Prompt #3450
"The basement? Subtle."
"It's the only sleeping accommodation we had left-"
"Yeah, because the rest suspiciously flooded. And your boss has water powers." The thief dropped a dry look over their shoulder. "But sure, keep telling yourself that."

Though it’d certainly ruin pacing, some of the My Hero Academy movies would have interesting moments if we pivoted to the league of villains’ POV.
TV Announcement:...the suspect, who is thought to have killed 12 people, is the Japanese hero 'Deku,' the alias of Izuku Midoriya...
Spinner: Did- Did we kidnap the wrong kid back at the training camp?
Shigaraki: Hell no, that brat's annoying
Shigaraki turns up the volume on the news report anyways

been reading a lot of clive barker recently and find him to be incredibly whimsical, life-affirming, and wondrous so I decided to read his ya series "abarat" which as it turns out isn't finished, so we're waiting at a point of utter despair for the most part, rip to the kids (that being said I do wish I'd known of it when I was a kid, no matter how frustrated by the wait I might have been)
anyway, do think I will write a little fanfic that nobody is going to read of christopher carrion and finnegan hob working through their mutual realisation that they were both being used by princess boa (meanwhile she's shooting finger guns at them, love her, love how she fucked up not one but two incredibly powerful silly boys, love that she just loves being bad, it appears to be her whole raison d`etre), and then they make out or smthin, unclear

Febuwhump day 24: Bloody Clothes
“Ugh, I can feel you bleeding all over me.”
Hero was focused on moving. Their body ached, every bruise and cut pulsing with pain. They could feel their wounds bleeding slowly, no doubt staining their already ruined uniform. They were running on empty, not having had a decent meal since their capture nearly two weeks ago. But they needed to keep moving. They couldn’t let either of them be captured.
“I mean, yeah, I know how to get blood outta my suit. You kinda have to know that if you’re a villain. But still, it’s super—Hey, are you even listening to me?”
Hero hadn’t expected their rescue to come in the form of their nemesis. When they’d seen Villain, dressed in a guard uniform alongside Super Villain’s other goons, they’d thought their nemesis had come to mock them. They hadn’t expected Villain to sneak into their cell in the dead of night, guards lying unconscious at the entrance, grinning with that mischievous smirk of theirs.
And now they were stumbling through the dark, Hero wrapping their arm over Villain’s shoulder for support.
It took Hero a long moment to realize Villain had asked them a question. “What?”
“Gasp!” Villain literally gasped the word, clutching their chest like an insulted noble. “You weren’t listening! How could you treat your nemesis like this!?”
Hero wanted to ask Villain the very same thing, but they didn’t. “Very easily apparently,” they grumbled instead.
They walked in silence for a while. Or at least, as silent as things ever were with Villain. Villain seemed incapable of allowing the quiet to stretch on for long, occasionally bringing some inane topic up to break the silence. It was annoying, but the annoyance was better than the terror Hero felt at the thought of recapture. It was better than listening to their heart pound in their ears.
Hero felt themself stumble, only barely stopping themselves from collapsing. Beside them, they felt Villain stumble forward as well, dragged down by Hero’s weight. They refocused on moving forward.
“Hey, don’t pass out on me. I’m not gonna carry you.” Villain said, shifting their hold on Hero’s side.
Hero decided not to mention that Villain practically was already. Hero was only standing by Villain's support, their legs too weak to hold their weight. Their captivity left them exhausted, each step draining what little energy they had left. They could feel how Villain's muscles were straining, heart pounding as they forced the two of them forward. And yet, for all their whining, Villain didn't abandon them.
Hero decided not to mention that either. "Yeah, as if you could carry me," they snarked instead.
Villain huffed, but kept walking.

Lila and Chloe for the ship thing!
On my end I think they’re pretty fun
Relationship scale ask game
Tumblr media
Villains who get together specifically because they make each other worse is a fun concept, I get what you mean, anon. I also love mindgame stuff, so this teamup really had some potential if Lila had been played off as more of an evil influence on Chloé once they started hanging out together. Let's face it, Chloé's brand of villainy was harmless and toothless by the time season 4 started, and retconning new heinous behavior that she never again repeated into her backstory still did not sell her as a credible threat in the here and now.
If they wanted hero to take Chloé seriously as a threat, they should have at first leaned into Chloé's villain decay, the characters thinking Chloé had lost her edge, so they'd be unprepared for when Lila's influence makes her do something absolutely terrible in the present that the heroes would actually have to deal with. Instead we get another season 5 personality transplant, where the show insists that no, Chloé "My Establishing Villain Moment Was Putting Gum on Marinette's Chair" Bourgeois was always as bad, if not more so, as Lila.
I like the concept more than the excecution, is what I'm saying.

DC crossover anon: OKAY OKAY SO CONSIDER… Kate and Dick Grayson. The PARALLELS. Dick knows what it’s like to just be a normal guy on a team full of powered people, to feel like you need to earn your seat at the table. Dick fought for respect as Robin, as Nightwing… Kate did it as Hawkeye. She went toe to toe with Steve for this right. Dick struck out in a new town like Kate did in taking off for the west coast. They understand the hero worship, only to be struck with how human your mentor really is. And listen, if Kate had a nickel for every time she wound up running with a former circus performer who pretends to be a himbo but is actually really fuckin smart…? Well, she’d only have two nickels, but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.
