dry cereal in cup was the last thing i ate in a grand effort to actually eat breakfast and not murder my body and brain by living on coffee until lunchtime 😐

last thing i cooked was dinner last night for my family... i made what my kiddo calls 'sushi bowls' which is just rice with rice vinegar and pan seared shrimp (quickly marinated in soy sauce, sesame oil & ginger) served with avocado, carrots, cucumber, and spicy mayo (just sriracha and mayo stirred together). it was a delish! one of our favorite weeknight dinners :)

OKAY so a while back my sister and I watched an absolutely wild fucking movie called The Man Who Killed Hitler And Then Bigfoot. Which was as. Buck Fucking Wild as one would expect from that sort of title. It was somewhat wanting in the dramatic storytelling department though and not nearly as bizarrely wild as it could have been, so my sister and I promptly set about remedying that and came up with a novel length, highly dramatic fanfic version that involved kidnappings, faked deaths, secret children, and secret government projects turning people into Bigfoots (Bigfeet?). There might have been were-Bigfoots? It was going to be my masterpiece. My pièce de résistance. My Sistine Chapel. Once it was done, there would be no further creative heights for me to reach because I would have already created the most dramatically splendid work of art I am capable of producing.

Or, in other words, it was to be my Bigfoot, after which there would be no mountains left to climb.

#nonnie i have no idea what sort of answer you were expecting but i doubt it was this #i don't even remember how we found that movie #there's a Patriotic Government Agent character who's literally just listed as 'Flag Pin' in the subtitles and credits #bc of the american flag pin in his lapel #in our version he became the main character's long lost son who may or may not have been kidnapped by the government bigfoot project? #and was the primary antagonist i think but in a tragic and bittersweet way #the main character's wife- who just...maybe randomly dies in the movie? its implied but unclear- was also kidnapped by the #government bigfoot project and turned into a were-bigfoot #there was also this random russian(?) man in the movie who had weirdly homoerotic energy with the main character? #so we gave him a much bigger and more explicitly homoerotic role. i think we also maybe made him a were-Bigfoot #i think the dramatic climax was the main character having to fight Homoerotic Russian Were-Bigfoot #while the russian guy tried to fight off his were-Bigfoot-ness and remain human. it was very tragic and poignant #anyways. my sister and i should not be allowed to watch movies #ill have to tell yall sometime about the time we watched a delightfully terrible shark movie and thus Shart (shitty shark) Week was born #asks #hey there nonnie #local trash goblin speaks

It’s really disheartening to see what a double standard there is; resistance to admit that X behaviour is just as creepy when a woman does it (IRL or in fiction) as when a man does it. Not feminist!

An actor who gropes his female costar both on set and on stage and it’s just... laughed off? 

A male character who has one (1) conversation with a woman, self-professedly not interested in dating, but after she has a makeover and becomes trophy-worthy, he immediately decides to put his hands on her to cop a feel (*totally in-character because the actor playing him is a creep who cannot be trusted to keep his hands to himself around his female co-stars). And then he turns up again months later, only now he’s acting as if she told him he was her One True Love, the first time she ever spoke to him? Like she had given him a Secret Signal that she only belongs to him, now? 

Then, after being rude to her friend (because he doesn’t want to fuck her, so why be even civil, right?), him becoming jealous and physically violent when another man sexually assaults her at work (something he’s already done to her himself remember?) Blaming her for it? Refusing to admit his hypocrisy when confronted? Then assaulting her as ‘punishment’ for her lack of apology or public shame? (And sighing as he finishes, like it’s sensually satisfying for him, and funny; like it’s Just. After which, she is now carrying his photo in public... but looking disquieted). And then him re-enacting her sexual assault himself- oh but it’s okay because she belongs to him, he likes her, he probably just thought she just needed a little push, and anyway it’s his turn?? 

Horrifying.

But if a woman does all that ^ to a man, while looking pretty...?

//I'm sorry but I don't guilt-trip anyone into doing anything, Nonny. I'm not responsible for how you choose to perceive what I say but I can tell you that my intention is not what you think. Let's get down to brass tacks & be really transparent so you can understand my meaning.

I feel guilty about leaving peeps hanging. I also feel guilty about switching muses to focus on, especially when a certain muse is a long-standing one that's built up adoration from those that write with them. All I can do is apologise to those writers but I refuse to cage myself or write for the sake of others & overlook my wants. When I say I feel overshadowed by a muse of mine, I mean that I personally feel that muse is superior to my other muses & want to create a muse that I'm confident in. They're like my own personal standard for what I can achieve if I work hard. I want to do my best & break my own insecurity.

I don't want others to feel guilty about loving a certain muse of mine - I encourage them to love any muse I write & hope they continue to support their preferred muse. I don't want pity follows or interaction. I don't expect follows or interaction from anyone. Everyone is free to do whatever they are comfortable doing, no offence taken. I want only those interested in interaction to follow me but even if someone follows me just as a means of saying they support my endeavour, I'm grateful.

Personally, I as a writer want to follow & interact with all my friends & writing partners across all their blogs - if I enjoy their writing, I want to write with them regardless of muses. I'm invested in their talent & couldn't care less about the packaging, if you get me. That's the person I am. C'est la vie. We're all different. We all write according to our comfort & interest levels & hey, maybe two muses just aren't compatible regardless of the muns. Maybe a mun has a preferred verse or canon. Maybe they have an issue with a faceclaim or a character's personality. There's so many reasons why they may not write with me & I respect that, even without actually knowing their reasons. I don't hound them demanding to know why - if anything, I respect the boundary I sense & limit / cease interaction in case of any of the above.

Yes, at first it's a little hurtful for me emotionally because I love my writing partners &, as stated, want to write with them no matter what. Do I hold a grudge though? No. I get over myself & carry on. I can't control them. I pour my love on them with the muse they prefer. But again, I know that others are different; they might, subconscious or not, dislike a muse just because that muse is currently being focused on. So I apologise & ask them not to do this. Any issue they have shouldn't be made into a personal vendetta & it shouldn't reflect on a character. For instance, I can love a writer (professional or not) but dislike a character of theirs - but that doesn't make me disregard the writer's skill or my love for them.

Hopefully I've cleared up your misconception & gotten my intent across clearly. I suppose the actual really real tea here is this: it's rude to assume or deface someone's integrity based on an ill-conceived assumption or otherwise condemn them with only your opinion as evidence. But whoop, you're entitled to an opinion just as I'm entitled to supply the facts as I see them.
