In regards to this post: https://www.tumblr.com/blooddrop-palace/734096149977432064
I can’t choose a favorite story of yours, it’s like asking a cat lady who is her favorite cat! But I can narrow it down to:
Checkmate Pattern (alternate dmc1, read 4x, I think),
Sons of Fortune (royalty-ish au my beloved, read 5x?),
Hell Froze Over, and We Shall Reignite It (new demon species & lore, read 3x?),
Scales, Feathers, and Eggshells (*squee* baby 3/4 devil Nero & Dante/Nevan ship, read 4x?),
What is a God, to a Father? (yay Nero & Sparda interacting, read 3x?)
I LOVE your writing and wish you a wonderful day!!
I am SO happy to hear that you like to re-read my works! (And apologize for having slow updates this past year.)
I love re-reading fics. And truth be told, I re-read my own works as well. <3 I do so not only to enjoy them, but because it helps me to analyze my own work, remember what I liked about it, and if I do find anything I feel I could do better, I make note of it.
Mmmm while I'm halfway through writing the next chapter of Hell Froze Over, I should probably work on Sons of Fortune soon. I'm supposed to shake things up a little with that's going on with the Sparda Family and the King Family.
Ah, Scales... actually been agonizing over a little haha. Christmas stories are super hard to write for me since it's not a holiday I have close ties with... I've redone the draft about 7 times now, and I need to settle on something cute so that I can move on into next spring. Next spring means something fantastic is going to happen soon!

For the fic asks;
2, 3, 4, 7, & 9 for Hell Froze Over, and We Shall Reignite It if it ain't too much :D
Not too much at all! And thank you for being a reader of my work, despite how long it takes for me to update all my projects!
2: What scene did you first put down?
The first scene was a scrapped scene that was meant to be the start of the first chapter, where it was written from Sera's point of view as she met Vergil and Dante in the underworld. But I felt like that was a very weak opening, and I also decided that, despite how important the OCs would be to the story, the focus still needed to be about the DMC Cast. It needs to be the DMC Crew's story, enhanced with the OCs that are added to the story. Anything to be learned about the OCs need to have meaning and impact to Dante or Vergil or Nero or any of the other canon casts, otherwise I might as well be writing an original story. Most of that first scene that I wrote was scrapped to be re-written in order to make their first meeting fit better into the flow of the narrative. The one major part that was kept, was Sera's dialogue to the twins about how she felt a need to go back home, even though she cannot remember why.
3: What’s your favorite line of narration?
There is honestly so much that I like about the results, and really, one line of narration pales in comparison to a fully put-together scene. Still, this one line for the ending of a chapter, I think, holds a lot of merit: And then Dante was punched right in the nose.
4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue?
Again, it's so hard to choose when the whole of a scene tells so much more than just a line of dialogue! But I think this one is a good one, from Dante to Vergil, with all the irony in the (under)world: “Chill. You don’t have a niece. But, if you did, I’d be telling you that you’d have to endure all of her whims, including any ribbon disasters the follows.”
7: Where did the title come from?
Titles are often such a hard thing, and I try to be poetic with it. I need it to be appealing but also serve as a summary of some form of overarching idea, or plot, or maybe even an emotion of the story. In this case, I've decided that one of the many themes of story will be how even when despair visits, when something comes to spell certain doom, there will always be defiance against it. But hope is not something that comes easily. It's difficult in the face of despair. A lot of what Dante and Vergil will have to face in the aftermath of everything in DMC5 will not be easy, and I've added additional burdens and obstacles to their path forward. Among all of this, I've also given both of them the difficult matter of: what decisions to make when faced with the woman who had, against your knowledge, bore you a child who is not only all grown up now, but also such wonderful people whom you wish to love but is afraid to love, because everything you've touched in life would often go up in flames, and much of your interaction with family always seemed to be riddled with pain? There's the question of, was there ever love between them? Can there be love between them? My answer is: there can be, but they will need to choose to ignite that flame. So, with this being about devils, I took into account the setting, the trials, the harshness of their reality, and also the age old analogy of passion and strong emotions being a flame to be kindled... And came to the title: Hell Froze Over, and We Shall Reignite It Nothing is more powerful than a declaration of determination in face of uncertain odds.
9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?
Well, in terms of potential first drafts? I did not have any other "beta versions" of this fic that was revised. However... I absolutely have what-ifs, and I have written a number of them. Related specifically to Vergil and Sera, however... Incomplete as it is, Sons of Fortune is my what-if that includes the exploration of how Sera and Vergil could come to be together through a less spur-of-the-moment circumstance, and instead, how they will recognize that they do make a good match... among many other things, chiefly being that this is a story of what if Eva survives and took the twins to Fortuna. The Tower In Reverse is a story of what-if Sera, after falling into the Underworld not long after having Nero, finds Vergil after he fell from the tower, and in meeting him, she saved him from Mundus, thus forcing Vergil to confront the fact that he has a son he must meet as he returns to Fortuna with her. But then, what if Sera found Vergil after he fell from the tower, and she did not succeed in saving him? What if they both landed in the palm of Mundus? What would happen in the years she's trapped down there with Nelo Angelo, up until Dante goes to Mallet Island? That would be the story of Checkmate Pattern. And in regards to Dante and Kassy, or more importantly, his lovely daughter that I've written for him: Snow. What if he got to raise her with her mother in his life? Well, that would be my little one-shot Blessings of Family series, where it's one part me wanting Dante to have a happy life, but another part is me wanting to write a supportive family that would exist to help Vergil after he comes back to them. I have a few other AUs going on, also. Feel free to check out my Ao3 that is linked in my pinned post in this blog. There is ONE story I have in my head going on that I have not finished writing to publish, however, and that would be the "what if Dante and Vergil switched places?" Effectively, what that means, is that Dante and Sera would be the couple in question, and they would have a daughter by the name of Noel. I have two stories written about Noel, but the story of Dante and Vergil's situations in incomplete. As for my stories about Noel... well, I will admit... that was me wanting to write about Credo.

