so i got a notification today about an article where the nhl is commited to diversity and holding itself accountable.

that's bullshit. but most people know that. and at the end of the article, it says "We as a league are hyper-focused on what the future and growth of our game looks like while also sustaining and maintaining our current fan base."

and that, to me, is so absurdly funny. because hockey isn't growing. it's losing. it's losing to soccer. it's losing to football. it's losing to baseball. it's losing to basketball. i grew up in the united states. i couldn't name you one hockey player. i could name you serena williams, lebron james, kobe bryant, barry bonds, lionel messi, Aaron judge, etc etc. but not one hockey player. and my team has won the cup twice in my lifetime, less than 30 miles away from me.

hockey is losing. it's a niche sport, especially where I'm from. and this line, it encapsulates why it's losing. "while sustaining and maintaining our current fanbase." this operates off an assumption that growth and diversity act in odds with the current hockey fanbase. i have a bonsai. it's a ginseng ficus. in order for it to grow properly, you have to cut parts of it off. this is exactly what the NHL refuses to do.

i am a new hockey fan. i am several of the "diversity" targets the NHL loves to proclaim it supports, im queer and im a poc. I'm also from a "non-traditional hockey market." and i can tell you, this sport actively makes me feel unwelcome. the attitudes of the players often actively makes me feel unwelcome. the commentary from reporters, from fans, from announcers, makes me feel unwelcome sometimes. and no pride night is gonna change that. it's nice, yes, but it doesn't change it.

and what I'm saying is: you cannot grow when parts of you are rotting. if someone can't handle seeing ethan bear play fucking hockey, then they don't have to watch. if someone can't handle the possibility of luke prokop playing a game, then they don't have to watch. if someone can't handle the thought of a female GM, then they don't have to watch. hockey doesn't want to grow, because that means being better.

you cannot simultaneously promise to grow while trying desperately to hold onto racist, sexist and homophobic fans. and the thing the NHL has either failed to realize, or is scared to realize, is that the future has come and gone. they're getting passed, lapped, even, by leagues that have done more. by sports that are capable of change. change means that some people, yes, will stop watching. but the world isn't just made up of sexist, racist homophobic people.

i go to quite a few AHL games. once, i was seated in front of an African American couple. they had season tickets. one of them, is the first in his family to enjoy hockey. and his wife was wearing so much merch her earrings and hairtie were matching. they are fans. they're fans that deserve more than one night and a special jersey. I've been to a pride night. i got a hat. it was a fun game. and alongside me, there were pride flags and hats and jerseys. there were kids from high schools who were openly queer. there were older queer couples. that's your broader audience. and if you make them feel welcome for more than one fucking night a season, they might come to more games. they might bring their friends, like i have. they might raise kids that watch hockey.

it's funny, that the NHL is so scared of losing shitty fans that they're willing to be the biggest losers of the four major sports.

Is his life's goal to arrest Valjean. I say enemies to lovers trope. Starts off as a bitch, tbh.

i’m gonna start this off with saying that kou minamoto is literally my favorite character ever so don’t think i’m doing this because i hate him i just think about him way too much and this is where i end up after thinking for too long

i have SO MUCH to say about this but i’m gonna throw it under the cut bc i don’t wanna catch ppl off guard with my insane bullshit

alright SO

first off kou definitely should’ve died during the pp arc just for shits and giggles. it would’ve been like a “what the fuck just happened” for every character and the whole fandom and the chaos that would’ve ensued from the death of a major character would’ve been absolutely WILD- like bitch just killed himself. he straight up committed suicide. there’s no way of rephrasing that bc that’s what he did. it would’ve been a plot-shattering moment and really just heartbreaking and awful and aidairo could’ve done so much with it.

for one, mitsuba would’ve been very Not Ok because he would’ve blamed himself for kou dying and he’d definitely try to gaslight himself into believing kou was still alive- that would not work btw he’d just be in insane denial

anyway imma move on from that arc even though i could go into it so much deeper and focus on things that i could see happening just to make the story hella interesting (i’ve been very tempted to write a fic about this so beware)

i think the most likely ways kou would die would either be suicide or being killed by tsukasa. we’ve already seen him attempt to kill himself, thwarted by mitsuba then brushed aside for some reason, and i’m about to do a full ass analysis on why tsukasa should murder our boy :3

reiterating that I LOVE KOU MINAMOTO WITH MY WHOLE HEART HES PERFECT

okay so tsukasa. hes a silly guy. one of his main traits is he loves to fuck with people, right? right yeah whatever get to the point IM WORKING ON IT ok sorry anyway he’s silly right. he thrives off fucking people up as much as possible. since he knows fucking everything i’m gonna assume he knows how important kou is to mitsuba and, given the fact that it’s so easy to fuck with mitsuba, he’d know that messing with kou in some way would make the biggest impact. every way he messes up mitsuba’s (after)life doesn’t emotionally impact him for too long, given the fact that he and kou with it out every time. but what happens when we take out the support system? that’s what we wanna know.

