Akechi/Joker
Summarized by Anonymous Contributor
Ok so Akira(you the player) are the leader of a group of thieves (who are doing good for society) but there are more sinister things happening that also get attributed to your group.
Enter Akechi the famous charismatic detective who’s declared that he will catch you(you can probably already guess where this is going) When you first meet him it is already clear that something is very wrong under that obviously fake smile. Under your civilian identity you befriend him and slowly(or rather fast) he opens up to you showing more of his true self and what pains his heart. Even disclosing sensitive information that could bring him down. Of course this is all just lies he made up to get close to you right? Nope.
You see the betrayal coming from miles ahead. Not only does he betray you, he’s been the real culprit all along.
Despite knowing this loooong ahead you still take him on little gay dates to the aquarium, public bathhouse, pretending to shoot eachother, a café or try to impress him with your amazing darts skills. You may even willingly make wrong choices just for his approval (I did gdi Akechi I trusted you.) And when you come home he's already waiting for you.
After you survive him gleefully shooting you through the head(it makes sense in context) you meet again he admits that he wishes you’d have met earlier, confirming that your bond was genuine, that you could’ve been friends/partners(? It’s complicated) and he really meant it when he said you’re the only one he feels at ease with. But not without having a truly unhinged meltdown about it first, vehemently rejecting your offer to still be friends and turn over a new leaf. (so after he's attempted to kill you at least 2 times and is gearing up for making it 3)
Akechi betraying you is as much a betrayal of himself as it is one of you.
Bonus points:
other characters comment on you being the only one close to him
during one rank he confesses to you…. His hate?
as previously mentioned, your relationship ranks up after he shoots you in the head(you survive, it make sense in context)
he himself compares his betrayal of you to romance(yes after shooting you through the head). On live tv. In the same moment he reminds himself how he’s felt unwanted his entire life, like a reminder he killed the only person who ever made him wanted.
At the end you have the choice to stay in a perfect world where he is alive and never underwent any of the pain in his life turning him into a wholly different person, or let him die(again) as his true self. If you pick the former you can return the betrayal.
*vague description it’s complicated.

Homura/Madoka
Summary by Anonymous Contributor
This is the story of 3 betrayals :
1. Madoka and Homura meet and become best friends. Madoka believes in love and justice and helping people as a magical girl. But she gets killed. So Homura, loving her and believing in her cause, becomes a magical girl in order to time travel and save Madoka. Eventually, however, they find out they were being tricked all along, and none of what they thought they were fighting for is real. And this is BETRAYAL NUMBER 1: They've agreed to give up and just die/become monsters Together, when suddenly Madoka sacrifices herself to save Homura. As she is dying in Homura's arms she tells her she has a selfish goal: "you can travel in time, right ? Go back in time and warn me, stop me from getting tricked and becoming a magical girl."
2. So Homura goes back in time and tries to warn Madoka and their friends, but no one believes her. She can't save Madoka from her fate. So she time travels, again and again and again, trying desperately to save Madoka and failing every time, and becoming more and more estranged from her with every timeline. By the time we get to the timeline we know, she's done it so many times that she's become a stranger to Madoka, but Homura has become cold and hardened. It doesn't matter if Madoka doesn't love her anymore, all that matters is saving her. In the end, Homura's time travel has tied the strings of fate around Madoka so much, that Madoka bcomes the most powerful magical girl of all time and is able to essentially become a god, and rewrite the rules of the universe. She's created a better world, but at the cost of erasing her own human existence. Now no one will remember her except for Homura. As they are hugging naked in the cosmos, saying goodbye as the universe rewrites itself, Homura expresses how devastated she is by this turn of events. Madoka has saved her from the time loop she was in, but has sacrificed herself, and thereby Homura has failed to keep her promise of saving her. This is BETRAYAL NUMBER 2: Homura now has to live without Madoka, and all hope of keeping her promise to save her is lost.
