Last night at the Ice Haus, the Flames trailed nearly the entire game before taking a 3-2 lead with 6:28 to play. Then Andover scored a pair of goals just 19 seconds apart to take the lead with just 1:25 left in the game.
It was a good game between two evenly matched teams. Andover improved to 2-0 in the tournament and the Flames dropped to 0-2. The Flames play SASA (St. Albans Skating Association) later this afternoon to finish up the preliminary section of the tournament.
Please take some time to enjoy some pictures from last night’s heart breaker. If you click on a picture it will open. Click on it a second time and you can zoom in if you wish.

The Mighty Fin is all locked in and ready for competition.
O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells; Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills…
Stock face-off photo #31.
Point of contact. On a separate note, notice the hockey helmet sponsorship modeled by Andover in all colors.
The Flames used their creativity in trying a new way to score a goal from the back of the net. The net denied their effort.
Face-off close up. Logan in action.
Andover fakes right, shifts to the left…
…and tucks the puck inside the post.
Flames face-off picture. The scorekeeper is genuinely happy about it.
Traffic in front of the net reminded me of the snarled traffic trying to get by the front of our cottage before the game.
In a rare hockey version of Simon Says, Austin hops on one leg, but did not score because Simon didn’t say so.
Kaveney the Magnificent puts a shot on net with a special spin designed to deceive goalies. It didn’t work though.
Just a nice picture of Gavin posing for his hockey card.
Face-off focus.
Garrett is all business against Andover.
Travis looks in amazement at who might be cutting behind him. Meanwhile, Colby’s like, “the shortest distance between two points is a straight line.” I am pretty sure that’s how this went down.
This photo made me think of the, unseen until now, hockey version of Dana Carvey’s ‘Choppin’ Broccoli’. Another SNL classic. I don’t get out much.
Here we see Jax observing a Travis save.
This game was full of back and forth action with both teams getting ample scoring opportunities.
Travis appears to be stunned by the dawn of a new day, but if you look closely there is a puck up there.
Jordan and Austin are hustling up ice while the scorekeeper seems to think that watching the game on his phone is better than the live action right in front of him.
Colby trying to help Travis out.
Gavin traps the puck against the right pad in one of countless “I can’t believe that puck didn’t go in the net” moments in this game.
Theodore looks for a loose puck while James unloads his powerful slapper.
Soooo close to his first goal of the season!
Travis gets a piece of the centering pass.
Then he dives to his left to make a brilliant save.
The Flames huddle before making their 3rd period comeback.
The Flames on the offensive.
This shot and save resulted in a rebound goal that tied the game 2-2.
This picture shows Austin celebrating the tying goal. Or he’s doing his best Lamar impersonation from Revenge of the Nerds.
The Flames looking to turn defense into some offense in a hurry.
Cool picture of a bunch of kids skating as fast as they can.
And this shot gave the Flames a 3-2 lead in the 3rd period.
The Mighty Fin retrieves a rolling puck in the corner.
Jax making a nice play on defense.
For some reason I really like this picture. However, it was the face-off that led directly to the Andover game-winning goal.
After a tough battle to finally take the lead, the Flames line up to shake hands after suffering a tough loss to Andover.
After some 30 straight hours of clouds and snow, the sun has joined us. It’s clear, cold, and quite beautiful.
I don’t know what the official snowfall total was here yesterday, but I know that we had at least 6″ of snow in our walkway throughout the day.
2010 Flames Suffer a Heartbreaking Loss at Jay Peak to Andover Last night at the Ice Haus, the Flames trailed nearly the entire game before taking a 3-2 lead with 6:28 to play.

Imagine this person coming up to you to try out his bad dad jokes as pick up lines at your local gay cowboy bar?!
"What do you call a happy cowboy?"
"A JOLLY RANCHER!" He cackles as he slaps his knee and honks like he's the funniest cowboy this side of the farm! 🤣🤣🤣