so ofc tsukasa feels all silly goofy and takes out kou just for funzies. mitsuba is absolutely fucking destroyed in every way. he blames himself, duh. this splits off into 2 possible scenarios that i’ve created lol.

possibility one: mitsuba stays in his boundary for god knows how long, refusing to talk to anyone. eventually he goes to shijima, begging for a replacement kou. even if hes fake, it’s better than nothing, right? shijima understood his grief, in a way. so, she gave in. boom. kou copy. the rest was none of her business.

kou copy only knows what shijima knows about him, so let’s go with everything up until the end of the picture perfect arc. he has no idea about anything after, including the aquarium date, the far shore incident, and the supernaturals being banished from the near shore in the first place, and it’s fine that way. …right? well, that means he also doesn’t know that he’s supposed to be dead.

he keeps asking mitsuba when he can leave the boundary and go home, when he can go see senpai, when he can see his brother, and he’s very upset. mitsuba has no idea what to do. he was overjoyed to have his crush best friend back that he didn’t even think of what would happen after… he couldn’t let kou out of the boundary. that was out of the question. keeping kou here would make him miserable and make him hate mitsuba. so at this point they’re stuck in a cycle of shouting matches of wether or not kou is allowed to leave, periods of silence, and occasional truces because they both need someone to keep them sane, and who else can do it but each other?

possibly 2: supernaturals are a thing in this world, so why can’t kou be one too? even though tsukasa is the one who killed kou in the first place, mitsuba begs him to bring kou back, to make kou a supernatural just like mitsuba. mitsuba knows what being a supernatural feels like. he knows that just letting kou go would be so much better for the dumb blonde boy. he knows that kou deserves better than to be forced to live in a world that doesn’t want him anymore. but mitsuba is selfish. so tsukasa makes kou into a supernatural. for funzies, you know? he’d never worked with a human corpse before, so why not try out making one into a supernatural?

the process of making a supernatural is… messy. mitsuba now knows this, as he couldn’t look away from his boyfriend being made into one. it was horrific. i’m not gonna delve into it because i really don’t wanna think about that i’m so sorry my poor baby

just like with mitsuba, tsukasa didn’t have kou’s actual soul to work with, just supernatural parts and kou’s body. it was simply an animated puppet that looked like kou minamoto. “it’s fine,” mitsuba said, “it’s okay, he’s back, that what matters, right?” “it’ll be fine, right minamoto?” and as he looks to kou for support, all he gets in response is a blank look. he realizes, after staring in horror at the jagged scar on kou’s neck, that his vocal chords are absolutely fucked up beyond repair. he’d never hear kou’s voice again.

A/n: I'm just sitting on my couch and I decided to write this. I don't have any ideas but I'm just going for it 🤣

Y/n loved Oswald for as long as she could remember, back when they worked for Falcone she did her best to protect him from Mooney. She stood up for him, only to get her ass handed to her, but it was worth it. Y/n always took Oswalds side, she helped him when Jim faked his death. She was the first to find out infact, something just didn't sit right. It all didn't add up, so she went to Gordon and shot some bullshit threats his way until he spilled everything. She found him in a tow behind RV, Y/n again helped him rise back up. But the happiness she felt then completely diminished when Oswald started working for Maroni, and of course she had his back but he was getting higher and higher in power and she was just tagging along.

Y/n was there to save him from the car he was nearly crushed in, she was there to hide him from Maroni. She was there to support him when he found his father, Y/n was there to comfort him when his father magically died. She killed and roasted up Charles and Sasha, Y/n helped him with his election for mayor. She was there to protect him from the red hood gang.

And when Nygma shot him on that pier that day she hunted his ass down and nearly killed him. Y/n then got a hot tip that Ozzy was once again alive, so as she always did she went looking for her little penguin. She found him with a woman named Ivy, and she saved his ass from Gabe, and she saved his ass from Nygma again! And she threw in a good threat to Mooney that if she ever hurt him again she'd be sorry.

Over and over again she protected what she loved, Y/n took his side and supported him in everything. She went out with Zsasz and made sure criminals had licenses, she went with Ozzy to meetings to make sure he always got his way. Y/n can't even remember how many times in the last month she got arrested for him. And now here she was in his office having to listen to Sofia Falcone invite Ozzy to dinner.

