Pretty much like the Kazoo kid
This request was taken from an anon in @equizona‘s blog (Got her permission, don’t worry mah dudes), follow her, her work is amazing!

"You 1-A scums feel like you're so special when you're just a bunch of troublemakers!" There he was again.
"You may have a flashy quirk but you barely ever get to do anything productive with it!" At least he wasn't saying anything to you, because why would anyone say anything to you.
"Hey! Did you hear me?" After all who would notice you anyways. "You with the headphones, are you even listening?"
Wait.
What?
"Man, you were talking to me bro?" You said, surprised by having someone besides Aoyama say anything at all to you. I mean yeah, you were the only one on the patio but that's how weird it was that anyone spoke to you.
"Oh I get it, you think just because you are in 1-A no one from the inferior groups is worth to talk to you" The blond guy kept on with the one-sided argument; it was almost sad, seeing him making all those exaggerated movements while showing that cynic smile of his... Honestly, it was such a mood.
"Nah man, I just think I'm not worth talking to" You retorted with a pose, grinning as if you had just told a great joke and that caught him off guard. "What?-" A heavy hand on the back of his neck cut him off before he could come with a- well he wasn't even sure if he was going for a clever comeback or with an 'are you okay?' but that's not the point here.
Now there was an unconscious body, being held by Kendo and you were still in an awkward pose, amused by what had just happened. "I'm sorry you had to deal with this guy, please don't mind whatever he said"
"Oh! No, it wasn't a bother at all" you said.
"Really?, this guy is such a pain sometimes, I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to punch him." Kendo said jokingly.
"Nah, I'm worse to deal with" you said with that ridiculous pose and grin letting out a giggle.
Holy shit.
That was the cutest thing Monoma had ever heard in his entire goddamn life, but to hide the pretty obvious blush on his face he opted for acting unconscious.
"Well I gotta get going so, I guess I'll see you around?" Kendo said in an awkward tone.
You noticed how she was uncomfortable and quickly retrieved your pose "Y-yeah" you said shyly.
Just as Kendo had left, a friendlier face appeared "Sorry for the lateness" said Aoyama, his dazzlingness sharp as always.
"Don't worry dude, what did Aizawa want anyways?"
"Nothing, he just said my grades are getting worse."
"Welp that sure sounds like nothing." You said in a sarcastic but playful tone.
"What about you, anything happened while you were waiting for me? I saw Kendo dragging Monoma."
"Yeah, he just came at me saying the usual stuff, but at first I didn't know he was talking to me and-" Aoyama interrupted you.
"Hon, who else was he supposed to be talking to? The trees?" He said gesturing at the emptiness surrounding you, astonished by your stupidity.
"Good point" you said in an acknowledging manner.
"Anyways, the thing is he said something and I answered in the way I always do and so I managed to make two persons uncomfortable" You said in a somewhat sad tone.
"Don't give it too much thought" he said, his sparkling aura soothing you somehow.
"Yeah, maybe I shouldn't worry" You reached into your bag and got out a ball of cheese "I gotcha the goods"
Aoyama raised an eyebrow "It's Queso Oaxaca" you said with a smirk.
Later that night Monoma couldn't help but to think of you. Something about you seemed sad but you didn't seem to bother, he tried to sort out if you were just kidding or if you were a nihilist.
"What the hell was that?"
The following days he couldn't help but to observe you, he started noticing little things, for example; you were a god-tier memer and your personality was similar to Kaminari's but the reason why you didn't hang with him is that you were too shy to do so.
Aoyama was your best and only friend.
You had a strong quirk but passed unnoticed by your previously mentioned shyness.
You were indeed a nihilist. But not the usual kind, instead of getting depressed by all of your pessimism you would embrace it with humour.
Ironically you wanted to become a hero to make the world a little bit better, or perhaps so that you could talk about how everything sucks without having anyone telling you how you weren’t doing anything about it.
Monoma didn’t seem to realize how much he liked you until Kendo addressed the issue.
"Stop staring at her before she sues you"
"I'm not staring at anyone!" Monoma lied, his face growing redder with both anger and embarrassment.
"It's kinda funny tho" Kendo started speaking as she cut the meat on her lunch tray "You hate class 1-A yet you are head over heels for one of them" she said taking a bite of her food.
"Well I don't like her and I'm gonna prove it to you" Monoma said as he stood up and walked towards the table where Aoyama and you were sitting.
He leaned and was preparing an insult but how could he say anything like that to you, that's illegal.
