DP x DC: The Most Dangerous Card Game
Ok so Danny has essentially claimed earth as his. And he is fully aware that there are constant threats to the planet. Now he can’t stop a threat that originates on earth (that’s something he’ll leave to the Justice league) but he can do something about outside threats. Doing some research on ancient spells, rituals, and artifacts, he cast a world wide barrier on the planet to protect it from hostile threats so they cannot enter. This will prevent another Pariah Dark incident. However, barriers like this come at a price. You see, there are two ways to make a barrier. Either make one powered up by your own energy and power (which would be constantly draining) or set up a barrier with rules. The way magic works is that nothing can be absolutely indestructible. It must have a weakness. The most powerful barriers weren’t the ones reinforced with layer after layer of protective charms and buffed up with power. Those could eventually be destroyed either by being overpowered, wearing them down, or by cutting off the original power source. No, the most powerful barriers were the ones with a deliberate weakness. A barrier indestructible except for one spot. A cage that can only be opened from the outside. Or that can only be passed with a key or by solving a riddle. So Danny chooses this type of barrier and does the necessary ritual and pours in enough power to make it. And he adds his condition for anyone to enter.
Now the Justice league? Find out about the barrier when Trigon attempts to attack, they were preparing after he threatened what he would do once he got to earth. How he would destroy them. The Justice league tried to take the fight to him first but were utterly destroyed, so they retreated home to tend to their injuries, and fortify earth for one. Last. Stand. Only when Trigon makes his big entrance…he’s stopped.
The Justice league watch in awe as this thin see-through barrier with beautiful green swirls and speckled white lights like stars apears blocking Trigon and his army’s advance. The barrier looks so thin and fragile yet no matter how hard the warlord hits, none of his attacks can get through and neither can he damage said barrier. That’s when Constantine and Zatanna recognizes what this barrier is. Something only a powerful entity could create. For a moment, the league is filled with hope that Trigon can’t get through yet Constantine also explains that it’s not impenetrable. And clearly Trigon knows this too for he calls out a challenge.
And that’s when, in a flash of light, a tiny glowing teenager appears. He looked absolutly minuscule compared to Trigon and yet practically glowed with power (this isn’t a King Danny AU though).
And that is when the conditions for passing the barrier are revealed. And the Justice realize that the only thing stopping Trigon and his army from decimating earth. The only way he can get through….is by beating this glowing teenager in a card game.
Not just any card game though. The most convoluted game Sam, Danny, and Tucker invented themselves. It’s like the infinite realms version of magic the gathering, combined with Pokémon, and chess. And Danny is the master. So sit down Trigon and let’s play.
(The most intense card game of the Justice league’s life).
After Danny wins, this happens a few more times with outer word beings and possibly even demons attempting to invade earth, yet none have been able to beat the mysterious teenager in a card game. Constantine might even take a crack at it and try to figure out how to play. He’s really bad though. Every time this happens, the Justice league worry that this might be the time the teenager looses. Yet every time, he wins (even if only barely).
Meanwhile, Danny, Sam, and Tucker have gotten addicted to the game and play it almost daily. Some teachers might seem them playing the game are are like ‘awww how cute’ not realizing this game is literally saving the world. Jazz is just happy they aren’t spending as much time on their screens playing Doomed.
