wait?! it's wednesday!?!
well - i guess it has been all day - i'm certain i knew this y'all 🤷‍♀️
Tumblr media
so i've got a few tags today (i luv tags) so @england-would-fall @suseagull04 @magicandarchery @agame-writes @taste-thewaste @sunnysideprince @hgejfmw-hgejhsf @heybuddy-drabbles @firenati0n thanks ever so much for the tags (it reminded me it was wednesday and got me wanting to write some more tonight - yay!!) ❤️ i will be perusing these all soon-ish to be unhinged as per normal at your amazing words - once the holy crud is this day over yet portion of the day is finally done ❤️
so today's bit of words is from my hockey!alex and bookshop!henry cuz i got a chance to work on that some more in the last week - amongst the new smaller one i'm also working on to hopefully post next week or so - we'll see lol
“Oh, that’s a load of bollocks, you know as well as I do, you can restock those books later. Now is when you will tell Auntie Pezza why you’re ignoring me. You should know you can’t get away with that by now. On our sacred pub trivia day, no less, what have I ever done to you to deserve such treatment?” Pez’s hand goes to his heart like an overly dramatic southern belle about to faint.
Henry rolls his eyes at Pez’s dramatics, “If you know I’m ignoring you, that’s great. You can skedaddle back where you came from so I can continue getting my work done; I’m sure you have some of your own.” “I do. I’m meeting Liam at the Shelter in a couple of hours, but until then, you have me here.” Pez kneels down and picks up one of the books off the pile Henry has on the floor before continuing, “Haz, tell me what’s going on. What knots are you working that pretty mind of yours into? Is this about the enchanting Alexander?” Henry scoffs, “Enchanting? Are we talking about the same person? Because I don’t see how you would get that.” Pez smiles, reminding Henry that he is talking to the person who knows him best in the world. “I heard you were quite enchanted for at least part of the time he was here. I won’t ask again what happened because I know you are, as my dear Liam says, ‘dug in like a tick,’ and it would be useless right now. Remember, though, when you are ready to talk about it, I’m here.” Pez stands up and holds his hand out to help Henry up, and he takes the hand, the olive branch his best friend is extending. Acknowledging the silent agreement that, as always, he will confide in him when he gets his thoughts untangled enough to communicate them. As they walk over to the counter where Pez left the food by the register, he asks, “So why is Liam meeting you at the shelter? Are you skipping out for the afternoon? If so, please don’t tell me the no doubt dirty details of whatever you have planned.” Pez laughs, and the fond roll of his eyes he directs at Henry tells him he is forgiven for going radio silent for the last day. “You know I don’t kiss and tell, at least not sober,” Pez sends Henry a grin that reminds him of some of those times he has done just that. “But, no, Liam is coming to discuss some of the upcoming events we’re arranging with the team, him and Alex.” “Oh.” Henry tries to keep the contempt out of his voice, but based on the look Pez gives him, he’s unsuccessful.
❤️so now the fun part (and if you've already done this and i missed it (cuz not really had a chance to look yet) well 'hey!') no-pressure tags to @adreamareads @anincompletelist @bitbybitwrites @dragonflylady77 @duchessdepolignaca03 @firstsprinces @forever-fixating @inexplicablymine @junebugclaremontdiaz @kiwiana-writes (i'm totally blaming ya for the pez/liam that now wants to pop into all my fics lol - but i do kinda luv it lol) @priincebutt @sophie1973 @stellarm @typicalopposite

Oh that Prada store trip was for sure partially pr. In that clip of the boys walking around nyc Haz or Alex was rocking the yellow crossbody Tom literally rocks in the campaign. I think as you said he was offered a quid pro quo for a little last min publicity moment. Not to mention he was literally there for work anyway for the uncharted press. It would have been insanely easy for Prada pr to call his pr and suggest an outing. That entire ny trip they knew they were gonna be photographed and planned for it. People have too black and white an idea of pr and paparazzi. As if celebs don’t use it to their benefit even if they’d prefer it to not happen at all. We know tz would prefer to never be papped off a red carpet but that doesn’t mean they aren’t willing to dress up and go to dinner or a hockey game or to their brand partnerships (while very stylishly dressed might I add) or to hello! To his movie screening all where they know they will be followed and be the talk of the internet and all while in the midst of opening week for a must win project for Tom. You can have a mutual using situation with the pres/paps where they know their privacy will be invaded anyway if they go out so might as well ham it up and use all the attention they get for their rs to make sure everyone knows Tom’s got a new film out. Like that’s just good business sense to use something tou can’t avoid to your own benefit. And I think people need to be realistic about the fact that they can play the game like they did in ny for uncharted but also still want their privacy and work hard at that and have bitterness when its not respected at other times. It’s not mutually exclusive. They’re both pretty savvy about the industry and I think they’re willing to work together as a team now bc that’s the stage of relationship they’re in. 🤷‍♀️
I can’t really find anything to disagree with here. Maybe a person could argue with this or that event, but the overall point is great:
And I think people need to be realistic about the fact that they can play the game like they did in ny for uncharted but also still want their privacy and work hard at that and have bitterness when its not respected at other times. It’s not mutually exclusive.
I actually think it can be more respectful to treat Tom & Zendaya as adult professionals who are thoughtful about their jobs and how they can redirect or direct attention than it is to treat that as naive amateurs who are just trying to learn the rules of hockey.
P.S. I’ve gotten several asks along the lines of “oh of course they are friends who are pretending to date…” I just want to be clear that that is NOT what I or this anon here are implying AT ALL. Those sorts of asks are tired and dumb and I will not be answering them. Immediate delete from me.

part 2 to the disownment fic pretty please
Here we go, folks. Grab some tissues and some water if you think you’ll need it. This is the first fic I’ve almost cried while writing (it has a happy ending, though, bc of course it does). Coops credit goes to @lumosinlove! Haz, I’m so sorry for putting your boy through this.
Part 1
TW for disownment, grief, vague mention of past abuse, and truly terrible parenting
The house was terribly quiet, save for the rustle of paperwork as Sirius set it down. Next to him, Hattie whined, and he gently put his hand on top of her head.
“Are you okay?” Remus asked, folding his legs in tighter. Sirius stayed silent across from him. “I’m sorry I didn’t take them that night she came to the house—”
“Don’t be.” Sirius cleared his throat. “Don’t—don’t be sorry for that. I’m glad you stood up to her.”
“Are you okay?” Remus asked again, quieter.
“Not really. I kind of knew this was coming, but it still hurts.” A tear dripped down Sirius’ chin and he swiped it away with a bitter laugh. “This fucking sucks. I shouldn’t be this upset.”
“Sirius—”
“They hurt me. They hurt me so many times and I hate them.” The last words came out on a harsh breath and he bit his lip, staring at the floor. “They never wanted me, anyway.”
“Honey.” Remus barely raised his voice above a whisper.
“It’s true. I wasn’t anything more than a tool to them,” Sirius hiccupped around a clog in his throat. “This proves it, right? This stupid fucking paper proves that they never wanted me outside of perfect hockey. And I—and I couldn’t be perfect.”
He held his hand tight over his mouth and squeezed his eyes shut as shuddering breaths rippled through his body; Remus stood and padded over to the couch, pressing their shoulders together until Sirius leaned into him with a heartbreaking sniffle. “It’s going to be alright, love,” he murmured, wrapping an arm around him and holding him close. “It’s going to be alright.”
“I hate them so much, but I just want them to want me.”
“I know.”
“I don’t understand.” Sirius wiped his eyes with his forearm, but it didn’t do much more than spread his tears around. “I don’t—why would they do this?”
A pang hit Remus’ heart and his comforting circles on Sirius’ arm stuttered. Because of me. “Because they’re terrible people who don’t appreciate everything wonderful that you are.”
“They are,” Sirius’ voice cracked and he curled tighter into Remus’ side. He looked so small, suddenly. “It’s not fair.”
Remus wound his other arm around him and kissed the top of his head. “It’s not.”
“It’s not fair!” he half-shouted, half-sobbed.
Hattie’s ears pricked up at his sudden volume and she glanced up at Remus; for a moment, he had never been more sure she was a human trapped in a dog’s body, and he nodded to her. She crawled up onto the cushion next to Sirius and gently nosed at his arm until he lifted it, then wiggled underneath so her head rested on his lap.
“I shouldn’t feel like this,” he croaked after a moment.
“Says who?”
“They never loved me and I knew that. It shouldn’t hurt this much.” A furious edge turned sharp in his voice. “I should be fucking celebrating, not sitting here crying over people that didn’t want me in the first place.”
“Don’t do that,” Remus said, running his fingers through the dark curls at the nape of his neck.
Sirius pulled away, sudden and harsh as he scrubbed away the mess on his face. “Don’t do what? Talk about my feelings? You don’t get it, Remus. You have a cookie cutter family and you have no idea what my life was like. You barely even know me.”
Remus kept his face passive and his tone even. He doesn’t mean that, he told himself, forcing the waves of hurt to roll right past. “Maybe not. But that doesn’t mean I can’t love you all the same.”
A sob caught in Sirius’ chest, then another in his throat, until he was breathing hard with the effort of keeping them down. Hattie sighed, and Remus reached for his hand. “Don’t touch me.”
“Okay.”
More tears tracked down Sirius’ cheeks as he tried to choke back the feelings and it took every iota of self-control in Remus’ body not to wipe them away. He saw the panic and desperation in Sirius’ quicksilver eyes; he saw the tremors in his body, heralds of the repression he had worked to overcome for years. “I don’t want to feel like this.” Sirius glanced down at Remus’ hands and tucked his own under his arms, shivering slightly. “Don’t touch me or I’ll cry. I don’t want to feel like this.”
“Baby, I don’t think you can stop it,” Remus said softly.
Sirius’ face crumpled and a small whine slipped out; Hattie’s eyes flickered to his face in clear concern. “Don’t do that.”
“Do what?”
“Do you have any idea how hard it is to stop feeling things when you’re here?” He laced his fingers in his hair, covering his ears. “It’s like everything explodes, and I don’t want that to happen.”
Remus crossed his legs and faced Sirius fully, laying his hands palm-up on the couch cushions. “If you tell me to, I’ll leave. But I need to know you’re alright first.”
“Why do you care so fucking much?” he asked angrily.
“Because I love you.” It was easy to say. There was no hesitation, no catch, no ‘gotcha’ moment. The sky was blue, the grass was green, and I love you. Something fractured in Sirius’ expression.
“I didn’t mean what I said,” he gasped through fresh tears. “About—about your family. I’m sorry.”
“I know.”
“And I’m so tired of shoving everything down.” His lower lip wobbled, and he squeezed his eyes shut. Remus burned with the need to shield him from everything that taught him to do that.
“Okay.”
“And I love you so much.” The fracture turned to a shatter and Sirius fell into Remus’ arms, clutching the back of his oversized sweater like a drowning man holding a raft. Remus held him just as tight, feeling a prickle in the corners of his eyes. “Fuck, it hurts.”
“It’s allowed to hurt,” Remus’ voice broke a little and he swallowed hard, burying his face in Sirius’ hair. “You’re allowed to feel things, Sirius.”
“Don’t let me go. Don’t you dare.”
Something fierce flamed in Remus’ chest. “I won’t.”
Sirius continued mumbling for a few minutes, but he was crying too hard and Remus’ sweater muffled the sound too much for him to understand anything. Eventually, the aching sobs became slow breaths and the occasional sniffle. Neither of them loosened their grip until Sirius scooted closer to tuck his face against Remus’ shoulder. “I don’t have parents anymore.”
“Who made our wedding cake?” Remus asked, drying the closest cheek with his sleeve. “Whose kids did you watch the other night, even though you had to sing Disney songs for three and a half hours and lost your voice? Who walked you down the aisle? Baby, you are so wanted. By them, by me, and by everyone else who loves you for exactly who you are.”
A few half-shivers rocked through him. “Dumo and Celeste have been better parents in seven years than they ever were.”
Remus pressed a light kiss to the shell of his ear. “Can I be really honest with you, baby?”
“Of course.”
“A flaming dumpster fire and a dead fish would’ve been better parents than the ones you grew up with.”
A startled snort escaped Sirius’ mouth, followed by a tumble of laughter that made him rest his forehead on Remus’ collarbone. “They would hate hearing that,” he said, almost gleefully.
“But it’s true.”
“It’s so true, mon dieu.” Sirius leaned back, smiling through the clear exhaustion on his face until Remus reached up and gently took it between his palms. “Thank you.”
“For what?”
Sirius closed his eyes and melted into the touch. “Being here.”
“That’s what I promised, right?” He tapped his left ring finger lightly against Sirius’ cheek. “You don’t deserve to hurt like this, and it’s not fair of them to do this to you, but I’ll be here as long as you want me.”
“I’m always going to want you.”
“Good, because I wasn’t planning on leaving anytime soon.” He guided Sirius closer until their foreheads touched and traced his temples with his thumbs. “Are you okay, baby?”
“No. But I think I will be, later.” His chest caved a little. “I’m sorry for getting angry with you.”
Remus lifted one shoulder in a shrug. “I know you didn’t mean what you said, and I forgive you. For the record, though, I think I know you pretty well.”
A small smile lifted the side of Sirius’ mouth. “Better than anyone.”
A sudden thought struck Remus and he bit his lip. “Are you going to tell Regulus?”
“M—” He clenched his jaw for a moment. “Walburga said she’d call him.”
“Do you want to call him first?”
“That would give him time to think of some good insults,” Sirius mused. “I’m going to take a shower first, I think. I feel gross and snotty.”
“You’re gorgeous. Do you want company?”
Sirius blew out a slow breath. “Yeah, actually. That sounds nice. Can I have a kiss?”
His lips were a little salty from tears, but that didn’t stop Remus as he cradled his jaw and poured all the love he could muster into the kiss. His heartbeat pulsed in his ears and he slid his hands around to Sirius’ back, pulling him in for one more hug before they stood and headed upstairs, leaving the stark white papers far behind.

Our Past Got Us Here
We all love the Harvard FinnLo pining, but after the amazing and painful art Haz posted today we needed an extra dose of fluff to balance the feels. Co-written with the amazing and eloquent @ais-for-alex , the characters and universe by queen of the hazelhoots @lumosinlove
The box with the ominous title Harvard in blood red sharpie should have been heavier for all the memories it carried, Logan thought as he hefted it on his desk in his new room. He was all moved in with Finn and Leo, unpacked and fitting seamlessly in their space just as he did in their lives… but for this one last box.
Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, he reminded himself that whatever he unearthed was firmly in the past now, and his present was so much lighter and happier than anything he would find in there.
He heard Finn and Leo moving around in the apartment and he knew they were there for him if he needed them. He knew Finn saw the box and suspected what was inside, if the way he was lurking close to his door was any indication. He also knew that this was his task first and foremost - to unpack the past and claim it fully as his own, with all the good and the bad it brought. This was where he met Finn. This was where he fell for Finn. This was where he carried the burning flame of all he felt for him, held it close and hid it away from everyone including himself, until it burned him from the inside. He could still feel the hot rush of shame and hurt he was so well used to pushing back under and avoiding at all costs.
Opening the box would mean coming face to face with it for the first time after years, no more deflecting.
He was ready. He was home, their home, the three of them together and he was ready.
He pulled the lid off the box and was met with Finn’s warm gaze staring at him from a treasured photograph lying on top, the two of them only a few weeks after Logan got to Harvard, throwing him back into a memory that cut with precision right into those places that hurt the most. Years ago, he had packed that box in a state of numb resignation, putting away his heart piece by piece, alone in his room back at Harvard because Finn had left him for a dream and it hurt too much to see the reminders all around him. He had been crying too hard by the time he placed that last photo in the box, Finn’s smiling face blurred by the tears and hidden away when he closed the box and tucked it away. Now the feeling roared to life in his chest, loud and hungry for a resolution.
He wasn’t ready.
He must have made a noise, or maybe Finn had a sixth sense for when Logan needed him because the next thing he knew were his arms wrapping him in a hug, the safest place on Earth as far as Logan was concerned.
“Lo, baby, we’re okay.” Finn murmured into his hair as Logan hid his face in his neck, breathing him in. They were okay, they were great, but there were still some things unsaid between them, an unspoken agreement to leave that box unopened for another day.
