Take a Breath (and kiss me) – Tara Carpenter
Tumblr media
Pairing: tara carpenter x fem!reader
Summary: Your girlfriend Tara gets a little clingy when she realizes you haven't kissed her properly in days.
Word count: 2,0k
Content: cursing, fluff, kisses, cuddles, tara being a sad pup, college routine kicking everybody's asses, core four as a family.
A/N: First time writing for Tara! Pure fluff cause I’m starting on a new job this week and needed comfort.
English is not my first language.
It's been four days straight since you last kissed Tara.
Not that she was counting, she really wasn't, but now, after an extremely long and tiring day of exams and more exams, it seemed impossible not to feel your absence next to her. The feeling of neediness and loneliness hits her hard when she realizes how long it's been since you two have been together.
Four days. Four whole days of no holding hands or playing with her hair, no hugs, no cuddles and definitely no kisses. Be it on the forehead, the cheek, the shoulders, the hands, or on the lips. Nothing. It's like the universe just decided one day 'nuh-uh, no kisses for Tara Carpenter' and boy that was unfair.
The last time you kissed her – actually kissed her – was on Monday morning, at the beginning of that hellish week, when she woke up too early with the sunlight escaping through a crack in the curtains bothering her eyes, with her whole body completely curled up on top of yours. One of the best ways to wake up, really. The same thing happened to you a short time later, because as much as Tara loves being in your arms, she also can't help but feel restless when she's awake and move a lot, but the way she lights up when you sleepy mumble a good morning to her doesn't make you able to be upset with her for that.
You gave her a slow, lazy kiss, still with that warm aura of sleep remaining.
It was the most she could enjoy of your company before you had to leave in a hurry to escape the scolding Sam would give you both for spending the night having class the next day – even though, you know, you're college students and adults – and get to your own dorm to be ready in time for your first class in the morning.
She would have braved the scolding and made you stay a little longer if she had remembered that exam season was about to start. Unfortunately, this only occurred to her when she had her first taste of it later that day.
See, that was perhaps the thing Tara hated most about her new life as a student in New York: the way the change in routine could easily overwhelm her, and how that made it even worse because you couldn't be around as much as she wanted you to.
You were a year ahead of her and your courses were different, so you didn't have any classes together and your paths barely crossed during the day, which meant the only times she got to see you were on quick runs across campus, barely having time to exclaim a 'hi baby!' before disappearing with stacks of books and notebooks in your arms.
Sure, you exchanged a lot of messages, but it wasn't the same as having a warm body next to her in bed or on the couch. You couldn't even come to the apartment after everything because she was also too tired from her own work to hangout after it.
But Friday had finally arrived and she had enough time to wallow in self-pity until everyone got home. Checking the patterned wall clock that her sister bought when they moved in, Tara realizes that it's already past five pm and the sound of the door opening is the sign that her family has started to come in. She buries her head in the pile of cushions, ignoring the throbbing pain in her temples.
“Ugh, finally,” Mindy plops down next to Tara on the other side of the couch, clasping her hands above her head to stretch, “What is this? Why is there a sad, miserable gremlin on our couch?”
She hears Chad's loud laugh coming from the kitchen but can only mutter a 'fuck you' muffled by the cushions she's sunk into, feeling a tap on her calf in response.
Tara wasn't going to put up with any mockery now, not when she was so tired and sleepy and missing you. She would do the same thing she had done the last few days: take a hot shower without giving a shit to Quinn's protests about using all the water, hug Sam when she got home from work in 45 minutes, and accept the offer of a snack when her sister ask if she had already eaten, then she would go to her room, throw herself on the bed and text you goodnight, before completely blacking out until the next day, when she could finally have you all to herself for the entire weekend – and for the rest of the week too. The worst part is over, so screw it, you guys could afford to miss some classes.
“Are you just gonna lay there and give up on existence, lil dude?” Mindy starts again, interrupting the peaceful and only partly distressing silence Tara had settled into as she builds up the strength to stand up.
“Will you shut the hell up?” She bites, grabbing one of the cushions and hitting her friend in the face, “You’re not funny and my head hurt as fuck.”
“Jesus, okay, okay!” Mindy waves her arms in defeat and stands up, “I won’t say anything else then.”
"Great."
“I’m not gonna say–” She takes on a teasing tone, “–that Anika thought that a certain someone was really upset and buried in books all that time in their dorm and that it would be better if they came straight here after class to take a break, but I’m not gonna tell you that.”
"What?" Tara’s expression immediately brightened, “You’re serious? What you–"
“Well, I told my girlfriend to bring your girlfriend, but it's okay, I'm not gonna say any of that.”
Mindy looked extremely smug but Tara chose to spare her another hit in the face for the sake of the information she just received. She lights up and jumps off the couch in a flash, rushing to shower and get ready now that she has a good reason. She hears Chad shouting from the kitchen:
“Girl, I thought you were tired!”
“Right?” Mindy laughs, “Wednesday’s at that age when a girl has only one thing on her mind, Chad.”
This makes her stop: “I don’t look like her!”
She slams the door shut when she hears their laughter increase in response.
If someone asked Tara if it was true that she sat on the side of the sofa closest to the door so she could see the exact moment you arrived, she would vehemently deny it – even though that's exactly what she did – and she would also deny that she deflated a little when the first person to arrive after the twins was Sam with a pizza box in one hand and covering a big yawn with the other.
You and Anika only arrive almost half an hour after Sam, finding Tara already watching you with doe eyes. Your haggard face immediately breaks into a smile, lines of fatigue crinkling in the corners of your eyes.
“There you are, dear,” you cross the room towards her and Tara leans in, even before you touch her, practically purring at the soft kiss you leave on her forehead, “I missed you.”
She melts when you wrap your arms around her, burying her head in your chest, but that's it. A kiss on the forehead and a hug and then you're pulling away again because you and Anika have brought more food that should be placed on the kitchen counter.
It only took this small moment of you going back and forth for everything to come back to Tara with full force. You didn't kiss her.
It's stupid, it's irrational, but her eyes fill with tears even though she can clearly see you from behind, unpacking the groceries and talking to your friends there.
Tara tried to just sit and wait for you to come back as soon as you were done, but patience was never her thing.
“Hm?” You hum when you feel a tug on your hodie's sleeve, looking back to find Tara with a tearful, frustrated expression.
“I had a really long day,” she begins, not quite sure how to ask for what she wants, eyes focused on the floor, “Will you come stay with me?”
Your heart races and your voice immediately softens: “Of course, sweetheart.”
Tara wastes no time in dragging you to her room by your wrist and you can't even react to the warning look Sam throws you over her shoulder.
She perches on your lap the second you sit down on the bed, sighing in relief as she buries her face in your shoulder.
You rest your chin on her head, “Did somethin’ happen?”
“I’m gonna quit college,” she moans in defeat against your neck.
You huff a giggle into her hair, “Same, baby.”
Tara pulls away just enough to look at you and the pure love and tenderness in your eyes is more than enough to make the tears come back.
“What? What is it?" You straighten up, worried, tightening your arms around her.
“You haven’t kissed me in four days.”
She blurts out, voice cracking and strangled and you stop.
“Four days?”
Tara nods, “Except for the one on the forehead, you haven’t really kissed me in four days and like, several hours.”
“Oh.”
“Oh?” She frowned. Shit, now she was getting mad at you, “Oh?”
You rush to take her mind off it, pressing a kiss to her lips in which she immediately melts with a soundly sigh of relief.
“I’m so sorry, baby,” you murmur between small pecks distributed on her lips, “I was so caught up in everything that I didn’t even notice.”
Tara still seemed a little upset by your response, but you kissed her again, bringing a hand to her jaw to deepen, feeling your girlfriend's arms entwined around your neck.
When you pull apart this time, you're both out of breath and Tara's face is covered in a soft red glow. You gently draw patterns with your fingers on her hips and lean in, leaving a kiss on her warm cheek.
“I’m sorry, Tar,” you echo, looking deep in her eyes “I’ve missed you so much. How can I make it up to you?”
She pretends to think for a moment, averting her eyes to hide the shiver that runs through her body.
“It's been four days,” she huffs with more annoyance than she actually feels, “I'm a girl who has abandonment issues, you know, it's your obligation to kiss me every day from now on.”
“Noted,” you smile.
“But…” She starts with a mischievous smile, “You could also make me feel better by watching The Babadook with me.”
“No, no, Tara!” You whine, “The noises of that movie freak me out!”
“Oh, I know,” your girlfriend says, blinking innocently, “But I want to do something with you, it's been so long since we watched something together alone and I love you so much.”
"I love you too." You respond instantly.
It only takes a look at those doe eyes and you lose the battle immediately and Tara looks victorious. She knows the power she has over you, the adorable little shit.
She leaves your lap just enough time to pick up the laptop on the table and returns to her place, you pull her back and lie down on the pillows, dragging her against your chest, pulling a blanket from the corner of the bed to cover you both.
“Tests are over,” you say, burying your face in her neck as the movie scene darkens, “The next few weeks are ours now. Just ours.”
Tara giggles when you startle again, sinking further against your body, smelling the hodie you were wearing, the one she got you for your birthday.
“Ours,” she says, “I like how that sounds.”
Tara tries to stay awake as long as possible, even after you fall asleep with your face buried in her neck. She's almost asleep when Sam quietly opens the door, a plate of pizza in hand and an eyebrow raised. The silent question of ‘can she stay the night please?’ is just a formality.
There's no way you're getting out of her league anytime soon.

Help! I'm really struggling to pass my Chinese languages class.
Oh well… We all know the problem… I had to struggle with Russian. But when I chose the Russian Cosmonaut preset, a lot of things went a lot easier.
So: It would be cool if your mother tongue was Chinese. And if you were an ambitious, hard-working and clever student overall. But not the nerdy type. The best in every subject. Even in sports. Let's go!
Your Chinese teacher is already forgiving your stupidity again. When you suddenly put the dictated sentence on the blackboard in the finest Mandarin and read it out without an accent. Then you translate it into Cantonese just to be on the safe side. Your teacher's jaw drops. The class cheers. You make a deep bow for fun. And your pants crack. You almost hit yourself in the crotch with a red head. Everything seems to be fine. Pants are fine. No one in the class seems to have noticed either. But something is strange. Have you always had that perfect, muscular, tight ass?
Next lesson: math! Not your favorite subject. Nevertheless, you surprisingly have an answer to all your teacher's questions. You answer with great stamina until your teacher says "Don't take offense, Wang, but I know you know the answer. Why don't you give the others a chance too?" Wang? Why Wang? You put your arm down. You tense your biceps. A bit angry that you're not allowed to show the success of your learning. You burst the sleeve of your shirt. Damn it! You try to hide the tear. But there is no more tear. You're wearing a very form-fitting short-sleeved T-shirt. You admire your own muscular forearms and well-tanned, flawless skin. "Wang, if no one else knows, would you like to show us the solution?" You look at the task for a moment. And go to the blackboard to solve it. Child's play!
On the way to swimming lessons, you meet your tutor. You haven't seen her for two weeks. She looks at you and asks "Are you okay? Are you getting on? Is everyone nice to you? Do you understand me?" Lord in heaven, you've been in the USA for almost four months now. You speak better English than most of the long-noses here. You reply that you are doing great, that the material in your grade level could be a little more challenging, but that you are very proud to have made it to the swim team. And you offer her your support if she ever needs help. She looks at you like a cow in a thunderstorm.
Tumblr media
Yes, you actually work out too much on the weights for a good swimmer. But you love the water and you love the gym. It's a good time here. It's downright relaxing. Maybe you'll stay here and not go back to Beijing.
I have found your way out of bad grades @taurus-men1

Friends? - Theodore Nott
Warnings: English is not my first language, sorry for any spelling mistakes. Underage drinking, bit of angst, Cormac Mclaggen
Pairing:Theo Nott x fem!reader
Summary: You and Theo have this situationship, where you like each other, but don't know how to say it,so you stay as "friends".
a/n: this is my first imagine,I didn't like it that much, but I hope you guys like it<3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's not a secret for anyone that you and Theo have something going on between you too, everybody know that you guys like eachother, but when will you two finally realize that your feelings are equivalent?
You were in the Slytherin's common room, there was a party going on, Slytherin won a  quidditch game against Gryffindor. Theo was by your side, one hand in your thigh and the other on your waist. Now you're talking with Pansy.
"Did you see Potter's face? It was hilarious" "I know right? Draco really did a good job today" you said as you feel Theo tightening his grip on you.
"Only Draco did a good job, love?" You feel Theo whispering on your ear,"You know you did a good job too, Theo! I'm proud of you" you whispered back and then pansy said"I will get a drink now,bye lovebirds "
Theo starts kissing you at the same time as Pansy go away "I missed you, cara mia" " I missed you too Theo, but you can't just keep doing things like that in public,y'know? We're not a couple, and acting like that will make people think that we're dating"
"And what is the problem in that?" "The problem is that we aren't dating Theo! We're nothing more than friends and you have to put that in your mind" Theo's face gets serious and then he says " Alright then,if you don't want me to do it in public,I won't do it,but I think we should stop this, y'know "
"What do you mean stop this?" "We should stop kissing  and etc,y'know, that's not really a thing that 'friends' are supposed to do" "Alright,if that's what you want. I'm going to crab a drink"
[...]
2 weeks passed since you and Theo had that argument, and still you two haven't talked with each other, even your friends thinks this is bullshit and that you two are being stubborn, but you two don't seen to care. You try to show you don't care, but you've been distant of your friend group recently, and at this point, you think everyone in the group already knows what happened between you and Theo, after telling Pansy about, you knew all the group would know about it too.
This days you even avoided eating with them in the lunch, actually, you've been avoiding going to the great hall.
Now you're in potion class, you're sitting with Cedric, your best friend, even if he's a hufflepuff, you've been friends since forever.
"I think you two like each other, but don't admit it,and keep saying 'oh we're friends, and nothing more' and all this shit, but deep inside, you guys know you're made for each other. You haven't been smiling that much, since you two had that argument and in my opinion, you should talk to each other"
"I know Ced,I like him,but we're just friends and I bet he doesn't even think of me that way"
"You're a dummy for thinking like this"
[...]
More weeks passed by,and you still haven't talked with Theo. You're always looking at each other from across the room, but none of you would say a word.
Today it was having another party, but this one was with the all the Hogwarts's houses.
You were with Cedric, but you got thirsty "Ced,I'm going to grab a drink, okay?" "Okay,I'll be here" "Don't worry, you can go to Cho" "Alright,if you need anything,I'll come as fast as I can"
You went to the kitchen, got your drink and when you were going back to where the party was going on, someone stopped you. "Hello there, beautiful" Cormac smiled at you "Uhm.. hi Cormac,do you need something?" "Just thought that maybe we could hang out some time, love" he says as he get closer "I don't want to, Cormac" "Come on beautiful, you know you want me too" he put his hands on your waist "Get off of me, Cormac " "Oh,come on lov-"
"She said to get off of her" "Come on,mate! You haven't even talked in weeks,so don't bother us"
Theo punched him and said "get out of here before I kill you, idiot"
You and Theo watch as Cormac get out of the kitchen "are you okay?" "Yeah,uhm... I think I'm fine, thank you for helping me" you smile at Theo "Anytime... I missed you "
"I missed you too Theo"
"Your smile is beautiful"
You chuckle "Thank you"
"Listen,I love you, okay? There isn't a time at the day that I don't think about you, you're beautiful, not only your the way you look, but your personality too, you're funny, gentle and very sweet to other, which don't match with Slytherin 'mean personality',and that shows that we don't necessarily need to be mean, and I love the way you smile,I love your hair, and I love your eyes,I love everything in you. And say that we're just friends, but I'm catching across the room, always. You're always in my mind, and I don't know if you feel the same way,you probably don't,but I don't see myself without you"
"Theo,I love you too,so so much,I didn't tell you sooner because I thought you didn't feel the same way I did,and I didn't want to finish what we had, because for me,it was better to stay like that, than lose you forever"
"Your not going to lose me,your the most precious thing I have in my life and I will not let you go"
Theo kisses you while pulling you by your waist,he grabs your thighs put you on the counter, while the kiss get more heated as he pulls you closer. You put one hand in his neck and the other under his shirt.
"Wow,looks like you finally spoke to each other again, huh?" Pansy said chuckling