"Oswald do you think it's a good idea? She could try and kill you." Y/n whispered in his ear.

"Your concern is touching but I think I got it covered."

Y/n nodded and gave him a half smile, flashing a glare towards Sofia as she led her to the door.

"You don't like me very much do you?" She asked when they made it into the hall.

"No."

"Not very talkative I see. But very protective over Mr. Cobblepot."

"The only people who have ever done anything for him has been me and his mother. I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Penn and Zsasz were plotting his demise this instant. I don't trust you Ms. Falcone, I'm not here to be your friend, nor to hold your hand. I'm here for one reason and one reason only, to protect Oswald Cobblepot till my dying breath."

Sofia nodded. "Did he hire you to do that?"

"Do what?"

"As protection?" She asked.

"No."

"Then why?" Sofia began circling y/n.

"Why does it matter?"

Y/n sat at the bar facing Oswald and Sofia, they sat at a table in the middle of the restaurant. They were talking business and pleasure all at the same time, it made Y/n sick. The bar tender past her a negroni, she snatched it off the bar and took a sip as she stared daggers into Sofia.

Oswald had already sent away one of the plates of food, then the waiter brought out goulash. It looked just like his mother's recipe, Y/n saw Oswald stiffen up the minute it was set down on the table.

After giving a snide comment he finally tried it, Y/n got off her stool and straightened her jacket. She knew from the way he was acting it tasted just like his mother's, which ment he was gonna leave right about-

"I'm leaving." He said, Oswald got up and headed for the door. Y/n and the body guard fallowed close behind. The bell rang as the door opened, before it could shut, however, y/n gave Sofia one last vicious grin.

Oswald was pacing back and forth in front of his bar, Y/n was cleaning her knife at one of the tables.

"You alright?" She asked. "She spike your dinner?"

"No, it's just....it tasted like-"

"Like your mother's." Y/n finished. She then stood up and tucked her knife away, Oswald watched as she got close to him. She pulled his tie pin out of her pocket and clipped it to his tie.

"I've been looking for that one, where did you find it?" He asked.

"I found it in your office."

Oswald looked at Y/n, she obviously had something on her mind. He took her and in his, he was about to speak when Sofia came plowing into the lounge. Ozzy saw the hate in Y/n's eyes when she heard Sofia's heals clicking on the tile floor.

"Oswald." She said.

"I'll leave you two alone."

Oswald gripped Y/n's hand, not wanting her to leave. But she pulled away, he could see she was upset. Y/n left the room, but stood outside the door. She could hear Oswald yelling and Sofia giving dumbass excuses. Then she heard what she thought she'd never hear.

"The only person who has ever done anything nice for me, without wanting something in return was my mother."

That hit Y/n like a bus, she thought he had realized what she's done for him. And why she's done it, but he was blinded by power. Just like everyone in this city.

Y/n was on her way back to her room when she ran into Sofia, the bitch smirked and twittled her fingers at her. Just as Sofia was about to pass by, Y/n grabbed her by the wrist and slammed her into the wall. Y/n held her knife to her neck and got really close.

"I don't know what you're plotting, but it ain't working sis." She growled. "You dare hurt him in anyway, shape, or form and I will come after you and you bet your ass I will get you. There will be no one to protect you, he is mine. I will kill you if you even look at him the wrong way. Do you understand!?"

Sofia giggled. "You don't scare me, Y/n. Few people do, all you are is a love struck little girl who thinks she can frighten those above her. Well you can't."

Y/n smiled and slowly dragged the knife over her neck, drawing blood and making Sofia cry out.

"You think I'm fucking around? You're nothing but a daddies girl, but daddy didn't give you enough attention so you gotta prove yourself. But I won't let that happen, Oswald will win at this little game you're playing. I will see to that."

Y/n then let go of Sofia and trudged up the hall, and back to her room.

Weeks had passed and out of nowhere Jim Gordon was appointed captain of the GCPD. So as any good friend would, Y/n went to go see Harvey Bullock down at his bar.

"Hey, Buddy. What's going on?" She asked. "And I want details."

"Is that why you came here? For details, not to comfort me?"

Y/n smiled. "Well, I can always multitask."

She reached over the bar and patted his shoulder, he smiled and gripped her arm.

"Now, spill it." She whispered, making his face drop.

"He's been talking to this woman, Sofia Fa-"

"Sofia Fal-fuckin-cone! Thank you, Bullock!" She yelled as she ran out of the bar.

"Glad I could help."

"She's what!?" Y/n yelled.

"She's invited us to a dinner for the orphanage."

