I’m intrigued to hear your thoughts/headcanons on Regina and Leopold’s “marriage” and what exactly it was like for everyone involved eg. Snow, Cora, Henry Sr, ofc Regina and etc. I went way too deep into a thought-spiral myself about it and the more I dwell on it, the more pain I feel for Regina. Given the tiny heartbreaking pieces of insight we’re given about her life as Leopold’s wife in flashbacks, just imagine the crap she had to go through that we didn’t even get to see onscreen.
honestly, i think if ouat hadn’t been a “family show,” regina’s story would’ve been even more depressing because yeah, there is so much we just didn’t get to see but was hinted at and i—
give this poor woman a break. anyway.
one thing that always really bothered me about snow is that it seems like no one ever sat her down and told her that her father was regina’s abuser, so she brings him up when she shouldn’t (like the idea that she was going to name baby neal “leopold.” i mean. can you imagine the amount of shit that would’ve brought up for regina.)
which is why, in my mind, snow and regina actually do sit and down and have that conversation at some point
archie’s the one who suggests it when snow mentions leopold and it causes regina to go into a full blown panic attack. she tells him about this in a session and he tells her the only way she’s going to be able to stop this is by letting snow know that it makes her uncomfortable
which regina really doesn’t like. she’s never had any intention of telling snow the truth about all of that. and honeslty, i think this has always been the case, even when she was the evil queen
she’d rather snow live in a blissful world were her father was actually a good guy, then be the one to tell her that no, he was actually a really, really shitty human being
maybe because regina knows what it’s like to have a parent who lets you down
and when she has to have that conversation with snow, she’s terrified. she has herself convinced that she’s going to lose everyone (snow, emma, henry, etc.) because of it
but emma assures her that it won’t happen like that because this is snow white we’re talking about and despite being given many chances to walk out regina’s life for good, she never has
snow is upset, to say the least, when she finds out but it’s not for the reasons regina thinks. i mean, yes, she’s hurt to find out her father was a piece of shit but she’s more hurt to find out regina had to go through what she did, and to find out that maybe daniel wasn’t the whole reason as to why the evil queen wanted to kill her for so long
ultimately, she tells regina simply “you’re my family now. not him.” and that’s that. snow may be an idiot at times but she does care for those she loves fiercely and regina is one of those people
(which by the way, quick side note, david has always had a bit more of an understanding as to who snow’s father really was. he can read between the lines and he actually noticed all the times regina would flinch when snow mentioned her father’s name. he’s actually grateful when snow and regina finally talk about it, because it’s always been an elephant in the room)
regina knows cora is the reason she was forced to be in that marriage, and yeah, she’s found ways to forgive her but that relationship will always be tainted because of it. it makes things like mother’s day and cora’s birthday all that much harder for regina
she can also admit that her father didn’t help things. henry sr loved her immensely, but he was also a coward who stood by and let regina get abused by multiple different people (cora, leopold, rumple). he even admitted to this in the underworld, at least in terms of cora
but regina forgives him easily because even though he never tried to stop it, he was also the only person who held her and was there for her after the king would do what he wanted to her
at the end of the day, this is something regina tried really hard to just forget. but it does come back and hit her hard and that’s why conversations, like the one she has with snow, have to happen
there are a few days out of the year that really bring back those feelings in full swing (the anniversary of her wedding night, etc.) and her family is aware of when these days are and how to help regina handle them
usually it involves her and emma staying home from work, watching shitty movies david and zelena suggest, and eating a casserole snow made (the one thing snow makes that regina doesn’t complain about—actually she loves it)
also, regina isn’t fragile. she’s not broken. but she is trying to heal and when there aren’t villains to fight every single day, there’s more time for her to think over those things from her past
and it’s a real fucking journey

CREAMO COYL presents FIVE RECORDS I GOT DURING QUARANTINE
CREAMO COYL presents
FIVE RECORDS I GOT DURING QUARANTINE
Architects Office - Caswallon The Headhunter [Silent; 1986]
Architects Office was a conglomeration from Boulder, Colorado, which is in the western half of the United States. Known primarily as a hippie haven, Boulder is, in actuality, boring as fuck. I once spent hours digging through a musty record store only to come up empty. Then again, at the time, I wasn’t hip to the Office. Probably flipped past a stack of sealeds, but I doubt it—this album exudes cool/weird vibes. In fact, the cover of Caswallon The Headhunter is a still from a Stan Brakhage film. As a sort of John Cage of cinema, Brakhage was an avant-garde institution, and Architects Office collaborated with him over a period of years. Based on a story written by Brakhage’s wife Jane, Caswallon The Headhunter’s full stage production included a theatrical backdrop, elaborate costumes, detailed choreography and original films, in addition to AO’s real-time soundtrack. Caswallon is the only proper vinyl offering that Architects Office managed to get out. Considering it was the salad days of home-taping and mail art, they mostly released cassettes. Architects Office was not possessive, as their name can testify. My copy is warped and the jacket is taped together, but it plays mostly fine and thus I am able to enter the mythical world of Caswallon whenever it strikes my fancy. A mist-shrouded olden time when “...nobody would shave their pubic hairs...” and warriors would “...use lime-wash to make their hairs stand on end” (punk!). Close your eyes and imagine what effect “The Third Ill-Fated Disclosure” had on a medieval past featuring King Arthur and the denizens of the British Isles contending with invading Vikings and the iron-fisted rule of the Roman Empire. As a man and a woman recite the narrative, tape manipulations engulf the surroundings. Sheets of synthetic noise rain down amid sounds of flung crockery, violent chewing and animals howling in the night. “Exhausted 329.4” foregrounds heavy, labored breathing that segues from faintly erotic to possibly torture-induced, culminating in a disturbing climax. “Party/Party 327.5” makes use of a conversation that Stan Brakhage tape-recorded in 1949. Time enters a slipstream and vanishes into the vortex. By the end of the second side, treated horns and liquid electronics take on slightly more recognizable shapes, but retain the “flock of druids bathed in moonlight” scene-setting. Caswallon The Headhunter calls back to ancient oral traditions while anchoring it in the modern era via musique concrete techniques. Pierre Henry meets Ursula K. Le Guin and they exchange stories across the fire-pit. Michael Moorcock brews the coffee and after the tales are told, everyone gets a good night’s rest.
Blue Daisies - Wilt [Iridescence; 1985]
Based in Los Angeles, The Blue Daisies played fractured rock music that was pleasantly bent and flirted with the avant-garde. The scrap of info that put the Blue Daisies on my radar was the fact that Steve Stain was the drummer. Steve Stain is responsible for the delightful, bizarre, slightly unhinged and certainly unheralded The Brain Feels No Pain (New Alliance; 1986) album. Subbing for Steve on a few songs on Wilt is Brad Laner. After starting as a teenager in Earth Dies Burning, Brad went on to be in Severed Head In A Bag, Steaming Coils, Electric Company and Medicine, to name just a few. Freak cred established, I plucked a cheap copy from the ether. At first glance, the cover throws you for a loop cuz it looks kind of like some kind of post-youth crew/proto-moshcore nightmare. But this was 1985 and punks sporting corporate logos and baseball hats was still a few years off. Blue Daisies tapped into the West Coast “tribal post-punk” scene that began with Savage Republic, shared a smoke break with Fourwaycross, and ended in tragedy with Perry Farrell’s Psi-Com. Labelmates for the Daisies included the aforementioned SR, Half Japanese, Eugene Chadbourne and even the first appearance of Sonic Youth/Lydia Lunch’s classic “Death Valley ‘69.” Wilt is fun, noisy, grinding, and plenty (of fools) would say “dated.” “Slot,” with its clanging percussion and slurred chanting, seems like a product of Stain’s fevered cerebrum. “Suck Me” is a sarcastic anthem for punks who want to move like ragdolls that ends in a psychedelic rave-up. On the flip, “Dance Dance Dance” further jerks the puppets around, much to their delight. “Everything And Nothing At All” was actually re-purposed a couple years later for the Blissed Out Fatalists album (reissued in 2012). “Es Amor (Hand Job)” subverts LA “punk-funk” with junk percussion and turntable abuse. Closing cut, “Beautiful Kid,” leans full-force into this emerging sound, dodgy rapping and all. In a parallel universe, Blue Daisies is still out there, touring arenas with Fishbone and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Strafe Für Rebellion - s/t (Pure Freude; 1983)
Dunno why this group isn’t world-famous, but if I can help make that happen—even with an abbreviated spiel in a punk zine—well, let’s get this fuckin party started. A collaboration between Bernd Kastner and Siegfried Syniuga, the German duo transmutated and emancipated lovely and harrowing sounds from the jealous gargoyles that hold them close. These guys levitate up to the draftiest sections of the castle and come back with true alchemy in the form of song. Shorthand description goes like this: If Nurse With Wound was a rock band. Not good enough for you? Strafe Für Rebellion laughs in your face (“a soundless message of death” according to the following LP and the one that eludes my grasp). “Bum Bum” immediately puts your hackles on notice as an assortment of clattering, knocking and thudding sounds join with warped vocals and all of a sudden you are witnessing an infestation of ghosts. Eerie and thrilling—the Strafe Für Rebellion experience in a nutshell. “Siamang” approximates mutant disco as played by the succubi that live in the walls of Dracula’s fortress. “Blaue Mig” is a terrifying trudge, like Swans set loose in the primate enclosure. Strafe Für Rebellion’s sound palate is extensive—field recordings, shakers, violins, Turkish lutes, metal-on-metal and layers of voices like otherworldly choirs. The b-side is even more haunted, almost like Syniuga and Kastner had already used up so much creative energy this early in their career that Mephistopheles has come for his due way ahead of schedule. (Faust had perhaps more of an influence than just the Tapes). Alas, I do not have the accompanying 7” that came with the LP, so to that I say—”Send it to me, please, goddammit.” If you extract any pleasure from the dark, twisted genius of groups like Hirsche Nicht Aufs Sofa, Die Tödliche Doris or Village Of Savoonga, then you deserve a dose of “punishment for rebellion.”