#DPxDC#dcxdp#Danny makes a card game to save the world.#Technically he worded the ritual so that they had to ‘beat’ him as those are the most powerful barriers and most reliable.#keys can just get lost or stolen (like the one to Pariah’s Coffin)#A riddle would be useless once someone figured out the answer. Like how no one takes the sphynx seriously anymore.#(Sorry Tuck. But it’s true).#And there is NO WAY Danny is just leaving a hole open for anyone to pass through. No thank you!#So…beating him. But it’s not like Danny wanted to fight so…he edited the ritual a TINY bit. Card games are good. Much less painful too.#Danny Tucker and Sam made the most complicated card game they could imagine.#It’s based on their strategies for fighting ghosts. Capturing them in thermoses. And MUCH based on a on field battle strategy.#It often requires spontaneous thinking on the spot. So Danny? In his ELEMNT. It doubles as practice for his actual ghost battles too.#They had SO much fun making this.#Sam added an entire series of plant cards that act as traps and healing ointments and duds that just take up the field.#Tucker added legitimate hyroglyphics combined with Latin as well as English and ghost speak.#Yes. You actually have to speak that language to play. With proper pronunciation. (Amity Parker’s think the three are talking gibberish.)#I headcanon Sam and Tucker are fluent in Ghost.#Constantine WILL figure this game out SO HELP HIM!#Some of the cards also have combinations related to constellations either in name or placement on the board.#By the way the board is based on a Hexagonal summoning circle with Rhunes along the edges#And the placement of the cards on the board and on what rhune MATTERS.#Also the cards move disintegrate and have certain abilities. Think of Harry Potter Wizard Chess.#But they are normal when Danny plays at school. This is just for ✨effect✨ Against invaders.#Danny faces multiple opponents. He also halts alien invasions.#While Danny COULD stop crime on earth he’s not sure how to fight a normal human and hold back so he sticks to ghosts.#The Justice league are going crazy trying to figure out who this entity is and after deep research are convinced this is some sort of#Ancient being who has protected earth for millenia. They have paintings on ruins and everything.#Danny is not aware they think this.#Raven starts praying to Danny as if he is a god and wrangles the other Teen Titans into doing so as well. Danny is still unaware of this.#Danny is not a King or an ancient. Just a very VERY strong ghost.

i've seen people leaning heavily into the watcher lore say that scar's win was all orchestrated and endorsed by the watchers, that he's their favourite and they wanted him to win and now he can be theirs - but isn't it cooler, doesn't it make more sense if he won in spite of the watchers? they've been trying to fuck up all his plans the whole season, they've done their best to make everyone hate him, and he still came out with alliances at the end. they tried to make him a villain, and he succumbed and embraced it, but still showed goodness in the end when he refused to let pearl sacrifice herself - and that's why he won. not because he did what the watchers wanted him to, but because he went against the big plan and won all on his own merit. he didn't win because the watchers like him, he won because of his own quirks and strengths that he used to his favour. he won because he's scar and he doesn't follow the rules and is simply good enough at the game to win.
i don't know, i just. the idea of everything being under the watchers' control and there being no real free will in the series is an interesting one, but a) as many have mentioned, this is the season of defying curses and character development, and b) scar is not just a toy for the watchers to play with. he's a person and the reason why he won is not because grian or anyone else wanted him to, it's because he's bloody good.

How to cope with a trauma anniversary!
Tumblr media
for some slight context, today is a very awful day for us, we have many trauma anniversaries, and though they seem to never get better throughout the years we have found a way to cope with some things!
Tumblr media
Waking up
waking up the morning of a trauma anniversary can feel jarring, and sometimes at first you don’t realize it’s a trauma day, it’s different for everyone when they may realize! sometimes you can wake up and your body feels heavier, you may feel fuzzy, and gross; although these feelings are awful it’s very important to ground yourself, it’s ok to let yourself feel those feelings but don’t let it overcome you and cause you to spiral. A few grounding tips we have are:
find a comfort item, it can be anything! just something that brings you joy and comfort.
play a song or video that helps you calm down, focus on the beat and try to tap your fingers along with it
wrap yourself in a big blanket, for us personally it gives us a sense of safety when we most need it and it can be you’re safe space
these are just a few and of course there are plenty more you can use!