3. And so we arrive at BETRAYAL NUMBER 3, the one they're most famous for : Homura tricks Madoka, and steals her godhood. Homura becomes the devil and undoes everything Madoka has fought for just to save Madoka and let her have a human existence, because she loves her that much. It's the ultimate betrayal because she destroys everything Madoka sacrificed herself for, she refuses to let her make the world better because selfishly, she loves Madoka so much she wants her to be able to exist.

And this too, shall pass.
Characters/Pairing: Kobayashi Rindou and Tsukasa Eishi/EiRin
Type: Canon-divergent AU, Post-series, Peerless-verse, Freestyle
Word Count: 1860
A/N: Erm. My muse is disrespecting the hell out of me. I am so angry, this was supposed to be a happy fic, gdi.
In the aftermath of it all, he was…confused.
Yes, losing had been an incredibly upsetting blow, and maybe he was still reeling in shock at the moment because it had been so long since he had last lost a match on the field…yet somehow, the dull ache of this defeat had only felt passingly insignificant in light of the other bigger thing that had been callously wrenched from him as a result.
His belief.
Everything that he had so firmly believed in, all that unwavering conviction that he once possessed in choosing this path to walk had crumbled and dissolved like wet, shifting sand in the face of the relentless tide that was the opposition, sweeping him so far out into the faithless depths of the unknown, leaving him aimless and without compass to ever find his way back again.
He did not understand it at all; were they wrong, after all? Was he so wrong, for believing in and fighting for the ideal that he had honestly, wholeheartedly, thought was right?
He had always been one to be straightforward and unhesitating when it came to his goals. Everything that he had done in the course of his life had been for the sake of achieving his dreams, and he went after them with relentless, hounding tenacity and focus. Discipline, dedication, drive. They were all he knew to be. Some people called him ‘selfish’, but such was the only way he knew to stay true to himself.
Even then, the road was never easy, but the goal had always been ever clear. All he had to do was keep his head up and keep heading unerringly towards the light, no matter how many times he stumbled, no matter how many times he fell. Making Tootsuki, making the Elite Ten, making First Seat…they were all stepping stones and milestones that would eventually lead him to his purpose in life.
But this time, for the very first time, the guiding light that beckoned at the far horizon had winked out abruptly, the ground beneath his feet that he was always so certain of had vanished, and he could not see, and he could not regain his balance. Blind and disoriented, there was no more path to follow. What to do. What to do now?
He was so lost.
They called him knight, but what use was there for a knight with no clear cause to champion, no proper purpose to pledge loyalty to? It had felt like a sharp stab of betrayal, to realize that Azami was wrong, to understand that he himself had only been made used of and deployed about like a pawn in an elaborate game of chess by the man he had so deeply respected and regarded as a close friend and mentor, and it left such a dark, bitter taste in his mouth, because with this undeniable confirmation, all the victories that he had gained on the man’s behalf and had been so proud of now felt pervaded by taint and wrongness.
His confidence was badly shaken. He did not know what to think anymore. And now, there was also disturbing unease and uncertainty roiling turbulently in his heart, because if the ideology he had always supported so staunchly was corrupted, then what should he do now? Should he carry on obstinately even while knowing that his beliefs were riddled with flaws, or should he abandon his ideals, these same ideals that he had known and embraced for as long as he remembered?
Both possibilities pained him equally, for different reasons.
If he abandoned his ideals, did that mean all that effort and passion that he poured into achieving his goals over the years…were they all for nothing? Was he going to have to let go of all that staggering amount of work and sacrifice and start building from ground zero all over again?
The thought was enough to make him flinch.
…But if he stubbornly persisted with what he had now, still insisted on going down this path for the sake of self-preservation, because cooking for the sake of himself was the only thing he had ever known…what would become of him eventually?
There was a vague idea that he had once entertained, when he was still very much in awe and admiration of his mentor, the latter so cynical yet so incredibly worldly and sophisticated. The man had been dazzling and charismatic with his visionary ideals and grandiose philosophies, and there was something intrinsic about him that really appealed to Eishi too, like a nod of recognition from one prodigy to another. They were the same type. It was so comforting to know that there existed someone in this world who was so much like him, who faced the same challenges and frustrations that he faced and it had given him so much hope when it seemed like Azami had actually found a solution to this existential issue that he had been circling round and round and struggling so hard to deal with but to no avail.