A/N: I am so sorry this has been languishing in my drafts for months and even though i have more thoughts i want to post it because hi i am IN LOVE with them ilu dc nonny
Oh my godddd ohhhhhmy goddddddddddd
I am seeing them getting ready for (superhero) work and realizing they picked up the wrong batons which is so DUMB and so CUTE or maybe they even got as far as superheroing and Kate is like HUH well THAT wasn't supposed to happen as she's standing over some twitching goon and calling Dick like "Hey babe I think we need to label the batons better just a thought" and Dick who is FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE because Kate doesn't have tasers is like YA THINK???? (I am so sorry for yelling babe I wasn't mad at you I was mad at the situation and also the literal clown I was fighting)
Do they meet at a rich person gala and Kate is trying to figure out if Bruce is Tony Stark rich dude or Justin Hammer rich dude and realizes what better way to infiltrate this sus billionaire than by getting tight with his kids? They both absolutely know how to ballroom dance. Do they meet because Kate decides to take some aerial classes??? DUO ACRO ROUTINE MY BELOVED?!?!?! (OH my goddddddd Dick teaching circus classes? Kate and Clint taking circus classes and he critiques Dick the whole time but they bond over how the Joker is a bad clown. Not like evil, but like, bad at being a clown. The fucking audacity of him.)
Universe mash up where the Avengers et al and the Justice League et al come together for some reason and Nightwing and Hawkeye are impressed with one another in a professional way and then Bruce(Wayne) and Steve(Rogers) decide to set them up by sending them on fake missions together only because Kate is Kate it keeps backfiring and the fake missions all become real missions. It's OK though because they all come together to defeat an interdimensional villain and then there's a frantic makeout session
Kate and Dick would be able to pull off one of my favorite tropes "we've been dating for 3 1/2 years but everyone thinks we just team up to fight crime." Everyone thinks the teamups are because their teamup name is NightHawk. Obvi. Whatever version of them getting together, a total of three people know. One of them is Damian who Does Not Care Thank You Very Much (he does. He cares SO MUCH. when is the wedding he wants to know he had BETTER be a GROOMSMAN, RICHARD. He's already training Lucky to be the ringbearer. But he super mega doesn't care he thinks they're idiots.)
UGH SECRET IDENTITY SHENANIGANS (assuming a crossover where Kate can maintain a secret identity for more than 30 seconds) does the general public think that Dick is dating Hawkeye? That Kate is dating Nightwing? DO THE BUTTS MATCH????
How long before she gives up and starts calling him Dick? She absolutely can't at first, stop LAUGHING, Tommy, and at first the Batfam thinks she's kind of posh and weird like Damian because she's calling him "Richard" does he even actually want to be called Dick she doesn't know!
How into it is Dick when they go to some super shitty bar in Bludhaven and she kicks his ass at pool? He is so super into it its not even funny, honestly any time Kate kicks his ass he is VERY into it.
Kate is out here a small business owner where she is LITERALLY a detective and then at night saving the world? Dick why does that weirdly sound like Bruce? Dick? Do you call Kate daddy Dick WHY ARE YOU RUNNING AWAY ITS A SERIOUS QUESTION
Also I was looking at this on my phone and my eye caught the phrase "struck out" and I am obSESSed with Dick striking out with Kate (trying to date her to get intel on her dad?) while Jason actually gets her to agree to dinner and obviously Jason will never let Dick forget this ever. After dinner--during dinner?--something happens and that's when they realize that Hawkeye (who has been flirting with Nightwing and they're sort of crime fighting dating) just went on a date with Red Hood (they shoot at each other once a week) and that Kate TURNED DOWN the guy she has actually sort of BEEN DATING FOR TWO MONTHS???
Tim texts the entire Batfam about this. Babs steals Kate's phone and texts her entire team. It's terribly embarrassing for Dick and Kate but really brings their teams together.
DICK ADVISING KATE ON GETTING A SIDEKICK?!?!? Damian trying to convince kid!Loki to be Kate's sidekick? DAMIAN AND KATE TEAMUP WHEN DICK IS SICK!?!?! And just. The amount the Batfam would adore Kate. Because she's Kate, because of how happy Dick is when he's with her, because she shares interests with like all of them, Kate and Damian SWORDFIGHTING
I can't decide if Dick's acrobatic training is the only reason he can beat Kate in a fight, or if it's the only reason Kate can beat Dick in a fight (I think they're pretty evenly matched.) On the one hand, Dick's use of acrobatics in his fighting style is pretty unusual and even trained fighters are going to be unprepared for some of his moves. On the other hand, I can see Clint either showing Kate some tricksy moves from his circus days, or Kate just picking it up by observing him. Idk it would be very funny because the acrobatics thing is unique, it gives Dick's moves an edge and he's honestly not used to losing fights and then Kate just. Fucking clotheslines him.