Tumblr media
Flashbacks
Flashbacks are again a horrible and very painful experience. We also have things called ptsd induced hallucinations, where sometimes a flashback can trigger hallucinations and make life in the moment so much worse. if you experience these as well we have a few tips! even if you don’t experience these you can still use the tips!
reality check your self but not in a negative way, say things like “nothing can hurt me in this moment” “i am safe” etc.
distractions!! I know some people say “distractions won’t help you process through things” no, and a lot of people on a day like this don’t want or need to process anything, we are put in the mindset of trauma responses and are simply trying to survive the day, it’s important to have things that can ease our mind in those moments
comfort food, comfort food or drinks can always help and bring you away from a certain memory into another
calming or nice smells, candles or anything that has a nice sent can help distract the mind and sometimes put you in a different mind set
Tumblr media
Eating
eating or getting hungry can be a struggle, for some they feel nauseous or sick at times during the day, which is completely normal! It is important to try to eat, and again if you can’t that’s completely ok there’s no need to feel shame in it just remember to hydrate and eat when you feel better! some tips to help one feel hungry or eat
Comfort food again!! comfort food can bring one out of a memory sometimes and into a happier or calmer one! and who doesn’t love comfort food!!
watching people cooking! it can sometimes be helpful for someone to regain hunger by watching others cook and plate some delicious looking food
Tumblr media
Sleeping
sleeping can be hard on these days, for us we don’t get much sleep the night of our trauma date, but trust me it’ll make you feel much better.
Water/rain/forrest/wind sounds, they can be very calming and helpful to sleep, for us the forrest is one of our favorite places to be so we can sleep very soundly with noises of the forrest
youtube videos, something calming or funny as background noise can help someone’s mind relax enough to fall asleep
melatonin/prescribed sleeping meds, for some simple distractions won’t be enough so if you’re able we recommend taking something that can help you sleep
breathing/meditation! meditating is known to relax your body and mind also helping you clear tension built up in your body, we highly recommend this strategy!
Tumblr media
though some of these things may not be helpful for some we hope to give people ideas and what personally helps us! remember lovely’s you’re valid, you’re strong, and you are all amazing! please remember to stay safe!!

@cynoglav excellent question. excuse me while i have a category 5 hyperfixation moment.
Tumblr media
this is my #1 favourite comp, which i fondly refer to as “jingled for death”. very lightweight, fast and packs a punch. you get decent healing between arbalest and occultist, good stress healing from jester, high damage output from arbalest and bounty hunter, and you get occultist mostly setting up kills or negating damage. the primary downside is that they’re all a bit squishy (especially poor occultist who has to be in rank 2 to use his stun) so you have to spend a lot of time managing health. however, since they all have high speed, i haven’t had too much trouble with killing, stunning, or debuffing enemies before they can act.
obviously you might want to exchange jester for houndmaster for better mark synergies, but imo they’re very similar units mechanically (dodgy bleed units with a stress heal) and i prefer the buffs+finale to cleaves+guards in this case. it allows for a more offensive playstyle (although I do equip arbalest with bola and jester with harvest to cover the cleaves a bit). since ive been getting more comfortable with using houndmaster though, i might give marked for death another shot!
“jingled for death” was my first endgame comp and they fucking nailed it. it helped that my occultist had a +8 speed boost from the brothel, so he was just marking everything before they even had a chance to react. love you poussin <3 wish you’d stop losing my fucking trinkets in bed though. or getting a speed debuff because you sprained your hip.
Tumblr media
runner-up goes to this comp, which i discovered recently and had an absolute blast with. formally it’s called “bloodbath” but i like to call them the artery obliterators. basically i equip my highwayman with grapeshot blast and a shit ton of accuracy trinkets. everyone else i give damage and crit builds. ideally highwayman gets the first turn to just blow up the first three ranks. then the other three units crit-nuke everything. with hound’s harry AND extra grapeshot blasts, you can crit-check the first 3 ranks in one go. it’s incredibly satisfying and honestly great for stress management. my main concern is the lack of a good spot healer to get someone off death’s door though; flagellant can manage the bulk of healing pretty well, and hellion and houndmaster can save themselves, AND in a pinch houndmaster can guard whoever’s in trouble, but i have trust issues from previous units dying to DOT before I can heal them, so i don’t use this comp too often. just for fun and just for bleed areas
i also recently had a lot of fun with arbalest+plague doctor+flagellant+crusader in crimson court, but i’d have to playtest it in other areas. it’s really fun having so much healing and stress healing available, and the rank access is great.