So of course he had jumped at the chance to offer his services when his mentor had requested for it. To make a difference, to see to fruition this grand new world that they had always talked about. He wanted so much to make that difference, and was willing to throw himself tirelessly into supporting a resonating cause where his thoughts and inputs and ideas were actually valued and appreciated for their weight and worth, and not just simply because he was a genius and thus automatically commanded respect regardless of what he did and said.
…As if that one simple word was all it took to define everything he entailed, easily glossing over all the complications and challenges that he has had to surmount just to bring life to his masterpieces, the intricate dishes that he had slaved and struggled so hard over to produce.
Towards the end, the term genius had felt more like a grievous insult than praise…and the culinary paradise that Azami had always talked about had sounded more and more like an ultimate utopian dream…
Unfortunately, a dream, ultimately, was just a dream. Something unsustainable.
Eventually, it was time to wake up.
It was very quiet now.
The deafening roar and cheers from the spectators of the Regiment Shokugeki were no more, and the stands were all empty, the humongous competition hall echoing, filled only by the ghosts of past battles. The long steel counters and state-of-the-art, industrial-grade kitchen appliances on the arena were pristine and gleamed silently beneath the powerful stage lights, all the utensils immaculately washed, dried and kept neatly in their places, silently waiting to be used again by fiery cooks who would put everything they had on the line to achieve their dreams, fighting tooth and nail for their prides and ideals.
Somehow…he had become jaded too, it seemed.
Still in his chef uniform, he had aimlessly wandered back out to the hall after all the others had left. He was one of the last ones still here…but he was not alone.
She had wordlessly followed him, keeping him company even when he was hardly in the most sociable mood right now…but then again, she wasn’t making any attempts at conversation, either.
She was just there. Giving him all the space he desired, but an undeniable presence at the edge of his senses all the same, a silent sentinel.
He sighed, lifted his face and looked up, and was promptly blinded by the stage lights.
Blinded by the brightness, how ironic.
But it was true, wasn’t it. The light from high above him was so all-encompassing, he could barely see anything else.
He closed his eyes, just stood there and let all the stillness and quiet wash over him. It was almost peaceful.
…But then, eventually, the lights started to go out, silently, one row after another, until they were doused in semi-darkness. It was late; the technicians backstage were leaving. He slowly reopened his eyes. He could not help but think it symbolic, a curtain call.
He turned his head to gaze at his quiet shadow. It took a while for his vision to focus, gradually adjusting to the dimness. She was standing at the edge of the stage, hovering by the side entrance. Even as their eyes met and held, she made no move to approach him. Like him, she too was in uniform still.
He wondered what she was thinking.
She had never wanted to be a tool to be used to further Azami’s ambitions, and he also knew how much she quietly disliked the older man. Still, she had joined all the same, for him.
But doing that had changed her a little, too. She was quieter, more restless and fidgety, sometimes a bit distant, as if distracted and lost in thought. And other times, she just watched him, her expression inscrutable…like now.
“Are you still afraid?” he asked quietly, his voice hollow, finally breaking the silence. The rest of the question hung unsaid between them.
Of me?
The question was almost ridiculous. Her, afraid? She had always been fearless.
But even so, after all these years, he would be blind not to correctly read her demeanor…and he was never clueless when it came to her. She was wary. Guarded. Reticent.
He wondered to himself which was worse; for her to learn to fear him, or for her to be utterly disappointed in him.
She slowly started forward, treading almost soundlessly until she was before him. She tilted her head back a bit, looked at him unflinchingly.
“Should I be?” she responded evenly, her gaze holding his, her expression uncharacteristically somber.
He was silent.
“…I’m sorry.”
She huffed, a glossy sheen growing brighter in her eyes, and stumbled closer.