New Girl
pairing: bang chan x reader
word count: 1.346
warnings: flirty channie (needs a warning) bully
genre: fluff
a/n: 2 updates in 2 days cause it’s my birthday week :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i walked up the main gates of the college building. it was my first day of college and i was very nervous because i didn't like being the 'new girl'.
and besides that, it was my birthday. imagine having to go to school on your birthday and being bullied by bad boys all day.
i walked up the steps and reached my locker. i took my books for the first class and closed it. as i did that, i felt someone standing behind me. i turned around.
a boy who looked a year of two older then i was, standing there, he had dark eyes and dark brown hair. he was smiling and had cute dimples on both sides of his cheeks.
''hey gorgeous.'' he said.
''hello.'' i said blushing.
''hey, what are you turning red for?''
''nothing.'' i mumbled.
''i haven't seen you around before. new?'' he asked.
i nodded.
''well, see you around beautiful.'' he said winking and turning away.
i was surprised by the way he was calling me 'gorgeous' and 'beautiful' because i was neither of those things.
i put that thought to the back of my brain and moved towards 45 minutes of English.
i reached my class and looked around.
the boy i met before was sitting there and unfortunately the only empty seat was the one in front of him. i sighed and sat down.
''ooh, new girl.'' a tall girl said as i sat down.
''let's see, what's your name?'' she asked, rudely.
''Y/n.'' i mumbled.
''speak up!'' she commanded.
''leave her alone, Jae.'' the boy from earlier said.
''and since when have you been a protector of little snot rats, Chan?''
he stood up.
''oh, got a crush on mrs. new girl, have you pretty boy?'' the so called Jae said.
Chan blushed.
the entire class was staring at the three of us.
''what's going on here?'' said a calm voice and everyone looked around.
professor Min had arrived.
''nothing, professor.'' Jae said innocently.
Chan sat down again.
professor Min introduced me to the class and Jae smirked at me. i felt so shy, i wanted to melt into the earth.
after English, i went to get my stuff for maths class.
i opened my locker again but at that moment, Chan ran up to me.
''hey, Y/n.'' he said.
''hey.''
''listen, just ignore Jae-hee okay? she likes making fun of others.''
i nodded.
''what've you got next?'' he asked.
''maths.'' i answered.
''me too.'' he smiled. ''let's go.''
i walked to maths class with him.
we were walking down the hall, when Chan suddenly took a strong hold of my arm and pulled me towards him in such a weird way that it looked like i was hugging him.
i was really shocked. i looked up at him, but he was glaring at someone. Jae-hee. she had stuck out her leg to make me trip, but Chan had saved me.
he let go of me. ''you alright?'' he asked.
i nodded and we continued to walk as though nothing had happened.
''are you good at maths?'' i asked him.
''nope.'' he said smiling.
''me neither.'' i said, shaking my head.
we reached our class and sat in silence for no more than five minutes.
then Chan started telling me about the teacher. he said he has a big wart on his nose, which was true! i had to stuff my fist in my face to muffle the noise of my giggles.
i heard Chan snort with laughter behind me.
we got detention. we had to clap dusters after school.
''not too bad.'' i thought.
Chan and i went to lunch together too.
we found a table and sat down.
i was eating my burger in silence but kept glancing at Chan. i really started to like him.
i wasn't the only one though.
lots of girls liked him. they walked past him, winking, waving and one girl even stopped to ruffle his hair. he got really annoyed when she did that and glared at her.
she blushed and hurried away.
i smiled. he looked at me.
''what?'' i asked.
''nothing.'' he said, blushing again.
''hey, pretty boy.'' said a rude voice.
it was Jae-hee.
''having lunch together, are we?'' she said smirking. she drew up a chair besides Chan.
''so, what're we talking about?'' she asked him.
''what ever that was, i don't remember asking you to join us?'' he said unconcernedly.
i smiled at him.
''nothing.'' i said.
''nothing.'' she imitated me.
Chan pushed his chair away from her and moved it closer to where mine was.
Jae-hee stood up, seized hold of Chan's shirt and kissed him.
i gasped.
Chan pushed her away almost immediately and stood up.
''what the hell are you doing?!'' he shouted at her.
everybody in the cafeteria was looking at us. (pt. 2)
''i- i still like you, Chris.''
''well i still hate you, you hear me? you make fun of all of my friends, embarrass me in front of everyone and you expect me to like you?'' he called out.
''Chan, calm down.'' i said quietly.
''i can't calm down, Y/n!'' he said. ''i've had enough of this. just get away from me and my girlfriend.'' he said, looking at Jae-hee.
girlfriend? i said to myself. did he just call me his girlfriend?
Jae-hee had tears in her eyes of fury and embarrassment.
''you'll pay!'' she said to Chan and ran away.
''i'm not scared of you.'' he said.
he sat down and i rubbed his arm, trying to make him calm down.
he finally returned to his burger. he took a bite.
''you didn't mind that, did you?'' he asked, going red.
i shook my head shyly.
''well, d' do you wanna be my girlfriend?'' he asked.
''well, you are pretty cute.'' i said and blushed a deep shade of red.
''so... that's a yes?'' he asked.
i smiled and nodded.
''so, you wanna go on a detention date with me?''
i laughed. ''sure!''
we finished lunch and had a little time left so we walked around the grounds.
''Chan?'' i asked.
''yeah?''
''aren't you worried about what Jae-hee said?'' i asked.
''i didn't want to tell you this, but Jae-hee and i dated in high school and we didn't work out. so she got really mad about our breakup, and she's been saying 'you'll pay' almost every week since. and the most she's done is hide my pencil case in her desk.''
''not too creative, is she?''
he chuckled. ''nope, not at all.''
just then three guys jogged up to us. i had seen one of them during maths class. he was short and muscly. one of them was the same height as Chan and the other one was a little bit longer than them.
''hey guys, this is Y/n.'' Chan introduced me.
''girlfriend on the first day?'' the tall guy said as i blushed.
''you gotta go slow bro.'' said the shortest of the three.
''i'm Felix.'' said the one the same height as Chan. he held out his hand as i shook it and he smiled.
''i'm Minho.'' said the guy that was a little longer than Chan and Felix. he waved at me.
''i'm Changbin.'' said the shorter and muscular guy i've seen in class.
i grinned at the three of them.
''Y/n, these are the guys. since i'm the oldest of them all they like to call me dad. i have five other sons so in total i have seven, hope you don't mind the whole package?'' Chan asked me with a cute dimpled smile.
''can you guys excuse us for a moment?'' he added.
they smirked but jogged away.
Chan took my hand and we sat down at a bench.
''they seem nice. and no i don't mind you being a father of seven others.'' i told him.
''they are. the others are as well.'' Chan replied.
''listen, i really like you.'' he said after a while.
''i like you too, Chan.''
he smiled.
''can i tell you something?'' i asked.
he nodded.
''it's my birthday.'' i said.
he slowly moved closer.
''happy birthday, jagiya.'' he whispered.
he was very close now.
i knew what was coming.
i closed my eyes, and he kissed me.

Life Lessons
Pairing: Loki x reader
Warnings: innuendos, flirting, mild swearing, groping.
Summary: with your last year of college coming to an end, determined to be the first in your family to graduate, you prepare for finals, when your English teacher throws a wrench in your plans.
*college au, Loki is captain of the soccer team and Thor is captain of the football team (of course 😁)
Part one-
Tumblr media
You made your way down the halls to your last class of the day, English literature. It was the one class you dreaded. You loved the class, your teacher Mr. Banner was by far your favorite, it was your classmates, well one in particular who seemed to enjoy making your life miserable.
You bolted in, sitting at your desk as you pulled out your laptop, preparing to take notes "Well well, there you are, i haven't seen you in the stands during practice, I thought you may have been avoiding me." He said, propping himself on your desk. "Loki, could you get your ass off my desk please?" You asked, looking up at him, his green eyes bright as ever "I thought you liked my ass, you seemed to when I see you at practice." He smirked making you roll your eyes.
"Maybe I just like soccer, the world doesn't revolve around you and your ego." You said looking back to you laptop. "Ouch, that hurts darling." He said grabbing his chest. You did your best to ignore him, you admittedly had had a crush on him for awhile, who wouldn't, with his long black hair, and chiseled features he could have any girl in school he wanted, and he usually did.
"My laufeyson, take your seat." You heard Mr. Banner as Loki jumped up practically running to his seat. "Morning class, I know you are all prepared for finals, hopefully." He smiled as the class laughed "but, I'm going to change things up a bit. I'm going to pair you off into teams. And I want you to do an analysis of any of Shakespeare's works. You will create a presentation on its significance to modern times, and the importance of the writing, you will have three weeks to complete it and then you will present it to the class." He said pulling out a piece of paper. "As I call your names, find your partner and start discussing which work you would like to do." He said.
You waited anxiously, looking around you would love to be paired with Steve, be was always studious. Or wanda, you knew she always recieved top marks. "And finally Ms y/l/n, you'll be paired with Mr laufeyson. Find your partners and get started." He said sitting behind his desk as you looked at Loki, leaned back in his chair smirking at you. "Shit." You muttered, going up to Mr. Banners desk.
"I'm sorry sir, but is there any way I can get another partner?" You asked as he looked up at you. "And what's wrong with Mr. Laufeyson? You two seem to get along fine." He said, looking back seeing Loki watching you "Sir, Loki is an egotistical jerk, and I would rather work alone then with him, please I'll do anything." You pleaded "y/n, you need to learn to work with people who you may not get along with, it's part of life. I suggest you suck it up and try to get along with him, this project is a large part of your grade." He said "yeah, I know." You sighed, heading back to your desk as Loki gestured to the desk next to him with a smile. "This is going to be a long three weeks." You sighed, grabbing your things.
"So, what were you thinking about doing?" You asked him sitting down. "Well, there's lots of things I was thinking about doing." He purred wiggling his eyebrows "do you have to be a pig all the time?" You asked as he laughed "why don't you harass your girlfriend." You huffed opening your laptop "I don't have one." He said looking at you "Well that's surprising." You said pulling up a reading list of Shakespeare's works. "I have several. I'm a bit.....insatiable." He smirked "eeww, could you not." you said glaring at him. "Can we just get this over with please?" You sighed as he smiled.
You spent the rest of class deciding to do Romeo and juliet, slightly cliche, but popular nonetheless. As the bell sounded you grabbed your things and quickly left class without looking back. "Y/n...y/n wait!" Loki yelled making you stop. "What Loki, I want to go home." You said crossing your arms. "D..did you want to come by practice? We can go over the assignment after?" He asked slipping on his jacket "no I don't think so, I'm just gonna.." you started "Looooki, baby there you are." You heard a girl yell behind him as she ran towards you both.
"Hey Stacy, what are you up to?" He asked as she leaned up, pressing her lips to his as you looked away. "I came to find you, I wanted to walk you to practice." She said, running her hands up his chest. "Whose this?" She asked looking at you "this is y/n, she's in my English class, we were paired up on a project." He said looking at you. "And i was just leaving so.." you said as she ignored you "come on loki, let's go." He said grabbing his arm dragging him off.
You shook your head as you turned to leave, missing the glance he gave you as he was pulled away. This was better you thought, you were not about to be another knotch in his bed post. You made it to your car, throwing your bag in you climbed in. You looked up seeing the soccer field, your eyes immediately finding him. His hair pulled back into a bun, his uniform showing of his muscular frame.
You sat staring as he jogged around the field, until that girl, Stacy, ran towards him jumping up as he caught her kissing her. "Uugh...." you sighed, starting your car as there was a knock on the window making you scream. "Thor, what the actual hell!" You yelled rolling your window down. "Sorry y/n, I was just wondering if I could catch a ride, my brother had practice so he needs the car." He said smiling. "You don't have practice." You asked. "Nope, no football today, coach wants us to "take a day" Whatever that means." He air quoted making you laugh. "Sure, jump in." You said smiling.
You dropped Thor off, making your way home, if you call the closet of an apartment home. You plopped on the couch, scrolling through your phone as you opened Instagram. You followed Thor so occasionally pics of Loki would pop up if he was tagged, this time it was him and that Stacy girl, it looked like she had taken a selfie in the car as his face was hidden in her neck and her hand was on her breast as she sat on his lap. Scrolling down, seeing the caption "this girl gettin lucky tonight" with a winky face, and she apparently tagged eveyone be knew.
You rolled your eyes and tossed your phone aside before making your way to bed, preparing for the longest three weeks of your life...

I.  THE FIRST MEETING
   "please, be my lover!"
you choked on your drink which made yachi reflexively pat your back lightly. this is the 10th person this week who has confessed their feelings to you. hinata, who was sitting at the same table as you, could only gape at what he was witnessing.
you don't like crowds, especially when you're being the centre of attention, usually those who express their love for you will always express it in a quiet public space. unlike now, in the middle of the cafeteria with the man's voice so loud, you immediately freeze because all the attention of the people there turns to you.
with a broken voice, you tried to refuse the man, "sorry ... but i ... can't," you answered weakly because anxiety was slowly eating away at your body.
but the man was still adamant, he shouted and forced you to be his lover, and he even tried to hold your hand, luckily another hand pushed and grabbed the man's hand away from you, while yachi and hinata pushed your body to stand behind the two of them.
"no means no, you can't force them to accept you," said the man with metallic blue eyes and short black hair, his sharp gaze stared down at the man, making the man tremble uncontrollably. with that, the man who has harassed you forcibly removed his hand from the grasp of the man with metallic blue eyes and flew away from the cafeteria.
after the man was gone, you breathed a sigh of relief and thanked the person who helped you. "it's not a problem, but are you okay? you looked very uncomfortable earlier," asked the man.
"yes, i feel better," you answered as you lifted your head to get a better look at the man who was helping you. when your eyes met, your heart pounded and suddenly you felt nervousness creeping into your whole body.
"thank goodness. then i'll go, i still have classes to attend," he answered as he walked out of the cafeteria, but before he had time to set his feet more than a meter you realized you hadn't gotten his name. "wait, may i know your name?" you asked with your hands behind your back, embarrassed. while your two friends gape at the question you just asked the man.
"akaashi. akaashi keiji," he said and continued his steps.
not long after the man named akaashi left, you and your friends also decided to leave the cafeteria and look for another place in the campus area to chat and eat your snacks.

II. A SECOND CHANCE TO CHASE HIS LOVE
you stared blankly at whatever was in front of you, it had been a week since the incident occurred, but you kept thinking about the man with short black hair and sharp metallic blue eyes. your heart always pounded when you thought about him, this was the first time in your life you felt helpless like this. your mind always goes to the man surnamed akaashi, you can't seem to erase him from your mind. you even wonder if this is what falling in love feels like.
yachi cleared her throat, making you look up at her. "so, what's your plan? want to make him fall in love with you like the others?" she asked curiously, which was immediately nodded by hinata who was also curious about what you would do next.
"i don't think i would do that to him. i want him to fall in love with me without me using my power," you answered firmly. "do you think i can do that?" you asked again for the umpteenth time which your two friends only answered with 'maybe'.
"it's almost time for mine and hinata's class, are you okay being alone?" yachi asked worriedly.
"i'm fine, you two better go now before you're late for class!" you answered with your right hand waving in front of your face as a signal to chase them away.
hinata, who's clueless about that gesture, just nodded and said, "let us know if something happens!"
after the two of them left, you decided to go to the library to look for the books you needed for your assignment for next week.
you walked through the shady trees around campus while humming a little tune to the song you were listening to through your earphones, until suddenly someone grabbed your hand roughly, making you flinch in surprise and automatically whip your head towards the person which causes one of your earphones to fall.
your heart beating so fast when you see the same person who harassed you last week, your body freezes, but luckily you can regain consciousness quickly. you tried to pry your hand away from the grip, but to no avail, the grip didn't move an inch, and you were sure it would leave red marks or even bruises if he held it any longer.
"ow! let me go!" you shouted at the stranger, hoping someone would hear you.
"please give me a chance to be your boyfriend!" the man said in a forceful tone and desperation was visible on his face.
"please let go of my hand, it hurts so much," you whimpered.
still holding your wrist so firmly, he begged, "i promise i'll be a good boyfriend for you!"
"you're making me uncomfortable, please stop!" you said scared to death. you still try to release his grip even though you know it will only end in vain, until a hand taps the man's shoulder, making him reflexively release his grip on your wrist and making you take a step back.
"i thought what i said last week was very clear?" his metallic blue eyes scanned the stranger from head to toe, then glanced at you to check your condition for a moment before finally looking back down at the man in front of him. you rubbed your wrist which had been gripped by the stranger, a small curse escaped your lips when you saw your wrist turning blue.
you were born with the power to make everyone fall in love with you. you've always used your powers for things that benefit you the most, but you've never thought your powers would backfire on yourself like they are now. you never thought that your power could make someone obsessed with you to this extent, nor did you know that your power could influence people who were close to your target, you never noticed any of that until this incident happened.
along years you have this power, you have never experienced harassment like this, those who like you always know and respect your boundaries. and of course, this kind of incident makes you so afraid, especially in the previous meeting you had tried to neutralize your power from that man, but it didn't work.
"you better get lost and never bother this person again, or i'll do something worst." the metallic blue eyes couldn't leave the stranger in front of him, the grip on his shoulder tightened even more, making the stranger hiss in pain. without hesitation, the stranger removed akaashi's hand from his shoulder and walked away leaving you alone with akaashi.
silence greeted the two of you, only the sound of a sigh of relief and the wind blowing could be heard for a few seconds, until finally your eyes met each other. "are you okay?" asked the man with short black hair worriedly.
"i'm okay, just a little shaky and bruised on my wrist. thank you for helping me again!"
"we have to treat your wrist, let me take you to the infirmary."
the walk to the infirmary was filled with silence, no one made a sound between you, you were even sure you could feel the sound of your rapid heartbeat because of akaashi's presence beside you. you tried to open your voice, but no sound came out of your mouth, and it didn't go unnoticed by akaashi. "if i may ask, why is he chasing you like that? have things like this often happened to you?" he asked, "sorry, you don't need to answer if you're uncomfortable," he continued in a gentle tone.
before you could open your mouth to answer, akaashi's voice interrupted you again, "we're here, sit down and i'll get the medical kit."
you sat on one of the mattresses there while waiting for akaashi to find the medical kit, your legs were hanging over the edge of the bed, and you moved your legs back and forth like a child who was waiting for their mother to buy them a lollipop.
after finding what he was looking for, he walked towards you to immediately treat you. "for now i will wrap a bandage around your wrist. when you are home, you have to compress it with cold water." the big hand wrapped your wrist in a bandage carefully, as if he didn't want to leave a single scratch on your hand, it made your heart beat fast again and the tips of your ears turned red.
finishing putting the bandage on your wrist, you thanked the man with metallic blue eyes, who responded with a small nod and went to return the medical kit he borrowed earlier. you were still sitting on the edge of the bed, debating with your thoughts until akaashi's voice interrupted again for the umpteenth time, "are you sure you're okay? you seem off."
it's now or never, you thought. "I'm fine, it's just... i...," you said uncertainly.
akaashi raised an eyebrow, waiting for what you wanted to say to him. "can i have your number, i'd love to treat you to a cup of coffee if you have time!" you said quickly, which was almost not caught clearly by the man's hearing.