Well, it was open now and waiting for them on the desk innocently.
Logan took a breath and lifted his head, searching for a kiss and the reassurance that came with it. He wasn’t alone, with Finn thousands of miles away, both of them silent and hurting. He was here, with his boys, allowed to touch whenever he wanted. They were good at reminding him of that, too. He needed that reminder now.
“Tell me.” He knew Finn would understand what he was asking for. Logan wasn’t good at talking, but Finn could read him like an open book after all those years. Logan only realized how much after he stopped pushing him away and allowed himself to love and be loved exactly how he’d yearned for.
“We’re okay. I love you. I’m never leaving you. Leo is never leaving us. You moved in with us and everything is finally as it should be, because being away from you feels like I’m missing a part of myself and fuck, I’m done with that. Do you know how important you’re to me? I’ll spend the rest of our lives telling you, Lo.” Finn was cradling his face in his hands and pressing a kiss to his lips after every declaration.
Logan’s hands were grasping at the fabric of Finn’s hoodie - Leo’s hoodie, actually - and that brought an unbidden smile to his face, helping the words hit home. Finn, in Leo’s hoodie, in his room. He didn’t have to do this alone, do anything alone, ever again.
“I know, mon amour. It’s just-- we haven’t really talked about-- I know I wasn’t in a hurry to unpack all that and you probably weren’t either but I want to, now. I think I need to.” He gestured to the innocent-looking box, watching Finn step closer to it and look inside, emotions playing across his face. He knew what it represented, of course he did. He probably had one just like that at some point, or maybe his was still unpacked too.
Finn reached into the box and picked up the photo from the top, the same one that Logan could barely look at just moments ago. He held it out to Logan with a wistful smile. “Let’s unpack this one together, what do you say?”
“Yeah, I’d really like to do that.” Logan’s voice was shaky, but he was determined. They’d probably end up crying, he could already feel the hot press of tears behind his eyes just thinking about all the memories that they were going to bring to light, but he wanted them all. He wanted to touch them, to put them up on his walls and see them every day without hurting for their past selves. A story of how they got to here and now, of how they lost each other and then found each other again. How they found their missing piece and built a home together.
He took the photo from Finn, their fingers brushing and unfailingly sending sparks across Logan’s skin. It’s been like that since he could remember, Finn’s touch like a brand, whether accidental and forcedly platonic for the longest time, or purposeful now but no less exciting with the promise of forever. It made him feel brave, so he cast around for the tape and tore a piece to stick it to the back of the photo. First one for the wall. First memory to unpack.
“You remember this one?” he asked Finn while he picked a place for it, pressing it to the wall and making sure it held. “I loved you already, when we took this photo. I was trying to convince myself that I couldn’t, but I did.” He heard Finn behind him suck in a breath, but he stayed quiet, letting him speak. Logan turned a bit, just enough to reach his hand back, wordlessly asking for the next photo, sticking it to the wall without looking at it first.
It was a photo of the two of them at a party. At the party.
“Lo--” Finn started behind him, already gearing up to tell him they could do this another day, Logan could hear it in his voice. It’s happened often enough. Logan was sick of it, of swallowing the pain and the tears and hiding in the safe topics of their everyday life, like what to get for dinner and who should drive.
“I’m sorry.” He interrupted Finn, softly but with determination, still looking at the photo. He felt Finn pressing himself along his back, one arm coming up to drape over his shoulder, his hand pressing over his heart. There was another photo of them, just like this, a favourite of Logan’s and currently in Finn’s room, another piece of his heart captured forever. He leaned back into the embrace, drawing strength from the unwavering support. Now, then, always, Finn was by his side no matter how often Logan pushed him away. He was done pushing him away.
“I shouldn’t have done that, at the party. It was a shitty thing to do. I’m sorry. You deserved so much better.” Logan felt the first tear roll down his face, felt Finn’s breath stutter in his chest.
“I’m sorry too. You weren’t the only one not talking about it, you know? It’s on me, too. And we’re better now, aren’t we?”
Logan nodded wordlessly, breathing through the swell of emotions that threatened to overwhelm him when he thought about that night. A miracle turned into a secret and sitting heavy and unaddressed instead of being treasured as it should have been.
Finn spoke for the both of them, needing to acknowledge in words what happened. “That was our first kiss, Lo. I still remember it, like it happened just yesterday. I loved you already, when we took this photo. I couldn’t believe what happened after. I’m glad it did.”
Logan turned to him at that, surprised. “You’re glad? I blamed it on being drunk and then never talked about it. It might as well not have happened at all! Our first kiss was a lie and I can never change it. How--” Finn pressed a kiss to his lips and stayed there, interrupting his rant and waiting for him to kiss back before pulling away again, keeping their foreheads together.
“I’m glad because we’re here now. We’re talking about it now. It was real to me, Lo. I was afraid then, too. I’m not anymore, you’re not anymore. We found each other. We found Leo. That’s what matters.” Finn’s eyes were swimming in tears but he was smiling, and Logan couldn’t help but kiss that smile right off his lips. “You’re right. That’s what matters. Gimme the next one. Let’s talk about all of them.”
The wall was slowly filled with memories and their weight was lifted from their unspoken past word for word as they remembered each moment for the good and the bad. So often Logan had felt close to crumbling under the guilt, but Finn was right there holding him close and offering him absolution with each new piece out of the box, like it was the easiest thing in the world.
Beside photos, there were other things too. Movie tickets, four of them from the same movie they kept going back for. A receipt from a dinner at a roadie, just the two of them, where Finn doodled stick figures playing hockey while they waited for dessert. Crumpled notes that Finn would sometimes leave stuck to Logan’s door, sometimes a shopping list, sometimes an inside joke. Logan kept them all.
FInally, the box was empty and the wall was full. Logan felt exhausted but his heart was lighter than it had been in years, brimming with love for his boys and gratitude for the road that brought him here. He and Finn stood shoulder to shoulder in the middle of the room, looking at the wall, tears drying on both their faces.
“I want Leo” Logan spoke into the comfortable silence, pulling on Finn’s arm, suddenly eager to have them both close, to bask in the reality of having them, of being loved by them. “Come on Harz, let’s find him.”
Finn reeled him back in for one more kiss. “Love you, Lo.”
“Love you, too. Love Leo. Want Leo now.”
“Yeah, me too. Come on, he’s in the kitchen.” Logan was already squirming away and Finn let him pull them from the room and towards the kitchen where they could hear the clatter of utensils. He did the hard work and now he wanted his rewards. He wanted his boys close.
Hand in hand, they padded down the hall towards the kitchen, towards their missing piece, towards their future, leaving all the guilt and the hurt finally where it belonged; in their past.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Leo brushed a bit of flour from his hands. He suppressed the urge to wander into Logan’s room where he knew his partners were unpacking more than just the old boxes beaten by years of hiding in the closet. Those old boxes that carried memories of Finn and Logan’s days spent so close to each other but separated by an ocean of feelings that fit between their dorm beds.
No, Leo had to let them unpack together. Finn and Logan needed to be the ones to pull each memory from the moth eaten cardboard. They needed to be the ones to hold them close to their hearts and feel, and once the hurt of all those years  past had been aired away they could finally hang those memories on the walls to look at without that bitter hurt anymore.
Leo would wait though, he would wait for them to emerge from the solemn confessional of Logan’s room, he would wait for them to be ready, he would wait until they wanted him there to pull them back together. He would wait for them forever. Luckily though he didn’t have to wait forever. Leo turned as he heard their footsteps padding closer to the kitchen.
“Hello, my loves,” he said as Finn and Logan peeked their heads in to see what he was doing.
“Mmm,” Finn hummed in greeting and came up to press a soft sweet kiss to Leo’s lips. Out of the corner of his eye Leo saw Logan hop up to sit on the counter. When Finn finally pulled away his lips were pulled into a gentle smile and his eyes as warm and sweet as melted chocolate. Leo sighed at the sight, but turned to Logan who was softly kicking the cabinet doors where his feet dangled from the counter.
“Hi baby,” he whispered, slotting himself between Logan’s knees and running his hands soft against his thighs. Logan sighed and wrapped his legs around Leo’s waist pulling him in closer.
“You all unpacked?” Leo asked so softly for a moment he wasn’t sure Logan had actually heard him. But he saw that look in Logan’s bright green eyes that meant he was thinking, choosing his words carefully before he tried to speak. So Leo waited, he reached up to lightly trace his fingers against the scratchy stubble on Logan’s jaw as his partner gathered his thoughts. Leo felt Finn settle in behind him, pressing his chest flush to his back and rest his chin on his shoulder. He turned his face inwards pressing closer just to place a kiss to the soft skin on Leo’s neck.
“Yeah,” Logan finally answered with a sigh, he turned his face to nuzzle into Leo’s palm. “It was- it was hard,” he whispered, then looked over at Finn still resting his head on Leo’s shoulder and smiled softly. “But as hard as it was to live through, and remember, I don’t think I would change even a minute of it.”
Leo gave him a bit of a puzzled look at that, why on earth wouldn’t he change it if he could? Why would he be willing to live through that pain? Logan chuckled lightly at his confusion and leaned forward to press a chaste kiss to the corner of Leo’s mouth.
“Mon amour, I would live every minute of it again and not change a thing, because mine and Finn's past is what led us to you. And you know what? Thinking of it like that, it doesn’t hurt at all.”
Leo couldn’t help the sheen of tears that glazed his eyes, or the sniffles as he reached forward to pull Logan fully into his arms, holding him tight like he couldn’t bear to leave even an inch of space between them.
“We love you so much Nutty,” Finn whispered, pressing a kiss to the nape of his neck, “you make it easier. God, you make everything better.”
“Guys,” Leo sighed at the feel of them pressed so close against him, “this wasn't supposed to be about me.”
Logan reached out to cup his face, his eyes bright and sure as they gazed into Leo’s own, “sweetheart, it’s about us, all three of us, together. Our past, and yours, they were stepping stone to get to this exact moment.”
“Leo,” Finn said softly, he pulled away slightly and turned Leo to look at him so his back was now pressed against Logan's chest where he was still sitting on the counter. Logan twined his arms around Leo’s torso as Finn tilted his chin just so until he couldn't look anywhere but those chocolate eyes. “It’s time we all moved on from the past, ok? Instead, lets focus on building a future, one for all of us, that we’ll get to spend the rest of our lives cultivating.”
Leo swallowed hard, Finn's words seemed to crawl into his heart mending cracks and fissures he hadn’t realized were there. His words put to rest that horrible feeling that crept into Leo’s mind in the dead of night, in those moments he was all alone with no one to soothe away the fear, that he was the odd man out. That one day Finn and Logan would realize that they didn't need him, because they already had a foundation to build on.
“I love you guys so fucking much,” he breathed, and felt Logans arms tighten around him. Finn smiled and leaned in, pressing closer gently until they were so close they were breathing the same air.
“D’accord, d’accord,” Logan mumbled into his shoulder, he breathed in deeply then continued, “no more sad for tonight.”
“I think I can get on board with that,” Leo said with a chuckle.
“Same,” Finn agreed before finally pulling away.
Leo grinned and padded back to the other side of the kitchen where he had left ingredients for dinner strewn across the counter, “Well, do you guys want to help me make dinner then?”
“Le, my precious Peanut Butter, I need you to understand this;” Finn said seriously, “just because we have grown emotionally does not mean our skills in the kitchen have improved in the slightest.”
“Well yeah, and they never will if you don’t let me teach you,” Leo teased, snagging a dish towel and snapping Finn in the thigh.
Logan laughed at Finn's pout as he rubbed the welt now forming and jumped down from the counter, “Alright Nutty, teach us your ways, impart your vast cooking wisdom upon us.”
Leo rolled his eyes at their dramatics but set them to work nonetheless. Finn was tasked with peeling potatoes, with a stern warning from Leo about slicing off his finger. As he was prepping the meat, Leo glanced over at Logan who seemed to be having far too much fun smashing the crackers to make a breading. He couldn't help but grin as he felt warm affection rush through his veins, like he had injected pure love directly into his bloodstream. Leo couldn't wait to feel this for the rest of his life, to build and grow with them, and love them for as long as humanly possible.
It wasn't long before their kitchen was filled with laughter, and banter, and music played over the bluetooth speakers. The three of them worked in tandem, until the delicious aroma of home cooked food was wafting through their apartment. And so what if Finns mashed potatoes were a bit soupy, and what if the veggies Logan chopped were a bit uneven, it was something that they created together, Leo wanted to savor every bite.

When a loss isn't really a loss
This is just over 5000 words of O'Darwin smut and general silliness. Enjoy. Some of this I have posted as a live write before on the discord, but it's been heavily edited and added to.
Rating: E
CW: Explicit sex, food talk
Please message me if you I missed any content warnings.
All of these characters come from the fanfic Sweater Weather and Credit for them goes to @lumosinlove
"I'm going to jump in the shower and then I'll be ready to collect payment," Natalie smirked, shaking her ass at her boyfriends as she bent down to peel off her snowy boots at the door.
"Absolutely not," Alex scoffed, smacking her butt, although she couldn't feel much through the padding of her thermals and ski pants "You cheated."
"I made one tiny comment," Natalie argued, setting her boots to the side, and stepping a little further into the cabin to take off her jacket. "It’s not my fault your brain is in your dick."
"Okay, but it's not as if anybody is really losing, is it?" Kasey said pushing past Alex, having mentioned multiple times by now that he was ready to be out of the cold. "Let's be real, eating you out is the real prize here, babe."
"Kiss-ass," Alex grumbled.
"I'll kiss your ass anytime, Al,'' Kasey retorted. Alex muttered something under his breath, but Kasey ignored him, continuing to shrug off his clothes until he was left in only his base layers. "I'll start a fire whilst you hop in the shower, Nat."
“Thanks, love,” Natalie pecked a kiss to Kasey’s cheek, the slight scruff he had decided to sport for the trip was rough against her lips. Alex had finally managed to get his boots off, and joined the two of them in pulling off his skiwear. She drew up onto her tiptoes, not letting the couple of inches of extra height Alex had on her be a deterrent as she ruffled his hair and placed a kiss on his cheek too. “Suck it up, sweetheart.”
“Hey!” Alex protested. “I want a rematch tomorrow!” he called as she retreated from the room, her shoulders shaking with laughter.
The warm water felt wonderful cascading down Natalie’s body, soothing her tired muscles. She could have stayed under it forever; the thought of Alex and Kasey waiting for her in the lounge the only thing motivating her to move through the routine of washing her hair. The coconut scent of her conditioner permeated the room as she stepped out of the shower and piled her hair beneath a towel.
She stepped out into the short hallway, hearing hushed bickering coming from the living room. Rolling her eyes, she yelled to let them know the bathroom was unoccupied. “Boys! The shower is free!” The bickering continued, the topic switching from where the next log should be placed, to which of them should be left to finish the job. Natalie considered interrupting to inform them she could probably do the task quicker than either of them, but she left them to it, heading to the bedroom.
She hummed to herself whilst she rummaged through her suitcase, considering the new lyrics she’d doodled on the flight here, until she felt the slippery material of the satin pyjamas she was looking for.
“Aha.” She gave a satisfied smile, pulling the bralette and shorts on and looked in the mirror. “Damn, Darcy,” Natalie approved, turning to appreciate the way the material clung to her ass in all the right ways. She adjusted the top slightly, gave a satisfied nod and shook her still slightly damp hair from the towel, letting it fall down around her shoulders in loose waves. For a moment, she considered blow drying it, but she preferred the way it looked when it was allowed to dry naturally. If Alex and Kasey wanted to have sex, then they could deal with it.
The lounge was empty when Natalie returned, the logs and fire - lighter abandoned on the ground. She snorted at the tiny tepee that had been built in the grate, imagining Alex lecturing Kasey on the technique, until they decided it was more fun to take a shower together. It was a far too regular occurrence for Alex to remind them he had been a boy scout only to completely fail at the skills he was supposed to have learnt was comical. At this point, she suspected the only useful thing to come out of it were the photos of a small Alex dressed in little shorts, grinning proudly at his badge-covered sash. The organisation could go fuck themselves, but she had to admit the images were adorable.