John Fekner City Squad - Idioblast (Vinyl Gridlock; 1984)
This record is pure, unfettered joy on twelve inches of polyvinyl chloride. Not sure where I first heard “I Get Paid To Clap,” but it was love at first machine-drum thwack. Vinyl Gridlock put out three flexis and two 12”s, but most of this material is on the sole LP that Fekner and his City Squad eked out during the mid-’80s. Idioblast is a lost classic, a future shock narrative ahead of its time, and yet completely of its era like few artifacts before or since. The cover tips you off from the jump—a crude but effective collage featuring slogans like Toxic Junkie, Industrial Fossil, Growth Decay and Soft Brains Watch The Screen And Buy The Jeans. Hell, the first lyric on the album is “The place to be is on the space shuttle/if you’re brave enough to get on it,” which seems to anticipate the Challenger disaster two years later. NYC native John Fekner was a pioneering artist who specialized in stencil and graffiti art, so his interest in hip-hop transcended mere novelty. All of the tracks on Idioblast directly reference the ideas that inspired Fekner’s visual art. His guerilla stencil works on decaying public structures in the late ‘60s are crucial antecedents to the graffiti explosion a decade later, in which he also played a key role. As an MC, he acquits himself well on “Rapicasso,” almost justifying that endearingly corny title. Splitting the difference between hip-hop and new wave, “The Beat” is like Thomas Dolby meets Run-DMC and should’ve been a radio staple for at least one sticky summer. Channeling Fekner’s slogan-stencil aesthetic, “Travelogue The 80’s” is a tour de force reminiscent of Negativland’s experiments in audio culture jamming. Overtop dueling drum machines, television news samples tell the tale of society spiraling into deadly farce courtesy of fundamentalist thought and rampant corruption. “2 4 5 7 9 11” opens side two with a Howard Beale soundbite and proceeds to lay down a funky, melodic jam that could soundtrack either a couples roller-skate or a drug-fueled evening out. My favorite part is the breakdown where the female MC lays down her bars in an android-like cadence. This kind of goofy, political rap would soon morph into the humorless pastiche of Consolidated, but it’s fresh as the day’s first bagels on Idioblast. “I Get Paid To Clap” is irresistible, another duet between a cool chick and a hip dude as panned noises mimic the cacophony of the city. They want to know: “R U A Vidiot?” Up to this point, John Fekner City Squad is in rare company alongside pioneering post-no wave beat outfits like Death Comet Crew, Rammellzee and 3 Teens Kill 4, but the last two songs throw you off-balance yet again. “The Sight Of The Child” features a nameless youth describing his post-apocalyptic world over a bed of bluesy harmonica. “Wheels Over Indian Trails” comes blowing in on drippy acoustic guitar like some ‘70s private press obscurity as an earnest Fekner sings about white Europeans colonizing the New World and defacing the natives’ land. Initially, the song seems miles from the congested urban pollution of the preceding tracks, but it works somehow and solidifies the idiosyncrasy of this peculiar record. Luckily, I was able to procure a sealed version of this epochal release and I am pleased to report that the Another Four Years! 6” flexi does indeed keep Idioblast close company during these dark times. One last lesson on the cover lands particularly hard in the current moment: Beauty’s Only Screen Deep. Indeed.
Strange Fruit (Abiku) - On Top Of A Hill EP (Babel; 1983)
This little record has the distinction of being the only one on this list that I picked up at an actual brick-and-mortar store (Ridgewood NY’s Deep Cuts). It was a serendipitous find, as only a few months prior I had gotten a bit obsessed with this long-gone Michigan band. Featuring a pre-Crucifucks Steve Shelley, a pre-Two Dollar Guitar Tim Foljahn and Steve Miller from The Fix, Strange Fruit must have ruled the Kalamazoo art-punk scene for their brief existence. Or maybe everyone hated them. Based on this three-song 7”, you can see why Sonic Youth snatched Shelley up when they had the chance. While it’s obvious that at least one person in the band had a copy of No New York, Strange Fruit’s songs have a loose but feral quality to them that is casual in its violence; a sense of sickness curdling into cruelty. Their sound is a cauldron in which stirs noise guitar, tumbling rhythms and enchanted singing from goth-chanteuse Sherrie Feight. I’m imagining a bill with Strange Fruit Abiku, L-Seven and Dark Arts from Chicago. That’s a witchy night full of promise and premonition. What’s with the name? The single is under Strange Fruit, but “Abiku” shows up all over the packaging. By the time they made their LP (Sin Eaters Picnic) the following year, the band had added Abiku to the proper name. And then there’s another LP on Babel that seems to be a split between Abiku Red and Ark Of Bone (which may be the same band). That one is called A Phosphorus Seed and based on the one track I’ve heard, it’s as high-quality as the flagship act. Mysterious shit, indeed! At first, I thought the copy I had picked up was a late ‘80s repress, but further research indicates that it is indeed an original. Fortunately, Steve Shelley has finally made some moves towards getting this music out there. Under his Vampire Blues label, he released a digital version of On Top Of A Hill which adds three more tracks that are just as good as the original material. Sin Eaters Picnic is even better than the single, so here’s hoping Steve reissues it, or perhaps I’ll stumble onto a copy one of these days.
Spin Age Blasters with Creamo Coyl airs every Tuesday from 3 PM til 6 PM (eastern standard time) on WFMU(.org).
>>>>The above thingamajig appeared last year, in the most recent issue of Alex Ratcharge's PSYCHO DISCO zine from France.

Given that S3 is a whodunit, I imagine it’s Brainwave who’s mind is still alive in Yolanda. I can see this season possibly resolving Yolanda’s arc with the King family once and for all. My even wilder Henry Jr. is in Henry Sr.’ mind holding him back from fully possessing Yolanda.
Lol that certainly is wild. Poor Yolanda truly never catches a break. I am definitely down for a brainwave’s ghost ejected storyline ngl

An actual relationship with Henry would be a complicated thing considering who he is.
It's possible that he could meet you as an employee at the hospital or another resident of Blue Valley and hear pure, good thoughts like he did from Merri so many years ago. Maybe you could have something then, but he has to keep so many secrets and tell so many lies. And once you see how he treats his son, it's probably not going to last much longer after that.
It's more likely that you're fellow Injustice Society members who have a 'coworkers with benefits' situation as opposed to actually dating. After Merri, Henry's not ready to love again, and you know exactly what kind of person he is and that you don't want to get too deeply involved.
It actually works out pretty perfectly. You can meet up with each other when the need strikes, and you team up if necessary whenever something needs to be taken care of for Project New America. You and Henry each know who the other is and what terrible things you've both done, so you don't have to hide or pretend.
The rest of the ISA may have a sneaking suspicion that the two of you have this kind of relationship, but it's never been confirmed. Henry Jr on the other hand has no idea that you know each other, let alone that you're sleeping together.
Over the years, some feelings beyond a sexual relationship could develop, though it will always be hidden and unspoken. Henry has you at a bit of a disadvantage, because he knows about your feelings and will never let his own show.
You're a little upset when he ends up in a coma, but that will probably go away once he murders his son. Unless you're on board with that kind of thing as well.
No matter which scenario, it's not going to go well. Henry will have his throat slit in the tunnels and you'll end up on the run like the Gambler or in prison like Sportsmaster and Tigress. There will be no happy ending here...

Imagine being in Henry’s home office while he’s doing paperwork. You’re sitting in one of the armchairs next to the fireplace, silently reading a book. He still has a lot of paperwork, so he can’t spend time with you yet, but you’re completely fine with that. You love the simple peaceful moments like this with the two of you in a comfortable silence.
You’ll never admit it aloud, but you tend to steal glances at Henry. You can’t explain it, but there’s just something so charming about the way he concentrates on his work and how his hand moves across the paper with such precision as he writes. During another brief moment when you turn a page, you glance at him, this time longer than you intended, and you immediately avert your eyes back to the book once you notice Henry turn your way. Even if he asks you about your behavior, you’ll simply look at him innocently, acting as though you have no idea what he’s talking about. You know lying to him is impossible, but you’ll never admit the truth aloud, especially not when he looks at you with his beautiful blue eyes which make your heart skip a beat.
And he knows that. Henry noticed every one of your glances, but he doesn’t mind them and finds it cute that you try to be very subtle about them. Once he gets up to go and make himself a cup of coffee, as he walks past you, he gives you a quick kiss on the cheek. You should be used to his quick surprise kisses by now, they shouldn’t feel so special anymore, but every time Henry takes you by surprise like that, you can’t help but smile so brightly. And he loves that smile 💖

queer classic book recs!!
Image description under the cut! Please tell me if I did something wrong and I will gladly change it!
The other recs will be in the reblog!
[Each slide excluding the title screen includes 3 photos relating to the book, largely alternative covers of each in a small grid format.]
Slide One: In the center is a box with interior text reading "13 lgbtq classics and 1 “modern” classic. Recs in the comments welcome!" The top left corner includes an image of a calligraphy quill. Underneath this is text that reads "Disclaimer! The beginning of this list is.. Very White, but don't worry it gets more diverse as the books get more recent!!" In the top right corner is a text box reading "Look up trigger warnings or I’ll steal your gender! … or give it back!!" under this is a picture of an open book displayed in the foreground and another stack of books in the background.
Slide Two: Carmilla by J. Sheridan Le Fanu.
1872
Lesbian/wlw but written by a man
vampires!
“Following a near-fatal carriage collision, the beautiful young Carmilla is taken in by the narrator Laura and her father.”
While this book plays into the stereotype of the “monteress, seductive lesbian,” it is one of the oldest and most famous classical texts depicting a lesbian relationship. Toxic AF.
Slide Three: The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
1890
not explicitly queer (subtext)
but gay (mlm) tho
“Enthralled by his own exquisite portrait, Dorian Gray exchanges his soul for eternal youth and beauty. Influenced by his friend Lord Henry Wotton, he is drawn into a corrupt double life, indulging his desires in secret while remaining a gentleman in the eyes of polite society. Only his portrait bears the traces of his decadence.”
This book contains Anti-semitism, Racism, Sexism and is honestly a product of its time. Oscar Wilde is certainly a character.
