“It’s really no trouble,” Wyll is saying, his hands firmly on the handles of the pot.

“No, no, you’ve worked so hard today,” Gale counters, tone almost pleading, grabbing the lip, white-knuckled.

“You’ve worked so hard today,” Wyll counters, “and you were injured-”

He is realizing, distantly, that this is ridiculous. He can’t take the credit for that realization, unfortunately, that accolade has to be granted to Astarion and Maj, and really, mostly to Maj. Astarion was really doing a very good job of keeping a straight face as he watched Wyll and Gale argue, only the glint in his eye betraying that he was even paying attention at all. Maj, however, is laughing. Not a little chuckle or fond giggle, full scale shoulders shaking tears streaming down her face hysterics, and clocking that (he was always on the lookout for signs of distress) had finally made Wyll take a full inventory of the position he’s in.

He is standing with his feet apart, toes turned in to improve his balance, braced on the ground. His hands are on the handles of the pot. And Gale is no longer just trying to sneak it out of his hands- Gale is leaning backwards pulling on it to the degree that Wyll is certain if he let go Gale would go flying, the pot after him, on a collision course with his face.

For a second, he’s tempted to. It would serve Gale right, being so obstinate, and it would make Maj laugh, and heaven knows they all needed a laugh after everything they’ve been through. But Gale had been injured today, and Shadowheart had barely patched him up, and if Wyll was the cause of his wounds reopening...well. He would actually feel rather bad about it.

He tries to shift forwards, to releasing some of the force on the pot without letting it go, seeing if he can trick Gale into steadying himself, and it seems to work, Gale shuffling in place to get his feet underneath him, even as he’s continuing to give some impassioned defense Wyll was absolutely not listening to.

“—Really, cooking is the least I can offer the camp, you’ve saved my hide, you’ve saved everyone’s hide, you’re the blade of the frontiers, hero of the sword coast, you’re really very impressive—”

Wyll squints at him, and Gale cuts off, like he’s just now hearing himself, but he gives Wyll a wide confident grin. The silence extends as Wyll tries to figure out what the hell to say to that, and then Maj takes pity on them.

“Is there some kind of warlock-wizard feud I'm unaware of where you can’t share a pot?” She says. “I know what ingredients we have, it’s going to be stew again.”

Wyll considers that. He was going to make stew.

“I have yeast,” Gale counters, almost sulky. “I was going to make bread.”

“Great!” Maj chirps, “that’ll go well with the stew.”

Gale looks at him, He looks at Gale. Gale grins, a little sheepish, and lets go of the pot.

Wyll snorts, and then something clicks. Gale had spent an undue amount of time checking over the kitchens and cabinets in abandoned homes. He must have finally found what he was looking for.

“—I do miss good bread,” he offers, and Gale lights up.

“As do I. I should have known you’d understand, I know it doesn’t travel well but the crumb of—”

As Wyll listens to him ramble, he starts to quietly build a meal plan in his head. Maybe he could share the cooking responsibilities. Since it made Gale happy. And, well. A happy wizard was an effective wizard. That’s definitely the only reason.

He can hear Astarion and Maj whispering, and turns his back on them as he hears the clink of gold and a bet being taken.

He doesn’t want to know. He has stew to make.

they were so excited to hear that they were getting another manager

cuz Lord knows that poor Kiyosce needed some help

especially with Mad dog and Oikawa on one team (even tho Iwa helped some)

you met them for the first time at one of their practices a couple days from a training camp they were going to

you ran a bit late (oops) and when you entered the gym everyone was already warming up and serving

you also happened to walk in right when Oikawa did his oh so famous jump serve

and it was as powerful as Kiyosce described it

God i would not want to receive that

you walked up to the bench and placed your backpack down which contained your homework for the day

you already caught Kindaichi's eye who was whispering something to Watari

"Hey! Come to the bench guys!" Kiyosce yelled and the boys started to gather the balls into the cart

you had already received your manager shirt and you were standing beside Kiyosce fiddling with the zipper

after the team huddled around, he spoke up

"As you can see, we have a new addition to the Seijoh Volleyball club." he motioned toward you "This is y/n l/n, and she'll be managing you children with me."

"Children? You both are our age, maybe younger." said Matsukawa

"Still, you act like 5 year olds."

"No, that's all Shittykawa." Iwaizumi gave Oikawa a side glance

"Iwa-chan, that's no way to introduce me!" he said, sipping his water

"Anyway, be nice to her." Kiyosce rolled his eyes. "Go keep serving for a few more minutes."

