Fun Fact
BuzzFeed published a report claiming that Tumblr was utilized as a distribution channel for Russian agents to influence American voting habits during the 2016 presidential election in Feb 2018.
Alec : I found something on my way here. Thought you'd like it. * Gives the book to Jace*
Jace : look who's out of Magnus s' place in centuries. We've forgotten your face. Thanks for the book. It seems handy. Those little monster ducks. Those evil quacks...
Later
Jace : *shouting* Alec you parababitch you monstrous being....
Jem: For the last time Kit, that duck was not trying to peck you to death!
Kit: You don't know what I saw, okay? *flicks a duck feather off his shoulder* If it weren't for my being a Shadowhunter, my skill in weapons, and my dashing charisma, I would not be able to tell the tale today!
Jem: What does your 'dashing charisma' have anything to do with your war against a duck?
Kit: Nothing, it was just a random fact of life. Universal truth, you know what I mean?
Jem: *faraway look in his eye* Ah...
Kit: Don't tell me. Will Herondale hated ducks too?
Jem: In fact, he did. His son, however, once declared in a drunken state, 'Ducks, embrace me as your king!' Will was severely disappointed in him. That was the only mixup. All Herondales have hated ducks since.
That time Clary was turned into a swan and needed true love's kiss
Magnus: "Jace, we have been here for half an hour now. Could you just give her a little peck on her beak already?"
Jace, shaking: "Look, I'm trying, okay. Just… give me five more minutes."
Alec: "Maybe we could leave her like this? She seems to be so much less trouble now."
Swan Clary: bites Alec
Alec: "Nevermind. She is annoying no matter what form."
Imagine in the wicked power Kit is with Jace and they find a duck and Kit goes up to it and says it’s cute and then Jace is just in the back freaking out over the duck and calling it a bloodthirsty little beast and Kit is just so over it 😭😭
I'm sure people have already said this, but I will repeat it either way:
SHADOWHUNTERS IS ONE OF THE BEST FANTASY SERIES EVER WRITTEN FOR SEVERAL REASONS INCLUDING EXCELLENT WRITING, GREAT REPRESENTATION AND FASCINATING WORLD BUILDING AND IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TALK TO THE WALL
imagine kit and ty going out on a beautiful date somewhere in nature because nature is beautiful and it's either really bright and beautiful and sunny or the moon is casting a blue glow and when you turn your head up you see the stars twinkling and they head out and just stay there with each other, in each others company for hours like this day could never end and they're laying down with each other, looking at the sky or the trees or the grass and ty can do it he's gonna say it...
but then kit sees a duck. scene proceeds to document usual reaction when herondale sees duck.
Shadowhunters fans, someone show this to the Herondales:
I mean, I was just doing homework today and suddenly I read "The Demon Duck of Doom". And like, what did you just say? Duck? Oh hell nah. Will and Jace actually had a point?
The Bane Chronicles is a whole new level of insane
I'm reading the Bane Chronicles right now, and I have to say, it's a whole new level of insane, even for MAGNUS BANE. Most of it is alright... Like the story of how he rescued Marie Antionette or how he got banned from Peru. The story that made me think WTF just happened though, was in fact, a story that seems completely out of the timeline entirely.
The Midnight Heir.
It's during TLH era, which is strange in itself, as besides the three Malec stories, it's the only one to be a part of the main storyline. The rest are literally Magnus Bane being Magnus Bane and occasionally engaging with an interesting person, like Edmund Herondale or Camille Belcourt.
But The Midnight Heir...
basically, Magnus finds James in a bar (I think) and he's doing all these stupid bets, and has no concern for his well-being, and then Magnus has had enough, and knocks him unconscious to take him back to the institute. It has none of the lighthearted tune of the rest of the stories, albeit there was a funny part when Will finds out about James saying "Ducks, embrace me as your king" and promptly saying he's lost everything he's been taught. Magnus then goes to see Tatiana Blackthorn, where she asks Magnus to kill five shadowhunters. He refuses to do so, and then Grace says something incoherent about being 'Her mother's Blade' and 'a blade doesn't care who it hurts'.
And this event is NEVER mentioned again. Not in any of TLH. Not by Will or Tessa. And such a monumental event should be mentioned again... right? Like, for a solid 7 pages, James is acting the way Matthew does and it's never mentioned???? AND none of the other Merry Thieves are there???? WHAT HAPPENED???? I NEED MORE CONTEXT!!!
Expectation: The greatest warriors of their generation, their bloodline is metaphorically born of the heavenly fire of Raziel, brooding and unaturally handsome, tortured pasts and tragic backstory’s run in the family apparently, literally what is their sense of humor, it’s completely unexplainable, PARKOUR!
Reality: THEYRE DEATHLY TERRIFIED OF DUCKS THIS IS HILARIOUS.