Slide Four: Orlando by Virginia Woolf
1928
sapphic/gender exploration
“The novel opens as Orlando, a young nobleman in Elizabeth's England, awaits a visit from the Queen and traces his experience with first love as England under James I lies locked in the embrace of the Great Frost.”
Main Character is racist and anti-Semitic. While her writing is incredibly important and impactful as a queer figure, she will always be white before she is queer.
Slide Five: The Well of Loneliness by Radclyffe Hall
1928
lesbian/wlw
originally banned
“Stephen is an ideal child of aristocratic parents—a fencer, a horse rider, and a keen scholar. Stephen grows to be a war hero, a bestselling writer, and a loyal, protective lover. But Stephen is a woman, and her lovers are women. As her ambitions drive her, and society confines her, Stephen is forced into desperate actions.”
This book contains racism, use of the N-word, sexism, homophobia & lots of outdated ideas in general.
Slide Six: Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin
1956
gay/mlm
“In a 1950s Paris swarming with expatriates and characterized by dangerous liaisons and hidden violence, an American finds himself unable to repress his impulses, despite his determination to live the conventional life he envisions for himself. After meeting and proposing to a young woman, he falls into a lengthy affair with an Italian bartender and is confounded and tortured by his sexual identity as he oscillates between the two.”
OMG! A classic on this list in which I can't find any evidence of racism or antisemitism! /srs. Imagine that- it's almost like POC classical authors are important to teach about! /hj
Slide Seven: Maurice by E.M. Forster
1971
gay/mlm
fluffy, but homophobia exists in the story as well.
“Maurice is heartbroken over unrequited love, which opened his heart and mind to his own sexual identity. In order to be true to himself, he goes against the grain of society’s often unspoken rules of class, wealth, and politics.”
This book contains the use of the g slur. Please tell me if I missed something!
Slide Eight: HERmione by H.D.
1981
queer/sapphic woman author
poetry
so mf sad bro I mean look at that blurb
“An interior self-portrait of the poet H.D. (1886-1961) is what can best be described as a 'find', a posthumous treasure. ‘I am Hermione Gart, a failure' -she cried in her dementia, 'I am Her, Her, Her.”
To my knowledge, this book isn't problematic- please tell me if it is though!!
Slide Nine: Zami: A New Spelling of My Name by Audre Lorde
1982
lesbian/wlw
A staple of lesbian lit from before the peak of an activist’s career. Great read.
“From the author's vivid childhood memories in Harlem to her coming of age in the late 1950s, the nature of Audre Lorde's work is cyclical. It especially relates the linkage of women who have shaped her.”
Once again to my knowledge, this book isn't problematic
Slide Ten: The Color Purple by Alice Walker
1982
features queer women
has a movie adaptation!
“Separated as girls, sisters Celie and Nettie sustain their loyalty to and hope in each other across time, distance, and silence. Through a series of letters spanning twenty years, first from Celie to God, then the sisters to each other despite the unknown, the novel draws readers into its rich and memorable portrayals of Celie, Nettie, Shug Avery, and Sofia and their experience.”
Once again to my knowledge, this book isn't problematic
Slide Eleven: Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit by Jeanette Winterson
1985
lesbian/wlw
“This is the story of Jeanette, adopted and brought up by her mother as one of God's elect. Zealous and passionate, she seems destined for life as a missionary, but then she falls for one of her converts. At sixteen, Jeanette decides to leave the church, her home, and her family, for the young woman she loves. Innovative, punchy, and tender.”
Once again to my knowledge, this book isn't problematic- but warning, there are quite heavy themes!
Slide Twelve: Dykes to Watch Out For by Alison Bechdel
1986
lesbian/wlw
a classic comedy comic + a really good insight & look into lesbian culture
“Grin, giggle, and guffaw your way through this celebrated cartoonist's graphic commentary of contemporary lesbian life.”
Once again to my knowledge, this book isn't problematic*
*contains d-slur used by lesbians in a non-offensive way
Slide Thirteen: Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg
1993
lesbian/gender identity around lesbianism
“Woman or man? This internationally acclaimed novel looks at the world through the eyes of Jess Goldberg, a masculine girl growing up in the "Ozzie and Harriet" McCarthy era and coming out as a young butch lesbian in the pre-Stonewall gay drag bars of a blue-collar town. Stone Butch Blues traces a propulsive journey, powerfully evoking history and politics while portraying an extraordinary protagonist full of longing, vulnerability, and working-class grit.”
Once again to my knowledge, this book isn't problematic
Slide Fourteen: Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters
1998
lesbian/wlw
historical romance
“Nan King, an oyster girl, is captivated by the music hall phenomenon Kitty Butler, a male impersonator extraordinaire treading the boards in Canterbury. Through a friend at the box office, Nan manages to visit all her shows and finally meet her heroine. Soon after, she becomes Kitty's dresser, and the two head for the bright lights of Leicester Square where they begin a glittering career as music-hall stars in an all-singing and dancing double act. At the same time, behind closed doors, they admit their attraction to each other and their affair begins.”
Once again to my knowledge, this book isn't problematic
Slide Fifteen: Under the Udala Trees By Chinelo Okparanta
2015
lesbian/wlw
modern classic imo, look into the coexistence of native Nigerian culture & queerness
“Ijeoma comes of age as her nation does; born before independence, she is eleven when civil war breaks out in the young republic of Nigeria. Sent away to safety, she meets another displaced child, and they, star-crossed, fall in love. They are from different ethnic communities. They are also both girls. When their love is discovered, Ijeoma learns that she will have to hide this part of herself. But there is a cost to living inside a lie.”
Once again to my knowledge, this book isn't problematic

Hamilton Inaccuracies/Corrections (because why not?)
Okay so, I saw a post on reddit that was like, “what’s some inaccuracies in Hamilton off the top of your head?” and I got a whole bunch...and then I had to double check to make sure if I was right...and I’m pretty long-winded...and  now I have this 5,000ish word monstrosity. And apparently you can only post 1000 characters at a time on reddit. Laaaaame. So here’s some Hamilton facts I’ve gathered in my brain. Since it was kinda off the top of my head despite being so long, it’s kinda vague in some places, so if anyone wants to expand on anything (or correct me if I oopsed somewhere) please do! Though nicely please.
Also I am also awful at citing things, but I know I learned some of this from @john-laurens and @ciceroprofacto so thank you.
LET’S BEGIN!
Act 1
Rachel Faucette was not a prostitute, but she was a “whore” in the sense that she did what she fucking wanted with her body. During her first marriage she may or may not have been sleeping around, but she refused to stay with John Lavien, her husband, anymore. So he had her arrested. And he could do that. Because patriarchy and theocracy. And she was essentially put in solitary confinement. You can see why she tried to leave, right? She tried to get their marriage annulled or get a divorce. I forget what the issue was but she couldn’t and eventually she just moved to another island where she met James Hamilton.
The intro song makes it seem like Alexander was an only child. He actually had an older brother, James Jr., but he kinda fucked off after their mother died, working and taking care of himself. They also had an older half-brother Peter Lavien, but I don’t think they really knew him other than as the son of their mother’s abusive ex who took everything from them when she died. John Lavien was able to do that because when Rachel was with James Hamilton, she had not been able to get legally divorced from him so she wasn’t really married to James Hamilton, so James Jr. and Alexander were illegitimate ie bastards. He was an asshole. I don't think Peter had anything against the Hamiltons, but I think he grew up to be a Loyalist so. He actually made some trouble in South Carolina for Henry Laurens, John's dad! But I think I read somewhere he also left money for Alex and James Jr. In his will, which is sweet.
This is more visual since it’s not specified in the song, but in the show, Hamilton’s cousin mimes hanging himself. Peter Lytton’s cause of death if I recall was inconclusive, but he was in his bed and there was a lot of blood. So, yeah, he didn’t hang himself.
Alexander did not punch the bursar. However he did return to Princeton later during the war and blew a canon through the school and apparently decapitated a painting of King George lololol. He was under orders, but yknow. Probably felt pretty good after he was rejected for accelerated courses. He wasn’t the only bastard rejected, though! Ben Franklin’s bastard son was too. The guy in charge of admissions, Witherspoon, hated bastards as a concept and Princeton was a very religious school at the time I believe.
It may have been the plan by Aaron and Esther Burr for Aaron Jr to graduate Princeton, but like, he couldn’t really be sure of that? He was like 2 years old when they died, and his older sister Sally was 4 I believe, maybe 5.
Hercules Mulligan met Alex in 1772. His older brother Hugh knew Alex’s old employer in St. Croix and helped him get to mainland America. Alex and Hercules lived together for a long while, and Hercules is actually who got him interested in the revolution.
John Laurens was in England in 1776. He wouldn’t meet Hamilton and Lafayette until he accepted his post as Washington’s aide-de-camp upon his return in August of 1777.
Lafayette couldn’t have met Hamilton before August 1777 because that’s when he met Washington, and he was appointed as a volunteer to the Continental Army only a week prior, and before that he had been in France. But Lafayette later declared their relationship to be like that of brothers, Alexander his closest connection in the states besides Washington.
Lafayette admired and absolutely adored Laurens and they were besties, but neither of them knew Mulligan. They may have met in passing, or heard about him from Hamilton, but nothing more.
“Lafayette” was actually a nickname based on his title of “Marquis de la Fayette”. In his autobiography, he wrote: “It’s not my fault I was baptized like a Spaniard, with the name of every conceivable saint who might offer me more protection in battle.” I’m glad he thought it was funny at least. His name is Marie-Joseph Paul Yves Roch Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de la Fayette.
Hercules Mulligan is not known to fuck horses.
The Revolution had already sorta started. Actually, Hercules and Alexander had been part of local militias before 1776.
This is more of a miscommunication since the actors are close in age, though the lyrics try to get it across. There’s a reason Mulligan says he’s got the others “in loco parentis”. In 1776 Hamilton and Lafayette would have been 19, Laurens would have been 22, and Mulligan would have been 36.