Now that I think about it,
Okay. okay. For Kate, fighting Dick is a lot like fighting Clint. They're built similar and have the acrobatics background. Kate is used to fighting people like Dick. Dick is less used to fighting people like Kate. You remember that picture of an eagle sitting next to a housecat, where it was captioned "I eat things like you, but not your size/I eat things your size but not like you"? That's them.
They also do yoga together after a long night of fighting crime. Also Kate is so protective of Dick it's kind of funny, Dick is ABSOLUTELY capable of taking care of himself but he is SO OKAY with Kate taking care of him, of her being a little feral about him in public, he wants the title of Boytoy. Tim says that Dick is Kate's poor little meow meow and look. points were made. Dick is just SO GOOPY about her in private but if you so much as look at Hawkeye in that tone of voice Nightwing will wreck your shit.

If you got to write an ongoing for Rose, what major arcs would you do? Would you have her ice Slade? Would she team up with Jason's Outsiders, end up with Tatsu or Babs, or be her own free agent occasionally punching other heroes?
oh my god yes. im just kinda gonna start dumping thoughts here with no organization im so sorry but here we go
so first of all i know i will never get this but my ideal rose ongoing would be her working mostly alone but sometimes teaming up with people bc she doesnt like to stay with anyone for long but she DOES work with other people when she needs them
shes been in gotham for a while so id prob keep her there and have her team up with other ppl in gotham every once in a while bc. i want her to. i just think gotham is a good place for her because it is a city of the most stubborn people in the world so she would fit right in
id prob have her do kind of the same thing she was up to in Fresh Hell and taking down various crime rings bc i dont really see her caring much about the costumed villains, not to mention there are a hundred other vigilantes in gotham for the Big Bads
also having her in gotham kind of opens up so many roads SO. gotham vigilante teamups <3 first things first i feel the need to say her and bruce would not have any need to interact and i dont think either of them would really want to fhdkjfhdsf like rose is trained and mostly doesnt kill people so i dont think batman would really care what shes doing until she does something bad, and rose wouldnt really like batman (for various reasons that i wont go into rn) so they would kinda just be doing their own thing
ANYWAYS in general i think that the idea of rose teaming up with bats is sooooo funny bc most of the bats are very meticulous planners and make whole schemes for everything they do. while 90% of the time roses plan is "im gonna go in and start punching people and see what happens" so i think she would give whoever shes working with an aneurysm and thats kind of hilarious to me
i want her to team up with steph and cass for homoerotic reasons because they all have so many narrative parallels, ESPECIALLY with cass so i need them to team up again <3 idk what they would be up to besides getting on each others nerves but i need it so bad
also rose & jason Now.. they r besties to me. i feel like they get into a lot of the same shit so they would also team up fairly often :) not to mention both of them have abandonment issues so they would have the most toxic friendship that constantly shifts between codependency and disappearing whenever something bad happens <3 besties<3333333
honorable mention teamups are babs who im pretty sure ive already talked about a babs&rose teamup before so i wont go into it, helena who i honestly have only read in bop so idk a lot about her but from what i do know i think she and rose would get along, harley who i would only want her to team up with because it would be a fucking mess, dick who i want her to team up with because it would also be a fucking mess but in a different way (renegade arc part 2 but this time theyre both heroes so rose can annoy him even more), duke who i want to include just because i love him even though i cant imagine any reason for him and rose to interact, young justice who arent all gotham heroes but i want them to be around to temporarily absorb rose just for fun, and the entire arrowfam who have no reason to be in gotham but i just want rose to fuck around with them as a treat to ME
as for slade. i think that their relationship is best written when it is really complicated for her :) so i need her to fall back into the cycle of going to him and looking for his approval and being constantly disappointed and angry when he refuses to give it to her :)
anyways ARCS. i dont have a lot of specific ideas for arcs besides another arc of rose giving up the name ravager (bc it didnt fucking stick last time), an arc making her a lesbian (stop booing me im right) and maybe an arc of rose killing slade then immediately spiraling about it bc :))))) yippee :))))))))))
okay this is already embarrassingly long so im gonna stop but i just have so many rose thoughts dc hire me

Ignore literally every typo n stuff. I wrote this up as a summary of a 3hr convo I had w a buddy not long after the Jason Fear Augmentaion issue dropped 👍
(Below cut bc I'm insane👍👍)
Opening with Tim at Jason’s funeral, just going through the motions. It passes quickly. It’s only been a couple days and it was a small funeral of close family and friends. Everyone is a little wary of Bruce being there since it is kind of his fault. Tim goes home and continues to monologue to himself about how Jason can’t be dead, and the story begins taking a similar route to Bruce being lost in the timestream during RedRobin 2009, including Dick coming by to check on him.
