It's the first time you've really touched, and god, the spark flying thing may seem like a fairytale, but you both swear in that moment that you actually get a shock from the touch. Of course, his hand lingers a little longer than necessary as you stare at each other just vaguely holding hands. Your brain catches up, and you start moving, but god, you wish that moment could've dragged on forever, as does Matty.

As soon as you and Matty get properly talking, you end up walking with them for a longgg time. One house in particular though makes a mistake that lives on in infamy in your relationship in the future.

“oh god, that one house that thought we were together, that moment was on replay in my head for weeks after. The idea that someone else could see us together just confirmed to me I was head over heels for you, and then sadly solidified that it couldn't happen after you corrected her and I was sharply reminded you were my daughter's teacher”

Maybe it's an older woman who opens the door and jumps at mayhem originally but is soon cooing over him and giving him milk bones, “What a pretty boy” and Annie is giggling and telling the woman all about her “horse dog” (nice reference btw bff anon I love u).

Soon, she looks up and actually addresses you and Matty, “Sorry! You must be mum and dad. What a lovely little girl you've raised, and what a beautiful couple you are! Reminds me of me and my husband, constantly talking and laughing” You and matty just stand there open-mouthed like fish for a good few seconds. Annie is, of course, laughing hysterically. You both stutter out explanations, “Oh no-” “Oh I'm actually her teacher. It's a funny story so they knocked and i was like-” Of course, the woman apologised profusely, but the comment haunts you and Matty for WEEKS.

Perhaps a few more people coo at your “lovely family” and perhaps you just… stop correcting them…

Cut to Matty talking to himself (and mayhem) at 3 a.m. in the kitchen whilst making tea, “No it's totally normal people thought that. Man + woman + child + dog = family. and so what we stopped correcting them?? That's normal too… We just got sick of it. And it's also fine that it made me feel weird. It was a weird situation. Anyone would get butterflies at someone saying they're a nice couple. Right, mayhem?” and Mayhem somehow gives him a look that says “Really?” and Matty sighs and nods.

I think this might be the moment he goes “fuck.” and realises he really does like you. And he just… freaks out. Calls Ross and talks a million miles an hour.

him and annie showing up to the dance and they're both so fucking cute. Annie is in a sparkly dress and looks adorable, matty is in normal clothes but you can see the lapels of his jacket are covered in stickers from Annie.

you obviously go over and speak to them, "Hi guys! wow, Annie, you look amazing! are you excited about the Christmas dance?" and annie eagerly nods and drops her dad's hand, running off to see her friends.

matty goes to shout after her but gives up and just watches her dance and giggle.

"I'm loving the stickers by the way, I'm assuming they are yours?" Your voice pulls matty back, and he quickly re-focuses on you.

or he tries to, but then gets distracted by how beautiful you look. the decorated hall with all the snowflakes and lights is the perfect backdrop for you, matty can't help but skirt his eyes over you for a few seconds too long...

Once he comes back to earth, he laughs lightly at your joke and answers, "ah yeah you caught me, I love paw patrol stickers"

later on, the dj does a group announcement that it's time for the parents to get on the dance floor, and matty initially shakes his head at annie.

he dances all day like a twat in front of stadiums, but a room full of 5 year olds are a lot more ruthless. and he's not sure he can cope with the embarrassment of you watching him. (Little does he know he couldn't do anything that would make you less in love with him)

but one shaky lip and a pair of sad eyes later and he's on the dance floor doing everything he can to make annie giggle.

you are just watching with the biggest grin on your face, seeing Annie laughing so hard, and matty being the best dad makes your heart so warm. (the school receptionist who ships you and matty is eyeing you both eagerly, watching the love swirl in your eyes)

you yearn to be over there with them. Maybe if you were with matty, he'd be spinning you around and dancing silly with you and annie. maybe he'd hold her, and you'd all dance as a family. later on, you'd do a slower dance. He'd act cheesy and dip you dramatically before kissing you.

on the drive home, you'd all sing to Christmas songs in the car. At the house, you would make hot chocolates for everyone and curl up on the sofa to watch home alone. Annie would curl up with mayhem, and you'd do the same with matty.

but that's not reality for you. So for now, you just watch.