Half of the team scattered and Matsukawa approached you first.

you didn't even realize most of them stopped serving to watch what you were gonna do

when you landed, everyone just kinda looked at you

you stood there thinking, they probably thought that was nothing compared to Iwaizumi or Matsukawa... or Mad dog

then you heard clapping

you looked to see Oikawa smiling and clapping and others soon joined

"That was really good!"

"How'd you do that?"

"Have you played before?"

you started to blush and thanked everyone for being so nice

you made your way back to the bench where Kiyosce prepared a clipboard for you

practice went on as normal and everyone gathered at the end and then were dismissed

"That was pretty impressive, your skills aren't bad." He was half smirking and Iwa rolled his eyes behind him

you were ready for him to ask you for your friend's number or to set him up with your friend

A/n : I know it's been months since I wrote but for some reason i got tired of writing and then school came and my exams started and just on Sunday I finished and I wanted to write something about supernatural. It might be not accurate English is not my first language and this might be rusted because it's been a long time since I watched supernatural so I wrote this based on what I remember

You were sitting in your room teaching jack about hunting and how to do research—(or as Dean calles it homework) you were in the middle of explaining on how to spot a wraith and how to kill it when castiel suddenly appeared in your room “Cass?? Hey- what's up?” jack asked him using the new expression you taught him “the roof of the room that's what is up” he answered jack with a slightly furrowed eyebrows, you began to explain “I didn't mean it like that- it's an expression when you—” before you could finish you heard a sound— maybe a meow?? “cas what do you have in your coat???” you asked him “something” he said while hugging the bump in his coat tighter "I was wondering if you would know what dean or Sam would do if they found there was an animal in here??” he asked “dean hates animals because of what they could do to baby and Sam doesn't mind dogs but I don't know about cats tho- cas do you have a cat in there??” you asked interrupting yourself "I may or may have not saved a cat that was in the rain” castiel says looking at his trench coat where the cat is “can i see it?” jack asks while getting up walking towards castiel. He gets the cat out if his coat and showed to him. It is an orange big fluffy cat “it's fur is so soft" jack says while rubbing behind its ears “can we keep it?” jack asks you “if you wanna keep it then don't show it to Dean otherwise he will kick us out and also sam” you say with a shrug trying to resist petting it so you won't get attached— "let's call him garfield! After the cat character from that cartoon” says Jack with an adorable smile “you two are gonna be the death of me one day, I swear” you mumble, sighing.

First time :

It has been three months and somehow you didn't get caught, so today the boys left you and jack alone. You were sick somehow and they couldn't take you and jack wanted to stay for you and garfield.

You were sitting watching scooby do (as demanded quested by dean) with Jack while you were having soup, garfield was laying in Jack's lap. After a while Sam called, you picked up and put it on speaker “hey Sam!"you and jack said together “hey-how are you two doing? How are you feeling??” he asked “I'm fine and we are watching scooby do, you have dean to blame for that one” you mumbled the last bit under you breath and then coughed “well don't stay up stay up too lo—” *meow*....... "what was—" "OK BYE!” you hung up the phone and then to turn to jack with wide eyes "maybe he won't ask about it later???" jack tried to save the situation "jack.. I love you but if he tells dean we will be dead" you said to in a serious tone.. "Hey, everything alright?” dean asked Sam "yea yea, everything is fine" Sam answered "then why the hell were you staring at your phone for the past 20 minutes???" "no reason i was just thinking about something in the case"

Second time :

This time it was Dean who almost caught you three. You were out with Sam, so cas and jack were with Dean. Great. The oblivious angel of the lord and their his son who might me just as uuuh- gullible? you were hoping that they won't fuck this over.

"Hey Jack, where the hell is Cas?? I haven't seen him all day" dean asked the boy "I think he is at the store" jack answered absent-minded "really? I didn't see him leave with them" "Oh- well he went to—" jack stopped after he realized what was he about to say "—to buy you pie because y/n called him and said they couldn't find any pies?” jack tried to come up with an excuse "really?" dean said with that famous grin of his "yes!" jack said with a bright smile then—*meowww* "is there a cat in here?? How the hell did it get on here?!" dean said with an angry but surprised voice "its—uhhh- my phone! Yes it's my phone" jack said while jumped in front dean "your phone??" dean asked skeptically "yes! I asked y/n to change the ringtone to cat noises" and luckily enough a you called him and saved him