“Stupid; what are you apologizing for,” she muttered. And then she reached over, grabbed her best friend by his scarf, and pulled him into her arms. He was taller so he ended bending over a little to accommodate her forcefulness, but her embrace was firm, unhesitating. And so unreservedly warm.
She held onto him so tightly, as if anxious that he would disappear.
He stiffened, not sure what he was supposed to do.
“I was never afraid of you,” she mumbled after a long pause, her voice cracking.  “I was afraid for you. Stupid.”
Oh. Oh.
His hands clenched with silent relief by his sides. It was awhile before he could convince his fingers to uncurl. He hesitantly reached up…and wrapped his arms gingerly around her. She did not protest his action. All the tension in his entire being leeched away, and without it, he slumped wearily into her, his face turning, buried into her hair, eyes squeezing shut, drained.
There was no one more disappointed in him than himself.
He trembled, shoulders shaking.
She seemed to understand his grief, even without him having to say a thing. Her hand came up, fingers sliding haphazardly through his hair, blunt nails scratching at his scalp. Blindly, instinctively offering comfort.
He tightened his arms around her, struggling to breathe.
There was nothing else to hold on to anymore.

Kane from the Command and Counqer Series has to be one of my favorite antagonist/villains of all time. Because he encompasses everything that makes for a great antagonist.
He’s very charismatic to the point of being a force of personality to the Brotherhood of Nod, they essentially worship him. He exploits this to the fullest as he can be very kind and understanding, but also completely flip to be brutal, cold and calculating the next instant as he doesn’t tolerate incompetence long.
I suppose he’s kind of like Thrawn in that aspect, in that he’ll give someone a second chance if he thinks they will learn from it but if they display complete incompetence or the mentality of trying to go behind his back then he just cuts them off immediately.
Kane is probably the most intelligent person in the C&C universe with how he schemes aiming to benefit himself not only in the short term but the long term as well. Even when Nod has been defeated quite soundly by GDI in the past it always seems to re-surge even stronger than before later on even if the organization remains fairly quiet for years.
His intelligence and schemes also until the last C&C game that finished the story led to alot of speculation as to just WHO Kane was. As he always seemed to know more about things like TIberium and such than anyone else, he hoarded knowledge and only let out what people needed to know in order to do their jobs effectively. Keeping his Grand Strategy to himself. So there ended up being speculation on him not being from Earth at all, to people posing that Kane might be the actual Biblical Cain(Especially due to him seemingly to have been killed only to show back up again), cursed with immortality, his great knowledge coming from him having been here since the beginning and witnessed the rise and fall of empires.
All these just made him a great antagonist as you never quite knew what his endgame actually was just that it involved Tiberium. His charisma was to the extent that you believed him and his point of view to an extent in that you could relate to his side. It made GDI not look like quite the White Knight they were portrayed as because Kane had so much conviction you just couldn’t help but wonder, is he actually right and is GDI wrong?
Course the last game did answer some of the questions but I won’t go into that as that wasn’t the point of this ramble, was just me basically enthusing about what I enjoyed about Kane in the C&C series.

What Happened to Doc’s Kids After his Death?
beabaseball: idk like I guess they're smuggled out just before Doc is taken to be tortured and executed and they get out just barely in time hide in a caravan in the dark for weeks until the troop reaches Snowdin askull4everyoccasion: Doooooc ;_; beabaseball: and they're sent to live with the rabbits, who already have enough kids and can handle things pretty well? askull4everyoccasion: Yeah beabaseball: stories of the scientists' death spread pretty far and wide and definitely reach the mountains and like it kinda changes the whole dynamics of the wars? but the wars do end pretty crushingly askull4everyoccasion: Do the rabbits know where they come from? beabaseball: the mom does, yeah The inkeeper and her sister askull4everyoccasion: Ok beabaseball: the kids just sort of accept it, but between the rabbits and Grillby keeping an eye on them, Sans and Pap still grow up as outsiders sort of? askull4everyoccasion: Yeah beabaseball: and I guess eventually lead a rebellion against the King?
