DROWNING - A DAMIARK FAN ZINE
Tumblr media
Hello, TBS Fandom!
For (I believe) the first time in this fandom's history, I will be hosting a zine! This one will be catered to my specific tastes, but I may make more in the future with different themes if it goes well!
The theme is simply "Damiark", the ship between Damien and Mark from The Bright Sessions. Feel free to explore a wide range of ideas within this topic! If you need something more specific, look to the title- Drowning can mean lots of things, and lead to very cool imagery.
Ideas for things to submit:
Fanart
Paintings
Short-Mid Length fanfic (Around 1000 words or less)
Poetry
Playlists/Song Lyrics
Collages
Photos
Prints
Comics
Character Discussion/Meta
Etc!
These ideas are just suggestions, if you have something different to submit, send me a DM and I'll let you know if it'll work!
Please submit your pieces through this link:
The submission deadline will be January 1st, 2024. We will be slightly flexible, but please have your submissions sent in by then!

hi!! a new bmc zine isn't something i expected to see, especially in 2024, but i am SOOO into it :D! this musical has been a special interest of mine since around 2017, so to see new things happening in the fandom is always exciting :]
anyway, i have a question about zine submissions that i'd just like a more direct answer on: do submitted pieces have to be canon-relevant, or can they be of an AU if they're recognisable enough?
– @twoplayergame
Hello! Thank you for sending in an ask :))
I’m super excited to see people getting hyped about this zine!!! Everyone keep the energy for MARCH 15TH!!!
The answer is: YES!! I’m taking all submissions as long as they are SFW. I cant think of anything SFW that I won’t be accepting, as I’d like to include as many submissions as possible!
I’ll be sorting it by 2D art (collage will be included in this section), 3D art, writing (of any kind! Fanfic, poetry, character analysis, etc!), and cosplay!
Please let me know if you (or anyone else) have any other questions!

🦄🧜‍♂️ Q&A Sep. 20 🐉🧚‍♂️
Question: Hi!! I was wondering if there will there be an equal distribution of fanfic writers/poets accepted, or does it depend on the submissions? Answer: Hello! The number of poets accepted will depend on the number of applications and how well everyone scores in voting. Because of this, we cannot give a definite answer. Thank you!
Question: If you look at your carrd there’s no mention of poets until the application section. How do you intend to use the poets? How many are you taking on? Answer: Hello! We offer the section on poets just in case anyone skilled with poetry would like to apply. Poetry in zines is more uncommon, but we offer it for anyone interested. How many poets we take on will depend on how many apply, if any. They will be considered a writer, and will write poetry as directed in the guidelines.
Question: For writers, you’re only accepting 8-10 but you’re creating three sections of the zine (sfw, nsfw, dde). How many per section are you accepting? Or will you ask for volunteers from the 6-8 writers to create additional pieces? Answer: We are accepting 8-10 writers, with the intention that some will create for more than one work. This happens in many zines, where writers and artists will create for mulitple sections! Everyone will have an assigned section, but the other sections will be open to all to contribute!
Question: So when you say poets count as writers, does that mean that they’ll be apart of the 8-10 you accept? (Ex. 3 poets means 5-7 writer spots left, and of those 5-7 they may be asked to write 2-3 pieces each?) Answer: Hello! If poets are accepted, they will count as the writer count. Poets will be required to do 2 separate poems for their assigned section. Thank you!
Question: if you have guests when will they be announced? so excited for this zine! Answer: Hello! We have a spectacular lineup of guests, soon to be announced!! Keep your eyes on our socials; you never know who might show up!!
Question: Will creators you assign to multiple sections be compensated more for their additional work? Or will the profits be split evenly? Answer: Hello! All profits will be split equally.