III. THE TRUTH BEHIND 'THEIR' LOVE
after several days of you and akaashi communicating with each other to align the schedule for the two of you to meet, finally, the day came. the day you'll treat him to a cup of coffee and maybe answer his questions that weren't answered at the previous meeting.
earlier, akaashi took the initiative to pick you up and go together to the place where you were going to meet because he was afraid something would happen to you again, but you refused, saying that it was okay. akaashi, being the gentleman he is, finally gave in because he didn't want to make you feel forced and uncomfortable around him.
the jingling sound of the bell above the door rang when you entered the cafe your eyes scanned the surroundings, looking for the figure of akaashi who had sent a message saying that he had arrived. until finally your eyes caught a familiar figure who had helped you twice, it wasn't difficult to find him because the cafe was quiet that day. on the end table near the window, akaashi sat, in casual clothes combined with glasses that framed his metallic blue beads making him look more handsome. shit, your heart was beating fast again.
you waved from where you stood and walked towards the table nervously. "sorry if i made you wait!" you said in a tone that sounded a little panicked.
"no problem, i just arrived too," replied akaashi with his signature smile.
after you were settled and ordered what you wanted, the two of you exchanged stories with each other to get to know each other more deeply and chatted about random things that happened to either your friends or yourself, until you remembered the questions that akaashi had asked you a few days ago.
"about your question a few days ago...," you said suddenly, making the atmosphere a little awkward.
"you don't have to answer it if you don't want to."
you took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. your eyes stared at your hands clenched into fists in your lap. "no, i want to answer that question. but can you keep this a secret?" on the one hand, you are worried that he will reveal your secret, but on the other hand, you are sure that akaashi is not someone who likes to reveal other people's secrets.
akaashi, who was initially sipping his drink, stopped. his eyes looked straight into your eyes with a very serious look. "you can take my word," he said confidently.
"okay, listen. would you believe me if i said i had powers?" you asked hesitantly. akaashi raised an eyebrow and motioned for you to continue what you wanted to say.
"i ... i have the power to make anyone fall in love with me. but the two previous events were beyond my expectations," you explained in a low voice but could still be heard by the man in front of you. "i had just discovered the fact that my powers could backfire on me if i used them too often, and that incident in the cafeteria was an example. i've tried to neutralize my power from that stranger, but apparently ... it didn't work," you stopped, couldn't continue your sentence any longer, disappointment was written on your face.
"do you use your power on me?"
"NO, OF COURSE NOT! EVEN THOUGH I LIKE YOU, I WANT YOU TO FALL IN LOVE WITH ME WITHOUT THAT STUPID POWERS!" you responded with panic written on your face.
one second, two seconds, three or even four seconds passed in silence between you and akaashi before you finally realized what you had said earlier, making you reflexively cover your mouth with both hands. your face flushed red from the embarrassment that was slowly consuming you. oh no, i didn't just say that.
without you realizing it, akaashi's two metallic blue beads were looking at you gently and a smile was plastered on the man's face. "is that so? you should try harder then, i'll be watching."
   "eh?"

IV. CHASE, CHASE, CHASE HIS LOVE
"there's volleyball practice today, right?" you asked your two friends, yachi and hinata,
"how do you know?" hinata asked.
"huh ... today kiyoko-san excused herself from attending practice, so i'm taking care of the karasuno team alone," yachi said weakly, making you and hinata pat yachi's shoulder lightly.
"uhm ... keiji told me that there is volleyball practice today. do you think i should bring him something?" you asked a little nervous about their response.
"KEIJI?! SINCE WHEN DID YOU BECOME THAT CLOSED? AND YOU NEVER TOLD US!" yachi replied vehemently. you just smiled awkwardly at yachi's response, which you ignore.
"maybe you can bring him mineral water or something, because usually after i exercise it will be very tiring," hinata responded.
you pondered for a moment, before thinking about what hinata said. you suddenly rose from your chair to go buy something without saying anything to yachi and hinata, leaving both of them confused.
"where are they going?" asked hinata, who was answered by yachi shrugging her shoulders, as a gesture that she didn't know. "we better get to the gymnasium before it's too late," yachi responded while pulling Hinata's hand so he wouldn't leave her by running.
you went to the nearest mini market to buy mineral water and some snacks for keiji's team, and returned to the gymnasium to watch today's training. when you got there, the gymnasium was already crowded with fangirls from various players, making you have to jostle to find a comfortable seat, you were a little regretful that you didn't come with yachi earlier.
on the way to the bench, you saw one of the managers of the fukurodani team, whose name you believed was yukie, making you reflexively call her in a rather loud voice.
yukie looked at you and asked, "uhm, do you need something?"
"sorry to bother you, but could you give this to keiji? and this snack is for you," you said with your hand showing a bottle of mineral water and a plastic bag containing snacks.
"oh my god, thank you, i'll give this to akaashi!" she answered with a virtual glow after seeing the many snacks in the plastic bag.
after giving it all to yukie, you went to find a comfortable place to sit. your eyes scanned all the players present until your eyes met keiji's metallic blue eyes, making you reflexively wave your hand at him, which he responded with a wave too.
you watched as yukie gave your entrustment to keiji, making the other members curiously gather around him. soon their eyes were scanning the audience, as if they were looking for someone in the crowd.
you sat quietly during the game, until someone tapped your shoulder, you turned around and found yachi behind you. she casually grabbed your hand to come with her to sit with the manager and the coach. during the match, your eyes occasionally looked towards keiji, making yachi have to jabbing your waist with her elbow several times.
after practice ended, yachi left you to hand out bottles to the karasuno players, leaving you alone. not long after, Keiji approached you, a smile framed on his handsome face. "you are the one gave me water and snacks? you shouldn't have to bother giving me that." his big hand stroked your head gently, makes your face blush.
...
class would end in a few minutes, you looked towards the window watching the trees blowing in the wind out of boredom.
after the lecturer ended class, students began to leave the classroom one by one. you chose to be the last one to leave the classroom because you didn't want to be crowded with the others.
this morning you made two portions of bento for you and keiji, you two had promised to eat together today, he even offered you to wait in front of the locker so you guys could walk together to the cafeteria.
you picked up your sling bag and went to your locker to get your bento box. you were silent for a moment, checking your phone to see a message of disappointment from yachi because you couldn't eat together. after you replied to yachi's message with a mocking emoji, a smile spread across your face, making the person standing in front of you ask, "what makes you smile like that?"
you were a little shocked by the sudden presence of the black-haired man in front of you, but you were able to get over it quickly. "ah, just replying to yachi's message. she's disappointed she can't have lunch with me."
"oh, i see. want to go to the cafeteria now?" keiji asked you to which you answered with an enthusiastic nod.
during the trip to the cafeteria, you exchanged stories about your classes and the lecturer who was teaching, like how you were reprimanded for being caught daydreaming in class or about bokuto asking the lecturer the same thing over and over again. keiji also offered to carry your paper bag containing two bento boxes because it looked heavy, but you refused, saying that it wasn't that hard.
after you two sat down at one of the empty tables there, you told Keiji that you brought him lunch, and handed him one of the bento boxes. keiji thanked you for taking the trouble to make him lunch.
"try it. i made it myself!" you said enthusiastically.
keiji opened the bento box slowly, as if it were a valuable object. he took chopsticks to pick up a side dish and fed it to his mouth. keiji suddenly fell silent, making you nervous about the results of your own cooking.
"is it that bad?" you asked with a mixed heart.
keiji just smiled, his eyes looked softly at you, "no, it's very delicious. just like my mother's cooking," he answered with a smile still on his face.
you clapped your hands as a small celebration for your successful cooking, making the man's eyes fall on your hands which were covered in bandages and band-aid, making him reflexively take your hand and stroke it gently, "you've worked hard enough." he said, making you freeze in place.
keiji let go of your hand and cleared his throat. "sorry," he apologized for holding your hand without your permission.
   "it's ... it's fine!"
after lunch, silence fell between the two of you for a while, until finally keiji spoke up, "i heard there will be a fireworks festival at the beginning of september, do you want to watch it with me?" he asked with one hand scratching the back of his neck which didn't itch.
without thinking, you answered excitedly, "sure!"
Tumblr media
V. Unknown Second Date
hour after hour, day after day, and month after month you count just for this special day. you already look charming in a pastel blue yukata with neatly styled hair.
now you just need to wait for keiji to pick you up at home, your heart is beating fast, imagining the difference in how handsome keiji will be today, whether he will wear glasses or not. You were too excited that you couldn't stay in your room, all you did was turn around in the hallway. if it weren't for the empty condition of the house, surely your older brother would have cursed you.
not long after, the sound of a knock on the door stopped you, you immediately stepped towards the door to open it. behind the door, keiji in a navy yukata with white details looked very handsome, he even wore glasses, making him look twice as handsome. "you look beautiful," he complimented with a slightly blushing face.
"ready to go now?" he asked again, you nod. keiji held out his hand to you, and you took it.
when you arrive at your destination, there are lots of food and game stands lined up, the visitors are full, making keiji's calloused hands grip yours tightly so that you don't separate.
you pulled keiji to all the stands that caught your attention, making keiji put a smile on his face. in return, keiji tugs your hand a little to get your attention, and he takes you to a cotton candy stand with various shapes. "you want one?" he asked to which you answered with an enthusiastic nod.
"now we better find a place to watch the fireworks, i'm sure you don't want to miss that," keiji's statement made you look away from the cotton candy in your hand. "you're right! come on!" you said, again grabbing keiji's hand.
the two of you sat under the cherry tree with a clear view of the vast sky. one by one people took their places to watch tonight's fireworks, the wide field  which was initially only filled with a few people was now full. they were enthusiastic about keeping this beautiful night in their memories, especially the children who had asked many times 'when the fireworks would be lit'.
you chuckle at the children who can't wait to watch the fireworks, and so do you. suddenly the sound of a countdown was heard, making him reflexively look towards the sky.
akaashi placed his calloused hand on your soft one, making your cheeks flush with the small action. "the countdown has begun."
the final countdown has been shouted, now the sky is decorated with colorful fireworks that look beautiful. but akaashi's eyes were fixed on you beside him, you who felt noticed it turned around and said, "this is so beautiful!"
   "yes."
you two stared at each other for a long time, your faces getting closer and closer. your body feels like it can't be moved, as if it knows that this is what you want. until finally keiji asked, "may i?" to which you answered with a small nod and flushed cheeks.
keiji's calloused hand held your head, one hand caressing your flushed cheek gently, and slowly your lips met. at first awkwardness gnawed at you, but whatever was on your mind, makes you reciprocate the kiss.
keiji pressed his forehead against yours after you guys parted from your kiss. your eyes still staring deeply into each other. with heavy breaths, keiji confessed his feelings to you, "i love you."
"i love you too." that night, many beautiful new memories were etched there.

౨ৎ ˖ ࣪⊹ description: student athlete!anton x studious class officer!reader | you swore to yourself, to you friends and even to your parents “I'm not one to easily fall.” and you thought you were that tough, not until him of course. [note!!: hiii i'd just like to quickly say that this is my first ever post ever and i'm still a bit insecure with my writing, and english is not my first language so bare with me now 🙏 open for any forms of feedback please do take note that i will take longer to update/respond to anything because of school, thank you!!! ]
[Day 14]
“You seriously aren't dating?”
It's been over an hour since you've set yourself to finish the very last thing that you needed to complete your grades in Economics.
You and a couple of your friends were in the library on an early Tuesday morning to finish schoolwork. You've spent the past week taking tests, conducting group presentations, finishing remaining school work, and preparing for the finals which were to be held the next day.
“No —shouldn't you be studying? I heard your class is getting a long test from Mr. Choi later.” you didn't bother drawing your eyes away from what you were doing hoping that they would stop pestering you with the unnecessary questions.
“That's not a problem to me, so stop changing the topic. Tell us what's going on between you and the swimmer guy, you two are always together nowadays 's so hard to miss now.” you stopped and stared at the paper you've been working on, giving Liz a quick glance.
“He likes me.” These words slip past your mouth like it's been resting at the back of your tongue.
”And?” you sighed at Liz's urges and pursed your lips, trying to find the words to explain everything.
“I haven't reciprocated.” your response was very subtle but your tone indicated hesitance.
“For real? Well, how do you feel about Anton?” Liz's question made everyone take a pause on what they were doing, they were all eyes and ears for you.
“Anton —he's very sweet, and he cares about me, like, a lot. And you know how I've been bothered by him ignoring me for like, months? I just suddenly became interested in befriending him, even just a little bit —but, yeah, that happened. I don't get why it bothered me so much that it got to a point of him confessing out of the blue, does this mean I like him too?” Your eyes lingered on the empty space on the table you occupied.
Your friends exchanged worried looks, unsure of how to help you.
“I mean, you were mainly worried that he hated you, right?” you weakly nodded at Danielle. “Normally you wouldn't really care about that stuff, at least since last year, so looking at it now it seems like your fixation on Anton must mean something.”
You sighed, averting your eyes from the table and staring on the floor below you as you started to think. Because of something that happened back then, I just stopped caring for anyone with a negative sentiment towards me. I didn't care when that girl I swore to the heavens I loved suddenly stopped caring about me just because of a stupid rumor, I didn't care when people started giving me glares, whispering to themselves when I passed by, I didn't care when I saw the screenshots from group chats that talked shit about me and my friends. I just didn't care, but what made me care for him? —you started to reflect on your feelings and actions for the past year.
“I'll be fine!” The sudden shift of tone and the smile that sprang forth your lips shocked your friends.
“You sure? We're really worried, you know.” Liz held your free hand and caressed it with her thumb.
“Yeah, I think I got it.” you heartily smiled at both Liz and Danielle to reassure them.
Danielle went to give you a warm embrace whilst Liz had her arm wrapped around your shoulders, giving you a light squeeze.
In all honesty, even you didn't know what you meant by "I think I got it.”. What was the next move? Just go with the flow —you repeated in your mind, allowing yourself to be receptive as the next few hours flew by.
————— ୨୧ —————
Anton sat next to you in the classroom with a very few others, those including you who chose to stay back for lunch to finish the workload.
Both you and Anton were busy with something, with you assisting him every now and then since he had a lot more to work on.
Despite the very heavy atmosphere brought in by the stress from school, you and Anton appeared to be marveling in your own little world, sifting through paperwork with such radiant expressions embedded on your faces.
“How should I design this?” Anton held up his unfinished project.
You turned to face him, crossing your legs and holding your chin to imitate enthusiasm. “You know what it needs?”
“Please don't say Barney the Purple Dinosaur, that… thing… It terrifies me.” Anton shimmied his shoulders to express his supposed fear.
“WHAT? He's cute!” you pressed on him, making him breathe out a laugh.
“So you're saying Barney looks like you?” your eyebrows nearly touched from what he had just said.
“Excuse me? Do I look purple to you?” you jabbed at him with 'threatening' eyes.
“No, what I mean is, if he's really cute as you claim, he should at least resemble you.” Anton calmly explained.
His zealous explanation made you chortle. He was immersed in your laughter, your voice, your eyes that disappeared as you chortled on, and the corners of your lips that rose higher and higher, because of him.
“Oh, so I'm your basis for what you classify as cute?” you breathlessly spoke, still trying to recover from your disoriented state.
“Well, yeah! look at you…” he cupped your face in his hands, gently squishing your cheeks.
His eyes went from your lips to your eyes after you had gone completely quiet. Your eyes meet each other, stuck perfectly as if binded by glue. He delved into the pools of your eyes, trying to capture what it is you're trying to tell him with your stare.
“Anton.” Your serene voice made Anton blink.
“Yeah?” he whispered back.
“Can you give me a little more time?” he breathes in after hearing your question, but you spoke again before he could utter a response. “To think about… us.”
Your face was still in his hands. He started softly brushing his thumb against the skin of your cheeks. “Of course. I'm sorry, am I moving too fast?”
“No.” but I'm falling too fast —you were only able to finish your sentence in your mind, still afraid to admit your feelings.
You were still quite unsure. You were still afraid that things would end up the same way it did for you past 'relationships', you were already thinking about the plausible downfall before anything had even started.
————— ୨୧ —————
The bell rang, students scurried out of the building, being chased by the obligation to study for the exams tomorrow day.
“Don't message me tonight okay? Both you and I have A LOT to study.” you iterate to the guy walking beside you.
“Yep. I'll be crying over chemistry… if you even cared.” you playfully rolled your eyes at his humorous cry.
When you stepped out of the school gates, you were expecting him to wave goodbye and walk the other way, but then after being about a meter away from school, you stopped in your tracks.
“Why are you still with me? isn't your house the other way?” you furrowed your brows as you looked at him.
“You're crazy for real, my house is literally in the same direction as yours, keep walking luv.” Anton placed his hand on the area below the back of your neck, lightly pushing you to continue your steps.
“Wait, really? you've always walked the other way…” at this point you were just questioning everything and you already had a lot on your mind considering the exams.
“I visit the record store nearby before going home.” you simply nodded at Anton for his clarification.
“Why?” you asked to which he shrugged.
“I like it there. It's peaceful, it's vintage, the music is fire, and the owner is very nice.” it was true that he often visited that place before he went home, but not everyday, what wasn't a fact is that his home is actually in the same direction as yours. “I can take you there some time when you're free.”
“I'd love that.” you utter, smiling to yourself, keeping your eyes on the vamp of your shoes.
You two kept walking till you reached the gates to your house and the sun was just about to fall.
“I never knew you lived just right ahead.” you were unlocking the gate when the words fell off your lips.
“Are there no people inside to open the gate for you?” you swung the gate open and looked at Anton whose eyes lingered on your bedroom window on the second storey of the house.
“My dad's abroad, my mom's at work.” you shake your head away from the gloomy thoughts, smiling up at Anton.
He smiled back, subtly biting down on his bottom lip.
“Get home safely Tonii.” there was a glint in Anton's eyes when they enlarged in a modicum.
“Uh —Oh, yeah, you too.” Your laughter filled his ears and soon enough he cracked up as well.
“What do you mean 'you too'?” At this point, you're just breathing out your words. “I'm literally at home right now!”
“You never know, Barney might be right behind the door to kidnap you…” Anton eyed the door of your house, his actions gave you the creeps and the thought that an intruder might actually be inside your house waiting for you flashes in your mind.
“Ow!” you hit Anton's chest, but still, he laughed.
“Go home! you didn't have to give me anxiety you know!” Anton chuckled once again looking down on you who was looking up at him and pointing at his face, acting menacing in jest.
“Go inside your house first, what will happen then if I left and Barney ends up kidnapping and eating you alive huh?” you both had pursed lips in an attempt to suppress a laugh.
“Okay, okay. I'll go in.” When the two of you finally calmed yourselves down, you walked to the doorstep of your house.
You had the door wide open, just enough for Anton to catch a glimpse of your humble home. You stood by the door, already inside the house. “Message me when you get home, will you?” you asked eagerly, just loud enough for Anton to hear you despite the distance.
“I will.” Anton replied, matching your volume.
He waved at you as a smile crept up to his face.
His smile somehow caused you to feel some kind of current coursing through your entire body. You had to defy the urge to just walk right back to Anton to make him feel what you felt as your eyes traced the curve that gradually formed on his lips.
He kept his smile as he started to slowly disappear from your sight. You were so smitten that you failed to notice that he walked back to the direction where you came from.
————— ୨୧ —————
About an hour has passed, and the message you'd been waiting for since you've had yourself settled at your study table is yet to come.
You've been flipping over your notes, sequentially staring at every word delineated with different color variations of highlights.
Maybe he forgot, he must've gotten really tired… —you began to think of a thousand reasons why he hasn't messaged you yet. You exhaled heavily, laying your head on your forearm resting on your study table. You shifted your head to the side and eyed your phone. You were pondering on just grabbing it and asking him where he was and why hasn't he messaged you yet.
You sat up with both hands at the sides of your head. After a few minutes of resisting and a long blink, you finally gave in.
Tumblr media
Anton just got off the bus when he felt his phone vibrating in his hands. His eyes went bulging out of its socket when he saw your name.
Tumblr media
Anton couldn't help but beam at the little nickname you gave him but he quickly gathered his thoughts and gulped, glancing at the quiet street of their neighborhood. He couldn't stand making up a nonsensical excuse that you'll eventually dissect within seconds, he didn't want you to think that he doesn't really care or that he forgot, that he got too tired. It wouldn't make sense for him not to speak or be with you even if he's exhausted to the core, he could only be in repose with you after all.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A downturned smile formed on Anton's lips. He made great effort every time he intended to flirt with you, and he was aware when you flirted back, he just wasn't certain if you meant any of them. He surely meant every endearment, often masking them with his little quips. He didn't want to think you were just frivolling with him and he's quite abashed with even having to take a second to think about it.
He felt his phone vibrate in his hands again, this time you were calling. He picked up almost immediately, and you were met with the ceiling of his room.
“Nice wall.” you uttered.
“It's the ceiling.” he was chuckling out of frame
He had his phone set up on his desk and you could see his medals and trophies at the background, and his cello. You were eager to ask him about his cello, ask him to play you something, and maybe even teach you. You cleared your throat as you cleared out your thoughts.
Anton sat down on his desk chair facing his phone —facing you.
Tumblr media
“Where are the others?” Anton asked as he watched you blurt down what you were studying.
“Oh, they backed out.” your tone was nonchalant and your head hung low, pouring all your attention to blurting, or at least you were trying to.
“Really?” he was almost laughing and you heard it, making your left brow rise.
“Mhmm~” you hummed back.
“You sure it's not because you wanted to talk to me?” Anton's tone sent shivers down your spine.
He sounded calmer, and a lot more alluding, so much so that you had to stop and stare at your notebook for a while to calm your mind and give it some space to process what to reply.
“Maybe —Well, yeah, I guess, but I called you to study.” your voice took after his making him feel assured.
Despite the soporific air in his room which he inhaled, he was wide awake, wanting to just hear you talk on and on and on again. His yearnings were answered not long after.
“And I guess I wanted to… hear your voice —again.” your figure remained placid in his eyes, but deep inside, your heart pounded like a whole planet of people marching together.
“Really?” somehow his voice became a lot lower, while still having a comforting and peaceful cadence.
“Mhmm~” your hum, this time, was a lot more mellow. It filled his ears and it got stuck in his head like a song that he almost hummed too.
“Everything about you is so, so beautiful.” your heartbeat persisted.
You looked up to your phone to see him, and there he was, giving you the same smile he left you as he stood by the gates of your home. How could you not smile back? in a matter of seconds, you shied away from his stare, looking back down on the paper that you've almost forsaken.
“Hey —uh —let's have this talk some other time. There's still a lot to study, especially for you.” Anton could hear the frailty trying to break out of your voice.
He chuckled spurring your attempts to calm your heart down to fall short. “Okay, lovely.”
Your head fell right onto your desk, producing a loud thud.
“Y/n? you okay?” your sudden action stunned him.
“Yeah, yeah, i'm fine! let's just study, please!” you pleaded as you lifted your head back up.
You just had no idea that his heartbeat was in sync with yours. He just wanted to be by your side again. He didn't want the call to end just yet, he loved hearing your voice, but at the same time he couldn't wait for the next day to come so he could admire you closely and marvel in your presence.