askull4everyoccasion: Ooooo beabaseball: Sans wants to take the direct route and lead an armed force Papyrus thinks there shouldn't need to be a rebellion at all and they can fix thigns somehow else??? maybe the king can just be reasoned with?? so they have a feud over it Sans still remembers Doc better than Papyrus does askull4everyoccasion: Is the king still being an ass or fighting others? beabaseball: the wars settled down but without a royal doctor to put the blame on it's been getting harder to scapegoat? Doc had to be disposed of because he was rebelling more and more and about to fall apart, and it'd be better if he were executed instead of just be allowed to die naturally askull4everyoccasion: Ahhh beabaseball: but by the time Sans and Papyrus are grown up, the effect has worn off more it's just a really strict kingdom and the closer you get to the capital the stricter it is so a lot of people who don't like the King end up fleeing to places like Snowdin, that are farther out askull4everyoccasion: Right beabaseball: I think the local kingdoms have all been united under Andorufs tho, yeah so no more war right now, but like kinda Qin-Dynasty shit happening with some fuckin Great Wall being built and a huge strain on resources and etc askull4everyoccasion: Yeah beabaseball: meanwhile beabaseball: Prince Asgore has grown up, too oh geez I guess Sans goes around recruiting people? he's a charismatic fucking leader man askull4everyoccasion: Oh man beabaseball: Sans goes bar to bar, sweet talking people into rebellion with him he's a real "man of the people" askull4everyoccasion: Hahaha beabaseball: no one really knows his relation to the doctor but when he gets back to Snowdin, he learns his brother's gone and joined up in the Royal Guard askull4everyoccasion: Oh no beabaseball: He tries to talk Paps out of it, but??? He's never really been able to get Paps to do anything he didn't want to do askull4everyoccasion: Yeah beabaseball: and he can't stop the whole rebellion just for his brother, even though he loves his brother more than anything so the obvious solution is to just make sure Papyrus Isn't There when shit goes down beabaseball: even though he knows Papyrus will be pissed with him askull4everyoccasion: Is sans also low-key working to clear doc's name? beabaseball: more like avenging his name? or honoring him? askull4everyoccasion: Nice beabaseball: like he knows he probably won't clear THE DOCTOR'S name but like he can honor "the man who died to save me from the King" askull4everyoccasion: Yeah beabaseball: and the people will honor that man with him yeah but still, doesn't want to take chances. So he also trots over to the nearest neighboring kingdom happens to be Toriel's Kingdom and promises her some of the land along the borders if she and her troops help his rebellion usurp Andorfus askull4everyoccasion: Oooo beabaseball: and Toriel's kingdom's been beaten pretty black and blue by the King's before, so she's like fuckin down for this shit VENGENCE askull4everyoccasion: Hahaha beabaseball: so the time finally comes to do the attack in hte cpaital and Toriel just basically asks for a meeting with Andorfus for political reasons and brings an army with her sans probably had a plan to call Papyrus away but something went wrong askull4everyoccasion: Oh no beabaseball: and instead of Papyrus being at the Wall and far from fucking anywhere he's in the capital askull4everyoccasion: Oh nooooo beabaseball: with the leader of the Royal Guard, Undyne she's had him transferred to her unit just recently enough to fuck up Sans' plan and Papyrus has been talking a lot to people askull4everyoccasion: Uh oh beabaseball: and he's not very charismatic or very well spoken when it comes to persuasion beabaseball: but he's earnest and endearing, and he honestly believes he's doing the right thing when he does something and that makes Undyne loyal and by extension Papyrus has a small group of Undyne's followers who are also following him askull4everyoccasion: Ooooo beabaseball: so as much as Undyne's duty is to protect the King and etc she's also heeding Papyrus' wish to not harm the attackers and especially to not harm the short, low-HP skeleton whose CHECK reads some pretty weird shit so it's pretty fucked up and that's when the King comes out askull4everyoccasion: Hahaha beabaseball: and hte King isn't?? really good at sparing people??? in his defense he was once a one-man wall against the humans in the war askull4everyoccasion: