with the blue hearts for INDIGO this week 😭😭😭😭✨ Hi! Hello! Holaaaaaa!!!!! How has your week been so far? I’m writing this a day ahead and it’s the night time and Nox is laying next to me as I write on my phone. It’s been a while since I used my phone to write because I have been at my desk more to write for the past two years and I decided to just lay down and relax my back for once 😂But, it’s a chilly night and the heater is on and I’m all comfy next to my cat child.🥰 It’s nice. Self-care is also just being wrapped into a cocoon while your cat just stares at you and cleans her paws for the night lmao 🤣 Also, y’all I added Austria to my list of places I wish to go to as a goal to go during Christmas one of these years. My sister told me about how it looks in Austria during Christmas and it is FREAKING GORGEOUS AND THEY KNOW HOW TO GET INTO THE SPIRIT. Look at pictures of AUSTRIA DURING CHRISTMAS and tell me you would not want to teleport there right now. Lol It is officially on my bucket list. THE SNOW, THE MARKETS, THE CAROLERS, THE SHOPS, THE CAFES, THE FREAKING LIGHTS, AND THE FOOOOOOOOD!!! AHHHHHHHH. Lol I would enjoy it so much and just imagine the pictures and snow moments. My heart is crying😭

  To continue forward, ahhh!!! I wanted to show you more laughter and a ton of tears and more than usual. Lol Indigo is an experience and I had a lot of thoughts. I talk about my favorite parts of each song in multiple videos and I just can’t with Wild Flower. That track makes me cry and it’s just something else for me and I feel it and I cried through talking about it near the end. I just couldn’t hold it in. It’s just beautiful. And I say this in the beginning but my opinion is based on just listening to the album a lot of times and looking at the lyrics. I went into it not seeing any interviews or lives nor the music videos. Once I post this I would have already seen them lol but I wanted to write raw and with what I felt with my own imagery and feelings and with a small bit of what I saw here and there from ARMY. 💜 Enjoy! Haha Joonie you really did a solid album. Thank you for working hard and for all the artists you worked with even the BTS CREW behind the scenes and producers. It is an album that has felt hearty and has made me feel a lot. It’s been a while since a track has made me feel the way it did and you worked hard. I love it. 💙 Thank you for making me cry and thank you for speaking words that spoke to me in more than just the physical and the sound. My heart was touched. I won’t say more because I say it all in the videos lol believe me. Haha But, watch with headphones on, or if you are in a place alone because I curse a lot in them and I cry and I mean I cry and talk near the end lol I was letting myself feel. Be warned. I will say that long story short not just with Wild Flower as a track, but the album feels like a death of your past and a rebirth of something not new but of what is to come and who you are becoming. Each track has some sorrow to it at least to me it does but in a poetic sense and I dig it. It just made me feel this outlook of letting go of what was and I am going to keep growing where I want to and just be free and flow where my growth takes me like a Wild Flower. 🌼 I felt something beyond just peace.    I also found some of my past photos where I did a Daisy photo shoot from back in 2020 and I waited to make edits with your ENTIRETY folio for this day lol and I added some of my favorite lyrics from each of the tracks in INDIGO. I hope everyone can enjoy those too. I got inspired after I heard your album for the first time and I put two and two together. 💕 I say this in one of the posts, but I really did feel like a little Thumbelina with Joon and my heart was so warm. I really love the story of Thumbelina too. She is like a small flower child who falls for a flower fairy prince and Joonie is like a flower prince to me and I love it. 😭

   To continue this letter, I wanted to talk about Jin’s Bday live. I don’t know if you left yet Jin but either way, I’m writing this and I posted some pics with RJ for you 😂😂😂 I wanted to copy your weverse post with Wootteo but with RJ instead haha Since this is like your last live until you come back I just wanted to bring up some points lol:

-Thank you for coming even though you didn’t plan on it fully. It’s the effort that counts.😭 I was not expecting it either and when I saw my notifications I was shocked yet happy.😭😭😭😭 Thank you, Jin, I love you.💕

-you didn’t shower for a while haha I love the honesty. Being a homebody is nice.😆 But I think it’s nice you are enjoying some time to chill out before you go.