Hell Froze Over, and We Shall Reignite It
Chapter 8: The Threads Connect
Chapter Summary:
There's a lot going on in everyone's minds right now. An odd time for deep shower thoughts, or thoughts while waiting for pasta to boil, or thoughts while sitting alone in the lounge waiting for everyone to show up.
Despite how urgent their task was, when you need to take things one step at a time, sometimes each step felt like an agonizingly small distance.
This family seems to never be fated for a simple reunion.

Six Sentence Sunday
From Chapter 7 of Hell Froze Over, and We Shall Reignite It
(I think this was seven sentences again but oh well haha.)
I can feel it, here, but not here. Almost like there’s something in the air but I just can’t cut through…”
“Cut through, huh… Damn, wish I still had the Yamato on me.”
“You have the Yamato?” Snow gasped, but her attention had to remain on the fight.
“Had. Vergil took it back.”

Six Sentence Sunday
So I apparently had a little bit of work stowed away that I can share this Sunday, despite having updated a fic already. Have a cute snippet from the next chapter of  Hell Froze Over, and We Shall Reignite It.
This is pretty much right after Roy told Dante “sorry I’m about to punch you.”
Though bleeding profusely from the nose, Dante grimaced briefly as he set his nose back in place before the healing kicked in, and wiped away as much blood as he could off his face, before grinning: “That’s a mean punch you’ve got there, but my nephew hits harder than that.”
Though Vergil did feel a moment of… something, warm, in his chest, from hearing that, he couldn’t help but scoff: “You could have dodged that, foolish little brother.”
And Roy, hearing what was clearly meant to be an insult, simply narrowed his eyes and smirked, as he raised his fist and showed that he was able to manipulate the crystals on his body to manifest about the knuckles: “You want another to compare?”

A question about Seraphina. So her right arm is the one which infused with the devils' arm right? So how does it affect her day to day life? Does it hinder her holding a kid or something?
Hi! Thank you for your curiosity! <3
Actually the Ophidian Duet is on both her arms! When not in combat mode, it doesn’t get in the way as much, though she’s worried the blades that wind up and around her forearms could still hurt a kid, so she only picks them up or hold kids when she has a thick long-sleeved jacket or coat on.
And even though later Nero’s healing means less worry, she would still rather not hurt her kiddo when she holds him.
In terms of day-to-day life, it somewhat prevents her from wearing long sleeves unless she wants to rip them in an emergency. She also can’t wear rings or jewelry about the hands and wrists, and she tries not to wear delicate things because the corners/edges of the metal on her arms could get caught on things. And she can’t wear gloves at all. So winters suck for her. She can kind of get away with oven mits for the kitchen, at least. But she’s started to not give a damn and just armor up her hands with the Devil Arm to grab hot things out of the oven, etc. Sometimes she regrets it. :'D