[Day 17]
Finals have come to an end. Some tests were easier than others, but you were confident, you were gonna be in the Top 5 of the ranks. You felt particularly good during those 3 days of absolute mind torture. Within those 3 nights, you and Anton have been having your study calls. You would both study the whole time, while also fighting to make the other blush more than yourselves.
It's a cloudy Sunday morning, you could tell it was cloudy since the sun has yet to peek at you at the time it normally would. You had just woken up from a good night's sleep and felt very relaxed that you had nothing to worry about anymore. No pending schoolworks, no group projects and presentations, no more quizzes and exams, and most importantly, no more school for a few short months.
Once that long awaited break greets you and pats you on the back, all you'll have to do is brace yourself for your senior year, your final year. You've been thinking really hard on what course to take and all you've ever been is nothing but unsure even with the pressure of having only a year left to figure it out.
You got your phone from your bedside table, and without checking it, you headed downstairs.
“Hey, hun', your grandpa asked if you wanted to come over and visit, we'll only be there till dinner.” your mom asked as she eyed your figure that slowly descended from the stairs. “Your grandpa is having some visitors if you don't mind.”
You lightly smiled at your mom and nodded.
It's been a while since you've paid a visit to your grandfather's haven —as you'd like to call it. He owned a huge flower field, filled with flowers that he and his family adored. Your grandfather loved seeing people with mouths hang open, admiring the beauty, the work, and the thought put into this field. He could've capitalized on it, but he didn't. He made a gateway and a stone path through the field, and anyone could go in and out. He always watched, to make sure that no one would ruin his beloved flowers, but for the most part he just wanted to see the appreciative nature of mankind towards such beautiful beings.
In the car ride to your grandpa's, your mom would ask you about everything that's been happening for the past few months. It's been quite a while since the two of you had an actual conversation. It was a great relief that your mom missed you as much as you missed her, where every night when you hear the sound of her parking the car in the garage, you couldn't bring yourself to get up anymore and greet her. It would be too late in the night for you to be up and it would worry her, so you would just lay there and you would see her with only the moonlight shining down on her, and she would caress your hair and leave once she's assured that you've been sleeping well.
After some catching up with your mom, you finally arrived at your grandpa's. He welcomed the two of you with a warm and wide smile spread across his face. He smelled like a pie of mixed fruits, which could only mean one thing.
“These visitors, they want to buy my field.” both you and your mom went wide-eyed from his words.
“You said yes?” your mom's hand reached for her dad's forearm, keeping it there.
“Well, not yet.” your grandfather scratched the back of his neck when your mom let out a loud sigh.
“Well, grandpa, if you can refuse it, you definitely should. That's your gift for grandma for her last birthday, and she's looking over it from the heavens. Who knows what these visitors would do with these fields. They might clear out all the flowers and build a factory for all we know!” your grandpa looked at you with contrite eyes.
“I know, I know, but they've really been pushing me for almost 8 months now! I was hoping we could talk it out through dinner.” you had so much trust in your grandfather, and you knew he could resolve this, you knew he would never give up the field, even for his own life. “And maybe you'd like their son too.”
The worry painted on your face was diminished within seconds.
“Dad!” your mom lightly hit his shoulder with the hand that used to rest on his forearm.
“What?” your grandpa seemed to be a little too indifferent with the situation he'd put you in and it made you a bit upset.
“Did you set her up with the son!?” your mom had a firm grip on his shoulder now, slightly shaking him as she spoke.
“I guess so.” your mom sighed even heavier than earlier. “Their son is a good guy! He's a bit timid, but he was tall! really tall… and I believe he plays basketball —or was it football? I can't really remember, but—”
“It's fine.” you blurted out, arms crossed and gloomy eyes pinned to the floor.
“I'm sorry my little tulip. I shouldn't have. You don't have to, okay? I'll try my best to convince them with my words and cooking alone, and if it doesn't work, then, I don't really know what to do —but you can just settle, okay?” your grandpa placed a hand on top of your head and gave it a gentle pat.
You could only nod and give him a weak smile. You loved the field, it's the only fragment of your grandmother that you'll be able to keep till your last breath. When you were born, it's been over a decade since your grandmother had passed. You had never been in her presence, but in the fields, you could catch a glimpse of her amidst the clouds, smiling down at you.
Before you knew it, the night would fall. You made sure you looked proper, still staying true to your words that you were not there to impress anybody.
You helped your mom with setting up the dining table. When the bottom of the glass pitcher you held touched the table, you heard your grandpa say “Welcome Mr. and Mrs. Lee! —oh, and hello to you too young man!”.
You sighed, but then you felt a hand on your shoulder. You turned your head and was met with your mom's reassuring smile. “Nothing's going to be sold, and no one's going to be forced into anything, okay?” she says softly, before making her way into the living room to greet the guests as well.
Her words made you feel at ease, the heavy feelings that slowly weighed down on you started to dwindle.
Put away the cloth you used to handle the pitcher, and you could hear your mom, grandpa and the guests coming into the kitchen.
“Oh, and that's my granddaughter Y/n. She's very smart, and she can sing too!” you suppress a laugh from hearing your grandpa's proud tone.
You turned around, and your mind went spiraling. It seemed out of the blue, a very peculiar instance. Perhaps this was entirely by chance as this was never a part of your wishes and prayers.
“Y/n y/s/n?” you tensely nod at who you could only guess as the mother of the family.
“You know my granddaughter?” your grandfather tilted himself to the side out of curiosity.
“Hmm, yes. We know her very well. She's known for being one of the top students in their school, in fact, she's helped our son a lot with his schoolworks since he had a lot to catch up on.” the mom gave you a warm smile after her sentence.
“Our son is very thankful. We hear your name quite a lot and we've really been wanting to meet you.” This time, it was the dad who spoke.
Your lips quivered. You're just simply at a loss for words.
Everyone was sitting on the dining table, and there he was, sitting across from you.
“Oh, I thought you were a basketball player because of how tall you are! good for you! I feel like being a swimmer is a lot cooler!” your grandfather would excitedly exclaim somewhere in the adults' conversation.
You and him never bothered to join in unless you were asked.
Once again, being in your own little world, when the adults had gone to the living room to talk, the two of you went to the flower fields.
“This place is surreal.” you barely believe that you were hearing the same mellow voice that you could never seem to get off your head again after a while.
“Yeah? just imagine how it would look under the light of day.” you crouched down to touch one of zinnias.
You felt his lofty figure crouch down next to you.
“I missed you, you know. My parents tricked me into coming here. I just said I wanted to see this field, but when we got close they told me they wanted me to meet the field owner's daughter. It was like they were implying that I get no bitches.” you couldn't help but laugh at him.
You turned yourself around and carefully sat yourself on the stone path with your knees bent towards your body. You could feel some of the flowers tickling your back making you giggle softly as you looked into his eyes.
“I missed you too Tonii.” he gave you a smile as bright as the moon above.
You both looked up to the sky and admired the stars, and the crescent moon.
“It was so cloudy this morning. I can't believe this sight would be possible.” your voice was very gentle, still admiring the night sky.
Anton looked into your shimmering eyes. He could see the reflection of the moon greeting him. It was telling him something. He was so mesmerized by you that he wouldn't even realize that you were already staring back at him.
“It's kind of funny, you know? it's like the universe was taunting us, telling us we're gonna meet another romance that was not each other, but in the end it's still us.” you tilted your head, trying to see through Anton's entrancing gaze.
“I like you too Anton.”
Despite the cold air of the night, heat traveled throughout your entire body as you watched his eyes grow larger.
“Am I hearing things? Y/n? Y/n are you there?” you released a hearty laugh and hit his chest playfully.
You allowed your hand to rest there, and you could feel his rapid heartbeat that went at the same pace as yours. It wouldn't take long until you were both staring into each other again, and at the same time, at the same speed, your eyes would shift to each other's lips, and they would meet eventually. You wrapped your arms around his neck when he had placed a hand to support your back as he leaned in closer, and closer.
“Y/n? Anton? Where are you?” you two would hurriedly stand up from where you were when you heard your grandpa's calls.
You glanced at each other's flushed faces before a flashlight shone right onto your faces.
“Oh, there you are. Well, Anton and his parents will be leaving now.” Your grandpa gave Anton a big smile, signaling with his hands for Anton to come back to the house.
You walked back side by side with your hands latched onto one another.
You two were met with silent stares when you entered the house with linked hands. You two would let go from each other and Anton would go stand next to his parents.
“We'd like to thank you for the wonderful meal, we really do appreciate it.” Anton's mom shook hands with your grandfather, and would give your mom a hug.
She went up to you and hugged you as well, a little bit longer than you expected.
————— ୨୧ —————
When you got home, you had asked Anton if you could give him a call since your time earlier was cut short. He immediately said yes and you two would be on facetime again, this time with no books or notebooks, not seated at your desks. You were both just lying on your beds with your phones in hand.
“Wait, you like me too?” Anton had been asking the same question for the past 6 minutes
“Yes!” you laughed.
He just couldn't believe it. You couldn't believe him either. You've been thinking about it ever since day 1, it was just now when you realized that you did feel the same.
“Are we like g-f and b-f now?” he places a hand over his mouth acting like a shy toddler.
“Ew, don't say it like that!” He ended up laughing too.
“Okay!” his laughter would fall to an abrupt stop and it would go silent for a while that you almost asked him if he was still there. “But seriously, what are we?”
“Well, we feel the same. Couples become couples because of reciprocated feelings. Now put two and two together.” you made little hand gestures as you spoke, and he just smiled, but deep inside he was awestruck, still finding everything unbelievable.
“We're… we're together now holy shit.” you couldn't help a gasp from escaping your mouth. You've never heard him cuss so heavily before, it sounded harmless —well of course, he's Anton— but it was so foreign to you that you just bursted out laughing.
The two of you talked and laughed throughout the night, and when the clock ticked at 12, you two had to say goodbye.
“Good night Tonii.” you yawned, making Anton expel a chuckle. “Can't you stop laughing at everything?”
“I should be the one saying that to you, but anyways, I just think you're so adorable, leave me alone.” his last words were muffled as he hid the bottom half of his face under the covers. “Good night lovely. See you again tomorrow.”
Tomorrow was another day, and a very great one as it turns out. Suddenly you two weren't hiding the fact that you two would hold hands and were always just centimeters away from touching noses. Your friends and Anton's alike didn't seem to be surprised at all, they were more likely relieved that the two of you finally came to a conclusion to what they thought shouldn't take too long. After all, the painfully obvious mutual feelings you shared were so strong that your friends and he would have distorted faces by the end of observing you two. But now, the clock is finally set.
“So you're saying, your grandfather spent almost a half of his life on that flower field, and it would be his final and greatest gift to your grandma?” you hummed an affirmation at Anton's query. “Woah.”
“The commitment made me believe that there is indeed true love.” you said in a very dramatic tone, looking off into the distance.
“I can do that for you too.” he took great offense from you laughing at his face. “I'm not kidding!”
“I mean, it,'s not that I don't think you can or would, you don't really have to. There's a lot more ways you can express your feelings, my grandpa just happens to be a very hard-working man who appreciates the smallest of the small things in life.” Anton just loved it when you got so immersed with explaining.
“It's love.” he blurts out.
“Yeah. Love.”
Love drives us to do the unthinkable, the perceptively impossible. Love is complex, but you would know it when you feel it, you would know when you've found it. And it is when love is exchanged unconditionally that life begins to finally be as fulfilling as they claim it to be in books and movies.