Lol beabaseball: and learned to never show mercy back then because that's how you SURVIVED so Andorfus comes out and like it turns from this fight between revolutionaries who have a lot of differnet motives but aren't trained and the well trained amy unit under Undyne to this fight beteen a bunch of revolutionaries trying to save thier own skins (understandable) and the King who at this point seems to have guards mostly to protect his assassins (i should note: the dogs LISTEN to Undyne and love her so like... being eaten alive is much less of a problem now) but then like askull4everyoccasion: Haha beabaseball: this means we get a fight between Andorfus of the bajillion HP and 1 HP sans askull4everyoccasion: Holy shit Bone dog time? beabaseball: see like I'm not sure!!! Maybe???? maybe Andorfus forces him into that form instead of being too tired and falling asleep Sans realizes he can't dodge one of them effectively or needs to change trajetory or something and becomes bone dog and just tears shit up askull4everyoccasion: Hahaha beabaseball: naturally, the canine guards are like losing their shit the king is being attacked??? but also DOGE??? askull4everyoccasion: LOL WHO FOLLOW??? beabaseball: YEAH THEY'RE A LITTLE STUNNED SO THEY LIKE IDK beabaseball: GO RUN BEHIND UNDYNE PAPYRUS IS SCREAMING askull4everyoccasion: Hahahaha beabaseball: UNDYNE IS FUCKING CONFUSED BUT LIKE SHE'S GOTTA DO SOMETHING??? OH SHIT ASGORE IS IN THE LINE OF FIRE; BETTER GO SAVE THE PRINCE good excuses to do your duty undyne i feel like Papyrus has to trip Andorfus from behind with an unexpected Bone attack but like also threaten to attack Sans possibly with his own blaster to get Sans to stop beabaseball: "you know what he was going to do to us and what he did to our dad" "THAT'S WHAT DUNGEONS ARE FOR??????" "AND TALKING????" askull4everyoccasion: Hahahaha Ohhhhh pap beabaseball: sans doesn't understand how a dungeon is anymore humane than death, but 'humane' comes from 'human' and from what he's heard they weren't exactly great folks, so maybe it IS much more 'humane' get some runic cuffs on him. Undyne is like "wait why am I arresting him, I'm his guard captain???" ... she arrests him anyway makes sense at the time beabaseball: oh fuk the country's in a state of anarchy now, no one tell the peasants askull4everyoccasion: Rofl beabaseball: double fuck, what's the ruler of the neighboring kingdom doing here? sans is like "yeah she's getting some of the border lands as thanks" and Toriel's like "yeah unless I wanna invade right now with this army behind me" askull4everyoccasion: Rekt beabaseball: and then she's like "lol it's ok i'm joking hohohohoho" beause toriel is like that adsdfkj beabaseball: everyone takes like 10 steps away just in cas case .... and then she's like "nah actually like that's a good idea" askull4everyoccasion: hahahaha Gdi beabaseball: and this is why not just anyone should be doing the goddamn politicking SANS sdfg beabaseball: ...but naw they get it figured out and go inside the castle and like... do terms of agreements Asgore is technically King now but Undyne declares herself Reagent for the proceedings she's negotiating with Sans and Toriel but Papyrus comes in with her since he's power in this case against Sans who is like covered in his shredded snowdin clothes and just goes into the meeting like that he dgaf askull4everyoccasion: Hahaha beabaseball: Sans doesn't actually want to be leader or ruler, that's a lot of work. He just wanted to see Andorfus suffer and get revenge. askull4everyoccasion: Typical So Andorfus is in the dungeon? beabaseball: yeap he's not invited to this that's part of Sans' conditions for not killing him immediately idk he might get toriel to haul him back to HER kingdom to do it??? who knows right now they have to focus on how to maintain stability after the coup askull4everyoccasion: Yeah beabaseball: Undyne can be a pretty good Queen for a while but she can't see it being good long term, and Asgore's going to be of age soon beabaseball: and he's a mess living with Andorfus he mostly just like avoided the fuck out of his dad did his tutoring and then ran and hid in the gardens until nightfall when he had to go back in askull4everyoccasion: Did Andorfus ever hurt him or was he just... intimidating? beabaseball: Andorfus didn't intentionally hurt him, but being in the area where all thsoe things happened (and when he was young Doc was around) made him very aware that Andorfus