Debating on if/when I would want to resurrect Ives or Lonnie. Ives would be decently early on, before Tim has gotten the chance to leave Gotham and start looking for Jason/processing death. So that Ives ends up dragged in because he’ll know he died. Versus Lonnie being resurected after Tim has ran rampant for a while and mostly overcome denial of Jason’s death. (Either way) This leads Tim into a mode of, “well, if you came back, he can. He has before.” Which is a very in-your-face Bargaining Metaphor. I’m thinking Lonnie returns because of Darkseid stuff during Tim’s world-tour. He ends up acting as a moral compass but moreso in the sense that he’ll ask why Tim chose to do/not do certain things. (They’ll get some degree of philosophical about it all. Morality Napkin will be mentioned). It’s after Lonnie’s return that Tim starts to privately get necromantically dubious to potential bring Jason back. This inevitably gets used on local civillians and teammates. He’s insane. Continuously through this bargaining arc, he’s mulling over how and why Jason “”died”” (double quotations because Tim thinks it’s not real) and where he might really be. It’s important that the reader also thinks Jason can/will come back. We gotta tie the audience to Reader-Insert Tim Drake, lol. Have flashbacks to Jason having a “civillian” life and being a discount personal Oracle to Tim and just general brother bonding, since Tim had more recently leaned back into properly balancing his work/vigilante life with civilian life. And not once else was really checking in and hanging out with Jason anyways, since they’re so busy and he’s clearly so capable. Maybe Tim was already actively working on a backout for the brain alteration, but couldn’t work it out before Jason had a lethal reaction or offed himself. I think Tim should have some kind of grudge and/or animosity towards Bruce before storming off. I think Tim should blow up at Bruce in the back during Jason’s funeral yelling that Jason’s “”death”” was Bruce’s fault.
As for running rampant, I’d like to bring Pru back into light, she’s fun(and whenever he gets back to Gotham, before(/if?) Jason comes back, bring Tam in again. I really want him dealing with villains other than the usual Gotham crowd, because there’s monotony in throwing the same guys in jail/asylum over and over again. You know what they’re going to do and how. It’s easy to not kill them or even want to. Other villains, though. Other states or countries.. Yikes. It gives perspective. At some point, I want him to grieve over a villain that dies while he and his crew are fighting them. He doesn’t kill. This is his fault. Maybe a member of a temporary teamup(someone local to the area) dies. He should’ve been able to save them. It’s his fault. Again. There’s a villain that continues to let Tim percievably get close to winning, but continuously kills some other hero and/or civillian. TIm doesn’t kill this villain, but a teammate does. “Tim/[“hero” name]. You don’t kill.” “And I didn’t.” “You let me.” Some degree of shock and satisfaction, but mostly worry. Maybe “It’s equally my fault I let you off [villain] as it is my fault that it’s my fault [causalties] died.” “But [villain] killed them. How is that your fault?” “Then how is it my fault you killed [villain]?” It’d be so morally fucked up if he resurected villains because at least if he did it wrong, they were already dead, right? Kill ‘em again. 99 pile up. I’m making him resurect 99 things. I feel evil. I can’t let him resurect Ives, though… I can’t. I think if, during his necromancy era, he did think of resurrecting Ives, he’d think about it way harder than other subject. He’s a civilian, he’s been dead for a while, he had/has cancer, he has family, he doesn’t know about the reality of heroes and stuff. I think Tim choosing not to resurrect Ives would be a key shift to move on from bargaining.
Enter in depression about his friends and family and civillians and villains, even, dying. I think he’s still being morally dubious, but again, another key turning point of him choosing whether he’d choose a heroic or villainous path. He’s good at acting as a villain, he might’ve even enjoyed it for a while. Maybe even notice that he can get away with more, knowing that his foil heroes aren’t going to kill him… He gets perspective. He flips back and forth, uncertain of his place in the world. Stuff about him taking the Renegade mantle and Slade popping up a couple times during that. Whatever, I’ll need to read Stuff to understand better( or maybe Druid& will dump on me 🥺). Slade dies, I guess. Joey, Rose and Tim grieve together. Rose and Joey have done it before, and Tim’s mostly through his Jason Journey already. It’s nice.
Tim comes home. And, I don’t know what order/if I want to do all of this, but.. Is Jason back already, or does that happen after Tim’s settled back into routine(choosing to balance civvie and vigilante life)? Tim gets a new gifted vigilante name, but from who? Pru&co? Once Again Risen Jason(new bread type)? Joey/Rose? Slade? Fuck, man.
Fuck, grief that Jason’s back? I don’t even want to bring Jason back at this point, actually. Keep him dead. Would be funny if Tim’s recent necromancy just let’s him called the beyond dead to catch up over the phone, lol. He won’t bring him back, that’s an established agreement between them both. But the concept of secondly resurrected Jason having to cope with his own death and moving on from his own death. The coming to terms with being your own person(Tim) and coming to terms with being a new person(Jason)... They’re fundamentally different than they used to be. They’re different together. Blah, blah. Either way it’s a probably nice ending.

Prompt #3402
"You're a weird team, you know? Everything from a world-conquering supervillain to a small time thief. No one can figure out what holds you together."
"Not even you, [journalist]?"
"Don't mock the curious," they retorted. "Either fess up or quit smirking over it."