Different Love Languages

Summary: Hufflepuff is the type of person to express her love verbally but Slytherin is different; he hardly says “I love you” and Hufflepuff worries that maybe it’s because he doesn’t love her as much as she loves him. Our darling puff will realize that this is simply not the case. People just have different love languages. 

Hufflepuff loved Slytherin. She really did. In fact, she reminded him frequently. 

“I love you,” she chortled during breakfast when Slytherin had cast a spell to make the bacon strips float around in a dancing manner so that she would cheer up after reading depressing news from the Daily Prophet. Another time, she cooed the term of endearment as he held her tightly in his arms, swaying to the sound of music in the background. 

The thing was that Slytherin rarely said “I love you” in the entirety of their relationship. Instead of saying it back to her, he often replied by cupping her cheeks tenderly and leaning in for another kiss. Other times, he responded with a loving smile, his eyes glowing with warmth and infatuation.

It’s not that Hufflepuff thought Slytherin didn’t love her. She could definitely see it in the way that he looked at her, in those stolen glances when he thought she wasn’t looking. She could feel it when he held her close at night, his arms wrapped protectively around her. 

However, a part of her- the small shadow of doubt within her heart that told her that Slytherin didn’t care for her as much as she did for him- just wished for some kind of affirmation, a clear signal that said, “I love you.” 

One day, Hufflepuff and Slytherin sat side by side in Potions class, listening to Professor Slughorn drone on and on about Felix Felicis. She was absentmindedly staring at the board when Slytherin slid his notes in front of her so that she could see the doodle he drew on the side of his paper.

Hufflepuff bit her lip to suppress a laugh and squeezed his hand 3 times.  

Unfamiliar with the motion, Slytherin asked what the squeezes meant.

“It means I love you,” she whispered. Her voice was soft so that Professor Slughorn didn’t overhear their conversation.  

Nevertheless, Slytherin heard every word. A smile tugged at his lips and he immediately squeezed it back. He didn’t just stop there; he repeated the gesture about 6 times- and Potions class hadn’t even ended yet. 

From that day forward, Slytherin constantly told her I love you. Sometimes he squeezed her hand randomly- before he left for Quidditch practice, during breakfast when she passed him a plate of toast, and after he walked her back to the dormitory. 

Aside from that, he would occasionally tap out the gesture with his finger. 

Tap tap tap. 

Hufflepuff looked up from her book and made eye contact with Slytherin from across the room. She knew what it meant. She always did. 

Slytherin said I love you all the time now, more often than Hufflepuff’s verbal “I love you”. 

She realized that he had a different love language from her, and that was ok. It was the love itself that mattered. 

On their wedding day, as the officiant performed the ceremony, Hufflepuff looked up at Slytherin with adoration. “I love you,” she whispered. 

He smiled warmly at her and squeezed her hand four times. 

I love you too.

You might be wondering why i wrote this one-shot. There was no special occasion this time, I just got a bonk of inspiration one day. also i felt bad for reblogging my ice skating oneshot so much (i did it to respond to other peoples reblogs) and i sent an ask to my favorite fanfic writer, asking her about what happens if i reblog my own work and if it pushes my fanfic up the algorithm, and she answered my question but also said that she usually deletes her reblogs bc her followers would probably get annoyed if they kept seeing the same work over and over again. i felt bad bc i had just done that, and i didnt want yall to constantly see the same fanfic all the time, so i wanted to give u something new. also i was thinking back on that person who said that my writing was sporadic (they werent trying to be mean). Sporadic basically means spaced out and occuring at different intervals. i felt bad bc my writing is definitely spread out by one month for some reason. im not sure what this means for next month bc i never write 2 fanfics in one month. does this mean that i wont write a fanfic for november? hopefully not. ok that sounds sad, im sure it doesnt but who knows bc the college process thingies is killing me 

I wrote out the general details of the story at 1 am one night when i was trying to sleep lmaoao heres a screenshot: 

This is basically how I write for most of my fanfics at first, it consists of the general info along with some specific details.