"Oswald, can't you see she's playing with you!? Jim Gordon, right? He just miraculously becomes captain? Bullshit! Someone had to have paid off the mayor to make him captain! And poof the mayor is just gone?"

"You think it was Sofia."

Y/n pointed at Oswald. "I talked to Harvey, he said he's seen them talking."

"Let's not just start blaming her, we need evidence. I'll have Victor fallow her, but in the meantime I'll say we aren't going to the dinner." He said.

"Alright, that sounds like a good idea."

Oswald and Y/n showed up at Sofia's place, she was fumbling with a huge bouquet of flowers. Y/n fallowed Oswald over to her where they stopped in the entrance of the livingroom.

"Beautiful." Ozzy said, making Sofia smile.

Y/n rolled her eyes and started looking at the wall as if it were something spectacular. Oswald started hinting at Jim's new position and who could've put him there. Y/n watched Sofia's reactions and she knew for a fact that she did it.

"So long story short, we ain't coming to your little feast." Y/n said.

"Oh, well....I was looking forward to you two being there."

"Yeah, well....we ain't gonna be."

Some more jabbering between Sofia and Oswald and she finally walked out of the room. Mr. Penn and Oswald started conspiring on how they were gonna get her to confess.

"Give me two minutes alone in a room with her and I'll have her singing the pledge of allegiance in reverse." Y/n whispered, while holding up a knife.

"That can be our last resort." Oswald reassured her, patting her shoulder.

"But-"

"Y/n, I'll handle it."

A couple days later the plans changed, turns out they were going to the dinner, but Ozzy had a trick or two up his sleeve. He had a plan to get Martine to spy on her.

"That's a great plan....but do we gotta go?" Y/n asked.

"We're going." Is all he said as they left out the door. They arrived in record time, because Y/n was driving like Cruella Deville to get to the fuckin place. They entered and the living room was packed with people. Y/n felt self conscious because she was wearing leather pants and a white button up dress shirt with her under-arm holsters showing.

"I'll be right back." Y/n said to Oswald.

"Where are you going?"

She didn't answer, she just left. Y/n went back to the car, she popped the trunk and grabbed out her bag. She unzipped it and pulled out a black shiny pencil dress that hugged her curves.

Y/n hopped into the back of the car and began changing into the dress.

Oswald began looking around for Y/n but he hadn't seen where she had gone. That was odd, she normally stayed by his side, what was going on?

Just then he turned around to walk back into the livingroom when he knocked into a woman, he was about to tell her to watch where she was going when she turned to face him. It was Y/n, she looked amazing.

"Don't Tell me you left to change." He said.

"That's what I did alright. Everyone else looks so good and I felt like I was under dressed. I mean with you in your suit....I wanted my outfit to go with yours so I threw on this black dress."

"How are you gonna protect me in a dress?"

"Ozzy, if I can bust a move like Michael Jackson in this, then I can sure as hell can beat someone's ass on your behalf."

Sofia walked into the room with a wine glass in hand, she smiled when she saw Y/n, it was an obvious fake smile.

"We were wondering where you went. I love the dress." She said.

"Uh huh." Y/n replied.

Sofia smiled again then looked to Ozzy. She walked closer to him and took his hand.

"Oswald, I've been thinking. Whoever had Gordon appointed captain did actually save you. The license were a good idea at the time, but they would be your downfall."

"Cut the shit, Falcone." Y/n said.

Oswald pulled his hand away. "Y/n is right. If you're going to confess, then confess. And face the consequences."

Suddenly there was a voice behind them, it was bone chilling.

"So sorry to interrupt. The waiters are getting everyone seated, we don't want the food to get cold." He said, the man was wearing a pig head for a mask. He then held up a cleaver. "Chop chop."

All the rich guests were sat at the table, Y/n was on the end that the Pyg was standing at. Sofia was across from her, and Oswald to Sofia's right.

Y/n was looking down at the pie in front of her. She was ready to put a smack down and kill this fucker. There was no way she was eating a pie made of people.

"This is just disgusting." She said.

The Pyg gave her an offended look, he laid his hand flat on his chest.

"Well, Miss Y/L/N. That is rude, we worked very hard on this meal."

"I don't care if you broke your back in the process! This is the most revolting, despicable shit I've ever seen! And you can't pay me to eat this swill!"

The Pyg snort laughed, and held the cleaver back up to Martine's neck. Y/n looked over at Oswald for what to do, and in return he nodded. Y/n knew what that meant, she would have to choke down this pie. Oh fuckin yummy.

Y/n scooped some up with her fork and was about to put it in her mouth when-

"GCPD!" Jim Gordon's voice came around the corner.