Natalie gathered the materials, making light work of getting the fire started. Her own skills came from weekend camping trips with her family, her parents having encouraged her to pull her weight alongside her brother. Kasey wasn't one to embrace nature, more inclined towards the comfort of hotel rooms and running water. Still, Natalie was daydreaming about dragging him and Alex on long hikes when the pair of them interrupted it, walking back into the lounge with sheepish expressions.
"In our defence -" Alex started, his sentence ending abruptly when he properly took in Natalie's appearance. "Excuse me, nobody told me we were supposed to be looking hot. I need to go and get changed," he gestured to the pair of joggers sitting loosely on his hips.
Kasey shook his head, quickly grabbing the back of Alex's t-shirt, halting his retreat. "Don't bother, I don't plan on them being on for long."
"Okay, yeah, I could be down with that," Alex agreed. "But fuck, Nat. Warn a guy next time."
Natalie laughed, pushing herself up from the floor and relocating to the sofa, a few steps away. "Where would the fun in that be?"
"It's alright, Al. You could be wearing a bin bag and you'd still be hot," Kasey said, releasing Alex's t-shirt from his grip.
"Aww babe," Alex cooed. His eyes flicked from Kasey to Natalie, pointing his thumb at Kasey. "Can you believe this guy manages to convince people that he's a tough man?"
"Hey, real men talk about their emotions," Kasey shrugged. "We did a whole campaign on it, soon after you joined the Rangers. Remember?"
"I do, the t-shirt they gave you was too fucking small and I swear I nearly combusted,” Alex tipped his back slightly whilst he laughed. Natalie loved watching the two of them interact. There was something light about it, almost as if they seemed to forget the rest of the world was there. "Nat, it was honestly sinful.”
Okay, perhaps they forgot everybody but her. And frankly, Natalie was honoured.
"Sinful huh? I approve of sin," Natalie raised an eyebrow, patting the seat beside her. "Get over here." She didn't have to ask twice, soon flanked on either side by her hockey boys. She nudged her shoulder against Alex's. "So, have you reconsidered that maybe you did actually lose earlier." Alex ran his tongue over his lips, dragging his eyes over her form. "I could be convinced," he murmured, fingers trailing over Natalie's thigh. "I still want another race tomorrow though."
"You know I'm going to win again," Natalie smirked, leaning in to let her breath skim over his ear. "What are you waiting for? I'm ready," she whispered, punctuating her words with a kiss to his jaw, spreading her legs a little further. Alex stumbled a little as dropped to his knees in front of her. Apparently he was excited.
"It really is a shame to take these off, they're so pretty," Alex sighed, grasping the waistband of the shorts, although he didn't seem to be too disappointed to be sliding the silky fabric down her legs.
He kissed a trail up her thighs, each kiss sending a tiny shiver up Natalie's spine. Her body was tight with the anticipation of what was coming. They weren't new to this, Alex spent a lot of time between her legs, but in her opinion, the thrill had only increased. She knew how good he could make her feel now. Alex hooked his hands under her knees and shifted her a little closer to him. Leaning forward, he dragged his tongue through the damp already forming between her legs, tasting her with slow, leisurely licks. Natalie whined, low at the back of her throat, her hips pushing up and legs tightening around Alex as she sought more of his attention. He obliged, pressing his tongue flat against her clit, bringing his fingers to play at it, his beard rough against her skin as he sucked eagerly at her centre.
She let her head tip back, finding Kasey's strong hold behind her. He kissed gently at the exposed skin of her neck, capturing her mouth to swallow her next moan. "Can you tell me what you want next Nat? You're going to come on Al's face, yeah? Then what?"
Natalie managed a nod, her hands flying to tangle in Alex's hair as he dipped his tongue inside her. "Fuck, Alex. Do that again." Alex repeated the precise flick of his tongue, his small chuckle at Natalie's string of expletives, reverberating through her.
"Hey," Kasey's hand gripped her chin carefully, getting her focus. "What next?"
Natalie couldn't think what came next when Alex was working his magic, any coherent thought she managed to form was forced away by the skilful tease of his mouth.
Kasey traced the wildflowers inked around her belly button, his breath hot against her ear. "Do you want me to fuck you?" He snaked his hands upwards, ducking into the cup of her bralette to toy with her nipple. "Or Haz? Or maybe both?"
"Yes," Natalie gasped, rocking her hips against Alex's mouth. "Yes, yes yes." She wanted that. She wanted all of it.
"It's alright, babe. We've got you," Kasey continued to tug at her nipples, each pull sending a shiver down her spine. She writhed under their touch, her body unsure what it wanted more of. Alex pulled back a little, soothing Natalie's whine by replacing his mouth with his fingers, pressing them inside her.
"Please," The cry fell from her lips, guiding Alex's head back down. He followed enthusiastically, fingers still pushing into her as he lapped at her clit, grazing lightly over it with his teeth. She urged his mouth harder against her, the familiar tingle of pleasure playing at the ends of her limbs.
"That's it love, come on him. I can't wait to taste you on him,” Kasey encouraged.
“Fuck Al - I'm so close," she whimpered, her breath coming in quick pants.
A warmth pooled in her stomach, seemingly every muscle in her body tensing as Alex upped his efforts, his face buried in her as he nipped and sucked and licked. Kasey's mouth was back on her, his hands squeezing at her breasts. She couldn't tell where each of her whimpers and mewls started and ended anymore, the sounds melding into a symphony of pleasure; her boys playing her body like a practised instrument.
Natalie let herself voice her pleasure without restraint, enjoying the fact their cabin was nestled into a secluded spot in the forest and nobody would be able to hear them.
"Oh fuck, yes. Right there. Don’t stop. Gonna come." The words fell from her lips rambling and desperate, her hand curling tighter into Alex's hair in warning. Her world narrowed as she came, everything but the intense pleasure searing through her becoming irrelevant in that small moment. The two of them worked her through, coaxing every second of bliss from her they could, until the spasms slowed and she relaxed against Kasey.
"I believe I said something about sharing." Kasey grasped Alex's hand, leaning down to help him close the gap between them. Alex's face was sticky with her come, but Kasey didn't hesitate to crash their mouths together. Natalie watched them kiss above her, the euphoria still making her thoughts a little hazy, but a small excitement told her that she was definitely still horny, despite the fact she had barely recovered from the last orgasm.
Kasey pulled away; the corners of his mouth turned up into a soft smile that didn't quite seem to match the situation. "Messy boy," he chirped, cupping Alex's jaw and gathering the slick onto his fingers. Slipping them between his lips, Kasey sucked them, giving a long moan at the taste.
Alex's back clicked as he clambered back up onto the couch properly. The juxtaposition between the reminder of the reality of human bodies, and the almost pornographic gesture she had just witnessed from Kasey made Natalie snort a laugh. “Are you okay there, old man?" she flashed Alex a grin.
Alex poked her gently in her side, chuckling a laugh against her lips. "Shut up."
Natalie shoved him in the arm playfully. "Thank you, that was awesome. Maybe I'll let you win tomorrow so I can return the favour."
Out of the corner of her eye, Natalie saw Kasey reach down to palm himself through his shorts. She pecked a kiss to Alex's cheek, his face still shiny with her come. "Why don't you go and wash that off before it starts to get itchy. I want all your attention on me when you're fucking me."
Alex let his head drop back against the sofa with a groan, and Natalie laughed as his eyes seemed to glaze over slightly. A filthy comment never failed to get him worked up.
"Okay, Okay, I'm going. Don't do anything too interesting until I get back," Alex pushed off the sofa eagerly, dragging his eyes over Natalie and Kasey before he hurried to the bathroom in a half-jog.
“Bring the lube too!” Natalie called after Alex, swinging her leg over to straddle Kasey’s lap. Kasey smirked as he lifted his head to catch Natalie’s lips with his own, pulling back from the kiss only once their breaths were coming in heavy pants.
“Think that was too interesting?” he murmured, burying his face into her shoulder..
“I don’t know. What do you think about this?” Natalie ground her hips down, drawing a whine from Kasey.
“Definitely too interesting,” Kasey gasped, bucking up into the contact.
“I’m coming, I’m coming,” Alex shouted, his footsteps heavy in the hallway.
“That’s what I’m going to be saying in about two seconds if you don’t stop,” Kasey quipped, setting his hands on Natalie’s waist, his fingers squeezing gently.
“What took you so -” Natalie looked up as Alex hurried into the room, his feet slipping slightly on the hardwood. “Where are your clothes?”
Natalie had to cling onto Kasey's shoulders to avoid being thrown from his lap when he turned his whole body, whipping his head around at the question. God, Kasey was so cool until he wasn't at all.
“Figured I wouldn’t need them for this next part,” Alex smiled. His face was so expressive, the emotion lifting his entire face. He swept his hand through his hair smoothly as if he hadn’t just nearly landed on his ass. “I did bring lube though, and condoms,” he added, showcasing the aforementioned objects. “Still waiting on that second set of results after Philly.”
Two sets of testing. Two weeks apart. The second set at least a month after the event. Plus twice a year routine testing. Those were the rules they had laid out for not using a condom if any of them had sex with somebody outside of them and a few other select people they trusted. It wasn’t fool proof, but it was what the three of them were comfortable with.
"Get over here,” Natalie beckoned. “I was thinking we could have a do-over of Vegas?”
“Vegas?” How Alex managed to make the thoughtful tilt of his head look almost puppyish, sauntering over buck naked, and his hands full of sex paraphernalia, Natalie would never know. He glanced at the cabin door, eyes widening slightly.
“Yep,” Natalie sniggered. “No room service to interrupt here.”
“I think we’ve already established that you are the brains of this relationship, eh?” Kasey prodded her in the side. Natalie was so busy trying to escape the fingers tickling under her last rib that she didn’t hear Alex dropping to his knees behind her, startling as his hair brushed against her cheek. “Stop it,” she laughed, batting away Kasey’s hands, her head tipping back into the kiss Alex was pressing into the curve of her neck.
“Let’s try not to have anybody end up on the floor this time, Kase?” Alex returned the laugh, his steady weight behind her the only thing that was preventing her fall.
“I will bite you,” Kasey lifted a hand from Natalie’s hip to show Alex his middle finger.
“Is that a promise?”
“Do you two want the room to yourself?” Natalie chuckled, pushing her ass back against Alex. She chuckled as his cock twitched in response. “Hmm, I’ll take that as a no. Enough talk then?”
“Fuck, I want to rim you first, please?” Alex groaned lowly, hauling himself from the floor. “And you sir, are wearing too many clothes. Rectify that.” He took the seat next to Kasey, curling his fingers around his jaw and pulling into a needy kiss.
“Oh, he’s bossy today. Better do as he says, Sugar,” Natalie chuckled, sliding from Kasey's lap. He remained seated, his eyes following her every move whilst she quickly dragged one of the armchairs so that it was opposite the sofa. Satisfied, she returned to him, for once being the one to look down at him. She gave him a soft smile, tucking a loose strand of his hair behind his ear. “Come now, There’s a front row seat for you once you’re ready,” she said, hooking her finger into the neckline of the old faded Gryffindor tee he was wearing and urging him to stand.
“And I didn’t even buy tickets,” Kasey laughed lightly, pulling the t-shirt over his head. Natalie shoved him gently, shaking her head at the terrible joke.
Still smiling, Natalie draped herself over the arm of the sofa, her back arched and feet resting on Alex’s thighs. She glanced over her shoulder to find Alex’s gaze fixed past her on Kasey undressing. She couldn’t really blame him, letting herself watch as Kasey shoved his sweatpants down seemingly endless legs. The pants hit the ground with a quiet thud.
“Fuck, I forgot my cell was in there,” Kasey muttered.
“You need to work on your act, babe,” Alex snorted.
The trance-like weight that had filled the room lifted and Natalie dug her toes into Alex’s leg, garnering his attention. “Since you asked so nicely,” she grinned, dancing her fingers over the curve of her ass.
“I did, didn’t I?” Alex hummed, his hand covering Natalie’s. It was warm, and even though his eyes were dark with anticipation, the grasp was gentle. “Just relax, watch Kase,” he said, squeezing their fingers together lightly, nudging her hand away as he let go.
Natalie listened to him, tucking her arms beneath her head and turning to watch Kasey. Alex’s lips were soft against her skin, pressing kisses everywhere from the top of her thighs to the base of her spine. Kasey finished undressing, taking his time to create a meticulously neat stack on the coffee table, leaving only his underwear to the side. She caught his quick look at Alex, but she was too slow to read whatever communication they’d been having, both of their expressions quickly schooled back into innocence. She huffed, any irritation she had felt wiped away by the nip of Alex’s teeth on her ass.
Kasey folded himself into the armchair Natalie had moved, one leg tucked casually beneath the other. The position left his cock exposed and Natalie was about to make a casual quip when Alex let his breath whisper over her asshole. Her whole body tensed, Kasey wrapping his hand around the length of his cock at the same time as Alex let his tongue brush over her sensitive nerve endings. “Fuck, Al,” she whipped her head around, quickly turning to look back at Kasey who was teasing himself with slow strokes. She whimpered, unsure where she wanted to look.
“Sssh,” Alex soothed, “Watch our boy.”
Natalie couldn’t have told you how long it was until Alex shifted again. A few minutes maybe? Perhaps more. That first intense pleasure of his tongue pushing into her slowly morphed into something more relaxing. It was an odd contrast to Kasey getting more and more worked up, his groans escalating until he bucked into his fist one last time, quickly enveloping the head of his cock with his boxers.
“Damn, Snow. Come here,” Alex beckoned Kasey over once he had taken a second to get his body back under his control, his legs still a little wobbly as he made his way over.
Natalie hadn’t even noticed the lazy circles her hips were rubbing into the sofa below her, until Alex stilled them. “Are you ready to take some fingers now, Nat?” he asked, rubbing his thumbs into the back of her thighs in a slow massage.
“So fucking ready.” Natalie rocked back a little to stretch her muscles out. Now that Alex’s tongue wasn’t working her into a euphoric state, she could feel her back protesting the position. “Remind me why we’re doing this here and not in the bedroom again?”
“Something about someone wanting to say they had fucked in front of a fireplace in a cabin,” Kasey drawled.
“Oh yeah, who would that have been?” Natalie gave a small smirk. Perhaps there were easier things they could have done out here, but she was determined to fulfil her fantasy completely.
“You want to switch it up? Kase could lie under you, whilst I prep your booty?”
Natalie laughed, sitting back on her heels to let Kasey lie where she’d been. “I’m officially adding booty to the list of words we don’t say during sex.”
“Such a party pooper," Alex quipped, sticking his tongue out at the eye roll he received from Natalie. He chucked a condom in Kasey’s direction, the latter plucking it from the air with ease. Natalie waited for him to roll it on, and then swung her hips over his. He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her down into a kiss.
“Hey,” Kasey grunted.
“Hey to you too, did you enjoy yourself over there?” Natalie mumbled against his lips, content in the security of his hug.
Kasey hummed, “I like watching you two. You’re my favourite people in the world y’know and you’re both incredibly hot.”
“Jesus,” Natalie huffed out a breath. “Do you want me to start crying?” she chuckled, kissing Kasey again, slow and long. Alex muttered something about them being too cute, before she felt the cool drip of lube between her butt cheeks, long fingers chasing it soon after. Alex took his time, adding more lube with each new finger. Kasey’s hands roamed endlessly over her back, his mouth stealing each approving whine from hers. It seemed unclipping her bralette and pulling the material from between them. She shivered as her nipples brushed against his skin, her body taught with anticipation.
“I’m going to come like this if one of you doesn’t fuck me soon,” Natalie gasped, grinding him. She could feel his cock growing harder each time it slipped through the wet slick pooling between her legs and she wanted nothing more than to take charge.
She didn’t have to though, and sometimes, that was just as nice. “I’ve got you babe,” Alex said, pulling his fingers from her, kissing the back of her neck to quiet the small whine she gave at the emptiness. His lips turned up into a smile against her skin and then he was gone.
Somewhere behind her, she heard the familiar tear of Alex opening a condom, but most of her attention was sought by Kasey. “Can’t wait to be inside of you,” he whispered, brushing her hair from the side of her face. “It’s always so good. And Al’s going to be right there as well. I bet I’ll be able to feel him. We’re going to make you feel so good.”
