Thinking about Mono’s comic chapter

#a separate event from the school incident in my canon #he tried to make up for his actions in that event by aiding a pocket of runaways he’d manage to stumble across #they were weary of him seeing as he was fresh from the school but he was gradually welcomed into the group after his powers proved useful #it was a rather sturdy band of kids they had made a home for themselves in the husk of an abandoned apartment #he’d finally thought he found a place to be welcome and safe in #but of course wherever he goes disaster follows #the hide out was attacked and already present structural damage resulted in an electrical fire #there was panic with everyone rushing to flee from the strange skeletal arms snatching away their friends #as much as he loathed himself for running away the first time (leaving those who depended on him in danger) he found himself doing it again #this time excusing it as leading the monster away from the rest of the group #he cowarded within the broken tv cornered and out of options #this was the first time he managed to warp without the assistance of the television #found himself back on the streets of the city with the flaming building behind him #it was at that moment he knew he could no longer stay in this city #with a door as his raft he took to the water at the city’s edge and paddles until he found land once more #the woods was a nice change of scenery #💼 hcs
