Going back to this thing briefly

When adapting this chapter into an episode Toei did not explain nor demonstrate to us what the fuck that spike was (instead they gave us Sables #378545), so we're no closer to finding out what kinda new moves Crocodile might have up his sleeve, whether that really was a Haki-infused sand spike or what

But when I was checking the melting point of sand out of curiosity (to figure out if Crocodile has a fighting chance against Akainu, which in theory he does because Akainu isn't hot enough to melt sand (in theory)), I was reminded of the fact that sand is mostly made of silica

Or, in other words, quartz. Sand is, on average, made of crystal. Of course, sand is also made of other things and other minerals (not just quartz), but if we wanted to assume Croc's DF is made of one element and one element alone, then let's just assume it's 100% silica, right

And now I can't help but to wonder now though

Could Crocodile have learned a new technique where he somehow compresses and hardens his sand so much it can turn into large, solid crystals? Or more specifically, sharp pointy stabby weapons to murder people with? 'Cause. How fucking cool would that be

Also considdering how much Crocodile likes his bling, being able to form crystals to murder people with would arguably be on-brand for him

placing this from my twitter here because like! i see people say that pik4 is a retcon or that Olimar and Louie's stuff was reconned out, and because i hadn't finished the game i was just say there like "oh, probably there's some inconsistency in the story or a character, that's why people believe it" and as i kept playing i realized that... not really? the bad ending of pik1 happens canonically in pik4, Oli becomes a leafling after not making it.

some things Do change, like him not managing to take off and sending a distress signal and a lot of people coming to PNF-404 for various reasons, mostly out of self interest and also end up stranded, but you could attribute that to it just being part of this timeline. his progression in pik1 is purely dependent on the player and the way they play the game either way!

like this also doesn't mean that pik4 isn't canon, both the good timeline of the previous games AND this one are canon - pik4 is a "what if" scenario

i really want people to realize that i don’t hate lip or fiona because i think people may be starting to think that. lip’s my third favorite gallagher, i don’t like his actions and i personally believe he’s a misogynist but he is also one of the best written characters on the show

#fiona’s writing isn’t as good #it’s fine but emmy’s acting makes it better #lip and debbie are probably the most well written if you ask me #like as much as ian is my favorite they make him say so many ooc things and often use him just to mock queer people #and his writing started off pretty good but it got to a point where it seemed sloppier #i think that cameron’s acting and the gallavich romance plot really helped fix the mistakes the writers made with him #carl and liam are probably the worst writing wise because carl is literally just used for comedic relief half the time #as for liam he barely spoke for 7 seasons and they never understood what to do with him #but debbie and lip are solid characters and all of their actions make perfect sense considering what they endured #and while this also applies to characters like ian and fiona- as i said their writing tends to be a little weirder #just my opinion tho and it isn’t slander of anyone but john wells #shameless #lip gallagher #fiona gallagher

i'm still not all that far in, but compared to both tristamp and '98, he's so expressive and goofy. sociable as hell, too. he's so upfront kind with everyone, so long as they're not hostile.

he's just like. a complete mess of a man that i'm totally digging lol

he's emotional. he's dramatic. he's a brand new flavor of babygirl all on his own- completely unlike every other rendition of him

he's still got his moments of being a serious, brooding figure, but they're kinda rare honestly. more than anything, he's just Chilling. having drinks, striking up conversations, etc.

it's been awhile since i watched 98 trigun, but i remember that iteration of wolfwood being similar, but more serious overall. he still joked around and had this hilarious funky conman energy, but he still doesn't feel as emotional as trimax wolfwood.

and tristamp ww is basically a completely different person. someone who's pretty much always serious, though still has rare moments of... almost sarcastic/forced positivity. when he jokes around, it's always like there's something else behind it- like when he made that jab at elendira or tried to force-feed meryl bug guts lmao. he's still having fun, yeah, but it's all kinda muted.

idk, it's just interesting to see him so expressive- especially after engaging with fanon ww so much and seeing him portrayed as stoic and brooding all the time. and i wanna clarify that i adore all iterations of wolfwood's personality, all for different reasons. it's just interesting to compare them

...tho his loss of melanin is a crime befitting death. his nose, too. they STOLE from him. what did he do to deserve this.

I feel like I liked yakuza 5 a lot more than most people for some reason

#like a lot of people seem to not like it or think it’s mid #idk man but it was one of the games I enjoyed most and I really liked the range of characters you get to play #love me a murder mystery too #idk I think people seem to not like how disjointed the plot is at first and trying to keep up with everyone’s seperate plot and characters #and etc. but I personally really liked how it was all disjointed and the further you get into the game / the more characters you play the #more shit starts coming together and forming a full picture #like don’t get me wrong it’s not perfect and I do have qualms with some. choices. (mostly having to do with majima and #mirei) but overall it’s one of the games I’ve enjoyed the most and that’s kept me interested in the plot the most #fantastic to get a more in-depth look at haruka and to get to really know her by playing her and seeing how she interacts with people and #choices she makes and etc. I don’t think she was a fully fleshed out character prior to that #loved her with all my heart already don’t get me wrong but she just didn’t have much time on screen especially as a teenager to fully get #her personality across and some of the issues she deals with (mommy issues. abandonment issues #etc). #and her and uncle akiyama are a very nice unexpected duo!!! #the different settings were fun too. overall I think the whole thing just felt like more of a streamlined story in a way with drastically #different viewpoints depending on the character #also shinada’s a gift. bless him #daigo feels three dimensional and emotionally present in a way I didn’t see much in other games- even when he’s literally a boss in 4. tbh #the only other time I think he feels really solid as a character is in fuckin dead souls.