The villain stretched, long and luxurious, a cat confined to human skin. "Fine, I'll give you your headline. Our secret? It's-"

DO YOU WANT TO READ MOON KNIGHT?
are you a show fan who's learned about how terrible the MCU did moon knight and you want to check out the comics? did you see him in a teamup book and want to know more about him? are you just looking for more comic recs? are you just interested in the character? then you're in the right place!
okay, to begin, i want to say that this is a character that has had a... varying history. there are no moon knight comics you can enjoy without extensive criticism. critisizing the things that you enjoy is good and gives you a better understanding of the work. please do not idolize any of these comics and please work to be kind to the many minorities (jewish people and systems, primarily, but classism, racism, xenophobia, and homophobia are all explored throughout MK's publishing history) that these comics represent. anyway.
MOON KNIGHT 1980 -
tws - doylist racism (racist villainous charactictures, mostly. a lot of this), ableism (outdated terminology for systemhood, occasional slurs), and sexism. extensive discussion of anti-semitism, specifically neo-nazism, in issues 37 and 38.
what happens - moon knight 1980 is a 38 issue comic book centering on the ex-mercenary and now hero moon knight. almost entirely episodic but there are occasionally multi-issue stories.
moon knight, in the day, is the millionare socialite steven grant, and, at night, the hero moon knight- moon knight also "uses" jake lockley as an informant. marc spector was the mercenary moon knight ran away from. doug moench was NOT intending to write a system at this point- steven and marcs relationship is meant to represent one mans struggle with guilt- but its really really easy to gel this with their current situation of being alters in a system and also some of the specifics of their whole thing make me fucking insane. jake is also there and i love him even if he isnt really a major part of the moral conflict
please dont read all 38 issues- attatched is a list of my personal ratings. everything later calls back to this so its best practice to read it first but its very much a slog if you arent already attatched to this character so make your own choice
Tumblr media
nothing from 1980 to 2014 is particularly good (you can read it if you want but i havent) but knowing what happened is pretty important to understanding the later modern runs so a runthrough. throughout the 90s mk continued in the 80s status quo but in 2006 he 1. cut off bushmans (remember that guy from 1980?) face 2. was given a tendency for violence and and 3. became significantly more tense with marlene and frenchie. by 2014 they had completely fallen out. thats all we can continue with the recs now
[Image ID: A list of Moon Knight 1980 issues colored based on their quality. Issues 4, 7-11, 15, 17-20, and 28 are marked as "not good." Issue 27 is marked as "not good makes me insane though." Issues 3, 5, 6, 13, 16, 21, 34, and 35 are marked as "fun." Issues 2, 12, 14, 22 to 26, and 29 to 33, are marked as "good writing." 37 and 38 are marked as "genuinely essential." 1 and 36 are not marked. 29 is denoted as "slightly weird about his DID" and issues 6, 21, and 22, are denoted as "racist." End ID.]
WHAT HAPPENS IN BETWEEN -
MOON KNIGHT 2014 -
tws - graphic violence. do not buy the book new, warren ellis is an awful person. brief (doylist) ableism.
what happens in it - the first six issues are the warren ellis/declan shalvey run, which is what im reccomending. read the rest if you want, its mediocre but i like it
moon knight 2014 is 6 episodic issues centering on a now alone marc spector. steven and jake only show up twice, both lineless appearances in the back of panels. most of the issues are significantly more violent, dark, callbacks to old 1980 issues. most of the run is silent violence from marc but all of the stories are really good and the art is breathtaking.
MOON KNIGHT 2016 -
tws - unreality. mental hospitals. both doylist and watsonian ableism.
what happens - i am reccomending the lemire/smallwood + co run, the 15 issues before the numbers shoot up. i have not read the bemis run.
moon knight 2016 is 15 issues situated in a hallucinatory version of NYC, following moon knight as he struggles against khonshu's attempts to possess him. the thing is a lot of things in 2016 piss me off so i cant exactly sing its praises but its super important to modern moon knight so just. slog through it. highly reccomend reading after 1980 because it refrences A Lot.
MOON KNIGHT 2021 -
tws - violence, discussion of anti-semitism in issue 5.
what happens - i am reccomending the first 16 issues. the annual sort of triggered a falling off for the series and so i have not read after #16. read the later issues at your own risk
moon knight 2021 follows moon knight as he opens the midnight mission, gains multiple new side characters, and reckons with the consequences of the age of khonshu (an event in jason aarons avengers which is explained fine in 2021 so you dont have to read it). most of the series is typical action juxtaposed with MK's SHEILD-ordered therapy sessions. issues 14 and 15 are possibly the first time jake and steven have been written well since 1980. unfortunately, the annual is deeply xenophobic (villianizing the only romanian hero in marvel) and i have stopped reading the series due to this. the first 16 issues are really good though
MOON KNIGHT BLACK WHITE AND BLOOD -
tws - violence.
what happens - mkbwb is 4 issues consisting of 12 noncanon moon knight stories, as is typical for bwb series. most of them are pretty good and fun and also really pretty.
OTHER MOON KNIGHT STUFF -
- ms. marvel and moon knight
- devils reign: moon knight - tw violence, prisons
- west coast avengers 1985, issues 25-41
- hulk 1978 issues 11-20 (not #16), b stories.