Everyone stood up and scattered like mice, Y/n grabbed one of the waiters and smacked his head off the table, then raided him for her weapons. She backed up out of the room, her body blocking Oswald as she pointed her guns at the remaining kitchen staff.

"Are you okay?" Ozzy asked, he pulled Y/n close as he examined her.

"Oz, I'm fine. Are you okay?"

He nodded and pulled Martine and her into a closet. y/n turned the lights off and all she could hear were Jim Gordon and The Pyg very violently hashing out an agreement in the next room. Knives and plates could be heard bouncing off the wall and falling to the floor.

"Oswald." Y/n whispered.

She felt him gently grip her hand and rub her wrist with his thumb.

"It's alright. Im right here."

___

When the fight was over Oswald confronted Sofia in the living room, Y/n wasn't happy with the outcome.

Oswald once again had forgiven her for her bullshit. Y/n got in the car with Ozzy as they waited for Martine to come back with news on whether or not she was a traitor. They both sat in the back of the car, Y/n placed her hand on his thigh.

"If it comes up that she's been using you and lying to you, then I want you to know I have your back through all this. And I always have, all you need to do is ask. No matter what it is, you need me to kill someone? I'll do it. You need me to commit tax fraud? Shit I'll do it 100 times over."

The last one made Oswald chuckle.

"I know. I don't show it a lot but, I know. You've done so much for me, and I'm truly grateful. You've been there for me since day one." He said. "We've broke this city and rebuilt it together. We've wreaked havoc on this city. We've become the King and Queen of Gotham. And you know Y/n for these past few years I've been wanting to tell you something.....I've felt like this for a long time and I didn't know how to tell you but-"

He was cut off by the door opening and Martine entering the car.

"Well? Did you find anything out?" Y/n asked.

The little boy held up his board that read.

"I saw Sofia kissing the policeman."

Y/n felt like she just won the NFL, she felt like she could jump off a building and still live. But she could tell Oswald didn't feel the same. Once again someone he felt for betrayed him, and Y/n's celebration was cut short by him looking like he lost the love of his life.

"You're a good friend, Martine."

Oswald sat on the couch in the lounge, he just sat there staring at his glass of bourbon. Y/n leaned against the wall and shook her head.

"King and Queen, huh?" She asked.

Oswald looked up. "Heh, Yeah."

"Don't shed any tears over her. She doesn't deserve it."

Oswald stood up and began slowly limping over to her.

"No, she doesn't. Everyone I had ever known has always betrayed me. Everyone except you and my mother."

He took her hand in his, Y/n looked up at him and smiled. She gently wiped his tears away.

"I do what I do because I love you, Oswald." She said. "I will be here for you until the day I die."

Ozzy looked down at her lips, then back to her eye. Y/n smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her lips to his. He pulled her to him and deepened the kiss. They slowly pulled away to catch their breath.

Y/n smiled.

"The king and Queen of Gotham."

okay so. drdt ep 8 spoilers under the cut, also please check the tags for tws - a lot of the motives are quite sensitive so please beware!!

last night after the ep, my friend (hi @sentinel-kinjo) and i tried to see if we could connect the motives to the characters. ill explain the reasoning for down below. those that don't have a character next to them means i don't have enough info to be able to pinpoint on who that motive belongs to, even using process of elimination

ace - your body is falling apart but you still refuse to eat

there is a lot of evidence to support this. ace has a low bmi, didn't eat the cake in chapter 1 and has been said to like low-calorie foods in QnAs. ive seen some people throw around arturo due to his body image standards, but he doesn't seem to care much about himself specifically appealing to beauty standards, and was also one of the people who ate the cake in chapter 1.

??? - ever since you kissed her, you were afraid your sexuality would ruin your friendships

im not sure about this one at all- but using process of elimination, and the context, it is definitely one of the girls. the ones i didn't put anywhere are min, hu and eden, so it's probably one of them? i honestly don't really have any basis for pin pointing any of them as this one. maybe we should all collectively comb over ch1 to see who the biggest girl kisser is

j and arei's motives are canon, so i won't go over those

xander - you're constantly blaming yourself for the death of your parents and siblings, it doesn't matter that it's not your fault, just that you didn't go with them

pretty self explanatory, honestly.. we have many examples in the story of xander suffering from survivors guilt. his secret quote also speaks of survivors guilt. i feel like this is the only one that could fit him.

whit - your mother is dead, you always omit that truth

whit speaks highly of his mother, even having dyed his hair because of her. he does omit the truth also when trying to guess what his secret is during ch2, he doesn't speak about his mother being dead at all. his secret quote is also "we tend to idolize the dead" which goes hand in hand with both his motive and the very strong admiration he has for his mom.