It's a warm spring day as you're sitting outside during lunch with some of your classmates, but you don't hear a single thing they're saying. Your gaze is constantly focused on the man you've had a crush on ever since you first laid eyes on him, and you haven't looked away since you sat down.
All your friends are discussing the upcoming senior prom and how it might not happen, but you're so lost in your daydream that you're only snapped out of it once your classmate Scarlett nearly shoves you off the bench.
"Did you even hear a word we said?!" She exclaims, and a bright red spreads over your face as you know you've been caught staring.
"I-I'm sorry," you say softly as you turn back, and when you look away, the man you were looking at looks your way, and you miss his gaze.
Scarlett rolls her eyes in response before summarizing what she and your other classmates discussed earlier.
"There's a rumor going around about a kissing booth so they can raise money for the senior prom, and I'm going to give you one guess who will be standing in it," she says with a big smile, wiggling her eyebrows.
"W-what? Are you- I mean- Really?" you say when the realization dawns on you who will be in it. Ransom Drysdale - a.k.a. the man you've been crushing on for a long time.
She confirms your suspicions, and the butterflies in your stomach go crazy, your smile almost splitting your face in half from excitement.
Your feeling doesn't last long, however, because when the feelings finally dawn on you that you have to kiss him - the one thing you've dreamt of since the first moment you crossed paths - your brain shuts down.
Your head snaps back to Ransom, and the smile you were sporting earlier vanishes. The bright red color on your face returns as he shoots a wink your way.
On the other side of the outside area of your college, Ransom is sitting with some of his friends, and he occassionally shoots glances your way because he can't keep his eyes off you.
For him, it was truly love at first sight when he saw you; he has never experienced anything like it. But deep down inside, he hopes he won't have to experience it again because he only wants you.
During the four years of your English Literature degree, you shared most classes with him, except for your minor, which you both took in a different field of expertise.
But when you two did share classes, you were usually stealing glances without the other one ever knowing. It's as if the universe was playing a cruel joke on you both, leaving you wondering what the other person was thinking and feeling.
Your patience will be rewarded soon, though, and it all started with that one wink.
A few weeks have passed since then, and the days leading up to the kissing booth have slowly crept closer. Everyone in your senior year has been talking about it, and for a while, it almost felt like you were back in high school again.
''Only a few days left. Are you sure you're not going to join in on the fun?! I heard he's an amazing kisser; you shouldn't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!'' Scarlett tells you excitedly.
In all fairness, you haven't stopped to think about it for even a second since you found out it will be him inside the booth. The one thing that's mainly stopping you is your shyness.
You've never been one to enjoy the focus in a crowd, and to have to kiss the man you've been crushing on for the longest time without ever telling him only makes your anxiety and shyness worse.
''I-I don't know,'' you tell Scarlett softly. It's not like you've never kissed a guy before, but you're afraid that if you kiss Ransom, your feelings might go overboard while he might not even care.
''Wouldn't it be weird if I kissed him? I've had a crush on him for so long, and he barely even knows I exist...'' you sigh, but Scarlett is quick to shut those ideas down.
''Girl, trust me. It won't be weird, because I know he feels the same about you! You should totally partake, and after you two might fall in love and live happily ever after!'' she tells you cheerily, but all you feel is your stomach dropping.
As much as you'd like that, you can barely even string a sentence together when talking to him, let alone do this. But once the day finally arrives, you overcome your fears and leave your comfort zone.
Tumblr media
''Here you go,'' you tell the girl collecting the money, and you get in line together with Scarlett. Since it's another warm spring day, you're dressed in a white and black polka-dotted sundress that hugs your figure in the perfect places.
Your hair is in a ponytail with a white bow, your loose curls swaying back and forth with every step you take. The look is finished with a pair of white Converse and subtle make-up.
As the sun shines through the windows, it makes you look almost ethereal, and as soon as Ransom notices you've gotten in line, he gets very excited.
With most people in line, he gives nothing more than a quick peck before moving on, but you're both getting a little nervous when you're inching closer to the front of the line.
''I'm not sure I can do this,'' you whisper to Scarlett when there are only two more people in line before it's your turn, but she turns to you before grabbing your upper arms.
''Girl, trust me. You're going to be fine, and you can do this. It'll be worth your while, alright? And if you want, I can go first so that you can see there's absolutely nothing to worry about.''
You think about it for a few seconds before you nod in agreement, and then it's your turn. Ransom can't keep his eyes off you as he stands there, his back straight and his chest slightly puffed out.
His hair is slicked yet a little messy, and he's wearing a thin sweater today in a color that compliments his eyes perfectly. You're standing behind Scarlett, yet you can smell his cologne, making you feel a little lightheaded in the best way possible.
Scarlett gives Ransom a quick kiss before moving out of the way, and that's when the realization sinks in that it is finally your turn. You're about to kiss the man you've been crushing on since your first meeting and the only one you want to kiss for the rest of your life.
''God, look at you. You're like an Angel straight from Heaven,'' he tells you, and it makes you blush uncontrollably, and you play with your fingers to give yourself a little release from the anxiety building.
''I- uh... T-Thank you,'' you mumble before lowering your head and closing your eyes tightly to fight the tears that threaten to escape embarrassment.
''Hey, it's okay. It's just me, and I'm not going to do anything you're not okay with,'' he tells you as he lifts your chin, and you look into his deep blue eyes.
''Do you trust me?'' he asks, and you nod before letting him close the distance between you two, and what he gives you is much more than a quick peck on the lips.
His lips slot together with yours perfectly, and his hand caressed your jaw before finding its home on your cheek, cradling it before tilting his head.
His tongue slides past your lower lip for entrance, which you happily grant, and every last nerve you thought you had is melting away completely.
Your hands find their place on his chest, the taste of Biscoff cookies is faintly lingering on his tongue, and you give yourself over to every last touch and flavor of him.
The kiss ends all too soon for your liking, but when you pull away, you're biting your lip as a smile threatens to escape your lips, and Ransom can't help but smile back at you.
''I gotta do this more often,'' he whispers to you, making you giggle softly. You nod before turning to Scarlett, who is waiting, and she's even more excited than you are about what happened.
You turn back to look at Ransom, and he's giving you one more wink before turning to the next person in line, but none of the kisses will ever compare to the one he just shared with you.
Later that day, when your last class is over, Ransom calls your name as you walk out of the building, and he catches up with you.
''Can I ask something?'' he asks when he finally catches up with you, and you stop in your tracks before turning your body to him, giving him your undivided attention.
''Yeah!'' you say excitedly.
''Would it be okay if I kiss you again? I can't stop thinking about how soft your lips are, and I'd like to kiss you again if you're okay-'' is all he can say before you practically fling yourself into his arms, closing the distance between you two.
It's not like he needed to ask twice. When you pull away, you both have a healthy flush on your cheeks and a big smile.
''Want to grab some dinner?'' you offer, and Ransom happily accepts. You hook your arm into his extended one as you two search for a place to have dinner and get to know each other better.
If there's anything this day has proven to you, stepping out of your comfort zone is okay. It might get you things you would have never thought possible.
''I can't wait to do this again if you'll have me,'' Ransom asks when you're standing in front of your apartment, and you nod in response. Now that you have him, you're not planning on letting him go.
''I'd love nothing more, Ransom,'' you say before getting onto your tiptoes and placing a small, tender, and lingering kiss on the corner of his mouth that has him instantly craving more.
He's had a taste of you and is confident that he's never tasted anything as sweet as you.

Kaiju Week in Review (February 25-March 2, 2024)
youtube
Brush of the God is finally out in the world, having premiered at the Osaka Asian Film Festival on March 2. Above is the most recent trailer, looking as impressive as ever. A more complete cast list is out too—Yumiko Shaku, Takumi Saitoh, Shiro Sano, and Shinji Higuchi are all in it. Haven't seen any reviews in English yet, but I suspect it's something special.
Tumblr media
Lots of comic news this week, but I'm giving Godzilla: War for Humanity #4 its own section because it continues to be so stellar. In the penultimate issue, Godzilla finally comes face-to-face with Zoospora—with the odds now thoroughly stacked against him. Ends on a great cliffhanger, with emotional catharsis reached but a world-class kaiju still left to beat.
Tumblr media
Every Monsterverse film has an obligatory graphic novel tie-in, and they've never felt more obligatory than Godzilla x Kong: The Hunted. Kong has the A-plot, taking on the Titan Hunter, a mech piloted by the owner of a construction company who (surprise!) lost his family in 2014. It's pretty amusing watching him get high on his own supply fighting second-rate Titans before an unarmed Kong dismantles him, but the character is just too generic. Godzilla's B-plot is just a protracted setup for the film. (I'm keeping my description vague because the identity of his Titan opponent hasn't been revealed in GxK's marketing yet.) I hope this is Brian Buccellato's last time writing Godzilla, as Fight or Flight and the first five issues of Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong weren't much better, but I probably shouldn't be optimistic. Zid's art is unsurprisingly the highlight, though he's sharing space with Dario Formisani and Drew Johnson. Some stunningly bad scaling and weird-looking Godzillas on those pages. Note that the comic is only (officially) available to backers of the hardcover edition on Kickstarter right now; the paperback edition comes out on March 26, a few days before Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
Titanic Creations has released a cover for their Gorgo Legacy graphic novel (amusingly Approved by the Monster Code Authority). It's written by Mac McClintock and Patrick McEvoy, with the latter also illustrating, and will be 60 pages long. Releases summer 2024, with plans for two more.
Volume 7 of Kaiju Girl Caramelise also released last week, and while I was hoping to share my thoughts on it, none of my local libraries have stocked it yet. So here's a simple reminder that it exists.
Tumblr media
Netflix's Ultraman: Rising now has a poster and a June 14 release date. S.H. FigureArts and Movie Monster Series figures for the film have also been revealed.
youtube
Gameplay videos for Godzilla x Kong: Titan Chasers are starting to show up on YouTube, courtesy of early-access invites going out. Reminds me of that Avengers Alliance game I played for all of a week. And a new month means new Godzilla Battle Line characters; this time it's GMK King Ghidorah and a Biollante variant. They're also overhauling All-Star Battle Mode later this month, letting you chose 50 units to deploy against the CPU (so less underleveled four-stars and other chaff ruining your runs).

He likes you more than sarcasm| Stiles Stilinski x f! reader
summary: It's Stiles's birthday and you don't know what present buy him so you ask for help to Scott.
warnings: none.
a/n: hii everyone, hope u like it and please let me know for any mistakes because english isn't my first language:]
Since early in the morning you have been running all the mall trying to get the best present for Stiles, it wasn't that you forget his birthday actually it was the opposite his birthday was the only thing on your mind since two weeks ago but still you haven't found anything and, to be honest, you were struggling right now so you decided that you needed help from the only one who knows Stiles a little better than you, Scott McCall.
Stiles on the other hand was worried about you, why? well, it's easy, turns out that you have been so concentrated on the present that you forgot to call to wish him happy birthday or at least a message like you always do on his birthday. You have been always the first person to call him since you two met.
You arrive at his house, knocking on the door impatiently waiting for him or someone to open but without a response, you used the key that according to the pack it was supposed to be only for emergencies but this was an emergency... well at least for you.
''Scott! Where are you? I need your help!'' you yelled as you stepped into his house as if were yours.
Scott who was sleeping on the couch, gets startled by your voice and your presence standing in front of him ''first of all, you scared the shit out of me'' he says holding a hand in his chest ''and how do you even get into my house? It was locked'' he raises a brow.
''I'm not here to talk about how you should change your lock because everyone in the pack has a key'' you just shrugged and you sit down next to him.
He just rolls his eyes at you.
''So why do you need my help anyways?''
''Okay, so as you know It's Stiles's birthday and I have no idea what to buy him this time, I actually asked him what he would like to receive and he just says and I quote you don't need to buy me something, your presence it's enough to make me happy but that can't be true, everyone knows that it's something you say just to not sound like you are a materialistic person but deep down you want to be surprised'' as you finished to say Scott can't believe it how oblivious were you, Stiles literally has confessed his feelings to you. '' I mean, what else he likes besides the sarcasm?'' you started to walk from side to side, thinking.
''Well, he likes you more than sarcasm- oh shit'' Scott's eyes widened as you froze in your place ''what did you just say?'' you were shocked, he mean it? Stiles really likes you? The same guy you fell in since you saw him sleeping in class drooling over his notebook?
''Stiles it's gonna kill me...'' Scott mumbled to himself.
Before you started to ask him so many questions, the front door of the house opens abruptly, scaring the two of you while Stiles started to walk with his phone in hand without realizing you were there.
''Dude I think something happened to yn, i have been calling her but she doesn't pick up and both of us know she is always the first one to congratulate me on my birthday no matter how early is''
''You like me?'' you asked him still in shock.
And in that very moment, Stiles dropped his phone on the floor his head moving to look at you, standing a few steps away from you. His cheeks turned red instantly and was hard not to notice.
''I'm sorry and good luck bro'' Scott patted Stiles's shoulder and run upstairs to his room.
You came closer to Stiles '' so... it is true?'' you asked him again, your voice full of hope. ''yes, I like you'' he murmured nervously avoiding your gaze, and slowly started to step backward ''I'm sorry if i made you feel uncomfortable i know you don't feel the same-'' '' but I do, i like you too, Stiles'' you cut him off as your heart started to racing.
There was a silence for a few seconds, then Stiles grabbed your wrist and this time he came closer to you, so close that your noses were touching, and finally, he kiss you, slowly and tender, a hand caressing your cheek and after a moment, you both break the kiss to breathe some air, damn air.
''By the way, happy birthday'' you chuckled.
''This is literally the best gift I have ever received'' he grins and connects your lips one more time.

