I hate it when a character fucks up so royally that everyone else pays for it, and then neither the character, the narrative, nor anyone else addresses it and nobody blames the said character for it. And the consequences of that action NEVER touch the character responsible for it.
And they took this a step further with Sylvie. SHE blamed Loki?! And Loki apologised to HER?! Why?! What did Loki do? did I miss something?! And then LOKI was the one who kept trying to fix the mess she made and she still had the gall to not look the least bit apologetic or even point out that she was the one who made this mess and instead fought with Loki and blamed him and didn't even do anything to help?!
And she argued that she gave people free choice. Like... my girl... you destroyed people's reality... I guess given the choice people prefer their realities to not be destroyed... preferably. Since that kinda overrides all their other choices.
Sorry, good for you if you like her but imo this is awful character writing.
And talking about Loki cleaning after Sylvie's mess....yeah. no. That's not Loki. Loki is the god of mischief! He doesn't have a side, he doesn't do things because it's the right, honorable thing to do, he switches sides, he plays games, and he's mischievous because he's the god of mischief!
That's the same problem I had with that Wednesday show. 'Cause the very premise of these series is ooc. And they're supposed to be about those beloved characters. Loki is selfish he wouldn't try to be a hero with no prompting (like Thor's life or Asgardian's lives especially being on the line). Wednesday is also selfish and wouldn't try to save the world and wouldn't care about it being in danger plus the thing about Wednesday and the whole Addams family is that the opposite of what people consider bad is good for them and what people consider good is bad for them. Monsters, Destruction, bringing destruction, and being a bad omen are all good things to them.
And that's why they work so great as side characters. 'Cause Loki plays games, is charming & funny, and comically selfish until right where it matters and that's where he sweeps in to save the day and the surge of excitement and love and affection you get in those moments is exactly because you didn't know he would do it! he's established as a selfish character who you don't expect to help but right in the moment of need, he does! If you turn him into an honorable hero who just wants to do the right thing & save everyone insistently & is not very mischievous he loses the charm. And he's not the god of mischief. (And no, showing him a video clip of his previous life and changing him forever so you can do what you want to do for the rest of the series with "changed" Loki who is now a hero is super lame)
I was thinking then how do you write a series with the interesting selfish side character as a main role that doesn't involve them being a selfless hero? Until it occurred to me...the myth the legend the best of the best. Emperor's new groove.

Hi i would like to make a request if i can for a loki x plus!size reader. Where the reader confesses her love to loki and loki say's something really mean to the reader and just walks away. He only said that to her because he doesn't know how to react but loki explains to the reader why because he thinks he is a monster that doesn't deserve love but the reader tells him that he dose and he is not a monster
Hi! Thanks for the request! This is a great idea, been wanting to write angst for a while
Why you gotta be so rude? | Plus Size!Reader x Loki
Summary: You confess your feelings for Loki, but his reaction isn't what you expected
Cw: Angst, heartbreak, Loki being rude, rude comments on reader's body, gender neutral reader, minor violence, fluff at the end, good ending
Tumblr media
It wasn't a lie no one that Loki had some terrible things, the invasion in New York was only one of them, and he was already paying for it, having been forced to join The Avengers to help them and "redeem" himself
What he didn't expect was to meet you
An incredibly powerful mutant, heavy skills in combat and really powerful magic
He knew he was down bad
But he knew that he didn't deserve you, he wasn't deserving of love, from anyone
Never from you
So when it came the time, after almost a year of knowing each other and going on missions together, you finally confessed
Sure, you were on the bigger side of body type, but you were pretty damn confident and knew how to show it off and got everything you wanted
But with Loki, it went a different way
"Loki... Can we talk?"
He nodded, guiding you to a sofa so you could talk calmly
"What is it dear?" He answered you
Those emeralds staring at you made you even more nervous, but you wanted to tell him how you felt
"Loki I... I..." You sighed after taking a deep breath "I'm in love with you... I've been for a while and I... I think we could be something beautiful if you gave me a chance..."
Loki stood up abruptly, giving his back to you, panic set in you at his lack of words
"Loki...?" You said lowly
He scoffed "You... And me...?"
That took you back, his tone was laces with violence and cockiness
"You and me..." He said now looking at you, a cold laugh made you shiver "In what universe do you think us could be a beautiful thing?" He mocked you, you felt tears stinging your eyes
"Why... Why are you being so rude?"
"Don't you see it?!" He grabbed your arm, jerking you up aggressively "Look at you! You're imperfect, flawed!" He almost yelled at you "I am a God you puny midgardian! I deserve not less than a goddess, but you, you'll never be that!" He spat at you
Tears were flowing down your cheeks, you had never seen him this mad, his grip on your arm was like steel and it was hurting you
"Let me go..." You said in a whisper
When he didn't budge you said it again, but he just continued to stare at you, so you had to use violence
In a gust on magic you made him fly away from you, hitting the wall shattering it with a huge impact
"Don't you ever come near me again Loki!" You yelled at him, hitting him with another magical burst "You're an awful person! I never expected you to say such things to me!" With that you ran away, Tony and Thor entered the room, seeing the commotion you just teleported away
Loki had never been so hurt, physically and emotionally...
Days later...
You had gone far away from the tower, Loki had hurt you so bad you couldn't stand to be inches near him, no one knew where you were, not that anyone cared, you had been alone most of your life so being alone now wasn't new... But the heartbreak was new...
Yes you had had people say no to you, but never so cruelly
You hadn't eaten it days, being too self conscious of your own weight, a simple spell to make your metabolism survive without food was all you needed
"Why you gotta me so rude...?" You asked to the air, you were in an abandoned building, in who knows what country, you just wanted to be away from everyone
What you didn't expect was the man that broke your heart to be here, how did he find you? How did he know where you were?
"What are you doing here?"
You hear him sigh "I... I didn't mean what I said..."
You scoffed "Yeah right, you said it with such passion it could never be a lie..."
"Y/n... Listen I... I know that nothing fixes what I said and how I made you feel... But..." He sat down to him "I don't feel like a god anymore... I feel like a... Monster... Everything I've done in my life has been... Trick people, kill, lie... Stab my brother... Multiple times..." You almost laughed at that, but remained silent "And hurt you was my biggest mistake... Look I... I'm in love with you too... So so in love that it hurts, I don't know why I said all of that... Something in me just didn't want to believe it and... And I snapped... Nothing of what I said it's what I think of you, I think you're beautiful and so so powerful and capable of anything, I'm so sorry Y/n... I'll understand if you never wanna see me again... But you are missed at the tower..." He finished his speech, you didn't know how to respond so you just reacted
You placed your head on his shoulder, taking a deep breath and a sigh, feeling a little bit of relief wash over you
"Thank you..." Was all you said as you smiled, looking up at him, his eyes shun at you
"Am I forgiven then?"
You nodded, he leaned in to kiss you, which you gladly accepted
"I don't think you're a monster Loki... You're awesome and I think you can be kind when you want to..."
He shyly smiled, kissing you again "Thank you love..."

If You Let Me, I Can Make Another World For Us (Loki x Powerful!Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Upset with how Loki is being depicted in the current television series, and determined that you can treat him better than most people, you decide to use your powers to bring to life the God of Mischief that you fell in love with.
A/N: The reader has a superpower to bring any image of a character to life, basically turning them into a real person with flesh and blood. And when they are tired of the character, then they can simply "zap" the character back into the image.
Warning: This fic criticizes the Loki series produced by Disney. Please understand this isn't meant to offend anyone who might be a fan of the show. I don't happen to like the show very much, so this is just an imagine based on that.
You pursed your lips, watching the screen with disdain. A woman with half a head of hair kicked a tall man with greasy black hair, and all he could do was whimper like a helpless pussycat.
"Sif... Please, please, no more. Please, I beg you. I'm a horrible person. I get it. I really am. I cut off your hair because I thought it'd be funny. And it's not. Uh... I crave attention... because I'm…" He sighs. "I'm a... I'm a narcissist. And I suppose it's... it's because I'm scared of being alone."
Mewling quim. What was he even talking about? Narcissists believe that they are superior to everyone else and that they deserve all the adoration the world has to offer. They care about no one but themselves. The man - or rather the god - that you had first met a year ago (albeit he was on a screen) struck you as nothing of the sort. Loki gave his life for his brother, he protected Jane Foster - whom he had no relationship to, except for her being Thor's love - during the attacks from Malekith, and he refused to kill his own father after all that he went through in his childhood. How can someone who constantly put others first be considered a narcissist?
Moreover, this man was supposed to be the God of Mischief - he was always meant to create chaos in a lovable way. Why is he apologizing and saying he does it because he craves attention? It made no sense; he should be enjoying his own mischief, not being forced to unnecessarily apologize for it. That's not therapy, that's gaslighting.