other honorary mentions: any comp designed for dancers (i love positioning strats so much you don’t even know), leper with revenge and a guard unit (houndmaster and man-at-arms obviously works for negating damage, but antiquarian actually works great for boosting leper’s prot and dodge), plague doctor and flagellant (very synergistic healing and rank access), and jester and leper (power of love)

i'm gonna enforce a week's break from elden ring after i lost track of time and played it for five hours somehow. i honestly expected this game to be more linear, but i'm happy with it not being that, because i love just exploring as much as i can. the starting area looked... standard, for lack of a better word, but places like the crystal mines and the underground river are just beautiful. is there a plot? who knows! i've beaten a few "bosses", but none that felt like they had any connection to the main story.
oh and i'd die for the jar people. kind of just want to live in their village forever

Magical Healing in Triangle Strategy
I'm currently working on a fic, and I wanted to have some clearer rules to play by as I try to make sense of Triangle Strategy's in-world healing system. I mostly made this for myself haha, but thought I'd share in case it's helpful for anyone else!
It's mostly just a breakdown of canon moments and potential implications, along with a more cohesive potential set of rules at the very end. Quick warning for spoilers: I discuss a lot of main plot points.
Tumblr media
Canon Fact #1: Symon's heart-related condition couldn't be cured with magic.
This might imply an inability to fix some of the following:
any physical irregularity that the body naturally develops (e.g. a deformity in the structure of the heart)
long-term injuries (e.g. gradual wear on the heart due to stress)
internal injuries
natural non-traumatic health issues in general
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Canon Fact #2: Lyla is said to be in critical condition and then to be in stable condition relatively soon afterward.
This supports that healing can have an impact pretty quickly. The two above screenshots are more than likely the same day, and seem to be around the same time of day as well. However, we don't know exactly how much Lyla improved (are her wounds completely healed? still pretty severe?), so it's hard to say exactly how fast the healing is going.
While it's unclear what specifically Jerrom is doing, we do know that he's not a magical healer. This indicates that magic healing isn't the end-all-be-all as far as healing goes.
(Though both of those points could also theoretically be handwaved away by assuming they were short on healers post-battle, and therefore couldn't heal Lyla as efficiently as they might like.)
Tumblr media
Canon Fact #3: During in-game battles, members of your party are cured via magic and immediately continue to battle.
This includes injuries related to blades, arrows, fires, ice, lightning, wind, and blunt trauma; it seems like there isn't much that healing can't fix.
That said, temporary status effects (including poison, paralysis, immobility, and blindness), are a different story. There are non-healing spells that remove status effects as well, such as Geela's "Heal What Ails You," but they're uncommon. This might support the idea that these are two entirely different fields of healing and/or that they can't be done at the same time.
Healing appears to be more or less instantaneous, and after a unit is healed, they can continue battling on as if they had never been injured to begin with.
For a more specific time estimate: assuming that the turn system is supposed to reflect an actual battle with everyone moving and doing things all at once, we can say that a healer takes about as long to cast a healing spell as it does for a combat unit to make an attack on an enemy soldier (however long you think that takes).
There are also a variety of different costs to healing. In most cases, healing expends the healer's energy (i.e. TP), but in some cases it uses the healer's own health instead (like Cordelia's "Self Sacrifice").
We also have healing/status recovery pellets to consider. During a battle, they allow non-mages to heal themselves and others just as a mage would. Additionally, Medina has abilities to enhance the efficacy of those pellets, which could potentially mean there are methods of administering them that make them more powerful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Canon Fact #4a: Dragan dies despite a healer being in the same vicinity. Cordelia, however, survives under similar circumstances.
