Entwined by Heather Dixon
Just when Azalea should feel that everything is before her—beautiful gowns, dashing suitors, balls filled with dancing—it's taken away. All of it. And Azalea is trapped. The Keeper understands. He's trapped, too, held for centuries within the walls of the palace. So he extends an invitation.
Every night, Azalea and her eleven sisters may step through the enchanted passage in their room to dance in his silver forest, but there is a cost. The Keeper likes to keep things. Azalea may not realize how tangled she is in his web until it is too late.

Wanted to share this! It’s a set of three blog posts by a storyboard artist I’ve been following since middle school (?). She breaks down the Delsarte principles of physical expression, and it’s a GREAT resource for some on how to use gesture and pose to express your character’s emotions in a stylized way.
There are no hard and fast rules, but this has some useful and helpful ideas! Especially if you want to put your subjects in more interesting poses, this might get some brain juices flowing

I have to say, Entwined (Heather Dixon Wallwork) wasn't impressing me at first but as the book's progressed it's really getting my attention. Good emotional core with the family, nice threat-level on the villain.

HEATHERS SWEEP HEATHERS SWEEP.
Hannah, INEZ, and KAYLEIGH??? AND they’re mixing up the alt tracks again????
Also the dance captain isn’t the super swing this time and there’s only one, wonder how these changes will affect the costume assignments.
Also I fucking KNEW Natalie Pilkington was gonna be the next universal swing, I wonder if she’s gonna wear her black costume again.
Super excited to see what these new queens bring to their roles!!!

Azalea did not care for that old silver-mottled tea set. Several hundred years ago, before Eathesbury had streetlamps and paved roads, the palace had been magic. The reigning king, the High King D'Eathe, had gone mad with it. He magicked the drapery to twine around servants' necks and trapped unfortunate guests in his mirrors, never to release them. Azalea's ninth-great-great-grandfather, Harold the First, had overthrown him, but still pockets of magic remained in the palace. The old tea set was one of these. It even had a pair of sugar tongs that snapped at the girls' fingers if they wanted more than one cube. The girls called them the sugar teeth, and Azalea guessed they were quite as evil as their creator had been.

The Problem with RHOP and its OGs
Tumblr media
How did it come to this? It was as if it was written in the stars that RHOP was the new It show.
RHOP was the show at one moment in time, with Nicki freaking Minaj acting as co-host at the reunion.
The Reasonable Shady episode from season 6 is an episode I can keep on rewatching, and still find it comedy gold.
But this season wasn’t as entertaining as the show normally is.
It certainly hasn’t been fun watching Gizelle Bryant and Ashley Darby accuse Eddie Osefo and Chris Bassett of cheating when they’ve got no proof to support their claims.
And when Robyn Dixon went on her Reasonably Shady podcast to admit that Juan Dixon had recently cheated on her, basically, it all became very clear to me.
These seasons has been a cover up.
Robyn and Ashley didn’t want to talk about their private life, their real life, so they flooded the seasons with false allegations.
Maybe it’s Juan and Michael Darby that denies them of showing their authentic selves, but that’s no excuse in my opinion.
Just like I have a problem with RHOBH, I now have a problem with RHOP as well.
Just like the Fox Force Four, the OGs of RHOP get together to conjure up some scheme to control the narrative.
I’m not the biggest fan of Gizelle. In fact, I view her as a villain most days. But I know that she’s good TV.
While I’m annoyed with her facial expressions when drama is going down, I enjoy her when she’s talking smack and gossip about others.
Like her detective mode with the Jacqueline Blake situation, but unlike other times, there was an actual (and strange) mystery here.
But what I don’t tolerate from a housewife, is lies. That’s why I’m no longer a fan of Porsha Williams or Heather Gay.
Gizelle has been the producer’s good little pet.
But how does it feel to see that neither the producers nor the editors are having your back, but in fact are doing everything they can to clear Chris’ name?
The game is up.

Any suggestions for authors like T. Kingfisher? I'm almost finished reading all of her books and am worried I will never find another author that scratches the itch the same way she does. Any genre is fine, but my favorites are her fantasy books (particularly the Clocktaur series).