Ceramic Lessons - Part Four
Cillian Murphy X Reader - Masterlist
Tumblr media
Previous parts: 1 - 2 - 3
Summary: after much insistence from his sister, Cillian attends a ceramics class with her. To his surprise, he feels a connection to the teacher, you. Will this connection go any further or will it be smashed like a bad ceramic project?
Warning: Fluff
A/N: a small reminder that this has nothing to do with his real life.
English is my second language, so I apologize in advance for any grammar mistake
︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵‿︵
Cillian had woken up and was finishing up Lukas' things for school while the kid was having his breakfast: eggs and toast with warm milk.
When Cillian returned to the living room, Sile was seated at the dining table next to Lukas, engaged in conversation with him. She had slept over. Lukas was laughing as he wiped his dirty hand on the white shirt of his school uniform.
"Use the napkin to clean your hands, buddy," Cillian said, placing Lukas' backpack on the table and sliding closer to him a napkin, which Lukas grabbed in a handful.
"Hey, you. Came home late last night, huh? Didn’t see you come in" Sile teased, raising an eyebrow at her brother. "I don't even need to ask if you had fun," she chuckled while Cillian smiled, slightly embarrassed.
"You had fun without me?" Lukas asked, and Cillian furrowed his brows, smiling at his son.
"Do you really think that's possible? You're my funniest buddy," he said, ruffling Lukas' hair, earning a proud smile from the young boy.
Cillian headed to the kitchen to get a cup of coffee he started to prepare earlier, with Sile following closely behind.
"Spill it," she demanded, crossing her arms.
Cillian opened the overhead cabinet and grabbed two coffee cups, one for himself and another for his nosy sister.
"He gave you a hard time yesterday?" he asked as he poured coffee into the cups.
"No, you know the kid is an angel. Took a while to fall asleep, but then I added a bit of whiskey to his tea, and it knocked him out," she joked, making Cillian squint at her as he handed her the cup. "Now tell meeee," she pleaded, tapping her foot on the ground, making him chuckle.
"You're quite annoying," he said, leaning against the kitchen counter, perfectly positioned to watch his son eating and playing with his toy dinosaur.
"And you're unbearable. Now that we've exchanged pleasantries, spill the tea," she said in a playful tone.
"It was good," he smiled, looking at her.
"Just that? Where did you take her? Did you kiss? Are you going out again? My god, can't you tell a proper gossip?" She laughed.
"I took her to a newly opened vegetarian restaurant, the one Pad said was interesting. And If he found a vegetarian restaurant interesting, I assumed it would be good," he grinned, and she nodded, agreeing with his logic. Pad is a very carnivorous guy.. "It was good, yes, we did kiss, and no, we haven't made any other plans yet. I'll text her later," he explained.
Sile had an enormous smile and a gleam in her eyes that a child would have upon receiving a pile of presents.
"Ah, that's exciting," she said, giving her brother a playful shove. "You can thank me by buying me an expensive gift for my birthday this year," she said, making him roll his eyes and leave the kitchen.
"Ready to go, champ?" Cillian said, looking at his wristwatch. "Need a ride?" he asked his sister.
"No, I'll take an Uber to work," Sile replied.
She was without a car because her husband was traveling with the vehicle, so she was managing with rideshares and Ubers.
Cillian nodded, and they all left the house together. He waited for his sister's Uber to arrive before getting into his car and driving to Lukas' school, which wasn't far from his house.
After dropping Lukas off at school, he took out his phone and sent you a message.
"Hey, I've been thinking about you.
Had a great time last night.
Maybe we can see each other again sometime this week?"
When you read his message, you smiled. Your phone was on your countertop, but you couldn't reply. You were in the middle of your first class of the day, and your hands were covered in clay.
After an hour or so, you finally replied:
“I would like that. Want to go to the beach? They look incredible this time of the year.”
Not long after, he replied:
“Sounds fun. When are you free?”
“Well, the only day I don’t have classes in the afternoon is Wednesday,” you texted back.
“Wednesday it is! Pick you up at 16:00?”
“Yep! That works.”
You noticed you were smiling as you put your phone down. You liked the idea that he didn’t ask if you wanted a ride, he just offered it as a part of the package.
The anticipation continued to fill your thoughts. You found yourself checking your phone more often than usual, eagerly awaiting his messages. You wanted to but it was hard to not anxiously think about your date with him in the next few days. You looked forward to it, loving the idea of having him again.
Each time he texted, you felt a rush of excitement, appreciating the little conversations and the effort he put into staying in touch. During the following days he texted you a few times, one time to settle the beach you were going to go, one time to ask if you ate cheese and another time to say he had thought about you after one of the members of his project wore a cow’s shirt with writing “Cows are friends, not food”.
You weren’t far behind. You made efforts to continue in touch as well, sending him pics of your ceramic projects and telling him funny moments during your classes. The lines of communication between you were becoming more fluid and comfortable.
The days leading up to your beach day felt like a countdown, each passing moment bringing you closer to another chance to spend time with him.
As you stood in front of your closet, you deliberated over what to wear. You wanted to strike the right balance between looking casual and put-together. Your choice landed on a flowy white sundress adorned with a delicate floral pattern. The lightweight fabric would keep you comfortable in the warm weather, and you complemented the look with stylish sunglasses, and an eco-friendly tote bag slung over your shoulder. Inside the tote bag, you packed a bottle of wine, sunscreen, some snacks, and a picnic blanket, fully prepared for a day at the beach.
After you got ready, you waited for him in front of your building. Happily, you didn't have to wait long, as he arrived right after. He stepped out of his car, looking effortlessly stylish in a light blue button-down shirt, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, a pair of well-fitted khaki shorts and a beautiful pair of raybans. His brown leather sandals completed the look, giving off a relaxed vibe.
As he walked to you he slid his sunglasses to rest on top of his head, revealing his gorgeous blue eyes to you.
With a friendly smile, he greeted you. "Hi, beautiful. Ready?" he asked, holding the car door open for you just like before.
You nodded, excitement and a hint of nervousness bubbling up. "Definitely," you replied, offering a smile as you kissed him on the cheek before sliding into the passenger seat.
The drive to the beach was a pleasant one. The sunroof was open, allowing the warm breeze to tousle your hair as you chatted. The coastal road stretched out ahead, offering glimpses of the sparkling ocean to your right. The view was mesmerizing with the waves crashing against the shore
During the drive, you exchanged stories about your days, and you delved into a lengthy discussion about the popular TV show "Succession," which you were currently obsessed with. You shared your thoughts on the characters, plot twists, and speculated about what might happen next in the series. The conversation just naturally flowing between you both.
As you talked and laughed together, the beach grew closer.
He parked the car, and you both got out, the sound of the waves and the smell of the ocean filling the air around you. He opened the trunk to reveal a picnic basket he had prepared away earlier.
"Oh, looks like you came prepared," you giggled, noticing the sizable basket.
He smiled back. "I guess you can say I’m trying to impress a girl, you know… She’s pretty special."
You smiled at him, your heart warming at his words. He surely did make you feel special.
He held his hand out to you, and you interwined your fingers as you walked towards the beach, scanning for a quiet spot to settle. The beach was relatively empty, which was one of the main reasons you had chosen it.
Between two gently swaying palm trees, you discovered a perfect and secluded spot away from the gaze of the beach crowd. Cillian efficiently unfurled a vibrant picnic blanket on the soft sand, placing yours on top of it for added comfort and protection from the fine grains. The two of you settled down comfortably, facing the vast expanse of the ocean that stretched out in front of you.
He smoothly retrieved a pair of small glasses from his picnic basket, holding them out to you. "Wine?" he asked, his voice carrying a touch of playful anticipation as he handed you one.
"Absolutely!" You responded with a warm smile, your fingers wrapping around the delicate glass as you accepted it from him. "I also brought a bottle," you added
"Perfect," he grinned, his fingers deftly uncorking the bottle. As he opened it, his blue shirt hugged his form, and you couldn't help but admire the way his biceps flexed against the fabric, igniting an undeniable attraction.
With the glasses now filled, he set the bottle aside and picked up his own glass. Raising it in a silent toast, he met your gaze, a glint of excitement in his eyes. You clinked your glass against his, the delicate sound resonating through the quiet beach.
He opened the picnic basket, to  place the bottle back in the basket and started to reveal an array of delicious treats. There were a variety of cheeses, some type of fruits, a small container of hummus, some crackers, and some nuts. The spread looked amazing, and you couldn't help but be impressed.
“My brother gave me some suggestions to pair well with the wine,” he chuckled.
“I’m impressed, Cillian” you smiled, taking the snack you bought from your bag glad you went with sweeter choices, you took out the mini chocolate muffins and vanilla cookies.
“I think we have a proper meal, here” he smiled and you nodded
"Absolutely. Is your brother a sommelier?" you asked curiously, taking a sip from your glass as your eyes locked onto his.
He chuckled. "No, he's not. But he could be," he replied with a smile. "He actually went to culinary school. Knows a thing or two about flavors."
"That's interesting. Is he a chef then?" you inquired, your gaze fixed on him as you continued your conversation.
"No, not really. He's a lawyer," he explained, causing you to furrow your brow in surprise.
"What?" you exclaimed, feeling a bit taken aback.
"Yeah," he laughed, "he decided to switch career paths, hoping for a more secure income in the future. But he still dreams of opening a restaurant someday. But I guess you can say he’s the family chef"
"Oh, That makes sense," you nodded and let your gaze sweep over the stunning view in front of you. The beach stretched out as far as the eye could see, the golden sand meeting the sparkling blue waves under the clear sky “It’s beautiful here”.
"It sure is," he agreed, his eyes fixed on you. You felt a warmth spread through you as you met his gaze. The sunglasses shielded his eyes, but you could still sense his attention on you.
He moved on the picnic blanket, moving closer and sitting beside you. His shoulder brushed against yours as you both faced the vast expanse of the ocean. With the sun still shining brightly, you both opted for sunglasses to protect your eyes.
You leaned your head against his shoulder, and he wrapped his arm around you, pulling you in close. The feeling of his warmth against your side was comforting, and you sighed contentedly. Together, you sat there, taking in the breathtaking view and enjoying the tranquility of the moment.
The sound of the waves crashing against the shore provided a soothing background melody, the salty breeze tousling your hair.
You closed your eyes for a moment, inhaling the fresh ocean air, feeling a sense of peace wash over you. Having him by your side made the experience even more special.
As you opened your eyes again, you stole a glance at him. His profile against the backdrop of the ocean was a sight to behold—strong, yet gentle. The hint of a smile played on his lips, and his relaxed posture exuded a sense of calm.
"I'm really glad we came here," you said softly, breaking the comfort silence between you.
"Me too," he replied, his gaze never leaving the horizon.
You took off your glasses and looked at him with a caring smile. "Hey, let me see your eyes," you requested, your fingers lightly tracing his cheek as you rested your arm weight on his shoulder.
"Why?" he chuckled, his curiosity piqued.
"I like the sight of them," you replied with a grin, your touch gentle against his skin.
Still smiling, he complied and removed his sunglasses. His mesmerizing blue eyes met yours, a warmth and intensity in his gaze that sent a shiver down your spine.
“There they are,” your smile widened, and you couldn't help but be captivated by his eyes. "You're very handsome, you know that?" you asked, your words filled with genuine admiration.
His cheeks tinged with a soft blush, his gaze momentarily shifting to the horizon. His reaction surprised you, revealing a shy side you hadn't seen before. It was endearing.
He moved his tongue inside his mouth, moistening his lips as he gathered his thoughts, his gaze returning to meet yours.
"Did I make you blush?" you asked, a playful smirk in your tone.
"You sure did," he admitted, his eyes holding a mixture of embarrassment and amusement.
"I thought you'd be used to compliments," you remarked, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.
He shrugged casually, his lips quirking into a half-smile. "Well, I’m. Sort of." he chuckled “but it feels different coming from you”
“How so?” you frowned friendly gazing him
He shrugged again, a hint of sheepishness in his expression. "I don't know, it just feels... more meaningful, I guess."
Your heart fluttered at his response, touched by the sincerity in his words. A warm smile spread across your face as you leaned in, closing the distance between you. Your lips met his in a soft, sweet kiss. Slowly tasting his lips, the wine adding a acidity to the experience. The kiss deepened naturally as you both slowly enjoyed the soft and warm feeling of each other's lips.
The connection you shared was undeniable, a blend of attraction, genuine interest, and the desire to get to know each other better making everything so exciting… You almost felt like a teenage girl.
As the kiss deepened, a spark of desire ignited between you as the passion grew, your lips moving against his with a fervor that mirrored the feelings building within you.
His hand caressed your cheek, his thumb brushing against your skin in a tender gesture. Your heart raced, the chemistry between you intensifying with each passing second.
Eventually, the need for air forced you both to pull away, your foreheads resting against each other as you caught your breath. A soft chuckle escaped his lips, and you couldn't help but smile in response.
With the passion of the kiss still lingering in the air, he left a few gentle pecks on your lips, his hands cupped your cheeks, his touch warm and reassuring, as he inched closer, his lips brushing against yours once again. After a series of sweet, lingering kisses, he finally pulled away, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. You couldn't help but smile in response, your fingers brushing against his as you shared a comfortable silence.
He shifted his attention, his fingers reaching for the small container of hummus. "Wanna try the hummus? I made it myself," he offered, a playful grin on his lips as he scooped up some hummus and placed it on a cracker for you.
"Hmm, I do!" you replied enthusiastically, glad for the change in direction. As you bit into the cracker, the creamy hummus spread across your taste buds, and you couldn't help but let out a satisfied hum. "This is delicious! Are you sure your brother is the family chef?" you praised, your eyes dancing with appreciation.
He chuckled, his gaze warm as he watched you enjoy the food. "I try my best. I’t’s actually his recipe" he replied modestly, a sense of pride evident in his expression.
“Ooh, okay. I like it” you said smiling and you both continued on talking, snacking and watching the view.
The sun finally began to set, casting a warm and vibrant display of colors across the sky. The fading light illuminated his features, making him look even more alluring. You couldn't help but notice how good he looked under the sunset light.
"Tell me about your family," he said, taking a sip from his now-refilled glass of wine.
"Sure, my parents live here in Dublin. They're still married after almost 50 years," you chuckled.
"Impressive," he nodded in agreement.
"Yeah... they're very religious. Don't believe in divorce, but they believe in therapy," you smiled, a hint of humor in your tone. "I guess that's the secret."
"It would make sense if it was," he agreed, his eyes showing a genuine interest in learning more about you.
"Yeah, I have a sister as well, but she lives in France now. She moved a few months ago to work as a clothing designer. We keep in touch often, I’m planning on visiting her soon" you continued, your expression becoming more thoughtful. "I guess you can say I'm pretty close to my parents, to my family. My mom, especially. She knows everything about my life."
“Everything?” he asked with a raised eyebrow, a hint of curiosity in his voice.
"Yeah, my mom even knows about you," you replied with a playful smile, noticing his gaze turning admiring as he looked at you. "It wasn't always like that, though," you continued, your tone growing more serious. "I was a difficult teenager, very rebellious, and often angry. We grew closer after the difficult events with my ex," you revealed, your eyes holding a mixture of vulnerability as you played with the picnic blanket fabric under your body.
"Rebellious? I could never have guessed that," he said, a hint of amusement in his voice.
You chuckled, shaking your head. "Yeah, it might be hard to believe now, but I had my moments," you admitted, a smile tugging at the corners of your lips. "I guess back then I was lost… and we all go through phases, right?"
He smiled back, a playful glint in his eyes. "I suppose so. I'm not looking forward to that with Lukas," he admitted, making you chuckle.
"I'm sure you'll handle it well with your caring attitude," you said, sipping your wine and making him smile. "How about you? I know you have two siblings."
"I actually have three: Páidi, Sile, and Orla," he told you.
"Oh, Tell me more about them," you prompted, genuinely interested in getting to know his family better.
Cillian chuckled, clearly comfortable talking about them. "Sure, let's see. Páidi, my oldest brother, he's the responsible one but also quite a fun company. In a way he is always looking out for us, making sure things are in order, he's a lawyer after all. He definitely has that logical, analytical mind but he can also be a trickster." he chuckled "And Sile, she is the youngest, and you know she is a bundle of energy. She's outgoing, fun-loving, and has this infectious enthusiasm. She can be a pain too" he smiled, you nodded knowing exactly what he was talking about "And then there's Orla, she’s younger than Pad and my older sister. She's the quiet one, more reserved and introspective. Orla is an artist, a painter to be exact. She's got this incredible depth to her, always observing." Cillian's affection for his siblings was evident in the way he spoke about them "We're all pretty close, despite our differences”
"So you all get along well?" you asked preparing hummus cracker
He leaned back, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "Yeah, we do. We have our moments, of course, but overall we're pretty close. After our parents died we started to put some effort into staying close. We supported each other through that hard time”
“I’m so sorry about your parents! Is it recent?” you asked concern on your voice
“Sort of. Dad died a year and a half ago. Mom died four years ago. She had cancer and he had heart problems, physically and emotionally. He never got over mom’s death, he was quite depressed afterwards” He explained
You nodded sympathetically as he shared about his parents' passing. "It must be really tough to lose someone you've been so close to," you said softly, feeling a pang of sadness for his loss. "I can't imagine how hard it must have been for you and your siblings."
He sighed, his gaze distant for a moment. "Yeah, it was. But we leaned on each other, and it helped us get through it. And now, we try to keep their memory alive by staying connected."
"That's a beautiful way to honor them," you replied with a sincere smile
The topic shifted naturally into your likes and dislikes, as you both shared more about your interests, preferences, and even some quirky habits. The conversation flowed effortlessly, and you found yourselves laughing and discovering common interests and tastes.s
As the sun continued its descent, the casting a warm and mesmerizing array of colors across the sky, slowly turning darker. You both fell into a comfortable silence, too busy admiring the view.
"It's so beautiful," you whispered, your eyes fixed on the still breathtaking sunset.
"Yeah," he murmured in agreement, his gaze on the horizon as well. His hand found yours on the blanket, and his fingers interlocked with yours as you both watched the end of the sunset.
As the last traces of sunlight vanished from the sky, the air grew cooler, and you shivered slightly against the breeze. Cillian, sensing your discomfort, gently wrapped his arms around you, pulling you in close against his warm body. It was a comforting embrace, effectively shielding you from the encroaching chill.
"It's getting chilly," he murmured softly, his warm breath tickling your ear. "Are you cold?"
You nodded, a contented smile curving your lips. "Yeah, but I'm much warmer now. Thanks."
He responded by planting a tender kiss on the top of your head, his chin settling there momentarily.
"We should probably start heading back, though," he suggested gently, he suggested softly, his voice a gentle murmur against your hair
You nodded, your fingers tightening around his shirt. "Yeah, you're right."
Reluctantly, you both began to gather your belongings, folding the picnic blanket and placing the items back in the basket. As you stood up, he kept his arm around you, providing a shield against the evening chill.
As you reached the car, he opened the trunk and carefully stored the picnic basket. As you prepared to get into the car, he turned to you with a warm, satisfied smile.
"Today was fun," he declared, his eyes lighting up.
"Well, you certainly make for great company," you replied, a smile gracing your lips as you leaned in closer, your hands resting gently on his chest as his arms held you close.
Closing the distance, he brushed his lips against yours in a lingering, sweet kiss. "So are you," he whispered against your lips.
With a last wistful glance at the tranquil beach, you both got into the car. The engine purred to life, and the journey back began. The drive was quieter this time, both of you lost in your individual thoughts.
Upon parking in front of your building, he turned to you, his gaze soft and affectionate.
"Here we are," he murmured softly, his eyes tracing the contours of your face.
A thought crossed your mind, and you couldn't help but ask, "Want to come in?" you smiled.
He grinned, a hand reaching up to tuck a stray strand of hair behind your ear. "I would love to, but I don’t have anyone to watch Lukas today. I have to pick him up at my brother's place in a few minutes," he explained looking at his wristwatch.
You masked your disappointment with a nod. "Oh, I understand."
"But..." he continued with a hopeful glint in his eyes, "we could cook dinner at my place. This weekend, Lukas will be staying with his mom."
A genuine smile returned to your face. "That sounds like a great plan."
You unbuckled your seatbelt and leaned in to share a slow and gentle kiss, taking your time on exploring his lips. No real desire for it to end.
"Goodnight, Cillian," you whispered, pulling away and opening the car door.
"Goodnight, y/n," he replied, his voice soft and an small smile on his lips
With a final smile, you stepped out of the car and closed the door behind you. He watched you as you got in the building, only leaving when you were safe inside.
As you got home, you showered feeling happy at how things were going. Cillian was a sweet and gentle man. If you guys keep this up, you were sure it wouldn’t take long for him to become important to you.

Am I the asshole for ditching helping my friends on a school project to hang out with someone else? I know this sounds bad.
So my friends are all in an english class im not in and they have a big final project due where they have to make a movie based on the hero's journey or whatever, and I agreed to play one of the roles. I haven't had this agreement long bc they werent originally allowed to let me participate because im not in the class, but the teacher agreed. I also only have a small role that would be two or three scenes at the very beginning and very end.
Everyones had a hellish time trying to schedule together, and theres not a huge amount of time left for the project. Monday was off this week because no one was prepared, thursday and tuesday were off cause two of the people had other school stuff, but that leaves wednesday, friday, the whole weekend and monday as well.
The thing is, everyone was planning on filming on wednesday to get it done as soon as possible- but I agreed to hang out with a different friend wednesday (ill call him Z). Z and i are besties and would spend hours talking every day last year, but since he graduated and has college he's been scary busy, and we've barely been able to hang out at all. We've been trying to schedule a meetup for weeks and finally got free time matching up wednesday, which was prettymuch planned before my friends gave me a role in their project.
I'm not the only person who cant film wednesday, another friend will be gone, and they said thats fine and they'l just film his scenes another day. They seemed really stressed and upset that i couldnt make it, though, but I dont understand why we cant just film mine & his scenes friday or the weekend.
It feels weird too because they're okay with him being gone because he had plans with his girlfriend, but i just have mine with a friend. Many of them know and love Z too and have barely gotten to see Z either so I thought they'd understand. I know I said I could be in the project while still having plans with a friend, but the plans are only one day. & i didnt know everyone elses schedules were so tight too. It's also not my class & this project isnt gonna affect my grade, so I'm not taking it as seriously as a lot of my friends- but the friend seeing his girlfriend is also not part of their class and it wont affect his grade either. I feel like im really disappointing them all but im not gonna pass up hanging out with Z after months of not seeing him in person.

– S: Gojo and Y/n lost their son while he was on a mission, now she wants a divorce.

English is not my first language, so I’m sorry for any mistakes.

"Fuck" that's all Gojo has been thinking about during these two weeks, in a matter of a month, Gojo lost his son, his beautiful and dear son, and he lost his wife, his beautiful and dear wife, his better half, the love of his life.
"Here, sign this." Y/n says putting the papers on the table.
"Good day to you too." Gojo scoffs and puts down his cup to pick up the papers.
"Divorce? You've got to be kidding." He drops the papers and gets up.
"I'm not, and you'd better sign this." Y/n says and turns away leaving the house.
She didn't even go to Jujutsu Tech with him anymore.
Fuck fuck fuck!
Gojo sighs and picks up the papers looking at them with disgust.
"You'll never fucking have my name signed on you." He says and throws the papers in the trash.
So their morning started like this, Gojo trying to talk to Y/n while she was teaching, and Y/n obviously ignoring him completely.
"Megumi have you seen my beautiful wife?" He says approaching his student having lunch.
"No, but she was quieter than usual during classes." This takes the smile off Gojo's face.
Gojo sighs as he sees Y/n sitting on the stairs, it looks like she's just finished teaching first year.
He approaches and sees her holding an ultrasound, their late son's ultrasound.
"I... still carry one of these in my wallet." he says softly.
"Have you signed the divorce papers yet?" Y/n says without looking at her husband.
"I'd rather be with me alive by a curse." Gojo says casually and Y/n rolls her eyes.
"Why haven't you signed the divorce papers yet?"
"Because I don't want this, I want you."
Gojo looks at her and sees her drop the photo in her pocket with the same cold expression that has been on her face for the last few months.
"How are you?" Gojo asks looking at her face which is with a neutral expression.
"Dying, I'm dying." Y/n talks normally and it scares the fuck out of Gojo.
"Please don't say that." Gojo sits next to Y/n on the stairs with their shoulders almost touching.
They are silent, but a painful, tortured silence.
"You're going to have to sign this, you know right?"
"And why? Why do we have to get divorced? We should be going through this together!"
"Really? And where were you when I needed you the most? Fuck Gojo, I know you were on a mission, I know that, but not talking to me for two days? And then coming back with a smile on your face? We barely spoke. about it, and I don't even know... if you were sad or relieved about it."
"How dare you say that? He was my son too Y/n, I cried and cry everyday because I don't have him anymore!" Gojo says feeling his throat starting to close up.
"And why don't I see it?"
He is silent looking at his wife with that sad and…destroyed expression and then he realizes something, he was all this time trying to be strong for her, but he should have been strong with her.
"I don't know what to do with my life anymore and honestly, I'm horrible at anything" Y/n suddenly speaks, and all Gojo wants to do is hold her face and tell her how wrong she is.
"You know that's not true."
"No Gojo, I've actually just realized how right I am, recent events prove that."
She's never been so wrong in her entire life, Y/n was the best person ever and she just didn't see it.
Gojo looks at her, and the blank expression on his face startles he.
"Look… I thank you for staying with me all this time, I honestly don't know how you managed it." Y/n says getting up and smiling softly at Gojo.
He missed her smile, he fucking missed her, but that fake, sad smile wasn't his favorite, not really.
"Why are you telling me these things? What's going on?" Gojo says starting to get desperate, was that a... Goodbye?
"It's okay, don't worry about me." Y/n says turning around, but Gojo is faster and holds her wrist gently.
"Fuck stop!" When Y/n turns around and he looks into her eyes he notices.
He realizes how painful it must have been to feel her son dying inside her, he realizes how hard it must have been not to have her husband close during that terrible moment.
He realizes that it must have been even more terrible to see her husband act normally, instead of crying with her, instead of suffering with her.
At the thought of this, Gojo can't hold back the tears, so with the hand that isn't holding Y/n's wrist, Gojo takes the bandana from his eyes.
"No more hiding your suffering from her Gojo."
"Fuck Y/n don't ever say that again, I'll worry about you for the rest of my life because you are my life!"
"You've always been the best at everything, my love, you're the best wife ever, and all the students are so obsessed with you, honey."
"Forgive me honey forgive me, you should never have gone through this alone." He pulls her to her chest and closes his eyes as he smells her shampoo.
"Gojo..."
"Baby, you are perfect, an amazing woman, it wasn't your fault, my love wasn't." He says and kisses Y/n on the head.
Hearing these words, Y/n feels his eyes sting.
"Gojo..."
"I should have come running to see you, I should have abandoned the mission to be with you, damn I'm the worst husband ever."
Y/n hugs Gojo's waist and closes her eyes crying.
"You are the love of my life, do you understand that? you are everything to me, everything!" Gojo says holding her face with both hands.
"I lost our son Gojo..."
"No love, you did everything for him and he was the luckiest baby to have you as a mother, and I'm the luckiest man to have you as a wife, I can't lose you, I can't." Gojo kisses her wet cheeks.
"It hurts so much Gojo." Y/n says crying more and Gojo feels his heart in pieces when he sees this.
"Let's get through this together my love, together."
"I should never have allowed you to push me away my love, but don't worry, I will never leave your back." He kisses Y/n's head again.
The two stay there for a while, crying and consoling together, as it should be.