"Big promises, Kasey Winter," she teased, knowing there was nothing but truth behind the words. Even after all these years, things hadn't gotten boring. Sex wasn't the most important thing in their relationship, and if it had to stop tomorrow for some reason they had s0 much more, still it was something they both valued. Not everything new they tried worked out, but they never took each other for granted and they always had fun and she loved it.
Alex wasn't the first person they'd shared their bed with, however it had quickly become clear he was different. She couldn't deny there had been a small niggling part of her that had wondered if it would weaken her and Kasey's relationship. Of course, Alex had proved her wrong, slotting in perfectly. There had been issues, things they needed to work through, and there always would be. Nevertheless, Alex made things better.
"Natalie?" Alex asked, his fingers tapping against the curve of ass. "You with us?"
“Yeah, sorry. I zoned out. Are you ready?”
“Jeez Kase, I leave you with her for two minutes and she’s already bored. Step it up, lover boy,” Alex laughed, both him and Natalie squealing as Kasey sat up to smack Alex in the arm.
“Alex,” Natalie huffed.
“Sorry, sweetheart,” Alex appeased her. “Here, I think this will be easiest if you sit up,” he suggested helping her into a more upright position and taking the spot behind her. “Yeah, like that. And then Kasey can go from this way,” he waved a hand that was vaguely instructional, waiting for a confirmatory nod from Kasey. “ That good, Nat?”
“I’m good,” Natalie affirmed and Alex pushed into her slowly, both of them groaning as she stretched around him. Natalie leaned back into his chest, his arms strong around her waist. She tilted her head back so he could capture her lips in a sloppy kiss, the short thrusts of hips drawing breathy moans from the both. Neither of them seemed to care when their teeth clashed, both of them too eager to be as close as possible. There wasn’t really enough room on the sofa for the three of them, their bodies slotting together at the most awkward angles, yet they made it work.
“One more, Kase,” Alex uttered. She could feel him squeezing his eyes shut against her neck, his breath coming in breathy pants each time she squeezed around him. Kasey obliged, adding a third finger with his next thrust. Between the two of them, Natalie felt full already, but she wanted more. Kasey was dragging his thumb lazily around her clit in a way that made Natalie’s toes curl, never quite where she needed it, just playing along the brink of something spectacular.
“Kase!” Sometimes Natalie enjoyed the slow dance, being teased until she felt like she was going to explode. Today, however, was not one of those days. She wanted Kasey in her, now.
“I hear you loud and clear, love,” Kasey hummed. “What does the boss man think?”
“The boss man? Is that me? Oh, I like that,” Alex said. The low grumble Natalie gave was almost inaudible. Still, Alex must have felt it because he chuckled, brushing his lips over shoulder blade. “Yeah, I think you better get on with it.”
“Holy shit,” Alex groaned, his fingers squeezing hard into the soft flesh around Natalie’s hips when Kasey sunk into her. “That is incredible.” At first the movements were awkward, but eventually they found a rhythm, Alex slipping out as Kasey pushed forward. Low whimpers fell from her lips with each thrust.
“Are you okay?” Kasey squeezed Natalie’s knee, the act managing to maintain a gentleness to it despite everything else.
“It’s a lot, but it’s good,” Natalie nodded jerkily. She grasped at the limbs around her, trying to gain purchase on the sweat slicked bodies. Her own body felt charged, brimming with electricity as they rocked together. Kasey shifted slightly and if Natalie thought it had been good before, it was nothing compared to this. "Oh my God, don't move. Please don't move."
"There you go, baby." Kasey pulled her closer, his hands firm on her hips, letting her rut against him. Behind her, she could tell Alex was getting close, his babbled exclamations becoming more and more incoherent. She knew the words coming out her own mouth were similarly incomprehensible. It was as if she could feel every inch of Alex’s hastening movements in every muscle. It was simultaneously too much and not enough.
Natalie was pretty sure Alex finished first, the warmth of his come seeping through the thin latex. She didn’t get to enjoy the sensation for long, falling into her own orgasm soon after. She does remember Kasey dragging her hips forwards to fuck her through it, tipping himself over the edge too.
“I’m down for doing that again sometime if you two are?” Natalie hummed once their heart rates had settled to something more like normal. She was sandwiched between Kasey and Alex. Now that the endorphins had started to wane, it was becoming rather uncomfortable, the three of them squeezed onto the small sofa. “Maybe somewhere more convenient next time.”
“Sure,” Kasey replied, his words laced with tiredness and a yawn escaping.
“Don’t you dare fall asleep, Winter. You promised we could watch Black Widow tonight,” Alex sat up, poking Kasey in his side. “Come on, it’s not even late.”
“I’m not gonna fall asleep,” Kasey blinked, once, twice, three times, before giving a heavy sigh.
“Nope, everybody up. Up. Shower time,” Alex clapped his hands together.
“See what happens when you let him take charge, Nat. It goes to his head. Look what you’ve created.” Kasey groaned, rubbing the heel of hand into his eyes. He did sit up though, pulling Natalie with him and she resigned herself to the fact they were moving.
“I want popcorn,” Natalie said, her mouth already watering at the thought of freshly popped kernels.
“Yes, good shout,” Alex agreed. “I think we still have pasta left over from last night too.”
It took a while, but eventually the three of them piled back onto the sofa, steaming bowls of popcorn decorated with pretzels and chocolate sauce on their laps. Natalie ran her thumb over the corner of Alex’s lips wiping away remnants of tomato sauce; the pasta hadn’t made it out of the kitchen. She leaned forward to grab the remote, Alex immediately taking the opportunity to feign throwing a piece of popcorn at Kasey.
“Nuh uh, if you’re going to start playing catch then I’m having the first attempt at catching. You two get all competitive and then I never get a turn,” Natalie reprimanded jokingly, already shifting her bowl to the coffee table so she wouldn’t lose it all.
“Okay, whoever catches the least out of ten has to make breakfast in the morning?” Alex agreed.
“Game on.” As Natalie opened her mouth to make her first catch, she felt a wet finger dip into her ear and the popcorn sailed past her into Kasey’s lap. He picked it up and dropped it into his mouth as a smug smirk. “No!” she protested with a laugh. “That’s cheating. That one doesn’t count.”
Kasey raised his hands in surrender, his own laugh bubbling in his chest. “Alright, alright. I’ll play fair, I promise.”

Piercing Surprise
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I had piercing prompts for the Cubs as well as Remus, so I thought I would combine them. We’ve got Finn getting his piercing with Remus, hope you don’t mind anon. These lovely characters and their story belong to Hazel (@lumosinlove)! The amazing fanart at the end of the fic also belongs to Haz with piercing modifications made by yours truly. I hope you all enjoy!
_____________________________________
Finn had never done anything super wild in his college days. Even now he was pretty straight-laced.
Well.
As straight-laced as a bisexual polyamorous hockey player could be.
Anyways. There was always something he had wanted to do but with college, and then the NHL, he could never find the time to do it. But now the season had just ended and he had a few months of free time. It was perfect.
He had been chatting with Loops at practice when it came up, just an offhand conversation.
“When I was a PT, they were really picky about tattoos and piercings, which sucked cause I wanted both.” Remus had said as they tossed the medicine ball back and forth between them.
That had surprised Finn. A tattoo he could see, but Loops with a piercing was unexpected. “You want a piercing?” He asked.
Remus nodded, “Yeah, there’s one I really like called a vertical labret. Goes through the lower lip and comes out the bottom. I really like how it looked. Might go get after the season is over.”
And that was how it started. Finn did a lot of research, looked into different piercings and healing time. After a while, he decided he wanted the same piercing. Remus had found them a very well recommended piercer and they had made appointments for the same day.
Now the day was here. They hadn’t told their boys where they were going, but honestly they were so into whatever game Nado and Kuny had just brought over, they could’ve walked out only wearing a jockstrap and the three boys wouldn’t have noticed. So they left the Cubhouse and made their way to the piercing place.
“Nervous?” Remus asked as they got out of the car, heading towards the shop.
Finn shrugged, fiddling with the bottom of the hoodie he was wearing. Probably Leo’s. “Little bit. But also excited.”
The shop felt welcoming from the moment they walked in. Felt more like a home than a piercing place. It helped put Finn at ease a bit. The lady at the front desk smiled as they walked in. She had a warm smile as she stood, leaning on the counter in front of her.
“Hi there, boys, welcome to A Jab Well Done. I’m Fae. Do you have appointments?” She asked, as they walked up.
Remus nodded, “Yeah, Remus Lupin and Finn O’Hara. For the vertical labrets?”
Eyes catching on the different piercings shown on the shelf, Finn went to go look. He was excited to pick out new jewelry to wear after it healed up. A pretty one with blue stone stuck out to him, but he’d get all that later on.
“Alright, just need the both of you to fill out the paperwork and sign a waiver, then we’ll get started.” Fae explained, handing them both a couple of papers.
They all moved to the waiting area, where a very comfy couch and a couple chairs were set up. Remus and Finn took the couch, while Fae sat in the chair across from them as they filled out the forms.
Fae sat back in the chair, fixing her hair into a bun, “So are these your first piercings?” She asked. Both boys nodded as they wrote, Finn looking up, “Yeah, I’m excited for it.”
She nodded with a smile, “Piercings are a lot of fun, as long as you take care of them properly. You both have nice lips for the vertical labret. I can tell that it’ll suit you.” “Thanks, I’ve been wanting it for a while so I can’t wait to see it.” Remus said as he finished up the forms. When both of them were finished, they handed over the papers to Fae who led them back to the piercing room.
Setting the papers down on the counter, Fae looked back at the pair, “Alright, so you guys are my only piercings for the next couple hours so I’ve got it mostly set up. Who wants to go first?” She asked as she washed her hands before pulling on some gloves.
“I’m gonna go first, if that’s alright.” Remus said, rubbing his hands together nervously. They trembled slightly but it was a nervous kind of excitement that vibrated through him.
Gesturing towards the chair, Fae had him sit down, setting a marker, an odd pair of tweezers and the needle. “We use a basic steel piercing for the first couple months of healing. You’re welcome to switch it out after it’s healed of course.” She explained before going on to let them know the process. Finn sat next to Remus, recording him so they could show Sirius later.
Gently holding Remus’s lip, she used the marker to place a small dot on the lower lip and then directly below it. “Alright, Remus. I’m going to use these tweezers to squeeze your lower lip, and then I’ll be pushing the needle up from the bottom mark, okay? I’m gonna ask you to take a deep breath, and then push the needle through when you let the breath out.”
Remus nodded, letting out a shaky breath, “Yeah, I’ve got it. Harzy, hold my hand.” He said, wiggling his fingers toward the redhead. Finn chuckled, holding onto Remus’s hand, “Alright, but if Cap comes after me, I’m telling him it was your idea.”
Fae smiled at the boy’s easy friendship, grabbing the tweezers and positioning them on Remus’s lip, “Alright, time for that deep breath we talked about, Remus.” She said as she positioned the needle on the bottom mark.
Closing his eyes, Remus took a deep breath before letting it out, feeling the sharp pain as the needle went through. Finn couldn’t help the gasp as he watched the needle go through.
Fae slid the jewelry in as she pulled the needle out, screwing the little ball in on the top, “We use one that’s a little bigger to account for swelling.” She explained as she pulled away, smiling. “All done. Want to take a look?”
Remus took the mirror she held out, looking at his lip with a careful smile, “I love it. Oh my god, I really love it.” He said, looking between the mirror and Fae. “Thank you so much.”
Nodding, Fae began to clean and sanitize all of her equipment, “Of course. I’ll explain all the aftercare when I’m done with Mr. O’Hara here, that way I don’t have to repeat it.”
Remus moved out of the chair and took the recording phone, letting Finn take his spot, “You ready, Harz?” He asked as Finn let out a breath.
“As I’ll ever be. You gotta hold my hand though, Loops. I held yours.” Finn pointed out, reaching for the other boy’s hand.
Fae repeated the process, marking two dots on Finn’s lip before grabbing the lip with her tweezers, “You ready? Take that deep breath for me, Finn.”
Finn closed his eyes, squeezing Remus’s hand as he inhaled deeply before letting out. It took a lot for him to not burst out with every curse word he knew, because fuck that hurt.
“And you’re done.” Fae said as she fixed the piercing.
Finn leaned forward to look in the mirror, unable to help the grin that spread on his face, “Fuck, that looks good.”
Letting out a laugh, Fae began cleaning everything up and explaining the aftercare. She gave them a packet that went over it as well as the cleaning solution for it.
She led the way back into the front area after they were done, smiling, “Well, boys, I’m so glad you like your piercings. If you have any problems or questions, feel free to call or email. And come back soon!”
After paying and profusely thanking Fae, they headed back out the door towards the car. “Think they noticed we’re gone yet?” Finn asked as they got back in the car.
Remus smirked as he buckled up, “Well, I sent Sirius a snapchat of the piercing shop sign with a smiley face. So I think they’ve got a good idea.”
Letting out a loud laugh, Finn started driving, “Oh, Loops, you fucking mastermind. Is that why they were blowing up our group chat?”
“Yeah, that’s probably why.” Remus murmured with a smirk as they pulled into the driveaway.
As they closed the car doors, three heads appeared in the front window, faces practically plastered to the glass.
Finn couldn’t help the small smirk that appeared on his face as they walked into the house, “Boys, we’re home.” The piercing caused a slight lisp to his words which made him snort to himself.
When they got to the living room, they were met with a hilarious sight. Kuny and Nado were walking out as they walked in. Their boys on the other hand were all standing behind the couch, as if they had been waiting by the window for them to get home.
Nado smiled, “They look good, boys.”
“You send snap, now they stand watch. We go now.” Kuny muttered with a smile before they said their goodbyes, heading out the door.
Remus raised an eyebrow, smiling, “You guys alright?”
A sound that could only be equated to a whine came from Sirius whose eyes hadn’t left Remus’s lips.
Logan made the first move, his hands coming up to hold Finn’s face, “You got your lip pierced? A-And you didn’t even tell us?” He muttered, his thumb coming to trace below the other boy’s lip.
Shrugging as he leaned into his boyfriend’s touch, Finn smiled gently, “Wanted it to be a surprise.”
“Do they hurt?” Leo asked, face curious as he looked the new jewelry attached to Finn’s face.
Remus pulled Sirius to him, smiling, “It’s a bit sore. But it’s fine otherwise.”
Leaning down, Sirius pressed a soft kiss to the shorter boy’s cheek, “It suits you, mon loup.” He murmured.
“Looks so good, Harzy.” Leo said with a grin, intertwining his fingers with Finn’s. He never thought either of his boyfriends would have any piercings, but now that Finn had one. Well he was definitely a fan.
Finn smiled, trying not to bite his lip as was a habit for him, “Well, we recorded the whole thing if you want to see.”
“Oh yeah, Pads, Harzy held my hand and everything.” Remus said with a teasing smirk.
Gray eyes were quickly on the redhead who threw his hands up in defense, “No! No, don’t look at me like that! He asked me to, Cap! I was being a good friend!”
“Three...Two…” As Sirius counted down, Finn was off running away as the captain hit one. Sirius took off after him, running throughout the house.
Remus laughed, watching as he heard the teasing fight between the two, a thud as Sirius caught up to Finn.
“It was a nice surprise, Loops. Even if you did make our boyfriend hold your hand.” Logan said with a grin, leaning into Leo’s chest.
Remus nodded, “Well, it’ll suck for at least six to eight weeks where we can’t kiss anyone.” He mentioned offhandedly.
There was a pause before three voices chorused, “SIX TO EIGHT WEEKS?”
Yes, a long six to eight weeks indeed.

Picnic Birthday
It’s James’ birthday!! I had to write something for Jamiee, i love him so much. He’s just such a loving and kind person and he deserves all the lovee.
characters by the amazing @lumosinlove
CW: Food
~
The morning of march 27th was sunny. James woke up from a pair of soft lips against his cheek and a weight falling on his chest. He opened his eyes to see Harry sitting on his chest. Lily sat next to them and had the biggest grin on her face.