Hell Froze Over, and We Shall Reignite It Chapter 6: Unconditional
Summary:
There's a lot of information to sort through. A LOT. Nero's already making his own head spin with his thoughts, and there was still stuff that Snow needed to tell them.
Meanwhile, Dante is doing his best impression of a curious puppy, peppering Sera with questions. But it wasn't entirely a bad thing... Vergil had to admit, he didn't know everything about Sera, either, and this was a good way to pick up some information that he had once thought of as not-important.
Or, learn about important information, regardless. Because Sera still had one last important memory to recall.

Teaser for -Hell Froze Over, and We Shall Reignite It- Ch2
Soooo Animal Crossing arrived as I was in the middle of doing more for the chapter 2 draft. I’m currently at 6k words and I feel only about halfway done. I’m also carefully leaving time for me to go back to the draft and make sure everything is perfect, so in other words, I am making steady progress but I am also working at it patiently. (Rewrote two whole paragraphs last night, and rewrote another today...)
In light of the fact that this weekend I have a new game to play (and I need to spend some time with my husband), I didn’t want to wait until Sunday to post a WIP update, so have some very short little snippets that I’m very happy with. Enjoy!
He had to ask.
‘Snow. Please don’t get mad at my next question.’
‘I’ve risked so much already. I’m prepared for your questions.’
‘What are you and your family?’
He was anxious of her answer. He set his phone down beside him and brought his hands to his face, letting out a tired sigh.
“Well?” Nico pressed.
“Hold on. Give her a bit.”
He thought he was going to wait a long time. He was wrong. The phone pinged after a scant few seconds:
‘I have a counter-question prepared. Nero, why do you hunt demons?’
---------------------
Vergil examined her shoulder wound again. “It’s healing, but slowly.”
“Not quite enough blood…” She muttered abashedly.
“Then you may have more. If those fangs of yours can break skin, then use them.” He presented his arm to her again.
Sera was certainly shocked by this. “You would let me actually bite you?”
“Would you prefer I cut the vein open myself for you again?”
“I…” Her protest died at the tip of her tongue as she changed her mind: “No. Thank you. I’m just… taken aback, is all. You are…” She seemed lost in thought as she continued softly: “You are as generous as you are ethereal.”
Vergil’s expression remained impassive, but Dante shifted on his feet uncomfortably as he watched Sera open her mouth, her canines elongating just enough to bring down into the vein in Vergil’s arm.
The younger brother ended up turning his head to examine anything but the scene in front of him in interest. Logically speaking, it didn’t have to be Vergil. She just needed demon blood to survive on until she got out of hell. Dante could have offered, too.
Except this wasn’t just about her needing the blood anymore, was it?
---------------------
“Hey, Snow.”
“Hello Nero.” She sounded tired, and anxious. She waited for him to speak.
“I thought about how I wanted to answer your question, and… I wanted to ask you: do you know why the business is called Devil May Cry?”

3 & 4 for Reignite the Flame!
Thanks for the ask!
Ooooh boy these are hard! There’s a lot I like when I go back reading my stuff. I’ll try to choose something good!
3: What’s your favorite line of narration?
A gift from moonlight Pale and bright, Falls upon a bloom.
From ethereal beauty Forms an untold story, Woven with remnants of you.
And may this tale’s life Be made of joy and delight, With sweetness and spice; Chasing away the bitterness That comes with strife.
May it reach you someday Like the golden sun’s rays...
For you to reflect with warmth and pride.
Opening poetry to my chapters could count towards narration...? This is one of my favorites. It is quite literally a poem that Sera writes after finding out she’s pregnant, and she knew that she had absolutely no real promises with “V” about meeting again. She’s distraught over the fact that she had no way of telling him, and she’s not blind to the fact that “V” clearly hasn’t had a lot of happy experiences in his life. She didn’t mean to hold so much hope to see him again, but with these developments, she really did wish he’d come back someday. She already believed it won’t be for a long while though, and truly imagined that it wasn’t going to happen until her child was at least a few years old, if not older.
4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue?
“I mean, who knows? You grew an arm back. We don’t know everything about demons an’ stuff. You might’ve been like a starfish-”
“Okay, stop. Stop right there. I’m not… what the fuck, Nico. Why would that even cross your mind?”
Seriously, Nico pulling Nero’s leg and implying he could be a weird clone was one of those moments where I felt: THIS. This feels like perfect Nico and Nero banter!
Also, not going to lie, I have entertained the possibility that Nero was a total lab experiment of that sort. Lord knows what Fortuna had stowed away that were remnants from when Sparda was there... combine that with whatever samples someone could have stolen off of Vergil, it’s a pretty plausible kind of thing to explore. Cloning does not produce an exact copy, after all--
Okay, I used to read a lot of research from things like National Geographic and whatever science journals I followed. I’ll stop rambling there, lol.

