i'm. i can't do proper metas until i actually have the time to do them. but i will eventually dig further into charlie and bonnie's relationship and mac and his mom's. its stewing.

#ada speaks #i need more than a couple hour set aside for it and i want to do some research so that i can properly examine what's going on #i'm very familiar with den's brand of parental trauma because i lived it but charlie and mac's arent entirely my wheelhouse #but fuck if i don't know exactly how that shit feels #mac's mom being like. authoritarian and completely uninterested in giving mac love or affection #expecting him to shut up as soon as she quietly raises her finger and then burning him when he doesn't obey #mac's been scared and threatened into being well behaved #charlie on the other hand had no supervision and was left to grow up alone #while also coming to terms with the fact that despite what bonnie says. her love for him is obsessive and smothering and extremely unhealth #charlie is aware of this and takes steps to separate from her but he still feels that responsibility #while mac tries his fucking hardest to get his mom to love him back #charlie wishes his mom loved him less #she's definitely got several mental illnesses and i don't think its her fault but she did NOT raise charlie adequately (or really at all)#but this is why charlie was so angry at his dad for not being there for him. both parents neglected him.#all he got was a pen pal when what he needed was a father to be there for him when his mother wasn't

i had a dream about polin but it half made sense so i'm posting this

so colin goes to cyprus or wherever he goes off season like before the new season starts. pen refuses to write to him and after a few un answered letters he just starts writing letters to her about the trip and not sending them. he writes them bc he doesn't feel like he can talk about it with anyone else other than pen. by the time the new season is starting he makes his way back to mayfair, he has this huge wad of letters that he wrote for pen, like theyre enveloped and wax sealed and everything. and he doesn't show them to anyone. behind his back, someone in his family like violet or anthony knows about this wad of letters all addressed and wrapped with a pretty little bow, and they don't mention it to him, they just keep it in mind.

the season drolls on and he's giving her lessons to get suitors, falling in love with her, etc. and something happens, 1) colin not understanding how to know when you're in love, and whoever knows about the letters walks over to his desk and drops it on his lap and is like "there's your proof." OR 2) pen is not convinced that he loves her or something and he gives it to her as proof. (or both of these)

listen its just my own speculation because i had a dream and now i can't stop thinking about it but i thought i'd send my thoughts out to the world.

What’s the lie your character tells most often?

I think a lot of Gloria’s lies in her day to day life are around the lines of “I’ll pay you back” or something like that LOL, she’s very irresponsible with money and not above straight up lying meaning her reputation is kinda terrible. She tends to ditch people and avoid responsibility in general. If you make plans with her there’s a solid 50% chance she just won’t show up and you’ll never hear from her again. The other 50% is she shows up and you still never hear from her again

2. How loosely or strictly do they use the word “friend”?

The people in Rocio’s life are usually only interested in them professionally/politically, and the few that actually view her as a person (prior to the story theres like quite literally 2 of them) tend to be very close, so there’s not a lot of conflict over whether they’re close enough to be called their friend yk. She definitely considers them as such— even though it makes her uncomfortable to be close to people she does appreciate everything they’ve done for her. Like, they would have straight up died if not for Yiming. They put a lot of faith in the people they’re close to, maybe even too much, + though being dependent on others frustrates them they don’t tend to resent people because of that. In terms of actually using the word though. I think she’d hate implying things about her relationship with others because she doesn’t think it’s anyone’s business at all. So she’s more likely to avoid it and talk about them however is directly relevant to the situation. Like instead of “you can trust him, he’s a friend” it would be “you can trust him, he’s harmless” or whatever. Sometimes coming across as insulting because of that lol

#rocio and cirillos backstory together is actually kind of cute #like they were distant pen pals for a while not very close #but it’s like one of the first people ever to be nice to rocio since her parents. yk #and the only one who doesn’t care abt her job or whatever #not that she doesn’t want people to think of her as powerful or whatever #or as metahuman in some way #bc those are legit aspects of them as a person that do require consideration #but for variety it’s nice to have someone who seemingly views her as an equal #rather than looking up to her or fearing her or trying to use her for political gain #the two of them are NOT peers lol but it’s nice to feel as though they are #+ cirillo is probably aware of that #and it would have occurred to him relatively early on how isolated she must be #also I made gloria sound like a terrible person in her response #she has redeeming qualities umm #she gives food to stray cats some times #my ocs #rocio satapathy #gloria song #ty for asking :)