At first, the one-shot was gonna be a drabble (aka a story that’s only 100 words long) but when I finished writing it, I went to wordcounter to check the number of words and it was 500! i was like oop ok im just gonna call it a oneshot then. i wrote part of the story on sunday morning and then i went to exercise in the park with my sister. afterwards, i wanted to keep working on it but then i became swamped with college stuff so i stopped. i started writing again today (its monday, but im posting it on tuesday, aka today for you- or maybe not if ur not reading this on the day that i posted it) and i surprisingly finished- but that was probably a bad idea to be writing the oneshot during this week because i have a lot of exams, but lets look at the bright side, i finished the story!

I didn’t think of the idea completely on my own. I actually read the reddit story (found it in a thread on insta) a few years ago, and I don’t know why but I was thinking about it that night and I decided to make a one-shot out of it! Isn’t it such a sweet story (the actual story, not this)?? It would be kinda nice if I reached out to the person and said, hey i wrote a story based on you and ur husband! 

Anyways, I just made a meme:

my rambling behind the cut (spoilers!!)

shuichi // as ud expect, shuichi has a literal hime ass looking girl (kikyo) for a daughter. she’s only 6, but is pretty calm and ladylike. She even calls her parents with –sama so... ok luckily shuichi does not strip down all the way in the presence of her daughter and only takes off his suit coat. thanks dad

anyway since shuichi has a break coming up, he wants to have a family trip how nice. but then the dang girl wants to go over to see eisuke WHAT when soryu exists and lives a block away? unrelatable, im closing the app anyway eisuke is her first love, which wtf he’s like 20 yrs older than u. even worse, mc says she’s been in love since she was like 3.

shuichi is reconsidering the benefits of democracy in his mind but eventually relents. but then they’re still following the fucc-days rule they set years ago. well, as he says in the story, RULES ARE RULES

blah blah i don’t want to go over everything bc then it’ll be boring reading the story when it comes out in engl right? also im tired bc it’s 1 am and i just want to play toontown in bed but nothing really bad happens. they are a v cute family bc shuichi is a pleasant and mature dad. kikyo and mc even do a little surprise for him at the end and it is very sweet. i feel like out of all the families, this is the most ideal

mad hatter // so they have twin sons named Rui and Kai. Rui is the childlike one that resembles Rhion in personality, Kai is the more mature one that resembles Al. man i forget that boy’s name but u get me i know they only can use stock bgs but it’s killing me that these dang kids get to sleep in what looks like separate king sized beds.

even though rhion is now a father of two, he still acts like... 10. i mean he still horni but it makes me feel weird

later it’s revealed that Ota teaches them both as an art tutor bc they both showed an interest in art. this is cute bc ota is bad with kids in this universe LOL

the ending on this one was weird cuz the kids didn’t show up in the entirety of the last ep bc it was about WORK. so uh... interesting

hikaru // so their son is named akari. haha get it because it means light. like how hikaru also means light. can mc name her kids unrelated to their father or is that against the Geneva convention

this kid actually acts like an actual little boy. like what hikaru would’ve probably turned into if not for the whole sad backstory. the story starts with akari just bringing a dog randomly home one day. he actually saved the dog (it is very cute bc he did not want the dog to cry), and then after a talk they decide to keep the dog as long as akari knows the responsibility of taking care of an animal.

so next day, the bidders come over to their house and everyone’s like woaw a dog. lol they come into their house as guests and eisuke and mamo still demand for beverages, they all suck

akari names the dog... “Light” (Raito) and i want out of this nightmare. Naturally bc Light is an abandoned dog it’s still kind of bad with interacting with things. But then Light suddenly be giving the ( ╹ਊ╹) to soryu bc remember, animals love him. everyone clowns on soryu for being an unintentional dog whisperer and then akari is like “soryu san pls make me ur apprentice” and he gives some advice like approaching it slowly, and talking to it from the front instead of back.