Dragan seems to be killed by an arrow to the back, and no one even attempts to heal him after he falls, despite ample time to do so—he gives an entire monologue before officially dying. Conversely, when Cordelia is stabbed, a healer is called for and she survives. Some main differences between Cordelia and Dragan's injuries include:
The placement of the wound—Dragan might have been hit somewhere that resulted in a near-immediate fatality such as the heart, whereas Cordelia might have been injured in such a way that allowed her more time to be patched together
Roland might have held back upon realizing that Cordelia was the one taking the blow, vs. the archer who was definitely aiming to kill
Cordelia is a healer herself, and might have been able to aid in her own recovery
On a related note, Dragan was caught in an ambush (and might not have had access to any healer but Geela) vs. Cordelia's case, where they were in the middle of a war and likely had access to several healers and/or surgeons. Lyla, for instance, canonically helps out after Cordelia is stabbed on the boat.
General demographic stuff (Cordelia is likely several years younger than Dragan, and possibly has a history of better health since Glenbrook has historically had more access to salt)
They just liked Cordelia more?????
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Canon Fact #4b: Additionally, Cordelia is weak and/or bedridden for at least a few days after her injuries (though due to route-splitting mechanics, she's weak even if she isn't injured, so this could potentially be disregarded as her being exhausted by her captivity, unrelated to her injuries).
This implies that healing can't be done all at once, and gives a better timeline for how long it takes for serious wounds to heal (at least a few days) even with the best of care. The above screenshots are in chronological order for reference.
Tumblr media
Canon Fact #5: Healing can resurrect.
Healing can bring people back from death, with some caveats.
Magical resurrection is only shown to occur at the exact moment of death, and only if the spell is cast preemptively. Someone who is already dead cannot be revived outside of Quietus spells.
Resurrection earrings only work once per round, which might be interpreted as them needing time to recharge between uses (or possibly means that a mage has to recharge them). Likewise, Miraculous Light wipes out most of Geela's magic reserves, making it difficult for her to cast it many times in succession.
Since most normal spells only activate at the point of death, this also has some Ajin-like implications (i.e., that characters with the ability to resurrect might purposefully die in order to heal themselves of a non-lethal wound).
In canon, due to the mechanics surrounding it, Quietus can probably be tossed somewhere in the realm of dark magic and/or acts of god. (The word "quietus" is associated with finality, death, etc., which might support the "dark magic" point.)

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Canon Fact #6: Healing is primarily done with a staff, while elemental magic is done with tomes.
The only exception to this that I noticed is Narve, who uses a staff for both healing and elemental magic.
Because of the consistency of healers having staves, it can be assumed that a staff is either required for healing or otherwise greatly improves efficacy.
Theories
Taking all of that into consideration, there's a lot of different ways you can interpret what exactly is going on. I have two main theories that I play with while writing fic.
Theory #1: Healing as a time distortion
The linking factor between most of these is that magical healing can only heal what non-magical healing can also theoretically heal. Magical healing, then, might just be a speeding up of the body's natural ability to heal (even potentially an actual time spell that speeds things up, which is supported by Geela's "Haste" spell and Quahaug and Lyla's skillset in general).
If this is the case, some potential limitations of magic would be:
It can't heal anything that the body itself won't put to right given time, so it can't cure terminal or chronic illnesses, nor save someone from lethal poison unless an antidote is also taken.
Likewise, it can't heal any wound that would kill someone faster than they could heal (e.g. possibly Dragan's wound).
It likely still requires an amount of non-magical healing techniques (Cordelia and Lyla might have required some sort of physical surgery to repair the damage they sustained). If a healing is performed without arranging things first and then the healing process was sped up, it would theoretically heal incorrectly and cause more harm than good.
It would still leave scars and leave the healed character in need of physical therapy when applicable.
Larger, more serious wounds that would take weeks to heal will take a proportionally long time for magic to fix (at least a few days as shown by Cordelia's bedrest).
Infections and other complications could be an increased danger, assuming that everything is sped up including the growth rate of bacteria. Additionally, if it is a true time spell, then over time excessive amounts of healing would result in an unnatural, sped-up aging process.