Too confused and uninterested to watch any more, you paused the screen and began to ruminate about the Loki you first met. Months ago, you'd seen the first Thor movie, even though you had learned much about him beforehand through friends.
Loki was intelligent, someone who enjoyed reading and possessed a great knowledge of sorcery. He was loyal to his family, especially to his mother Frigga, even after he found out that he was an adopted Frost Giant. Why else would he protect Odin from Laufey, and then kill Laufey to prove that he is a true Asgardian? Loki was someone whom you wanted to see triumph in the end, despite the things he did sometimes. There was something lovable in him, something which you didn't see in this character that had the same name and face as him.
You knew that you could do justice to him. You could do more than this series that pretended to be all about him and did nothing but demean him. You could make him happier, and perhaps even healthier by giving him what a television series had failed to give him.
And you knew just what had to be done.
Immediately, you procured a pixelated image of Prince Loki on the internet, and placed your hand upon it. You were going to show him how much he was loved on Midgard, how he would have no trouble procuring an army of his own (if he truly wanted one), and how he had all the makings of a perfect king, even if he did not believe it himself.
Were you going to make him the king of Midgard or film your own Loki series? Perhaps not, but one can dream. At least you were going to make him feel like a king, and give him the experience of what it would be like to have a loving companion.
"I pray to Frigga, Queen of Odin and the highest of Aesir goddesses. If my adoration for Loki is pure, then bring the Prince of Asgard to me," you whispered, eyes closed.
Beams of yellow and green light flooded your room for a moment, and when they vanished, there stood none other than the younger Prince of Asgard. Tall, majestic, and beautiful in flesh and blood, he stood there wearing golden horns upon his head, green robes with golden armor, and tight pants that left nothing to the imagination.
Tumblr media
"Yes…" you whispered. This was perfect. With baited breath, you looked into his eyes, which were the color of a calm ocean.
He flinched a little, his long fingers curled around his spear Gungnir. It was the weapon that could open and close the Bifrost, meaning he had just come from Asgard. Now there was only one test left, to make sure that he was truly the one you wanted. "Tell me who you are." When he spoke, his voice was soft in nature yet carried the weight of a throne.
"I am Loki, the son of Odin."
You nodded, observing the hesitancy when he uttered the name of the All-father. He had just been told about his Frost Giant heritage, and was in dire need of comfort.
"I command you to tell me who you are."
Your lip curved upward just a little. He still had dominance in him, and that was exactly what was missing from that fool on the screen. After telling him your name, you strode forward and placed Loki's free hand in both of yours.
"I'm here to give you the world."

Queen of the night
Warnings: Hypers Queens, bio queens, drag queens, firts meetings
Word count: 0.9 K
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader
Prompt: One shot that portray the diversity of the LGBT community
Requests: OPEN
[Main masterlist] [Marvel masterlist]
Tumblr media
“I spoke with the mayor, about many things, but something that came up was an idea that seemed wonderful to me. He invited us to be present at the LGBT pride day march”
Tony raised his hands so we could see the photos that FRIDAY was projecting, only to see floats, extravagant costumes, drag queens , flags etc.
"Oh, that's great, it's a great party" Sam spoke, while taking a big bite of a cookie
“have you been before?” Steve asked
“Sure, it's a lot of fun”
"What is an 'LGBT'?" Thor asked
“Look, usually a person...” Tony started to explain, but before he got off topic, I interrupted him.
“And, is it completely necessary for all of us to go?”
"Come on Nat , how can you not want to go to the best party in the state?" Sam asked
"Won't that be your 'I don't want to hang out with gays ' side?" asked Steve mocking
"I wasn't the one who was born at the beginning of the last century" I took a cookie from Sam and threw it at him "what worries me is our safety, unfortunately, now, we are public figures, and perhaps it would be dangerous to be among the population..."
“Girl, of course we are not going to walk, we are going to be in a car, along with other people. Drinking and having fun”
Apparently, there was no way to make some other excuse to persuade the team not to go and stay in bed watching any series; because, everyone started to get excited, including Wanda, who was excited to be able to go to her first 'American party'.
While everyone else started rambling about their excitement, the party, and a few other things, I just grabbed my plate of oatmeal and fruit and left so I could sit in front of the TV and watch the serial killer documentary I had left behind half
———————————————————————————
The famous day of the march arrived, the mayor very kindly accommodated us in a double-decker bus without the roof.
At first I thought it would just be us on the bus, but all of a sudden people in fancy outfits, drag queens and other people started to get on.
My slight problem with crowds resurfaced, causing me to feel short of breath, head spinning, and vision starting to blur, so I carefully got up from my seat and tried to walk.
"Natasha..." Wanda spoke?, I really don't know, I was listening too far away
I went down the stairs, holding tightly to the railing, until I hit the sidewalk and collided with a mass of colors
“Hey, be careful” the dough spoke, but, seconds later, the same dough grabbed my shoulders and made me look at it “hey, are you okay?”
My vision cleared a little, until my eyes were fixed on a drag queen , she was smaller than the rest, despite her heels; and had a long pink wig; obviously the makeup was perfectly in order and the person smelled very good
"Are you OK?" she asked again, and then I realized that even her voice was sweeter and softer than other drags.
"You are not a man" I pointed out, a little way and abruptly
“Wow,” the drag queen laughed, but didn't let go of my shoulders, “you're an observant girl. I'm Sofie Moore, the real New York Show Girl and a 'bio queen ' or a 'hyper queen '” she did a few dance moves, making the corners of my mouth unconsciously rise “but, out of the night life , I'm Y/N, nice to meet you, Black Widow” she let go of my shoulders and held out her hand, I gave her a squeeze
“You know who I am” 'really brain? You meet a cute and interesting girl and you just point out the obvious?'
"Of course I know you" she laughed "You are an incredible heroine"
Apparently, until that moment, my brain managed to react and give a much more coherent response.
"Can you tell me, Natasha"
"Well, Natasha" she emphasized my name making me laugh "it's better that we get on any bus, the parade is about to start"
“Which bus did you get on?” I asked for
"I have to go to the one in the back" Y/N pointed to the last bus, which was full of drag queens
"Ohh," I made a face, causing Y/N herself to do another
"and you?" I pointed to the nearest bus, causing Y/N to turn to look, and we both realized that Clint, Tony and Wanda were trying to look at us discreetly, and tried to hide quickly " Ohh " her drag friends started yelling at her, so that got on, so, it was our time to say goodbye
“I don't want to entertain you anymore. It was nice meeting you, Sofie” I gave her hands another squeeze and tried to walk away, but she grabbed my wrists, spinning me around again.
"If you want to see us again, I'm going to be at the ' Albatross Bar' for a big after- party and I'm here from Thursday to Sunday, from 10:00 PM to 3:00 PM." From her little bag, she took out a card from the place "if you're lucky, maybe, you'll get my number" she winked at me, causing me to giggle "by the way, call me Y/N" she gave my cheek a quick kiss and ran off, feeling the heat rising to my cheeks
"Bye" I tried to say, but Y/N was so far away, that I doubt very much, she managed to hear me.
Much calmer now, I made my way back to the bus and plopped down next to Clint, still a bit dazed from the recent encounter.
"Who is your new friend?"
"GIRL FRIEND" I clarified, still stupefied "it's Sofie"
Note:
Yep, I chose this "theme" because I am a Hyper Queen (I'm just experimenting with my character, Rosa Vagina) Not to mention that, in the Mexican drag community itself, hyper queens are a little touched topic.
I hope you enjoy this.
I appreciate the reblogs, the likes and the comments

on the subject of thor 4 with some spoilers and a lot of me just being hopelessly gay
1 starlord and thor definitely made out at some point and you can't convince me that thor didn't leave specifically because he was catching feelings for starlord, and was pulling away while secretly hoping that starlord would reach out to him and ask him to stay. after i'm done with this i'm opening an ao3 tab and i am looking up fics
2 partway through the movie (after the sink scene) i found myself asking "this isn't going to end up with a poly thor/jane/val relationship because i know the world isn't ready for that but by god do i fucking want it." i will also be opening an ao3 for this as soon as i am done writing this post
3 DWAYNE!!!!!!!!! i was legit crying in the theatre at that point and i literally choked out a combination between a sob and a laugh
4 oh my fUCKING GOD THE PLAY!!! I almost cried laughing when Melissa McCarthy popped through the "portal" as hela.
5 i guess people are mad about how they introduced Axl by having Thor deadname him, and like trying to cancel Taika over it. but my trans ass was just fucking hyped to have a transmasc character like me on screen! also of COURSE thor is a dumbass who would deadname someone because he didn't know what the fuck was going on, someone had to pull him aside after the movie and explain it to him i just know it.