blah blah there’s a situation where Light goes YEET after a Doberman gets all angry and then hides bc then another dog is scaring it. hikaru swoops in to the save the day as the Real Dog Whisperer. ok it’s cute when hikaru actually gets to look cool  for once LOL

luke // luke is cute on the bc “pre-story” scene he’s actually pretty open to the idea of having kids; he actually goes “well imo we should think abt it pretty soon, but i wanted to hear ur opinion on it” but then he gets horni. and then he’s like “our kids are going to have your collarbones. awesomeee im looking forward to that” ....ok

ok cut to the actual story and they’re in Japan. Luke’s kid looks... strange versus the others. why are his eyes so big? omg voltage his eyes arent going to be saucers just cuz he half white also the kid’s name is Yuri (Or Urey). They couldn’t think of any other Brit-styled names? Like Harry? Henry? William? Wilfred? hey stan be my princess btw he’s pretty cute, though he gives serious “timid kid that gets bullied in the children’s movie” vibes. He calls Luke “daddy” and mc “mammy/mommy”.

so luke talks about his relationship w/ soryu and eisuke and then yuri is like “i want friends like that” wow cute but also find less ethically-complicated friends

so luke lets yuri meet a young patient of his (haru) so they can be friends. they get along so it’s good. haru gets in critical condition later so luke zooms outta there to do the operation.

LOL but at the end yuri is like, “i want to make more friends. (...) can i go to the bidder’s room from now on?” this boy works fast

And then he’s like “Eisuke-san... please be my friend.” HIS POWER. even eisuke was like :O so then eisuke orders a whole bunch of food and books up to the penthouse. But then yuri’s like “...i like eisuke’s eyes” and everyone’s like oh man that’s gonna be his fetish

Baba: why have u started to have an interest in eyes Yuri: I read it from one of daddy’s medical books Hikaru: wtf u can read that at 4??? (...) Soryu: wat Yuri: um... i want soryu to be my friend too Yuri: bc soryu’s eyes are also powerfully cool...

eisuke // ok this gets an extended ramble bc the more annoying the story the longer i must complain

so you might be thinking, “oh so this is gonna be a flashback in some in media res styled story with your 2 kids, u know in the style of the others” and well, no you just go straight to white screen into the flashback, back when eito was smaller and thus a little more cute. well it’s not really false advertising bc they did say “reminisce” in the description. but i wanted to see eito be a good big brother for a moment! or... less good? man i wanted to see kaito go waaaah like a baby idk i wanted to see him exist

so back to the story they cut to small eito. even as a smaller punk he does fight with his dad a little, just w/ a more narrow vocabulary to work with. tho at this point he’s still pretty sweet so clearly eisuke clowning him day and night was a negative effect on his development. (doesn’t treat his child like a child) (child grows up to a punk that doesn’t respect him) (surprised pikachu) being the son of a billionaire means that this child has to go study at a very young age and listen to MOZART. no child of eisuke ichinomiya will be listening to degenerate bops like lee taemin’s criminal next day they all go to the very fancy school that eito will be attending. eisuke does a speech, but then eito is all like “why is papa over there all the time” in reference to how all the other parents in attendance are having fun with their children, but eisuke is busy talking to other people for business and connections etc. etc. mc kind of has a hard time trying to explain it to eito bc... it’s honestly poor parenting... eiji shows up after arriving late, and he’s like “gramps is gonna be with ya today! instead of papa” which is cute but then she’s like psst thanks for coming and im like oh... so grandpa just didn’t randomly come to the open house for fun he’s just gonna be surrogate dad while real dad is busy... aw... and then at the end eito’s like FUC THIS KINDERGARTEN. eisuke is like “(smh) don’t yell in public. (despite everything) you are still the eldest son of the Ichinomiya family”

and so afterwards it’s clear that eito does not want anything to do with this school. he just sits in the classroom until mc is there to pick him up instead of playing in the courtyard or w/e, wanting nothing to do with the other kids.