I think we all know “Laurens, I like you a lot” does not cover the scope of their relationship but that’s rather self explanatory so unless someone asks I’ll leave it at that. And for other clarifications. But at the very least I’ll share this: Anyone who saw them knew they were like attached at the hip (without knowing how attached *winkwonk*) and you could almost always contact one through the other. Laurens was notoriously bad at answering letters, to Hamilton too (and Alex did bitch about it because he is insecure and needs love), but it became quickly known he got back to Hamilton fastest so people would be like “Tell Laurens I said hi!” or “Hey, I need to get these to Laurens, you send them to him.” Which is hilarious. I just imagine Alexander going, “Why me?”
While all of them are Revolutionaries, Laurens is the only one you could solidly call an abolitionist, and Mulligan’s even shaky on the manumission part. He was supposedly part of the Manumission Society Hamilton helped start, but Mulligan also personally owned slaves and was never known to have freed them (One helped him with spy shit. His name was Cato!). In fairness, Hamilton and Lafayette wholeheartedly agreed with Laurens, and Hamilton was the biggest supporter of his battalion plan, and both of them did try to continue working towards equality after the war, but it was never the top priority for either of them and their lives kinda went to hell, so it fell to the wayside. Lafayette actually did some nifty stuff worth looking at, and Hamilton might have tried to keep one of John Lauren’s freed men from Henry Laurens! But as slavery stuck around for a while, it clearly wasn’t anything significant.
Angelica would meet and befriend Thomas Jefferson in Europe, but she would never manage to convince him to put women in a sequel because he’s a huge misogynist and told her in multiple letters that politics isn’t for women and I think he deserves a shoe up his southern backside. Side note, it always bothered me that Lin played up the misogyny in the musical. I mean, yeah, all of them would be misogynists compared to us, but for their time, Hamilton wasn’t so bad. If there was anyone to play up misogyny with, it was Jefferson, because he would tell Angelica for years and years that politics could never make women happy, and that the women in France were foolish for trying etc.. Hamilton would actually discuss politics with Angelica frequently and openly. And there’s a proto-feminist in the cast that was never recognized—Aaron Burr! He respected Theodosia Sr. as an equal and she was his most valuable political ally, and he made sure Theodosia Jr. got the same education any boy of her time would have. He actually respected women to a decent degree. Not to say he wasn't as much of a ho as Hamilton cuz yeah that's accurate (but they were both disaster bisexuals more on Burr's sexuality later)
Farmer Refuted was an essay Hamilton wrote arguing against Samuel Seabury's posts. They weren't shouting in the public square(but Lin got the sass right. I love his face when Hamilton and Seabury are fighting over the podium). Seabury was also really really old, not young and cute like Thayne, hence the line about "mange". Blech.
General Montgomery didn’t take a bullet in the neck, it was a grapeshot from a canon in his head (and his thighs), but close enough I guess. Side note: Burr actually served a short interim on Washington’s staff, but only for like 10 days because they hated each other lolol.
Alexander didn’t bring Laurens, Mulligan, or Lafayette to Washington. Lafayette joined up with the Continental Army in 1777 and quickly convinced them he wasn’t like the other French nobles; he was a glory-seeking kid with a boner for America (for some reason???). Laurens was requested by Washington to join his military family and he arrived also in August 1777 just after Lafayette. Like previously stated, Mulligan was doing shit even before Hamilton did.
Alexander would not have been in charge of spy shit (though may have been somewhat involved). Washington had people like Mulligan for that, who actually saved Washington a few times. But also, the "King’s men who might let some things slide" was the tactic Mulligan used. He was actually very charming, and his wife was very high in British society and he was a skilled tailor, so they were thought of well among the redcoats, and he got a lot of information through chatting with his customers. He also could usually smooth-talk his way out of trouble. Actually, Mulligan blended in so well, when the war was over, people in the city wanted him out cuz they thought he was a Loyalist. So George fucking Washington paid him a visit and commissioned I think a coat from him, and that cleared that up. He got a LOT of business after that.
Alexander would not be Washington’s right hand man, or at least, not his only one if Lin was using that to mean aide-de-camp. In that case, Laurens would also be Washington’s right hand man, along with many men not named in the musical.
John Laurens may have been reliable with the ladies (comes with the territory of being hot, rich, and a perfect gentleman), but he most certainly didn’t want to be. His father noted, rather proudly at the time, that as a young teenager he expressed no interest in girls. John was also married by 1780, and at least Alexander knew. (he told John he'd found out in the well-known April 1779 letter. You know... “Cold in my professions...find me a wife...the length of my nose...” That one.) Because John apparently didn't tell people he was married. Laurens. Sweetheart. Get. Your. Shit. Together.
John also would not be at this ball. February 1779 to March 1780 he is fighting down south, and this ball was early 1780.
The tomcat thing may be half true. Martha Washington did supposedly name a cat Hamilton, but it was an affectionate thing. The slang tomcat meaning ho wasn’t a thing at that time, so it couldn’t be named to tease Alex for his promiscuity. I believe this was one of the many things John Adams made up to slander Hamilton.
Hamilton and Eliza had met before 1780. They had met once two years prior at a dinner her father had hosted. Also, Hamilton had been courting her friend Kitty Livingston, and his friend and fellow aide Tench Tilghman had been attempting to court Eliza, and they’d actually done at least one sort-of double date (which is adorable). So this shouldn’t have been the first time they’d seen each other. Could still be when they fell in love, though, since they started courting after this. Which is cute to think about.
Speaking of Tench and Eliza! I don't remember when this took place but Tilghman journaled it, he went out on something of a hike with a few ladies and they got to a cliff. Of course, he had to help the girls climb up. Except Eliza who started climbing by herself like a natural to the bewilderment and likely horror of the other ladies. Elizabeth Schuyler was a bamf okay?
Of course everyone knows by now, Angelica was married before Eliza. During the Winter’s Ball, she’d already eloped with Jack Carter aka John Barker Church and run away to Boston.
Their courtship was not that fast. Not like, weeks. More like months. Fun fact, Eliza is the only of the five (yes FIVE) Schuyler sisters who didn’t elope and actually got her parents permission! But here’s a heartbreaking fun fact: while Alex was courting Eliza, Laurens was taken prisoner and then on probation. He wasn’t allowed to leave the state of Pennsylvania. He was mentally in a very dark place. Alex kind of procrastinated telling Laurens about Eliza, didn’t say he was courting anyone until they were already engaged.
I can't leave this alone if I'm sad you have to be too. Alex was hella depressed during this time too. Of course he was a soldier so he couldn't see Eliza as much as he'd have liked. On top of that, he kept pushing for an exchange for John and kept getting rejected because they couldn't show preference for him. And then Laurens was sending him very few letters, of course, and the ones he did send were very depressed, even suicidal sounding. He had to work while dealing with that. He had to keep begging Eliza to write to him to be reassured that she still liked him.
No one could show up for Hamilton for the wedding. Some sources say fellow aide James McHenry showed up, but he’s the only one. Alexander even invited his deadbeat dad, offered to pay all his travel expenses and everything, guess how that turned out. So Eliza’s side of the hall was packed and his was empty. God, can you imagine how sad that is?
Another heartbreaking fun fact! John Laurens was out of probation and could have made it to the wedding, was invited (Hamilton, I kid you not, jokingly invited him to a threesome with his new wife in a letter: “I wish you were at liberty to transgress the bounds of Pensylvania. I would invite you after the fall to Albany to be witness to the final consummation.” (emphasis is original to Hamilton. As is the misspelling of Pennsylvania. Yes, seriously.)) and John did not go. Instead he went back to work trying to talk his way out of getting sent as an envoy to France and suggesting Alexander to take his place. You know. His boyfriend who just got married. Sure, he was right that Hamilton was better equipped for the job, but yknow. Another fun fact, one of the guys who voted for John to be the one to go to France was John’s ex-boyfriend Francis Kinloch. Who was a turncoat, and had been a royalist when he and Laurens split. How’s that for some twisty bullshit.
Sorry, this one isn’t about the musical, it’s a tangent, I just got excited about that quote. Both that style of innuendo and the misspelling of Pennsylvania are consistent in Hamilton’s writing. Listening to john-lauren’s podcast about the April 1779 letter can really help you understand how Hammy uses innuendo but also I just love listening to it it’s insightful and hilarious and I love John Laurens but y u do this and my heart hurts for Hamilton but he is also a ho but aNYWAY. As for Pensylvania...well, he kinda made that mistake on an important document. ...It’s The Constitution. He misspelled Pennsylvania on The Constitution. No big deal. Not like something that could haunt his legacy forever. Oh my god I’m so sorry.
Philip Schuyler did have sons. Five in fact. Two of them died pretty young though I think, considering there are three kids in a row named John Bradstreet Schuyler. The other two were named Philip Jeremiah and Rensselaer.
Laurens, Lafayette, and Mulligan were all married before Hamilton. Hercules Mulligan married Elizabeth Sanders in 1773. Lafayette married his beloved Adrienne in 1774. John Laurens was regretfully obliged to marry Martha Manning in 1776.
Sigh. Again with the misogyny. Anyway, I wanted to comment on the marriage as a loss of freedom. From what I can tell, Elizabeth helped Hercules with his spy work at home. John was literally fighting a war across the ocean from his wife, and probably having an illegal affair with Alexander (though to be fair to him, he was kind of running away from Martha because he didn't marry her for love, gosh, there are no winners here). Lafayette absolutely adored his wife but still was also fighting a war an ocean away, and had multiple affairs, at least one with his wife’s blessing. So yeah, losing your freedom with marriage? Bullshit.
Despite where it is in the musical and Eliza singing the beginning, Stay Alive is roughly about Valley Forge, which would be December of 1777 through June of 78. So before the ball and wedding. (Fun fact! A lot of people theorize Valley Forge as when Hamilton and Laurens’ relationship may have escalated into romantic and/or sexual territory. They may have had more privacy, as small temporary buildings were being made to better withstand the cold, and Hamilton was sick a lot during that time and did need tending a lot. West Indian boi did not like Northern winter.) But yeah, Congress being stupid and the army resorting to eating their horses sometimes and not being able to buy food and equipment? All true. It was a real bad winter.