veronika - you only took on your talent to distract yourself for the incessant need to harm yourself for fun

i won't speak very much on this one, but she fits. the thing she dislikes the most is boredom. she seeks thrill in horror and dark media. it's possible that her talent has helped her heal from these tendencies.

david - you were quite the hopeless child. dying once wasn't enough, so you attempted suicide three times.

ive seen many different guesses on this one, but david is honestly the only one that i feel works completely. his secret is "i hate you, i hate you, i hate you, i wish you'd just die." i hate you is notably repeated three times. this might seem like a reach but i think its also worth noting that when David mentioned that his secret was a family history about depression, nobody corrected him. i feel like if he had lied, or if his secret was something completely disconnected from said depression, the person who had his motive would've stood up and called out his bullshit. but three suicide attempts and depression are not unrelated. i think he was vague about the details of his depression due to his own discomfort talking about these subjects.

teruko - how could i even select what secret to be your motive? just about everything you've done in your life is worth killing for. the killing game is your fault.

pretty self explanatory. teruko herself says she has too many secrets and doesn't know what they could possibly use against her. don't think anything but this fits

so the remaining ones are levi, arturo, hu, eden, and min. i can't seem to pinpoint these three anywhere due to lack of info... if you guys have any guesses pls let me know :> i love theorizing!!

Being a non-shipper doesnt mean, you cant defend a ship or support it though or that you cant like a ship, it just means its not where your main focus is on! Im supportive of izuocha, because ochako gets so much hate from bkdk shippers, simply because they see her as a treat to their ship and because she exists!

Chapter 11

Summary: It takes almost losing Ellie for reader to learn how to love, but Ellie was okay with that, as long as you stayed with her.

Warnings: Fluff, lovey dovey bullshit, swearing and foul language. A chapter that is easy on the heart before shit goes down. Reader once again, doesn't deserve Ellie. But she loves you anyways.

You clung to Ellie until you were embarrassed and let go. But she seemed to enjoy your display of affection, she hesitated when you unraveled your arms from around her neck. You parted but her hands were still around your waist until they awkwardly pulled away from you entirely.

“So you really were bitten?”

“A long time ago. When I was like 14, It healed and scarred and I covered it up.”

You looked down at Ellies tattooed arm, reaching out and gently grabbing it, tracing the ink. She let you. It was like she wanted every touch from you that she could possibly get. Now, while the two of you sat in a comfortable quiet you really wanted to tell her everything. Tell her about the WLF, about Abby, about the locket you still wore, about how sorry you were that you had chosen someone else who left you over Ellie who had only supported you. You didn't deserve Ellie. You wanted to hide in her arms and apologize over and over. You felt so guilty it was eating you up inside.

“Ellie”

“Hm?”

“I'm sorry” you mumbled, fingers tracing her tattoo, you looked down at it. Eye contact was suddenly difficult. But Ellie wasn't having that, she grabbed your chin and tilted you up to look at her. The concern in her eyes melted your soul entirely

“What are you sorry for?”

“Ellie, I'm not a good person.”

She was holding you with both of her hands now stroking your cheeks, your own arm fell into your lap.

“What do you mean y/n? You're my best friend.”

Oh the tone in her voice, so full of love made you want to cry.

“I've done some horrible things all because I was stuck on someone but I don't wanna be stuck on her anymore… I want to be a better person, and I want to be a good person.”

“Y/n you are a good person.” Ellie was confused, where was this certain outburst coming from?

“Ellie, you make me want to be better.” you whispered, “ I just want you. I just wanna be with you”

“Do you mean that?”

The look you gave her was so genuine she felt like she was crumbling, all her walls of defense being knocked down just for you.

She didn't need words after that, instead she pulled you closer, she hesitated before her gaze fluttered down to your lips. She leaned in and she kissed you. In that moment everything bad and evil fell away. It was just so full of Ellie,her slightly rough hands holding you softly, her scent of clean laundry and gunpowder replacing the overwhelming sensation of pine that you once held close to your heart, the feeling of warmth spreading everywhere she touched. Wrapping your arms around her neck, you have never kissed anyone so desperately, so passionately so full of emotion and vulnerability. As if to communicate through showing affection. Every bit of love and care you had was put into that kiss and when she pulled away you were both breathless.

But when Ellie mistook the dazed look in your eyes with regret and she panicked.

“Im sorry, oh my god, Im-”

“Shhh, shut up.” You told her before kissing her again. This time it was gentle, careful, and sweet. You pulled away, foreheads touching, brushing her hair behind her ear.