so later there’s a hiking trip for the students and both of their parents, and mc asks eisuke if he’ll be available for it. eisuke is like, “i have a business trip that day, so I’ll have to adjust my schedule” and he’s been very busy in the opening of a new business or w/e. mc tells him to not do so much for something like that and that it’s ok if she goes alone with eito on the trip.

it’s the day of the trip, and mc goes alone with eito. she notes that a lot of dads did indeed come along for the trip. she apologizes to eito and says that she did talk to eisuke about the trip before, but he’s simply busy for this day. and im like... but girl, you were the one who told him not to change his schedule for the trip. yes a trip may seem less important than business ventures, but don’t make it sound like you weren’t the one who stopped him. lol. idk why im pressed abt this single line of dialogue bc later she does realize she fucced up there well eito is just like w/e about it and has pretty much accepted that sort of thing

anyway eito goes missing later and one of the kids said that he told eito that his dad (eisuke) didn’t come bc his dad thinks that his work is more important than his son. so eito got mad and ran off somewhere

and then mc finally gets the lightbulb moment that eito... wants to see his dad!! he ran off to go try to see him somehow??? !! wow so sweet

it’s raining like a mf but then in her search for eito eisuke randomly pops out of nowhere. He’s like “ho i did not remember saying that i wasn’t coming” and she’s like “im sorrryyy” and both me and him are like “just find the dang kid”

ok yea they find eito, he starts being a good student, and u start to see where he starts being antagonistic towards his dad LOL etc. etc. lol this story annoyed me so i don’t feel like doing the rest of the play by play orz

okay im finally asking.. who is parse and why do u hate love them ?

I would apologize for this rant in advance but ur neurotypical too so ik u understand. Anyway:

Kent Parson (known as Parse) is a side character from the webcomic Check Please! The comic follows Eric Bittle (known as Bitty) who is a gay hockey player in college as he finds friends, found family, and love. It’s a super cute and wholesome story!

Parse is barely there. His main role as a character is to be an asshole. I’m not even kidding.

Jack canonically has anxiety, which Parse was WELL AWARE OF, so this god awful conversation triggers a panic attack. And even if Jack didn’t have anxiety, this still wouldn’t be acceptable!!

In addition, there was a period of time when a lot of Parse stans were being dicks to the creator of the webcomic bc they were mad he didn’t show up more. They also harassed some of my friends, who dislike Parse a lot. This soured Parse’s character for me a lot bc of how many fans were being dicks towards REAL PEOPLE over a fictional character.

So yeah. I hate him.

You may be wondering how I could possibly like Parse with all of that to deal with. (I wonder sometimes, too.) First, you need to understand that my mutual who got me into the comic in the first place Annie @biginnyweasley is a Parse stan. After I finished the comic, I was like, “Hey, I want to study Annie’s brain and also their taste in fictional men. She’s a lesbian; they HAVE to have good taste, right?” So I read some Parse fics.

They were unfortunately well written. I say unfortunate because I started to like Parse, even though I still hated him.

I think the main attraction to Parse is how he’s truly just a messy, fucked up person lol and so it’s child’s play to project all your personal issues onto him. I used to be a mess of internalized transphobia and homophobia and in the process hurt myself and my friends. But I changed for the better. That’s why Parse is such a fun character to write or read (if the author has the same galaxy brain as i do 🙏). He’s a horrible person!! He treated Jack like shit!! Now let’s watch as he ruins his life and claws his way up to being kind, being good with his torn and raggedy fingernails. He’s basically cardboard redemption arc fodder.

I still hate him, though, and I will continue to make fun of him with my mutuals until my hyperfixation ends.

From Gabi and Falco laughing while playing video games with Udo and Zofia.

To The Galliard brothers getting along with Reiner and Bertolt.

Along with Annie , Peick and Y/n sitting on the couch quietly conversating.

Miss Braun was busy cooking along the side of the mothers of the growing Teenagers to Adults one last time before the dreadful day came of sending them all off to University. I got the locket engraved with your initials and mine as well. so you can have a piece of me when you're far away.”