- moon knight 2006 issue 3 - for frenchies coming out scene, which is good. not anything else
- heroes for hire 2011 - hes only in a few issues but im not saying which ones because i want you to read the whole thing. because its good
- defenders 1972 issues 47-51 - its Very 70s but its cute and i like it :)
- werewolf by night 32 and 33 - his first appearance!
ENDING THOUGHTS - please god listen to and make a point to be kind to systems and jewish people when you talk about MK.

Tiger and Bunny S2
I cant believe we got a S2 and its as good as S1. First things first, lets talk about the buddy system:
Antonio and Ivan
I don't have much to say aside from Im not so sure about their partnership it feels they paired all of the others first and they were the leftovers. If anyone has something to add to this, go ahead.
Tumblr media
Subaru and Thomas
Im not fond of either but they may get more development on the next cour, although I admit I would be interest on a vigilante Thomas arc if they dare to do it. They finally are on good terms so I might warm up to them next time but for now their flaws (impulsiveness/distrust) are too extreme to be a balanced team.
Tumblr media
Nathan and Keith
Who would have thought those two veterans would be the Dream Team? (Sorry, Tiger and Bunny...). I loved all of their appearances and they are so wholesome, a great match in personality and powers. Nathan is fantastic they really let them be their glorious self on this season, and Keith continues to be his himbo self, now with a new dog.
Tumblr media
Pao and Lara
Kid grew up so much, I love her older sister vibe, she is so good at it and we get to see a new side of her, also Lara’s arc is fantastic and quite realistic also wtf they let 14yos fight crime. Lara being afraid and not being able to use her powers and being the weakest link on the hero team up is to be expected, kudos to her to standing up to her mom.
Tumblr media
 Karina and Ryan
My biggest surprise is that I like Ryan now, they really fleshed out his character and he is a great match for Karina. They balance each other out perfectly, she can call him out and he helps her to go after the things she wants, they help the other grow and become a better person. I honestly expected nothing from this teamup (mostly Ryan) but color me surprised I enjoyed their dynamic so much. It is clear Karina is still in love with Kotetsu but maybe she will benefit of having Ryan as a friend and as a somewhat positive male role.
Tumblr media
Tiger and Bunny
They continue to be an old married couple and before I go on I need to say that whomever who had the idea for the jealously episode should get a raise. Also this show is so well written, all of the characters are likable, have motivations and arcs, they managed to mix the slice of life with action and character development perfectly, all of them get their spotlight.
This cour was so good and it liked up to S1. Things I loved:
Keith has a second dog
The duo’s banter, trust
Barnaby has plant friends
Good use of angst, I swear anime/TV shows rarely use angst
All heroes show weakness! We see them being afraid, they cry, they are scared, and all its presented as natural and normal, no judging
Everyone has their chance to shine
Kaede
All of the parents/grandparents hiding their worry/ dealing with it differently
The new characters are good additions to the narrative
The fights were brutal
The hospital angst, hospital parallels
Barnaby once again having a terrible christmas
Barnaby finally having 1 friend who is not evil
The villains and main conflict was good/ makes sense and sets the stage for the 2nd cour

Febuwhump day 3: "Bite down on this,"
Content warning: gunshot wound, rough caretaking
“Damnit, why the hell would you do that?!”
“I didn’t–I–,” Hero only stuttered in response, barely understandable. They were practically limp at Villain’s side, arm draped over Villain’s shoulder as they were dragged through the wilderness surrounding Supervillain’s forest.
Hero’s breath was coming out in panicked, choked wheezes, eyes wide and distant. Each frantic beat sent another gush of blood down their body, dripping from Hero’s side to fill the space between Hero’s and Villain’s bodies. Villain could feel the blood beginning to drip down their leg.
“I don’t need you to take a damn bullet for me! Not when we have no idea what Supervillain is capable of!” Villain hissed, voice tight.
“I don’t know why this is happening–!” Hero squeaked, a half scream. Their usual confidence was shattered, replaced with a genuine, raw fear that put Villain’s teeth on edge.
Villain didn’t know why it was happening either. Hero had taken far, far worse than a bullet without so much as bruising. A bullet should’ve been nothing to them. That fact was the only reason Villain had agreed to their teamup to defeat Supervillain. Hero was there to act like their shield, a big, dumb wall of muscle between Supervillain’s men and Villain.
So when Hero, that ever smug grin plastered onto their face, had swooped in between Villain and the barrel of Supvervillain’s gun, Villain’s only concern was the self-satisfied comments they would have to endure for allowing Hero to save their life.
They hadn’t expected shock to replace Hero’s grin. They hadn’t expected Hero to drop to the ground like a rock at their feet, eyes wide as red spread across their torso. They hadn’t expected a gleeful cackle from Supervillain, nor that the next sound to come out of Hero would be a scream.
And now they were running, dragging Hero’s half-limp body through the forest, Supervillain’s henchmen on their tails. They would die out here, hunted like simple prey animals, if something didn’t change soon.