-We finally get to see GIANT RJ UP CLOSE IN A LIVE AND I AM LIVING!!!! It really is like the best decoration in your house next to Hobi’s bike saddle lol 😂 But the GIANT WOOTTEO is cool too. Ahhhh I got excited because we only got to see RJ in photos but up close in a live is next level. 😭😭😭😭

-“I am only friends with old men.” I relate but in general with older people because I was surrounded by my grandparents a lot as a kid lol my communication skills with people my age never shined. I either came off as a recluse, intimidating, extra, or not as interesting. Lol only a select few that are my age or younger saw above that and I am happy with that. I’m fine with only a select few really getting to know me. Lol Like you said Jin, the most important people wished you Happy Birthday and that is what matters here. I love the sentiment you lead that with. My sister is also like four years older than me and we get along so well lol

-“ARMY knows more about me.” Lol Nah,  I can say I feel your energy a certain way and if it’s true that’s cool but I can’t define you fully. That’s up to you. Haha I don’t even know who I am fully even if I say certain things about myself and we are all just figuring out about ourselves each day. -With three concepts. It was nice to know that you woke up at the crack of dawn to do them like 4 am. That’s wild and thank you for working hard. Yeah, the members did multiple concepts and makeup and outfits but they did it from their own creativity and personality and your personality stood clear as day to me when you spoke about how you like things intuitive and you did just that with your photos. Three concepts that give these three words meaning: KEEPING IT SIMPLE. It’s your style and you did it the way you would have. Each member has their energy and vibe and yours is that of simple intuitiveness so you did it justice, honey. 💪✨It did give off familiar handsomeness with three different concepts. 😎

But then I also want to be a recluse hacker that stays at home eating ramen all day while I code and get concert tickets in my spare time.Lol but I also would like to have a lifetime where I experience just pure love in many different ways.  I wanted to also talk to HOBI about his OSAKA VROOM VROOM PERFORMANCE at MAMA lol I saw your live too Hobi and I did not get to see MAMA when it was MKMF lol I read that it switched its logo and name in 2009. Lol I was not aware of the award show at that time until later down the next years after. So, it went from it being called Mnet Korean Music Festival to Mnet Asian Music Awards. That’s interesting lol I learned something new today. From my own perspective, I always saw MAMA like the Grammys but in Asia just like the Latin Grammys lol So, I always saw it as prestigious to be awarded at that awards show too and I can see why it is also special to even now receive and be honored awards not just for BTS but also for yourself as a solo artist.  And yes I saw the speech with Jin too lol over the phone. That was cute but I feel it was a nice touch and maybe it made you less nervous to be up there on your own accepting awards. Haha YOU DID WELL,  HONEY. YOUR FIT WAS SERVING,  YOUR SMILE WAS GIVING, AND YOUR PERFORMANCE CAME WITH PURPOSE AND DID ITS THING. 👏👏👏  I just wanted to also validate what you said about being disappointed and talking about how you felt before and during your performance. I think that a performance never goes with full satisfaction for every artist and performer as you all are always moving and changing and trying to evolve to each situation with your work and that’s a given. I think the fact that you feel unsatisfied but also grateful for the experience just proves you are doing your job well. You are a true performer because even after almost a decade of doing this you still care about your stage presence and that speaks more.  You started as a rookie and today you have the heart of when you were a rookie and it makes me feel proud of you because of that fact alone. That passion is still there and you take it seriously even after all this time. You didn’t simmer. You only grew that flame more and kept it alive. I love you, Hobi.❤️‍🔥  But, as a watcher I think your performance was like that of a show, especially near the end with ARSON.🔥That small minute when you paused with both your arms up and the fire was burning and then the dancers/BTS CREW came in was so SICK!!!!  That reminded me of a BTS performance but in your style and it was explosive in many ways!!! I LOVED IT!! The beginning with MORE was insane as well. I saw the dance practice with your borahae sweater lol and it is just so in sync and it was like seeing art come alive. The way you moved intuitively with the beat and your body just went with it and you got into the music just felt liberating yet constrained and I loved it. It gave what the lyrics to MORE did with this essence that you want to do more and give it your all but there are still thoughts and doubts that keep you from fully letting it out and your body was showing that with the flow. ME GUSTO MUCHO!!! Haha also, I thought it was cute how you move on purpose when you get nervous. Lol Jimin really does have that healing effect with his presence.😭 But,  I am glad you pulled through and it really didn’t show once you got up there and got into your zone. 👍 Also, I really loved when you said this: “I think my life has always been like that too. I need to experience and feel it…even if I am afraid of it.” Yes. 💜 I dig it. Everything is scary in this world, but you can only hope to understand it all by taking the first step into it. It is kind of like the saying, “Fortune favors the brave who take the steps to do something even if it seems scary or insane or even impossible to others.” ✨

  Also, “Where are the other kookies?” Lmaooooo Hobi, I don’t know if you found out already but its an inside joke from Qatar and Kook because of what the CEO of Katar studios, Ahmed Al Baker was asked in an interview about where the rest of Bangtan was. Lol But, the interviewer, Abdullah, said along the lines, “I got so many compliments about Kookie. Why did you guys bring Kookie only and not the other Kookies?”  Lol Kookies is code for BANGTANNIES. Hehe I will post a link to the references so you get what I mean. It is so funny but freaking CUTE. Jungkook, you are the Kookie but you should also be proud Bangtan got referenced as Kookies.     I shall go now for this week.  I need to fix my life lol something about this month has me in a procrastinated mess.