You wrinkled your nose in disgust, “Ellie, that was a horrible attempt at flirting.”

She chuckled, kissing your wrinkled nose. “ Well I tried”

“Don't do it again.”

“Okay y/n”

She was so happy, it was written all over her face. You made her happy. You could only hope it would stay that way at least for now you could enjoy a little extra time with her before it all fell apart. Right now you shoved those thoughts away, you were so full of Ellie. She made herself a home inside your heart without even realizing it. You needed her, you wanted her. And she felt the same way about you.

You explored the theater, moving hand in hand. Hers rubbing little movements into your knuckles.Sometimes she would take your entwined fingers and kiss the back of your hand. She was so entirely adoring of you. And that fact made your heart soar.

Ellie, Ellie, Ellie.

She appeared in every corner of your mind, and it took almost thinking you'd lose her to see it. But she took you over like some sort of lovesick disease that could not be stopped. So you took a deep breath and let it happen. You let yourself love her. And you let yourself let go of any and all hesitation. You were grateful to your first love for all her lessons and trials and tribulations but it was time to move on. And maybe if you did, Ellie would still want you at the end of this.

Walking into a large room with a big screen Ellie took you onto the stage. You grabbed her hands and set them on your waist, resting yours on her shoulders. You already knew what she was up to;

“I was gonna say, may I have this dance, but you beat me too it” She grinned

“I knew what you were thinking pulling me up here”

It was a sweet moment, it was nice to leave every worry behind and sway with Ellie to non existent music. It made your mind so empty, only able to look and admire her. You leaned close to her and she held you, breathing you in and letting her own hands wander your back, rubbing your shoulders. She was just so caring, it showed in every touch, every look, every stare. It was impossible not to fall for someone like that.

“Y/n?”

“Yes?”

“Promise me you'll stay with me.”

Without hesitation, you answered.

“I promise.”

“I've lost everyone I have ever loved, but I can't lose you. Stay with me”

“I'm with you as long as you want me.”

“I would never not want you.”

You could only hope that was true.

“Then you don't have to worry about me.”

Ellie let go of all her tension and simply held you. You said you wouldn't go anywhere and she believes you. That was enough for her.

Eventually you pulled a part and went back to focus on the plan. The plan you dreaded so deeply. This entire time you worried about how this would end. You didn't know if you could stomach having the love of your present kill the one of your past. But you would have to hope that Ellie would leave this delusion that avenging Joel would make her happy. It wouldn't. Only healing could save her.

You gathered all your supplies and spread it out. Taking note of what was running low. Ellie was still doting on you, she was mystified. Totally taken with you. She was careful with your things and sat close enough that your knees brushed together, one of her hands rested on her thigh while you spoke.

“Where do we go from here?”

“Honestly I'm not sure, I heard something about Hillcrest…”

Ellie took out her map and pointed,

“This is where the TV station was…” she pointed and crossed out several areas on the map, places you had been.

“They have numerous locations.” her fingered circled Hillcrest, “There are some here I need to take care of.”

“Then we go tomorrow?”

“We go tomorrow”

“I will be ready as long as you are” You'd told her, she smiled

“Thank you y/n.”

“Always”

No matter what, you would always want Ellie, always be there waiting even when she ultimately didn't want you anymore. If only you had known, how soon that would really be.

Oh boy maybe it’s the fever making me brave but here we go! Cumulus!! Everyone characterizes her as super fem, very soft, care-giver type, very maternal. And I think it’s her shape. As someone with the same body type, I’m not that at all. I feel like she’s more the type to enjoy the finer things in life, be waited on hand and foot, step on someone’s balls if she feels like it. And if someone tried to latch on to her like they were nursing???? Annihilated. (I’m sorry I respect everyone elses’s HCs I swear please do not yell at me) I think she expects those around her to act like an adult and I am sure she is of course willing to be supportive, a shoulder to cry on etc like a normal friend. But NOT LIKE YOUR MOMMY. And expecting her to act like that while you’re fucking? No. NO! (Again I respect everyone’s opinions I’m sorry!)

anyway. i think your ask is a perfect example of something i said earlier about trans ghouls, where one person's experience might lend them to liking something more than the other. and i hope the following things im gonna say a) make sense (lmao) but b) show a little bit of a different perspective or idea about this topic.

firstly, yes. it is absolutely true that cumulus has been deemed the 'mom' of the group. and i absolutely know that part of it probably does stem from internalized fatphobia, as well as societal stereotypes about fat women. that in order for them to be likeable they have to fit the traditional idea of femininity, to be maternal, to be 'done-up' and pretty and presentable at all times. that their worth is based on their ability to care for others. and thats fucking bullshit, and something i obviously, as a fat woman, dont condone.