6 when the movie releases to streaming i am going to find the clip of korg narrating about loki dying and i am going to watch it on repeat until my eyes rot
7 the after credits scene that is setting up a sequel was great until they revealed Hercules and it's that fucking guy i keep seeing in gifsets of that soccer show (it is soccer right?? i'm pretty sure it's soccer) that seems like he's in a three way relationship with another soccer dude and their mutual girlfriend. I may have laughed.
8 i remember shortly after the avengers movie when there were apparently talks by marvel to replace Chris Hemsworth, they had apparently seen all the actors but RDJ as as replaceable as Edward Norton was. But today he's in the credits as an executive producer on thor 4. i'm glad
9 STOP KILLING THE PEOPLE THOR LOVES!!! like he' got a daughter and I'm happy for him to have someone to love in his life again but i am so sick of pretty much all the other people he loves dying. I was watching Jane dye in his arms like "NOOOOOOOO" because i realized just how horrible this is for thor to be going through. if you're of adult age and thor cares about you you are at risk of dying and that's not cool.
10 jane was going through chemo, she shoulda been bald whenever she wasn't thor and frankly i'm bothered she wasn't
11 i'm going through the tag and someone got a close up of one of thor's back tattoos that's a list of people he's lost and there is literally a question mark after the name loki and i am crying all over again. he's never going to be sure loki is truly gone because he saw loki die and return two times. thor 5 PLEASE bring loki back, not even because i love loki, because i think thor needs his brother.
12 seeing "THOR WILL RETURN" at the end of the movie gave me big marvel phase 1 vibes. miss that

2 months is too long😭😭 but I guess healing from something so traumatizing takes time . Charlotte is such a good friend, I love how her bubbly personality is distracting y/n a little atleast. And her with thor, you're suck a cupid😂 I can practically feel jane resentment from this. Loki paying rent and following her to work is such a loki thing to do, caring so much but showing so little. He needs a Mamma frigga hug and for her to tell him it's all okay that he's not the one who did this. Yes this was very LISIK loki vibe. Her tying his shoes, picking out his clothes is such an innocent pure expression of the love they have for each other🥺❤. Question tho why didn't he just wear the new clothes Thor bought him?? And coming on concerning matters now We. Need. A. Loki. Flavoured. Popsicle. You are giving me some sinful dreams😂. But also, you shattered my heart when he said where was your god when a monster like me hurt you, that made me want to kill Odin. He's the reason he somehow blames everything on himself even if he was the one being tortured the most. How the hell does someone break someone to this point where they don't even acknowledge their own pain. He needs therapy so bad. Him and y/n should just go away from everything and live alone peacefully. They're too precious for everyone else to be in their presence. Our god and goddess deserve to be put on the pedestal where no monsters could reach them anymore. Damn you make me emotional 😢
🧁
Honestly it takes a whole life to heal from such incidents, they both are doing their best 😭 Charlotte is genuinely nice, she didn't know anything about y/n before they started livin'together, she still doesn't know much but she's still such a good person to y/n, penny Charlotte Ashley, I love the sweet characters I made in this fic ❣️
Actually that's why he was confused, the new clothes thor gave him, reader picked it out from that only, her tying his shoes is such a reader thing to, she truly worships him like a god, someone who is above her and honestly she loves it.
Odin is responsible for several mental problems Loki have, the world monster is too easy for him to relate to because of his frost giant genes :(
I'm so glad you felt emotional reading it, loki has had enough pain and so does reader, they both deserve to receive and give affection to each other

Loki in a relationship rather it be friends or romantic would pull tricks n pranks on his s/o/friend all the time for the chaos aspect of it but also as a show of affection
they would all be harmless things that the person would enjoy and he’d be gloating all “you have been fooled!! prank’d!! utterly bamboozled!!” for something like giving them hot chocolate with tiny marshmallows in it when they only asked for hot chocolate

Falling again and again...
Masterlist (Requests are open!)
Clint Barton x F!Reader Word Count: 1,231
Summary: The three times you fell for Clint Barton, and the one time he fell for you...
A/N: First time writing for Clint, feedback is appreciated^*^ Just a short lil thing, but I'm happy with it!!
2012
The first time Y/N fell for Clint Barton was during the attack on New York. The Chitauri had been attacking the city for nearly 40 minutes and nearly all civilians had been evacuated. However, Y/N was trapped at the top of her work building. The doorway to the stairs had been blocked by debris, and the elevators were smashed to pieces. All she could do was sit and wait, either for rescue or... she shivered, not wanting to even think of the word. She sat at her desk and swivelled her chair to face out of the large hole that was created at the start of the attack. The battle raged on, as her hope for escape dwindles. Her thoughts had drifted off to her family, her pets, if her boss will even care what happened to her.. A stray arrow stole her from her thoughts. It shot just past her face and lodged itself in the wall diagonal from her. Standing up, she had run to the hole and saw a man stood on top of the building next to the one she is currently trapped in. He was holding a bow, loaded with an arrow. She'd recognised him as one of the Avengers! That could be her chance to escape. Taking in a deep breathe, she prepared herself to shout louder than she ever had before. "Hey! Help!," She bellowed, "Over here, I'm trapped!" But he didn't hear her. She took a step forward, hoping the few feet would help him catch even the slightest sound of her despair. "Over her-" She didn't finish her call, the building gave way beneath her. And she was falling... Her throat felt like it closed up, she couldn't bring herself to scream, for help nor fear. Accepting her fate, she closed her eyes and thought only of her family. Again, she was broken from her thoughts. That time however, by an arm wrapping around her waist, and a voice yelling at her to 'Hold on!'. Without second thought, she latched onto the man and tried not to throw up as she's swung through the sky. The pair are soon on solid ground, but Y/N couldn't bring herself to open her eyes and let go of the mystery man. "Open your eyes for me, sweetheart," He encourages, "There you go.. hi. We've only just met and you're already falling for me!" He chuckles at her shocked face. Their moment was interrupted by the fair off scream from one of the attackers. He winks at the woman one more time, and ran back into action.
2015
The second time Y/N fell for Clint Barton was at the Avengers tower. After the attack on New York, her place of work was far from being safe to work in, so her boss had fired everyone without any consideration to the employees. But that was how she had found her way to working for Tony Stark as his head P.A. It was a lot of hard, sometimes confusing, work, however it was perfect for Y/N as she got see the man who saved her life everyday. She had learned that his name was Clint Barton, but goes by Hawkeye to the general public. On her first day at the tower she had ran into him again and thanked him profusely for saving her, but he brushed it off with a simple 'don't mention it!' and a friendly smile. They hadn't spoken much since that day, only a few 'hellos' here and there. That didn't stop a small crush blooming between the pair. Neither mentioned it though, they both thought it would just blow over. Y/N was showing Thor around the newly built landing pad for Thor himself. She was explaining how it was constructed to withstand not only his weight but the large amount of energy that follows him wherever he travels. As she was explaining, she didn't notice the stray parts from Tony's latest construction blocking her path. Clint however, did notice, and jumped up from his place on the couch to catch her just as she trips. Y/N's arms brace for impact, but the fall never happened, for she had found herself in the same position as she was three years prior. Wrapped in Clint Barton's arms. "Wow, falling for me again Y/L/N? You gotta take me out for dinner now" He jokes. But unlike three years ago, Y/N cracks a smile back at him. She thanks him, and jogs to catch up with the Norse god, who seems to have been completely oblivious to the fall. Y/N turned back round to catch Clint's gaze, sent a wink his way, and guided Thor out to the landing pad.
2016
The third time Y/N fell for Clint Barton was at an airport during a battle between the Avengers. After the accords debate, Clint had retired and Y/N hadn't seen him since he left. She missed him a lot. They had been speaking a lot more over the past year, testing the limits of their friendship. She had thought that if maybe the accords hadn't happened, and Clint was still here, then maybe something would have happened between them. But Y/N knew it didn't do well to dwell on 'what ifs'. So instead, she threw herself into her work. She had gotten closer to the other members of the team, specifically Natasha. They both bonded over their mutual friend, and how much they missed him being around. So when the team is split apart, she is heartbroken. She felt pulled in either direction. That was how she had ended up in a random airport in Germany, hoping to at least mend something. She knew it was unlikely, but she had to try. Somehow she ended up in a car park, looking down at the team. They had already started fighting. She spotted Tony next to a jet, and ran down the stairs to catch him. What she hadn't noticed due to her urgency was the man she was searching for turning towards the car park, and heading straight for the archer a floor above her. The first sign of danger for her were the large explosions that shook the concrete stairs beneath her, the second and most worrying sign were the cracks growing between her frozen legs. The floor gives way below her, and she finds herself falling.