Mulligan wouldn’t have to go back to New York, he never would have left. He remained there as a tailor and a spy throughout the war. He wouldn’t have been traveling with Washington.
Hamilton and Laurens didn't write essays so much as start working out John's battalion plan and writing letters trying to push for it.
This duel happened in 1778, so like. This timeline is so fucky.
Stay Alive makes it seem like Hamilton was the one who wanted to duel Lee, but it was 100% Laurens from the start. The off-Broadway version demonstrates it a bit better. Hamilton was Lauren's second to save his ass. Hamilton had a rough relationship with Washington, but Laurens admired him greatly and would have willingly defended his commander’s honor. John was a Good Boy who always bowed his head to his asshole father, even at first for his battalion plan, but John wouldn’t let even his father talk shit about Washington. Fun fact about this duel, Alex and John were late to the duel because they “got lost in the woods”. Oooookay. Suuuuuuure. And Baron von Steuben was straight. (Fact: Steuben was very gay and pretty much pushed out of Europe for it. And he actually also had challenged Lee! They talked things out before this.)
Aaron Burr was not Charles Lee’s second. His second was a Major Evan Edwards. Lin wanted a parallel with the final duel. To be fair, that was a really cool way to do it and I like it better that way.
Alexander Hamilton could NOT agree that duels are dumb and immature. He was in 10 duel challenges as a participant in his lifetime, 9 of which he was the challenger. One time he challenged two people at once. One time he challenged an entire politcal party apparently. No, I am not kidding. He had a bad day. And I think you know the one time he wasn’t the challenger.
Lee did not yield on the first shot, nor was Laurens satisfied. Lee was pretty much like, “It’s just a flesh wound!” and wanted to go another round and Laurens agreed, but Hamilton and Edwards managed to talk them down. Yes he was shot in the side. But that wasn’t all because Laurens absolutely roasted Lee at his court martial.
Lee: Were you ever in an action before?
Laurens: I have been in several actions; I did not call that an action, as there was no action previous to the retreat.
I love this man. So much. The sass of this man.
We don’t know if Washington was angry about the duel with Lee. We do know that Laurens, and probably Hamilton, had Christmas dinner with him two days later. When Hamilton left, it was because Washington had snapped over a misunderstanding (caused by Lafayette actually, and he really tried to make it better because Lafayette is a sweetheart), and then continued to deny Hamilton the command he requested, and he resigned. It was entirely unrelated to the duel and Laurens. However, the daddy issues are real.
I don’t know if Lafayette went to France for more funds and came back with more guns, but Laurens certainly did! Ben Franklin told him to chill, but he actually got super impatient and ended up supposedly disrespecting and maybe kinda threatening the court, demanding what he needed, and walking out. They were were kind of shocked and impressed into giving more than had been requested. Any existing deities bless John Laurens. I love him.
Lafayette actually nominated his own aide to lead the charge and Hamilton appealed for himself and Washington finally gave in to Hamilton.
Laurens was not in South Carolina. When he finally got back from France, he was sent to Yorktown. He actually was commanding the group Alexander led. (Power couple lol) He also helped with negotiations after the battle. Also, supposedly making the British play ‘The World Turned Upside Down’ on their way out was Laurens’ idea because boy is made of sass and spite.
Henry Laurens would not have sent a letter to Hamilton about John’s death. Even if he would have, he couldn’t. At that time, he’d been locked up in the Tower of London as a prisoner. We have no idea when or how Alexander found out, or who might have told him. We know he wrote to Nathanael Greene on October 25 and Lafayette on November 3 (literally 2 months after Laurens' death), and the mentions of Laurens were very short. It’s thought that he really couldn’t talk about Laurens. People have compared it to the stories of how Benjamin Tallmadge apparently couldn’t hear Nathan Hale’s name without crying.
After Yorktown Alexander resigned and John went down south to flush British troops out of the southern states. His group was ambushed at Combahee River and he decided to charge instead of wait for backup and he died. Many people think it was a combination of his usual recklessness, suicidality, and glory-seeking mixed with a desperation with the war coming to an end. It was such a small skirmish. He deserved better. He left his daughter, Frances, whom he had never met, orphaned, as her mother had died months earlier from sickness. She was adopted by John’s oldest younger sister, also coincidentally Martha Laurens (though married was Martha Laurens Ramsay).
The Levi Weeks case was years later than that, in 1800, though it was alongside Burr. Hamilton actually lost his first trial as a defense lawyer and was not with Burr.
The whole conversation where Hamilton proposes Burr help him write the Federalist Papers is fake. Lin made that up entirely.
John Church’s wealth kinda...varies. He was a gambler. At first, he was actually in quite a bit of debt. He did make it big eventually and he and Angelica moved to Europe. He really didn’t seem to be a lot of fun to most people, but Angelica eloped with him. She chose him against her father’s wishes. I don’t get why Lin kept writing lines saying she didn’t love him, at least at first. He also does this in the cut song Congratulations where she says “I languished in a loveless marriage” bish you eloped wat She also lived as a socialite and was adored by anyone who met her apparently, so like???? da fuq Lin. Didja really do Laurens dirty for these lies or at the very least uncertanties? Could you not prop up that romance without making her say she hates her husband?
Act 2
More of a personality miscommunication. Irl Thomas Jefferson was shy, quiet, and hypersensitive, nothing like how Daveed plays him. If you knew a guy like the real Jefferson in real life you might be endeared to him out of pity or because he seems sweet, but in the short time of a musical that would immediately be read as cold and unlikable. So the best way to portray “this guy is a likable asshole” is to make him loud and made of sass which is what Daveed does magnificently. So, not at all accurate to real Jefferson, but gets the concept of him across.
Thomas was not off getting high with the French. Probably. He was making negotiations for the Revolution. And abusing Sally Hemings (his, at the time, 14 year old slave, who was also his sister-in-law, and 30 years his junior, and was brought along to entertain his daughter). And actually probably chatting up with Angelica!
By the time Philip was 9, he had two sisters, Angelica (7) and his foster/adopted sister Frances Antill (6), but he also had two brothers already, Alexander Jr. (5) and James Alexander (3), with maybe another one on the way since William Stephen would be born next year.
The whole comma thing is backwards. It was Angelica who made the initial mistake. Hamilton pointedly and flirtatiously teased her about it before closing it with “Adieu ma chere, soeur” French for “Goodbye my dear, sister”. So it’s more playful and less lovey dovey in context, so the tone is all wrong. It’s not romantic, it’s teasing and snarky.
Say No To This feels like it’s over quick. The affair lasted a year, not just the summer Eliza was away.
Clermont Street wasn’t renamed until many years later.
I don’t know that Alex has always considered Burr a friend. Irl they weren’t as close, and Hamilton was keenly aware of how slimy Burr could be.
Lafayette was NOT fine. He was imprisoned a lot during the French Revolution, the poor man, and many members of his wife’s family were killed. HOWEVER! Hamilton was not just sitting by. Angelica and her husband did make an attempt to rescue Lafayette, and the Hamiltons fostered Lafayette’s son Georges Washington Lafayette (yes that was his actual name). So Hamilton also did not forget Lafayette.
Not all his defendants got acquitted, obviously. Stop being cocky, Ham.
People comment on how Jefferson whines about Hamilton’s fashion sense while literally dressed in violet velvet. The original plan was to have him in browns, but Daveed is just such a friggin star that they just had to give him something brighter and decided to go with a Prince-inspired look. Originally the browns were going to be representative of his supposed representation of farmers. Though note here: Jefferson’s agricultural representation is much the same as modern Republicans’ rural representation. More for show.
Actually, let's get political for a sec. I've done some research in my hyperfixation and in searches for Hamilton shiz I've ended up stumbling into far-right nonsense and I know how to recognize the degrees of nonsense from years of actually paying attention to it now because this is what I do apparently. Which is weird, right? Lin kinda portrays him like a lefty. Well, here's the thing. Any proud historically educated Republican will tell you that their roots are in the Federalist Party. Which is technically true. What they will neglect to mention is the flip between parties that happened when the Republicans decided to use southerners racism to their advantage in elections. Being subtly racist can get the racists and the non-racists on your side! Yeah, it's gross. Federalists are more like Democrats. The corporatists. They clearly care more about companies and Wall Street, but they put actual action into social progress on rare occasion. Democratic-Republicans are like Republicans, conservatives who don't want social change and rail against it and pretend they aren't for corporate interests while being just as bad as the other guys. But Republicans have a tendency to rewrite history to paint themselves as the good guys, or reclaim things that aren't theirs as their own. Just look at the Civil War! Or...literally just...America I guess. Yikes. But yeah, here's your warning. Don't just go looking at and trusting things labelled Federalist. It likely won't be friendly.
John Adams didn’t fire Hamilton, Hamilton left. Eventually. And this is not the only time this kind of verbal confrontation happens, and not the one that destroys the Federalist Party. That actually happens after the Reynolds Pamphlet. But John Adams hates Alexander Hamilton with the burning passion of a thousand suns and really kinda earns this.
I’m not sure if he specifically called Alex a Creole bastard but I wouldn’t be surprised, there were other similar racist and bastard-related insults. You know the tomcat thing mentioned above. He started the rumor of the affair with Angelica. He accused him of being a rake (male version of whore at the time). He also may have behind closed doors accused him of being a sodomite. His (probably gay) son Charles helped with that one, bringing back rumors from a dinner he had with Hamilton (who he was working for) and John Church because Church joked about Alex being fond of a guy. Adams probably thought working for Hamilton was what made his son gay and alcoholic (Charles was an alcoholic and may have died in part because of that; Hamilton was not an alcoholic, but he supposedly could not hold his drink. He was smol).
Jefferson, Madison, and Burr didn’t accuse Hamilton of speculation. It was James Monroe, Abraham Venable, and Frederick Muhlenberg. Lin wanted to keep consistent representation of the Democratic-Republican party. But anyway, the whole thing went to hell because Monroe sent the letters to Jefferson (or I’ve also heard Monroe gave them to Madison who sent them to Jefferson) who, the spiteful gangly fucker, started spreading rumors because fuck Hamilton, amirite? Hamilton challenged Monroe to a duel over that. And who stopped this duel? Aaron Burr. He gets to be the good guy now and then.