on the other hand, the way i see cumulus, to most people, probably fits that mom friend type. and i can absolutely understand how you and others see that and go 'i look like her and im tired of being represented as such'. which is so fucking valid. but i cant deny that part of me projects that mom friend type of myself onto cumulus specifically because i look most like her. she's sweet. she's caring. shes supportive and loyal to her friends. she's got a beautiful, round, soft body that i wanna snuggle up to. and i know thats surface level shit. but i feel like i see her and she's just warm and kind.

but you know what? she's also a bit loud. likes to tease. DESERVES to be treated like the princess that she is. she's goofy. maybe shes clumsy. she gets crazy fuckin bedhead and has to spend so long untangling it. and i bet she serves a real sexy aloofness if you get her in the right mood. to me she's that mom friend trope. but thats not all she is, just as thats not all i am. and not at all how you would see yourself.

like i mentioned a little bit ago, i dont think there's anything wrong with having a character have a little bit of stereotype in them. but it does have to be balanced out. shes not JUST the mom friend. and something too that i do agree with you is, while i might label her that, she's not the pack's mother. she isnt their caretaker. they arent her children. i dont think they would treat her as such or assume that of her, if that makes sense. and yeah, totally understandable about the mommy during sex thing, or the nursing or whatever. a lot of that is more kink territory too, so if its not for you, then its not for you!

if anything, i always imagine aether to be running around making sure everyones got their shit together (even though we know he doesnt). and absolutely no ones forcing him to wear that damn frilly apron he always seems to be wearing in the kitchen . . . hmm . . .

but! i also see sunny as more of that warm, caregiving type personality too. as well as a boundless thing of energy. i def dont want cumulus to be pigeonholed into the 'mom' of the group either. but i still have certain ideas about how she is that could be labeled as such. you and everyone else is right that that's not all she is.

we just have to write her more. dig into her character. put her into those situations we want to see and that also challenge those two dimensional aspects of her trope character

i know that i push a little bit against that dislike of the mom thing. i dunno. but she's our lus and i love her very much, and would really like to see her more in the artwork & writing space <3

Its easy to guess why and i dont blame you at all for not wanting anything to do with a transphobe and/or her work, but i was curious to know whether or not you regret the previous hp art you have done? I always thought it was lovely, but your stories made me think that maybe it is something you wish you hadnt involved yourself in. Either way, lots of love! <3

Hello! Not rude, don’t worry. So many people reached out to me to ask about this. I drew hp art during a time when that lore brought me lots of comfort (during my thesis/beginning of the quarantine) so I don’t particularly regret my art from then. I also met some good friends i still talk to in the fandom and so many people told me the art i made during that period brought them joy. It felt great for a while to say “fuck canon” and make hp queer as hell.

Although, there’s a point you reach where you realise that it’s just not worth supporting it when the lives of trans people are at stake because of the kind of bullshit JKR has been spouting. separating the art from the artist isn’t enough. she still makes money off of it and you’re still creating buzz around the books/movies. I also had moments in the fandom when i felt very uncomfortable and had to take a step back but that is still nothing compared to what trans people have to endure on a daily basis.

I know so many friends I made in that fandom who are dropping it one by one and I stand with all of them on this decision. The only way you’ll see me interact with hp now is if you see me compliment a friend’s artwork if it pops up in my radar. otherwise I really don’t want to interact with that universe anymore.

How can you watch that paris video and not doubt it's authenticity? Yes it was tae, I am not saying it was a cosplayer (the dumbest theory acc to me), but did you not see their body language? Taennie shippers change narratives as per the situation. The paris walk was them trying to go public but his radio silence ever since is now him trying to keep his relationship private. Make it make sense 🙄. She was being dragged left and right by everyone bcs of that show but tae kept himself as far from her as possible. But acc to your idea of tae he should've spoken in favour of her, shown some sort of support to her.

Do you really have no idea of how real life works? Tae wouldn't do this he wouldn't do that... people do many things that they don't like for work. So many queer artists used to do this back when Hollywood wasn't as open. Sk is very backwards in terms of queer support. Holland is a prime example of that. Not one label was ready to launch him bcs of his sexuality. So pls don't be delusional and think that if tae or any other idol of his stature were to come out they'd be welcomed with open arms.

Unlike you I don't want to assume his sexuality but I will say that tae wouldn't want to attract any unwanted attention during his ms by coming out before enlistment. As for his career, do you really want to believe that people will still support him as much as they do rn if he decided to come out rn? He is at the peak of his career why would he want to jeopardize that?