"Anything I can help you with?" You said raising an eyebrow. That was his cue.
"Oh, nothing I was just wondering, how does it feel to belong to the oh so great class 1-A and yet be unnoticed by everyone inside and out of your class?"
Now he had done it.
He was scolding himself internally for saying that and was prepared to accept anything you would do next.
"Well I've been watching you and you have been staring at me, so I'm not really being unnoticed bro"
"And why were you looking at me?" Monoma asked genuinely confused.
"Well I just think you look pretty"
Monoma froze at your commentary along with Aoyama and Kendo who were watching the whole thing unfold.
That was pretty bold of you and Monoma's now usual blush came back to his cheeks, his chest tightening; 'well you're very pretty too' that's what he wanted to say, but the words didn't come out of his mouth.
"Pretty much like the Kazoo kid" you said abruptly.
"NICE ONE (Y/N)-CHAN"
You heard Mina shout from the table in front of you, you turned to see Aoyama's look of disappointment and Monoma was nowhere to be seen.
"You chickened out" said Aoyama.
You were back at the dorms and were currently lying face down on the floor of Yuga's room
"Dude I know, I just- I don't think I have the guts to do so"
"But you did!"
"Yeah but I remembered he definitely doesn't like me and saved my ass from suffering an embarrassing rejection!"
You felt Yuga grab your right foot and drag you outside his room. "What the hell Yuga?!"
"(Y/N) I'm doing this for your own good" The blonde boy said in a serious tone. "You are hereby exiled from the dormitories and are not to return until you have properly confessed to that Kazoo kid."
And then he slammed the door in your face.
You then proceeded to walk towards the 1-B dormitories.
You knew Yuga was right. You had been watching Neito for a long time now, and boy did you have the most gigantic crush on him.
There was something about him you couldn't help but to be attracted to.
Yes, he was annoying and he hated your class with a burning passion but when he wasn't attacking your class he was working hard to become a hero and helping his class.
He sure had leader material and you admired his determination.
You liked how kind he was.
How supportive he was towards his classmates.
How he was always giving his best and helping others to do so.
But then again, he hated your class and you by default, but that didn't make him any less charming to you, if anything more unattainable.
You had to apologize and tell him the truth, you had already accepted he would never like you back so you weren't going to 'give it a try' more like get it off your chest.
You were a pessimist because you were either right all the time or gladly surprised by being wronged. So it was more like a cushion.
You were almost arriving at the dormitories when you saw Monoma sitting under a tree reading a book. He was relaxed, something weird to see with how he acted around your class all the time. 'Freaking Avril Lavigne is right' you thought.
The sunset graced his features making his golden hair shine.
"What a cliché scenario" You said making Neito look away from his book.
"Oh it's you again, what do you want now?" His tone wasn't like all those times he would mock you and your class, it sounded dry and it hurt you.
"Sorry I uh" you were stammering, you weren't the best at apologizing, and apologizing to your crush was even harder.
"I wanted to apologize, for what I said earlier" You said fidgeting your fingers and looking at the ground.
"I didn't mean that- well I mean I did-"
"Don't worry" He interrupted you in that monotone voice that hurt you so much to hear "Just leave it like that."
"Y-yeah" Again you weren't able to tell him how you felt.
"Is that all?" Monoma said while staring at you.
"Actually, no" you said as you looked him in the eye with a determined gaze.
oh shit
"I did mean what I said earlier" shit, no.
"You do, look pretty much like the Kazoo kid" no, stop you dumbhead.
"But"
"Y-you also look very pretty. And I like you a lot Monoma."
...
He just stared at you with a surprised look on his face.
There was nothing but silence
"Andlikeyeahyou'rereallyhotandstuffandlikedamnbro" You just blurted out looking at the ground again.
This was the most embarrassing moment in your entire life and it only got worse as you heard that asshole burst into laughter.
Tears were threatening to fall from your eyes when you felt his soft fingers lift up your chin and you were suddenly staring into his blue gaze.
"You are weird, you know that?" His voice sounded so sweet and smooth which caught you off guard making you blush even more, which was a surprise.
"You are very pretty too and I also like you a lot" His gaze was soft and the way he spoke to you was enough to make you melt.
"And" he said leaning in closer to your ear "You also have pretty lips" he said in a low tone with what you could have sworn was a smirk but you weren't able to see it well because next thing you knew he was kissing you.
You closed your eyes and kissed him back, it was your first kiss as well as his; it was clumsy, a bit sloppy but it was beautiful.