The first time Clint fell for Y/N Y/L/N was at an airport during a battle between the Avengers. He had heard her screams of fear, he didn't even know she was there. The archer didn't have to think twice before falling off of his ledge, heading straight for the girl. Luckily, Tony had been distracted by Wanda's light show and had flown off that way. All that Clint could think of was Y/N and the fear of losing her. Time slows down for the pair as they make eye contact, both reaching their hands out for the other. Their hands connect and Clint shoots a cord towards the lower floor of the building. They swung together and landed with a thud, Clint on top of Y/N. They both had a silent realisation, and lunge forwards to share a long awaited kiss. This was the first time they fell together.

I keep thinking about the DB Cooper scene and how little sense it makes. Thor knew remarkably little about Earth in Thor 2011, he didn't even recognize it as Earth without being told where he was. He couldn't have come up with this scheme. I think it was a scene that someone wrote as a pitch for wacky time travel hijinks Loki goes on, but they couldn't figure out how to fit it into the narrative but couldn't bear to trash the scene entirely.
That’s basically what happened. So the “somebody” who had the idea was, surprise surprise, Mike. According to him the DB Cooper scene was, for inexplicable reasons, one of the first things he thought of when he took the job. He apparently just decided that Loki had to be DB Cooper because he thought it was funny or something. And it was one of the first ideas he had. And as we established he almost certainly never watched Thor 2011 and just skimmed a summary so he didn’t know that the joke would completely conflict with that movie (not that he would have cared if he did). Also Loki’s explanation conflicts too bc this took place in the 70s but he says he and Thor were young when it happened even though for him the 70s isn't that long ago as he and Thor are both about 1500 years old. So yeah just another dumb unfunny bit of sloppiness from Mike.
And of course, it wouldn’t be the Loki Series without some contradictory statements. So in addition to saying that it was one of his first ideas `and that he thought it would be funny and cool Mike also gave a different interview where he said this which is a slightly different but still similar origin story:
“People, I think when they heard about this show, they always thought, ‘Okay, it’s Loki traveling through time influencing historical events. So we’re gonna see Loki riding with Paul Revere and doing the most basic, PBS sort of stuff.’ And I got excited about, what is the deep cut, really fun stuff that we can imagine? And I just love DB Cooper. It’s a great piece of American folklore and now it’s canon.”
This basically sounds like “yeah so we wanted to trick people into thinking Loki was gonna be doing cool time travel stuff.” And THEN in yet another interview he said this, which conflicts with the first 2 explanations above (and also makes no sense):
“I needed just an example of what is a time that you might think the TVA should have intervened in his life but didn’t. We wanted to have a few examples of historical events and everything but nothing too obvious. That just felt like that kind of sweet spot deep-cut to drop in.”
Why he thinks the audience would assume the TVA wouldn’t allow that I don’t know. Because Loki didn’t time travel to be DB Cooper.

A Princess. A Queen. A Wife. A Mother.
Tumblr media
Medieval Au
Princess Y/N Stark of York New must marry a man chosen by her brother, by the time she is 21. Her brother's council have the perfect man in mind, one that is terrifying and hell bent on having his Queen. But Princess Y/N's heart belongs to another, and luckily so does her hand in marriage.
A princess is far more powerful than a king, my love. You have the power of merging families and kingdoms. You have the power of carrying hopeful heirs to the throne. You have more power than you know...'

<Part 8<
"What's the matter, Princess?" Lady Natasha asked.
The two of you were taking a stroll through the castle gardens before you had to begin getting ready for the ball. You had thought the time leading up to the ball would drag, giving you time to prepare yourself, but it seemed a month was no time at all to prepare yourself for meeting your possible future husband.
"Oh, nothing really, Natasha," You let out a heavy sigh as you came to a stop beside the rose bushes. You pinched one between your thumb and fingers, breaking the stem and lifted it to your nose, breathing in its floral scent. "Just dreading this evening, I think."
"But you have nothing to dread. It's just a ball, Your Highness." Natasha smiled at you.
You nodded, "I know but," You let out a soft sigh and looked at her. "I don't think King Steven will be attending." You frowned.
"There's still no word from him?" Natasha frowned.
You shook your head, "I don't think he's never attended a ball we've thrown, other than when he was at war." Your frown deepened at the thought of him fighting in battle. "It's not just Steven, I'll miss if he doesn't attend. There's James, and Samuel... anyone who comes with him, really." You chuckled to yourself, "They are far more interesting than anyone from here."
Natasha giggled, "I know what you mean, Princess."
You grinned at her. "I bet you do. How many times did you disappear with Sir James whilst we were in Brook?" You teased.
She began blushing and looked away. "You mean how many times did Lady Wanda disappear with Sir Samuel?"
Your eyes widened with a gasp. You reached out and took hold of her hand. "I thought it was just a crush?"
Natasha shook her head grinning. "Not anymore. Sir Samuel asked her to accompany him on a walk of the gardens multiple times whilst we were there, and they shared a kiss on the last night we spent there."
"Oh, wonderful." You sighed happily, "She deserves a little happiness. I'm glad she got to see her brother whilst we were there as well."
Lady Wanda's brother, Sir Pietro, was one of King Steven's knights. As a mark of respect for Anthony and the kingdom of York New, King Steven moved Lady Wanda to your court so she could be one of your ladies-in-waiting. It was two birds with one stone, he had no need of a lady-in-waiting in his castle due to the lack of female presence, and he knew she would be welcomed with open arms. He knew you would become one of her close friends in no time because you were such a caring and loving person.
"I hope you got to visit Sir Clint and his family whilst we were there?" You asked hopeful that your friend got to see the small family that she was so close to.
She nodded with the biggest grin on her face. "I did, Princess. Baby Nathanael is going to be strong like his father."
"I'm glad to hear. I must try to visit the next time I visit, Brook." You reminded yourself.
"Your Highness," Peter called out as he ran down the stairs and up to you and Natasha. You gave him a smile as you turned around to face him. "King Anthony wanted me to let you know that the Kings are about to arrive."
"Oh," Your voice was barely above a whisper. "I best, greet them then, hadn't I." You gulped, giving Peter a panicked look.
Peter stepped closer to you and gave you an encouraging smile, "There's nothing to fear, Princess. I'll be there to protect you. And Lady Natasha and Lady Wanda will also be close by. I'm sure the two of them can scare any unwanted attention off if you wish them to." He sent you a wink along with a cheeky smirk, putting a genuine smile on your face.
"Oy," Lady Natasha smacked the back of her hand against Peter's shoulder playfully. You let out a giggle as you looped your arm with Natasha's. "He's not wrong though, Princess. We'd gladly beat anyone you asked us to." She giggled making you laugh even more.
You nodded, "Yes, I do believe you would." You smiled at her. "But for now, we need to greet our guests or we shall all be in trouble." You smiled at Natasha and Peter. "Shall we,"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"It's a pleasure to see you again, King Thor," You greeted the King of Asgard with a small smile. You began blushing as he pressed a soft kiss to the back of your knuckles.
"The pleasure is all mine, Princess Y/N. You are more beautiful than your portrait does you justice." The King of Asgard gave you a flirtatious smile.
Your eyes widened a little, "So, you thought I wasn't beautiful when you saw my portrait?" You asked playfully, not being able to help yourself.
King Thor's mouth opened and closed before he looked away from you and up to your brother who began laughing. "I-"
"You are a fool, dear brother," Prince Loki snickered as he stepped from King Thor's side and took your hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you again, Princess Y/N. You've most certainly grown into an even more beautiful woman than the last time we met." He bowed to you.
"Thank you, Prince Loki." You quickly withdrew your hand and stepped closer to your brother.
"Gentlemen, if you'd like to follow Sir Hank he will escort you inside." Tony smiled warmly at his friend and his brother. He turned to face you with nce the pair of you were left alone. "Not so bad, is it?" He asked with a pleased smile.
You hummed. "We've only exchanged greetings, Anthony." You sighed, looking over towards the gate with a hopeful look in your eyes.
King T'Challa, the King of Wakanda had already arrived and just like last time you met him, he was a kind man and didn't make you feel uncomfortable like King Thor had. The Asgardian king was also harmless, just a bit openly obvious of his... kingly duties towards women. Prince Loki however, you weren't so sure about him, he gave off unsettling vibes but you knew for sure he was not going to be your future husband. The deep scowl your brother wore made that obvious.
"Are we expecting anymore guests?" You looked away from the gates to your brother.
Anthony nodded, "One or two other kings whom you've never had the pleasure of meeting before." He smiled softly at you. "Why?" He asked with a raised eyebrow as you let out a disappointed sigh.