— “ 𝐎' 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡. ” | Leland McKinney x Female Reader.
Oneshot. High School AU. You and Leland are dating since the first year of high school. Spending the summer together before your senior year, one of your date nights ends up with a spicy treat.
Notes. English isn't my native language so typos and grammar issues are likely. I was listening to Don't Look Back In Anger by Oasis when writing this.
Warnings. This fic is nsfw, minors dni please.
Enjoy. I hope you enjoy the content. Much love, Cherry. 🍒
Leland and you are both native to Texas, growing up in the same town you both knew of each other but haven't really connected until high school. He became quite popular within freshman year, where he had managed to join the wrestling team and was not half bad at it either. But he had notice you before that. You shared science class, and during the first week you both opt to sit in the back sharing a desk. The butterflies in you made it hard to hide your blush whenever he'd talk to you, and he couldn't shake off the spark he felt whenever you paid any form of attention to him. After Leland found the courage to ask you out, he couldn't have had been any happier hearing you say yes. He won't forget how your eyes lit up and the pink glow that crept on your cheeks.
You were now enjoying the summer break before senior year. You couldn't believe how time had flown by. The Texas heat trying to make it into the living room, where you rest your head on Leland's lap, looking up at him, he started right down at you. He played with your hair while you two just talked about random things. "Hey beautiful" Leland whispered, "I don't have practice today, maybe we could spend some time at the community pool?" He then asked. "Sure babe!" You said. With how hot it was, the cold pool water sounded refreshing, "I'll go pack the bag, then we can stop by your house to get you some swimwear and change of clothes, how's that sound?" "It sounds great babe, thanks."
As you guys have gathered all the necessities from both Leland's home and yours, he drove you to the pool. You bounced between the radio stations until you landed on a song you liked, singing along. Leland gave you a small chuckle, before joining in on the karaoke session. The time you both spent in the pool was relaxing and refreshing. The cold water protected you from the burning sun and having Leland at your side was like a moon shining next to the stars. As the skies got darker you and Leland used the changing rooms and showers provided to get ready for some more exploring. He had offered to take you out to the diner for dinner, "but only if I get a milkshake for dessert" you cheekily said. "Yes maam! Anything for ma' lady". Leland replied with a wink, putting his arm around you and pulling you into him. As you he drove you home, you once again started jamming along to a song on the radio, Leland wasting no time joining in. Eventually he stopped the car in your driveway, "well princess, you are home and now I have to say goodbye." He said, a frown quickly followed. "Actually..." you started to say, a smirk forming on your lips as you remembered your parents had to leave for a trip out of town for a few days, "what is, Y/N? What is my princess plotting?" Leland asked, genuinely curious. "My parents aren't going to be home tonight so, you could stay the night! And then I won't have to be alone either!" You said, excitedly, "hmmm, you sure doll? I could tell my parents im spending the night with Sonny and he'll definitely cover for me, but I don't wanna make you uncomfortable." "No Leland, I want you to stay, please." You said. "Alrighty then."
You guys were cuddling on the couch, in pjs watching a movie. But you couldn't focus on it, the small circles he traced on your back just made you want him to touch more of you. "Getting tired? We can go to bed." Leland said noticing you weren't really watching the movie, truthfully he wasn't either. He was rubbing the smalls of your back the urge to kiss you all over. As the both of you entered the bedroom, you turned on your heel as Leland was shutting the door. "Leland I want you, I need you." You said and he just pulled you into a kiss. It was messy and passionate. His hands started to travel under you pajama camisole while your hands cupped his face to deepen the kiss. He slowly lifted up your shirt, breaking the kiss to remove it, "never thought you'd ask" Leland said and winked at you, causing you to giggle. He took no extra time stepping out of his own pajamas leaving himself in nothing but his boxers, you were already bare chested infront of him, he picked you up and carried you to the bed. Yanking your shorts and panties off before setting all of your body in the middle of your bed, Leland followed you. Now he was just as exposed as you were, crawled ontop of you. He started kissing you again, leaving you a peck on the lips, then your cheeks, than your neck. He continued to worked his way down your breasts, to your belly and to your thighs before he got to your lady part. You moaned louder as Leland started to eat you out, treating you as if you were the sweetest dessert he'd ever tasted, "mmmh yeahh babe" you moaned in pleasure. Throughout his eating you session he had started to introduce his fingers to your hole, pumping them in and out, sometimes only one sometimes two until you couldn't hold the pleasure anymore "come for me, Y/N" he whispered and you obeyed. You started to sit up as you were catching your breath, Leland, now fully hard, has knelt beside you and you change into position, your hand around his length playing with it before slowly taking it in your mouth. You sucked on him while his hands played with your head, every time trying to take more of him at once. Leland was a hot mess just moaning and grunting as felt the pleasure you were providing him. But before he came, he took himself out, "let me grab a rubber" he said and quickly went to the take one out of his wallet that was in the big pool bag in teh corner of the room, he put it on and saw you on four. He came up behind you and slowly inserted himself, you moaned at the feeling of him. He started slowly but worked his pace up, now just speeding in and out of you both of you are just a mess, moaning and grunting and mumbling words of affection as the pleasure you are experiencing is like being up in cloud nine. You feel yourself cumming once again, thanking him as you finish, Leland finishing shortly after.
He offered to help you clean up and you eventually end up back in your pajamas, curled up together. Snoozing the night away.

just this once, okay? | bruce yamada x fem!reader
part one part two part three part four part five part six
y'all i actually love this chapter sm
taglist: @bettyssneaker @ellemfaoh @finneysbaseball @urfavkorean @retirement-home @sweetrabbit @inumakihearts
when a crushing and helpless bruce yamada seeks aid from an unaware and breezy y/n, he suggests they fake date in order to make his crush jealous. what could go wrong? they were friendly, and y/n was beautiful. bruce’s plan is fool proof. at least that’s what he thinks.
a/n: for the sake of the story, everyone is the same age (16-17) and in junior year of high school, except gwen, who is a freshman. and the grabber doesn't exist because i said so.
everyone who had been sick the week prior was finally feeling better. the majority of the students who were out sick were back at school, thriving. bruce had taken a little longer to get back to class, solely because he had taken longer to accept that he was sick and stay home for a couple more days.
you were walking alongside donna, on your way to your shared english class. donna's birthday was coming up and she was beyond thrilled. "can you believe it, y/n/n? i'll be seventeen this saturday!"
finney, who had just tagged along, spoke up. "yeah, don, it's all you've been talking about for weeks now!"
"finn, don't kill her mood." you bossed, making him chuckle. "what're you gonna do? you gonna have a party?"
donna perked up at this. "yep!" she chirped, popping the 'p' loudly. "i haven't told anyone though, you two are the first people i wanted to tell, obviously."
"oh, wow, i'm touched." finney teased, ruffling her hair gently. "out of all of your friends, we're the first to know?"
"yeah, duh." donna quipped, slapping his hand. "so, it'll be on saturday, at around eight o'clock, and you can bring whoever you want, as long as they don't do anything stupid, y'know?"
"ooo!" finney sang, nudging your shoulder. "you can take your perfect little boyfriend to donna's party!"
you rolled your eyes at him as the three of you walked into mrs. jameson's english class. "i was planning to, finn."
"i hate people in happy relationships." donna grumbled, taking her usual seat in front of you.
finney smirked. "y'know they're not actually—"
"shut up, finney!" you scolded, kicking his shin roughly to ensure he'd keep his trap shut. he squealed like a child, holding his knee up to his chest.
"you two have such a weird friendship." donna shook her head, placing her supplies on her desk. she was always so prepared for everything, which was the main reason you two had become friends so quickly.
"we know." you and finney laughed in sync.
Tumblr media
as the three of you trudged to your next class, finney asked a question. "hey, y/n/n, d'you think you could help robin and i with some of the calculus work later?"
"i don't know, finn, the only reason i'm passing calculus is because bruce always gives up on trying to explain the problems to me and just does them himself." you laughed, adjusting your bookbag.
"that's weirdly adorable." donna snickered, fidgeting with the flashy gold watch on her wrist. "it's so gross how adorable your relationship is, y'know?"
"oh, yeah!" finney exclaimed sarcastically. "their relationship is just adorable! super duper real and adorable!"
you gave him a sharp glare, and he immediately stopped teasing you. donna noticed this and furrowed her eyebrows. "he's just jealous of you and bruce, y/n/n, don't listen to him."
"like you're one to talk." finney mumbled so only donna heard it, and she shoved her elbow into finney's abdomen, earning a loud groan from him. "jeez, donna, chill!"
she straightened up quickly, changing the subject. "so, you two will be at my party this saturday, right?"
"yes, i will be there, don," you reassured, "and finney will be there too, even if i have to drag him out of bed myself." the pair laughed loudly at this, the small dimple on finney's cheek peeking out.
"perfect!" she giggled, linking her arm with yours. "hey, if it's not too much to ask, d'you think you could help me set up some stuff?"
"yeah, of course, i'll be there at six!" you responded. you didn't have any other plans for saturday, so if there was anything you could do to help, you'd do it.
"but, just you, okay?" donna muttered, hesitating a little bit. "i mean, bruce is welcome to come to the party, of course, but for before, i have to talk to you alone, okay?"
this worried you to some degree. donna looked somewhat pale, and she was as serious as you've ever seen her. "oh, yeah, okay."
Tumblr media
the rest of the week went by swiftly. bruce had gone over to your house two days during the week, meaning he had met your dad. the whole situation was quite awkward, to be frank.
bruce showed up at your house on saturday evening. as usual, he knocked three times, shoving his hands in his jacket pockets right after.
when you opened the door and saw him— and his gorgeous smile— standing there, you almost slammed the door right in his face. instead, you blurted, "what are you doing here!?"
"i- isn't donna's party today?" bruce questioned, his smile faltering a bit.
"yeah, at eight o'clock!" you laughed, opening the door a bit wider to invite him inside. "it's only five-thirty, we can't show up already!"
he walked in, taking off his jacket and putting it up on the coat hanger. "okay, well, can we hang out, then?"
"i have to help donna set up for her party soon, bruce," you informed, sending him an apologetic look, "and before you ask, no, you can't go with me."
"what, why not!?" he scoffed. "i'd be great help!"
"i'm sure that you would, bruce, but, donna said she had to talk to me about something." you clarified, making him slump his shoulders.
allie was running down the stairs as you said this, grinning brightly when she saw bruce was there. "bruce!" she exclaimed, running over to him, giving him a bear hug.
bruce was quick to react, swooping her up. "allison, my favorite l/n!"
"hear that, y/n/n?" she boasted. "i'm his favorite l/n!"
you shook your head at her behavior. "i'm gonna go to donna's and help her set up. i will be back as soon as we finish."
"hey, bruce, do you want an ice pop?" allie blushed.
"i would love one, allie." bruce smiled. "i just need to talk to y/n really quickly, okay?"
"okay, i'll go get them ready!" allie squealed, running into the kitchen for ice pops. "i'll get you a blue one!"
you looked at bruce with admiration in your eyes. "if she's getting you a blue one she must really like you, y'know?"
"i have that charm on people, you know that." bruce smirked.
"you're so annoying, i hope you know that." you teased, shoving his shoulder.
he grinned, brushing his knuckles against yours. "go help donna, i will be right here, doing the unicorn puzzle with allie for the ninth time and eating ice pops!"
you laughed at this, running a hand through your hair. "i'll be back soon, i swear!"
"it's fine, y/n/n!" he assured. "take your time over there, i am about to eat the best ice pops ever, with one of the most hyper kids i've ever met, we will be fine!"
"okay, see? now, i feel bad!"
"get out!"
"you can't kick me out of my own house!"
"yes, he can, i said so!" what the fuck, allie?
the two of them teamed up and pushed you out of the front door, giggling loudly.
"what the fuck?" you whispered to— well, no one, really.
Tumblr media
you and donna were almost finished setting everything up for her party. she set up a drink station, which as of right now only had soda and red solo cups, but knowing the teenagers of denver, someone would probably sneak in booze.
you helped her set up the snack station, which included an assortment of candies, many different chips, and like five different types of cookies.
"d'you think it's enough? i mean, i invited a lot of my friends and they probably invited some of their friends, but i learned at a young age that it's actually really rude to do that, so—" she rambled, pacing back and forth.
"donna!" you interrupted, placing your hands on her shoulders gently. "it's more than enough, i promise."
"yeah?" you nodded with a smile. "okay! well, i should probably start getting ready or something, i mean it's almost eight o'clock, and— oh!"
"what? what is it?" you asked, worried that she might have forgotten about something.
"oh, i just remembered that i also invited you over so i could tell you something." she said, walking over to you.
"right! yeah, i forgot about that." you admitted, making her laugh. "sorry, should i be prepared? i mean, is it something bad?"
"i guess if you see it that way, but it's really not." she began growing nervous, you could tell in the way she started pulling on her fingers and twisting her rings.
"hey," you soothed, "d, what is it?"
donna breathed in deeply. "you remember when everyone thought finney and i liked one another?"
"yeah, i mean, everyone talked about it for like, the entire year." you said. "even i thought you two were a thing."
"but, we didn't! i mean, i didn't!" donna croaked, her usually soothing voice going up an octave. "i liked finney, but just as friends, because, well, i had a thing for someone else."
"you did?" she nodded. you were growing more confused as to where this was going. "well, who was he? do you still like him?"
"it wasn't a 'he', y/n/n. it was a 'she'. and she was vera kennedy!" donna shrieked, her hands shaking. "i had a crush on vera from science class, okay!?"
you stayed silent, not knowing what to say. donna was crying silently, probably cursing herself for the way she told you.
"i didn't know, d." you wrapped your arm around her shoulder, allowing her to silently sob into your shoulder. "god, if i had known, i wouldn't have teased you about finn so much, im sorry."
she laughed lightly at this, rubbing her now swollen eyes roughly. "it's okay, y/n/n." she paused. "you don't hate me, do you?" she mumbled, her eyes glossy with tears.
"hate you?" you scoffed, placing your hand on hers. "why would i hate you just because of who you wanna make out with?" donna smiled, the corners of her eyes crinkling. "i love you, d, you're my best friend. of course i don't hate you."
donna grinned widely, throwing her arms around your neck. "thank god, because i don't know if i could handle finney on my own."
the two of you laughed, and you reassured her multiple times that you'd always be by her side, no matter what. you told her that you had to go change into nicer clothes, and in a way, pick up bruce.
"sounds good, i'll see you two later!" donna smiled brightly, and you wondered how long she had wanted to tell you this.
"love you, d, i'll be back soon!"
after you left, donna felt like a huge weight had been lifted from her shoulders. the truth was that she wanted you to be the first person she told, but she could never gather enough courage to tell you. the only reason she told finney first was because she knew that he had a crush on her, but she didn't want any miscommunication between the two of them.
thank god you were so accepting, because she didn't know what she would do without you.
Tumblr media
when you and bruce arrived at donna's party, there was loud music and bright led lights that you didn't remember putting up.
"woah, this is," bruce trailed off, "wow!"
"well, 'wow' is one word for it." you retorted, feeling bruce tense up beside you. "hey, you okay?"
"yeah, fine, i'm just, well, i didn't expect donna's party to be so movie-like."
"yeah, me either, and i was here less than an hour ago." you said, squeezing his hand comfortingly.
"okay, let's go!" bruce dragged you inside, and the two of you immediately got tangled in the mess of teenagers in donna's house.
you spotted donna over by the snack table, and tugged on bruce's hand, signaling him over. he caught on and you two made your way over to her.
"donna, i didn't think it would be this big!" you yelled over the deafening music.
"i didn't either, but i guess word got around quickly!" she was definitely panicking.
"well, on the bright side, you're getting more presents than usual!" bruce attempted to lighten her mood, shooting her an award-winning smile.
donna's mouth opened and closed a couple times, but she shrugged. "yeah, i guess so."
"oh, hey, there's violet and luke!" bruce grinned. "wanna go say hey to them?"
you looked at donna, who smiled at you knowingly, and nodded. "yeah, let's go."
the two of you joined lucas and violet, who were quick to greet you. violet began some awkward small talk at first, and then you two soon found out that you actually had a lot in common.
bruce leaned over, tapping your bicep to get your attention. "you okay here?" he asked, wanting to make sure you weren't uncomfortable around his friends.
"yeah, i'm okay, don't worry." you replied, turning back to violet. in the few weeks you and bruce had been fake-dating, he noticed a lot of things about you. he knew you didn't like being around a lot of people you didn't know, and that your favorite shirts were band shirts, even if they were bands you didn't listen to. boy, was he in love.
"so, have you told her yet?" lucas asked him quietly.
"hm?" bruce snapped his gaze away from you and your shimmery eyes, plump lips, and—
"have you told her how you really feel?" lucas smirked, a knowing expression on his face.
"are you kidding? of course i haven't!" bruce scoffed, leaning against the pillar. "and shut up, man! we're not talking about this right now, okay, she's right there!"
"you're so dramatic, dude!" lucas shook his head. "the two of you are so clearly in love, and you haven't even told her?"
"would you shut up?" bruce whisper-shouted, almost spilling his drink on lucas.
"fine, i'll shut up about it for now." lucas chuckled, earning a glower from bruce, which was an unnatural look on his face since he was basically a ray of sunshine.
violet had gone off with one of her other friends, so you walked over to bruce, who looked like he might've been blowing air out of his ears if he wasn't such a bright person.
"are you okay?" you questioned, making his eyes switch over to you.
"lucas is kind of an ass, y'know?" he waved his hand, earning a laugh from you. god, if he could listen to your laugh all day, he would. "no, i'm serious, i mean he's so aggravating, and just— oh, crap."
you furrowed an eyebrow. "what? what is it? what did you say 'oh, crap.' for?"
"do you remember crazy carly from eighth grade?" bruce asked, scratching the back of his head.
"oh, yeah! carly the one who told people that you two were soulmates?" you giggled. "i remember her, she was like, crazy in love with you!"
"she's still crazy in love with me!" bruce groaned, throwing his head back. "and she's here!"
"she's here?" your eyes bulged slightly. "as in here? as in donna's party here!?"
"yes! she's over by the sink, look!" bruce was turning a bright shade of red, something that happened when he was either flustered or nervous. you chose the latter.
"okay, well, it's okay, maybe she won't see us!" you tried to calm him down. it worked for a total of two minutes, until his eyes practically popped out of his head.
"crap, she saw me!" he blurted. "do you trust me?"
"what?"
"do you trust me?"
you were confused. "i- yes, i trust you, why?"
"don't freak out, okay?" he placed his hand on the side of your face and leaned in. you could feel his breath on your face before he stopped, asking, "can i kiss you?"
"yeah," you breathed, and in that moment, you almost melted into a pool of nothingness right then and there.
he kissed you. it was soft and tender, giving you goosebumps all over your arms. the two of you found yourselves melting into the kiss, as if it was something common and natural. your lips moved in sync, giving you both a warm and fuzzy feeling in your stomachs.
with no idea how long the kiss had lasted, the two of you pulled away for breath, hearing loud whistles and cheers from the crowd that had gathered at one point. seeing the many people watching you two made your face turn a bright shade of pink.
"gross, man, next time get a room." vance grumbled, shoving his way past the two of you. "honestly, making out just like that? in front of everyone? jeez."
you and bruce were left dazed after all of the commotion died down. the rest of the night, the two of you seemed to be in a trance, likely bewildered that the kiss even happened.
robin and finney started teasing you, saying things like "we told you!" and "you two are totally in love." even billy had walked over and given the two of you a shit-eating grin.
you stepped outside to catch your breath after what had just happened, sitting on the rusty swingset in donna's backyard.
what you least expected was for clara to walk up to you. her short brown hair was curled neatly, and her bright hazel eyes shined in the fancy lighting of donna's house. "you two make a cute couple, you know?"
"oh, thanks, clara." you said, smiling politely.
she sent a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes, making it look ingenuine. "you two seem really happy together."
you nodded, gazing above at the stars.
"are you?" she began.
"hm?"
"are you two happy?" you didn't know clara was so nosy.
you pondered the question for a moment. "yeah. yeah, i think i'm actually the happiest i've been in a while."
while this was a true statement, it scared you. you and bruce's relationship was only temporary, but he made you happy, and you weren't ready to give that up yet. neither of you were.
clara's small smile faltered, and she sniffled a little. "that's good, um, that's great, actually."
"are you okay, clara?" you asked.
she fixed her slumped posture quickly. "yeah, yeah, i'm okay! i'm actually gonna head back in, so, i'll see you."
"okay," you nodded, "bye, clara."
you didn't know how long you had been out there, but it must've been long enough for bruce to go looking for you. "hey, there you are!"
"bruce, hey." you greeted, a warm smile finding it's way onto your face.
"i'm sorry if that was too much, or something, i didn't mean to freak you out." he apologized, holding out an m&m cookie. "i got you this, i thought you'd like one."
you gratefully accepted, your smile growing. "you didn't freak me out, bruce. i just kind of, panicked, i guess."
he furrowed an eyebrow. "why?"
"i don't know, actually." lie, of course you knew, but you wouldn't be caught dead confessing your feelings to bruce yamada. "i think it's because of all the people watching."
he nodded in understanding. "yeah, that's my bad."
"it's okay, though." you said, taking a bite out of the large cookie. "i've been out here looking at the stars, and it's very much comforting."
"oh, well in that case, i'll go get more snacks, and we can watch the stars together." he offered, wrapping his jacket around your shoulders.
"that sounds like fun, let's do it!" you jumped up, taking one of the blankets you had stolen earlier and spreading it out onto the grass. "and don't forget to get drinks!"
"i won't!"
well, thank you, carly.