Later on you asked castiel to buy the pie instead of Sam

Sam and Dean had their suspicions about the three of you. Why are you all sneaking around?? Do you all have some sort of inside jokes about them?? And it's weird especially from Cas since he tells Dean almost everything. And now... Cas and jack disappeared into your room. Maybe has disappeared and you and— "what do you think is happening, dean??" Sam said interrupting the dean's train of thought "I don't know man, it's just so weird. Not to mention the way they were acting.” the dean told sam" and the meowing. I think y/n said it was because they—” “wait wait wait- meowing noises??” dean interrupts "yea?— oh oh” "you figured it out?” “Cas like cats, Jack like cats and y/n is neutral about animals which means...” sam says waiting for Dean “they have a cat without us knowing," then dean says with a look that says 'I'm done with everything' "I swear to chuck if they got that hairy monster in my car I will personally murder them" "sure whatever you say let's go" they get up and go to your room and just opened the door "really?" Sam says after seeing Jack and Cas playing a ginger cat and you filming it "I can't believe you three!! You hid this and didn't say anything about it. And YOU!-” he points at you" I EXPECTED BETTER THAN YOU ESPECIALLY AFTER—!” you interrupted Dean "I did not let the cat into your car and if you let us keep him in my room I will buy you pies with MY money and Sam.. His name is Garfield”....... You five are quiet for a few seconds "deal" dean said, Sam looked at him inridiculously and left... "can I play with him?“ “yea.. Sure " Sam came over and Garfield kept rubbing on Sam's hand. I guess cats love big giants

(I'm so fuckin mad about what was supposed to be his big fight when the coup happened)

Anyways anytime I read a fic of Raian x reader it's always the same-ish thing of the reader not fully loving the sheer brutality that Raian is

I can't be the only one that gets excited seeing him covered in blood! Like dawg if I saw him all nice n bloody like that with a sexy smile comin at me all nonchalant

Like "Hey baby~ did you like the bloodbath?" I'm jumping on him and making out right then n there..

I wanna be covered in the same blood ya feel me? (That's TMI probably..)

It's probably bc I'm a fan of gore or something but like you gotta understand that killing is not only his job ITS HIS PASSION

And him being an asshole is also part of it, sure you can try n convince him to not FULLY kill someone but honestly I'd say you have a 1% chance of succeeding...

It'd have to be a solid good reason tho

Not just cuz your his partner...

Even so! Odds are the person he's messing with is a stranger to you 😭 (if your not into him killing random ppl then maybe not be in a relationship with him)

THE WAY HE INTERACTS W PEOPLE IN HIS CAT FORM IS HYSTERICAL. anyways as a character i rlly rlly like him because of how much he. cares about jiwoo like that's LITERALLY his son that's his little boy the found families in eleceed have me sobbing all day theyre so important to me. i also like him because of HOW STRONG HE IS?? 2. ijin from teenage mercenary/mercenary enrollment !!!! this one is my fav webtoon of all time 💓💓 i adore ijin because like...even after all he's been through and how grim and immovable his life has made him, he's still so so gentle with his grandfather and little sister. he loves his family so so much and it makes me ILL. speaking of his family i adore just how many families he HAS like he has the numbers, major kang and all them (his relationship w them has me absolutely dead on the floor the amount of rants ive gone on abt them is frankly worrying), dusik cha n his right hand man, and ofc his grandpa and dayeon!! he's so caring that he creates such strong bonds with so many people and they become irreplaceable in his heart and he would do absolutely anything to protect them. he puts the people he sees as family over EVERYTHING in his life and once a person has become part of his fam he becomes super protective of them <3 an example of that is once he knew that jiyeh was engaged to major kang, who was the first person to really help him understand what family means, he immediately added her to the ppl to be protected and went super far to protect her when she got kidnapped because he knows she's special to major kang!! someone in the comments said "his in-law!!" and that had me sobbing on the floor bc he got so excited and felt like he had to be cool in front of her AUGHH. he's such a sweetheart while also being an incredible and badass fighter and that combo is my fav kind of character 🫶🫶

Yunho's lips quirk upwards in a smug grin as he glances to see Yeosang practically fuming beside you. "I'll see you tonight, then."

You hardly get a chance to wave goodbye to your lab partner when Yeosang is wrapping an arm around your shoulder and practically dragging you away.

Yunho watches on with a narrowed gaze, absolutely hating the way that bastard's arm is casually slung around you like that. That should be him. The smug look Yeosang throws back over his shoulder makes the taller male see red.