You broke the kiss, your head resting against his chest, both of you breathing heavily and blushing madly.
"I think we're gonna have to practice on that" you said, a dumb smile across your face.
"Yeah, but only if you agree to become my girlfriend" Neito said caressing your cheek.
You planted a peck on his lips.
"I don't see why not, kazoo kid."

Chapter 5: Cursed
The months passed quickly in the Kingdom. Rose Red and her beloved Fandral became the Kingdom's most wanted and notorious bandits. But perhaps what angered her evil Uncle most was the people rallied around them, seeing them as a symbol of hope. Under her evil Uncle's rule, he had grown richer, while her people grew poorer and starved. And Rose was determined to change that. She and Fandral soon built a following of those willing and able to fight as well. Their small band of skilled warriors stole from the King and gave to the poor villages.
Despite living in hiding and constantly moving around to keep from being captured, Rose Red and Fandral were deeply in love and found they could not wait for a formal wedding. So under a blossoming tree, on a quiet day, one of their most trusted Knights performed their wedding ceremony. They already considered themselves married on the night they first made love and with this ceremony, they made it official. Many of their soldiers and the villagers witnessed and were overjoyed by their union.
"It is my honor to both witness and join these two in the bonds of marriage," Zorro said, as they stood beneath a cherry blossom tree that was in full bloom.
"Though our Kingdom is at war with an evil King, it is love that gives us all hope. And the people find their hope in the love they have witnessed between the two of you," he continued.
"Even the most cynical of us has been amazed by the love we have witnessed between the pair of you and we know that when we do take back this Kingdom that we will have the leadership we deserve in you," he said.
"And now, express your vows to one another and let us witness the words your hearts speak," he said, as Rose and Fandral joined hands. Some of the seamstresses in the village had surprised her by presenting her with a white dress. It was very simple and modest, but she loved it and had thanked them profusely. And to her beloved, she had never looked more beautiful. He wore his familiar Asgardian warrior dress, much to Rose's liking, for she would never want him in anything else.
"I have led the life of a warrior and been to hundreds of places. As a warrior, I resigned myself to the fact that love may not be a luxury I could afford. I was but a warrior, whose life only mattered in the sake of protecting Asgard. In many ways, I was an insignificant cog in a much larger wheel. And now I know why, for my true destiny was here. Never in my fourteen hundred years did I ever meet someone like you. Someone so kind, brave, and beautiful, inside and out," he said.
"You saved my life by bartering a favor at your own expense when you did not even know me. You are the Queen this Kingdom deserves and I will do my best, for the rest of my days, to be the husband you deserve," he continued.
"I love you...I've never been in love like this in my very long life and you are everything to me now. I feel like, despite my fourteen hundred years, I am just now beginning my life. To be your husband...it will be the greatest gift that I will ever have, my beautiful Rose," he said passionately. She sniffed and swiped a tear away.
"Fandral...before you came here, my life was very empty. I lived under my Uncle's stifling rule and though I have never been anywhere, I escaped to hundreds of worlds through my books. But I never imagined I would find myself in the greatest love story of all time," she said.
"I read many and envied them all, but I feared I would never find it. But you changed it all when you fell into my garden and awakened love in my heart. My life began that day and I love you more than I ever imagined possible," she continued.
"You're my handsome warrior, my hero, and now you'll be my beloved husband, for eternity, my warrior," she said passionately.
"There is no doubt...what we have witnessed here today is definitely true love, the likes perhaps which this Kingdom has never seen. And what we bring together today, let no one tear asunder," Zorro said.
"Do you Fandral, take thee Rose Red, to be your wife in the bonds of eternal matrimony?" Zorro asked.
"I do," he answered.
"And do you, Princess Rose Red, take Fandral of Asgard to be your husband in the bonds of eternal matrimony?" he asked.
"I do," she said, looking at him with a dreamy stare.
"Then with the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride," Zorro said, as Fandral pulled her close and kissed her passionately. Their friends erupted in cheers and they enjoyed food and drink with them for a while, before they eventually mounted Fandral's horse. There was a private campsite waiting for them nearby for their wedding night.
~*~
Their warring with the King continued until the King's forces began to dwindle and he grew desperate. But the dwarf assured the evil King that his curse would soon be ready and they would rid themselves of both Fandral and Rose Red.
"The curse is ready, my King. Once we ambush them and curse Fandral into a monstrous bear, we will push Rose Red out of this land and she will be forever lost. And without her, she can never break the curse that we place on Fandral," the dwarf said. King John smirked evilly.
