Porsche 911 ‘Special Experimental Project,’ 2022. A pair of specially prepared 992 series 911 Carrera 4S cars have been tested on the slopes of the Ojos del Salado in Chile, the world's highest volcano. The cars reached a maximum altitude of 19,808 feet (6,007 meters). Modifications include a repositioned cooling system, portal axles and all-terrain tires to provide 350 mm (13.7 inches) of ground clearance, and lower gear ratios. The cars are also fitted with a Porsche Warp-Connector, originally conceived for motorsports. The device forms a mechanical link between all four wheels to keep them constantly under load when the chassis is undergoing extreme articulation. The cars were created purely for experimental purposes and are not prototypes for an off-road 911 though Porsche is still considering a "more adventurous" version of the car.

I still have so many photos from the mountains to look through and export at tumblr-friendly sizes. School has started up again, so I've had a lot less time to comb through the literally thousands of photos I took over the course of just 4 high-altitude days in August - meanwhile I'm still going on walks and shooting stuff around town just for sanity's sake, and I tend to work on processing and exporting those little batches as I go. Eventually I'll get through all of it, though!