You shook your head, "No... reason... may I be, excused from meeting the other kings at this moment in time? I don't feel, all that up to it, and I much rather rest and be... fighting fit for this evening. I'll make sure to spend extra time with them." You gave your brother a tight lipped smile.
Anthony nodded, "Of course, Y/N. I'll have lunch sent up to you, for you and your ladies."
"Thank you, Tony," You leaned up on your tiptoes and pressed a kiss to your brother's cheek. "Until this evening then, brother." You bowed to him before turning and leaving your brother's side.
It took everything in you not to show your disappointment or to let the tears that were threatening to fall to run down your cheeks.
"Come, Lady Natasha," You smiled at her as you once again slipped your arm through hers, "I'm to rest for the rest of the day until this evening." You smiled at her, "I'm going to need it if I'm to keep a fake smile on my face all evening."
Natasha nodded, "Oh, don't think it will be fake all evening, Your Highness. You seemed to genuinely smile when speaking to King T'Challa." She grinned at you.
You hummed with a nod, "I do quite like the King of Wakanda," You smiled with a slight blush. "He is a kind man, James said so himself," You wiggled your eyebrows at her making her giggle.
"And the King of Asgard? Is he a kind man?" She smirked at you knowingly.
You let out a soft sigh and leaned close so only she may hear your next words, "I believe his brains are in his breeches." You giggled along with her.
"I've heard he's a mighty lover, almost as if he was a God." Natasha whispered, "At least if you were to become his Queen that would be a positive. Most men are selfish lovers..." She sighed softly.
"Is Sir James?" You teased, letting out a playful giggle as Natasha let out a startled gasp.
"Princess, how dare you ask such a question?" She burst out laughing along with you. "I am in no position answer."
"You're not denying it either." You snickered.
As you came to your chambers the two of you stopped your giggling, bowing to the knights that were standing guard before heading inside. The door had barely been shut a minute before it was flung open and Lady Wanda skipped in extremely excited.
"Ah, Princess, there you are," She grinned at you. "I've been looking everywhere for you."
"You have?" You asked, sitting in the armchair that was by the fire. "And why would that be, Lady Wanda?"
"I've been making sure everything you require for the ball is prepared for you." She answered with a grin, "And your gown is just beautiful," She swooned.
"You really think so?" You asked. You chewed on the inside of your cheek nervously. You weren't sure if you had made a wise decision with your gown. It was most certainly different from the appropriate attire that a proper princess should wear. "I was a little worried it may perceive me as... a whore, or unladylike."
Both of your ladies-in-waiting let out a shocked gasp, "Princess, you can't think things like that."
"Lady Natasha is right, Princess. You will look breathtaking in your gown, I swear on the Kings life." She admitted.
You blushed at her words and gave her a thankful smile. "Be careful no one hears you say that, Lady Wanda." You smiled at her. "But thank you," You stood up from your chair walked towards her and Lady Natasha. "And I am sure the two of you will look equally as beautiful."
"Thank you, Princess," Both your ladies-in-waiting smiled at you.
"Now, there should be lunch on the way up, and I would like for the two of you to join me." You smiled at them, taking a hold of their hands. "Then I think, since the three of us have nothing to do for a while, we should take a nap." You grinned.
"Agreed!" The three of you began laughing.
Trying to make it racist to ship to stucky so that sambucky will become more popular isn’t going to work. People connect with characters and ships through fanfiction and art not through other fans moralizing them. In fact that can have the exact opposite effect. There are a lot of people shipping sambucky. Focus on spreading fanfiction and art about them and watch more people fall for the pairing. Both ships make sense in canon so let people who ship stucky ship them. There is room for both.
I never said if you ship Stucky you are racist. Or if you shipped anything but SamBucky you are racist. I don't expect everyone to love an appreciate Sam Wilson like I do. People like what they like and I am not going to force them to like my ship because then they won't have the same appreciation. So you need to climb off your soap box and chill.
I swear, ya'll act like Marvel Cinematic Universe diversity was A1. It was not in the beginning. Ya'll remember the first Avengers movie, back when the only diversity was the cg green guy and a white woman? Even Avengers 2 was the same cast of white heroes. Lol, it took me until Infinity Wars to realize that every major white hero happened to have a token black sidekick/friend. Like Tony had Rhodey, who was in Avengers but didn't contribute to the final boss battle. Like Steve who had Sam, who does think for himself, but was there to help him hide, find Bucky, and didn't even get let in on Steve's man to live most his life with Peggy. Or like Thor who I learned Heimdall of all people was his best friend, but paid him no never mind while he was out having fun with his white friends.
In Doctor Strange they gave the role of the Ancient One who was supposed to be played by an Asian, to a white woman, which basically white-washed the role and cause an uproar in the Asian community. You had Simu Liu defending his solo Asian movie Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings to the Disney CEO who called his movie an 'interesting experiment'. Let's not forget the fans being all pissy about having Netflix's Luke Cage and Black Panther featuring a predominately black cast when there was tons of predominately white marvel/mcu tv/movies before and after that.
I mean the fact the fact that Joe Kirby and Stan Lee created the first black superhero that didn't have 'Black' in front of their name, with Sam Wilson, should be applauded. But too blatantly ignore that there is still racism in MCU movies, TV shows and in the Fandom itself is dumb. Marvel has gotten. A lot better at diversifying and they are more than likely going to get better with time. Especially if they diversify their directors, producers, and writers.
If you love stucky. Ship your ship. I honestly don't care. As long as you respect my ship. I will respect yours. My original post was asking why people didn't recognize sambucky more because of how beneficial their relationship was and how Steve x Peggy is now canon. If you check my comments section, many have also pointed to race. So I am not the only one.
Too make a long story short, I'm not just throwing race cards down just because. Marvel's MCU took a while before they diversified and gave solo hero movies to not just minorities but women. I'm not accusing anyone who doesn't ship my ship as being racist or hating on sam wilson. But I have noticed how people tend to use sam wilson as a fill in for Steve rogers when their ship tanks in fanfics. Or use him as a prop in fanfics to antagonize Bucky or being the token black friend whose only job it is to help his white friends find love or work through mental issues. He is not a love guru, bully or free therapist. Sam Wilson deserves love too.
Ship want you want, but put some respect on Sam Wilson's name. Don't shut up and dribble me Anonymous. Ya'll keep coming to my blog, like I ain't state my personal love for all things Stackie and SamBucky and showed my willingness to fight for my ship. If you don't like what I'm shipping then get the fuck off my blog.
Natasha as well as other Avengers has showed remorse for her actions and became a better person and a hero by saving people and the world, Loki didn't. He's a cool character and good villain but he's not written like that because writers have some prejudice against him. He was always meant to be a bad guy.
I can’t tell if you’re arguing that Loki genuinely never showed remorse and that’s what makes him a villain over the rest of the Avengers, or if you’re arguing that the narrative has never allowed Loki to show remorse, thus cementing his villain status.
Because, really, it’s the latter. There has never been any room or opportunity in the story for Loki to express any remorse, and even if there was, who would he express it to? To Thor, whom by the time The Dark World began was 500% done with Loki and wouldn’t have heard him out anyway? To Odin, who 1) literally disowned Loki like he was trash (”your birthright was to die”) and 2) had so many war crimes under his belt I’m surprised he could even buckle it? The Avengers? The Warriors Three + Heimdall, who all committed treason against Loki pretty much the same day he was made regent?
This is the whole problem. Because the narrative needs Loki to be the villain, they have to manipulate the rest of the story in order for it to fit even though he is not truly a villain at heart. They delete scenes that portray him sympathetically or provide any justifiable context to his actions; they position the other characters - Loki’s family and friends - as distrustful and suspicious of him, for no real reason except that he’s Loki. He’s pushed to his breaking point and then, when the smoke clears and he’s left to face the consequences of what he’s done, no one around him cares to ask why.
Natasha has the opportunity to show remorse because Clint gave her that opportunity. he saw something in her and “made a different call.” Nobody, not even Thor, has ever done that for Loki.
There’s this inherent implication in the argument of “well, Loki never showed remorse” that Loki should have shown up subservient and disgraced, falling to his knees for forgiveness while everyone around him contemptuously decided whether or not they felt like giving it. Not only would Loki never do that, out of principle alone, but no one else is held to that same expectation.
Everyone else in the story has been given the opportunity to show their remorse through their actions or because someone else has seen the potential in them or even just taken the time to listen to them. But Loki - no one bothers to ask, no one gives him the benefit of the doubt. And furthermore, when Loki does show remorese through his actions and literally sacrifices his life for Thor, it’s still somehow not enough to prove that Loki is a good person. The narrative even takes it a step further and undermines it by retconning his death and acting like he faked it for the lulz. No other character is treated that way.
