i hope you all are doing well and staying safe ♡ that’s way more important than any studying and should be your top priority. i just wanted to share a technique that may or may not help you:

my favorite (re?)studying method that i’ve found is to annotate notes. (here is the video where i learned this technique. i love love love her channel, please check it out!) i made lots of notes over the year because that’s how i learn best, but imo it’s really difficult and time consuming to make new study guides, because not only do i have to look at my old notes and copy that, but also look at videos, etc. for new content...it just doesn’t seem helpful when i already put so much work into my notes, and only set aside a day to study (lol). the solution? note annotation.

i’ve been adapting it for my ap exam studying by watching videos (bozeman science >>>) and making new notes on top of my old notes from class. in these notes, i reinforce my old notes and add new content that i didn’t get in the first time around! this technique has also helped me decide which concepts i know really well, and which to improve on. i hope it helps you!

Quarantine Challenge 07/04/2020

It’s sunny!!! Finally!! Today I slept in, and then spent a few hours watching a lecture and prepping for my last Celtic Christianity quiz of the semester. Then my partner and I took a break to go for a walk, during which we picked up two amazing items: a package of knockoff Oreos and some instant coffee, so I could try and make Dalonga coffee! I had to hand whip it, but it was worth the effort because the creamy texture is very nice, although I didn’t add enough milk lol

Today’s prompt for the challenge (I think) is a place I would go this week, if I could go anywhere.... and honestly, I wish I could be here, in Montreal, at this time of year except without the whole ‘pandemic’ thing. I love Montreal in May and June, it’s sunny, warm but not uncomfortably hot, and stuff starts to bloom! Groups usually would be going around picking up litter and planting flowers along the streets, and that always gets me through exams, but this year the streets are covered in trash and nothing is growing... I usually would be studying and planning picnics on mt. Royal, going to movies, and looking forward to having free time, and if I could go anywhere, it would be that version of my city.

hello there! i’ve been lurking around the studyblr community for a while now, and while this isn’t entirely a studyblr (since i aim to posts some prints and illustrations every now and then), i did create this account for the same reason! i’m currently waiting for my grades to arrive (i’m an ibdp slave, yup!), so i’ll mostly be posting old notes and my digital creations for now, but i do plan on regularly updating this blog with new notes and fresh content once my online classes start!

my name is anika! and yes, i prefer the whole name :)

i’m a y2 m2020 ibdp student. (rip) my hls are bio, bm and eng lit. my sls are math, spanish and theatre.

i just turned 18!

i’m a mix of chinese, filipino, spanish and japanese! (a cultural cocktail basically, hehe)

fluent in eng & fil, kiinda proficient in mandarin (just don’t talk too fast 🥺🥺) and i’ve only recently started studying spanish so i’d love to get to know other language learners!

i’m a prospective bs psych student! (haven’t chosen my college yet... got accepted into UBC, Maastricht Uni, ADMU, DLSU, UP, and Monash Uni though so hmu if you want some tips! or a masterpost of some sort?)

yes! psych is my pre-med. i’m hoping to specialize in neurosurgery or pediatrics!

life update: online uni sucks

it doesn't feel like the semester is still going on, everything that motivated me (being on campus, seeing my friends and other students) is gone, everyone is falling behind and zoom lessons are so uncredibly awkward to sit through

i'm obviously priviledged to still have an education and i appreciate how much effort everyone is putting in to provide resources etc. but this just isn't the best time for me rn

bahaha i hardly use this blog to upload original content,, i mostly come on here to chat with prospective barnard applicants these days but i thought it'd be fun to do the #studyblr community challenge!

day 1 - introduce yourself and tell us what you study

my name's rachel and i'm a sophomore at barnard. i'm a prospective sociology major with a double minor in environmental science (which was the major i applied with) and east asian studies (bc i rlly enjoyed taking mandarin freshman year so i thought why not turn it into a minor?). i don't know what i wanna do post grad but prob the 4+1 grad program at columbia. my favorite club is the lion dance team (follow us on instagram @ cu_liondance !) and my goal one day is to become fluent in mandarin and move to china.

my url is inspired by the love interest, nahoko, in my favorite studio ghibli movie the wind rises!

Howl’s Moving Castle is my all-time favorite ghibli movie, so when I discovered it was based on a book, I just had to read it! It’s really different

Calculus is pretty much taking over my, it’s like 75% of my study time!