“We’re stopping here,” Villain abruptly spoke, stopping when they found a small clearing. They moved over towards a fallen tree and, ignoring Hero’s cries of protest, rearranged their body to rest in a sitting position.
Hero’s body shook with effort as they tried to sit down. Their strength failed them halfway through, knees buckling and nearly sending them crumbling roughly to the ground. When they were finally positioned against the tree, Hero’s hands instantly moved to cover their injury.
Villain kneeled down and batted the hands away. Hero’s bloodied fingers still hovered anxiously near their torso.
It looked like a normal bullet wound, a fact that itself put Villain’s nerves on edge. Blood poured insistently from it, the red stain spreading with each second. Hero wouldn’t survive losing blood at that rate for long.
Villain leaned closer, until their eyes caught a flash of light. In the darkness of the forest, Villain could see something flashing a dull, unnatural green inside the wound. Whatever Supervillain had created to attack Hero with, it was still inside.
“I’m going to take the bullet out. Hold still.”
“W-what?! No-nononono I don’t–,” Panic instantly gripped Hero, their already paleing face nearly turning sheet white. They attempted to stumble to their feet, only to crumple back down with a choked gasp. “I’ve taken worse than this! Just–don’t touch it!”
“You have taken worse. I’ve personally thrown worse at you, and I’ve never once seen you bleed,” Villain pulled away for a moment, digging through their toolbelt to find anything they could use. “Something is wrong. Whatever bullet Supervillain made, it’s nullifying your powers. We have to remove it; you’ll either bleed out or be killed by Supervillain’s forces otherwise.”
“No!” Desperation laced the shout, so raw that Villain couldn’t help but stare at Hero in shock. Hero’s eyes were wild with terror as they squeezed their body against the tree, as if they could sink into the wood and hide away.
“I–I’ve never had to do anything like this! Nothing–,” tears were flowing unbidden now, leaving Hero to gasp pitifully. “Nothing’s ever hurt me! It’s gonna hurt, oh god it’s gonna hurt…I can’t do it!”
For a moment, Villain only stared, taken aback at hearing Hero, brave and obnoxious Hero, blubbering like a civilian.
The cruel part of their nature wanted to laugh. Here was their brave nemesis, someone who flew into danger without a second thought, who had faced countless enemies without fear, sniveling like a child at the doctor’s office. It was laughable, that Hero would be so terrified by something as simple as pain.
But the true terror, so foreign on Hero’s features, killed any humor Villain could feel at the situation.
It was very possible that Hero was right, that they’d truly never experienced something so natural as pain. When would they have, when even deadly force did nothing but inconvenience them? If a building falling on them couldn’t cause a bruise, what chance did everyday life have of harming them?
Hero had spent years, perhaps their entire lives, flying above the woes of mankind, immune to the pain they fought to protect others from. They’d simply never been hurt. And now their first taste of that so natural of hardships came in the form of a bullet lodged in their side.
For a brief moment Villain envied their usual immunity. For a much longer moment, they pitied Hero for their ignorance.
But they didn’t have time for pity.
“Please!” Hero sobbed, “Please, just leave it! It hurts, it’ll hurt–,”
“Look at me,” With rough hands, Villain grabbed Hero’s chin, silencing their pleas. They forced Hero’s tearful gaze forward. Terrified, shining eyes meeting Villain’s own determined glare.
“Yes, it will hurt. It’s going to hurt like hell, and you’re going to act like the damn hero you claim to be and take it. Do you understand me?” Villain didn’t break their stare for a moment. “I am not letting you die here. Supervillain doesn’t deserve the privilege of ending you. It is going to hurt, and you are going to endure it and save both our asses. Alright?”
For a long moment, Villain thought Hero would continue to fight them. They were still trembling, jaw shaking with muffled sobs, tears dripping onto Villain’s hand. Their whimpers were the only sound in the clearing.
But then something shifted in their eyes. It was not their usual strength or determination, it wasn’t bravery. It was something tearful and weak, but so trusting that it nearly knocked Villain off their feet.
So faintly that Villain almost mistook it for a tremor, Hero nodded. Villain nodded back.
They made quick work of preparing themselves. They turned to grab a handful of their cape, quickly tearing several strips to act as bandages. They scanned the forest floor and, after a moment of searching, found what they were looking for.
They brushed the dirt from a nearby stick, and presented it to Hero.
“Here, bite down on this. You’ll need it.”
Hero didn’t reach to grab the offered gag. Arms still pinned to their torso, Hero opened their mouth, leaning forward only slightly. Not unkindly, Villain placed the wood between their teeth. Hero bit down.
Gently, Villain moved Hero's body to the forest floor, laying them flat to expose their wound. Hero whined, low and pained, but their eyes never left Villain.
Villain returned to their toolbelt. After a moment of digging in their toolbelt, they found what they were looking for. A pair of long, thin tweezers, usually used for handling delicate wires, was held in their fingers. It would have to do.
Villain pulled themselves closer, trapping Hero’s legs with their own so they could sit over them, giving themselves full access to the injury. “Now, I need you to let me see your hands.”