Hell Froze Over, and We Shall Reignite It
Chapter 2: Family Ties
Chapter Summary:
If there is a key, then there must be a door.
There are questions about the key's last-known owner. There are still questions about Sera, herself. But beyond that, Dante still has questions swimming in his head regarding his own brother, now more than ever.
Meanwhile, Nero works at breaking the proverbial ice. Can he trust Snow? More importantly, can he get Snow to trust him? The first part of a job often means getting to know the client, after all.

Chapter 4:  White Flame, Black Ice
[Double Update because I wrote too much, so you get two chapters! Chapter 3 is already up!]
Summary:
There were a lot of assumptions that popped up. But you know what they say... Nero didn't want to make an ass out of himself by guessing wrong. So, it was time to hear what Snow had to say. After all, if what he's seen so far has been any indication, he wasn't going to do what Dante did to him, and not say anything.
Speaking of Dante, he might be the kind of sap who gets teary-eyed at romance movies. Because he's really digging the whole idea of Sera and Vergil, the more he watches them interact.
Oh, and apparently Sparda had a pen-pal.

Six Sentence Sunday
It’s been a while! I realized this Sunday that I definitely won’t have something ready to release, so it’s time for previews. I’ve been busy trying to hash out smut for the “side one-shot” so Chapter 5 has had only 4900 words hashed out so far (which is actually roughly half of my chapter quota!) Have this enticing little snippet regarding a major conversation that is about to happen in Chapter 5 of Reignite!
The presence of the scar, along with what memories she had now, made her run hypotheticals with scarily depressing answers.
Worse yet, how was she going to address any of this with V? (She rather liked thinking of Vergil with the moniker she had chosen to call him by.)
Neither conversation seemed like a pleasant one to have. It was either a conversation about a child that did not survive, or a conversation that she might have abandoned their child somewhere.
There was also the matter of uncertainty over what he would think of said child’s existence, past tense or not.

Reignite Ch. 5 Preview!
(And by preview I mean... I snuck in time during work to write the opening poetry from Seraphina’s “collection.” This one is not from collection in the back of the book. Also I absolutely hate the lack of formatting control I have in the mobile app...)
A gift from moonlight
Pale and bright,
Falls upon a bloom.
From ethereal beauty
Forms an untold story,
Woven with remnants of you.
And may this tale’s life
Be made of joy and delight,
With sweetness and spice;
Chasing away the bitterness
That comes with strife.
May it reach you someday

Chapter 3: Bonds of Blood
Summary:
Rest before the storm is hardly ever restful. The ground that needed to be covered seemed to go past a horizon that was barely visible. Where do blood ties end and begin?
Family.
That word is never simple.
It’s both the blood that is shared, and the bonds that are forged.
Dante wants to see that in his brother and the lady knight. Vergil isn’t certain he knows how much he can share. Nico didn’t think family was complicated: it was a title anyone can earn and lose. Nero, meanwhile, can only think of one thing right now: Why can’t his family situation just be simple for once? And that’s without factoring in Snow’s complication.

Six Sentence (Not) Sunday
In drawing fanart all day yesterday, I forgot to prepare something for Sunday. Whoops. So have this on... Monday. =P
From the draft of Chapter 3 of “Hell Froze Over, and We Shall Reignite It.”
——————
“Dante.” Sera spoke evenly and louder than the previous whisper. “Does your devil blood also allow you heightened hearing?”
“I decline to answer that, Angel!” That was anything but a ‘no.’
“Then at least do a better job pretending you’re not hearing what isn’t your business.”