FAQ & GUIDELINES
FAQ
1. Who can participate?
ANYONE interested in creating/receiving Nirvana in Fire 1 & 2 based fanwork is welcome to participate. Be aware that spoilers will ABOUND so if you haven’t finished the series, proceed at your own risk.
2. How does the Exchange and Claiming Process work?
In 2017, the Mods matched participants up based on the request prompts and the offers submitted. We received feedback from quite a few people who wanted to be free to claim the prompts they liked.
In 2018, we will try the CLAIMING format of gift assignment. This means that instead of mods divining your matches, you will be able to claim your top three preferences for gifts you want to create, to help us along. The exchange will still be anonymous.
This is not an absolute guarantee you will get the perfect assignment, because our job is also to ensure that every participant receives a gift. Shuffling MIGHT occur depending on how claims pan out. But please be assured we will do our utmost to ensure everyone‘s preferences are fairly considered and that everyone gets an assignment they enjoy.
3. What kind of fanworks are permitted?
This exchange is open to ANY AND ALL CREATIVE MEDIUMS. We only ask that your gift be a completed original transformative work created for your giftee. We want to encourage participants to be as creative as they like. Any fan, no matter their skillset, should be able to participate if they so choose. Ideas of mediums include but are not limited to:
Fanfic, Poetry, Fan Translations, Podfic, Fanart, Crafts (embroidery, modelling, cosplay, dolls, jewelry, etc), Manips, Fanvids, Gifsets, Fan Music, Games, etc.
4. I’m inspired! Can I include more than one medium in my gift and make it multi-media?
Abso-freaking-lutely!!! The only limit is your imagination. And the time… and your recipient’s preferences…
5. What’s the minimum requirement for my gift?
We are trusting all of you creators to use your judgement in this.
As a general guideline:
-1000 words minimum for fic
- 10 minutes minimum for podfic
A lot of other mediums are hard to put a clear measure on. Your general guideline is to produce a completed, standalone work of a quality that you would be happy to receive yourself. If you have doubts/questions/concerns, please talk to us.
6. How will posting work?
All works will be posted to the Archive of Our Own and submitted to our NIF Exchange collection. If you do not have an AO3 account, you can submit it to us by email and we will post it under a mod account.
Non-fic mediums should be embedded or linked in an AO3 post as well (refer to this AO3 ressource). Let us know if you run into any trouble and we’ll help you find a solution.
FURTHER SUBMISSION INFO (SUCH AS THE AO3 COLLECTION) TBA.
7. What about NIF2?
Nirvana in Fire 2 has finished airing this year and as part of the larger NIF Fandom, it is also included in this exchange. We encourage everyone to try and include a mix of prompts from both series if possible. If you haven’t seen it, don’t worry!
 GUIDELINES
1. Please be respectful. We are all here to have a good time and no one wants to feel attacked (except by feels).
2. This is a gift exchange, which means you must produce a gift for someone else. Please consider your schedule, and whether or not you reasonably will be able to finish creating a gift in the given time frame, before signing up.
3. We understand that life happens. If at any point you feel overwhelmed or unsure about delivering the gift by deadline, PLEASE TALK TO US. This is a zero judgement zone. We would prefer it if you talked to us early and requested an extension or defaulted rather than stress out and not be able to deliver on deadline. Let’s give our pinch-hitters a chance to work their magic. This is for fun. If it’s causing you stress/guilt/bad feels, something’s not right and we want to help sort it out.
4. If you have any questions for your recipient, please email us at [email protected] and we will forward them for you. Please do not contact them yourself as it will spoil the surprise.
5. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!!