Hesitantly, Hero’s hands moved instead to rest against Villain’s knees. They squeezed, grip tight.
Villain reached out and brushed a strand of hair from Hero’s face.
And then they got to work.

Was reading @artbyblastweave‘s excellent post here on why the Parahumans-verse has no Magneto equivalent/cape rights struggles, and had some loose thoughts come together. Because apart from all the reasons he lists, I think an aspect that Worm deals with excellently is the fact that the PRT seems constantly worried that capes are one incident away from being seen the same way as Marvel mutants. Cauldron and the PRT both express anxieties about how certain events will be the tipping point that finally convinces the public that capes are more trouble to deal with than their worth, throwing a huge wrench in the “have as much cape firepower available as possible” long-term plan. The Protectorate was founded largely to combat such public movements before they could seriously develop. It’s part of why Glen was so concerned with Taylor’s image past the point of all practicality—having a former villain would naturally make a lot of people distrustful of the new heroic organization, so all the stops had to be pulled to cement a true heel-face turn.
Its especially notable how this undergirds the cops-and-robbers relationship. A delicate balancing act is attempted by all the major organizations where there are never so many villains that the heroes can’t maintain a semblance of order, but there’s also never so few villains that the heroes feel superfluous. This is probably part of why cauldron releases so many case-53s into situations where they’d obviously turn to villainy, and why they program them with a built-in defeat feature for sale. For capes existence to be justified, they need to be seen as indispensable, for them to be protectors against ever-present threats. The Endbringers are great for that, but for the more day-to-day toleration, you need the Fallen. You need the Merchants. Most distressingly, according to the priorities of the powers that be, you need E88.
Its always been a weird sticking point for me that its the ABB we see as the first target of a villain alliance (and silent hero alliance) when the E88 are right there, turning Brockton Bay into the-place-to-be for nazi fucks and actively committing racial violence on a regular basis. Surely a concerted effort could wipe them out, surely Alexandria could take twenty minutes out of her day to raze their organization to the ground. Hell, the Coil/Undersiders/Travelers teamup actually managed to run their splinter groups out of the city. Why is Kaiser leading a cape coalition, rather than being on its receiving end? And the answer the text leaves us is that not just despite, but because of the horrors they commit on a daily basis, their more useful to keep around than not. They’re something for the citizens of Brockton Bay to fear, so that the Protectorate presence feels justified. Having them around inspires the type of mindset we see in Taylor at the beginning, where the Protectorate base having a fully functional missile system is “something that makes you feel safer.” Unlike the ABB under Bakuda, they’re largely a known element, unlikely to disturb the balance that preserves public relations. And while non-capes with any institutional power may be distressed by the property damage caused by Bakuda’s bombing run, and could start general cape outcry, such people wouldn’t have the same response to E88. After all, they could potentially be the victim of one of the bombs! The E88? Their victims will always be someone else. Anyone who cares enough to do something about it isn’t given a voice.
Once you realize this, it becomes the largest indictment of every institution present in Worm.

Ok so I was like thinking about the whole Lila Redemption Arc thing we talked about for PoD post-Princess Justice (and with the lack of a Chloe-and-Lila-teamup and the fact of people knowing she's a liar now make it so that she's gonna have a very very different thing going on here than she does in the show... and also probably change a ton of events and akumas given how stuff like Kagami's akumatizations in this season were because of her-) and the whole thing with the Lion Miraculous and Kirby legitimately trusting that she can get better enough that he willingly gives it to her as encouragement for her to improve and stuff. And like this led to me thinking:
So of course given the changed situation, Lila wouldn't become Hoaxer. But imagine if instead she like.
So she's been allying with Monarch and stuff (idk if you'd keep her knowing that Gabriel Agreste is him or not [I forgot if she ever like talked to him about it or not, just that she like out two and two together and came to that conclusion. I forgot did she ever get concrete evidence?-], maybe not considering how she could just out him the moment she goes good... though in a twist of irony imagine her saying this and no one believing her now XD) but. Imagine if throughout all of that she still has yet to tell him about the Lion. Like she's been keeping it with her this whole time and just hasn't done anything with it. Hasn't even been able to bring herself to put it on and use it.
Idk what would happen like along the way leading up to this and what the inciting incident would be but like. Imagine something leads her to getting akumatized (possibly related to feeling irredeemable or something? Probably still directs those feelings out at others at least partially), and the akuma lands on the Lion Miraculous. Either she becomes some kind of corrupted version of what her hero form would be or, if she doesn't put it on, she becomes some kind of Lion-esque creature or monster.
But like. Ok whatever her powers are idk yet (need help brainstorming that XD), but imagine like. Instead of pretending that Marinette successfully talked her down... imagine if like Kirby or maybe one of the redeemed villains from the Kirby series (maybe Magolor or something if they've met by now. Imagine if they had an "episode" meeting prior to this sksnsmmsms-) actually LEGITIMATELY talks her down.
(...I'll admit I wrote this last night and just. Stored it in my notes app 'cus I had already been sending asks and wanted to give you like time to answer them but then I forgot to send this earlier today so- uh-)