Healing pellets/status recovery pellets essentially act as an already-cast spell sealed into a small capsule for use by non-mages, and would have the same effect as the spell that was sealed inside them. Panacea pellets are a little weird because no healer in the game is that powerful, but I guess you can assume there's some healing savant out in the woods somewhere who can make them (and then goes on to sell them for an exorbitant price).
Resurrection magic and earrings are just weird. For the sake of adding some sort of balance to these from a Watsonian perspective, you can always throw in sort of long-term drawback. I like to play around with the idea that resurrections shorten the lifespan/otherwise cost the user something with each use.
Theory #2: Healing as a temporary fix
For plot device reasons, I sometimes want the characters in my fics to be stuck on the sidelines for a few weeks/months at a time. So instead of speeding up healing, I go the opposite route and freeze the healing process altogether.
This theory revolves around these points:
Healing magic can't actually make the body heal, but it can put things back in place such that it heals properly. For example, it wouldn't be able to heal broken bones, but it could temporarily seal them into the right place such that someone could continue to fight in-battle. Same thing with bleeding wounds: it could temporarily stop the bleeding, but it wouldn't actually fix the issue. After the battle ends, both injuries would still need additional medical attention, and would take a normal amount of time to heal.
I usually imagine this requiring about as much attention/expertise as a surgeon would have.
Healing pellets are the same as in the first theory, as are resurrection magic + earrings.
This theory sort of has to work around status effects, since those aren't necessarily fixed by physical surgery-type techniques. For me, I assume that status effects such as poison and paralysis are magical conditions in their own right, and can therefore be negated by magic like Geela's spell (and normal, non-magical poison and paralysis can't be fixed by magic whatsoever). These magical status effects would eventually wear off when the spell runs out of juice, though if left untreated these effects could potentially be lethal.
Related to that, this theory gets complicated with things like burns or frostbite from elemental spells, since those types of wounds can't necessarily be healed by just moving things around. I could argue that a healer could manipulate the tissue on a cellular level, but that gets pretty overpowered the further I push it. (If they can heal damaged tissue from a burn, why can't they manipulate the tissue in Symon's heart as well? Going even further, why couldn't a healer manipulate their own flesh to the point of shapeshifting?) I usually sort of end up leaning on the first theory a little bit and say that it's easier to heal things that the body is biologically built to heal.
In the end, I usually end up using a blend of these two theories, and then pick and choose what I use in any given situation based on what plot device I need (which seems to be what the tri strat writers did as well haha). But it's nice to have some basic rules in place so I can plan around them.

Mari's Surprisingly Early Tera Raid Guide #uhhhlemmecheck6 - Hisuian Typhlosion
Heeeeeey people sorry for the radio silence I've been busy trying to solo the Mewtwo raid (failed)(fuck Nintendo) and then I skipped the Hisuian Decidueye post too because I downloaded the data like in the last 5 minutes, I figured it would be too late to make a guide. Maybe if they run it again.
Anyway! Post-Mewtwo raids all seem too easy. Vaporeon time! (But let me tell you I was considering many many more options that I think would be viable, will reblog if I find the spoons to try something else)
[Beware: I edited the post after some more tries, I found a simpler and faster strategy] Usual reminder that the pokémon I used for this guide is available to borrow for free to anyone who asks (Pokémon Home needed - both on Switch and mobile)
Tumblr media
Vaporeon lv.100 Tera type: Water Ability: Hydration (hidden) Item: Shell Bell Nature: Modest (/Quiet/Mild in a pinch) IVs: max in HP, sp.atk., sp.def. EVs: 252 sp.atk., 252 sp.def., 4 HP
Moveset: -Surf (TM) -Rain Dance (TM) -Calm Mind (TM) -Wish (egg move) (I ended up only using two healing cheers instead, but might as well have a full moveset)
Usage:
So, the nice thing about H. Typhlosion is that he doesn't mess with stats. He still wipes stat modifications on both sides, but only once, and can't boost his own stats nor drop yours. The Sunny Day + Will-O-Wisp + Flamethrower + Infernal Parade (x2 damage when you have a status condition) looks scary, but it's all special damage that can be heavily mitigated with some simple boosts on your part. Noice
Oh, I should mention that serebii.net has started listing all the scripted actions of event raid mons, so give it a look! Extremely useful!