Sure, Ywosang might have known you for longer, but Yunho knows that he's the better option for you. It's been how many years and that bastard still hasn't made any moves? Or maybe he has, you just haven't accepted them.

That fact makes Yunho smirk. You may be walking away wrapped in Yeosang's arms today, but tonight? Tonight you'll be his.

Woof, this is honestly a pretty hard question, since I can't really name any horror (or otherwise) media that actually left me kind of fucked up for a bit, at least not to the degree where it affected me for a while. I probably haven't been really fucked up by anything since I was a kid, so I'll try and recall what a few things fucked me up back then...

Off the top of my head I know that two different spongebob episodes got me bad, the first being one with that tunnel of love thing (tho tbh i havent seen it in a while so it might still spook me today) and the one where i'm pretty sure for whatever reason squidward gets locked in some small locker and has some kind of fucked up dream, whatever that was. I remember there was an eagle in that one. the eagle terrified me. (i looked them up, and the first episode is titled 'tunnel of glove' and the second is 'squidward in clarinetland'. with how badly that second one got to me, i'm surprised i ended up learning to play the clarinet at all)

other than that, i think the courage the cowardly dog episode 'the house of discontent' got me pretty bad, too, but i think everyone who saw any amount of that series as a kid has at least one episode that got them fucked up.

there's probably a handful of scooby-doo stuff that got to me when i was a kid, but i could not name any specifics (asides from charlie the robot's original episode, christ) because i think i managed to see just about every bit of available scooby media around that time.

nowadays stuff still does kinda fuck me up, but it's usually only for brief bits of time. the most recent example I can think of is cowboy bebop's 20's episode, pierrot le fou, which is honestly some great horror, especially how it uses the show's typical format and flips it on it's head, but i wouldn't necessarily say it got to me because of it being scary, more because of the way the ending disturbed me for a bit. it was the only episode that had me stop afterwards and really look into it for anything other than clarifying a character's gender, lol.

the endings of both neon genesis evangelion and end of evangelion had me shaken, the latter more so than the former, but not really due to horror aspects, though. i did have to take a walk after finishing end of evangelion. i don't really watch horror movies, i just... read the wikipedia plot descriptions of them.

honestly, i think some of the more popular youtube analogue horror series have gotten to me worse (likely due to the fact that they can get a bit more fucked up than, say, a tv show or movie), specifically the walten files (which i did watch) and the mandela catalogue (which i just watched wendigoon's vids on), and those two and mostly because facial distortion is generally just an incredibly effective form of horror imo. a lot of the time (esp with the childhood examples) the way i was 'fucked up' was that id be in be visualizing the stuff that scared me, and both the mandela catalogue and the walten files had me doing that for a bit.

now that i remember it, i was really scared of fnaf when it first came out. i first learned of it second-hand from seeing some other kids looking into it, and the bits and pieces i put together about it really scared me.

honestly, it's usually straight-up disturbing sequences or imagery that gets to me the most, and i know my limits well enough to generally identify and avoid that stuff, which is probably why i don't have too many recent examples. i've got one or two examples of non-horror movies that fucked me up as a kid, but that's mostly because they were wildly inappropriate for someone of my age (at the time) to be witnessing, so that's a different sort of topic.

i mean, i think i generally have a decent tolerance for fucked up stuff in media, anyways, i mean, i enjoy berserk and haven't really been too upset or disturbed by what happens in it (look theres some nasty shit in there im not saying its not that bad) so there's definitionally some kind of line that media needs to cross to really get to me nowadays, or it just needs to be a specific kind of fucked up. books generally don't do that for me so i don't have any book examples. no games, either, though shadow mario and the haunted house segments in super mario 3d world scared me so much that i had to make my mom do the levels for me, and i'm pretty sure scooby doo: first frights scared me a bit when i first played it on ds.

other than that, though, I just think that, in pokemon x, the story that an npc tells you during your first trip to route 14 and then the strange office building encounter with the animation-less hex maniac creeped me out pretty bad.

yeah, it's kind of hard for me to think of anything (recent) that actually really fucked me up or anything. most stuff just scared me, never really fucked me up or figuratively traumatized me in recent years.

time has always been my one of favorite fellas of y’all’s and i already adore silas so damn much. you can’t just write abt a man who loves his wife and daughter more than anything and expect me to not adore him. what do you mean he carries a pocket watch with a picture of them inside. what do you mean he made fariah a crib. what do you mean (also i love that it’s a pocket watch that he has, a wonderful little homage to his hero title)

It ended up not being a huge thing in the grand scheme of things and I'm chill about it now but like.... The parallels that y'all don't know about for mainline yet... We were very proud of them.