[Prompts Challenge] Round 18: May 2020
Hello, hello, and welcome one and all to May’s Prompts Challenge. We’re back again for some fanfic fun. Unlike the daily prompts, the goal is to write one longer fic based on one or more of the theme prompts here, to be finished by the end of May so we can all have a good read of them in June!
Minimum word count: 1000 words Maximum word count: 6000 words Deadline: 31st May
Whenever you are done, post on FF.net or Ao3 if you wish. You don't have to wait until the deadline, though don't go linking it in /r/fanfiction until the deadline has hit, since we all want to get an equal chance and reading up on your works.
A posting thread will be provided a day before the deadline is up.
All participating fics will be collected in a showcase that'll be up for the entire month of June here on the sub
There will also be an AO3 collection to add your fics to!
Change to the rules: Although we still encourage you to get the fics finished by the end of May, and we’ll only be promoting the posting thread throughout June, the thread will remain open for late submissions and so will the AO3 collection.
Without further ado, the prompts!
Poems
The other form of art built with words! This month we’re thinking about experimenting with poetry. Whether you write up your very own poem, get inspired by a specific poem, write in iambic pentameter, or have your characters engage in an epic haiku battle, we’re going to borrow a little inspiration from our sibling poet-authors this month.
Note – if you actually do write a poem as your Challenge fic, the 1k minimum wordcount is waived. I’m not going to make you write an epic poem for your submission.
Random Trope
I couldn’t resist bringing this one back since it was so much fun last time. PM me, poke me on the discord, or comment here and I will give you a random trope from the TVTropes site!.
Don't generate them for each other, please. Picks will come from me. You'll get them within 24 hours of asking (so if you don’t get one after a day, it means I forgot or missed you somehow – feel free to poke me again!).
Mayday, May Day!
Since today is the first of May, I thought it would be fun to include a little play on words here, haha. ‘Mayday’ is used to signal life-threatening emergency situations and May Day is a traditional European spring celebration! If you’re using this prompt, pick one of the two meanings and start scribbling away! Feel free to combine the two if you can come up with something that fits, too.
Outside
Many of us are currently in lockdown or quarantine at the minute. This is a difficult time, stuck inside for much of the day, missing many usual markers of our daily routine. So for this prompt, let’s find some escapism in writing something from outside our usual lives. Right now, that could even be a normal work commute, but you could also take inspiration from nature or something much more outside (har har) the box. Go wild and get creative! If you do write something directly related to the current COVID-19 situation, please remember to tag it so people relying on fic for their own escapism can avoid it :)
Any questions? All you have to do is ask! :D

Problematic Ship Support Group (P.S.S.G) Project is now recruiting and open!
Hello! If you’re seeing this on your dash already, that means you were following billdip-is-neato!
Unfortunately, some stuff came up and one of the mods was removed. The other two mods simply got caught up in school and work! I have no excuses, only that I’ve been contemplating this project for a while!
What is PSSG-Project?
It’s a charity blog for people who constantly feel invalidated about their ships! Charity how!? You might be pondering on how such a blog could exist, and what it would be providing the practically nonexistent ship tags.
Simple! My goal is to gather volunteer artist who are willing to draw ship art for the masses, to help keep their tags full of positive post! We accept more than just regular drawings though, we also accept music, poetry, and fanfics! If there’s a medium you’re unsure of be sure to ask me~
Who runs PSSG-Project and is it free?
It is 100% Free! Like I mentioned, it’s a volunteer project to spread ships and art into the tags! Since it is volunteer, there will of course be a bit of waiting! This also means I sadly can’t pay anyone- so it’s up to those who just have the freetime and goodwill!
As for who started the foundations for PSSG?
Technically, the entire idea was started up by a few mutuals on my personal blog! There was no art, not even rough art- in their ship tags. I just can’t stand seeing someone so disappointed!
It won’t take you much snooping before you find out my main blog and my art blog, but I don’t think I’ll mention it here! Feel free to refer to me as Purple though!
Can I join PSSG-Project, and if so, How? Do I have to become a moderator or just use the submissions box?
Easy my friend! Just send a message or an ask explaining you want to be a contributor and moderator for the project! Of course, I’m a bit wary in just giving blog information out- So we’d have to start through something else!
Submissions: Feel free to submit any art or works you want to give the fans! If you’re too shy, Feel free to email it to me and I’ll post it!
You can help from your own comfy blog: Of course- you’re welcome to join the movement from the comfort of your own blog! Simply tag pssg project, or @ me here on the blog to reblog!
Ask: Simply send in an ask with some ideas or request if you are unable to contribute anything yourself~ It’s still your idea buddy!
Are There limitations and rules to what can be requested?
This question is a bit complicated. Mostly because if any of you choose to join, they might change artist to artist!
Some artist are uncomfortable drawing certain things, and other artist have no quarries! I fall under the prior I’m afraid.
Whilst i’ll never judge anyone or their ships- sometimes I am unable to draw them- or I am unable to draw a scenario or fetish.
NSFW is permitted, but in my case- I’m a bit uneasy with inflation, vore, bathroom kinks, foot fetishes, diaper fetishes etc. I’ll have to make a full list later on.
When Will you post?
Usually, I’ll begin posting in tags i find depressingly unpopulated if It involves my ship- but otherwise, Whenever I receive a request- There will be an upload within 2-5 days of it! This may change if this project gains traction however.
This is all I can currently think of, so I’ll submit this in the hopes the idea catches on! Please help us start our movement!