It wasn’t just total strangers that got Alex off the island. He was sponsored by his cousin Ann Lytton and his teacher Reverend Hugh Knox. Also, he was kind of expected to get an education and come back and help out the island...guess what he never did. Oops.
This one I may be wrong, but I’m pretty sure. I think Eliza was upstate with her family when the Reynolds Pamphlet was released, away from Alex. I also know she had recently given birth to their son, William Stephen. A lot of people think Alexander had been keeping that in mind. Eliza had had a miscarriage once before, when she was under a lot of stress and alone and with the kids and he had to be away (Whiskey Rebellion), so some people think he made sure she was surrounded by her family and waited until the child was born to drop this on her, and gave her distance from him if she needed it. At least he knew he fucked up, and he really did love her.
Those weren’t Alexander’s guns. They belonged to John Church.
It was quite some time between Philip’s challenge and the actual duel.
Another age miscommunication; Eacker was 27ish and Philip was 19 when the duel happened. There was a whole 8 years between them!
Eacker didn’t shoot early. Actually, both of them stood staring at each other for a really long time doing nothing. But Philip went to make a move and Eacker shot him.
Alex and Eliza had made up from the Reynolds Pamphlet bullshit before Philip died. When he passed, Eliza was already pregnant with the son they would also name Philip in honor of his older brother.
Hamilton wasn’t really the deciding factor in the election of 1800. But he did say that about Burr and it did help swing the vote somewhat. But also, this was before Philip died. Philip died in 1801.
If a vote is that close, you can’t win in a landslide??? That’s not how words work???? Mister Miranda????? You are a writer??????? Sir???????
Burr actually held a term as Jefferson’s Vice President.
The Burr vs Hamilton Duel was in 1804 and was actually about another election and other things Hamilton was saying about him. Burr was running to be governor of New York and lost but heard about Alexander telling people the things he listed Alexander saying in Your Obedient Servant.
Thayne should not have played Alexander’s doctor. Sydney should have played Alexander’s doctor. Do you know why? Philip and Alexander had the same doctor when they died. Alexander took that doctor with him to the duel. His name was David Hosack.
While there’s evidence to suggest Burr experienced immediate regret (he stepped forward as if wanting to see if Hamilton was okay and supposedly asked after him and wished him well before Alexander passed) in the years that followed, until he was on his death bed, he expressed nothing but neutrality or even pride for having shot Hamilton. The ‘the world was wide enough’ comment could plausibly be entirely made up, and even if it were true, it was supposedly said toward the end of Burr’s life. Burr's life was quite a ride after Alex. He tried to make like his own empire out of Texas, and then of course was tried for treason, but he got out of that, but then everyone hated him for that ON TOP OF already hating him for killing Hamilton, so he had some crazy journey around Europe for a while. He kept a journal, writing entries like letters to Theo. The most notable things I think he writes he'd "been amused for an hour with a very handsome young Dane. Don't smile. It is a male!" which implies maybe Theodosia knew her dad was bi and was at least amused by it? And he spent a while living with Jeremy Bentham, who is generally accepted to have been gay (if you want more Burr gayness look into Jonathan Bellamy and Robert Troup. Troup knew Hamilton too!). Unrelated to his sexuality but I find it important, Burr spent, in modern cash, $40 on a coconut, in his own words, "like an ass." He returned to America eventually. I dont remember if it was before or after his foreign adventures, but his beloved grandson (also named Aaron Burr) died, and then not long after, Theodosia was lost at sea on her way to visit her dad. No one knows what happened to her. It's so sad. Anyway he married a wealthy widow named Eliza, spent all her money on charity, and died the day their divorce was finalized. And Eliza Jumel's divorce lawyer was Alexander Hamilton Jr..
Poor Eliza couldn’t go through all of her husband’s papers. Her son, John Church Hamilton, finished the work for her when she no longer could and put together the biography that inspired Chernow’s that inspired Lin’s musical. (He named a son Alexander and a daughter Elizabeth. He even named one of his sons Laurens! Aw.) And we have come full circle.
The End :33
There’s probably more but that’s what I’ve got. Thanks for reading!

Unless otherwise specified for a certain fandom, a request yields one romantic pairing AND one friendship pairing as well as information on why I think you work well with the individuals I choose. Of course, if you only wish to receive either just the romantic matchup or just the friendship matchup, just let me know!
You can request matchups for several different fandoms at once! For each fandom you request, I will match you up with one romantic partner and one friend unless you request differently.
You can ask to exclude any character(s)!
Where can I request a matchup?
Requests can be made in the MATCHUP REQUESTS/ASK ME ANYTHING tab.
What do I need to include in my request?
Required
Fandom(s)
Your gender and/or pronouns
Your sexual orientation and/or preferences
Description of personality
Optional (but definitely helps me out!)
Description of appearance
Hobbies
Personality alignment (Myers-Briggs, Enneagram, Hogwarts House, etc.)
What you would look for in a partner and/or friend
Any other information you think would be helpful – the more you provide, the more I can work with!
Now with that out of the way, onto the fandoms!
Listed directly below is a shortlist of all the fandoms I take requests for as well as some extra information as needed.
Disclaimers
If a title is in italics, it means that while I feel comfortable providing matchups for this show, I have not watched every season. If a character drastically changes after a certain point, I may not be aware. The last season I watched of these shows will be included in parentheses.
All movies/shows based on novels will most likely focus on the on-screen adaptations of characters.

Stargirl 1.12 “Stars & S.T.R.I.P.E. Part One” is out now on DCU and I’m here to talk about it.
We’re in the endgame now folks, the beginning of the end. This week begins to two part season finale of Stargirl, but fear not! We know for a fact that a second season is on the way, and our own Brec Bassinger (Courtney Whitmore) has been posting about “returning to work” recently, which to me implies that said second season is already underway, but who knows. Considering how seriously I’ve taken this show all season, you’d think I’d be keep better track of these things.
Ooooh a big old “previously on” for the first time in the series, what fun. I always love it when they mix up the method, throw in a little flavour. What fun, what fun. Always the rhythmic beeping during the opening DCU cinematic, could’ve been a fun way to do some fun reveal, but alas. Beyond that, it really does feel more and more like Brainwave is actually the one in charge (which I think I brought it up last week) and the plan really gives some crazy colonizer vibes, especially with all this “our secession” talk. Maybe somebody with a better understanding of crazy colonizers can confirm if my mind going there is right or not. But I love it when we open up on this kind of drama. I really appreciate getting to pretty much start out with Tigress being a badarse professional and Courtney finally getting the chance for a rematch. Pat & Sportsmasters fight is also nice but not quite as impressive as the ladies, though I will say I love how casual Sportsmaster is the whole time, and then Mike shoves a fucking drill in his back like a King. And we get to follow more of Tigress & Sportsmaster clearly being enhanced individuals without the show ever really saying it.
We finally get a second to catch up with another one of these ISA legacy kids in Isaac, and it honestly looks like whatever upset him is going to end up a much bigger than it actually it. But hey, at least we finally get to see Principle Bowin being a fucking crazy bitch, and Isaac giving a menacing look over at his tuba, interesting. A season two antagonist perhaps?
I love how the entire fam & the Starsquad has assembled together at this random arse cabin seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Love that for them. We already know most of the finale is taking place in Dr Ito’s lab, but there is no way we aren’t getting an action set piece in this cabin. Way to good a location for a fight.
I’m a big fan of this little confrontation being Henry Sr and Cindy. Cindy tries to be her usual ice queen shit and Henry Sr really just does not fucking care. He’s having none of it. But it’s great to get a little bit into the minds of both characters here. And then we follow it with the great reveal of Dragon king’s machine, which, okay, I’ll admit, it looks pretty cool. Pretty standard Cerebro looking shit, but still nice. This show never lets you forget how fucking awesome it looks, the visuals are always on point. Brainwave is such a high and mighty “people are evil” kind of person for someone who literally killed his own son two weeks ago.
I’m really happy that we’re at least starting to get Yolanda’s reaction to Henry Jr’s death. I think it’s a perspective we really needed to see but we literally haven’t seen since his actual death. It’s just a little line but I’m hoping it means we’ll get to see more later this episode or next. And a little bonding between Sir Justin and Rick, always good to see. If Sir Justin is going to stay around for the future with the JSA, then we need to get in some bonding time with him and the rest of the team. And speaking of more bonding time, time to for a scene with Courtney & Mike. I’m glad Mike knows now, and I swear to god if they fucking kill him in the finale I’m going to lose it. Gods, could you imagine if Mike touched the Staff and it worked. I don’t think Mike has any kind of history as a hero but I’d love it if next season or a future season gave him a chance to be part of the team, either as a full hero or as the Starsquad’s tech support. Some additional development between Barbara and Pat is also appreciated. It’s refreshing to see a show with a man who actually loves and cherishes his wife, who admits when he’s wrong, who actually acknowledges that lying to her was wrong and clearly regrets it.
Ope, with what we’ve see, I’m super not surprised that Tigress killed Bowin. These guys are so fucking protective of their kid.
I really love this new tech in the goggles. Or not new per-say, but it’s the first time we’ve been shown it. I do like how Courtney has really casually stepped into the leader role, even Pat is really letting her take control here. She determines the teams, makes the plan, the whole deal.
Gotta say, I’m surprised and maybe a little upset that we didn’t get an action scene in that cabin. Would’ve been an awesome place for one, as I said earlier.
It is kinda funny how the ISA’s big evil plan is to legitimately introduce a bunch of good shit. I really love Rick’s “are you sure we’re on the right side” line, great stuff. If only they weren’t mind controlling the entire country into it, and it’ll result roughly 25% of the people they try and control. I gotta say I love how the whole “we’ve got 30 minutes” is subverted. We’ve certainly had these plots with the finale battle beginning too late, but that doesn’t make it less fun to see. And I love the beginning of a fight between Courtney and Pat to end the episode.