HONESTLY (at least for me) the pocket watch was an unintentional nod to his hero title, I was thinking more along the lines of FMA and the shit u see from like WWII of soldiers with a little photograph in their watch so they can keep it on them. If that was intentional on Mizu's part lmao go her. It's so funny how readers pick out symbolism that the authors don't intend, but it's there and it works anyway! Just like how if you think about plot points long enough they string themselves together...

Hi I've been seeing you talk abt it a lot and it's piqued my interest- what's Caligula effect?

Oh hey i'm glad i picked your interest. Caligula Effect is a videogame from 2016 that got a remake in 2018 Caligula Effect Overdose, this is the one you should go with as is the most complete. I got interested in it because Takuya Yamanaka, the writer in Milgram directed the game, Deco27 also worked as one of the composers for the game, which i think is how they met. There's also a second game Caligula Effect 2 which Yamanaka was more involved with as he was diector, producer and main writer of the game.

As for the plot of the game, it's about this virtual world called Mobius where people can go to escape the real world. In this world everyone becomes a high school student and doesn't age, and all their wishes become reality (well kind of). This world was created by a virtuadoll (basically just a vocaloid) called µ (basically this world's hatsune miku) who made this place to help people who were hurt by the real world. There's this group of students who call themseleves the Go-Home Club who realized this world is fake and want to find a way to go back to the real world. On the opposite side there's also the Ostinato Musicians, a group of people who work with µ in order to stop the Go-Home Club because they don't want anyone to escape.

You as the main character start the game with the club but can join the musicians later as well, then the game will have segments where you play as the president of the club or as a musician and you can have all those characters as party members and get to know the characters through their Character Scenarios, which are basically like the social links from Persona but a little less complicated. These scenarios also have a lot of influence on each other and even the main story in the case of two characters.

I haven't finished the playthrough i'm watching yet but i do like it so far, though it does start very slow imo i didn't really get that invested until the fourth dungeon. I will say though the game discusses heavy topics, but i do want to mention two things that can definetely stop someone from enjoying the game. First, there is a canon trans character as part of the musicians, and i think the way she's treated in the main story is not...very good? First off because the way you find out she is trans is because she's outed by someone from the main party during her dungeon, and after this many of the characters misgender her and make transphobic comments about her (even WAY after her dungeon's done), which i do think at least during her dungeon this was intentional in order to portray her hardships (because honestly these characters can be REAL assholes), but then they make jokes about her and even among the musicians she is STILL treated badly by the others and it's just tiring, especially because her character scenario IS genuinely really good and actually addresses many of these things that the main story does but you don't really get to see these things being properly talked about in the main story. I haven't finished the game tho and i think there's a few things later that will more properly address this aspect of her but it can be very uncomfortable. Second thing is that one of the musicians is...a creep, his name is a pun on the pronunciation of the word "stalk" and his dungeon is a public bathhouse. I think you can get where i'm going with this this. His whole thing is that he's a pervert and likes to peep on other women and you see him doing this multiple times during his dungeon. Anyways, as with all the musicians you can interact with him after his dungeon and do his scenario and all that, which i hate because he's still the same afterwards, i already didn't like him when he was first introduced, i thought hey maybe his scenario will show me something interesting, haha no learning more about him and how he was in the real world made me hate him even more. Even if some of the things discussed in his scenario were interesting i don't care, he's gross and creepy and he should be in jail like ayana said. Both of these characters are the bosses in the second and third dungeon, which is why i said the beggining can be hard to get into.

Aside from that, the soundtrack is awesome, and i do like most of the characters, i haven't finished it yet so obviously i still don't know how everything will end but i have been enjoying it. Hey beacon long time no see!

I have a confession to make: Even tho I've followed you for ages I've avoided your hermitcraft propaganda posts so hard. NOT BECAUSE I DIDN'T LIKE THE HERMITS THO!! It's because I knew I wouldn't have the time to watch more than 1-2 povs (when I know I'll want to watch way more) or to catch up on previous seasons because I was already involved in watching dsmp streams and all their videos.