"Excellent...then tomorrow, we rid ourselves of them once and for all," John declared.
~*~
The fire roared brightly, illuminating the forest clearing, but not even it burned as brightly as the passion between Rose and Fandral.
"My Rose...my sweet Rose…" he whispered to her, as he made love to her in their tent. Rose writhed beneath his hard body and cried out in pleasure.
"Fandral...my love…" she cried out, as he took her to the stars. Later, Rose rested her head atop his chest, as their skin cooled and he held her close.
"I don't know what I would do if I lost you," she mentioned.
"You're not going to lose me, my angel. Our love is unbreakable," he promised, as he kissed her softly. They slept peacefully and deeply in each other's arms that night and spent the morning making love in the nearby lake. Unfortunately, just as they were finishing breakfast back at their camp, Zorro arrived with unsettling news.
"Your Uncle has his army and the dwarf destroying a village in the northern region," he said.
"We have to stop them," Rose said, as she shouldered her quiver and grabbed her bow. Fandral sheathed his sword and took her hand, as they hurried to their horse and followed Zorro to the village.
~*~
When they arrived, half the village was on fire and people were fleeing into the mountains.
"Oh Gods…" Rose cried, as they dismounted their horse and looked around at the carnage.
"We will make them pay for this, my angel," Fandral promised, as he put his arm around her. But they heard a familiar, evil cackle.
"Oh will you?" the dwarf asked, as he emerged from the flames. Fandral extracted his sword from his sheet and leveled it at the miscreant.
"You will not take another step toward her, dwarf," he warned.
"Oh, I think you'll be too busy to worry about her, Asgardian brute," the dwarf retorted, as he used his magic to summon a fearsome dragon, which dove down on them. Fandral guarded Rose and the fleeing people from the village began screaming, as their terror began anew.
"Fandral...those people, we have to help," she said. He nodded.
"Stay here, my love...I'll deal with the dragon," he promised, as he kissed her passionately, before hurrying off to deal with the monster. The dwarf cackled, as he hurried off, while Rose began helping the other survivors, just her Uncle's carriage arrived. She stood strong, as he emerged from it with Sir Hiss and she glared at him.
"You will pay for terrorizing my people," she promised. But he only smirked in amusement.
"Oh will I? No…I'm afraid you are the one that is to pay, my dear. You and your warrior," John said. A chill slithered down her spine, as she saw that the dwarf was gone and her husband fighting the dragon in the distance. And she realized it was only a distraction.
"Fandral!" she cried, as she began running toward him. He turned and saw her, just as the dwarf appeared.
"Rose?" he said in confusion, as he turned back to the dragon, but was astonished to see it disappear and morph into a cloud of smoke.
"You're about to regret the day you crossed me and the mighty King John, Fandral of Asgard!" the dwarf cackled, as the dragon became the curse and swept over him.
"No!" Rose cried, as she watched the magic engulf her beloved and when the smoke cleared, in his place was a fearsome bear. It roared and thrashed toward the dwarf, but he used his magic to throw him into a tree, decimating it. Rose ran toward the bear and it roared at her momentarily, until she looked him in the eyes. They were still Fandral's eyes and she cautiously approached him.
"It's me, my love...and I know from all the stories I have read that true love's kiss can break any curse," she said, as she prepared to kiss the creature. But John grabbed her arm and pulled her away.
"Kill this monster, men! Before he destroys our Kingdom!" John ordered.
"No…I won't let you do this! I will break my husband's curse!" Rose protested, as she struggled against his grip.
"Oh, but you won't be around to do any of that, my dear," John said, as the dwarf used the key and opened the portal.
"Rose Red...I banish you from this Land! This is now and forever more, my Kingdom!" he hissed and she screamed, as he pushed her through the portal. The bear let out a terrible roar of anguish and was forced to flee, as the army of soldiers began hunting him.
Zorro stood with the other survivors, appalled at what had just happened.
"He has won...the King has won," one survivor lamented.
"Without Rose Red and Fandral...we have lost," another agreed.
"No...not yet," Zorro vowed.
"How do you figure that? Rose Red has been banished and without her, Fandral's curse cannot be broken and they will kill him!" another argued.
"I know Rose Red and she will not rest until she finds a way back to her beloved. So we keep fighting and we keep Fandral alive until she returns," he said. It gave some of them a sliver of hope, but the mood was very dismal on that day. Without Rose Red and Fandral, King John would continue his evil and stifling rule. True love and reuniting them was their only hope...