“Good morning, Jamie,” she said with a soft voice. She leaned forward to James and ended in the middle of a sunbeam. Her freckles stood out as golden flecks on her pale skin.
“Good morning, flower,” he replied, before pressing his lips to hers. He tucked a lock of loose hair behind her ears and kissed her nose. “Love you,” he whispered.
“Hi, Da-da!” Harry’s high voice broke through the soft atmosphere. He sat on James’ chest with a gleeful grin.
“Hi, Haz!” James replied with a matching level of enthusiasm. Lily smiled at her small family.
After 30 minutes of snuggling, Lily sat up.
“Now, Harry, let’s put on your jersey, okay?” She faced James again. “There’s breakfast in the kitchen. Your mother and Celeste sent me some recipes, so we should be set for the next 2 months.” She kissed him. “And then later today we have a surprise.” She winked and picked up Harry to get him all dressed up.
~
After breakfast the Potters had sat on the couch and watched Frozen. Watching Disney movies on Saturday morning had become somewhat of a routine in the Potter household. And Harry and James loved it and what else could Lily do but go along with their enthusiasm. And even if she didn’t like the movie, she got to see her husband and son cuddled up and singing along to songs.
After the movie had ended it was already about 1pm and Lily turned the television off. “Now, it’s time for the surprise, right Haz?”
“Yes!” Harry giggled and even though Lily had seen it a hundred times, it was still the sweetest thing. James picked his baby up and followed Lily outside. They walked for about 30 minutes before Lily stopped. They stood in front of the entrance to the park where they went sometimes to relax.
Over the grass in the park laid an enormous picnic blanket. At least two dozen people jumped into his vision.
“Surprise!” Sirius walked up to him.
“Congrats, Pots!” He embraced him and then pulled him to the others. The whole team was there, most of their significant others and even some of their children. The next to congratulate him was Remus, then the cubs, Kasey, Talker. At some point he stopped trying to just greet everyone and decided to just calmly talk with people and start conversations. He’d talk to everyone eventually.
After talking to Kuny and Nado for a bit, he found himself just looking over the field. He was surrounded by people he loved and who loved him. And in the middle of it all stood Lily with Harry. She was engaged in an enthusiastic conversation with Remus and Finn and held Harry on her hip. She was wearing James’ jersey, just like Harry, and under that a pair of jeans. Her hair was tied up in a messy bun and streaks of hair surrounded her face.
It was moments like these where James couldn’t believe how lucky he was to have all these people. To have Logan and Leo, who were also staring at the conversation, undoubtedly staring at Finn. To have Nado and Kuny who were laughing with Nat, Kasey and Alex. To have Sirius, who was in deep conversation with Noelle and Regulus.
“Congratulations, mon fils,” Dumo said with his fatherly smile, breaking James out of his thoughts. “I remember when mine were that small.” Dumo nodded to Harry. James laughed.
“Thanks, Dumo.”
Then Celeste walked to the table in the corner of the field and raised her voice a little. “It’s time for cake, non?” Within minutes there was a line of hockey players waiting for their piece of chocolate and/or fruitcake.
When he sat down next to Lily a minute later with a plate and cake in hand, she smiled at him. “Having fun, Love?”
“Thank you for organizing this, Flower. Love you,” he whispered against her lips.
“James!” A voice broke their kiss. He looked over at Sirius. “They’re playing Killer Queen! Sing with me!” was his explanation. James laughed and headed over to his best friend.
“..She keeps her Moët et Chandon in her pretty cabinet! ‘Let them eat cake’, she says, just like Marie Antoinette-”
And when he laid in bed, hours later, he vowed to himself that he’d make sure that all these people, who showed him so much love, would always feel loved in the way he felt loved.

I love james potter so much

Pieces of us [H.O]
Tumblr media
A/n: Happy Valentine’s Day! I was determined to finish a fic for today and even though it’s super late I did it!! This idea was given to me by the lovely @glowunderthemoon about a year ago now and I finally got around to writing it.  Thank you for the idea Fay and I really hope you and everyone else likes it!
Warnings: tooth-rotting fluff, unedited writing
WC: 2.4k
Your heart was drumming in anticipation, fingers tapping on your leg as you waited for your phone to buzz. You gave another look in the mirror and tried to occupy yourself even though you had been ready for the past 15 minutes. Your dress was perfect, hair styled to match and makeup complimenting everything nicely.
A few years ago when you were single you might’ve hated Valentine’s day but your boyfriend always made you feel the most special on his favourite holiday. He always spoilt you with flowers and cheesy gifts. Suddenly the day didn’t seem that bad anymore.
Unfortunately, you had to work this Valentine’s day which meant missing out on most of the day with Harrison. He still made you breakfast in bed and sent you cheesy texts but you were sad you couldn’t spend the day cuddled up and watching sappy movies with him. It saddened you even more when you came home and to an empty apartment but the moment you saw the cute note and the chocolates, you knew Harrison had something up his sleeve. You had smiled as soon as you saw the dress laid out on the bed, knowing it was your boyfriend's favourite. The little note attached told you to get ready for a date so you did but you hadn’t expected Haz to make you wait so long.
Just as you were straightening down your dress for the fifth time, your phone buzzed on the table. You rushed to look at it, smiling as you saw a text from Harrison but your expression soon fell into confusion as you read it.
My darling, tonight is no ordinary date. It’s been a whole year of us and it’s been the best year of my life. Start by looking at the place where I first said those three little words.
You furrowed your brow and gave a small laugh, knowing your boyfriend was up to something. You thought back to when he had first told you he loved you and knew to look around the couch.
It had been one of your classic movie nights; popcorn, drinks and a movie that you never paid much attention to. His lips were on yours, his arms around your waist as he held you in his arms before he whispered those three little words against your lips. He almost apologised, thinking it was too soon before you shut him up with a kiss and repeated those words back to him.
You smiled at the memory before finding a photograph on the cushion. It was one of the first you and Harrison had taken together, smiling cheekily into the camera with his hand wrapped around you. You remembered thinking about how cocky (and cute) he was that night when you went on a night out with him and your mutual friends. He was even cuter drunk.
The photo made your heart race faster but did nothing to ease your confusion.
On the back of the photo there was writing, scrawled out in Haz’s messy writing it read: Being with you is the easiest thing in the world and nothing, no one makes me happier. So for your second clue, remember when I stepped on your shoe.
You laughed out loud and paused in confusion, trying to figure out his riddle before realising there was something else written at the very bottom in small print. The title of yours and Haz’s song. The one that always made you smile when you heard it because it made you think of him. And then suddenly it clicked.
You remembered how it had become your song. It was midnight and you felt exhausted as you looked around at the messy kitchen, boxes and bags were everywhere. Haz carried in the last box and set it on the floor before leaning against the counter next to you.
There wasn’t much in your new kitchen besides what was already there and an old portable radio. Haz turned it on to a random station and Just the way you are by Bruno Mars started playing. He smiled and took your hand, pulling you into the only clear space in the room and starting to dance with you.
Suddenly you didn’t care how tired you were or what time it was, all that mattered was Haz and this new life you were starting together. He twirled you around making you both burst into laughter as he accidentally stood on your toes. It was one of the best nights ever.
You hurried to the kitchen and looked around, noticing a single rose on the countertop next to a picture of you and Harrison kissing on a beach. You smiled wide as you remembered the day, it was your first weekend away together and Harrison had whisked you away to a tropical sandy beach, staying in a cosy beach house. You didn’t get much done that weekend but it was still one of the best of your life.
You looked at the photo before turning it over and reading Haz’s writing: The views that weekend were nothing compared to the view I had in the bedroom ;) It was the best vacation and now for the third location. Outside is where you should go, specifically where I first kissed you slow.
Your first kiss, of course. You let out a giggle and took the rose, smelling it’s sweet scent before grabbing a coat and heading outside, following your instructions. Harrison had first kissed you on your first date, you still remember feeling his lips against yours for the first time, a feeling you would never tire of.
You arrived at the arcade and looked around, so many memories flooding back to you. It had been too long since you’d come back here. The place was fairly empty apart from a few couples playing games together and a group of friends cheering loudly as someone got a high score on the dance dance revolution game. Haz had fallen over twice on that game but his true skill was air hockey and he got so competitive when you both played that night.
He’d even won you a teddy bear with his tickets from the games and that’s when he’d took his chance to make his move and kissed you. It had caught you by surprise but you were soon locking lips with him and holding him close in the middle of the arcade, without a care in the world.
You found a bear similar to the one you still kept at home sitting on the air hockey table and your heart melted that Haz had remembered. It held a heart saying ‘being mine’ with a photo attached to it. The photo this time showed you and Harrison kissing when you were both drunk, a memory one of your friends had captured. You giggled and flipped it over to read the clue.
For your fourth and final clue, look for where we first met as two.
A smile lifted on your lips as you remembered in an instant the location you needed to go to. You tucked the photo in the pocket of your jacket along with the others and thought about the time you had been with Haz and of the photos that signified your relationship. Of course there were many more than just the ones in your pocket but Haz had picked these ones for a reason.
You drove to the park nearby where you had first met your boyfriend. It was a late autumn afternoon, the leaves crunching underneath your feet as your dog led the charge and sniffed at the beautiful scent of nature that surrounded them. You were wrapped up in the same coat you were wearing now with a hot drink from your favourite cafe that spread warmth to your hands. You furrowed your brow as your dog started barking and pulled you along at a faster pace to go and sniff another dog who was barking back at them.
The dog was beautiful and once they met in the middle, having dragged both owners along, they started to nuzzle into each other and lick. You giggled and sipped your drink before looking up at the owner hoping to share the humor and make a witty joke about puppy love but instead you almost choked. The owner of the beautiful dog was even more astounding. He had sandy blonde curls and blue eyes that caught you off guard as they matched the sky above.
“Talk about puppy love huh?” He commented, a cup similar to yours in his hands as he smiled at you and for a moment you forgot what air was.
“Hey that was my joke.” You giggled as he laughed and apologised. The conversation after that continued to flow easily and whilst normally you hated meeting strangers, you had to admit that handsome tall blonde guy wasn’t so bad. Even after you learnt his name and swapped numbers, that was still his contact name which he never missed an opportunity to tease you about. You met up after that under the excuse of more puppy play dates before the dogs weren’t the only ones going out on dates and the rest, as they say, is history.
You pulled up to the park with a fond smile and got out of your car, turning off the radio which had just been playing your song. The short walk from the car to the park wasn’t enough to prepare yourself for what you saw. A soft gasp emitted from your lips as you spotted the gazebo in the middle of the park lit up with fairy lights, a picnic blanket and food laid out for two. A violinist was playing next to it with a familiar tune that you had just heard on the radio; your song.
And then you spotted him, standing in the middle of the gazebo in a suit and tie with a large bouquet of roses and the smile that had made you fall in love with him. As you walked closer, you started to tell he was nervous with the way his hands shook slightly and whilst you didn’t know why it was still as cute as ever. You just wanted to hold his hands in yours and tell him everything was going to be okay.
He was holding a hand behind his back as he greeted you and kissed you softly. “Happy Valentine’s my love.”
You smiled and took the roses, looking at Harrison with so much love and a few tears in your eyes. “You did all of this for me?”
Harrison took your hands in his and gazed lovingly at you, “Everything is for you Y/n.”
You wrapped your arms tightly around him and sniffled, letting out a giggle as he picked you up in his arms. It wasn’t until you were here that you realised how much you had missed Harrison even in the short time you’d been apart.
“I love you. Thank you for this baby.”
“I love you too my beautiful rose.” He kissed your nose and made you giggle again before pulling away slightly. You pouted and tried to follow but he only smiled and shook his head. “I’m sure you’re wondering why I sent you to find all those pictures and clues.”
You nodded and bit your lip, trying to contain your excitement. Haz smiled wide but you could sense a bit of nervousness behind it. You knew him too well. Just as you were about to ask what was going on,  he picked up a book from behind him and gave it to you.
You hummed in curiosity and looked at it. You quickly realised it was a scrapbook titled Our adventure which reminded you of one of your favourite disney movies, Up. Harrison encouraged you to open it and as you did you saw all of your favourite pictures. Some were from special moments in your lives like the ones you had collected and others were silly photos you and Haz had taken through the years.
You could feel your heart melting into a puddle as you looked through the pages. “Haz this is-” You paused and took a deep breath, at a loss for words. “This is beautiful.”
“Keep going love.” Haz encouraged, wiping a tear that fell on your cheek and admiring how beautiful you looked in that moment as you fondly remembered the memories you shared together. He was so glad you liked his final gift, he preferred homemade things and this had taken him the longest and most effort to put together.
He waited until you were right near the end before finally putting his last piece of the puzzle into action and stepping away. He pretended to go down and tie his shoelaces and waited until he heard a small gasp come from your lips as you saw the last page.
There was a polaroid of an engagement ring along with the words Will you marry me?
“Haz-?” You looked up, your face full of surprise and shock as you saw Harrison down on one knee with the engagement ring from the picture in his hand. The tears that had been threatening to fall since the hunt started finally found their way down your cheeks as you realised what was happening.
“Y/n L/n, my love, my soulmate. Will you marry me?”
Harrison’s sparkling blue eyes looked up at you with hope and nerves as he felt his whole body about to explode from the suspense. You didn’t even take a breath before nodding your head quickly, “Yes!”
You kept repeating your answer as you tackled your new fiancé with a hug and kissed him everywhere you could reach. He laughed and wrapped his arms firmly around you, never wanting to let go.
And he never did.
The scrapbook became a part of your relationship as much as your vows did on the day you got married. There were 4 pages full of wedding photos and 2 of photos from your Honeymoon to Hawaii where you recreated the beach picture from your first weekend away together.
The final piece of the puzzle however, was the sonogram photo you got from your first scan showing the newest addition to your family. A new scrapbook was made after that titled The Osterfield Family Adventure.

3 Times The Cubs Struggled Alone, And 1 Time They Had Each Other
This is ficlet number two for the wonderful @kielemarie, means the fucking world to me, and I love her so much. She is the older sister I always wanted. Thank you Marie for always being there, and Happy Birthday!
The characters, are, as always, from the amazing @lumosinlove. Go give Haz a follow!
This ficlet is meant to show how mental shit can impact someone’s life and that is okay. People can still thrive with mental shit, and they can still be amazing people.
Finn
For the first time since he met Logan, Finn knew he wasn't going to see Logan anytime in the near future. And god he was worried. Worried about Logan, worried about Logan getting hurt, worried about what will happen when he stops repressing his feelings, just worried about Logan in general. And god, that's when he wasn't even thinking about his current season; rookie on Gryffindor Lions, his dream team.
Finn was playing with some of the greats, Pascal Dumais, Kasey Winters, Sirius Black, and James Potter; to name a few. But the stress could be too much sometimes; the pressure on his shoulders during every game was never lifted. All Finn could think about was how he was some little kid's idol; how they were rooting for him.
Normally, that was enough for him to get through the day without worrying about Tremz, but today was different; it was one of the days were he woke up on edge, where he was missing Lo so much that it hurt, where the only thing that was keeping him from calling was what had happened before he'd left.
Practice had ended up making him miss Logan even more; the sound of pucks slapping on sticks reminded him of doing drills with Lo, doing their handshake before they went out onto the ice, all of their memories together came flooding back.
And god he was even more worried about Lo than he was before. It all was too much, his chest was crushed underneath the weight of his worry; what if Logan slipped on the ice and fell, what if he got into a fight, what if something happened and Finn wasn’t there to stop it. What if he never spoke to Logan again and they ended on bad terms? Logan meant too much to lose him that way. And what if Logan got drafted, but to another team? He’d lose all contact.
 Finn’s head was filled with static, his thoughts were getting louder and faster, his heart was pounding, and his breaths were coming in short pants. In the back of his mind he vaguely registered Dumo skating over, but his mind was in too much distress to care.
But then, as suddenly as it started,  everything stopped. His mind seemed as though it had been covered in a fog, his thoughts were still there but they were quiet and muted. Everything seemed fake, as if he was in a dream. The world was softer. He was gripping the side of the arena, with no recollection on how he had gotten there.