As I said at the start, we are in the endgame. This is it. One last episode. Next week we return with the final battle in Stargirl 1.13 “Stars & S.T.R.I.P.E. Part Two” and with only the four kiddies left to fight back, it’s going to be an explosive ending, that I’m sure of. I wonder if the show will be meta and only give the first 30 minutes of the runtime to allow the Starsquad to win the day, and leave the other 11~ for all the wrap up. You know how much I love those kind of meta moments. Anyway that is it for me and I will see you all next week.

The Once & Future Queen Pt.1
Tumblr media
Enchanted Forest. Past. King Leopold's Palace. (Regina sits alone weeping, looking down at the ring Daniel gave to her.) Regina: (Softly:) "Daniel." Henry Sr: "There you are. I've been looking all over for you. How are you enjoying your new home?" Regina: "You mean my new prison." Henry Sr: (Sighs:) "Oh, Regina. (Sits beside her:) It doesn't have to be." Regina: "I lost everything, Daddy. My love, my future. (Places the ring on her finger:) My happiness is buried with Daniel." Henry Sr: "You still have a future, Regina. You're Queen, that's every girl's dream." Regina: "No, it was mother's. My dream was to love, Daddy. True Love! And now it's gone." Henry Sr: "The King is a good man. Kind. Fair. You can learn to love him and his daughter Snow White." Regina: "No, I can't. I will never love again. And no one will ever love me.”
Storybrooke. Present. (Regina is seated on a park bench lost in her thoughts. Henry sits beside her not saying anything, just simply being there for his mother.)
Tumblr media
(Seeing Alice approach from a distance, Henry gets up to meet her.) Henry: "Hey." Alice: "Hey. How's she doing?" Henry: "Inconsolable, as you can imagine." Alice: "Poor thing." Henry: "Yeah." Alice: "Look, I know this is going to sound insensitive and selfish, but do you have any idea how much longer she expects Zelena to look after Maria? I mean I get it, Zelena offered and loves looking after her, but with Maleficent gone and Robin pretty much in charge of the bar, she really needs her Mum's help. I’m there as much as I can be but, I love my job at the library and I'd hate to have to give it up." Henry: (Nods:) "I got it, don't worry, I'll talk to her. I should've stepped up sooner. Maria's my sister after all. I'll take care of it." Alice: "Thanks, Henry. (Looks over to Regina:) Give her my love, won't you?" Henry: "Yeah." (Henry heads back to his mom as Alice walks away feeling somewhat guilty.) The Dragon's Lair. (While Zelena rocks Maria in her arms, Robin works on her new drinks menu.) Robin: “There, finished. Do you want to try something from the new ‘Wanderlust Menu’? It's inspired by all the best drinks I had on my travels.” Robin Hood: (Leans over to look:) “Impressive list.” Zelena: (Also looking:) “Oh, is that an Indian drink I see?” Robin: “It is, and it's made with real rose petals. It'll blow your mind. Such a beautiful country. They have these sprightly trees called Arunchal Hopea. They went extinct nearly 20 years ago. People thought they'd make good fence posts.” Robin Hood: “That's terrible. But that's what people do. They destroy things. Having lived most of my adult life outdoors, I can honestly say there's no greater pest than humanity.” Robin: (Snorts:) “That’s odd coming from a legendary champion of the people.” Robin Hood: “Wrong Robin Hood, my dear. I believe you’re thinking of your father.” Robin: “Hm.” Zelena: “Speaking of fatherhood, don’t you think I look wonderful with a babe in my arms? Kinda makes you think, doesn’t it?” Robin Hood: “Uh... not really.” Zelena: “Oh come on, don’t you wonder what our child would look like?” Robin: “Um, hello?!” Zelena: “Oh, yeah. Sorry, darling.” (Robin shakes her head then goes to hang up the new menu.)
Tumblr media
Swan-Mills House. (Ella opens the front door and finds Drizella and Anastasia standing there.) Ella: “Anastasia. Drizella. What are you doing here?” Drizella: “I'll tell you what I'm not doing. (Points to a box at her feet:) Carrying that any further.” Anastasia: “We found some old stuff of Cecelia’s that we don’t remember. We though maybe some of it belonged to you.” Drizella: “If you want it, you can take it.” Ella: (Steps aside to allow them entry:) “Come on in. It's nice to see you two.” Drizella: “We would’ve been here earlier, but I just carried a box full of stuff to your doorstep.” Anastasia: “Oh, calm down. I offered to magic us here.” Drizella: “Yeah, right and give you a chance to show off to Ella? Make sure she chooses you as her favourite sister?” (They walk towards the kitchen.) Anastasia: “Hey, I found the box to begin with. Didn't even get a thank you.” Ella: “All right you two, no one’s playing favourites. So, why are you really here? To talk about Mom?” Drizella: “Hey, we’re your family. You remember, that thing you were so desperate to find? Do you even care why we’re here?” Anastasia: “We came to see how you’re holding up. You know, it's been a week now since Emma disappeared.” Ella: (Dryly:) “Really? I hadn’t realised.” Drizella: “Woah, okay, tap your brakes, Ella. We get that you’re still processing.” Anastasia: “You gained two sisters and lost a mother-in-law on the same day. It’s a lot to wrap your head around.” Drizella: “Especially since you accused your other mother-in-law of murder.” Ella: (Smiles, despite herself:) “Yeah, well, everybody has problems.” Drizella: “Exactly, so quit wallowing in self-pity and take a look through this box we brought you. (Knocks the lid of the box off:) There could be something in here to cheer you up. (Pulls out a ragged looking doll:) Like this thing, for example.” Ella: (Stares at the doll:) “It...It’s Beatrice. (Reaching out for it:) I never thought I'd see her again. I can’t believe she kept this.” Drizella: “I figured she was second hand. I just had no idea she belonged to you.” Ella: (Pulls Drizella into a hug:) “Thank you, so so much.” Anastasia: “Our childhood seems like so long ago. Almost like another world.” Ella: “Mm. Exactly like another world in my case.” Drizella: “So, what does a girl have to do to get a drink around here?” Ella: (Wipes her eyes:) “Sorry, what would you like?” Drizella: “Well if we’re going to talk about the past, we’d better make it something strong, right?” Anastasia: “Drizzy, it’s eleven in the morning.” Drizella: “Right, which means it has to be five o’clock somewhere.” Enchanted Forest. Past. (Tiger Lily and Mulan discuss their options while Emma walks ahead of them.) Tiger Lily: "We could contact the Fairies, there's a good chance Blue and the others might have some ideas." Mulan: "I thought the time-travel spell had never been done before Zelena? Surely if the Fairies knew anything about it they'd spend most of their days going back in time to fix things." Tiger Lily: "That's true, but they could still help us." Emma: (Stops walking:) "We're not asking the Fairies for help. (Turns to face them:) Not only did they ruin Rumplestiltskin's life the moment he was born, but they stood by and did nothing while Regina's life crumbled around her." Tiger Lily: "But you-" Emma: "No! You above all know how the Fairies work. It's because of your actions that we ended up being stuck here in the past! If you hadn't taken Morgause away to be raised by the High Priestesses-" Tiger Lily: "Then Uther would've killed her." Emma: "And so this is better?!" Mulan: "Emma..." Emma: "We're trapped here in the past not knowing where or when we even are! And I've already been through this crap before!" Tiger Lily: (Calmly:) "I know. Which is why I'm not worried." Emma: "Of course you're not! You don't have a family waiting for you back home! You don't have a wife you love more than the air you breathe or a daughter you promised never to spend a day of her life away from!"
Tumblr media
Mulan: "Hey! (Steps between Tiger Lily and Emma:) Back off, Emma. You're not the only one with someone they love back home, all right? Screaming at each other isn't going to achieve anything other than attract unwanted attention. So why don't we all take a moment to calm down, then think of a way to get us home." Tiger Lily: (Sees a carriage approaching:) "Quickly, hide yourselves." (The three women hurry from the roadside to duck behind some trees. As the carriage passes, a familiar face stares out from the window.) Mulan: "Who was that?" Tiger Lily: "King Leopold." Mulan: “Leopold?” Emma: (Amazed:) "My Grandfather." Tiger Lily: "Well, at least that gives us some idea of 'when' we are." Mulan: (Stares back to see the spires of the palace behind them:) "The Dark Palace. Do you think Regina's in there?" (Emma stares hopefully back at the palace, momentarily excited by the thought of seeing some version of her wife.) Emma: (Shakes her head, determined:) "Well if she is we're not going anywhere near her. I won't jeopardise our chances of returning home to our timeline by seeing Regina here in the past." Tiger Lily: (Smiles supportively:) "Good thinking. Since you've been in this situation before, we'll follow your lead." Mulan: "Agreed. So where should we go?" Emma: (Takes a moment to think:) "We head into town. We need to put as much distance between us and the palace as possible. Then we can find a place to eat and come up with a plan. I'm starving and can't think on an empty stomach." (With that, they continue down the long dirt road, Leopold's carriage fading into the distance ahead of them.) Plains of Denaria. Present. (A cloaked figure struggles to pull a horse cart along a dusty road. Four nights approach on horseback.) Sir Leon: “Halt! (The cloaked woman stops:) Stay where you are. (The woman sets down the cart handles as the knights dismount, Sir Elyan among them:) Where are you headed?” Woman: “The Seas of Meredor.”
Tumblr media
Sir Leon: “What’s in the cart? (The woman says nothing. Sir Leon motions for the other knights to search it and the woman finally turns around:) Lady Morgana.” (Morgana uses her magic to throw each of the knights to the ground. She looks around, pulls off her hood and pulls down a blanket in the cart.) Morgana: “Are you alright?” Morgause: “Yes, thank you, Sister. But we must hurry. Night is nearly upon us. (Morgause turns her face towards Morgana, revealing a hideous deformity to the right side of her face:) And we still have far to go.”