The night went on from laughing to singing to all of our friends and family sitting outside enjoying the starry night with the music very low in the back.

i was scrolling through my pictures while listening to Peick rant about her latest adventure when i see the picture of me and reiner laughing that Bet took on the night of our senior dance,

i went to instagram and went to my story and posted photos of reiner and i thought of our friendship to now. with Olivia's new song and tag him.

Aight, this has been spinning around in my head for a long time, and I decided posting it all here would be a good idea. After posting this, I will find pictures of the pets and post also. <3 Steve: Gets a golden retriever. Names it Buddy, like the old-fashioned person he is. Bud for short. A few months old, but very playful. Bucky: Gets a Persian cat (those fluffy ones). Names it Annie. An for short. Tony: Gets some fish. Fish because he hates getting fur around the place and the other avengers have 'enough damn pets as it is'. He calls them fishy. Bruce: Has a stray cat for a pet. Calls it Bellus, latin for 'cute'. (Very Bruce.) Bell for short. Clint: Has a husky from the farm, pretty old dog. Calls it Amie , French for 'friend'. Ami for short. Natasha: Has a kitten called Akita. Black and white, one year old. Friends with Bell, always chases Buddy around. Loves teasing Boots and sleeping on him (literally). Thor: Has a turtle. Don't know why, but Thor likes turtles. Spider turtle, name is ..... Spider. A few months old. Peter: Convinced May to let him get a brown puppy. Very tiny dog, name is Boots. One year old. Loki: He has a pure black cat called Ares. Three years old, Al for short. Wanda: Has a pet parrot. It adores her, and will repeat Slovanian phrases if you try to talk to it. Called Birch. Two years old and still learning new phrases.

- Some avengers like Sam and Peter don't actually know Loki has a pet cat because Ares loves disappearing. Loki, Bucky, JARVIS, and Natasha are the only ones who can usually find him. - The reason Boots is called that is because the first time Peter got him, he went missing and ended up in the (extremely large) shoe cupboard and was chewing Natasha boots. She wasn't mad but did pick up Boots and bring him over to her room to let Akita play with him.

-Clint likes to pet Birch and call it a birb all the time. It has learned tp peck at him when he says that. - How Bruce got Bell: Fed her his leftover sandwich once and ended up bringing it to the vet to get shots before bringing it home and setting up a bed for it in his lab.

- The only reason Tony's fish is alive is because Peter built them a machine which automatically feeds them once a day. -Annie perches on Bucky's shoulder when he reads or does paperwork at his desk. If she sees Tony she will follow him around until he locks himself into his lab to 'get away from that pesky cat who won't stop following him around'. For reasons unknown yet, but Natasha suspects he dotes on her when no one's around. - Don't tell Thor, but Steve and Natasha plan to keep an eye on Spider when he's getting older and swap him with another turtle when he dies so Thor won't be sad. They don't think Thor will notice Spider getting a bit smaller. (He probably won't) - Buddy always gets into the Avengers laundry room and messes up Steve's clothes and he gets mad but always ends up laughing and shooing buddy out of the room before throwing the clothes into the washer again.

-Ami and Buddy have a rivalry. Buddy usually goes to annoy Ami while Ami just picks him up by the scruff of his neck (thats how big Ami is) and puts him wherever Steve is like : 'take ur damn dog pls' -Bell often smashes lab equipment to stop his work after Bruce has been working for more than 15 hours straight. He still hasn't figured out how she knows to do that, but he usually just goes to bed after she does because he knows she'll just keep breaking stuff and doesn't have the heart to lock her in his room or somewhere. - Ares once disappeared for a week straight. No one could find him until one day he stalked out of a cupboard in Tony's lab and as you could guess, Tony almost died of shock. Loki pampered him more after because he heard the screams from 6 levels above the lab. - Spider has been replaced 2 times by now. Thor still hasn't noticed. -Buddy once got into Natasha's clothes and Steve had to rescue him from her. -When Peter goes over to the tower, he will drop home first and put Boots into his backpack before swinging over. He does secure her with some webbing before swinging over though.