Dumo was gripping his arm, waiting for a response to something. When it became evident that Finn didn’t know what was going on he repeated the question. “Harzy are you okay?” Finn knew he wasn’t going to leave without a response so he waved Dumo off with a mumbled ‘I’m fine’.
Remus was waiting at the side door, opening it when Finn skated closer. “Come on, that looked nasty, let’s check you out.” Finn nodded and Remus ushered him into the PT room. Things were - for Finn at least, still moving slowly, as if he had just woken up but felt like he didn’t sleep at all. “That looked like a nasty panic attack you just had there. You feel fine now yeah?” Remus’ voice jolted Finn out of the slow reality, everything still looked like a dream, but he was less disoriented.
“Yeah Loops, I’m just tired. Want to go home and take a nap” Finn sat down on a chair near Remus’ desk, waiting to be examined.
Remus nodded. “That’s understandable, panic attacks take a lot out of someone. How about you head home, eat and drink something, and get some rest. You’ll feel better in the morning.”
After a quick thank you and an even quicker cool down, Finn was driving home. On the drive he debated calling Logan, but decided against it. He didn’t even know if Logan wanted to speak with him. Finn knew talking to Lo would make him feel better, but he didn’t want to be a bother. Plus, they had left on bad terms, he didn’t want to make anything worse.
As soon Finn got home he dropped his keys on the kitchen counter and headed  towards the living room. Since calling Logan was out of the question he’d settle down and read. And there was only one book that would help him out of this disconnected state.
Finn pulled a glossy new copy of The Song of Achilles from the shelf. His battered, annotated copy must have been forgotten at Harvard, even though he distinctly remembers putting it in a box. A part of him wishes that Lo took it out and kept it, to always have a part of Finn with him even when they were apart; like he did with Logan’s favorite snapback, but he knows that’s just wistful thinking.
Finn quickly grabs a blanket and settles down on the couch, ready to lose himself to the familiar story of Achilles and Patroclus.
Logan
Logan woke up to the harsh beeping of his morning alarm. It reminded him of Finn - which, to be fair, wasn’t difficult because Logan’s head was always filled with thoughts of the older boy. But the alarm was always a harsh call to reality. If Fish was there, Logan would be awoken by Finn’s soft shuffling as he tried to get ready for practice.
But Finn wasn’t there. He was off in Gryffindor, hundreds of miles away. Finn was off playing for the Lions, probably not thinking about Logan at all. It wouldn’t be fair to distract him from his dream.
Logan missed him so much. It physically hurt to be away from him. Oh how he wished he could just cover Finn in kisses. How he wanted to hold hands. Logan just wanted Finn to hold him and tell him that he was loved.
But Finn didn’t feel the same way; he couldn’t. Logan didn’t know what he would do if Finn felt the same. They’d have to hide their love, and that surely would end in disaster. They’d be kicked off the team, out of the league.
And hell, why would Finn even feel the same. Finn was a golden boy, perfect grades, tall, good at hockey, recruited by the best team in the league. Why would someone that perfect want him. Him, with average grades, who half the time can’t read the words on a page because the letters spun, who represses his feelings, who won’t let himself be happy. Why would Finn ever want someone as flawed as Logan. And even if Finn did want him Logan wouldn’t let him, he wouldn’t let Finn ruin his career over someone as insignificant as himself.
Logan knew he had practice, but he couldn’t bring himself to get out of bed. He didn’t have the energy to move from the warmth underneath his covers, let alone go to practice. He heard John rap on his door, yelling at him to get up for practice, but he didn’t have the strength to respond. He’ll tell the coach he didn’t feel well.
Logan knew that Finn was one of the few things that caused him happiness in this world, and with him gone, nothing seemed to matter. The days all bled together in a pattern of practice, eat, cry, sleep. Occasionally, when it hurt to even think about Finn, Logan would take a bottle of vodka to his room and drink himself silly before crying himself to sleep. He knew that Finn would hate what he’s doing to himself, but it doesn’t matter. Finn wasn’t there with him.
Tears were starting to fog Logan’s eyes as he reached for Finn’s battered copy of The Song of Achilles. He’d taken it to remember Finn by, knowing full well he may never seen Finn again. He opened it up just to see Finn’s handwriting, to remember the late nights they had shared where Finn would read this story aloud.
Logan’s face was wet with tears now, they were flowing freely down his cheeks. Regardless to that fact, Logan pressed his face into the pages of the book. He knew it wouldn’t smell like Finn anymore - it hadn’t in months, but it was worth looking for anyways. When it inevitably didn’t the sobs came. The heart wrenching, aching sobs that came from the bottom of his chest. The sobs that were making his grief known to the world. The sobs that showed just how much pain he was in. He didn’t know when they stopped, or how long they went on for, but after time they turned into small sniffles; and Logan fell into a restless sleep, still curled around Finn’s book.
Leo
There was nothing to do and that was gnawing at his senses. Normally it’s enough to re-tie his skates, tighten his gear, repeatedly drink his water, and turn his gloves in his hands, but today that didn’t seem like enough. The fact that he had nothing to do was making him want to rip his hair out. There was nothing to do and that was bringing his mood down to zero. Everything was not enough but simultaneously was too much.
The lights of the arena were too bright; the sound of the crowd seemed to be grating at his brain. Leo’s foot was moving without control, flicking up and down at high speed, seemingly unaware of the fact he had what essentially was a knife strapped onto his foot.
Leo’s mind was going into overdrive, his thoughts were going too fast for him to comprehend. He needed to get out, but he couldn’t, he had to be there, even if it pained him. He looked up at the scoreboard, but the glowing red numbers hurt his eyes and made the migraine that was already approaching intensify.
Leo closed his eyes and rubbed them with his palms, attempting to make all the light disappear and make the sound a little more bearable. But the noise was still grating at his senses, making his brain feel as though it was melting. The crowd cheering, the announcers commentating, the skates scraping against the ice, the sound of the puck hitting the sticks, and the chatter of his teammates on the bench was becoming too much for him to handle, if another sound was added to the mix he’d have to leave, consequences be damned. Leo squirted some water into his mouth, things always felt worse when he was dehydrated and the odds were he probably was.
But then Coach was calling him in, something about Kasey’s leg acting up again, and Leo knew he’d just have to put up with his senses being in overdrive for the rest of the game.
Together
Things get better after they get together. The bad days don’t disappear, they just become less frequent. Not by much; but by a little. When Finn got stressed about something Leo and Logan were there with words of encouragement and reassurance. How they’d always stay with him, they were going to be okay. When Logan had days where everything seemed hopeless and he didn’t want to get out of bed or when the letters on the page refused to stay still, Finn and Leo were there by his side; whether whispering sweet nothings, giving soft kisses, or just staying by him, reassuring him of their presence. When Leo’s senses were in overdrive and everything was too much Logan and Finn were there, keeping him company and trying to make everything more bearable. The bad days were still there, but now they had each other to lean on.

wait- hockey players have to be fitness tested AFTER being drafted?? I know about the combine but they have to do MORE? will no one give these boys a BREAK
If you have a contract, you have a contract. They can't kick you off or anything, but you can be sent down. It varies a lot and I find it pretty fascinating! Take K'Andre Miller for example. He was drafted, but he's young and was probably planned to go to the AHL farm team for a bit to develop more. At training camp, however, he really proved himself and now he is one of our stars. Now, that wouldn't happen to a player like Alexis Lafrenière who is even younger but was the first overall draft pick - just like we didn't send Kaapo Kakko anywhere, the second overall pick two (three?) years ago, when he was underperforming. Someone like Ryan Lindgren, who is a veteran player but was sent down for a bit there, is another case. He was doing okay, but they thought he could, even at his later stage of career, use some tuning up.
I'm finding a middle ground with Remus. He probably has an entry level contract, but he's basically a rookie and would definitely be tested and watched more closely for skill and physicality. He shouldn't be too nervous, and Sirius isn't because he knows they'll at least give him a fourth line chance, but Remus is Remus, and Remus is what I think of as a level-headed worrier like me XD.

The Spare - Regulus SW AU
Hello fellow people,
after Sweater Weather Chapter 14 of the wonderful Hazel (@lumosinlove), I felt inspired to write my own attemps (and very first fic) about Regulus in the AU.
So thank you Haz for the inspiration and the wonderful writing. Can´t wait to see what you´re up to next. :)
And many thanks to the SW Discord for the love, support and encouragement to put my wirting out there.
Its not complete, yet but still a little long to just smash the whole text in this post. So, here you´ve got a link to the work on AO3 and some snippets:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/25691653/chapters/62377024
 As the plain slowly descended into landing on Slytherin Airport, Regulus' fidgeting with the cuff of his suit was interrupted by the harsh grip of his mother’s hand on his wrist.
"Regulus, arrête ça!" Stop that! she spat, her voice low but coldly settling into his bones nonetheless. "It is high time to drop your childish attitude. You are a Snake now, don't befoul your father’s reputation by acting all shy and flustered. You are expected to brim over with pride for following his legacy."
Straightening his shoulders, he gave her a small nod "Bien sûr, Maman."
He was, and still is absolutely determined to make his parents proud, exited to prove to everyone that he is just as good as his famous brother, if not better. Especially as Sirius turned out to be such a disappointment.
______________________________________________________________
Three weeks into practice and Regulus had to admit that he was much less well-exercised than he had estimated and started to panic. What if he was just not good enough? He could not disappoint his parents after they put so much time and money in his career.
He was the sole focus of their ambition, the one chance to bring the name Black back to his fathers beloved Snakes but his muscles burned every night. How much stretching he did and which cool-down routines he rattled through after practice seemed to make no difference.
Additionally, he had developed the new and thrilling habit of falling asleep everywhere as long as he did not move for a concerningly short amount of time. And everywhere, unfortunately, included not only the armchairs in their team lounge and every seating-accommodation at Malfoy Manor but also his stall, the bench during practice brakes and even the shower - if he got carried away enough to lean against the tiles.
______________________________________________________________
He didn't want to talk about Sirius' private life, he didn't even know him anymore. This interview was so far away from Hockey is about hockey only, that it just disappeared behind the horizon.
A movement behind the reporter caught his eye. Riddle was staring at him expectantly, arms crossed, jaw set. Before Regulus could start to panic, his self-preservation-mode kicked in, shunning out every thought, every emotion. He retreated into himself, eyes gone cold, and did as he was told.

Simply having a wonderful Christmas Time [Part 1]
Merry Christmas to all those folks who celebrate today! This one is dedicated to those of you of who are perhaps not spending Christmas in the way that you would like this year. I hope this brings you a little bit of Joy. Please note that this fic is filled with happy Christmas people so if that is going to make you feel worse then please avoid. I’m hoping to have a Coops instalment up for those who celebrate on the 25th and O’Knutzy on 26th for all those who have boxing day and second Christmas.
CW: CHRISTMAS AND FOOD TALK
Rating: T, there are some sexual implications but I’m pretty happy leaving this at a T. Let me know if you think that needs to change.
And finally, to @lumosinlove. Thank you for creating the sweater weather universe and in particular the fabulous OC’s that feature in this fic. They really have been a light in the darkness of this year.
Anyway, let’s get on with this show.
P.S. Yes, we are just ignoring the fact that hockey players most definitely do not get two weeks off at Christmas.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alex had bitched for days about spending his Christmas in the heat of Mauritius - he wasn’t supposed to be opening presents in shorts, dammit - but he’d been willing to concede that he may have been wrong from the very moment that he had stepped through the door of their beach front villa.
He was tired and groggy from the day of travel. The recycled air of the plane had made his throat scratchy; he needed a long, hot shower, and he was generally miserable.
“Almost there now, sweetcheeks,” Natalie reassured him as the taxi rounded a corner. “You’re going to love it, I promise.”
The villa was one that Natalie and Kasey had stayed in a few times before, boasting of it’s view and proximity to perfect waves. Right now, Alex didn’t really care about those things. As long as the villa had a comfortable bed and a large shower, he’d be satisfied.
Natalie was right, and soon the three of them were piling out of the car, hauling bags of luggage behind them. They were only there for two weeks but somehow had five large suitcases between them.
“I swear, I’m going to sleep for two days,” Alex grumbled as Kasey keyed in the number to obtain the keys.
“Try and stay awake for a few more hours,” Kasey said. “You’ll feel way better tomorrow for it.”
“Yeah, yeah, jetlag, blah, try to acclimatise to local time, blah -” Alex’s rant was cut short as he stepped through the door. “Wow,” he gasped.
The villa was gorgeous. He’d expected the large expanse of open plan luxury; a haven of polished metal and glass windows that showed panoramic views of white sand meeting a crystal clear sea. What he hadn’t expected was the giant Christmas tree, at least a few feet taller than himself, and the rest of the expertly placed decorations.
“Do you like it?” Kasey asked. Alex saw the glance that he and Natalie shared. They were probably worried, he’d been frozen in place for the last 30 seconds.
Alex nodded, taking a moment to find his words, “It’s incredible. Just like home. Better.”
Everywhere he looked there was something new. A wreath on the wall. Faux furs draped over the seating. A garland that snaked all the way up the spiral staircase.
“Are those?” Alex stepped towards the stockings that hung on the wall. Each one had a name sewn into it. Natalie. Alex. Kasey.
“Yeah,” Natalie nodded. “One for each of us. Lils made those.”
Alex let himself be pulled into Kasey’s arms, feeling a bit overwhelmed.
“We know that Christmas with your family is very important to you and we just want you to know that we are incredibly grateful that you decided to spend it with us this year,” Kasey said softly.
“Finn already bailed anyway,” Alex gave a small laugh. He felt Natalie join them and her arms were also there, enclosing Alex between his two favourite people.
“We told them to leave the tree. Thought we could decorate it together?” Natalie told him.
“God, I love you two.” Alex breathed.
That had been ten days ago. Now, a cheesy Christmas movie played on the TV but Alex wasn’t paying it much attention; enjoying the memory and being curled into Kasey’s chest. His fingers played idly with Natalie’s blonde waves as she snored softly in his lap.
It was the perfect end to a perfect day, a delicately balanced mixture of tradition and newness. Alex saw how hard his partners had worked to give him a Christmas day that rivalved those of his memories with his family and Alex couldn’t wait to thank them properly for it tomorrow. For now though, he was content to just bask in the moment.
“Al,” Kasey whispered. “Do you want to head to bed? I’m not really watching this.”
Alex looked up at Kasey, a gentle smile resting on his lips, “Yeah, bed sounds good to me.”
“Shotgun, not waking Natalie up” Kasey laughed.
“No need to wake her up. I’ll carry her,” Alex said. "Besides, she’s not that bad.”
Kasey frowned, “She bit me once.”
“Yeah, and did you clap in her ear like you did to me that time?” Alex replied. “Because if so, then you deserved it.”
“Not my fault you both sleep like the dead.” Kasey mumbled under his breath, switching off the TV and taking their dirty glasses to the sink.
Natalie gave a small grumble as she was picked up, wriggling in Alex’s arms before settling herself into the crook.
“God, she’s so cute.” Alex spoke quietly.
“You both are.” Kasey said with a grin, pressing a kiss first to Natalie’s cheek and then Alex’s. He led them the short distance to the bedroom, pulling the thin sheets on the bed back so that Alex could lie Natalie down.
“I’m just gonna brush my teeth,” Alex started to walk towards the en-suite but suddenly his phone was vibrating against the bedside table. The noise seemed extraordinarily loud in the quiet room. “Fuck, that’ll be Finn. Get that please, Kase?”
Kasey grabbed the phone and Alex heard a snort as he read the contact name, Fillet O’Fish.
“Hi!” Finn’s voice boomed a few seconds before his face appeared.
“Sssh.” Kasey hissed, rapidly hitting the down volume key.
“Oh, hi, Blizz,” Finn said. “Don’t know why I wasn’t expecting you. You’re naked. Why are you naked? Am I interrupting something? Is Alex naked too? I don’t want to see that.”
Alex plucked the phone from Kasey’s hand with a laugh. “He’s not naked, we’re just getting reading for bed,” Alex replied, panning the camera down and showing Kasey’s plaid pyjama pants to prove his point.
Alex pecked Kasey on the lips, “I’m going to take this to the other room.”
“Alright,” Kasey returned the kiss. “Merry Christmas Finn,” he added, giving the camera a wave.