Anyway, back to our raid. What we have to look out for is Sunny Day - luckily for us it's a scripted move, it will happen at 95% of the time bar (so ~turn 2) and once more at 40% of the time bar. We want to keep the rain on as long as possible, because it activates Vaporeon's ability (Typhlosion's AI seems to prioritize keeping you burnt, and rain + Hydration neutralizes it) AND completely flips the power balance in our favor, BUT since the first Sunny Day will not be in the first turn, it's actually better to open with a Calm Mind and wait for the sun to go up before our first Rain Dance. Just so we don't waste two turns in a row playing with the weather, you know.
Once it's raining we're basically safe - the only move that's still worrisome is Focus Blast, and only because it can lower your sp.def. but it won't happen too often. THUS don't bother getting your special stats up to the max, I find that the single one from the opening is enough. Get your 4 Surfs in (for the tera orb, counting one more because Typhlosion steals your charge once). Less special attack on the Vaporeon is actually helpful here: you deal enough damage to recover reliably with Shell Bell, and not enough to trigger the shield until ~3 Surfs are done. You can reapply Rain Dance if the rain stops much sooner than the 40% time threshold, but it's not heavily needed, depends on how lucky you've been until now. Just keep an eye open for the scripted player-side stat reset (drop everything and do 1-3 more Calm Mind, heal when you need to either with Wish-Heal Up or from using Surf if you're already terastallized) and the second Sunny Day (drop everything and reapply rain). When you are ready and terastallized and with more than half HP, start spamming Surf and don't look back.
TL;DR: Calm Mind x1, Rain Dance right after his Sunny Day, Surf (x4 or more) and heal (Wish or Heal Up cheer as needed), terastallize when possible, Rain Dance after 2nd Sunny Day, Calm Mind x3 (+ healing as needed) after Vaporeon's stats are reset, Surf until KO.
OTHER OPTIONS:
Wish is a fancy move but not so easy to use, and you can use the healing cheer just as effectively (in this battle). Instead of Wish, one could use Fake Tears (TM) to harshly drop Typhlosion's sp.def. but, since it doesn't work when he's shielded, it must be done after Typhlosion's negative stat wipe (85% time) and before the shield goes up (either 70% time or 60% time remaining, whichever comes first). That is the time you'd use Surf to charge the tera orb in the strategy above, so this means that you're delaying the terastallization (and counting exclusively on cheers to heal) in exchange for more attack power. It's very likely that you will deal so much damage, after 3 Fake Tears, that you won't even need to terastallize, but you have to pay more attention to your health.
Pros: -no DLC no transfer no trading required -great special bulk -also enough special attack to never need a full boost to any stat Cons: -the fact that it requires both the HA and a tera type that's not one of the native types of the first evo stage (Eevee) means that (unless you got very lucky with tera dens) you either have to use an Ability Patch or 50 water tera shards (I'd choose the shards, annoying to farm but less rare)
Tumblr media
Afterword (feel free to skip): this one was really easy. I think there's a lot of space for playing around with other pokémon. I went with Vaporeon because it was one of the more common ones and I gave priority to those that can be found in the base game, but it's not the only one, and I think I can give some suggestions :) The biggest threat is - unusually - Will-O-Wisp, because it makes the ghost type STAB move twice as strong and you can't even bring a normal type for this fight (unless you like being Focus Blasted in the face). And yeah of course you don't want anything weak to fire in general... Water types look good. As long as you have rain and the means to boost both your special defense (or drop enemy's special attack) and boost your attack/special attack (or drop enemy's defense/special defense), you're basically done. Physical attackers also need some burn protection, be it from Water Veil or Hydration; special attackers appreciate it but if they have enough special bulk and can withstand the stronger Infernal Parade they can even do without. I wouldn't try Misty Terrain on them though, you already have another field thing that lasts 5 turns to