And then my interests in the dsmp start drifting and by May I've started binging some animes and mangas my friend was recommending me and I'm about halfway out of mcyt at that point

BUT THEN I start seeing double life fanart appear on my dash, and I realize there's a new life saga series (Does. Does anyone know what to call it? I know it's trafficblr but like. life saga makes the most sense right? It's what I'm calling it anyways). And I'm like "oooooo, third and last life were fun, I should watch the first episode of this!" (I came last to the party for the previous series so I really wanted to be on time for this one)

And so I watch Grian's first episode because he's the hermit I'm most familiar with and. it's so fun. It's got me hook, line, and sinker. I remember how much of a blast is it to watch Grian, I have to watch more.

So I binge Grian's season 8, then catch up on season 9; I realize I'm having such a great time every time Scar's on screen, so I binge his season 9 and am about to finish binging his season 8- and beacon. I'm ASHAMED I didn't find Scar sooner. I almost had a cow seeing he only had 1.8 million subs when I was subbing to him because WHAT. I've banned myself from eating or drinking while watching his videos because I've almost spat on my laptop multiple times from laughing. His kindness and positivity and wise words have made me emotional too many times to count, and reminds me how much being kind is worth it. I would literally fistfight gods on a sea of broken glass for Scar- Alright I have to shut myself up or I'll write a college thesis about that man.

I still haven't read those propaganda posts btw lmao. But I do want you to know I've been kidnapped into being a hermitcraft fan and I'm so happy about it (I was literally kidnapped against my will tho I swear; I was trying to get into a manga SO BAD but then my brain saw double life and said "mmmm, these minecraft men. I want more of these guys, screw everything else" and then I completely forgot about any other interests alskdgh)

and i agree, scar is criminally underrated/under-subscribed; i remember watching him hit 1M subs and just being So Happy for him. i need that man to hit 2M subs immediately, he's at 1.92M now. (honestly a lot of the hermits are just under-subscribed i've watched so many of them hit 1M subscribers since the end of season 6 and i am so happy for all of them)

i don't know if i could pick one hermit as a favorite bc i follow pretty much all of them; i watch them based on like the ~vibes~ i'm feeling that day. bdubs almost never fails to bring a smile to my face tho and he interacts with so many hermits so if you haven't checked him out already, you should.

When it comes to getting started, there are some things you can do:

Open the inbox for requests/brain rots.

Post some drabbles/brain rots/fics of your own.

Reblog/interact with other writers if you’d like to find mutuals with similar interests.

Post your fandom list/what you will and won’t write for as well as rules/dni/byf so that visitors to your blog will know what to do before sending asks/interacting.

Make an introduction post to introduce yourself and your blog.

When it comes to writing dark content/horror/yandere:

Write only what you’re comfortable writing.

Use and tag the appropriate content/trigger warnings.

With any type of request, whether or not it’s dark content, you are always allowed to decline writing it for your own reasons.

If you want to create a certain atmosphere or evoke a feeling of fear/dread/tension/etc. listen to music or instrumentals that have similar vibes of what you’re writing about.

If writing and listening to music isn’t something you prefer to do, you can always watch or read something unsettling/tense/frightening beforehand and channel those feelings into your writing.

Utilize prompt generators and the like if you need inspiration or would like practice writing for specific horror elements.

Always be proud of your work! In most cases, you are your greatest critic. If you feel you’re doubting a piece of writing, you can always find beta readers who will be willing to read it and give helpful feedback.

With dark content, it’s important to remember: an author’s writing does not equal their real opinion/views. Just because someone writes about yandere does not mean they would support it in real life. It’s crucial to be able to differentiate fiction and reality when reading any type of fanfic, but this is especially true for dark content.

Bad Dog Bites and Original Bad Dog Bites!

oooooo baby okay okay SO STRAP IN FOR A LONG EXPLANATION HAHA I'll put it under a read-more bc I KINDA WENT BUCKWILD WITH THIS EXPLANATION I'M SORRY JUBES

To preface, I actually lied when I replied to your post first - in fact SIX of those fics are crossovers between the two Personas that I've played (4 and 5) lmfao and that includes both versions of BDB :)

Originally, the fic was supposed to take place immediately after Royal, and Akechi's alive and contacted by Sae bc my theory is that it was her officers that was escorting him back to somewhere when you catch a glimpse of him at the very end of the game through the train window. The idea was that, now that she's transitioning to being a defense lawyer, Sae's noticing a lot more of an uptick in corruption through the government, and especially noticing shit to do with the shadow world, whether that be Metaverse or otherwise. So she's bringing in the guy who's in hiding and who she can like use some leverage over (seeing as the Phantom Thieves are supposed to be disbanded now and they're going their separate ways so she can't just employ them for this) and who also has Persona powers, and ask him to help her deal with this. But she also knows that the shadow world is dangerous to deal with on its own... and I know that the government has records of Naoto having Persona powers (thank you beginning of P4 Arena lmfao - I haven't finished watching the playthrough that I found of that one tho bc I realised that P4A has so many spoilers for P3 and I don't want that yet soooo I'll just have to wait until after I play P3 to finish that vid haha), so to help him, she calls in the first Detective Prince.