“Merry Christmas, Kase!” a chorus of replies was heard.
Alex wandered from the bedroom, settling himself into a seat that gave a stunning view of the beach that their villa was sat on.
“Wait, isn’t it only 9 pm there?” Finn asked. “Why are you going to bed already?”
Before Alex could answer, Logan appeared in the frame, leaning over the back of the sofa to wrap his arms around Finn’s neck, “So nosy, Fish. Maybe they tired each other out, eh?”
Finn’s nose wrinkled with a look of disgust, “eww.”
“Nothing like that,” Alex laughed. “Not this evening anyway,” he continued, a slight twinkle in his eyes.
“Get it, Alex,” Leo teased, flopping himself onto the sofa next to Finn.
“Look at this view,” Alex said, turning the camera so they could see the idyllic scenery in an attempt to change the subject. It only served to trigger a memory from earlier that day, one that he probably shouldn't have been thinking about whilst on the phone with his brother.
Alex sighed happily to himself as he looked down at the watch on his wrist. It looked out of place against his bright blue and pink flamingo shorts, but Alex had received it from Kasey earlier that morning and he refused to take it off.
It was barely 11 am. However, it was Christmas day, so Alex didn't feel even the slightest bit guilty about the cosmopolitan balanced between his fingers, as he waited for Natalie and Kasey to come back from their surf. Alex wasn’t the biggest fan of the water, preferring to stay in the shade of the giant umbrella they had set up despite Natalie’s playful chirping.
Alex had pointed the watch out on his and Kasey’s first date without Natalie. They'd been heading to the aquarium when Alex had spotted it in the window of the jewellers. He'd made the briefest passing comment about how beautiful it was and it made Alex's heart sing that Kasey had remembered.
As if they knew that he was thinking about them, Alex saw the sun bronzed figures of his partners making their way towards him. They looked good; fitted wetsuits showing off their toned bodies and their faces brightened by laughter. Alex loved Kasey’s laugh, people thought it was rare but he just saved it for those that he thought truly deserved it. Apparently, Alex was one of those people now.
“Close your mouth, O’Hara.” Natalie teased, grabbing a towel and piling her hair into it.
“Hmm,” Finn nodded, pulling Alex from the memory too soon. “That is beautiful. I think mine has been better though.” His brother's eyes glanced back towards Logan with a smirk and Alex had a sneaking suspicion that Logan's torso wasn't the only thing that was bare.
"Yeah, you can keep that one for yourself," Alex retorted.
“Hey Haz! Did Kase like his present?” Leo asked.
Alex had enjoyed getting to know his brother’s second boyfriend. He offered a stabilizing presence to Finn and Logan’s chaos and to paraphrase shrek, “he was like an onion, he had layers.” Leo had been Kasey’s secret santa and Alex hated to admit it, but he had done a great job.
“Unfortunately yes,” Alex pretended to glare. “I suppose I have Finn to thank for helping you with that?”
Leo shook his head, “Your mom actually. She was more than willing to send many photos of baby Alex.”
Alex barked out a laugh, “Of course she was.” He couldn’t really be mad. The three of them had spent an age flipping through the scrapbook of his childhood photos, laughing at the annotations that Leo had added in his delicate script.
The alarm on Leo’s phone blared. “Sorry, that’s the timer for the potatoes,” the blond apologised. “I better go and check on them.”
“I can come and help.” Finn said.
Alex saw Leo visibly wince before he replied, "No thank you sweetheart. Y’all stay and talk with your brother.”
Alex raised an eyebrow, “Do I even want to know what disasters you are causing?”
“You cannot talk, Alexander,” Logan defended. “You nearly burnt your kitchen down making toast.”
Alex didn’t have an argument to that, it was true. He hadn’t been much help with Christmas dinner either.
“Are you sure that you don’t want me to do anything?”  Alex asked for the thousandth time. Besides setting the table, he really hadn’t done much to help with the meal and he didn’t feel great about it.
“Yes,” Natalie insisted. “We really do not need a trip to the ER today. Just sit down and look pretty.”
He protested a little but did as he was told. He watched Natalie and Kasey work, moving seamlessly around one another. And then Alex was standing again. He went back inside, ignoring his partner's queries. He was only going to be a moment anyway. Alex reappeared with his camera. He may not be able to cook, but he was excellent at photography. He remembered how they had found so much joy in looking at the photos of himself earlier and wanted to document their first Christmas together. Hopefully, in years to come it would bring them similar joy.
He took photo after photo of the meal coming together. Kasey flipping the steaks on the BBQ. Natalie glazing the prawns in sauce. The private glances they shared.
The camera was taken out of his hands and he heard the shutter snap as Natalie fed him pieces of peach.
He beckoned the two of them over and took a few shots of the three of them together, Santa hats perched on their heads, until Natalie was cursing about something burning.
He’d go through the photos later but he doubted there would be many that he wanted to delete.
“Earth to Alex!” Finn shouted and Alex blushed as he realised that they had been trying to get his attention for a little while.
Logan rolled his eyes, “You and Finn make the same stupid faces.”
“Oi!” Alex and Finn exclaimed together.
“C’est Vrai,” Logan chimed.
“I’ll admit to being a hopeless romantic.” Alex shrugged. “It’s part of my charm.”
Finn snorted at that, “It’s not my fault that you and Le are so cute.”
“Agreed.” Alex nodded. “Nat and Kase should be less perfect. It’s all their fault really.”
“You’re both disgusting,” Logan groaned, but he was pressing his lips to the bare flesh on the back of Finn's neck, and Alex had known those two long enough to know exactly where that was going.
“On that note, I am going to bed. Have a fantastic Christmas, boys.”
Don’t Forget About Me, 2 | T.H.
Tumblr media
Teaser | Part one |
Summary: The day two broken souls collided and the aftermath of the collision.
Pairing: College!Tom Holland X Fem!Reader
Word Count: 4.8K
Warnings: Alcohol consumption again and still some awkwardness but just enough shy smiles to make it okay
-
The early morning light spilled on the floor of the room as Y/n stirred awake. For a moment, she didn’t know where she was, but it soon came back to her. That and the dehydration. She had to get her hands on a glass of water or she was going to die. Or at least she felt like she was going to.
A soft snore was heard behind her and Y/n froze. She finally remembered that she wasn’t alone and that Tom was sleeping next to her. She glanced over her shoulder. He looked so peaceful, his hair a mess but a serene expression on his face.
She turned back around, deciding to get up to find something to drink. But when she moved, Tom rolled closer to her and put his arm around her, pulling her closer as he nuzzled his face in her neck. Her heart skipped a beat in her chest but Y/n stopped moving, not wanting to wake him up.
She waited for a moment, hoping that Tom was going to wake up by himself. Soon enough Y/n started to feel uncomfortable, her back aching from the position that she was in. She moved a little, trying to turn on her side so that Tom would end up spooning her instead but that was enough to wake him up.
Tom rolled on his back, freeing Y/n who suddenly felt cold.
“Mornin’” Tom mumbled, his voice still sleepy.
“Good morning”, Y/n said, glancing at Tom.
How could his profile look so good too? His eyes fluttered opened and he groaned before turning around, hiding his face in a pillow.
“Fucking hell”, he muttered.
Y/n laughed a little, knowing damn well that he had drunk a lot more than she had did yesterday night. “Hangover?”
“Mmh.”
She smiled before getting up, moving towards her bag to find something decent to get dressed with. She glanced at Tom, who was already looking at her.
“What?” she asked.
“Can’t get over your PJs”, he replied and a smile lazily spread on his lips.
Y/n’s cheeks turned red as she chose what to wear. “M gonna take it off, sorry.”
“Even better”, Tom said cockily.
Her cheeks burned even more as she rolled her eyes. “You’re a dumbass.”
Tom chuckled but didn’t say anything.
“Don’t look”, Y/n said and Tom sighed deeply before hiding his face in the pillow.
Y/n quickly got dressed, watching Tom’s back as she did so to make sure he wasn’t going to look. She sat back on the bed when she was done but Tom didn’t move.
“Tom?” Y/n said.
A soft snore replied to her. She chuckled before getting up and walking out of the room to let the boy sleep. She met with Katherine in the hallway, the girl having just left Harrison’s room.
“Morning, babe”, Katherine said. “How was your night?”
“I slept”, Y/n replied, laughing at Katherine’s disappointed expression. “What? You really thought I was going to have sex with Tom?”
“Well, you two really seemed to have fun yesterday night…” Katherine trailed off.
“Doesn’t mean I was going to have sex with him!” Y/n pointed out.
“So you’re telling me you guys slept in the same bed and did nothing?” Katherine asked.
“Well, we just slept yeah”, Y/n answered.
“Oh well…” Katherine disappointedly let out as the two girls walked to the main room of the cottage.
They ate breakfast talking about the night before, Y/n asking questions about what had happened with Harrison and Katherine telling her all about it. During the day, the two girls stayed inside, not daring to face the cold outside. Y/n supposed that the boys went to play hockey or something because she didn’t see them during the day. At the end of the afternoon, Katherine and she decided to take a nap in their room and they woke up only when someone put the music on in the main room.
“I’ll go take a shower”, Y/n told Katherine before grabbing her bag. Katherine only groaned in response.
Y/n went in the bathroom that was connected to their room and she quickly took a shower. While she was under the hot stream of water, she shut her eyes and sighed deeply. She was still groggy with sleep and for a moment she wished she could go to bed instead of having to party all night but then she remembered that Tom was going to be there and she got excited. She quickly finished her shower and got dressed, choosing the cutest outfit she had brought and then putting on some make-up.
When she was done, she walked back to the bedroom. Katherine was sitting on the bed, scrolling through her phone. The girl raised her eyes from the screen.
“Oooh”, Katherine whistled. “Why did you dress so cute?”
“Uh, why not?” Y/n answered.
“Isn’t it for a certain boy?” Katherine teased.
Y/n rolled her eyes and did her best not to let a smile grow on her lips. “Mmh nah.”
“Knew it!” Katherine exclaimed.
“Kate, I swear!”
“Yeah, right.”
Y/n plopped down on the bed before taking her phone out of her pocket while Katherine went to take a shower. When Katherine came out of the bathroom, the two girls took a shot, much like they had did the day before and then joined Emma, Caroline and Alexa in the main room. The five girls partied together for a while, Y/n looking around the room for Tom but not finding him. She decided to have fun with her friends for the night. It’s not like something had happened with Tom anyway.
It’s only a couple of hours later, when the night was turning to an end, that Y/n saw him in the hallway leading to her and Katherine’s bedroom.
“Hey there”, Tom said as he leaned on the wall, visibly a little too drunk.
“Heyyy”, Y/n replied, a long silence following. Y/n scraped her throat. “How are things going?”
Tom chuckled. “Haz is an ass. Made me drink too much.”
“I’m sure you didn’t try to stop him”, Y/n teased.
“Oops!” Tom tried to hide his smile but it spread on his lips nonetheless.
There was another moment of silence, but then a girl walked by and stopped next to Tom. She had curly brown hair and her eyes were dark. More than that, she was extremely pretty. Like the kind of pretty you see on the cover of magazines and in the movies. The girl glanced at Y/n before resuming her attention on Tom. The two of them exchanged a long look before the girl said “What’s up?”
Tom smiled to her, his eyes turning soft. “Not much, I was just talking to Y/n.”
The girl didn’t even look at Y/n, whose eyes went to the floor as she started to feel uncomfortable.
“You should come, we’ll put ‘Shallow’ on”, the girl said and Tom’s eyes lit up.
“Down!” Tom replied joyfully before pushing himself from the wall and walking away.
The girl turned to look at Y/n. “Good night, Y/n”, she said, a gentle smile on her lips which was contrasting the ice in her eyes.
Y/n watched her walk away, her brows furrowed. She then shrugged and walked to her bedroom. Katherine was already there, snoring on the bed. Y/n grumbled before grabbing her PJs and changing into it. She lied down in bed, in the little space Katherine had left her and she thought about the little exchange she had had with Tom just moments earlier. Who was that girl? And why did she seem so jealous that Y/n and Tom had been talking?
Sleep didn’t come easily that night as Y/n turned in bed thinking of what had happened. She remembered how Tom had been happy to see the girl and she wondered if something was happening between the two of them. If that was the case, then why did Katherine want her to have sex with Tom?
Eventually, Y/n fell asleep, but she didn’t rest much that night. Katherine woke her up early the next morning when she went to the bathroom and Y/n couldn’t fall asleep again. Not that she was still thinking about Tom (even though she totally was) but she just couldn’t find sleep. She decided to get up, knowing that she would be able to sleep only when she would be back at her dorm on campus.
The cottage was silent so early in the morning and Y/n walked to the kitchen, where she made herself a cup of coffee. She then returned to the main room and sat in a comfy couch next to some large windows. Outside the trees were covered in snow as snowflakes fell endlessly and lazily from the sky. It looked so peaceful and Y/n sank back in the couch, enjoying the warmth of her coffee cup. At some point, three deer walked by, stopping to eat some grain the owner of the cottage had spread outside earlier. It looked like a scene taken straight from a fairy tale. Y/n took a sip of the coffee, the warmth spreading inside of her and a content smile grew on her lips.
“What are you doing up so early?” a male voice asked behind her.
Y/n jumped, almost spilling some coffee on her. Her head snapped around, a dishevelled Tom coming into view. He was wearing gray sweatpants with a white t-shirt and surprisingly enough he was pulling off the look.
“Kate woke me up and I couldn’t get back to sleep”, Y/n answered as Tom walked to the couch and sat beside her.
“Sucks”, Tom said. “Haz is snoring like the div he is.”
Y/n chuckled. “Maybe we should have slept together again.”
A cocky smirk grew on Tom’s lips. “Oh really.”
“Well, I mean, sleep together as in sleep in the same bed”, Y/n sputtered out as her cheeks turned red.
Tom pouted. “How disappointing.”
“You know you’re a dumbass?”
The boy laughed, the sound sending a shiver down Y/n’s spine. What was happening to her?
They settled into silence as both of them watched the deer eating outside. Y/n was slightly uncomfortable by the boy’s presence. She couldn’t stop thinking about the girl who had talked to Tom last night before she had gone to bed. Even though the sight of the snow and deer was the most peaceful thing she had witnessed in a while, Tom’s presence was sending her mind into overdrive and she couldn’t quite relax.
She glanced at him before resuming her attention on the world outside.
“So how do you like your first year in college?” Tom enquired.
“Exhausting”, Y/n admitted. “We’re just back from winter break and I’m already dead inside.”
“Tell me about it”, Tom laughed. “I’ve been tired ever since I set foot in America if I’m being honest.”
Y/n chuckled, shooting him a look. “How was England?”
Tom’s gaze found hers as he replied. “Was great. Still is, actually. I came here to study because of the reputation of the college. Plus, my dad did a year abroad here and totally wanted me to follow his path.”
“Nice! Your dad’s a doctor?” Y/n asked.
“Nah, he dropped out of college right after his year abroad to become a comedian”, Tom admitted.
Y/n cocked an eyebrow. “Then why would he want you to study here?”
“Said he found himself in America and he wanted me to find myself too, I guess.”
Y/n smiled. “That’s nice of him.” She paused. “Did you find yourself?” she asked, curiosity seeping into her words.
“I’ve been here for two years and a half so…” Tom trailed off.
Y/n watched him as silence fell between the two of them. “So?”
“Guess I haven’t”, Tom finally concluded, glancing at her.
“You still have plenty of time”, Y/n gently said as she noticed how he had gotten tensed.
Tom nodded. “Yeah, I’m not worried.”
Again, silence grew between the two of them as Y/n drank her coffee and the both of them watched the snow outside, the deer having left during their conversation. Soon enough, people started to get up, the cottage coming back to life and Y/n and Tom’s moment ending. Y/n would have liked to talk to him more, but the same girl she had seen the day before came and sat between Tom and her. Y/n stayed for a moment but she started to feel uncomfortable so she decided to leave them together. She would ask to Harrison what was up between the two when she would get the chance.