DID hurt people he's got the knowledge base to rule, but he's clearly been pretty fucked up and isn't the strong backbone this country's used to, and there's genuine fear that the court and needs of the country would overwhelm him and demand too much that he'd try to give but literally be unable to askull4everyoccasion: Yeah beabaseball: fortunately Toriel thinks he's adorable and charming askull4everyoccasion: Haha beabaseball: so the plan is Undyne is Queen while Asgore and Toriel form an alliance between their Kingdoms and once Asgore is able to he will assume the throne after observing Undyne for a while Sans is given the Judge position as a Special Advisor to the monarchs, to stop them if they ever go too far and to administer justice when necessary Judge was probably made up just for him askull4everyoccasion: Niiiice beabaseball: and before too many more questions can be asked, Sans and Papyrus slip away into the castle and find the old corridor they grew up in, in the back of the royal scientist's chambers (also, Papyrus is fired from the Royal Guard) (in Undyne's words, "you literally just asked us to fight a war and not kill anyone", and in Papyrus' words, "YEAH BUT IT WORKED, DIDN'T IT!?" ) askull4everyoccasion: Rofl Oh no, seeing their dads old place;_; beabaseball: yeah it's been moved into by another scientist who isn't nearly as well known or reviled, Alphys, but the hidden room is still intact they meet some of Alphys' failed experiments Undyne wants some explanations, and so do the dogs but they aren't really sure about talking to the guys who ate their dad right now Papyrus is much more forgiving than Sans is, but that doesn't mean they want to talk about it askull4everyoccasion: Yeah beabaseball: yep and then I propose an rp about doc going back to that world and sans meeting a doppleganger of his dad's face :) askull4everyoccasion: Omg

John Silver/James Flint (Black Sails)
Summarized by Anonymous Contributor
what if we were pirates and I was grieving over my lost love and pulled you into the orbit of my narrative and turned you into the same kind of monster as I am but instead of dedicating all your energy to destruction you found people to love and you sacrificed our shared dream of revolution for a chance at a quiet life and you had to kill me to do it but instead you said I will wait here for a day a month a year until we can walk out of this together. and also we were both boys.
The moment that best exemplifies WHY I believe silverflint should win this tournament isn't the moment of the betrayal itself, but something that happens an entire season before. It's the season 3 finale, and Flint and Silver are preparing for a battle. Silver says to Flint, "Your demons are a part of our reality. Such is the nature of the influence you wield. Some of those demons I've come to know, but the one in whose name this war is to be fought is still a stranger to me." He asks Flint to share the deepest and most painful parts of his backstory - and Flint does. He opens up to Silver about his (queer) lover, who was killed because of their relationship. He's never told anyone about this before, and everyone who knew is is dead. But he tells Silver.
Silver takes this in and comes to a realization. He tells Flint that he sees himself as the latest in a line of people who have become very close to Flint and died because of it. He places himself in the same category as both of Flint's dead lovers. But he says that, when it comes down to it, he's afraid he's going to destroy Flint rather than let himself be destroyed. Flint tells Silver that if he does try to kill him, he'll have his work cut out for him. The whole conversation takes place in flashbacks, intercut with the battle that takes place the next day. The end of the conversation is played in voiceover over the final shots of the season: after winning the battle, Flint stands on the bank of a river, staring across at Silver and Silver's lover; the two of them stand on the opposite bank staring back.
It is POETIC CINEMA on a level I don't even have words for. It's the moment of their greatest triumph together, the moment Flint finally opens up to someone a decade after what happened to him, the moment their partnership goes from utilitarian to inseparable. But the seeds of their dissolution are already present. Silver says as much, in the same breath as he declares himself to be the latest in the lineage of Flint's lovers. It's a truly unbelievable sequence.