This thought bugged me at 3am in the morning. This is just the rant my head started.
The first time Thor seriously messed up, Odin gave him a chance to prove himself right away, the first time Loki seriously messed up (even tho the attack on ny wasn't his fault, which is the only crime Odin seemed to care about), Odin locked him away for life without even a chance to explain himself. (Even tho Odin banished Thor, he sent his hammer with him which means he assumed he'd prove himself worthy again without any further punishment) (while Loki didn't even get a chance to explain that the attack on NYC wasn't his fault or even explain anything that happened after his fall from the bifrost)
Tbh, I don't think Loki would have told the truth about what happened to him even if anyone had cared enough to ask. There are a number of reasons for that, but I'll just link to this excellent post by @magicmastered that outlines many of them. But basically, for Loki to tell the truth would be to make himself extremely vulnerable to people who have only ever taken advantage of and manipulated him. It's horrible, but because of the things he's experienced—both before and after Thanos—Loki would rather be seen as a cold-blooded killer than a victim. He would rather be hated than pitied.
The thing I think we need to understand about Odin is that he did not actually banish Thor or imprison Loki for moral reasons. That is just the excuse he uses. He banishes Thor for disobedience and for wounding his pride (it's noteworthy that he doesn't make that decision until right after Thor dismisses him as "an old man and a fool"). He imprisons Loki for embarrassing him (and one could even say outright challenging him, since the Nine Realms are at least ostensibly under his control protection) and, probably even more significantly, failing to show him due deference upon his return. Perhaps the old Loki would have apologised, begged for forgiveness, bent over backwards to make things right and prove his loyalty again. That Loki is long gone now. He not only doesn't grovel; he goes out of his way to make a mockery of the entire situation. He dares to point out Odin's hypocrisy to his face. Odin has lost control of his second son; that much is obvious. And that makes Loki all but useless to him. It's not that Thor's war crimes are redeemable and Loki's aren't; it's that Thor's respect is retrievable and Loki's isn't.
Loki was sitting on a bed, staring with with almost lifeless eyes at the bed sheets he held fisted tight in his hands. Any second now...
As if summoned by Loki's thoughts, a figure popped into existence, all glowing blue skin and blue eyes dark as he walked over to Loki's still form.
Tess said nothing even as he sat down and wrapped his arms around Loki who didn't resist the comforting gesture, turning into Space's side.
"How are you feeling?" Tess asked finally once Loki was settled comfortably.
Loki tried to figure that out. He had been for over a year or so now. He wasn't sure entirely how much time had passed. If he was honest, he'd say he felt nothing. Empty and numb.
He didn't say that, only shrugged. It wasn't like he could lie. If he did, Tess would find out the truth from Soul who only needed to touch Loki's skin to find out what he was feeling and had done so before even when Loki had insisted on her to stop.
'For your own safety,' was all she said before violating his thoughts and feelings.
"Are you unhappy?" Tess asked with a slight frown, interrupting Loki's thoughts. "Is something wrong?"
'Yes,' Loki thought as he squeezed his eyes shut tight and shook his head.
Tess wasn't convinced. He never was. "If there is something you need or want, you can always ask us. We'll do whatever you need to be happy. You know we will."
Loki did know. That's what frightened him. He was scared to speak a word around them all anymore for the exact reason that they'd do anything neccessary for his own wellbeing.
They had killed Thanos after everything the Mad Titan had put Loki through to force him to attack New York to get Tess from those Midgardian's.
Power had been the one to bring back Thanos' decapitated head to Loki with the assurances that the Titan had suffered greatly before he died. Loki had both felt relieved and sick as he stared at Thanos' mutilated head, barely recognizable that if he hadn't been told it was Thanos he would never have guessed so.
Loki had been foolish to think it was a one time thing. He told himself they were all simply protective of him was all.
And Loki hadn't been lying. They all were protective of him. Very much so.
It was when Loki had let slip Odin's neglect and the hurt Loki had felt for never feeling good enough that he found at how much power and damage his words could cause if he wasn't careful. Loki had nearly been sick when Reality came to him, tossing a single blue eyeball in his hand as he explained what they'd done to the old king before ripping the one good eyeball from his eye socket and shortly after, killing him.
Loki learned to shut his mouth around them all, afraid of what they'd do to anyone else Loki spoke of that had hurt him. Yes, he felt some satisfaction that they were no longer able to hurt him but he couldn't enjoy it when he knew what they had gone through before they died. He never asked for anyone to die.
But then Loki started getting hurt. When he fought in battle against enemies or simply because he hadn't been paying enough attention to what he was doing.
They didn't like it at all. They all hated seeing Loki hurt and after Time mentioning seeing a time where Loki had died, they got even more paranoid. So they took him away from it all to somewhere they promised he'd be completely safe.
Loki had been furious at first. They couldn't just take him away from his life! But they had and they only gave Loki sad smiles when he screamed at them about betrayal.
Loki had tried to hurt himself, just to show they couldn't always protect him but found it impossible. He threw his fists at the wall but there was in invisible barrier between him and the wall that made it impossible to connect his fist. He tried scratching at his arms but the same thing happened. He tried to 'accidentally' trip but he never hit the floor, simply floating until he lightly touched the floor.
He couldn't injure himself.
So he screamed and he raged and he demanded to be let out of the room they'd stuck him in but nothing. They visited all the time but they never let him out again.
His anger had turned to a deep depression where he'd sit on his bed or on the floor and stare at the door across the room that never opened. A cruel joke to him, having a door that he couldn't open.
His magic was practically useless wherever he was. He'd tried to use it, even against his lovers who never got angry when something was thrown at them but seemed even more sad each time it happened. He couldn't use his magic to leave.
He was trapped.
Eventually, Loki accepted that he couldn't escape. Not by himself at least. He calmed down at any rate which had pleased the stones though Loki felt deadened inside.
The depression had gotten even worse after they killed his brother. Loki hadn't realized what he'd said until it was too late. It had been a simple mention of Thor always getting the attention and being Thor's shadow.
Loki hadn't been gifted with any body part of Thor's but the stones spoke about it to him, what they'd done before they killed him. Loki had been in horror and shock, unable to process that Thor was dead. He had been sick nearly over a month after that, walking up screaming from nightmares and crying whenever the stones tried to make him feel better. How could he ever feel better?
He'd gotten his brother killed.
After that, Loki had gone numb.
Tess visited the most. Loki had no idea where they went when they weren't with him but he found himself lonely when they weren't there. He normally wasn't left alone for long though. Despite everything, he still loved them. That's what he hated most about his situation. He shouldn't love them anymore but he did.
He did.
"Can I..." Loki swallowed hard, letting out a shaky breath. "Can I come out now? I'll...I'll be careful, I promise—"
Tess was already shaking his head, tightening his hold on Loki. "It's too dangerous. You could be hurt."
"Please, I'll be careful. I swear," Loki pleaded, becoming desperate every day he was trapped. He knew asking would do no good. Tess would never relent but he still got his hopes up even if it was for them to be crushed again.
"Hush, you're speaking nonsense. You're safe here," Tess shushed him.
Loki felt frustrated tears gather in his eyes. "But—"
"I said no," Tess said with a frown. "I let you have anything you want but you know the rules. You must stay here, where you're safe."
Loki went to speak again before another figure appeared right on the bed in front of them.
Loki shook his head, glancing away from Mind who looked at Tess. "Is everything okay? Why is he crying?"
Tess frowned deeply. "He wants to go outside again. It'll pass."
"Oh," Mind said before shaking her head as she drew closer. "That's too dangerous."
Loki wanted to scream but he only shook in Tess' hold as Mind reached for him, cupping his face between her hands.
"P-please, let me go," Loki whispered, tears slipping down his cheeks. "Please, d-don't—"
Mind hushed him as she kissed him softly, Loki making a weak noise of protest but could do nothing with Tess' arms crossed over his own.
Loki didn't see how Mind's hand pulsed a soft golden yellow, a trail of her power seemingly sinking into Loki's skin but he felt it as a sense of calmness and love for the people protecting him sink into his mind, making him go lax and pliant in Tess' arms.
"We love you," Tess murmured into his ear as Mind drew away and Loki took a shuddering breath.
"I...I love you all too," Loki said finally. Mind and Tess smiled at one another as Loki sighed and closed his eyes, relaxing fully into Tess' embrace.
He was safe. He had all of them to take care of him. He couldn't be hurt anymore.
Why would he ever want to go back outside?
"How have you been James?”
Bucky looks out the window to his right. Hands grasped together in his lap as he sits on the dark green sofa across from the woman he's been seeing for the last 5 months.
He ponders the question, making sure to answer it honestly. He looks back at her giving her his full attention again.
