Murder Hornet’s backstory shows that she had been taken and then, brainwashed into a mindless soldier. I am not sure who is Murder Hornet...Could it be Janet Van Dyne? Or Nadia Pym? Or maybe Rita DeMara?

i don't know what's happening in this godawful early 2000s looking ugly comic and i don't care enough to find out beyond reiterating my belief that we should have a permanent moratorium on using the sai death pose.

Jumping On: New Story Arcs Kicking Off On June 9, 2021
Jumping On: New Story Arcs Kicking Off On June 9, 2021
One of the hardest and most frustrating things about finding new comics to read and enjoy is finding a good jumping on point. It can be confusing and disheartening to pick up a single issue from the middle of an arc without having the context of the previous chapters.
With that in mind, here are some titles kicking off new story arcs and a few interesting #1’s premiering this upcoming New Comic…

KP’s reviews of Heroes Reborn (2021) event in 10 words or less (mostly). In order read;
Tie in one shots;
Siege Society: fun ride; not enough character development; loved Victor and Ivan
Night-Gwen: fully self contained one-shot story; well done, best so far
Weapon X: felt like the end of a run; Logan’s death entertaining
Mutant Force: they remembered Emma’s boobs were fake; surprised ending not Onslaught
Savage Squadron: disappointed that it was Bucky and not Arkady
Young Hyperion: best parody of the time period, letters page sold it
American Knights: best title, Luke Cage is Commissioner Gordon; world building heavy
Peter Parker: Pete is Flagsmasher, not Jimmy Olsen. Also Doc Ock 2 cameo
Marvel Double: another great parody of a the time period/reprints. Nicely self-contained
Young Squadron: Titans featuring Deadpool as Harley to Green Goblin as Joker
Overall sum up of the tie-ins: Much Nighthawk, some Hyperion, not enough world building lore otherwise
Heroes Reborn main books;
#1: not a bad opening. Thor looks like Val Halen.
#2: same time as Pete’s book; puts into question Magneto/Savage’s.
#3: before Siege, after Night-Gwen. Blur’s annoying. New Phoenix meh.
#4: wow they went with classic racist green lantern for spectrum.
#5: post Night-Gwen, maybe post Siege and post Young Squadron? (when was the civil war, cause Nighthawk is seemingly on good terms with the Squadron)
#6: Zarda finally! Wait if Janet was Giantess who’s Murder Hornet?
#7: feels rushed with fan service, but pinpointed civil war somewhat
Return: Mephisto is the Monitor. Huh, still DCing to the end.
Final overall thoughts:
Never explained adequately why Blade remembered. Peter Parker getting powers was pointless. Nighthawk got the most development, followed by Hyperion, then honestly Blur; Zarda got nearly nothing. Maybe if I’d read it in release order, rather than all the one shots in a random order then the main series the timeline would’ve lined up better, but I doubt it. Main book kinda lacked an identity honestly; the one shots were great fun though. I guess the core 5 squadron is now in 616?? Also why evil Coulson, I thought people lied that character, did the show tank that badly towards the end? Still, I think the AU aspect was fun and entertaining; the actual “important to the universe” plot part, not so much.