Y/n didn’t get the chance to talk to Harrison until a couple of days later. They were alone in one of the study rooms back in college, doing a lab report. Katherine had just left to go get a coffee. Even though Y/n wasn’t afraid to talk to Katherine about such things, she preferred talking to Harrison alone. She loved Kate with all of her heart but the girl had the tendency to talk a lot… which meant that sometimes she talked about some things Y/n had told her not to tell anyone.
Y/n looked at Harrison, who was currently listening to music as he was doing his part of the report.
“Haz?” Y/n said. The boy didn’t react. “Haz!” Y/n said louder. Again, the boy didn’t react. “Harrison!” Y/n yelled.
Harrison’s head shot up. “What?” he asked, taking off his headphones.
“Can I ask you something?” Y/n enquired.
“Yeah?” Harrison looked at her quizzically.
“You know last weekend?” Y/n began. Harrison nodded. “Uh… you know Tom?”
“Div, of course I know Tom”, Harrison chuckled. “What about him?”
“Does he have a girlfriend?” Y/n asked, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink.
Harrison laughed out loud. “Tom is single as can be.”
Y/n couldn’t help the smile spreading on her lips. “He is?”
“Yeah”, Harrison confirmed. “He’s talked about a girl in his year once or twice but yeah, he’s single.”
The hope in Y/n’s heart died down a little. “Oh, he did?”
“Yeah, you probably saw her at the cottage”, Harrison admitted. “Kinda tall, brown hair, brown eyes?”
“Rings a bell.”
“That’s what I thought.” The blue-eyed boy furrowed his brows as he noticed how Y/n’s face fell. “Wait, do you have a crush on Tom?”
“What? Me, having a… a crush on Tom?! You’re crazy, Osterfield”, Y/n stuttered.
A knowing smile grew on Harrison’s lips. “Why would you want to know if he had a girlfriend?”
“Mmmh, you know, we slept in the same bed, I wanted to know if that girl was his girlfriend and if she knew about it”, Y/n explained as her cheeks got darker the more she talked.
Harrison nodded his head. “I see. Well, if that can make you feel better, they’re really close but I don’t think something’s happening between them. Tom would have told me.”
Katherine walked in at that moment, holding two cups of coffee. “Sorry Y/n, I didn’t get you one.”
“Oh, no worries, I don’t drink coffee this late.”
“That’s what I thought”, Katherine said as she sat next to Harrison, giving him one of the coffees. “What were you guys talking about?”
There was a moment of silence and Y/n and Harrison exchanged a long look. Y/n was glad Harrison understood that she didn’t want to talk about it with Katherine because he said something about the project. Y/n’s heart started to beat again when Katherine nodded and went on to explain something that had happened while she had gone to get the coffee.
“I’ve gotta go pee”, Katherine said a while later. “Do you have to go?”
Y/n raised her head from her laptop. “Uh?”
“Do you need to go to the washroom?” Katherine repeated.
“Nah, I’m good”, Y/n reassured.
Katherine nodded and then got up and left. Y/n resumed her attention on her work but noticed Harrison staring at her.
“What?” she said.
“About Tom. If you’re into him, you need to know that he’s had it rough with his ex”, Harrison confided. “They broke up a couple of months ago but he’s not over it yet.”
“Got it”, Y/n nodded.
They continued working on the lab report for a while, Katherine coming back not so long after that. Around 9 pm, Katherine let out a shriek.
“What!” Y/n exclaimed as Harrison took off his headphones.
“Tomorrow’s morning class got cancelled!” Katherine explained. “We’re getting out of here.”
“What, really?” Y/n said as she took her phone from the table. She too saw the notification. “Oh my God, let’s go to the bar!”
Harrison’s eyes lit up. “This sounds like the best news I’ve heard in a long time.”
They shut their computers off, putting them in their backpacks before getting out of the library. On their way to the bar, they saw a group of girls also studying in medicine.
“Hey, are you guys going to karaoke night?” asked one of the girls (Julia, if Y/n had understood correctly).
“Actually, we are”, Katherine replied. “Our class got cancelled.”
Y/n watched as her friends talked with the three girls, feeling kind of out of place. She had never talked to those girls before so she didn’t really know what to say.
“Hey, Z is coming to join us”, one of the girls told Julia.
Harrison glanced at Y/n. They exchanged a look and Y/n furrowed her brows. What was that about?
They got to the bar about five minutes later. They found an empty table not so far from the scene where the karaoke would be held later that night. Y/n, Katherine and Harrison put their bags under the table, next to the wall and then moved towards the bar to get something to drink. They ordered a pitcher of beer.
“Hey guys, can you tell me how everybody’s called?” Y/n asked. “I don’t know those girls.”
Katherine laughed. “Sorry, I forgot.” She pointed towards the girl she was talking with outside. “That’s Julia. Next to her is Laura and the other girl is Liz.”
Y/n nodded. “I’ll probably forget the minute I’ll have drunk a beer but good.”
“And that’s Zendaya”, Harrison said, pointing towards the girl who had just walked in the bar.
Y/n’s heart stopped in her chest. It was the girl. The one Harrison had talked about earlier. Tom’s friend that seemed to be a little more than a friend. Y/n looked away when the girl glanced their way.
“You look like you’ve seen a ghost”, Katherine remarked.
Y/n looked at her. “Uh, nah, I’m good.” She grabbed the pitcher of beer and then they all walked back to the table.
“Hey guys!” Zendaya said. While the three friends had been getting their pitcher, she had had the time to sit at the table where the three other girls already were.
Katherine and Harrison sat in the booth next to Julia and Laura, which forced Y/n to sit next to Zendaya. Katherine poured three pints of beer and Y/n quickly took a sip. She had to get a little drunk or she was going to be uncomfortable next to Zendaya all night.
They drank and talked a while and eventually, Y/n realized that Zendaya was actually really nice. She kept asking questions about her, seemingly trying to get to know her more. Her smile was sweet and her laugh was genuine. Y/n guessed that she just had had a bad first impression of the girl because of the way she had looked at her when Tom had been there.
When that first pitcher of beer was finished, Y/n and Katherine went to the bathroom before grabbing another pitcher from the bar. As they made their way back to the table, Y/n’s heart skipped a beat. Tom was there, along with two guys and a girl Y/n didn’t know.
“Oh crap”, she said, stopping in her tracks.
“Tom!” Katherine exclaimed, running over to where the boy was standing.
“Hey love!” Tom replied, a smile spreading on his lips.
They hugged as Y/n walked up behind Katherine, holding onto the pitcher of beer for dear life.
“How are you doin’?” Tom asked Y/n once Katherine stepped aside. He had a goofy smile on his lips and Y/n couldn’t help but blush.
“I’m good!” she replied, her voice a little high-pitched. “You?”
Tom nodded, his grin replaced by a cocky smirk. “Better now that you’re here.”
Y/n chuckled, shaking her head. She then turned to look at Harrison but instead her gaze met Zendaya’s gaze. Y/n looked away, wondering if it was anger that she had seen in Zendaya’s eyes.
“Need help with that pitcher of yours?” Tom asked, unaware of what had just happened.
“Nope, all good”, Y/n said as she walked around Tom to sit beside Harrison.
Katherine furrowed her brows but took the empty place beside Zendaya. She didn’t dare asking a question as to why Y/n looked so uneasy right now. She instead shrugged her shoulder and pour a beer for Y/n, pushing it in front of her.
“Drink”, Katherine simply said and Y/n nodded, taking the beer and chugging it.
The exchange didn’t go unnoticed to Zendaya but she didn’t actually care. She resumed her attention on the conversation she was having with Liz.
The night went on, the karaoke starting a little while later as Y/n kept drinking probably a little more than she should have because of how uncomfortable she felt. Her eyes kept wandering to Tom and Zendaya, who were standing to the side now. Even though she was trying her best to stop looking at them, it was stronger than her. That’s when she noticed how Tom pressed a soft kiss on Zendaya’s forehead before walking away.
Y/n looked away as her heart skipped a painful beat. Harrison had been wrong. Something was happening between Tom and Zendaya. Y/n got up from the table, swaying a little because of the quantity of alcohol she had drunk. She held onto the table to steady herself as Katherine asked her what she was doing. Y/n didn’t reply as she stumbled away, moving towards what she hoped was the bathroom because if she didn’t make it there she was going to throw up on the floor.
Somehow, Y/n made it to the bathroom. Luckily for her, one of the stall was empty and she stumbled to it before kneeling in front of the toilet just in time to retch.
She threw up everything she had drunk in the last hours, including the nachos she had eaten with Katherine earlier. Her throat burned but she couldn’t stop.
“Easy there”, someone said behind her as they pulled her hair out of her face. “You’ll feel better once you’ll have finished.”
The voice was comforting and Y/n held on to it, trying to anchor herself back in the present instead of in the miasmas of the thrown-up beer and food. Slowly but surely Y/n found her way back to herself and she put her hands on the toilet seat to push herself up.
Tears were rolling down her cheeks and she was trembling but still she could manage to see through her tear-filled gaze that Zendaya was the one helping her.
“Goddamn it”, Y/n muttered as she sat down, her back against the stall wall.
Zendaya chuckled before moving towards the sink and coming back with a paper towel. “There, wipe your mouth with that.”
Y/n nodded, taking it and wiping her mouth. She shut her eyes, resting her head on the wall. “I didn’t even drink that much.”
“Yeah, right”, Zendaya laughed. “That’s what we all say.”
A small smile spread on Y/n’s lips and she shook her head. “I mean, I didn’t drink as much as I usually do and I still threw up.”
Zendaya nodded. “It happens. Don’t worry though, you’ll be just fine.”
“I know.” There was a moment of silence before Y/n spoke again. “I should get back to my dorm.”
“Need help getting there?” Zendaya enquired.
“Uh, I’ll ask Kate”, Y/n replied.
Someone walked in the bathroom and Zendaya turned to look at them. They moved into the stall next to Y/n’s and Y/n wondered when the other person had left.
Y/n sighed deeply before putting her hands flat on the floor next to her. She pushed herself up, her breath catching in her throat when a wave of nausea hit her again. She shut her eyes and waited for it to pass before moving again.
“All good?” Zendaya asked.
Y/n nodded, not finding the strength to talk. They walked back to their table, which was now pretty much empty. Only Tom and the people who had come with him were still there. Y/n’s heart sank when she understood that Katherine had left with Harrison, not even bothering to make sure Y/n was fine.
Zendaya sat next to Tom before looking all around. “Uh, Y/n, I think Kate has left.”
“Yeah, noticed”, Y/n sighed. “I’ll still go. Thanks for everything.”
Y/n grabbed her backpack and then started walking to the door, breathing in as the nausea resumed. That walk was going to be a long one.
“Hey, I can walk you home”, Tom offered, making Y/n jump as he put a hand on her shoulder.
Y/n stared at him for a moment, her mind in a haze.
“Okay, I’ll take that as a ‘thank you, I needed it’”, Tom laughed before moving toward the door.
Y/n didn’t move and instead looked over her shoulder. Zendaya was looking her way and she smiled to her before turning to talk to the guy in front of her.
“Are you coming?” Tom asked.
He had reached the door and Y/n still hadn’t moved. “Uh, yeah, I am”, Y/n reassured him. She finally started walking and Tom’s smile found its way back on his lips.
Y/n’s cheeks turned a light shade of pink as Tom held the door open for her. She stepped outside and took a deep breath. The cold air calmed her nausea and she could finally walk without feeling like she was about to tumble down any minute now. Although the concrete sidewalk was icy, which was a risk in itself even for someone sober.
“I don’t live in the dorms so you’ll have to show me the way”, Tom told her.
Y/n furrowed her brows. “Where do you live?”
Tom chuckled. “Haz and I have a flat… sorry an apartment not so far from here”, Tom explained. “Well, I mean, it’s literally over there.”
He pointed in said direction and Y/n squinted her eyes. Tom laughed at her expression.
“You look live a div”, he said.
Y/n glanced at him. “You’re the div who’s pointing somewhere to a drunk girl as if I’m going to know where you’re pointing.”
“Oh, so you’re that drunk?” Tom asked. “Weak.”
Y/n giggled, pushing him. “You’re weak.”
There was a moment of silence as they continued walking towards the dorm and Y/n looked up to the sky only to see stars dancing in a pool of pitch black ink..
“Oof, I’ll keep my eyes on the road or else I’m gonna get dizzy”, she admitted and Tom chuckled.
“Please do, I wouldn’t want to see you throwing up”, he said.
“Such a gentleman, not even offering his help for the damsel in distress”, Y/n shook her head.
“You’re not even in distress”, Tom pointed out.
“And you’re not a gentleman”, Y/n concluded, a smile spreading on her lips at her victory.
“Yet I’m walking you home”, Tom said.
Y/n shrugged her shoulders, not wanting to admit that Tom had won. Tom chuckled and glanced at her profile.
“Don’t wanna admit that I’m a gentleman uh?” he asked.
Y/n shot him a look as her cheeks burned. “Nah.” She paused and then glanced at Tom again, whose eyes were already on her. “Okay, maybe you are.”
A soft smile spread on Tom’s lips, the only proof that he was having an inner celebration about his victory over her.
Y/n looked away, suddenly very aware that she was walking alone with Tom and that he was looking at her in a way that was sending shivers down her spine.
They got to the dorms a little while later. They stopped in front of the door as Y/n fumbled in her backpack for her keys.
“They must be in there somewhere”, she mumbled as she pushed her laptop to the side to see the bottom of the pack. “Oh, there they are!”
She reached down and took them before unlocking the door.
“Thanks for walking me home”, Y/n said as she opened the door.
Tom was standing a couple of steps behind and he smiled to her. “My pleasure, love.”
Y/n’s heart skipped a beat as she just looked at him, standing there with that sweet smile on his lips.
“Text me when you get home safe”, she finally said, a light blush creeping on her cheeks.
She turned around to walk in but Tom called her.
“Y/n!” he said and she turned back around. “Good night.”
Warmth spread in Y/n’s chest as she wished him a good night too before finally walking in the dorms.
I N F O R M A T I O N
harlow’s mother was twenty-one years old and in college when she had her, which means that for the first few years of her life, harlow was raised by her grandparents in their seaside motel in maine. then, her mother took over for them with the motel, eventually got re-married, and had more kids with a man harlow grew to respect and see as a father figure, even though he was quite absent due to his work. in fact, both he and harlow’s mother were very busy people, and harlow ended up being the one to take care of her siblings, which means that she had to grow up quite young.
still, though she took care of her siblings and couldn’t do regular things like going trick or treating with her friends, she was quite popular with kids her age, and always had a lot of friends. she also made a lot of friends from canada and other places in the states when they came to visit ogunquit in the summer, and therefore has quite a couple of pen text pals.
harlow loved growing up by the seaside. she loves the sea, the ocean, and spent most of her free time at the beach, even when it was filled with tourists. she could support really cold water, too, never got wrinkled from staying too long in the water, and could hold her breath underwater for longer than her friends could. she loved the sound of the waves, the smell of the sea, and the feeling of sand between her fingers.
she went horseback riding a few times with one of her best friends growing up, and though harlow usually sucked with animals, she was naturally gifted with horses. she loved it a lot, and though she doesn’t go horseback riding as often anymore, she still shares a special bond with horses.
one day when she was ten, harlow got attacked by stymphalian birds, which didn’t help her hatred for pigeons, and was helped by an older camper, who then brought her to camp. harlow adjusted to camp quite quickly, which made sense considering how social she’d always been.
she’s a quite active person, not necessarily as in sports and stuff - though she does love hockey - but just... doing stuff in general. she acts before she thinks like a typical aries, and is always up for doing something new. she loves experimenting, and finding out about new things. she’s a naturally curious person who’s always down for adventure.
is, um, not very good at school? like, at all. i mean, yeah, there’s the adhd, but mostly she just....... does not care whatsoever about it. her goal in life is to become the first woman to be a regular referee in the nhl (national hockey league).
is fluent in french because a lot of the tourists that came down to ogunquit every summer were french-canadian, and her mother insisted her children be able to communicate with them. and as harlow is quite social and loves making new friends, she didn’t mind it at all.
DRUGS TW. is a stoner but keeps it lowkey because she doesn’t want to be one of those people who talk about weed 24/7 but like........ she loves weed, okay.
also loves wine and grappa a lot. hates rhum.