Tumblr media
Camelot. Council Chambers. (Sir Leon and Sir Elyan ride into the square and report to Guinevere and the Council.) Sir Leon: “The reports are true, Your Majesty. We caught up with Morgana on the Plains of Denaria.” Guinevere: “Was she alone?” Sir Elyan: (Shakes head:) “There was someone else.” Guinevere: “Morgause.” Sir Elyan: “We couldn’t be sure.” (A man speaks from the shadows.) Agravaine: “Where was Morgana heading?” Sir Leon: “To the Seas of Meredor.” Lancelot: “Isle of the Blessed.” (Agravaine steps into the light.) Agravaine: “I’ll send out patrols at first light.” Guinevere: “Thank you, Agravaine.” Sir Leon: (To Agravaine:) “Sire, you should know her powers have grown. Sir Bertrand and Sir Montague are both dead.” Guinevere: “Keep me informed of any developments.” (The councilmen all bow and exit. Agravaine and Lancelot remain.) Agravaine: “We knew she couldn’t stay hidden forever. Mustn’t live in fear, Guinevere. Camelot is strong. If Morgana were to act, we’d be ready for her.” Guinevere: “You’re right, of course. I’m grateful for your counsel as always, Agravaine.” Agravaine: “I made a promise to Morgana’s mother that I’d always be there for her, but this path she’s on now... The only way to save her is to purge Morgana of this darkness that has overtaken her soul.” (Guinevere nods and exits alongside Lancelot.) Seas of Meredor. (Morgana helps Morgause limp out of the cart in the foggy wood.) Morgause: “The Isle of the Blessed. (Morgana helps Morgause to the dock. A ferryman waits for them by a longboat. He holds out his hand. Morgause places a coin in it:) You know where we wish to go.” (The sisters huddle in the boat, the ferryman at the helm, as it glides across the sea.)
Tumblr media
The Enchanted Forest. Past. (Tinker Bell and Regina walk down an alleyway. They stop outside of a tavern.) Tinker Bell: “Inside here, lies the beginning of your happiness. All the pain in your past will be just that. The past.” (Tinker Bell walks to a window.) Regina: “I just need a moment.” Tinker Bell: “You’re nervous. I get it. But look! (With his back turned to them a man is sitting inside:) That must be him. (Regina steps in to take a look at him herself. The man raises his right arm so that a waitress can refill his cup. A lion tattoo can be seen on his right arm:) The guy with the lion tattoo.” Regina: (Doubtfully:) “That’s him?” Tinker Bell: “The Pixie dust lead us to this tavern and it never lies. Come on, who else could it be? This is your chance at love and happiness. A fresh start. No baggage. You can let go of all the anger that weighs you down. Now, get him.” Regina: (Takes a deep breath:) “Okay. Okay, I can do this. I can be happy.” Tinker Bell: “I know you can. Go.” (Tinker Bell leaves. Walking back down the alleyway, she stops at the sound of her name.) Tiger Lily: “Hey, Tink.” (Tiger Lily steps into the light.) Tinker Bell: “Tiger Lily? What are you doing here?” Tiger Lily: (Smiling:) “It’s a long story. Come, we mustn’t be seen here.” (Tiger Lily leads Tinker Bell down a side street and out of sight.) Meanwhile... (Regina hesitates a moment longer outside the tavern, then opens the door. The man with the lion tattoo rejoices with a group of other men, sharing a drink with them. Regina watches the scene for a moment, then with overwhelming fear, she closes the door and flees. Regina rushes around a corner and bumps into someone, knocking them over.) Regina: “Oh! I’m so sorry, are you all right?” Emma: (Staring up at her, eyes wide, panicked:) “I... (Gulps:) I’m fine.”

Once Upon A Time Rewatch: 1x18 The Stable Boy
Tumblr media
Gold, that plan is so darn evil. But also, rather clever. I know he wanted Regina to help him but I can’t help feeling there was more to his scheme. Why did he truly kidnap Kathryn? Was he working with Jefferson again to ensure that Jefferson kidnapped MM? I mean, how else would Jefferson know she escaped to the woods if someone like Gold hadn’t planted that idea in her head? And of course, he would want Emma to come across Jefferson in the woods as she searched for her friend in order to get the Saviour to start believing.
Wow Cora. I wouldn’t wanna get on the wrong side of you. She doesn’t treat Regina like a person. To Cora, she’s just an object she can use to live vicariously through.
“I’ll stop using magic, when you start being an obedient daughter.” Cora, you can’t control your daughters every move. That’s insane!
Okay that “please I’ll be good” hits close to home pretty strongly. It can’t have been easy growing up with Cora.
Young Regina is so sweet and innocent. Poor kid.
I’m glad David’s taken time to think over whether MM would hurt Kathryn like that. MM could benefit from a visit with him, so she’d at least know he thinks she’s innocent.
MM must be so confused as to why Regina would set her up like that and revel in her pain.
Horsey! Horsey! I want horsey!
Firefly hill! That’s the place to be when you wanna go on a date. It sounds so romantic.
Daniel, you have no idea what you’re saying!! Cora gone kill you! Don’t tell her!
The actress who plays young Snow is literally Ginny.
Sidney, you double crossing…!!
King, Dude, Regina don’t wanna marry you!
Henry Sr. shaking his head at the proposal and then Cora saying “yes” for Regina- I mean, didn’t the King think it was weird that Regina didn’t agree to it herself? Surely, he recognised Cora from all those years ago. Maybe he forgave her or simply forgot about her.
The look of horror Regina has! I don’t blame her. I wouldn’t want to marry the King, or any King for that matter, especially if I was in love with someone else.
Run away Stable Queen! Run for your lives!
Let them be happy!!
Imagine being in Snow’s position, she’s ten and to her it looks like her father’s fiancé and stepmother to be is having an affair with some random dude.
The casting department must have sacrificed so many virgin goats to get this young actress, who looks so much like Ginny and has Snow’s mannerisms!!
Snow’s so understanding, wanting Regina to marry someone for love.
I was Snow as a child, couldn’t keep a secret if my life depended on it. And it came close to that a few times.
August: “You know, when I get struck by a block, I usually reread what I’ve done, rather than plow ahead blindly. Sometimes, I find there’ll be a little nugget of inspiration left behind.” Emma: “You mean start over?” August: “I mean, when I start writing, I usually have one idea. And then, in the middle, I may get another idea, and things are different.” Emma: “So, your perspective changes.” August: “Exactly. When you started this investigation, what was it about?” Emma: “A missing person.” August: “Then, it became a murder, and then a cover-up. If you knew that then, maybe you would have approached things differently.” I love these quotes! I try to heed this advice in my real life. If I had known what something would become when I started, how would I have done it differently? August be so wise.
Emma is looking at the book for answers!
I love how comfortable August and Emma are around each other.
Cora is so manipulative. I love her xD!
Don’t trust her Snow!!
Poor kid just doesn’t want anyone else to lose their mother and Cora’s pretending to be a loving mother.
Regina’s extreme hatred for MM must seem so crazy to Emma. No wonder she’s looking at the book! Without their story in the book, it doesn’t make any sense why Regina would hate MM so.
Poor August. He didn’t do it y'all!
“I’m not a liar.” Says Pinocchio, the liar who lies.
That scene with MM and Regina in the Sheriff’s office is awesome! Regina’s malicious streak coming out in full force, her chilling delight at MM’s suffering. MM having no clue why Regina’s behaving this way and then Regina admitting that she knows she didn’t kill Kathryn while stroking her cheek and grabbing her face in mock-sympathy. So intense!!
Oh shoot, oh shoot! Cora is terrifying.
Regina: “It’s my life.” Cora: “Oh, you foolish girl. It’s mine.” Wow, Cora.
People like Cora should never have magic in real life xD.
Poor Daniel. He had so much faith that it was okay to tell Cora.
And now poor Regina has lost her love, hope and happiness.
Cora what happened to you to make you like this? Or are you just like this??
Cora looks like she’s just lost all the bananas in this scene. She’s so obsessed with living vicariously through Regina and, therefore, ensuring that Regina becomes queen, that she can’t see that what she’s doing is insane! I know she hasn’t got her heart at this point but Jesus Christ!!
She doesn’t want to be queen!! Don’t you get it!!
That moment where Regina learns that Snow told Cora about Daniel and then turns around!! I always believe that that was the moment everything changed- that’s when the Evil Queen started to rise within her.
That was a clever evil plan Cora, making Snow’s horse go wild like that.
“We got her, Daniel.” Regina can’t even see anymore that (at least from what we know of) Daniel, he would never want Regina to take out her anger on Snow White or anyone for that matter. But I still believe that Regina’s transformation into the evil queen has to do with so much more than just Daniel’s murder. I think his death was the final straw, but I think the Evil Queen had been bubbling up and trying to come to the surface for a long while. I think it has more to do with Cora’s treatment of her and because her father didn’t sufficiently protect her, the Evil Queen persona began to develop. She’s a broken reflection of her mother.
I find it so interesting that Regina refuses to take out her aggression on Cora, but rather, takes it out on Snow. Is it fear? Or a misguided sense of loyalty? I think the real culprit is love. Despite her mother’s treatment towards her, Regina still inexplicably loves her. She doesn’t want to hurt Cora at this point. That’s probably unthinkable for her at that age, but she needs to redirect her anger somewhere.
Why didn’t Mr. Gold set Kathryn free sooner? Maybe I’m forgetting something.
Oh yeah, nearly forgot Sidney planted the bug. That’s how Regina knew about the evidence! I had absolutely no idea who it was for a moment!
Stop traumatising Ruby! She must have thought that was Kathryn’s lifeless body. That gives me the shivers.
Oh my God! Poor Kathryn didn’t deserve this!! What did Gold do to her other than drug her?? This is so messed up!!

a love letter from yandad! brainwave based on the ask: where readers parents force her to cut the kings out of her life, due to them seeing their unhealthy obsession with reader?
Tumblr media
(Name),
Those “parents” of yours have no idea what they are doing by trying to cut Henry and I out of your life. Things wouldn’t have to get to the level they are now if those fools just minded their own business.
I knew I should have taken care of them sooner rather than later, but now there is no excuse. I need to step in and set them straight.
Be ready by 6:00 pm, on the dot. Henry will come by your old residence to pick you up and bring you to our home; your new home.
By the end of the night we will finally be a family. No more obstacles left to get in the way.
Your Father
H. K.