keep track of (rain). (Best bets imo: Whiscash, but maaaaybe if you're lucky you can get away with Dondozo, Tatsugiri, Basculegion(F), Clawitzer, Lumineon, Milotic...? Gastrodon? probably the legendaries too) Fire types look good on paper but you need to terastallize them to another type if you want to break the shield. I suggest tera ground, and Flash Fire as the ability. But whatever you use here probably has no good ground-type move and needs Tera Blast which is... mid. (If I had to take a guess, I'd say the ones with a chance would be Rapidash-Ninetails-Flareon-Arcanine(Kanto), and maaaaaybe Armarouge-Ceruledge-Typhlosion(Johto)) Guts may be an option? But idk, all mons with that ability look like poor counters... Dachsbun's Well-Baked Body also looks fun (throwback to that time I used it against Johtonian Typhlosion! It would be so funny if it worked LOL but it would need yet another tera type change, fairy on fire is eh) Misty Terrain... I was this close to transfer a Galarian Weezing with its HA but then I gave up because, as I said, priority to easily obtainable pokemon. Not everyone has swsh. Other Misty Terrain users don't look too promising because they're almost all fairy types and again, probably gotta change tera type unless you can power through the shield without super effective moves, ahah Magic Bounce has a similar problem. All available pokemon with it are psychic types and thus weak to ghost. I guess maybe Hatterene if you give her looooots and lots of special defense? Walking Wake looks interesting, but I can't see anything in its arsenal to raise its special attack or lower the enemy's special defense... might still make it, who knows

super easy self-care tips
There are plenty of self-care articles online, but I wanted to focus on easier and simpler self-care methods for mentally ill people like me with low energy/motivation or who have a hard time managing daily life.
Drink some tea — Tea can not only soothe you, it can hydrate you as well. I personally like teas that help reduce anxiety like chamomile tea, lavender tea, or rose tea.
Cuddle a stuffed animal — Even if you’re an adult, a stuffed animal can be great for your mental well-being. They can help ease loneliness, provide comfort, and heal your inner child.
Chair yoga — Don’t let the idea of yoga scare you, you can do it while sitting! There are many mental health benefits to yoga, such as relieving stress and improving focus. Search “chair yoga” on YouTube for some guided yoga exercises.
Sit in sunlight — You can do this outside or indoors next to a window. A few minutes of basking in sunlight helps boost your mood.
Step on grass — I know “touch grass” is often used as a snarky comeback, but seriously, feeling the grass beneath your feet can release endorphins. If you find this gross or don’t like the sensation, you can try stepping on a soft rug instead.
Pet an animal — Do you own any pets? Running your hands through their fur can lower stress and anxiety, and it also makes for a good grounding exercise.
Use hand sanitizer — It’s easy to neglect hygiene when you’re in a rut. But it’s important to keep our hands clean to reduce the spread of germs. Use some hand sanitizer, they’re less harsh on your hands than soap and water, and they smell nice.
Clean up your inbox — Unsubscribe to any mailing lists you’re not interested in, and delete any old emails you no longer need. Even just five minutes of cleaning up your inbox will take a weight off your shoulders.
Use a rocking chair — If you own a rocking chair, using one can release endorphins that promote relaxation, improve sleep, and boost your mood. They’re also good for stimming.
Doodle — You don’t have to be an artist to doodle. You can doodle anything from stick figures to scribbly lines. Doodling can help reduce stress and regulate emotions, and you might even make something you like!
Take photos — Try to take regular photos of yourself, friends/family, pets, food, surroundings, anything special to you. That way you can stop to appreciate life and have fond memories to look back on.
Aromatherapy — If you own a diffuser, you can use essential oils to promote relaxation and manage anxiety. You can also mix them with lotion or a carrier oil and massage it on your skin for extra relaxation.
Breathing exercises — When your stress or anxiety levels are high, even just one minute of deep and steady breathing can help keep those levels under control.