Transformation
Requested by: Anonymous (Here are the specifics)
Pairing: Reader x Bucky Word Count: 1.8K Warnings: Angst, Bucky being an arsehole
A/N: No happily ever after ending, because people who act how Bucky did (in this) are trash.
Tumblr media
Finally submitting the last piece of paperwork for the week, you lean back in your office chair and let out a relieved sigh. Since starting at the Avenger’s Tower a month ago, you had been swamped with work. You’d been posted in the Tower by Ross, to make sure that the Avenger’s were crossing their T’s and dotting their I’s, especially now that Team Cap was allowed back; under special conditions.
You haven’t been at the Tower very long, but you were already starting to feel like part of the family. Even though you worked for Secretary Ross, and the Accords, the Avenger’s had never held that against you. They made you feel welcome and you were starting to feel comfortable about the heroes.
A loud bang brings you back to reality, and your chair snaps straight up, jolting you from your reclined position. Glancing towards the origin of the sound, you see a thick, new stack of files; with Bucky Barnes standing on the other side of your desk, his arms crossed and a scowl on his face.
“I need these done,” he grunts at you, “Like now,”
“Really?” you groan, “I just finished. I wanted to get ready with Natasha for tonight’s party,”
Bucky scoffs, making your heart sink, “Yeah, right,” he turns on his heel and marches out of your office, an air of arrogance flowing from him.
Bucky was the only one that hadn’t accepted you into the Avenger’s family. The moment you stepped into the Tower, on your first day, he refused to talk to you or mingle with you. The only time he bothered to speak to you was when you had to finalise his paperwork. But that didn’t stop you from developing a crush on the super soldier. You had no idea why he treated you like dirt, but you knew that wasn’t who he was. You’d often sit in the gym, shrouded in the corner and watch the team train, or run communications from the Tower during missions; and you started to see a different side to him - a compassionate, caring side that would do anything for his friends, even if it meant putting himself in the firing line. But he didn’t know you saw that side to him, or that you liked him, and you knew that he’d never feel the same.
Pushing the files aside, you decide to leave them until tomorrow; even though you didn’t like to work on weekends, you wanted to get ready with Nat for tonight. Collecting your things, you sling your handbag over your shoulder and turn off your computer. Typing out a quick text to Nat, you make your way out of your office. But you stop dead in your tracks, just inside your office doorway, when you hear Bucky’s voice - gruff and dripping in annoyance.
“Why is she even invited tonight?” you hear him scoff to someone, “She is going to stick out like a sore thumb,”
“She’s part of the team,” you recognise Steve’s voice, “Why wouldn’t she be invited?”
“Because she dresses like an old lady... Or a toddler,” Bucky dryly chuckles, “Or both at the same time... Somehow,”
“Bucky, don’t be mean,” Steve warns, his voice giving away his uncomfortable feeling at Bucky’s cruelty. You stomach sinks as Bucky’s words hit you; you knew he was mean, but this was malicious,
“Why does she even bother?” Bucky continues as tears start to well in your eyes.
You glance down at your outfit and realise that maybe he isn’t wrong. You’d never cared about what you looked like; it was never important, you’d always cared about your brains more than your beauty. But hearing Bucky’s words hurt, more than you thought they would’ve.
“That’s enough, Buck,” Steve replies, this time more stern. You wait until you hear both of them walk off into the Tower before you emerge from your office, tears welled in your eyes and threatening to spill.
“Hey, I was just-” Natasha’s voice sounds from down the hall, but she stops when she sees your expression, “What happened?” she worries, rushing over to you and looking you over,
“I need a makeover,” you say, ignoring her question, “For tonight. I need your help,”
Natasha’s eyes search your determined expression before she slowly nods, a small smile pulling at the corners of her mouth, “I have just the dress,”
You can’t stop staring into the mirror, convinced that at any second the reflection would move. But it doesn’t, it was really you. Natasha appears over your shoulder, a satisfied smile on her face.
“You look incredible,” she breathes out, taking in your appearance in the mirror,
“You’re a miracle worker,” you chuckle, still in awe of the way the reflections moves as you do.
Nat shakes her head, “This is all you, Y/N,”
You grin at her before your reflection draws your attention again. After a few hours, and almost poking your eye out trying to put in contacts, Natasha had completely transformed you. Her metallic dress clung to your body in all the right places, and your hair was swept up into an up-do. You couldn’t have imagined looking better for Tony’s party tonight.