“Still no answer?”
“No” Ben replied, nervously walking around his trailer, when the call was again switched to voicemail. He was in Yorkshire, England working on his new film The Critic and a cell phone at the moment was the only medium to contact you as you stayed in your apartment in Los Angeles. But why was he desperately trying to reach you in the first place, having previously asked for a break during the shoot?
One of your best friends was the reason why.
Amita Suman called him.
You two met in the first year of London acting and drama school – Academy of Live and Recorded Arts. On the very first day of class, you felt a certain thread of communication between you and from then on you were almost inseparable. For this reason, she knew everything about you, or at least the great majority. She even knew more than your boyfriend, which in most cases was a huge advantage. Sometimes, however, it was the complete opposite, and the fact that Amita knew Ben very well didn't improve the situation at all. And this was also the case this time.
This was one of those weeks.
Weeks? It was one of those months.
Months in which, despite systematically taking medication, you again felt as if you deserved nothing and no one. You have been heavily overstimulated in recent months, which has only made things worse for you. As a result of taking a job with Pedro Pascal on the newly announced HBO series, My Dentist's Murder Trial, you've been working more than sleeping. As a newly prosperous actress, new to the world of movies in a serious way, you wanted to please every producer who offered you a job. You wanted to be the best version of yourself, the one who doesn't let others down and who can be trusted because no matter the project, she gives one hundred per cent of herself. That's the way you were raised, and despite being told over and over again in therapy that the world won't collapse if you allow yourself some rest, you haven't been able to change that.
But usually you were able to handle it. Years of strict treatment from your mother have allowed you to master adopting a fake mask to perfection, but it never reflected well on you.
This was also the same this time.
After long hours on set, you were sick of everything. But it wasn't the usual exhaustion that affects every adult having a hard day at work. You felt like isolating yourself from everyone. You didn't answer the phone or reply to any messages, unless they were related to your dream job, for which you had worked for a long time and which had recently turned into a nightmare. Every day, when you got home, you locked the door of your place and, without turning on any light, immediately headed for the kitchen. More and more often, you took larger doses of medication than you should have, and also reached for alcohol immediately afterwards, thinking that this was the only thing that would keep your thoughts occupied and allow you to get up again the next day and make it to the set on time.
Earlier this month, Ben flew to England, where he was supposed to start work on a new film. Given your recent condition, it was very much to your advantage that he was over eight thousand kilometres away from you. He knew about your problems, but still, you didn't like to show that something was wrong. This was also closely related to your childhood, when your mother would marginalise and belittle your problems, telling you to go to your room and stop ‘complaining’.
Still, when Ben was in the city and you could meet him at your spare time, you felt better. Much better. He was one of the two people you let into your chaos.
The other person was Amita.
The evening before Ben's flight to his homeland, you were on a date. You managed to get back from work sooner that day, as you only had a script reading scheduled with the rest of the cast. Your relationship was no secret, however, you valued your privacy. Occasionally, you added photos of you together to your social media profiles, but these often didn't portray you as a couple. You didn't like it when you were only mentioned when talking about Ben. You didn't go to the London School of Acting for so long that now your name was only mentioned when Barnes' name is brought up.
Unfortunately, the large majority of people didn't seem to share your perspective on your relationship, and the biggest problem was Ben's fans. You knew how much they meant to him and how much they mean to him. After all, it was also thanks to them that his career had flourished so much. But you were hurt by the comments you received from them, and they came every time you appeared in the media together. There have been times when you've been forced to turn off the ability to comment on your photos on Instagram because the amount of negative comments was starting to weigh you down. The profiles from which these comments were coming usually had a picture of Ben in the profile picture, and the name was either about Ben or about any of his characters. You didn't understand why the people who should theoretically be enjoying his happiness were dragging you down.
Ben, on the other hand, did not read any comments. He didn't bother with them. Sometimes he wasn't even the one to add posts to his social media – he had people for that. For this reason, he was not fully aware of what you were facing. When you mentioned to him that, again, benbarnswife claims that you two are not a good match he would only tell you not to pay attention to it, because, after all, it doesn't really matter anyway.
But for you it meant a lot.
You were sitting in your apartment, and the only source of light was a standing lamp in the corner of the living room. You were sitting on the couch with your dog's head on your thigh. In one hand you held a glass half-full of wine, while in the other you held your phone, where you read the comments under a photo of Ben, you added a few days ago. The photo was taken on the day before his flight, while walking through one of the larger bookstores in the city.
forbarnes lmaooooo she added his photo without her on itttttt she knows she’s ugly & fat juliebvrnes she really think she deserves him 🤣 biIlyrss0 he looks so done with her 💀 inlovewithdarkling SO IN LOVE WITH THIS!!!! bennn__ my husband barneswife kys<33333 lmao
You locked your phone screen and tossed it to the side, which scared your dog. You took a big sip of wine and, wiping your mouth with the sleeve of Ben's sweatshirt you were wearing, got up from the couch.
“I’m done of this shit, Rocky…” you said to your dog and dragging your feet walked to the kitchen to fill your glass with drink.
This was the first time you stopped answering calls even from your best friend. You just watched as the number of missed calls and unread messages from Amita had been growing for three days. Normally, she would have barged into your apartment after the first few rejected calls, regardless of whether you were inside or not. She had extra keys. Unfortunately, she was also several hundred kilometers away from you, busy with her work.
After pouring wine into your glass, you turned off all the lights and headed straight to the bathroom, where you began filling the tub with warm water. You needed a rest, and the alcohol seemed to have stopped working. So you reached for the traditional ways of relaxation – a bath in hot water full of foam. You took off your clothes, tossing Ben's sweatshirt into the washing machine, and looked in the mirror stretched on the wall in front of you. You ran your hand over your stomach, then looked into your tired face. You had the thought that you had lost a few pounds recently, but you couldn't find that one reason for your weight loss. A return of bad mood? Constant work-related stress? Maybe something else you didn't even realize? You sighed and took a check-up look at the water level in the bathtub. You reached for a brush and combed your hair, then tied it into a messy bun on top of your head.
You slowly entered the bathtub and after just a moment turned off the tap, deciding that there was already enough water. You dipped down to your chin and breathed deeply. You tilted your head back slightly, closing your eyes. It was pleasant, you felt the warmth of the water wrap around your entire body, and your tense muscles began to relax.
You didn't even notice when the alcohol in your veins combined with the temperature of the water made you feel breathless. Nor did you register the moment you lost consciousness.
When you opened your eyes again you were completely underwater. Panicked, you immediately wanted to take a breath in, which only caused pain in your respiratory tract. Without any hesitation, you emerged from the water and, pushing away the hair stuck to your face, you started coughing, leaning out of the tub.
When you felt all the water leave your throat and windpipe leading to your lungs, you began to take nervous gulps of air. Confused, you looked around the still-foggy bathroom. You didn't know what had really happened, or how long you had been under that water. You didn't even know if what had just happened was even possible. After all, it was not once said that people drowned after falling asleep while bathing. You were very lucky.
Helping yourself with trembling hands, you lifted yourself out of the tub. You reached for your towel and, wrapping yourself in it, sat down on the bathroom rug, beginning to cry hysterically. You were terrified by the situation, and the fact that no one was by your side didn't make you feel any better at all. When you finally calmed down, you felt that the temperature in the room decreased and goosebumps began to appear on your skin. You got up from the floor and quickly put on your pajamas. After what had happened, you felt as if all the alcohol had evaporated from your body. You opened the bathtub drain so that the water could flow out of it, and on your still shaking legs you left the bathroom.
“Rocky?” you called out to your dog with a weak voice. Fortunately, he heard you well and after just a moment you saw a young dalmatian walking towards you. “Come on, it's bedtime, baby” you pet the dog's head and went with him to the bedroom. When Ben wasn't with you for the night, Rocky was happy to take his place, occupying the great majority of the bed in the meantime. You didn't mind though, you liked to feel someone's presence at night, even if it was just your dog.
The next day you didn't show up at the location where you were supposed to shoot the next few scenes. That night you didn't sleep at all. Not only did you not have the strength to do anything, but the headache caused by an excess of wine and antidepressants made its presence known. First thing in the morning you called the producer, saying that you were feeling terrible and that you must have caught some kind of illness. He wasn't happy, but what else could he do? After all, he wouldn't forcibly drag you out of the apartment, and anyway he had no reason to be angry, because you had never failed him before.
You spent the whole day in bed. You had no appetite, so despite the audible burbling in your stomach and the accompanying feeling of hunger, you didn't eat anything. The only times you left the bedroom were your trips to the toilet, or quick walks with Rocky.
Late in the evening you heard someone banging on the door. It started out as knocking on the door and waiting patiently for an answer, but it quickly turned into a nervous pulling on the handle. Your dog reacted immediately. After just a few knocks he was at the door, barking. You weren't expecting any visitors, mainly because the only two people who could pay you a visit were in another state, or even – country. Reluctantly, you rose from the bed, realizing that the intruder on the other side of the door was not going to let go.
“I'm coming!” you called out to calm the unannounced visitor. You sighed deeply as you walked through the apartment and saw all the mess inside.
You finally turned the key in the lock, and to your eyes was seen none other than your boyfriend, who at that very moment should have been in Yorkshire. Seeing him, you only furrowed your eyebrows, not knowing what he was doing here. Did you miss some message? Possibly. You took a few steps back the moment the man, with concern painted on his face, entered the apartment. Being already inside, he closed the door behind him and immediately took you into his arms.
“Ben? What are you doing here?” you muttered into the fabric of his coat which he was wearing, embracing him with your arms after a while.
“I was so worried…” he said, stroking your hair as if he didn't believe you were safe and sound.
“W-why?” you asked confused. What could he be worried about? After all, no one knew about the events of the previous night. You didn't let anyone know about them, and your dog, of course, couldn't pass on the information.
Ben pulled away from you at arm's length. All the while holding you by the shoulders he looked at you carefully. “Amita said she has had no contact with you for three days. She told me that things haven't been very good with you lately… Why didn't you say anything?”
“I-” you didn't know what to answer him. You saw concern in his dark eyes. On top of that, he held you as if he was about to lose you forever.
You haven't even noticed that Rocky is persistently trying to get your attention. He loved Ben and didn't understand why the man was ignoring him.
“I didn't want to worry you…” you finally stutter out.
“Worry me? Love, I tried to reach you yesterday. You don't even know how it worried me. What's happening with you?”
“What are you even doing here?” you answered with a question to a question, not wanting to tell him about what you've been going through lately. “You should-”
“Don't change the topic” he said more harshly than he intended. However, he quickly recanted and muttered an apology under his breath. He took your hand and led you to the living room, where you both sat on the couch. He didn't even take off the coat he came in. “I arrived on the first plane I could”
Hearing his words made you even more stunned. What did he meant, he got away from the set? You saw him looking around the interior of the apartment, he must have noticed the chaos inside already at the entrance. After all, he had never seen anything like this at your place before.
“Is this one of those episodes?” he asked, unsure of the words he was choosing.
“I've been feeling worse lately” you finally started. Ben slipped his outerwear off his shoulders and threw it over the back of the couch, then focused all his attention on you again. “I don't know if it's the medications that stopped working or if I'm just exhausted from everything… I didn't want to worry you, I've always handled things on my own. It would be fine eventually”
“Eventually? Y/N, who am I to you?”
“What?” you asked, being surprised by the question Ben put to you.
“Just answer – who am I to you?”
“You-you know you’re the most important person in my life”
“Am I? Because lately I don't feel that way at all. How many times did you call me during this month while I was in England? Zero, Y/N, not even on-”
“O-okay, if you are going to get angry with me then just get out of here” you interrupted him, getting up from your seat. Tears began to gather in your eyes. Ben's words made you feel worse instead of feeling better around him. You stood in front of him, looking at him the whole time, fighting with yourself not to cry.
“No. No, I’m sorry. I didn't mean to sound like that, sorry” he replied, also getting up from the couch. “My point is that I would like you to be honest with me. That you wouldn't be afraid to tell me how you feel. I am here for you, Y/N. Even being thousands of miles away, you can count on me, love” he grabbed your hands, taking a step closer to you.
“It's not that easy, Ben…” you replied, slightly hanging your head and sticking your eyes on your hands.
“I know. I know, love” he let go of one of your hands and lifted your chin with his thumb so you could look at him. With his other thumb, he began to smooth the skin on your hand. “Just try to do it, okay?” he asked while looking straight into your eyes. You felt like running away with your eyes to the side, as the weight of his dark gaze began to make you shy. You swallowed your saliva, then nodded in agreement with his words.
“I am glad you are safe. Amita had such a frightened voice on the phone that I began to think of only black scenarios myself” he snorted a quiet laugh, resting his forehead on the one belonging to you.
“I'm sorry, I will never worry you again. I promise…” you promised, remembering the fear that accompanied you yesterday. No matter how bad you felt, you needed both Amita and Ben, because they were the only ones who could help you, in case you didn't have the strength to fight on your own.