The goofs and gaffs were gonna come from the fact that, if they met in canon (PQ2 doesn't count in this situation bc I haven't played it yet LMAO), they would immediately hate each other hsgfh and then they'd slowly grow to trust each other in combat, even if they do absolutely hate each other, and it would come to a head when they get surrounded, probably in the TV World bc they're gonna be bouncing back and forth between each other's worlds (and the P3 shadow world - Tartarus? - but I first gotta play that game first *squeezes my hands into fists* so) and are forced to perform a Showtime where, since both of them and their Personas can learn Megidolaon, they basically do this little theatrical show of 'hey I can do things better than you watch!' and then annihilate the surroundings and the shadows by using that move at once together. And then after that they would have to deal with the fact that hey, the other one actually is willing to work with me and keep the both of us from getting killed... huh....

I thought it was a cool idea, though like the majority of the plot is wholly obscured to me bc I didn't really have an end goal besides making Akechi eventually go back to Leblanc and see the P5 protag again, though maybe it could be something similar to P5 where they take down a major political figure? or like the lead scientist trying to use the shadows for their own evil will or something, and I also didn't have most of the middle stuff ready, just like key scenes that I'd dreamt up and stuff haha

But then the second version, which is the one just titled Bad Dog Bites now, has some different stuff going on - this time, it's 4 years after the end of P5, so Akechi's been in hiding for a while after having survived back then, and he's probably doing something but he's really secretive and on the dl about it. He doesn't want to be found by the authorities so he changes address and phone number constantly, I've written him relatively ooc rn but I'm working on fixing that lmfao, he's got some shit to deal with and he definitely doesn't want to be found by the former Phantom Thieves.

The idea is the fic opens up in Akechi's current apartment, and he's doing something at his desk that the audience isn't allowed to fully know about yet, when someone knocks on his door. He's obviously suspicious, and when he goes to peek through his peep hole and then after crack the door with the chain in, Naoto is there, and when he lets the original DP in, they explain to him (after some like banter, immediate hate bc they would hate each other hghs, and some coaxing of information) that they've been hired to help hunt him down (and though they don't say by who, Naoto was def hired by the P5 protag, but like 3-ish years ago, so instead of telling him that, Naoto tells him they were hired recently by Sae, bc that'll also technically be true).

Actually, I might add in, too, that the TV World fog was seeping into Akechi's apartment and that helped Naoto hunt him down? I think that could be interesting... and Akechi doesn't notice bc it's been a slow build, but something across Japan has been causing the walls of the TV World to thin (and maybe also the Metaverse and Tartarus bounds) and let them seep into the real world, which of course is a problem. This'll tie well into my plan for this fic too - the pair of Detective Princes get contracted to dive into the various shadow worlds at random by government agents so that scientists can test the reactions of Shadows and stuff, etc etc basically they gotta play along until they can target the head of this evil government snake organization and take it down together swiftly and effectively, giving info back to Sae for safekeeping and occasionally bumping into other major characters from the games. And at the end, they find where all three of these shadow worlds are converged and have to fight the big bad boss down there to separate Tartarus, the TV World, and the Metaverse again and also separate all three from the real world once more.

There'll be changing perspectives between Akechi's pov and Naoto's pov, changing probably either chapter to chapter or every other chapter, depending on the vibes haha, and in the end, when they do take down the big bad (both of the shadow worlds and the head organizer of this whole thing who's trying to control the shadow worlds), or maybe after, then Akechi is forced to realise that hey actually living in isolation like he had been sucks shit and makes plans to meet up with the p5 protag. Maybe he even does meet up with him, at the end of the fic, I haven't decided yet haha

I'll still be keeping the Showtime idea that I had bc ngl that scene drove a lot of my want to write this fic in the first place, though I still gotta finagle a way of making it written out as cool as it was in my head without being either over- or under-explained and flashy, idk haha, but beyond that and Naoto and Akechi forced to work together their plots were gonna be actually really different. Plus, I figured I could maybe do more with their characters, because for Akechi it's 4 years later so he's like 20-21, but for Naoto, it's been a Hot Minute since they've had to go about doing shadow world stuff I think (though maybe I'm wrong and they've been doing shadow world stuff this whole time! idk), so they're now 24-25 and Working Through It haha

Anyways! That's the whole idea 🫠 I know this was a really long reply but I just,,, I've been thinking about this fic a whole bunch haha

There's still some things I gotta tweak out still, and I gotta actually write the damned thing too, but! There ya go haha

Hey so I want you to tell me every single thing I could possibly want to know about Star Trek

OK YEAH. under cut because. well. you know me.