“Alright,” Nat says, pulling you out of your head, “We’re late, but we’re fashionable,”
You laugh at her as she slings her arm through yours and leads you out of her room and towards the party hall. Your stomach was flipping and twisting with every step that brought you closer to the party. You were nervous, but you were excited at the same time; ready to show everyone that you could be beautiful and smart.
It felt like the entire, packed hall stopped and stared as you and Nat entered. A part of you wanted to shrink away and disappear from sight, but Natasha gives your arm a reassuring squeeze and you glance at her with worry.
“Don’t worry,” she coos in your ear, “Let them stare, we look great,”
Her confidence gave you the courage to keep walking, and soon you join the rest of the team. Tony, Steve, Sam and Clint all grin at Nat, and their mouths fall open when they look at you.
“Holy shit,” Steve says, sounding completely bewildered,
“Language, Cap,” Tony snickers, making Steve frown, “But holy shit is right,”
“You look smoking!” Sam says before letting out a low whistle that made you giggle and your cheeks blush, “Just wait til Bucky sees you,”
You clench your jaw at the mention of your crush. You were still hurt that he said those mean things about you, but now you were determined to prove him wrong. You excuse yourself from your friends and wander through the crowd - mostly people you’d never seen before.
A strong hand wraps around your elbow, pulling you to a stop. You spin around and come face to face with Bucky. His eyes rake up and down your figure, a look of lust in his eyes. You can’t stop yourself from smiling as he stares, feeling satisfied that he was checking you out.
“Well, hello,” you say, the amusement thick in your tone,
“What’s your name, doll?” he asks as his eyes finally meet yours. You frown at him, wondering if this was a joke. But as he stares at you expectantly, it dawns on you that he didn’t recognise you at all.
You stay silent, unsure how long you were going to let Bucky think that he didn’t see you every day. His metal arm wraps around your waist and pulls you closer to his body, making your cheeks flush.
“C’mon,” he coos, his voice low and gruff with lust, “It’s got to be a pretty name, with a face and body like that,”
You can’t stop yourself from snorting with laughter, and you try to find it with a cough, but Bucky noticed, his eyes narrowing with confusion. With a frown, his eyes search your face, looking as though he was trying to put it all together.
“Wait, do I know you?” he asks with a tilt of his head. You hum nonchalantly and wonder how long it’ll take him to realise, “Will you dance with me?” he asks, dropping his curiosity.
“No, thank you,” you say. You’d always wanted to dance with Bucky, after hearing how good he used to be, but he didn’t even know it was you. To him, he wasn’t dancing with you - the girl he’d insulted just hours ago - but he would be dancing with a beautiful woman he wanted to sleep with. Bucky looks taken aback at your refusal, “First time you’ve been denied?” you ask, your eyebrow cocking with amusement.
Bucky’s mouth opens and closes a few times as he tries to think of a witty reply. Eventually, he just closes his mouth and nods slightly, his eyes leaving yours with embarrassment and staring at the floor; and you have to hold back the cynical laughter.
“Well, if you’ll excuse me,” you say, bringing his attention back to you, “I have to get back to my office... Some arsehole gave me his paperwork to do,” you stare at Bucky, waiting for him to catch on. His brows furrow and you can practically see the cogs turning in his head, “Guess I did end up sticking out like a sore thumb... Just not how you’d expected,”
Bucky looks as though he’s been slapped in the face and his jaw drops open, “Y/N?” he all but whispers.
You smirk at him, a look of annoyance and sarcasm clearly on your face as your cross your arms over your chest, “Scrub up pretty good for a girl that dresses like a toddler and an old lady, huh?”
Bucky looks you up and down again, his eyes wide and disbelieving. He nods ever so slightly, still looking as though he couldn’t believe it was you.
“Goodbye, Bucky,” you say before spinning on your heel,
“Wait!” Bucky shouts, grabbing your elbow again and spinning you back around. You cock your head as you wait for him to speak, “I-I’m so sorry about what I said... You’re beautiful,” he breathes out.
It was words you’d wanted to hear for weeks, but now that he was saying it because you’d undergone a transformation, the words had little substance. If anything, the words made you angry. Bucky didn’t think you were beautiful before you changed your appearance; and you never wanted to change who you were for a man.
“Thank you, for your apology,” you say as you straighten up. Without another word, you spin on your heel and walk away.
As you wander through the crowd, your eyes searching for Natasha, you feel your crush for Bucky melt away. He hadn’t given you a second thought until you put on a tight dress and makeup; he wasn’t worth it. You knew you needed someone who loved you the way that you were every day of the week, not just at parties.