"Good," he answers truthfully, a small smile planted on his face. Life has been good. School is going incredibly well. My job is going better than I could've imagined. Really learning a lot."
"How are things going with Natasha?" The older lady asks.
“Great. Really great," Bucky says with a slightly bigger smile.
"Good. I'm glad to hear that," she smiles back, proud to the see progress James has made since his first visit moths ago.
After the blow up he and Steve had, Bucky fell into a depressive state. He refused to talk to anyone about what had happened. It wasn't until his younger sister Rebecca came to talk to him:
"I get you don't want to talk to any of us about what happened last week," she said as Bucky laid in bed looking out the window, his back facing her, "But you can't just stay in bed, hiding for the world. Starving yourself isn't going to solve anything.
"Sulking is only going to make you worse. It's not healthy, Buck. We're all worried. Ma is incredibly worried. She's barely been eating. I hear her wandering the house at all hours, because she can't sleep."
"You don't want to talk to us, fine. But you need to talk to someone. If not for yourself, but for Ma. Please," she begs, before leaving Bucky alone to ponder what she said.
He knew he wasn't coping the healthy way. He hadn't realized how much he was affecting his family by shutting down. The last thing he wanted to do was worry his mother. So he got himself up, took a shower, ate breakfast with his family. They were surprised to see him come down, but tried not to draw any extra attention to it. Rebecca gave him an understanding nod, which he reciprocated. After breakfast, he began his research. He decided to listen to Rebecca's advice and find someone to talk to someone to help him make sense of what is going on in his mind.
And that's how he ended up in Dr. Abraham's office.
"Have you contacted Steve yet?" She asks.
"No," he answered fiddling with his fingers, "I feel embarrassed about the way I reacted."
"That's normal, James," she assured him, "But in order to repair any damage that's been cost, you need to talk to Steve. To move forward. From what you've told me he's a very understanding person. I'm sure once you've apologized and explain to him the steps you've taken to help your mental health, I'm sure he'd be willing to accept you back into his life."
"I'm not so sure," he looked down at his hands.
"You won't know until you've tried. Listen, I'm not here to tell you what to do or what not to do. I'm just here to help you navigate your thoughts a little better. In a more healthy way. If you're really serious about living a more healthier mental life, I think you should talk to him. You don't want to really throw this lifelong friendship away, do you?"
"No, I don't," he shakes his head.
"Good. Remember to be honest," she tells him, "Vulnerability isn't a bad thing. Your feelings aren't a nuisance. it's how you handle them is what matters. I'm not saying you have to talk to him as soon as you walkout of here. I just want you to start making the notion of doing so. Our time is just about up, how about we do this. Some homework for the week.
"I want you to write a letter to Steve. Bring it in next week, you don't have to read it. But I would like to discuss it. What do you say?"
"Okay, I could do that," he agreed.
Christmas week
Steve and Elizabeth flew back home a few days before Christmas. They put their bags in the trunk of their rental car.
The car ride was silent for awhile, both tired after a long flight, now sitting in traffic on their way back to their parents' place. This would be their first time back to Brooklyn since the whole Bucky situation. The road trip back to California was fun, but there was a looming sadness over Steve. It's not like he regrets standing up to Bucky he doesn't. He just wishes thing would've played out differently. He really wished Bucky would've talked to him before he left back to California.
"How are you feeling about being back?" Elizabeth asks, while they sat in traffic.
"I don't know," Steve sighs, "Feels weird going back home and not talking to Bucky."
"Maybe you should try calling him. It's been a few months. I'm sure he'd be willing to hear you out," she said, rubbing his right arm.
"I don't want to push him," Steve said through gritted teeth, his grip on the steering wheel getting tighter.
Bucky had been a touchy subject the last few months. During the first month Elizabeth would ask Steve if he'd heard from him, the answer always being no, followed by Steve shutting down. After that Elizabeth stopped asking, noticing how much it was affecting Steve, but the constant reminder of it wasn't helping. She knew that if Bucky ever did call, Steve would tell her. The only thing she could do was be patient and be there for Steve whenever he needed her.
The holidays kept everyone busy. On Christmas Eve. Steve spent it with Elizabeth's family at her grandma's house. Elizabeth found herself watching Steve play with her younger cousins, she couldn't help but giggle when they roped him into a tea party. She found herself imagining a future where Steve would do the same with their own children. She quickly shook the daydream away. Reprimanding herself a little for even thinking about kids at their young age.
On Christmas morning Elizabeth and Steve spent it with his parents. It was a nice peaceful day just lounging around in their pajamas. For dinner, Elizabeth's parents went over to have dinner at the Rogers' house. It was a nice little send off dinner for their parents who were leaving for Mexico to spend the New Years for a couples' getaway.
Elizabeth and Steve were heading to the Hamptons to spent NYE with Wanda, Thor, Loki, and Scott. They had planned to have a nice, peaceful trip.
While Steve and Elizabeth were at the Hamptons, Bucky and Natasha were spending their NYE at his family's beach cottage in Port Washington.
They were cuddled on the couch surrounded by take out containers, watching the New Years Eve special waiting for midnight to happen.
Bucky got up about 15 minutes to midnight to grab something from the kitchen. He walked back into the room with a new bottle of champagne and two champagne flutes.
"Got some champagne," he said holding it up for Natasha to see.
"Um," Natasha awkwardly shifted in her seat, "Actually about that."
Bucky looked at Nat confused, putting the bottle and flutes down on the coffee table before sitting back down next to her.
"What's wrong" he asked, grabbing the tv remote to mute the tv, and give Natasha his full undivided attention.
"So there's something I haven't told you," she says looking down at her fidgeting fingers.
"You're worrying me Nat," Bucky said, grabbing her hands to help ease her nerves
She looked up to meet his worry filled eyes.
"I'm pregnant," she announced.
Bucky eyes widen at her announcement, instantly dropping her hands. The look on her face showing she was telling the truth.
"How is that possible?" He asks in disbelief, "We've been so careful. We use double the protection. Condoms and you're on the pill."
"Actually about that," she nervously shifted under his intense gaze, "I haven't been on birth control in a little over two months."
"What?" Bucky yelled, quickly rising from his seat, "What do you mean you haven't been on birth control in a little over two months?"
"I got off of it," she shrugged trying to play it off, "It's my body and I can do what I want with it. And I just wanted to give my body a break, I've been on the pill since I was 15."
"I get it's your body, Natasha, I'm all for you doing whatever you want," he stresses, "but you should've told me. I'm your boyfriend, we have sex frequently. You should've at least had the respect of your sexual partner, letting him know that you were no longer on birth control. So in that case I could've been a tad more careful."
"We were using condoms," she half heartedly defended herself.
"They aren't 100% effective Natasha," he gripped his hair, in complete disbelief over this entire conversation, "You even know that. That also doesn't defend yourself for not telling me. You should've told me."
"I'm sorry. It's not like I was planning for this to happen," she yelled.
Bucky just stared at her like she just grew two heads. How is she not freaking out, he thought. They were clearly way too young for this. Which is why they took precautionary measures.
After a few moments of silence Natasha spoke up, "I'm keeping the baby."
Bucky didn't know what to say. He felt the room closing in on him. He started having a hard time catching his breath.
"James," Natasha quietly said, getting up to check on him. He raised his hand, silently telling her to stay where she's at.
He headed for the back door, the house felt too suffocating for him. He walked through the the small yard to the gate that led to the beach. Stumbling around.
To a stranger they would just think he's drunk. In reality he was just having a panic attack.
It was all too much. His mind was racing.
She's pregnant. With a baby. My baby. I'm going to have a kid. I'm going to be a dad. I'm not ready to be a dad. My dad was shit. God I can't be like my dad. I'm not ready for all of this.
He put his hands on his knees, hunched over trying to catch his breath. But he just couldn't. He did the only thing he could think of. He pulled out his phone and dialed the only person he knew would help.
Steve and Elizabeth were laughing with their friends, waiting for the countdown to begin. Steve felt his phone vibrating in his pocket. He moved his shoulder off of the back of the couch, where Elizabeth was cuddled up against.
He pulled his phone out and his heart dropped at the name that appeared. He quickly got up and walked out of the living room and upstairs to the room where he was staying in for the week.
Wanda raised her eyebrow at Elizabeth, who just shrugged her shoulders, equally as confused.
"Bucky?" Steve answered the phone, closing the door behind him. He could hear Bucky hyperventilating on the other side.
"Steve," he tried to get out.
"Buck, what's wrong?" Steve asked, pressing the phone even closer to his ear the sound of everyone downstairs counting down to midnight.
"Steve, I-," Bucky was struggling to get out.