So, in the 60s, Gene Roddenberry started a sci-fi series. This was Star Trek. It's about a starship named the USS Enterprise, which is part of Starfleet. Starfleet is the exploration branch of the Federation of Planets, which is basically the UN of the galaxy. The USS Enterprise is, at the time of the show, captained by James T Kirk, although it was previously captained by Christopher Pike. Kirk is an extremely traumatized nerd who is doing what he really wants to do. His First Officer (and Science Officer) is Mr. Spock, the only alien on the ship. Spock is (half) Vulcan, a species that values "logic" above all, yadda yadda. His Chief Medical Officer is his bestie, Leonard "Bones" McCoy.

He also has: Lieutenant Nyota Uhura (Communications Officer), Lt. Commander Montgomery "Scotty" Scott (Chief Engineer), Lt Hikaru Sulu (Navigator), Nurse Christine Chapel (Nurse), Ensign Pavel Chekov (pilot [?]), and Yeoman Janice Rand (Yeoman)

All these characters are MASSIVELY important for the time. Uhura was a black woman in a major position on the ship; Chapel, Uhura, and Rand were all strong women; Chekov was Russian during the Cold War; Spock was a metaphor for xenophobia and was also Jewish; Sulu was Asian in a time where anti-Asian racism was super high (and his actor, George Takei was Japanese and was raised in internment camps).

Importantly, Star Trek was so so amazing for a show from the sixties. It had one of the first interracial kisses on TV, and had multiple episodes with all sorts of metaphors. Yes, it had problems (misogyny and a fair bit of racism), but for the sixties? It was so incredible.

And the second season started with the episode "Amok Time", which was written by a queer man and focuses on the idea of Spock going into heat and going to die if he doesn't fuck. Somehow, writhing in the sand with Kirk cures this.

And that's the start of slash culture! Almost all slash culture is the fault of either Star Trek or X Files.

So Star Trek: The Original Series got 3 seasons and became a cult classic. And then in the 80s (?) it got the movies. The Motion Picture (bad, but tolerable), Wrath of Khan (pretty damn good), Search for Spock (bad and questionable), Voyage Home (aka The One With the Whales and fucking AWESOME), and then two others I didn't care about whatsoever.

And then, after the movies, The Next Generation came out. It takes place a bit later, with better cameras and effects. The spaceship is smoother, and it's also incredible. Its cast includes: Captain Jean Luc Picard, First Officer William Riker, Chief Medical Officer Beverly Crusher, Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge, Lt Cmr Data (what is his role I can't remember), Security Officer Tash Yar, Worf (also can't remember his role), Dr. Pulaski (I don't like her), Guinan (bartender), and Wesley Crusher.

Terrible confession, but I only finished TOS. I still know TNG pretty well tho.

After TNG we got: Deep Space Nine (my BELOVED), Voyager (wish I had watched more), Enterprise (good if you ignore the misogyny), and then all the nuTrek I haven't been paying attention to because I can't watch it.

Deep Space Nine is the other one I never finished but know, and it focuses on a space station near the planet Bajor. Bajor just threw off the rule of Cardassia, an empire. The Federation, with questionable motives, is helping them rebuild. They send a captain there, and then a wormhole opens, making the space station super super important. Then a war happens but I didn't reach that.

It focuses on Captain Sisko, his son Jake, his first officer Major Kira Nerys, his CMO Julian Bashir, his science officer Jadzia Dax (trangender worm), his engineer Miles O'Brien, a cop Odo, a bartender Quark, a "simple tailor" (actually an exiled Cardassian spy) Garak, and later, Worf.

It's really good, because while TNG pulls a full utopia, DS9 contradicts it and also has just amazing characters. Shame I didn't finish it before Netflix lost it. It also has the first CANONICALLY bisexual character in Star Trek.

There's a LOT of Trek, and I can probably give vague overviews about all of them and also answer any and all questions about it. Please. Please have questions.