"Buck, please try to calm down," Steve stressed, "Inhale, hold it for a few seconds and then exhale. You need to calm down. I can't help you, if I can't understand you."
Bucky tried his best to calm himself down, with Steve talking him through it.
"Now, can you explain to me what's wrong?" Steve asked, hearing Bucky's breathing leveling out more.
"I-I'm not re-ready Steve," Bucky stutters, sniffling his nose.
"It's okay take your time, I'm here whenever you're ready."
"No, it's Natasha.”
"What's Natasha? Is she okay?" Steve questioned, getting more concerned.
"Yes, she's fi-ine," he stuttered again, trying to say the words.
"Where are you Buck?" Steve asked, looking around for his shoes and keys.
"I'm at the beach cottage."
"I'm in the Hamptons. Is there any way you can meet me back at my place?"
"Yeah, I think I can," Bucky said a bit more calmer now.
"Okay, I'll see you soon."
When midnight struck Elizabeth went upstairs to check on Steve, making sure everything was okay. She could hear him on the phone talking to Bucky, trying to calm him down. She waited outside of the door to give them some privacy.
Twenty minutes later Wanda went to go check on them, to find Elizabeth sitting on the floor.
"Is everything okay?" She whispered.
"I don't know," she answered, "I'm waiting for Steve. You can head back down, I'll be down shortly."
"Okay. We're here if you guys need anything," Wanda said before walking back down.
After another 25 minutes Elizabeth heard Steve hang up the phone. She softly knocked on the door, and let herself in. She walked in to see Steve frantically going around the room collecting his things.
"Steve is everything okay?"
"It's Buck. He called me while he was having a panic attack. Something about Natasha," he tells her.
"Is she okay?"
"I think so. I was able to calm him down. I need to get back home," he said putting his things in his suitcase.
"Okay. I completely understand. Do you want me to go with you for the drive?" She asked.
"I don't want you to have to cut your time here short," he says, feeling guilty for bringing this on her.
"Steve, something is clearly going on with Bucky. I want you to go to him, but maybe it's best if I drove. I haven't had a drink in hours, and you seem too frantic. Please let me help," she pleaded, placing her hand on his stopping him.
Steve looked up and noticed the worry on Elizabeth's face.
"Okay," he gave in, "We'll need to leave as soon as we can."
Elizabeth nodded, quickly grabbing her weekender bag and start shoving things in. If they forgot anything's he knew Wanda would bring it back.
They said their quick goodbyes and were on the road within 5 minutes, with Elizabeth behind the wheel and Steve fidgeting in the passenger seat.
Bucky took a few minutes to himself on the beach, trying to make sure his anxiety was at rest before he headed back inside. When he entered the house, Natasha shot up from her seat.
"Happy New Years," she awkwardly said, trying to cut the obvious tension.
"Umm," Bucky scratched his head looking everywhere but at Natasha, "We need to leave."
"What?"
"I mean, you can stay if you want and I'll pick you up tomorrow," he rephrased, "But I can't stay here. I need to go. Steve is meeting me at his house."
"Steve?" She was taken back by that mention, not expecting to hear Bucky say his name. He hasn't mentioned Steve in months.
"Yeah, I called him," Bucky says rubbing the back of his neck.
"Well that's good right?"
"Yeah, listen. I really need to go, so are you going to stay or come with me?"
"To see Steve?"
"No. I would drop you off at your place," he tells her, "I'm seeing Steve alone."
"Will she be there?"
Natasha didn't really know exactly why Steve and Bucky weren't talking, at first. Then she heard that Steve and Elizabeth were dating, and it all made sense. The only person that could tear Bucky and Steve apart. She never told Bucky that she knew. Figured it wasn't worth the fight. Especially not now when she was carrying his child.
To an outsider it might seem like she got pregnant on purpose, but that wasn't the case. She knew they were too young for this, at least that's what she thought when she first found out about the pregnancy a week ago. But now that she's sat with it she's taking it as a sign that this is meant to happen. She's just really hoping that Bucky would see it, if not now but eventually.
"Listen, Natasha, I don't have time for this," he looks her in the eyes, "Are you coming or not?"
"I'll get my bag," she remarked with a snark tone, walking passed him to their shared room.
A couple of hours later Bucky was pulling up in front of the Rogers' house. 2:15 am read the clock in his car. He looked to his right, out the passenger side window to see a dark figure sat on the front steps of the house.
Bucky took one last breath before exiting the vehicle.
As soon as he opened the front gate Steve stood up from where he was sat on the stairs.
Once Bucky approached him both young men threw their arms around each other. Gripping each other tightly, fighting back the tears that threatened to fall. They stayed like that for awhile. Relishing in the comfort of being back in each other's arms. Their silent fight no longer important. All they knew in that moment was everything was going to be okay, because no matter what they'll always have each other.
Steve walked into his parents' living room holding two mugs of coffee. As he rounded the couch, he handed one to Bucky.
"Sorry, if I ruined any of your plans," Bucky apologized, "Tell Elizabeth I'm sorry for taking you away."
'Buck, don't worry about it," Steve waved him off, "She completely understands. And truth be told, I wasn't necessarily feeling in the New Year's mood."
"Yeah," Bucky sighs.
"Do you want to talk about what happened tonight?" Bucky nods his head, placing the coffee mug on the coffee table in front of him. He shifted his body to the left to face Steve.
"She's pregnant," he announces.
"What?" Steve asked, not expecting that to be the reason, he quickly placed his mug next to Bucky's.
"Yeah, my reaction exactly," Bucky said.
"What? How?"
"Apparently Natasha hasn't been on the pill in a couple of months," Bucky explains, "And even though we always used condoms, they aren't exactly 100% effective."
"Did you know she wasn't on the pill?"
"Nope," Bucky tells him, "If I knew I wouldn't been a bit more cautious."
"So she told you she was pregnant?" Steve said getting back to it.
"Yeah. She was so nonchalant about it. Like it was no big deal," Bucky stressed,
"How is she just so calm. We're not prepared for this. I'm not ready for this Steve. I can't be a dad. I don't even know how to be a decent human being."
"That's not true Buck," Steve disagreed.
"Come on Steve, we haven't talked in months, and we both know it's not because you didn't try," Bucky says, "I was so caught up in my own jealousy. And selfishness, that I never even considered your feelings or Elizabeth's. And I don't think I can ever make it up to you for treating you like you're nothing to me."
"You were hurt," Steve tried to excuse.
"Doesn't excuse the way I behaved," Bucky says, "I know that now."
"I've been seeing a therapist," Bucky informs him, "I never realized how much my mental health was taking a toll on those around me. So after our fight, I found someone to talk to. To work through the shit that's going on in my mind."
"How's that been going?" Steve asked.
"Good," Bucky gives a half smile, "Really good. She's good. I've realized a lot about myself that I didn't know. Working through all the issues I've had with my father leaving."
"That's good Buck. I'm proud of you, truly," Steve beamed, patting Bucky on the shoulder.
"I really am sorry for the way I behaved," Bucky repeated again.
"Buck, you really don't have to apologize again," Steve told him.
"I need to Steve," he said, "I can't believe I acted that way. I should've been happy for you and Elizabeth. I'm glad you two have each other. Seriously. I couldn't imagine her with anyone better, same goes for you. I won't cause any more issues for you two. It's not worth not having you in my life. You're my brother Steve, and I don't want to miss anything."
"Thanks, Buck. It really means a lot to me to hear that," Steve smiles, "Because I don't want to miss anything in your life also."
"Yeah, especially now," he says, the reality of why they're there dawning back.
"How are you feeling now about the baby?"
"I don't know, man," Bucky shakes his head, "I'm afraid I'm going to screw this up, like everything else."
"But now you're working on that," Steve reminds him, "And you're not going to be doing this alone. You have people who are always going to be there. I may be in California now, but I'm just a phone call away. You're not alone. But you do have to try Buck. That's all that you can ever do. Try your best, no one's asking you to be perfect, but as long as you're trying your best, that's what's important."
Age: 21 Year: 2015
The sounds of a baby crying woke Bucky up from his sleep in the early depths of the morning. He quietly and quickly got out of bed, making his way to the small New York kitchen to make a bottle.
He walked into the small nursery where the two-month-old baby wailed from hunger.
"It's okay," Bucky shushed gently, picking up the small baby, "Daddy's here."
He adjusted the small baby in his arms before placing the bottle in the baby's mouth.
"There you go," he encouraged the small one, as soon as he heard the sounds of the baby drinking.
Bucky sat down on the chair in the corner of the room, opposite of the crib. He just stared as the newborn drank their bottle, while simultaneously falling asleep. Even though he was completely exhausted, he had never felt more happier. More at peace with where his life was at.
As long as he kept trying his best, he knows he can do this for the rest of his life.
